Amusement park
Universal Studios Hollywood is a sprawling amusement park in Los Angeles, known as The Entertainment Capital of L.A. It offers a unique cinema-themed experience with rides, restaurants, shops, and shows. Visitors can explore movie sets and enjoy attractions like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, King Kong 360 3-D Studio Tour, Transformers: The Ride-3D, The Simpsons Ride, Revenge of the Mummy, and Jurassic Park - The Ride.
So much fun. We're usually a Disney family but have wanted to visit Universal for a while and finally got our chance. It was actually quite a welcome change from the crowds of Disneyland. It would get very busy of an afternoon, mainly because we visited on Halloween horror nights and the crowds would arrive for that, but we managed to ride everything and were able to time it so we had less than half an hour waits for everything. We will definitely return to Universal again.
Bec M — Google review
We went on a Sunday in late October. There were minimal lines to get on the rides and the weather was nice and cool. Got to ride all of the rides, enjoy the studio tour, have lunch, a few snacks, and enjoy our time together. We definitely will be back. Keep in mind that the park closes early during the Hollywood Horror Night season & that is a separate entrance fee.
Twila K — Google review
PERFECT 2-Day Weekday Trip - We Did It ALL! Just got back from a fantastic 2-day trip to Universal Studios, and going on a weekday was the absolute best decision! The crowds were so much more manageable than on weekends. We were able to ride every single major attraction, some of them even two or three times without breaking a sweat. The attention to detail here is incredible. From the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (butterbeer is a must-try!) to the mind-blowing Studio Tour and the intense Jurassic World ride, every area was immersive and so much fun. The new Super Nintendo World is a total game-changer, it feels like you've literally jumped into the video game. If you can swing it, I 100% recommend the 2-day weekday strategy. It felt relaxed, we saw everything we wanted, and it was worth every single penny. An unforgettable experience!
Diddy L — Google review
It was great! We purchased the daily express pass, and within 6 hours, we completed all the rides, including the studio tour. We were a group of four, and we had a blast. We went on a Saturday. The park was not really busy, and the weather was fantastic (74°F). Even the parking was easy; we parked in the general parking area, which cost $35, and the walking distance was not bad. Of course, the whole cost of the day was high, but we had a lot of fun and no regrets.
Ingrid Y — Google review
Universal Studios is an incredibly fun and well-designed park with tons to enjoy. The rides are exciting, immersive, and full of great special effects—definitely a highlight of the visit. The themed areas are impressive, and it’s easy to spend the whole day exploring without getting bored. The only downsides are the long lines during peak hours and the higher prices for food and drinks, which can add up quickly. Even so, the overall experience is fantastic. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is lively, and the park offers something for all ages.
Diego S — Google review
Amazing place for a full day of fun! The rides, shows, and movie sets are exciting and entertaining for all ages. The staff is friendly, the park is clean, and every visit feels like a new adventure. Highly recommend for families and tourists!
Edo — Google review
A great park. A lot of fun to visit. The wizarding world is fun if you're into Harry Potter, and the whole park has some great rides. My son loved Nintendo world. He had a great time on the Mario Kart ride, and we got him a power band so he could play all the interactive stuff. I really enjoyed the backlot tour, and seeing some of the sets and locations from Hollywood History. Overall, this was a one-day park for our family. We had a fun day, and we enjoyed it, but more than one day would have been too much. Be warned that you should check the hours before you visit. Some days it opens at 8, some days it opens at 10.
Geoff — Google review
This place has grown since i last visited and all for the better. So worth the price of admission and can't wait to go back. The Simpsons, Harry Potter, Nintendo, Transformers, Jurassic World; where can ya go wrong? Harry Potter and Nintendo was the highlights attractions and loads of time could be spend there. Can't wait to see the new coaster in play, looks amazing!

The Hollywood Sign, a legendary symbol of the entertainment industry, was erected in 1923 and is situated on Mount Lee. This iconic landmark is a must-see for anyone visiting California, especially those aspiring to make their mark in showbiz. For an unforgettable experience, explore various driving tours and walking trails that offer stunning views of the sign. One of the best vantage points can be found at Griffith Observatory, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of Los Angeles while soaking in beautiful sunsets.
Worth the hike to the top. Park in the neighborhood near the innsdale drive trail and walk from that direction. Went on a weekday and lots of space to park. Hike is fairly steep but not difficult and worth it for the views and pictures!
James A — Google review
I took these photos from the side of the Griffith Observatory. My zoom isn’t the best 😬. Staying till after sunset, I don’t know why but I thought the sign illuminated - it didn’t. It would be good to see it glow, even if just for a short period of time. I am not sure if you can get nearer but google maps gave me this location. Enjoy. The Griffin Observatory is a nice site and park walkway. 💫
Ally S — Google review
I visited the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles, and it was an unforgettable experience! The drive through Griffith Park was scenic, and the panoramic view of the city from the top was absolutely stunning. Seeing the iconic white letters up felt surreal — a true symbol of LA’s magic. I recommend going early in the morning or near sunset to avoid crowds and catch the best light for photos. A must-visit spot for anyone in Los Angeles!
Dr.Bhargava B — Google review
Love the Hollywood Sign. The view was amazing.. 🫶🏼 Just make sure you parked your car before you arrive your destination. Because it hard to find parking when you get closer to the sing. Also make sure you wear comfortable shoes 🥲😃 You will need to walk a little bit
Sophia K — Google review
The Hollywood Sign is definitely a must-see when you’re in LA! It’s such an iconic spot, and seeing it up close feels unreal. I walked all the way to Lake Hollywood Park, which is an easier route it took me around 40 minutes, and it was totally worth it. The view from there is amazing, especially during sunset so gorgeous and peaceful! It’s a great spot to relax, take photos, and just enjoy the LA vibes.
Rui L — Google review
What can I say that hasn’t already been covered? The views are majestic, the hike is tough but enjoyable. And the atmosphere is just great.
Marvin N — Google review
Yes, it's touristy, but it is still cool to see. Very steep hills with tight curves and oncoming traffic to get up there. Still worth doing though
John J — Google review
Seeing the Hollywood Sign in person was an incredible moment! It’s one of those iconic landmarks that makes you feel like you’re truly in the heart of the entertainment world. The view from the trails was amazing, and it’s a perfect spot for photos and taking in the beauty of Los Angeles. A must-see if you’re visiting Hollywood!

Amphitheater
Concert hall
Live music venue
Nestled in the enchanting Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood Bowl is a historic amphitheater that has been captivating audiences since 1922. With its stunning natural acoustics and picturesque surroundings, this iconic venue can accommodate up to 18,000 guests who flock here each summer for an array of performances spanning every musical genre. From classical concerts by the Los Angeles Philharmonic to lively comedy shows and spectacular annual events like the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, there's something for everyone at this beloved hotspot.
The best concert venue in the world. I love love this place. I’ve been there for many concerts, and I always enjoyed my time there. It’s wonderful. Beyond amazing. I love to go there for summer nights. And for the parking spot, the best thing to do is to reserve your spot in two days before the concert and when you arrive you are secure. Summer is so fabulous in Hollywood bowl.
Sevda A — Google review
Beautiful venue to see a show and enjoy a picnic outdoors on a warm summery evening with friends. Almost every seat is a good seat. We have a box and it's tight but but we always have a great time and often, we are not familiar with the artist performing which doesn't matter as it is such a great venue to enjoy.
Mark G — Google review
The Hollywood Bowl is amazing. I live in San Diego but I come up frequently. One reason is because of the freedom. There are venues in San Diego that will check every orifice of your body to make sure you don't bring in anything they could possibly sell you. The Hollywood Bowl is just the opposite. You can bring your food, your wine, your picnic baskets, and have a really good time. They also have a wide variety of food on premises so you have choices. I love that! The shows have been amazing. I hope this is me and you never changes and never goes away.
Fred L — Google review
Enjoyed many summer concerts and shows here. It is always a fun venue for a performance and if you plan well , you can enjoy a picnic or a meal ahead of the show. A great way to enjoy some fabulous acts in a beautiful location.
Ruksana H — Google review
I love the Hollywood bowl..cool venue! Buuut...parking is 👎, this is why park and ride bus trips are the best! And the ability to bring food and drinks is great. Lots of hills ( if you have mobility issues or hard time walking,it might be challenging) in all cool place to see a concert!
Heather T — Google review
Fantastic time. No wait phenomenal staff and ushers. Great views everywhere like a night with 10,000 old friends. Ate too much drank too much but never inhaled. Lost my battery and my wife lost her drivers license! Super great time. Danced all night with Earth Wind and Fire. But, No Rain. Huge fantastic in your face fireworks we could smell and wore sunglasses. Got her home safe. Hit Hollywood Blvd for crazy good time; Stopped for fries on the way out.
Scott H — Google review
THE best spot to enjoy live music in the Los Angeles area. On a clear warm night this place is a true experience. The free parking area is a bit of a walk away from the bowl, but if you're willing to pay extra you'll be right next door. The staff is superbly friendly and helpful.
Steve C — Google review
One of my favorite places in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The venue is amazing and I've been lucky enough to attend many concerts in both Jazz series, World Music series and other concerts outside the series over the last 15+ years. I have friends there, I've been going so long. Once the sun goes down and the weather cools and the breeze comes in, nothing is better than the Hollywood Bowl. Whether ordering in-box or the many other options in the venue, it's a good experience and the food is divine and so is the wine. I recently attended the Herbie Hancock concert and he did not disappoint. I highly recommend checking out the Bowl, I've sat at the top in between and in the garden box and no matter what you'll never regret attending a concert there.

American restaurant
Mel's Drive-In Hollywood is a classic 1950s-style diner that is part of a local chain, offering classic American comfort food. The restaurant has a nostalgic ambiance with functional table-top jukeboxes and serves up burgers, salads, shakes, and other diner classics. With its diverse mix of clubgoers, tourists, and locals, Mel's has been a Sunset Strip mainstay since 1997.
Our family really enjoyed Mel’s drive-in. It’s right next to the Chinese Theater just off the Hollywood walk of fame. It has a classic diner vibe and is famous for its burgers and milkshakes. I thought it was tasty and enjoyed the french fries. Our server was absolutely fantastic and made it an incredible experience.

It was a great place but towards the end of the night when it wasn't very busy. It was fascinating for my wife and youngest son to see. Great Burger and Fries and Root Beer Soda Float.
ASM D — Google review
Very nice experience. Quiet atmosphere in this typical 1950s style dinner. Fairly good food and service was great with Amanda. Lots of attention and interesting discussions with her. Would definitely come back.
Guillaume F — Google review
For a place that’s been serving Hollywood since 1947, you’d expect Mel’s Drive-In to have flavor figured out by now. Unfortunately, what a massive letdown. We ordered four different meals, and every single one tasted like the seasoning took the night off. The Jalapeño Burger and Patty Melt had patties as bland as plain bread, and even the ranch couldn’t help since it was watered down and just as flavorless. The short rib nachos? Same story. And I truly didn’t think it was possible to mess up French toast, but here we are. We were excited for dessert based on the menu descriptions, but after the disappointing entrees, there was no saving throw left to make. We skipped it entirely. To be fair, our waitress was very sweet and provided great service. The cashier, however, looked like saying “hello” and “thank you” would have been too big of an ask. Overall, Mel’s looks like Hollywood nostalgia, but the food needs some serious seasoning and the experience fell flat. Disappointing visit.
Adrian C — Google review
I recently visited Mel’s Drive-In in Hollywood. It’s a cozy, classic spot with a nostalgic atmosphere that takes you back in time. The vintage décor and overall vibe are very charming, and it’s a nice place to enjoy a meal or a drink. However, after so many years of operation, it seems that some parts of the service and maintenance have declined a bit. The table we were seated at wasn’t very clean, which affected the overall impression. Also, the servers didn’t have a specific uniform, and that made the place feel a little less organized and professional. Still, I enjoyed the experience overall — the location, history, and ambiance make it worth a visit, especially if you like old Hollywood diners.
Roobik P — Google review
If you love a 50's Happy Days-style restaurant in the chic neighborhood of West Hollywood, and enjoy people watching, Mel's Diner is perfect for you! While working for the City of West Hollywood, this was my go to spot for lunch to enjoy a great burger or grilled cheese sandwich and greasy fries. It has a fun & upbeat atmosphere, and on occasion you'll see a celeb or two. It's in a very walkable location close to some great shopping at Sunset Plaza. The outdoor seating near the sidewalk makes for great entertainment as you watch the parade of people walking by. Sharing a photo of Mel's Drive-In that I took while working on the Sunset Plaza renovation project!
Melanie G — Google review
The food is very mediocre. The atmosphere is cold, and the temperature inside feels like a refrigerator. The waitress is really doing her best. For me, this is a real disappointment.
Rudi P — Google review
Great place Great atmosphere The host didn’t know if they served breakfast at dinner which seemed a bit odd. Once we had our main server she was helpful and able to answer all our questions. Had the traditional burger, fries, milkshake, and everything was great. Security at the door ensured safety for everyone. Good menu selection, and the place was busy which meant it was a good choice for many to come and dine.

The Pizza Press is a nostalgic restaurant with a 1920s-style ambiance that offers a unique experience of creating your own pizza. The newspaper-themed pizza chain features signature pizzas like The Times and The Chronicle, but the highlight is the option to customize your own pizza. This flexibility makes it easy for customers to enjoy vegan or cheese-free options, catering to various dietary preferences and restrictions.
Jay, the manager, gave me the best experience ever! I ordered the Times pizza and because I don’t like tomatoes, he offered a substitution, which was super thoughtful! The pizza turned out beautifully and he even gave a little “salt bae” action with the garnish! 100/10 totally recommend! Will definitely be back!
Flowerskristiana — Google review
I stayed close to the Pizza Press when I was visiting Hollywood. This place was recommended by a friend. The pizza was so good. It exceeded my expectation for a pizza. The ingredients are fresh and I like that it's made there for you and you can customize your own pizza. I will definitely be returning when I visit again.

I eat here often and I usually have exceptional service and no issues. But today… I ordered a LARGE pizza, got home and it was tiny. I called to let her know she’d made the wrong size… and she told me that was the size and it just looked smaller because it was in an XL box. Well…. I measured the box to see.. a large is supposed to be 14” and our pizza was about 10”. So disappointed. I was also charged for a side dip which I’m not usually charged for… so idk what was going on today but really disappointed.
Stacogirl — Google review
I have been a fan of this place for the past year, but my recent experience was very disappointing. A friend ordered a vegetarian pizza for a party, and it arrived with bacon on top. It was not just a stray piece that could have been an accident but appeared to be an actual topping. Mistakes can happen, and we were understanding at first. However, when we called to have it corrected, the response we received was dismissive. They asked us to send photos and then accused us of adding the bacon ourselves, which was frustrating. Eventually, they agreed to send a replacement pizza, but it never arrived, and after that, they stopped responding. Very disappointing service. And we never received the pizza and the ice cream they say they sent the second time. They told us they were sending the pizza, but it never arrived and they stopped responding to us.
Emilia M — Google review
My family and I usually really love the quality of this pizza place. (Literally could come late night, and the staff and food were great.) But today that no longer will be a place we frequent. So you walk in and they make you use a kiosk to order, which is fine. (No more ordering while you watch them make the pizza). We ordered an XL, self published pizza, and we made it a combo with 3 wings and a drink. The wings came the size were great nice and big but a little on the burned side. But we ate them and they weren’t too bad. But man when the pizza came the crust was burned like black. Half the pizza was very burnt on the bottom and the top. The ingredients like the onions and olives were charred. I also noticed they used like Canadian Bacon instead of regular bacon. There was only one girl working and honestly I felt bad having to go and tell her the pizza was bad. She had giving me attitude for a side of ranch. Telling me I had to pay for it and I nicely told her I already did. If she would have just checked the order, she would have known I paid .75 cents for a side of ranch. My husband and I just made the best of it, but we noted we wouldn’t be coming back. To spend $40 dollars on a thin crust burnt pizza wasn’t worth it. We had to eat what we could and toss out the burnt crust. Quality has really come down. The food was bad and the vibes even worse. (Wish I would have taken photos).
Vivian B — Google review
The pizza is always delicious. The staff is always friendly. The prices are reasonable for the economy. The late hours are convenient. I just wish the rewards in the app actually worked at this location so I could redeem my points.
Briana H — Google review
Pizza was really good. We got the hot honey pepperoni. The wait was like 15 minutes, so not like fast food, but honestly it was worth the wait. The staff was also really nice and it was about 10pm.
Matthew P — Google review
I had an incredibly long wait, over 40 minutes, for my order. The restaurant was not busy, so I advise you to be mindful of your time if you are on clock. I can’t recommend. Updates: Owner of that restaurant just remember. I would better choose dominos pizza instead but you as owner of business have to control your words cause your business strictly depends on customers. And that’s absolutely do not acceptable be RUDE AND AGGRESSIVE. That’s shame on you as business owner of restaurant. Consumer service terrible and absolutely not acceptable speaks with customers as you did knowing you are not right. you are absolutely rude .

The Tower Bar is a chic lounge located in the heart of Sunset Strip, West Hollywood. It's a popular spot for bigwigs, offering clubby decor and French-American cuisine with a side of live jazz piano. The atmosphere is reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour, providing stunning views of the city and an exclusive vibe. Bartenders were top notch. Friendly and amazing drinks. Atmosphere was dark but very cozy and timeless. Hostesses…big surprise, super rude. Came at 5pm for a drink at sunset because their hours on Google shows 7am-11pm but it actually opens at 6pm, just be aware. Patio is not open at night in the winter, definitely could be with heaters.

Was here under a reservation with friends, One of which was visiting Los Angeles for the first time. We arrived on time to our reservation and all six of us, We all ordered craft cocktails, already spending about $200 on that. And then she came around and asked us if we wanted any food of course we are like yes, so we begin to order around six appetizers for the table. She then says ok our kitchen is closing in 15 minutes so if you want to order anything else you’re going to have to put it in now. we had only discussed what we wanted as appetizers and since we’re a group of girls, we were just like oh we don’t really know what we want as entrees, and all decided we would just stick with the appetizers instead of ordering entrées. The waitress is like OK no problem. I’m putting this in. Five minutes later, a woman comes up to us and is like hi. I’m so sorry but you guys are gonna have to give up your table. You didn’t order food and we’re like we just put in six appetizers and she’s like yes, but our policy requires that you order an entrée each, So we’re like whatever we will move to the bar. As we are literally gathering our stuff and ask for the check, a second person comes over and this time it’s a man. And he says the exact same thing and we’re like yes we already got told this we’re waiting for the check. And he’s like oh well I just had to let you know because you didn’t order food. And I say we did order food we just put in six appetizers that you guys said we’re coming, so is that coming or not because we have to pay for it, He says that they never put in the order My friends and I just ask him since the kitchen is closing in 15 minutes. There are empty tables surrounding us. Can we just get what we ordered and eat it at our table? And he literally says to us, we would rather have An empty table then you guys just sitting here for drinks, To which then I’m like we ordered six appetizers they’re like a full pizza calamari bread etc. And we probably would have ordered entrées have their kitchen up and closing, and we didn’t discuss like what we wanted. Mind you there are tables that people are sitting in with only drinks surrounding us. This is not some rule that is listed on their website or when you book a reservation. So they give us the check eventually for $200 worth of drinks, which we probably would’ve ordered another round as well. they tell us we can go sit by the bar. There are no tables over there. And we literally don’t get to have dinner. Never in my life have I’ve been treated like this at an upscale establishment. This is something that would never happen at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Château, Bel Air hotel. And when we’re sitting in the lobby, trying to finish our drinks where they told us, we could sit the same man and all of his friends are literally laughing at us sitting there. One of my friends who knows a few regulars there, texted one of them, and he was absolutely appalled at the way they treated us. I can’t imagine they treat all of their patrons like this, If Kendall Jenner had walked in there, do you really think they would’ve gotten mad at her for getting appetizers and cocktails. The funny thing is you don’t treat anyone like that regardless of status.

The food never fails here it’s always on point and the service is top notch. The Tower burger is mouth watering good must try. Also another staple on the menu is deviled egg. The restaurant is very dark and moody perfect for a date night. They have a great drink menu and all the cocktails are delicious. This is one of my favorite spots in LA.

Said it looked different, but we still enjoyed a few cocktails at the bar. It has a very classy, intimate, and upscale vibe. There's also no flash photography. I ordered a Mezcal paloma and my fiance ordered a pimms, they accidentally made it Timm's so they brought that drink out for him too. Our server was super tentative, nice, and informative.

Had a wonderful breakfast on the terrace. Food amazing but the service even better. Dining with endless views of the city as your backdrop is big plus. Definitely worth checking out.

I’ve been to this place many times and usually enjoy the ambiance, but last night was a huge disappointment. I stopped by with my date around 10 pm for cocktails and dessert. We started in the lounge, but since it wasn’t very comfortable, one of the servers kindly suggested we check out the restaurant side for a more romantic setup. There were at least 7–8 empty tables, and no one stopped us from walking over, so we sat down. That’s when things went downhill. Another server asked us to check in, which was totally fine, but when I went to the front, the hostess approached me with an extremely unprofessional and rude attitude. The very first thing out of her mouth was, “Are you having full dinner?” I explained that we had already eaten and just wanted dessert and cocktails. She flatly said, “Sorry, you have to order a main course.” Trying to be accommodating, I said I didn’t mind ordering something, but then she doubled down, saying it had to be two entrées, full dinner only. I completely understand policies if the restaurant is packed and we didn’t have a reservation, but this was late at night with plenty of empty tables. What really bothered me wasn’t the rule—it was the dismissive, almost hostile way she delivered it. In hospitality, attitude matters, and hers ruined the entire vibe. We ended up going back to the lounge, ordered something small, but honestly, I just paid the check and left because the experience was soured. I’ve overlooked slow or uneven service here in the past because I liked the atmosphere, but after last night, I’ll think twice before coming back.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Griffith Park. Not quite as popular as Sunset Strip, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Griffith Park is a sprawling urban oasis that offers a variety of activities for visitors. It features hiking and equestrian trails, providing opportunities to explore the natural beauty of Southern California while enjoying stunning city views. The park also houses popular attractions such as the Greek Theatre and the L.A. Zoo, making it an ideal destination for families.
I love walking this trail, but bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunglasses, and remember to take breaks if starting from the bottom to walk up. It's a great view, but holy guacamole it creeps up on you as there are steep inclines. Wear good walking shoes that have good grip. When you reach the top, enjoy lunch at the cafe' its a well deserved treat.

This Observatory is absolutely fascinating, educational and it's a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere is so relaxing as you take on the views of Los Angeles outside and learn so much inside. It's a great trip for couples, families, hikers, and bikers. More than one visit will be necessary to be amazed.
Diana C — Google review
Griffith Observatory offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Los Angeles night skyline. My wife especially loved it since it’s one of the iconic filming locations from La La Land, which made the visit even more special. Even on weekdays, it gets quite crowded, so it’s best to arrive early if you want to find parking easily. ✨ A must-visit spot in LA, especially for movie lovers and night-view enthusiasts!

A nice place where you can see the Hollywood sign and a enjoy a beautiful view. When we went it was early so the observatory was closed to public. If you do not want to pay $10 per hour, park at the bottom of the hill and just walk if you are able to. It will serve as exercise with breathtaking views.

Ain't no other Observatory in the world like it. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Make sure, if you want to see the sunset, GET HERE EARLY! MOST OTHER TOURISTS AND LOCALS WILL BE THERE TOO! Best way to get there, just use an Uber! ( easiest way ). We loved it; wish that it wasnt a 12 hour flight away 🇳🇿. Will, from Auckland, New Zealand.

Great park, I’ve been here only a couple of times so far, once biking, once for a short hike from the observatory towards a Hollywood sign. Great views, but the trail is quite exposed to sun, so we didn’t go far. We’ve seen mini-tornado - cool.

One of the coolest free experiences you can do in the city. Go at night during a weekday and the lines weren't too bad. They have a lot of exhibits inside the building to explore.

Griffith Park is an absolute gem in Los Angeles! The natural scenery is breathtaking, with panoramic views overlooking the entire city and the beautiful Hollywood Hills. The drive through the mountains to reach the park is peaceful and full of stunning sights. It’s a great idea to park down below and enjoy a nice hike up — the trails are well-maintained and give you plenty of chances to take in the amazing landscape. Once at the top, the Griffith Observatory adds even more magic with its fascinating science exhibits and the telescopes that let you see the city up close. A must-visit spot for anyone exploring LA!

Perched atop Mount Hollywood, Griffith Observatory is a stunning art deco landmark dating back to 1935. It offers breathtaking city views and is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The observatory boasts a high-tech planetarium and provides public telescopes for stargazing. It's also famous for its appearance in the award-winning film La La Land. Additionally, visitors can enjoy hiking trails leading to the observatory, with opportunities to witness panoramic vistas of downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Wow, this place is a must-visit! The views across LA are spectacular, and the inside is packed with fascinating information about the planets. We arrived early afternoon and found the place to be quite busy, but it was still spacious enough to feel comfortable. We opted for the bus up, as it was the most convenient and free option. You can also walk up if you prefer. One of the highlights of the observatory is the breathtaking view of the Hollywood sign. You could easily spend a day or afternoon exploring the exhibits and learning about the cosmos. My favourite part was seeing an actual piece of moon rock!

An absolute must-see in LA! We visited on a clear weekday afternoon and it was an unforgettable experience. The views of the Hollywood Sign and the sprawling LA basin are simply breathtaking, definitely bring your camera! We explored the free exhibits inside which were both fun and educational, perfect for all ages. But the real highlight was staying until sunset. Watching the city lights begin to twinkle on as the sky turned orange was pure magic. The atmosphere was so peaceful, with everyone just soaking in the incredible scenery. The best part? Admission to the grounds and exhibits is free, which is amazing for a landmark of this caliber. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's absolutely worth the effort, you can also choose public transit to get there! Whether you're a tourist or a local, the Griffith Observatory offers a perfect blend of science, nature, and iconic views. A true Los Angeles gem!
Diddy L — Google review
The view was beautiful from the roof of the observatory. You can see the whole city of Los Angeles as well as the Hollywood sign on the mountain. There is a telescope structure that you can carry in with no charge. You can see the telescope inside, and the roof of that telescope structure can spin, so the telescope goes through the whole roof, which is really cool. I would suggest walking around the rooftop and having a good look at that mountain and also the city from above. The weather is good. You can also see the downtown Los Angeles from far away. Transportation is simple. You can either drive there and pay $10 for car parking, or take a bus.

I visited the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, and it was an incredible experience! The view from the terrace is absolutely stunning — you can see the entire city skyline, the Hollywood Sign, and on a clear night, a sky full of stars. Inside, the giant pendulum is mesmerizing to watch as it marks the Earth’s rotation, and the telescopes are a real highlight — especially the public telescope on the rooftop, where you can see the moon and planets up close. The exhibits are fascinating, the atmosphere is inspiring, and the sunset view is unforgettable. A must-visit landmark for anyone exploring LA!

After living in LA for 9+ years I've finally decided to go inside this building. I had always view this place as a tourist trap; was I right? Yes. But it has its charms. The view of La is amazing. This place is filled with international tourists. The line to the main telescope is very long and may or may not worth the wait. The parking situation during peak is incredibly bad. Highly recommend to park below and hike up if you don't mind a bit exercise. Great place to take a date.
Wa W — Google review
In my almost 7 years of living here in SoCal (moved from Florida in March of 2019), I've had the pleasure of witnessing the splendor of this great Observatory in person several times (at least 3 or 4 times). If it's your first time checking it out, your best bet is to undertake the Ferndell Nature Trail (you can Google Map that name, or you can also put 2333 Fern Dell Dr, Hollywood, CA and you should be able to have the precise address on where to drive to). Entering Griffith Park from the south corner of Los Feliz Blvd and Fern Dell Drive will give you plenty of street parking options. Then the actual trail is about 1/4 of a mile up (sloped on certain areas) and 1/4 of a LOT EASIER mile down (sloped down, so gravity helps a lot). Griffith Observatory has a lot of free Exhibits, including the Foucault pendulum, a Tesla Coil, and several Halls displaying how telescopes work, how they have progressed over the years, technology-wise, and lots of exhibits about celestial skies. It's an incredibly rich and fulfilling experience, especially if you have family in town and want to show them one of the highlights of L.A. This observatory was also featured in Rebel Without A Cause, so a bust in honor of James Dean is on the West side of the observatory. 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back.

We were visiting LA for the first time this summer and this was on our list of main attractions. Some say the views are what makes this place a destination to visit, I would say its because of GTA V. Anyways, glad we came, super busy and packed (as expected). We visited towards the evening to catch the sunset. Parking can definitely be a hassle but we got lucky and found a spot in the parking located at this location. We werent sure if food was allowed but it appears people take food an have picnics. Not sure if thats allowed or they just don't tell you anything (and it's not allowed). Anyways, recommend coming here if you are a tourist, and locals should be proud they have such nice locations to go on a date or simply to catch views of the city.
Cristian V — Google review
It was amazing place for adults and children. And free!!! You will see very much model sytem related with universe such as seasons, solar sytem order and their speed… Btw you can see a real telescope at the roof but you will probably wait al least 20-30 min. And of the story you can see amazing LA view at night. Some exhibits need extra payment but most of the area visiting is free. You give at least half day for this place.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, established in 1960, is a renowned sidewalk area along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles. It features over 2,500 stars bearing the names of celebrities from various entertainment fields. The stars are adorned with symbols representing their area of expertise. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, people-watching, and indulge in treats like ice cream at Ghirardelli while exploring nearby attractions such as the TCL Chinese Theater and the Wax Museum.
Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must see and I've had an excellent experience there. The stars of all the famous celebrities, films, actresses, actors, singers and more. It was crowded but I still had a really great experience. I would highly recommend going to this attraction.

Definitely needs to be cleaned. One of the areas that we stopped by was smelling like pee. The stars also looked like they were being maintained. It seems like the stars around the Chinese theater is well taken care of but the rest are ignored. Over it was trying to find the classic ones.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an iconic and unforgettable experience that beautifully captures the magic and legacy of the entertainment world. Strolling along Hollywood Boulevard, you’re surrounded by history — each star represents the achievements of legendary artists, actors, musicians, and filmmakers who have shaped global culture. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of life, with street performers, shops, and cafes adding to the excitement. It’s amazing to spot your favorite celebrities’ stars and take memorable photos along the way. The area is well-maintained and easy to explore, especially near the TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre. Whether you’re a movie lover, a first-time visitor, or simply curious about Hollywood’s history, the Walk of Fame offers a fun, inspiring, and truly iconic experience. It’s a must-see attraction that celebrates the timeless spirit and creativity of the entertainment capital of the world.
LOUIE Y — Google review
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is definitely something worth seeing at least once! It’s fun spotting all the different stars and realizing how many famous names you recognize. There’s always a lot of energy, street performers, and interesting people watching, which makes it a unique experience. Parking can be a little tricky, especially on busy days or weekends, but if you’re patient you can usually find a spot in one of the nearby lots or side streets. I’d also recommend looking up the exact address of any specific celebrity’s star you want to see before you go — the Walk stretches for quite a few blocks, and this makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for. Overall, it’s a fun piece of Hollywood history and a great stop if you’re visiting LA!

Have been several times but just recently went for the first time in 17 years. Still as entertaining as ever. Especially people watching. Went to Hard Rock Cafe and had a couple martini’s, loved the ambiance

Los Angeles feels like a city stitched from sunlight and ambition. Walking along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you can almost hear the stars beneath your feet whispering their old stories. The air smells of palms, ocean breeze, and something unmistakably cinematic. Everything here moves fast, loud, and full of restless energy — as if every corner dares you to dream bigger. LA isn’t perfect, but that’s part of its charm. It’s dazzling, gritty, creative, and endlessly alive — a place that doesn’t pretend to be anything other than itself.
Alana M — Google review
Unfortunately, the place is so run down. Filled with street vendors, litter, and souvenir shops. Has not been upkept well and has lost the gleam and shine of what Hollywood walk once used to be. Depressing. Give it a miss

Historical landmark
Located in the heart of Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre is an iconic and opulent movie palace that holds a significant place in LA's film and entertainment history. It features the world's largest IMAX auditorium with a state-of-the-art laser light projector, making it a popular venue for film premieres. The theater also offers tours where visitors can explore the hand- and footprints of numerous Hollywood stars immortalized outside.
This is one of those must-see spots if you’re visiting Los Angeles. The outside is stunning, right on Hollywood Boulevard, surrounded by all the buzz of the Walk of Fame. You’ll also see the famous handprints and footprints out front, which is always fun to check out. Parking is definitely the biggest challenge — almost impossible to find right outside. Your best bet is to use nearby side streets with meters, one of the parking structures close by, or park at Ovation Hollywood (though validation is only offered by some businesses there). Inside, it’s a historic theatre with beautiful details and one of the best movie screens in LA. Whether you’re here for the history or to actually watch a movie, it’s worth the visit.
F T — Google review
The Chinese Theatre is an absolute must see spot on your trip to LA or if you’re in the nearby neighbourhood. This is a very cool tourist spot in particular as the outside exterior is impressive and also there’s a lot of celebrities hand and foot prints which you can see for free and take photos. I have provided a few below. I have NOT been in Theatre, although I intend to do so in the future but from seeing it outside and up close to the entrance it’s very cool and an awesome thing to add to a sightseeing visit. On the outside on the Main Street, there is some people trying to sell you stuff or tourist traps you could say but this isn’t fault of the Chinese Theatre.

Famous Hollywood spot. Very lively and busy. Lots of vendors on the street trying to sell you souvenirs, tours,... Quite a lot of homeless people around... Didn't feel as safe as when I came 13 years ago... Police was more visible at that time which made it 'safer'

I saw 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧: 𝘽𝙖𝙙𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 in the main auditorium on 11/7/25 at 4PM. Screen and Projection were excellent. Enormous, bright, sharp. Sound was very good. I wish the bass was a bit tighter. Curtains protected the screen until showtime and we were treated to some fantastic film scores while we waited. Four or five trailers played before the feature. The audience was respectful. I sat in F201, which was an ideal spot for me. (I like the screen to fill my field of view.) I wish the seats didn't rock back so easily. The view from there is best when "sitting up." I also wish there wasn't a center aisle. There should be seats right there in the middle. Plus the railing may block the bottom of screen during 1.43:1 showings.

Wow we had the private tour 20 dollars well.worth it we went round the theatre learnt about the history and was shown the foot and hand prints...well worth a visit but would love to go back and see a film
Andy W — Google review
The TCL Chinese Theatre is iconic and full of Hollywood history, definitely worth seeing. The handprints and celebrity footprints outside are fun, and the building is gorgeous. However, the tour schedule was really unclear. We came back twice hoping to join the guided tour, but were turned away both times, once because staff was on break, and another time for reasons that weren’t explained. It was frustrating and felt disorganized. If you’re just stopping by to see the outside, it’s great, but if you want the full experience, call ahead to confirm the tour times.

Surrounded by so many people selling in the middle of the boardwalk disrespecting the stars and covering them with there products occupying half of the boardwalk making at even more difficult to navigate around this landmark. Also lot's of trash all over the street. Please make this place shine again it deserves it. We all know that you don't need to do nothing to have visitors but do you want them to leave happy and be back?

In-N-Out Burger is a classic fast-food chain known for its customizable burgers, hand-cut fries, and shakes. The LAX airport branch is particularly famous, often being the first stop for visitors to Los Angeles. Celebrities like Tom Hanks have expressed their love for the burgers, and even the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty serves In-N-Out to A-list guests. The restaurant's vintage diner ambiance with palm tree-tiled walls and red and white booths adds to its charm.
I was recommended to give this place a try and I’m glad I did. It was full of people and couldn’t find any available table. The staff were very well trained and handled the crowd very well. I was greeted with smiles by the guy at the counter. As soon as I received my order I managed to have a table. The food was very delicious and fresh! The taste was very yummy and pleasing! I highly recommend their “Double Double” burger their Animal Style fries. Don’t forget to grab some pickled chili peppers from a self serve counter nearby the ordering counter.

Visiting In-N-Out is a quintessential Southern California experience. You hear all the hype, and with their intentionally limited locations, you finally get to see what all the fuss is about. The moment you step in, you're greeted with the same friendly service and classic menu that has made them a legend. The burgers are simple and delicious, and the fries are a must-have. There's a real buzz in the air, a mix of locals and tourists all enjoying a shared moment of deliciousness. It's more than just grabbing a bite; it's a taste of a true California institution and a testament to how good food and a strong community can make for an unforgettable experience.

In-N-Out Burger is an absolute classic and a must-visit for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful, and satisfying burgers. The quality is always consistent — the burgers are juicy, the buns perfectly toasted, and the vegetables crisp and fresh. Their famous “Animal Style” options take the experience to the next level, and the hand-cut fries and creamy shakes are the perfect complements to any meal. The service is fast, friendly, and efficient, with staff who truly care about providing great customer service. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming, with that iconic retro vibe that makes dining there even more enjoyable. What sets In-N-Out apart is its simplicity — a short, timeless menu done exceptionally well. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or indulging in a comfort meal, In-N-Out Burger delivers pure satisfaction every time. It’s a true California favorite and an experience worth repeating!
LOUIE Y — Google review
In-N-Out Burger : a name synonymous with consistent quality and a uniquely Californian experience. Yet, some locations transcend the ordinary, becoming landmarks in their own right. For a GTA fan like myself, this In-N-Out on Sunset Boulevard is more than just a burger joint; it's the real-life inspiration for GTA 5's "Up-N-Atom," and that alone made the visit special (not to mention being ON Hollywood Blvd). The iconic palm trees, the vibrant scene, and the unmistakable California vibe set the stage for what was to come. Despite a bit of a wait, the anticipation only heightened the experience. When the food arrived, it was clear this location takes pride in its craft. The fries were not just fried to perfection, but seasoned to an impeccable standard, a cut above the already high bar In-N-Out sets. The Double-Double, Animal Style, was the star. The sauce was perfectly balanced, the patties were juicy and cooked to perfection, and the lettuce was crisp and fresh. This location isn't just riding on its fame; it's delivering a top-tier In-N-Out experience. If you find yourself impatient while waiting for such a treat, you're missing the point. This In-N-Out isn't just a meal; it's a destination. Here's to hoping this Sunset Blvd institution continues to thrive, serving up perfection one burger at a time.

After much anticipation the burgers were just fine. The buns were over toasted and the sauce they used doesn't taste much different from Thousand Island dressing. But the burger is a step up from fast food joints. Comparing this to Shake Shack and Five Guys here In N Out would rank 3rd. The only one up In N Out has is the price point. The prices here are comparable to fast food places. Not the sticker price the other two charge as fast casual's. Slightly disappointing but wouldn't mind eating again here due to the price point.

This place is incredible! I’m Thai, so I’m definitely very picky about Thai food—but this place is the best! It’s so authentic. The flavors are fresh and delicious, just like in Thailand. The portions are huge! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in LA!

Walked in 10 minutes before the last call and staff was exceptionally kind and cheerful. They welcomed us in, seated us at a big table even though there were only two of us, and patiently took our order even though they were close to closing. The food was incredible! Flavorful and rich, we loved the yellow curry with duck. Eggplant was so tender, prices were so reasonable. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes!

Michelin Guide 5 years in a row, and likely to get it for 6 in 2025 too. With this high standard, I was ready to expect delicious and bold Thai flavor. Just here for lunch, my friend and I shared a classic Papaya Salad and Jade Noodle bowl. Both were delicious, the papaya salad is everything you want from a papaya salad: a little wet, crunchy, spicy, savory. Really good, but, nothing that I haven’t tried before. Coming from NYC, Jade Noodles haven’t made it out east, so this was new to me. 3 types of meat: Crispy Pork Belly, a familiar red BBQ Pork, and Roast Duck. All three meats were cooked well, and the jade noodles were just so good. Springy and fresh, with good consistency. All in all, really good Thai food in this famous part of town. The lady in charge went to Le Cordon Bleu, so there’s some 🧠🧠🧠 here.

I have celiac disease and the waitress was very informed about the gluten free options. I ordered the rice, the pork skewers and vegetables (honestly I didn’t need to order the veggies). The food was delicious. The portions were huge, one serving of rice can feed two people perfectly fine. The pork skewers were gigantic.

Ordered this fried chicken to go. This is probably the worst fried chicken I’ve ever had. Extremely rough, just hard to chew. Not sure if they deep fried multiple times but looked like they did. Also flavor just wasn’t there. After a couple bites I just couldn’t finish it. Gave the other chickens to my coworkers and they told me the same thing. Tough to chew and no flavor. I ordered other items, red curry and side pork. They were ok, not spectacular. But the fried chicken was what I was looking forward to the most and just extremely disappointed. Not coming here again.

Amphai Northern Thai Food Club

Thai restaurant
Amphai Northern Thai Food Club is a small, cozy spot in East Hollywood that offers an authentic taste of Northern Thai cuisine. The restaurant is known for its flavorful and sinus-clearing dishes, with the khao soi being a standout item on the menu. Despite its size, the place is filled with vibrant flavors and generous portions. Customers can enjoy dishes like spicy pork sausage and spicy jackfruit salad, both bursting with fresh herbs.
It’s a very small mom n pop shop that i found randomly when i was craving khao soi. ( free front parking). Only a few small tables inside so is a more suitable for takeout orders typa place but we got a table to dine in. The taste n service did not disappointed like other reviewers said, might have been one of the best I’ve ever received ngl. Food came out v quick and they open super late so that’s great. We ordered: - Chicken Khao Soi ($14): ultra flavourful creamy n filling, chicken was so tender the meat fell of the leg bone. One of the damn best thing to get here, so good that i bought another to go after! 😆😆 - Gang Kae Gai ($14): chicken sweet and soud soup w veggie. INSANELY SPICY we were sweating while eating it. It was very delish but it is so not for the faint of heart 😭😭 Bill came out to 46$ for 3 meals which is pretty good. Cheaper than other thai places usually. Service is awesome, the lady ( think her name is Panna?) refilled our water constantly and eventually just gave us 2 cups of thai tea FOR FREE probs to calm us down from constant water drinking lol😭😭 very appreciate it. Top tier food, even “topper” tier service 🙌👍👍👍

I’ll be honest—I’m not a big fan of Thai food in general. But my Thai friends brought me here and they love it, saying, “It’s legit.” So that definitely says something. If you’re not Thai or not used to authentic Thai flavors, be aware that some dishes can be very spicy. Personally, I didn’t find the food all that exciting, but I also haven’t visited that many Thai places, so I won’t pretend to be an expert. If you already enjoy Thai cuisine, this might be a great spot for you. But if you’re trying it for the first time and prefer a more traditional, sit-down vibe (instead of plastic forks and a casual setup), this place might not be your jam.

Amazing amazing restaurant, my girlfriend and I had a stellar meal. We had the khao soi, sai ua, sour pork sausage, pork salad, and jackfruit salad. The sai ua was superb, I’d say my favorite I’ve ever had. Just so well textured and loaded with aromatics that made it truly delicious and addictive. The pork salad was also exceptional, very well seasoned and spiced. Khao Soi was delicious too, I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is the ultimate Mom &Pop place for Norhtern Thai foods. Whenever we are in the area, this is the place to stop for excellent Thai food and at a very reasonable price. The complexity of all the flavors are to savor on. They mean business when it comes to to how spiciness. Even with the medium spicy, I was sweating. The popular dishes like Kao soi, papaya Salad, jackfruit salad and crying Tiger are a must try. They rearranged the area a bit so there are more seatings. Even greater now that they are opened until 2AM for us vampires roaming the Hollywood area. The ladies are great as getting what you need. Very quaint little place but packed with excellent foods and services.

Really loved this beautiful little gem! Delicious sausage, khao soi and larb. An even better experience from the sweet owners who took amazing care of us! Our glasses stayed full and they were engaging and so sweet! Truly heart warming experience coming in, you feel like family! Would definitely order the sausage again ASAP that was out of this world!

Excellent authentic Thai food!!!! Super friendly staff or owners I had Pan fried minced pork, liver pork, pork skin and fresh mint leaves in northern spices. I did not need to add any more spice. It was perfect!!! Open until 2am to boot!!

Recommended to me by most locals, I knew as a traveler I had to pop by and see what all the hype was about. And let me tell you? The praise is not only rightfully deserved, but also doesn’t Amphai a service. The food exceeded the praise in the best of ways, filling and fulfilling in every way.

Guests can indulge in imaginative Japanese cuisine, including traditional sushi and sashimi, as well as grilled items from the robata bar such as grilled avocado and A5 Wagyu.
It's definitely a must. ( Even if you were not a fan of all fish and seafood like myself) From the entrance the place was very inviting. The service was outstandingly professional and friendly. The food was pretty good. Service was top notch. Atmosphere is always cute and cozy in the BEST part of Sunset, of course. The Seabass Robata was pretty good, though I'd definitely order 4 or 5 next time, to fill me up. As far as rolls, I like Salmon, and they had a very good one. The cheesecake was not my favorite, but the presentation was beautiful. Overall I'd definitely come back.

what's going on with the clients and he has a bad attitude. I just want to explain to the waitress that it's not okay... it's not a good attitude [shaina] The previous management was better I'm sorry, but I need to talk. The company needs to check that there is no good work that way, there is no busy place.

A nice date night spot. Everything was quite good and our server Crystal was so nice and helpful going through the menu. They sat us out on the patio which was a little cold but the heaters made it comfortable enough. We only picked one item that Crystal recommended and it was the best. Maybe we should have gone with all her recommendations. lol

I can’t even begin to describe the 10/10 experience my tastebuds had here. The Waygu literally melted in my mouth. The drinks were delicious and refreshing. The vibe was classy and fun. The desserts I’m still thinking about. The manager, Christian, was the best. Made us feel so welcome and had us smiling and laughing the whole time. Someone give this man a raise. And our server DJ. The best!!! So funny and had the best smile. Give this place a go. Worth every penny

Fabulous dinner. Loved the patio vibe. Ordered the crispy tuna rice, some rolls (loved the katana roll) and some salmon nigiri (that melts in the mouth). Wanted to try the oysters, but they were completely sold out! Which I suppose just shows how popular they are. Staff is awesome as well, DJ was a great waiter for us.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is a renowned 20-acre campus in Miracle Mile, established in 1965. It houses an extensive collection of over 152,000 artworks and features diverse exhibitions. One of its most famous attractions is the Urban Light installation by Chris Burden, consisting of 202 cast-iron street lamps that have become an iconic symbol of the city.
I love visiting the lights at night and seeing the sphere all lit up in the different colors. This is A definite must see location. Add this spot to your list of stops when coming to California. You have the Lacma on one side of the road then the Berlin wall monument on the other with the car museum as well. I'm excited for the new addition to the museum and also the metro station to open up soon. I hope you have the same amount of fun as we did and still do.

Nice installations. You’ll love it if you loeve modern art. Free for LA county residences after 3pm. Labels are informative. Easier to get in book earlier online. However there’s the lights and the floating rock to see outside. They also do scheduled free tours. Parking ticket was $23 flat rate.

Nice art here! It's free for BoA credit card holder on the first weekend of every month, otherwise, the general admission fee is around $28, the parking flat is $23. The collections were amazing, I enjoy the Picasso art works, Buddha are collections and modern art! You can spend almost half day here, super fun. If you just passby, don't miss the outdoor public art, "Urban Light" and "Levitated Mass", they are perfect spot for photos~

If you’re a fan of modern and contemporary art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is something you can’t miss. The Urban Light installation is one of one of the most recognizable landmarks in Los Angeles which is located at the front of the museum. Inside the museum the galleries are captivating and wide ranging. It’s not the most extensive collection of art, but we did take a few hours to get through everything.
Tim L — Google review
It’s been a minute since I’ve been to LACMA, and even with continuous improvements and renovations, the museum still feels new, open, accessible, and most of all, soooo inspiring and interesting! New (and older) exhibits still feel fresh mostly due to the expansive feeling of each gallery, always giving the art (and guests!) some space to breathe and enjoy the atmosphere and experience. Out of town visitors and locals alike will enjoy the day at LACMA!
Michael K — Google review
I love the contemporary art sections, and there were a lot of cool live performances that I got to see. Would definitely recommend coming here for every season to check out some of the new installations.

Located in the heart of Los Angeles, La Brea Tar Pits and Museum is a unique site that offers a glimpse into the Ice Age. The tar pits, filled with black slush called asphalt, have preserved the remains of ancient creatures such as mammoths and Saber-tooth cats. The adjacent museum, Page Museum, displays an impressive collection of fossils including the Huge Colombian Mammoth exhibition and a wall of dire wolf skulls found in the tar pits.
I had always been fascinated by this museum since I was a kid. Loved dinosaurs, love science. Finally got to visit on a trip to the LA area and it is such a cool place. Lots of interested things to see. Beautiful grounds and fantastic displays.
Travis — Google review
A great place to visit for all ages. I recommend taking one of the guided tours as we learned so much more than if we had not. It’s hard to believe the asphalt is still seeping up all over the park. The fossil collection is spectacular. You can also see an excavation site as well as the scientists preserving the fossils.
MJ L — Google review
It was amazing to see the fossils and hear about the history. The displays make it easy to picture what the area was like thousands of years ago. It’s a place that’s fascinating to wander through, and worth the visit. We booked the tickets online but the queue to get in was short. Easily reached using public transport (bus).
Hansaniee K — Google review
I found the museum very informative. The decent was a gentleman, he provided us with facts we wouldn't have known without him. The displays were amazing. I was very intrigued that different areas were sprouting up tar and so they put neon green cones by them. The different pits are still be excavated and new animal remains are still being found. We had teens with us and they seemed to be interested in the displays too.
Kaylene D — Google review
Been wanting to visit here for years. The museum was very interesting and not over crowded like i thought it would be. We did not get to observe the excavation as it was later in the day and it had closed.maybe go there first? I found it very unfortunat that the LACMA was clearly being built over areas where there was more to be excavated as they found fossles while building the facility. LACMA is built all around and nearly 10 feet away from the active excavations and tar pits. Otherwise very cool to see. Would recomend.
Mackenzie N — Google review
We got our tickets through Groupon, and we parked across the street, which was $5 cheaper. The museum was beautiful and really interesting — my kids absolutely loved it. We also walked around outside, where you can see the asphalt bubbling and even smell it. It’s a unique urban park and museum where natural asphalt seeps have preserved fossils from the last Ice Age. Millions of fossils have been discovered here, including plants, insects, and a wide range of animals like dire wolves, ground sloths, and mammoths. The dire wolf collection was especially impressive. A great experience overall.

I had been here a lot times in different seasons but honestly as a local I had never seen this rock kinda structure and alien-like futuristic spot. This is telling me that you never see the whole page when you did not experience everywhere in every corner. So don’t always go far to find sth new! Start from where you are to find what you have missed. I really really enjoyed that afternoon in the gorgeous LA sunlight combining with the most beautiful and natural color (green and blue) in every scene. No fake! No ugly filter, no human commercial. No social and no purpose. It was just pure nature and wilderness. It is the best thing for me and it is free. I am just so sick of fake people and their intention behind. All they want is attention to fulfill their vanity. That is so stupid. Nature is powerful, effortless, and mysterious. Life and its vitality is everywhere if we pay attention to that healthy energy. It is sooooo magical. Isn’t it? I guess that’s why I’d like to share some of honest moments on google maps. It is not commercial or get paid or get sth in return. Just pure my feelings at the moment where I had been and you might be there before too.
Aitana B — Google review
The tar pits were a bit of a nightmare in their day - mucky tar under a body of water. Step in it and it was pretty much game over - and it was game over for thousands of prehistoric animals. This museum seeks to preserve these fossils and our community history with regards to this area. Multiple mastodons and sabre tooth tiger fossils abide within as well as a full wall of ancient wolf skulls - hundreds of them. Here you will learn of the tar pits, Southern CA history, and a heap of natural history. You get to see the pits, and what was found in the pits. The facilities here are fantastic - check out the website before you go as there are constant programs throughout the day. Parking can be tricky but there is a garage across the way and during the week, it wasn't too bad to get right on Center. This was an amazing journey - I felt like I was in Jurassic Park.

Shopping
Located at the border of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, the Beverly Center is a massive 8-story shopping destination offering a wide array of luxury designer shops, popular department stores, and dining options. Boasting 160 boutiques including big names like Hugo Boss, Dior, Coach, and Diesel, this iconic fashion hub has undergone several upgrades to compete with other outdoor malls in the area.
Ok so I feel like this place is less popular than it used to be based on the crowds. But it’s wonderful to hang out in. The views from above are incredible especially during sunset. You can find super expensive stuff as well as affordable clothes. I just went to a shop called Eden Sky and it was owned by an actual person not a corporation lol; also unique stuff for bridge brand prices. There are restaurants as well. So I definitely recommend this mall.
Heena — Google review
Beverly Hills is exactly what you’d expect , clean streets, palm trees, luxury shops, and a polished, upscale vibe. Rodeo Drive is fun to walk through, even if you’re just window shopping. You might even spot a fancy car or a celebrity! It’s beautiful and very well maintained, but also quite touristy and pricey. Great for photos, a nice lunch, and soaking in that “Hollywood lifestyle” feel. Just don’t expect anything super exciting unless you’re into luxury shopping.
Nicole Y — Google review
Attended this Hispanic Heritage Event for $10 and it was worth it. See the photos... Non-alcoholic drinks and healthy rimmed like a Margarita drink but with Mexican flavors and topped with a sour licorice. The red drink was a hybrid of dragonfruit and mango. The second was a spirulina (lots of potassium) and a lemonade. Second set of photos are of unique froyo -- the guys have a spot in Highland Park called "Swrlies."
Anne H — Google review
I recently visited the Beverly Center in L.A. and here’s how it felt: Parking was a breeze and super affordable (just ~$2 for an hour or two). The mall itself is sleek and well-laid-out — plenty of escalators and one elevator to help you move up to levels 6 and 7 with ease. On those top floors you’ll find the anchor stores (like Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s) plus luxury brands (think Prada, Louis Vuitton) and more accessible shops (Victoria’s Secret, Zara, H&M, Banana Republic). The six-floor lounge zone has lovely chairs, a calm vibe, and a few eateries to pause and recharge. I liked spending most of my time there. That said — if you’re looking for routine shopping or mid-price finds, keep in mind this place skews upscale and I found I couldn’t just pop in and pick up something casual at a bargain. If you’re after brands like Macy’s in full scale, then you might be better off elsewhere. This macys was missing some core women’s brands. On the plus side, across the street from Beverly Center there’s the Beverly Connection (and a nearby Target LA Beverly at 8480 Beverly Blvd) which offer more budget-friendly options. So if you’re doing a “luxury browse” and then want a casual stop, pairing them works nicely. Bottom line: I’d come back to Beverly Center when I want to browse and embrace a luxury-style outing. But for everyday shopping, I’d blend it with the nearby more accessible stores
Green K — Google review
The Beverly Center is one of the best malls in LA — clean, modern, and packed with a great mix of high-end and everyday stores. Parking is easy, and the dining options are solid (the steak and fries I had were excellent). Perfect spot for shopping, eating, and people-watching in the heart of the city.
Luis — Google review
Nice if you like to walk on Terrazzo floors and look in to empty stores. I've lived in the area for about 30 years. Since the original Hard Rock closed things went downward. The lime chicken and burgers were the best. You don't get anything like those today anywhere. The memory just hit me today when I was walking past a empty cafe with a $24 pastrami sandwich vs packed Hard Rock Cafe of nineties. :)
Flavor7 — Google review
Beverly Center is one of my favorite malls in LA. It has a solid mix of stores. Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s are super convenient anchors, and the overall shopping experience feels upscale without being overwhelming. The mall is clean, modern, and easy to navigate, with great views from the upper floors. The only downside: it desperately needs a real food court and more restaurant options. There are a few spots to eat, but for a mall of this size, you’d expect more casual choices and quicker grab-and-go places. Still, if you’re looking to shop at quality stores and enjoy a nice, relaxed mall vibe, Beverly Center is definitely worth visiting. Just don’t come hungry!

Johnny Rockets is an international chain known for serving burgers, shakes, and fries in a retro setting. Located near Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, the small establishment offers limited seating and a bit of bar space. While some find the prices a little high for the area, others appreciate the friendly staff. The veggie burger made with quinoa is highly recommended for its flavorful patty and customizable options. Visitors enjoy the delicious food and American diner ambiance, making it a place worth trying at least once.

First time ever eating at Johnny Rockets and it wasn’t to bad. I’ve had better but overall it still was a good experience at this location. First-The location is right near cedar Sinai hospital and there really isn’t any parking for them specifically. But there is a parking garage next to it for all the shoppes etc and I had an issue with my ticket to leave that garage but overall it seems kind of cheap for the area. The location itself is small. Not to many tables and a little bit of bar seating. But it’s clean and open which I think is good. The staff seemed really nice and worked together. Second-The food was alright. I personally think the chili fries were awesome. good chili and I get them without cheese (dairy issues) and they were still really good. The burger wasn’t anything to rave about. Had a lot better. But for the experience of a franchise like Johnny rockets, it’s worth trying. But overall I recommend this place!

Little pricey but I guess is the average in Los Angeles. We had 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 pepsi . The total was 50 dollars. Quality of the burgers were ok . I really loved the French fries. The food was really delicious I like the starter vegetable platter. The vegetables were so tasty and so fresh I could definitely tell it was farmed. Absolutely delicious! Everything tasted SO fresh, I enjoyed each and every dish we tried. We ordered: Farmers plate - greater starter to snack on Arugula salad - it was nice, a bit basic and amongst everything we ordered I’d say you could skip this but it’s nice to have salad on the side Spanish fried chicken - WOW! I don’t know what they’re doing with respect to seasoning but this was amazing, standout dish Sea bass - flaky, delicious, uniquely presented Sunchokes - very seasonal and they were super yummy, the sauce used was delicious and paired great with the rooty flavor of the sunchokes The cocktails and wine were also fabulous, and stellar service all around from the staff. Will definitely be back!

The portions are large, even though they may appear small. The wait staff are very attentive. Overall, it was a seamless experience with great food, ambient lighting and a cute outdoor porch area. Great date night place as well. I don’t drink alcohol however they do have an array of cocktails and a very extensive wine list.

We enjoyed a nice dinner during our visit to LA. The focaccia was delicious and had a perfect crust. I ordered the fried chicken and it was so tender and juicy. The portion sizes are smaller and meant for sharing. We ended up being quite full after our meal. The food was very good, but didn’t blow us away. All very simple and fresh, so can’t complain! The restaurant itself is very nice and great for a nice dinner.

First of all the service from all the team was excellent and especially our server who was so accurate, kind and knowledge. All dishes were excellent, but I would put a special spotlight the hanger steak and brilliant butterscotch pôt de crème dessert.

Fast food restaurant
Fast-food chain with made-to-order burgers, fries & hot dogs, plus free peanuts while you wait.
Out of all the burger chains out there, I honestly think Five Guys is the best when it comes to pure taste. The burgers are super satisfying, with the beef flavor and fresh ingredients really coming through. But here's the thing—you've got to pick your own toppings, so it’s important to choose wisely. If you're new to Five Guys, you might go for the "All The Way" option, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It can make the burger too soggy, and you might lose that great beefy taste. Finding the right mix of toppings that works for you is the key to getting the most out of your Five Guys experience.
Brandon Y — Google review
This Five Guys location on Wilshire absolutely hit the spot. I stopped in for a quick lunch and everything was exactly what you hope for—fast, fresh, and super satisfying. I ordered a double cheeseburger with grilled onions, jalapeños, and their classic Cajun fries, and it came out hot, perfectly stacked, and bursting with flavor. The burger was juicy without being greasy, and the fries were seasoned just right with that signature kick. The staff were upbeat and efficient, keeping the line moving while still making you feel like a guest, not just a number. The space was clean, well-lit, and had plenty of seating, which made it easy to kick back for a few minutes before heading out. You know what you’re getting with Five Guys, but this location goes above and beyond in doing it right.
Winston D — Google review
I’ve always been a loyal Five Guys customer because of the consistently high quality and great experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. My order was taken incorrectly: instead of a single hamburger with American cheese and toppings (mushrooms, tomato, lettuce, onions, etc.), I was given an extra combo with just a plain burger. On top of that, the overall quality was far below what I’ve come to expect from Five Guys: The fries had a strange smell and were not fresh at all.The burger patty, which is usually juicy and flavorful, was dry and unpleasant. Even the bun tasted off and lacked its usual freshness.Everything about this order felt substandard compared to the Five Guys I know and recommend to others. This experience was very disappointing, and I truly hope your team takes this feedback seriously and addresses why both order accuracy and food quality have declined so much.

First time having Five Guys and it truely was a 5 star experience. The burger was mouth watering and was so worth it. Came with my family and the customer service was amazing as well, since it was our first time we asked them what we should get and questions about the food and they were so helpful and very warming to us. Even the fries are amazing. Wish they had five guys in New Zealand as well.

It's a bit pricey fast food restaurant. The burger is pretty good, however the fries are a bit salty.

What really stands out to me about Five Guys is their exceptional customer service. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and were so friendly. They’re always attentive to my needs, and I appreciate how they go the extra mile to ensure I’m satisfied. It truly enhances the whole dining experience!

Five Guys is always a quick go to spot. The burgers are a bit expensive which is why I don't order them..... In n out burgers taste better and cheaper lol. I only ordered a Cajun and a regular fry but they were both really good. Not super greasy and flavorful.

Situated at the eastern end of the renowned "Miracle Mile" in Los Angeles, the Petersen Automotive Museum has been a prominent attraction since 1994. Boasting a diverse collection of over 300 vehicles, including restored antiques, race cars, and famous movie vehicles like one of the Batmobiles, this museum offers an immersive experience for car enthusiasts. With five galleries showcasing rotating exhibitions and automotive memorabilia, visitors can explore the rich history of automobiles.
Peterson Automotive Museum is one of the best museums I’ve ever been to and an absolute dream place for any car and car culture lover. Several floors of curated cars including the history of the American automotive industry, the future of driverless cars, famous cars seen on TV and in the movies. The layout of the exhibitions is well planned and spacious. Lots of info and photo reference for each car and there are even tours run by the museum. The racing history section is really cool and there is also a sim for visitors to try - be sure to book for this as it gets busy. Do not pass on The Vault, located in the basement and housing hundreds and hundreds of cars from every era. Including a room dedicated to F1 cars. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly, be sure to ask them all the question as what they know is truly impressive and they are all car enthusiasts. Excellent museum and so glad I visited.

Excellent selection of stunning cars. The variety was fantastic. Went here on a Sunday with my son. It was very easy to park and enter the museum. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a place for kids to do some crafts, build Lego cars and sit in a couple cars. The Vault was a must see. Absolutely loved the selection, especially the Formula 1 cars for my son. We were able to get really close to the cars and it wasn't too crowded. We had a great time here and I would highly recommend visiting.

The Peterson Automotive Museum is one of the most definitive car collections every assembled. Whether you are a lifelong enthusiast or casual visitor, the Peterson is a must -see. Located along Wilshire Boulevard's Museum Row, the Peterson is features a red facade wrapped in sweeping stainless steel ribbons. Inside the museum houses more than 300 iconic cars across three floor ranging from early automotive icons to cutting edge supercars, concept vehicles and movie props. Each portion of the gallery tells a distinct story and highlights the evolution of racing, engineering and design. The experience is thoughtfully curated, balancing historical insight with modern flair. Interactive exhibits and immersive displays make the museum accessible for all ages, while serious enthusiasts can explore “The Vault,” a guided underground collection showcasing some of the rarest and most historically significant cars in the world. Highlights include presidential/state vehicles, cars from the roaring 20s, F1, restored classics, and ultra rare variants. Note that The Vault is an additional fee on top of the regular museum admission, but well worth it for the automotive enthusiast. The Peterson delivers an all ages experience that is both educational and unforgettable!

This place is definitely my favorite car museum in the world. I had the pleasure of having Jeff as one of my guides. He is absolutely amazing. The knowledge that that man contains about the vehicles that are in that facility are unmatched. He completely made my day with the stories he knew in the history of the vehicles. Do yourself a favor if you’re gonna come out to this museum, do not skip out on the vault you will regret it. Going to this place for me was like going down memory lane and bringing back all the best memories of my childhood if you love vehicles you’re in the right place.

Bring forth the rides! So many museums have epic cars, but coming to the Los Angeles car lot like this,is AWESOME! I Mena the Mach 5 from Speed racer to Batman and the Popemobile! You can take photos of it all and enjoy some of the most beautiful car collection around. Don't miss it. Worth the Vault too!

OMG what a place and the cars in the vault wowww ! If you love cars and motorcycles it’s a must. Great displays for the kids as well The car displays are awesome with very good information about every car and bike Easy to find your way around and a great cafe Parking is a 4 story car park but get there early
Cee K — Google review
Fun museum to visit with the kids. The building design is stunning. The collection of car is okay, I personally liked the small the section on the history of the cars to be ever made and manufactured. They also had a nice Aston Martin exhibit the day we visited.
Maxime B — Google review
A MUST VISIT for any automotive enthusiast, the cars here were insane and so overwhelming by the scale of this collection. Highlights were the CLK GTR, Enzo, and EB110. If you even only like cars this is worth a trip. Me and my friend were amazed by the scale and the Vault is 100% worth it, less crowded and contained some incredible cars. We left feeling like we could come back again and again and still find more to see. Parking was tough, the sign said “Lot Full” but we pulled in and found a spot luckily when someone was leaving. Overall a 10/10

E.P. & L.P. is a trendy rooftop destination in West Hollywood, offering a stylish spot for rooftop drinks and Southeast Asian fare on its third-floor rooftop with expansive views of the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Hills. The wraparound wooden bar provides a chic setting to enjoy craft cocktails while taking in the scenery, and guests can also indulge in modern-Mexican cuisine at the sister restaurant downstairs.
Came here on a weekday for a networking event and was pleasantly surprised by the nice view, fun drinks and good service of the rooftop bar. We used some tables and high tops and it was perfect for 20 or so of us. The drinks were good and so was the food, I tried the chips and guac and it was very fresh and reasonably priced. Would come back again!

We are looking for a cute rooftop spot for a drink and light bite while we wait for our dinner reservation at 6:00. And found this is a cute spot online. Unfortunately they had screen covers covering all the walls, I imagine for the chiller weather in the evening, although it did harper the indoor outdoor appeal of being on a rooftop. Nonetheless we still enjoyed our time, I loved my Mezcal drink, I ordered "where love lives." I love the vibe, lots of plants and really nice view of the Hollywood hills. Great spot for a sunny outdoor vibe.

Stopped by on a weekday and really enjoyed it! The rooftop was super chill, music was solid, and the food and appetizers were actually really good — not just your typical bar bites. Only heads-up: bring your physical ID. They don’t take photo or digital versions. One of our friends had to walk all the way back to the car to grab theirs. Besides that, it’s a great spot to hang. We’ll be back!

The vibe and atmosphere of this place is beautiful with amazing view. We went for the brunch, the menu is very small and the food we chose was decent and affordable. The drinks were good and very cute. 8/10 recommend for a nice but chill outing.

We tried the lobster roll with fries and had a beer. The food was definitely tasty, but the portion was on the small side, especially for the price. Great flavors and nice vibe overall, but a bit pricey for what you get.

This is my first time leaving a negative review, and as a business owner myself, I understand how hard it is to run a business. However, this place truly needs to improve. Last year, my husband and I visited after work, not dressed up, and had a terrible experience. We were ignored by one of the girl, waited over 30 minutes for food, and even a simple request for napkins was dismissed. Meanwhile, another table that looked “fancier” received friendly, attentive service. Everyone can tell if you was there with me. I recently came back with friends, and while the food was served faster, the service still showed the same attitude. Customer service should treat everyone equally—appearance or wealth should never matter. Tips reflect the service provided, not how customers look.

What I love most about EP + LP is the level of customer service that this establishment maintains. The staff are always very attentive and friendly. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. You can see all of LA in any direction from the rooftop, which is decorated with lights and lots of pretty plants. As far as food & drinks go, I usually opt for some type of margarita (always super refreshing.) The tacos are my go-to entree--try the mushroom/vegan option!

I love visiting Sunset when they host “Sunset GT” once a month, every Sunday. I love their car shows they host! - Now if you want to attend Sunset GT, you have to register on their website, even if you are a spectator to attend the show. I know, I know it sounds ridiculous but it has its perks. I honestly want going to go to their show anymore because you had to register but I registered and went, and was the first one there and got a wrist band. I thought it would be a hassle to get it in, but it was easy. Once Registered, just go to their booth and tell them your name, and boom your in! They give you a wrist band, and with that wrist band; you get to get in every time with that wrist band. Don’t have to register every time now. See, it has its perks. Before, I thought the registration to get into Sunset GT was stupid, but I understand why they had to do it. I highly recommend registering online and coming to Sunset GT! It’s a great car show to go too, and you get to meet nice people, and nice car owners and obviously really nice cars as well!! It’s my favorite car show and you definitely see me always at Sunset GT! 😄

Ultimately, we want you to enjoy your stay at Sunset Plaza, especially with our free parking.

Collection of boutique shops.... Beautiful strip THE HISTORY OF SUNSET PLAZA DETAILS Only a century ago, Sunset Plaza was filled with orchards and poinsettia fields and bustling streets such as La Cienega were yet to be paved for automobile traffic. This all changed in 1924, when Francis S. Montgomery, built the first commercial development on what would later be called, the Sunset Strip.  This same collection of shops and cafes still exists, updated over time, but with the same calm, relaxed environment that has made it an oasis of shopping for over 90 years. Architect Charles Selkirk designed the original Georgian style buildings, and while they have been rebuilt and remodeled over the ensuing years, Sunset Plaza maintains the atmosphere that was created when it began. The low-slung buildings with landscaped medians and plantings, the boutiques, sidewalk cafes, and ample parking with spectacular views over Los Angeles; these have created a unique place in the urban fabric of West Hollywood. It’s the ideal place to spend an afternoon shopping, pampering oneself, and then having a relaxing meal al fresco. Sunset Plaza has had, as its many tenants, haberdashers, agents, decorators, salons, restaurants and nightclubs such as the legendary Trocadero. Several of the tenants are historically notable for the part they played in Hollywood and design history, such as photographer George Hurrell, and fashion designers Adrian and Don Loper, and Elizabeth Arden. Interior designer William Haines started here, after transitioning from his role as a screen actor. His famous slipper chair remains in production to this day, and is widely copied. Silversmith Porter Blanchard, whose creations were all hand wrought and are valued by collectors, had his studio here. His son-in-law Allan Adler continued the same tradition of hand wrought silver. Such tradition of craftsmanship continues with platinum smith Philip Press. Sunset Plaza has remained, through the Depression, World War II, the tumultuous 60s, and the glamorous 80s. And although it remains, it is far from static. Each era has it’s own tenants and stories. In the 60s, designer Holly Harp opened a boutique with beautiful clothes, translating hippie regalia into haute couture. In the late 70s, the famed Le Dome restaurant opened and remained one of the entertainment  industry’s favorite dining spots into the 90s. Most recently, Sunset Plaza was chosen as a location for Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party, where a large tent was built to highlight the gorgeous views over Los Angeles. A visit to Sunset Plaza is one of the consummate experiences of traversing the Sunset Strip. Taking a break from the hectic traffic and non-stop growth in the area is one of the most enjoyable ways to while away the afternoon. (Sunset plaza website)

The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker is a trendy Hollywood cafe with a chic and modern design featuring golden tones and bright yellow booths. It offers a diverse menu of seasonal dishes, house-butchered meats, baked goods, specialty coffee beverages, and craft cocktails. This iconic spot is popular for its sun-drenched patio that has become an Instagram-worthy location.
We had such a great time here—it was absolutely worth the wait! Even though it’s right in the heart of West Hollywood, the vibe was relaxed and inviting. Our waitress was wonderful—super kind and helpful with recommendations. The food was incredible. We tried the vegan burrito, beef and breakfast empanadas, plus the truffle chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious! The chicken sandwich was especially flavorful, but definitely on the spicy side—so keep that in mind if heat isn’t your thing. We came right at lunchtime on a Saturday, so there was a wait, but it was completely worth it. Highly recommend!

We canceled a visit to Los Angeles in 2021 during a Covid resurgence, so that’s exactly how long I’ve been waiting to eat here. It was worth the wait! I brought my kids this morning and they liked their pancakes. But, me? The latte art made my day. The lemon ricotta pancakes? The best I’ve EVER had. Seriously. Made in a cast iron pan, they stayed hot. They melted in my mouth. They were truly exceptional. I made reservations about two weeks out without issue and found parking right out front. I have no idea if I’ll be back, but this is a rare meal I know I’ll remember for years to come.

We went for brunch at 1:30 pm (indoor dining, table for 8) and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was inviting and charming - bright, chic, West Hollywood‐style aesthetic. Our server, Shamera, was exceptional. She greeted us warmly, made thoughtful recommendations, checked in on us at just the right times, - without being overbearing, and ensured everything ran smoothly. Although a service charge was already included, we chose to tip extra because Shamera’s service genuinely stood out. Food was fresh, well‐presented, and enjoyable, in line with the high marks the restaurant gets for its menu of modern California cuisine with European influences and specialty coffee beverages. Best pancake I’ve had (Lemon ricotta). In short: a beautiful spot with great food and truly friendly, attentive service. We’ll definitely return!

The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker in LA is a brunch lover’s dream with both hearty and fresh options that absolutely deliver. The Fried Chicken Butcher’s Benedict stood out for its juicy, well-seasoned chicken, crowned with perfectly poached eggs and a rich hollandaise sauce. Adding crispy bacon took it to a whole new level—the smokiness and crunch from the bacon complemented the tender chicken in the most satisfying way. Each bite had the perfect balance of textures, and the portion was satisfying without being overwhelming. To accompany the meal, the Aperol Spritz was a highlight. Refreshing, lightly bitter, and perfectly bubbly, it had just the right amount of sweetness to pair with the savory flavors on the plate. The bright orange hue and classic presentation made it a great brunch cocktail, keeping things light and festive. The Butcher’s Wrap offered a lighter, green-leaning option but didn’t sacrifice taste one bit. Stuffed with fresh greens, juicy chicken, and paired with a side of vibrant fruit, it satisfied on both health and flavor fronts. The spinach wrap was tender yet sturdy, packed with nourishing ingredients for a guilt-free brunch choice that still felt indulgent. Overall, the service was attentive, the ambiance welcoming, and the food more than lived up to the hype. Whether indulging in the Benedict or seeking something lighter like the wrap, this spot is a West Hollywood brunch essential.

The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker is one of those iconic LA brunch spots — bright, floral, and very Instagram-worthy. Service was friendly, and we were lucky to find street parking right in front. The signature rainbow latte was beautiful but tasted like a regular latte with a very mild coffee flavor — great for photos, not much else. The Skillet-baked Seafood Omelette wasn’t really an omelet, more like a flat egg base topped with smoked salmon and squid rings. The Butcher Benedict was okay — crispy fried chicken, well-poached eggs, but the sauce was a bit too heavy. The side potatoes were actually the best part. We spent over $100 for two people, which felt pricey for the quality. Overall, a nice place for the vibe, but not for the food.

It was my first time trying this place, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, and the food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Love the brunch here! The food was fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive without being rushed. Everything from the coffee to the mains was spot on. Definitely a place I’d come back to for a weekend treat.

We came here for brunch and ordered the Butcher’s Burger and the Truffle Chicken Sandwich. Both were delicious the burger was perfectly cooked, and the sweet potato fries were good. The chicken sandwich was good too, and the coffee had a nice subtle acidity. I added an extra shot to make it stronger. Their cocktails are also really good. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, making it a perfect spot for brunch. It gets quite busy, and parking can be a bit tricky, but there’s a paid parking lot right next door ($4 for 2 hours)

Sushi Ginza Onodera is a high-end restaurant located in West Hollywood, offering an omakase-only dining experience. With several outposts in Asia and the U.S., this branch follows a no-tipping policy and provides a quick-paced omakase experience.
Reserved a Christmas Eve omakase at Sushi Ginza Onodera with my family and really enjoyed the experience. It is pricey, as it’s $425/pp plus 20% service charge (but no tios accepted). We had Chef Yohei Matsuki serving up our courses and it was a treat to watch him work. Note that you pay in advance when you make the booking online, but at the restaurant, you need to pay for the water ($10 per bottle of still Saratoga water) and drinks. Tea is refillable and is $5. We received so many courses and left feeling full. This is what we ate: - Japanese poke fish - a strong start. I added all the wasabi which may have been a mistake since it made me sneezy but the fish texture was very nice. - Japanese octopus - this had a nice yuzu wasabi to add. The meat was tender and warm. - Steamed egg chawanmushi with caviar and uni - Japanese bonito with homemade garlic sauce - this was my favorite piece. I really enjoyed the garlicky sauce. - Hokkaido herring with crab - the fish eggs popped as you bit into a mixture of crab and fish; my dad liked this one a lot. - Japanese ponzu tiger fish (note that you’re not supposed to eat the kombu) - this was warm and brothy with a bright flavor - Sea bream nigiri - this had a spritz of yuzu and a more firm texture. - Hokkaido fish (didn’t catch the name) marinated in soy sauce - very soft and yummy. - Japanese pike soup - this had some corn embedded and a bright plop of citrus flavor - Japanese mackerel nigiri - this comes from a city in Japan called Oita that is famous for its mackarel, as the mackarel mist swim against the currents and are very strong. - There was an option for add-ons ($50 each) of either abalone from the Chiba prefecture or a toro hand roll with caviar. - Japanese carafish nigiri - another firm piece of fish - Uni roll - this was delicious; Chef individually filled each seaweed roll meticulously - Tiger prawn nigiri - cut into halves, the chef showed us the prawns prior to preparing them. These were very fresh and from Japan as well. - Miso soup - umami broth with green onion - Japanese 9 day dry aged fish (missed this name too) nigiri - extremely tender with just the right amount of soy sauce - Bluefin tuna nigiri - this is a nice hefty portion; he zested you y onto the fish and it was lovely - 9 day aged toro nigiri - this came with a certificate; the tuna caught was 450 lbs caught in Hokkaido this was deliciously fatty and rich. - They gave us hojicha tea as a palate cleanser - Ocean perch nigiri from Japan; it was a lightly salted taste that was hearty - Unagi Nigiri with unagi sauce - the fish was super soft and was a great way to end the savory meal. The meat just melted in my mouth. - For dessert, we had a matcha custard with a gold-flecked azuki bean. It was delicious smooth and not too sweet. The matcha was delicate and well balanced.

Amazing food and staff. Personally this was my first fine dining experience, and I’m happy that it was. Every dish was delicious, and really opened up my mind on trying out new food. Early on staff noticed that I’m left handed, and would position future utensils on my left to accommodate. To some, that may seem like a small detail. In my opinion however, that level of attention to detail is a testament to what makes this place such a unique, and unforgettable experience.

It was a Michelin one-star omakase. As expected, the service was superb. I was impressed by the meticulous attention from start to finish with the guests, and it was impressive that they showed and explained each and every photo of the food on the course. After finishing the course meal, the extra caviar maki we ordered was absolutely superb. I recommend you to try it at least once. The only regret is that we don't accept alcoholic beverages to bring with you. If so, it would have been better if there were many kinds of alcoholic beverages to drink with the food, but that was the only regret. However, overall I was satisfied, and I had a great time thanks to the kindness of the staff.

Amazing omakase experience. Yes it’s very traditional but I really liked that aspect. Everything was just very simple in presentation and exquisite in flavor and composition. Only two other parties were there and about 8 people in total. It was occasionally difficult to understand what fish we were being presented in the nigiri section but the host came around and would show you the picture of the fish and the name if requested. 20 dishes in total including 2 optional add one. I always opt for the add on! The hand roll stuffed with uni and caviar and I forget what else is a must. Not sure why reviews say parking is hard or the restaurant is difficult to find. It’s very easy to find on the street though not ostentatiously labeled and there’s literally public parking two doors down. All and all very much worth the experience. At $400/pp I love that they don’t accept gratuity so that is actually including in your pp price. This meal overall was one of my less expensive 2 Michelin star experiences lol.

My biggest piece of feedback would be to eliminate any "upsells" from the experience (it's already $400 per person jeez...). Halfway through the meal they ask you if you want to pay *another* $65 for a "roll" of some kind. Turns out it's a really awesome bouquet kind of thing that's better than anything else on the menu (literally better than everything else). Many issues with this experience: 1) What are you doing upselling after a $400 entry price? but more importantly 2) Anyone who passes on the bouquet leaves with a feeling of exclusion being their last part of the experience as everyone else is taking Instagram pics with their awesome bouquets. I don't like to ding a restaurant on things that are not easy to change, but this aspect of the menu is 100% in the control of the owners, and they should change it. We passed on the upsells because we were worried we'd be too full, and then not only were we not full at all, but we also had to sit there while everyone else got the best part of the meal. One other piece of advice is to lock the door during a session. Some tourists wandered in halfway through and asked if they were taking "walkins" like fools; that shouldn't be a part of the experience. In contrast, with Nozawa Bar for example, everything is included, you actually get *more* food (we went there last week), and it's only $225 per person. You also get to swap items if you don't like them and I also prefer the "backroom" atmosphere but that's a personal preference.

I loved this place. Everyone there were so welcoming and the Taisho (The head chef) was super entertaining and made me feel like I’ve been there before. They are so proud of what they provide and all the fish are coming from Japan. Not only they are coming from Japan but also coming by first class over night shipping. They take care of their fish so well and I was so impressed when I ate. I’m so picky when it comes to Shari (rice) and yes! They use Akashari, which is red vinegar and rice. Their rice is sooo fluffy so you feel like you can eat a lot! I’m so so happy that I finally went there tonight! I’m hoping to come back soon and thank you again so much for everything! Ah btw, their desert was amazing too! The female chef makes the desert and we loved it!

What an experience. Omakase like we never had before. 22 courses of such innovative food..so many other dishes and not just sushi. Service was impeccable and to watch the chefs at the sushi bar is like watching a well orchestrated dance. Everything just flows. Well worth the experience and definitely worth the money.

Best omakase experience, however it is super expensive. If you love exploring the edges of the world, you should try it. It was amazing, but I won't go again 😀 for the price. About $400 per person. Extra apprx. $150~250 per person for Sake.

Cafe
Strings of Life (S.O.L) Café is a vibrant Australian-inspired spot tucked away in West Hollywood. The café offers an all-day menu featuring colorful and fresh dishes like everything-bagel-inspired potato cakes, grilled corn and pea fritters, and chutney-tinged breakfast burritos. Their beverage selection includes a variety of espresso drinks and wellness beverages, such as the date-sweetened mushroom chagaccino.
One of the best breakfast burritos 🌯- the dirty roadie! Everything delicious here - also had avocado toast, coconut chia pudding and coffee. Cute vibes and kind staff! If you don’t like this, not sure what you’d like!

Somewhat hidden cafe with peaceful outdoor dining. Came here for a late lunch with some friends but they still served the breakfast menu at 2pm on a Saturday. You order at the counter and receive a number for the waitress to bring out your food. Even though it was in between normal meal times, the wait was pretty long - it took about 30 minutes to get our food. I opted for the veggie burrito bowl and it was extremely filling. There was a good amount of avocado and the sweet potato had a nice flavor. Fries were thin and crispy. Credit cards accepted. Metered street parking. The entrance is down an alley but there is signage at the opening.

Strings of Life somehow manages to be both in the middle of everything and feel like a secret garden. Even when it’s packed (which it often is), there’s this easy, quiet intimacy to the place that makes it feel like a neighborhood retreat. Parking’s a bit of a test—tiny lot in the back, but I’ve never waited more than a few minutes to score a spot. Totally worth it. The food is very good—bright, fresh, and well-considered without trying too hard. It’s the kind of menu where you find your go-to and then spend the next three visits trying to top it. And the coffee? Excellent. Strong, smooth, and clearly made by people who care about what they’re doing. Service is brisk but friendly, and the vibe is modern Aussie café with a touch of L.A. cool—think clean design, stylish crowd, and low-key chatter under the trees. It’s rare to find a place this well-loved that still feels unhurried. Strings of Life pulls it off.

i love this place! we’re visiting LA and were hoping to grab some food and coffee near melrose ave and all the cafes were SO busy until we stumbled across SOL we ordered the vegetarian burrito bowl and bacon & cheese croissant and they were both amazing my iced americano was also delicious the store is so cute and not busy and spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating the baristas and music were also amazing would 10/10 recommend
Nancy N — Google review
TLDR: go to Zinc or Urth next door. Cute spot tucked away off melrose. Service was rude. Coffee is weak (they use one shot in an Americano). The plastic smells rancid. Prices are inaccurate. The printed menu says a lower price but the POS will charge you $0.50 more on your order. And they won’t change it Make your pricing match the paper and electronic system and put two shots of espresso in an Americano.

I've been coming here for the past two weeks while on holiday and i can't praise this place enough ! The food, coffee and service are on point! I often see the owner mingling with his guests and love how he knows most of them on a first name basis... including their dogs ! If you want a spot to chill, work and get away from the LA noise....stop by, you wont be disappointed! And did i mention the coffee.....FABULOUS

I was staying in the area for a few days and discovered Strings of Life on my first morning. It bills itself as an "Aussie " cafe and you could tell that it was, as it had flat white coffee on its menu - an Australian invention. I wanted a long black coffee and Jenna made it just my like favourite cafes back in Australia. I went back every morning after that - great coffee, great service and great atmosphere.

My experience at S.O.L Cafe was quite enjoyable. The breakfast burrito and orange juice were delicious, but I must admit it's on the pricier side. Nevertheless, the quality of the food made it a worthwhile visit. A solid 4-star experience.

Donut shop
Coffee shop
Bob's Coffee & Doughnuts is a beloved institution at the Original Farmers Market, serving up freshly fried cake and yeast donuts since 1947. Renamed by Bob Tusquellas in 1970, this family-run shop offers a variety of traditional flavors, including an exceptional apple fritter and old-fashioned donut that pairs perfectly with their no-frills coffee.
I loved their donuts, the service was excellent, but I can recommend the big glazed donut and the apple donut, it's to die for because it's so delicious. The coffee is excellent to accompany the donuts, don't forget to try them, they're divine.
Mildred B — Google review
WOW, the donuts at Bob’s Coffee and Donuts are amazing! We brought some friends from out of town to the grove farmers market and stumbled upon this biggest donut I have ever seen in my life, The Texas haha. It was funny sharing the donut, it felt like everyone walking by was staring at us, and some people stopped to ask where we got it from lol. Definitely a fun experience to check out!
Nate C — Google review
Fantastic spot! We had the vanilla-filled, chocolate-coated donuts and the classic glazed—both were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent. Service was fast and friendly, and everything hit the spot. A must-visit if you’re craving a quality donut!
Hakan G — Google review
Cute place with a great selection. Monica is friendly and helpful. Ordered an apple fritter and one old fashioned glazed. Both were good. Not great but worth the price.
Dave W — Google review
The staff recommends the apple fritter and it was so great (greasy but delicious). Plenty of seats and coffee was descent too
Sam K — Google review
Donut shop is located within the farmers market. I got a twisted glaze and the pumpkin cake donut and both were very good! They didn’t feel oily or too sweet.
Jena H — Google review
The best ice blended coffee I’ve had, doughnuts are fresh and huge. Will be back !
Nicholas S — Google review
I've been coming here for many years but haven't been here for a long time so I was happy to see that it's still the same solid donut experience. Good variety and the donut quality is good, although if you come in the morning when they're fresh it's even better. What I liked this time was that the jelly donut had a real jelly inside, not the "red gel" stuff you usually get at other donut shops! Be warned that the coffee temperature is some of the hottest I've ever experienced!
