San Diego Zoo Safari Park, located 30 miles northeast of San Diego, is an 1,800-acre wildlife sanctuary that houses over 300 species of African and Asian animals. It offers visitors the chance to witness rare African and Asian mega animals in a natural habitat setting.
Delightful experience here with wife and family. We did some of the hands on experience which included close ups with the koala and also feeding another animal (zebra and also the one in our photo). While we are not zoologist, the animals did seem relatively comfortable and their enclosure decently large. We loved how clean the facilities were and readily available restrooms for those post meal needs. Walking around the whole place def takes a few hours and we love the themed atmosphere as well. Would def recommend people come here and also to the zoo. Both are world leaders in zoo keeping and a great place to see animals you may not see elsewhere.

This is always a fantastic experience for kids, but the adults enjoyed it just as much. Ideally, go take the bus tour first thing when you get there. It gives you a good overview of the park, and you'll beat the crowds the rest of the day. The avian show was very entertaining and we of course learned a lot of fascinating info on the various birds and other bonus animals they brought out.
Laurence B — Google review
Brilliant park, expansive highly suggest getting the open air shuttle through the safari plains, getting close enough to see animals wandering or resting and great photo opportunities. Only complaint is “zoo radio” near the food which is too loud and not in keeping with a nature outdoor experience. Loved the tiger exhibit sounds! Can’t wait to see the new elephant exhibit later this year!

The San Diego zoo Safari Park. 15500 San Pascual Valley road in Escondido California. We are season ticket holders and pay $280.00 per year for two of us with free parking included. It is a magical place to view wildlife in their natural habitat. They also have lots of birds, flowers and plants. If you are up to it the paths are abundant and easy to walk. If not there is a tram which is included in the 76.00 each adult pays for a day pass. The tram is about a 40 minute adventure through the natural savanna reserve. The park is all handicapped accessible and they offer rental carts to ride around the paths inside. Parking is $17 dollars per carload. I have included some of our pictures from past visits. If Escondido is to far for you the San Diego Zoo near downtown is awesome at the same above listed prices. Membership includes two free passes you can use anytime.

What an excellent experience! So much fun! Took the deluxe Safari, which was well worth the additional cost even if you only pay for entrance into the park you will thoroughly enjoy yourself as there is so much to see and do. The animals are still abundant and the foliage is gorgeous!! We made it a day trip from Palm Springs and it was well worth the effort!
Pamela W — Google review
A wonderful park to visit! Animals in a natural environment, beautiful grounds full of interesting flora and fauna. We walked for three miles, many inclines so you will get some exercise! Plenty of benches though to take rests as needed. They offer hot air balloon rides and safari tours for an extra fee.
John K — Google review
The best family day out we have ever had. The views round the park are like nothing we have ever experienced before. You can spend a whole day here easily and very good value for money. They have a hot air balloon which does cost extra but worth every penny to see the view of the whole park!
Jemma S — Google review
What a wonderful place! It delivered on everything it was supposed to be. A great vibe and a fun place for kids. Here are some tips that can be helpful when you’re going with kids (we had 2 under 2) •bring extra water and ur own bottle (there were barely places to refill and water bottles were $$$) •bring a double stroller! •it was VERY hot when we went and there’s not much shaded areas and LOTS of walking so bring a stroller fan, hats, sunscreen •the $20 extra fee for the priority pass for the tram is worth it if you have kids bc the line was 50 minutes long •download the safari app - it has a live feature on your phone that helps you plan the day and directions to sites. So much better than walking around aimlessly! We saw all the animals and went on the Africa tram. But my highlights were: *elephant viewing inside the herb garden (you have to go in the herb garden to see them. It’s like a hidden hideaway right next to the campground area) *the atrium. These were so beautiful and calming. Highly rec This place is HUGE. Lots of walking and hills. So wear comfy shoes and clothes and bring all the things you need. Enjoy!!

Africa Tram

Exhibit
The Africa Tram Safari is a popular tourist attraction at the Safari Park that allows visitors to ride in tram cars around the free-range enclosure while the tour guide points out different species. The ride lasts approximately 20-30 minutes and is well worth it for those looking to get up close and personal with some of Africa's most majestic animals.
This is the most distinct part of the park. This massive campus simulating the African plains includes a large herd of giraffe, rhinos, zebras, gazelle, and other herbivores. The tram line is usually long. We waited for about 80 minutes. The ride itself includes commentary by the driver and the total trip takes about 15 minutes. You can't come to this park and not take the tram. Totally worth it.
Stig's I — Google review
This thing is awesome. You get to see all the animals up close and the giraffes were eating when we came by so they were like ten feet away. Even better- it’s part of your ticket! $20 for priority but I didn’t have to wait too long.
Billy T — Google review
There is a very long line, and if you have young children, they become cranky.. We wanted to arrive early. However, California traffic is unpredictable, so it was late morning when we arrived. This tour is on the far side of the park. We went directly to this tour. The line is very long, and we waited at least 1 1/2 hours to get on the tram. The animals, by this time, are hot and hiding, and the animals that are walking about you can barely see them in the distance. They have acres of land for them. That is wonderful. However, they look very far away. Its wonderful they have a lot of room to roam. My husband and I decided we won't be back. It was not worth our time, and it is pricey. We're glad we contributed to the financial support of these majestic animals and the work they do to protect wildlife in Africa.
Marlene W — Google review
Lovely animal park, I just set my expectations too high. A lot of bird species and plants. Not a lot of animals either. A lot of deer/antelope species. I did see a few giraffe and a rhino, and 2 sleeping lioness which was cool. Don't get your hopes up like I did. I wanted to give my kids and grandson a trip they wouldn't forget, but very disappointing. Once in your lifetime is enough, especially for how much tickets were and then the prices for any other features or truck tours. Not worth the wait for the tram ride, it's a close version to Disneyland's Jungle Cruise tours.
Mandy T — Google review
THIS CLOSES AT 4PM SO COME EARLY. The line is a long wait, but it is a pretty ride, and THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO SEE GIRAFFES, GAZELLES, CAMELS, ZEBRAS, AND OTHER ANIMALS. If you don't take this tram, you miss all those animals. Also, there are NO bathrooms once you get on the tram, and none in the line. Go to the bathroom before you get in line. Sit on the DRIVER side (left side) of the tram for the best views.
Alex — Google review
It's was great , I wasn't able to see much of the animals due to the winds .
Adner D — Google review
Lots of fun. 25 minute tour through the African habitats in the park. Zebras, giraffes, rhinos, etc, etc. Actually sitting rather than walking!
Guilderlandguy — Google review
We had an amazing experience especially because we could bring our disabled kid with us without any problem. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The staff were very nice and helpful too. You can see animals in their almost natural habitat in a very beautiful safari park.

Nestled in the San Pasqual Valley near Escondido, Cordiano Winery is a charming family-owned vineyard and winery. The winery boasts a picturesque outdoor dining area with stunning views of the surrounding valleys. The Cordiano family, originally from Calabria, Italy, fulfilled their dream of producing Italian-style wines when they converted their avocado farm into a vineyard in the 1990s.
Views are amazing at this winery if you get a table near the mountains. We made a reservation for 2 people at 4 pm and it wasn’t too busy. Around 6:30 pm, it got so crowded! Lots of people bring their kids and dogs. We got the wine flight for $25. The wine was pretty flat. I still give it 5 stars because the food, views, and service was great. Could have more air fresheners in the bathroom. Overall great experience.
CHRISTIANNE J — Google review
This is my first time visiting this winery. It's located in a spot with a great view. I think the best time to come is probably at dusk. The food seems to be mainly pasta and pizza. The pizza was very delicious.
Hitoshi K — Google review
Overall, a fantastic experience from the nice, fun drive up the hill to the beautiful grounds and view to the very good service, food, and beverages. They have a wide range of wines made from local grapes as well as some from other regions. I'm not a wine expert as they pretty much all taste good to me! My only wine criticism is the $25 price for a sampler totalling only 8 oz of wine. I think they'd generate more bottle sales by reducing that price and/or adding more samples. The food, which you order at the beverage counter for delivery to your numbered table, was very good: Meatball appetizer: three big balls in tomato sauce with a delicious whipped ricotta and lightly toasted crostini bread. Minor criticisms are that the meatballs, which are clearly a blend of beef and pork, have too much of a pork flavor and are a bit too dense for me. Also, I don't know which brand of canned tomatoes they use, but it doesn't have a great, rich tomato + spices flavor. They should be using one of the Stanislaus brands like Alta Cucina, 7/11 Ground, or Tomato Magic. Calamari appetizer: a medium-sized plate of large and reasonably tender rings with a few tentacles. Minor criticisms are that they could have been left in the fryer a bit longer and served with tartar sauce in addition to the marinara. Pizza: very good crust with a golden bottom and cornicione with tasty toppings. They claim it's New York style, but IMO it's really not. New York style has a thinner, more chewy crust while this is lighter and more bread-like, but not too thick. I don't know how long they ferment the dough, but it could use more flavor. While the topping were very tasty and generous on the Stagioni version, they were a bit too sparse on the Meat version. On both, the tomato sauce was barely noticeable. They need to add a little more and use one of the brands mentioned above to take their pizza up a level.

I love this place and try to visit every time I'm in Southern California. Excellent Italian family-owned vineyard. It's been inspiring to watch it grow over the years. Great wine Excellent food Fabulous service Gorgeous views I feel like I've been transported to Tuscany when I visit. Tiramisu ❤️

It's our first time here at Cordiano winery and the place was so beautiful! The drive up to the to winery is also so refreshing and makes you feel you are headed to a countryside. I recommend a reservation to get a table with a view. You would need to walk over to the bar counter to place your food order. We tried the breadsticks with a garlic flavor, the best we have had in San Diego. The basil pesto pasta was equally good. The vegetarian pizza was ordinary, Tiramisu was a nice finish to wrap up a beautiful evening with incredible sunsets. Overall, the food was great and the views make it worth the visit.

We visited on Thursday and enjoyed the food, the service, and the wine. The staff was attentive and provided great recommendations for food and wine. The views were nice, and there was a lot of room between the tables, so we could enjoy ourselves. I drank the Tempranillo - Estate wine, and it was great. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese, which was good, but my mother had the Penne Basil Pesto, and it was amazing! And to finish the meal, we had delicious tiramisu. We definitely plan on returning.

Gorgeous views and the food was absolutely delicious. I don't know how the wine tasting tastes , but the Sangeria is delicious. Next time I will take an Uber!! Great service and beautiful outdoor seating.

1st time visiting the place, I must say it has super views, plus enjoyable relaxing music, and great food! Not a normal restaurant, they seat you issued menu and ur must go to the bar to order drinks and food. This place is busy but, we got lucky but a reservation is suggested to get a view table. Bottles of wine some somewhat pricey compared to other places.

Hamburger restaurant
Burger Bench is a popular spot known for its local focus and industrial-chic setting. Established in 2014, it offers a variety of breakfast options, gourmet burgers, and casual fare made with locally sourced ingredients. The menu includes inventive appetizers like parmesan tater tots and mini corn dogs. The joint also boasts an extensive selection of locally made craft beers to complement the delicious food offerings.
I love coming here, and u can't believe I didn't review it before! Made a stop in for dinner before I left town for a few months, and let me tell you, if you're craving a good quality burger with fries that you can dip in a delicious house-made ranch, this is the place for you! When you walk in, the restaurant is very open and inviting with the menu posted and the wall and over the register, and the beer selection open for everyone to see. And the server is always patient when taking our order. We ordered a Sunrise Burger and the Golden Rooster Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries and ranch. The Sunrise Burger had a fried egg on it that was so good with the bacon inside. Every bite had so much flavor, and it was good quality meat. The patty was smaller than I thought it'd be, but nonetheless it was still so good. The fires were fresh and hot when we got them, and sipping them in the house made the ranch was a great combo. The Golden Rooster Chicken Sandwich had a sliced green apple and a bit of cinnamon in it, which sounds weird, but honestly, paired with the fried chicken pickles, it was so good. Ranch Dip Score 9/10 Overall, I enjoy Burger Bench and think it's a great place for family, friends, or even a date!

After a fun day at the San Diego Safari Park, we stopped by Burger Bench, and we absolutely loved it. We ordered the Classic Burger, which was surprisingly juicy and flavorful even though we asked for it well done. The Mushroom Swiss Burger was just as impressive, with a rich, complex flavor that really stood out. The tater tots were a highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with your choice of sauce. I can’t remember which sauce we picked, but whatever it was, it was delicious! We’d definitely go back if we’re ever in the area again.

Looks like a fun place...this rating is just for the shake. I jstopped in for a milkshake which Google told me was the best in Escondido... It lied. The best thing really, was the straw!! Awesome straw with big mouth opening! Unfortunately, I couldn't suck anything thru the straw since the oreos weren't blended up enough... Seemed to be more cookie than shake. Meh. Secondly, it took like 10 minutes to get my shake (to go) - I just stood around watching 2-3 workers behind the counter talk and interact with each other and customers... The shake came from the back kitchen which was clearly busy... Hmmm, hello? Management? I'm being nit picky, but I didn't have the greatest experience for a 10 dollar shake!

We were returning home from an all day event and both wanted a casual meaty hamburger. Friends recommended this place, and they were right. Good beef, good beer, casual atmosphere. In addition, the natural fries and onion rings were exactly what we like. An altogether excellent experience.

BEST BREAKFAST in Escondido!!! The Bench Breakfast is where it’s at…2 turntables and a microphone! Top notch ingredients - bacon, homemade gravy and jam. My kids absolutely love coming. Great way to start a weekend!
Ryan M — Google review
Nice spot for a good burger in Escondido. Easy counter service, but they still check in on you tableside. Good selection of beer and something to ear for everyone. Sunrise burger and chorizo burger were good. Parmesean truffle fries were delicious. One beer, one N/A beer and two burgers, and a side of fries came out to about $73 after tip, a bit on the pricier side for counter service but good quality.
Brandi B — Google review
Gotta little of everything you'd want when it comes to a burger spot. Have the selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches, melts, appetizers, shakes n drinks. Saw beer on tap as well as soda on fountain 😃 Atmosphere is cool. Stand in line, order from the board, and find yourself a table inside or out. My son is picky, and even though most their burgers are specialty gourmet like, he only wanted meat, cheese n bacon, and that's exactly what they brought out. The buns are a little oily, and my son said the fries taste plain like plastic?? What does he know, haha? I loved it all. Try the bench burger....bomb!

O'Sullivan's Irish Pub Escondido is a charming establishment that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with traditional decor and wooden accents. The pub features live music, an outdoor patio, and a wide selection of beers along with delicious bar food. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a pint of Guinness while immersing yourself in the neighborhood gossip. Additionally, nearby attractions such as Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens and Offbeat Brewing Co.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in a few months and I wanted to try a Boxty before our trip to get an idea what it was. I also wanted to be able to have something to compare it with. It did NOT disappoint!! We showed up on a trivia night and was still able to manage to get a table. The atmosphere due to the staff was fun and lively. I only wish I was a local, I would definitely be a regular there!

A good small Irish pub. Arrived on a Saturday morning at 11am. I had the all day Irish breakfast which was good. A little pricey at $25 but everywhere has gone up. My girlfriend had the curried fries and the curry sauce was great. The Bartender didn't know what a Guinness and black was and they had no liquid lime juice for a in style lager and lime. Overall it is what you would expect from an Irish bar. Probably busy when they have a band on.
Shandy H — Google review
This place has gone down hill bad. We used to go here each year for our wedding anniversary. But this year was a disappointment. We spent $84 for food that tasted really bad. I ordered the beef stew that says on the menu has chunks of beef. But no chunks just a plate of what looks like not so appetizing pile of smoosh food. I was even looking for potatoes and carrots but unfortunately there was at least 3 to 4 pieces and mind you this plate is $22. My husband ordered the boiled eggs wrapped in sausage but as you can see in the picture it just seems like one piece of boiled eggs cut in 6 slices and deep fried with a tasteless batter. It was a Thursday and initially we asked for the September 4th a Thursday special which states on the website is only $9 for wings, quesadillas. We asked the rude bartender and she said it was only for happy hours then why would it says on your website that it’s a special for a specific day and date? Bottom line she didn’t follow What it shows on the website. She was really rude and my husbands beer glass was empty for 15 minutes 2X. She seems like very unhappy with what she was doing. She barely smiles and didn’t even try to explain anything we asked. I asked her to recommend a sweeter taste Ale and her recommendations are just wrong. She was so short that she can barely see passed the bar table. Her hair was just clamp up all crazy. It’s very unpleasant looking as a bartender. Her voice was so annoying that I told my husband let’s just celebrate our anniversary at home. That food, place and bartender just ruined our day.

The service was fantastic for our large wedding party. They were able to accommodate us and our Bulk order of Jaegerbombs with very little to no wait time. They had live music in the interior and the outdoor area had plenty of space.

Stopped into a small Irish pub with coworkers who recommended it, and it didn’t disappoint. They had a solid selection of Irish draft beers and drinks, and the food was authentic and well done. I was especially glad to see boxtys on the menu—they were tasty and not something you find everywhere. A great spot for a relaxed meal and a pint.
Griffin P — Google review
Great place to go with my gf. We had some drinks and shared some food. Some musicians came and played live music, that atmosphere was great and the food was awesome. Can't wait to come back!
Nick W — Google review
A great authentic menu and excellent alcohol options in a nice Irish pub ambiance, including live music even on weekdays. I had the Reuben sandwich and it was very delicious. But there wasn't much meat on it and the fries, which dwarf the sandwich, look golden and crispy but were mostly too soft. I'd ask for them to be lightly well done if I get anything with fries there again. Overall, the value is just not there. For $21.00 they could easily add a little more meat to the sandwich--like in the attached photo of a DZ Akins Reuben sandwich at about the same price. The O'Sullivan's meat is the pulled rather than sliced type, but the sliced I had is just as tasty and a bit more tender and juicy. A pint of Guiness, included in the bill with a customary 18% tip (just for pouring a pint), costs $12.40. So for a sandwich and two beers it was $50.00 not well spent.

I do love this bar. Food is pretty good. Seafood Boxty is rich but a treat for sure. Live bands are a plus. Trivia night on Wednesday to mix things up. I will say the tab adds up pretty darn fast here. 4 of us went for a few drinks. It's was over $200 😳. I miss going to the bars and not leaving broke. Those were the good old days!!

WOW!!! Phenomenal dinner!!! We started with drinks, fresh bread (with some divine butter) & french onion soup!! Our main courses were superb- the chimichurri sauce is so fresh, it’s a must have. I even overheard other guests talking about how glad they were to be back- it’s such a lovely restaurant and the staff is so welcoming.

Went here for a bday dinner and it was absolutely delicious. We've tried many other places looking for the perfect beef wellington including a few kitchen's in Las Vegas and let me tell ya, this one here takes 1st place. We also ordered lobster risotto, stuffed baked potato and a apricot cherry cornmeal cake. The lobster risotto was cooked to perfection, maybe a little too perfect because I finished it and I probably shouldn't have, haha! Creamy, buttery, soft, chewy and the lobster, perfectly seasoned. I don't usually eat beef but the wellington was a must try and believe me, it was exquisite! Melt in your mouth tender juicy beef with just the perfect amount of sauce. The pastry has such a homemade flavor that you want to just wait a moment, and enjoy it slowly. Same with the brisket on on the potato! I mean seriously, it was just melting. We also had onion soup and it was really flavorful. I'd never had it before so I can't say I've had better or worse nonetheless, this one was quite tasty. Oh yes, my new obsession thanks to this dinner, pepperdew pepper's! If they have them, TRY THEM. Sweet, savory with a hint of just a little kick of spice covered in balsamic and accompanied by a few things I can't remember but anyway, my new obsession, lol. Prices are less than what I expected from a place with such great and friendly service and excellent food. There is an extensive menu of alcoholic beverages for those who enjoy a good glass. ***Almost forgot, you can call ahead and ask about their menu since it changes weekly. I called ahead and requested the beef wellington and it was made available but they don't always have them available.***

I'm sorry but our experience wasn't good. When you're looking for fine dining it's usually for a special occasion and you want your night to be exceptional. I'm going to try and save you money and time. Here were our issues and pictures to match. 1. Our water glass was dirty with dish towel fuzz all over the rim. 2. We got the French Onion soup and mine came with a nice leek on top for garnish. My wife's didn't. 3. French onion soup also had burned hard flakes from the bottom of a pan floating in it. The chefs explanation was it's sediment from the bone broth. I'm sorry but I didn't read bone broth sediment on the menu! Lol 4. Dessert had a chocolate sufflé but they didn't disclose that it was an almond flower sufflé... It also tasted like it had coconut in it which was also not on the menu. 5. The decor is kind of off putting. It's like they're trying way to hard to show it's a French restaurant. Fine dining in my opinion is elegant, clean, and delicious. 6. The plating was cool but color was weird on the main course. Looked kind of like a poop streak on the plate. Maybe I watch too much Master Chef... Okay let's talk about the good because I definitely gave 2 starts for a reason. 1. The main course was pretty damn good. Kobe beef ravioli, short rib, and steak. 2. The dessert I got was really good. Lots of whipped deliciousness and fruit. Creamy lemony dolops and cheese cake-esque puddings... 3. Service was stellar. For $75 dollars a plate there's 6 other places I would go spend my money. You're paying for memories at places like this. An experience. Unfortunately ours wasn't great barly even good. Bellamy's down the street crushes this place for similar prices.

Had dinner during Covid-19 restrictions. They did a great job on all accounts. Two fixed menus to choose from. I had the squash flower, rack of lamb, and cheesecake. She had the corn fritters, duck, and cake. All were fantastic. The mixed drinks were also excellent. I highly recommend.

Found this place during restaurant week, but will definitely return for their regular menu as our dishes were delicious. All ingredients are fresh and seasonal from the local farmer's market. Filet and lamb were cooked perfectly. French onion soup and tartar were great appetizers, and the dessert options were delicious (especially the apple trio for the Fall). The staff was nice and attentive, checking on us and refilling water, and gave great recommendations on food and wine pairings, including a port with dessert. Overall amazing experience for a special night out and a treat to find this place!

Everything was great! We started dinner kind of early and spent about 2.5 hours enjoying our meal/drinks with good company. Will be back again to try other items on the menu.

Shopping
Located in Escondido, the Westfield North County Mall has been a shopping hub since 1986. With over 170 retail shops and restaurants, it underwent renovations in 2017 to modernize and expand its offerings. The mall boasts popular stores like Macy's, Nordstrom, Apple Store, and more. Additionally, visitors can enjoy dining options and entertainment such as a movie theater. Escondido also offers attractions like craft breweries for those looking for additional leisure activities.
Very clean, safe bright mall to take the family to. Lots of stores, great shopping, lots of things to do for kids under 10. Kids ate at the food court with lots of options for them like hotdogs, corn dogs, chicken fingers, wings, fries, pizza, Chinese, and sushi. Multistory levels but everything has escalators and everything worked perfect.

Dingers batting cage was awesome. The young gentleman help my kid get setup quick. I like how they have a simulator pitcher and then a ball come out, then you can see where the ball goes. It keeps live stats, so you know where to focus on your next at bat.

Impressive variety of shops and a clean, modern atmosphere—an excellent upgrade from the former Westfield. Excited to see Round One and the Sportsflex opening soon. A great addition to North County, complete with Popmart vending machines!
Kate G — Google review
This mall has been dying. The atmosphere followed is pungent with judgment you can't walk into a store without eyes on you as if you're stealing, the security is late to many fights, and the selection of stores and staff knowledge in them will shock you. Most staffers dont know there own products and most security is so new they dont know where stores are.
Dominic M — Google review
Elevator has been broken for about a month and breaks often. I think I’ve seen it out of service more than operable in the most recent years. It’s the middle of July and it’s unbelievably hot in the mall. A handful of stores have great AC but majority of the mall is so hot. The food court has some great options and I enjoy most stores North County has to offer, but for the lack of main elevator and needing to go to complete opposite sides to take an operable elevator for my stroller, the lack of AC in the middle of summer, it makes it hard to want to come back to this mall.
Bailey L — Google review
The elevator is STILL out of order. We were there 2 weeks ago and it was out then. This makes it very inconvenient if you use a wheel chair or scooter. The Target elevator will only give you access to the first and second floor. To get to the third floor you must then go to Macy's at the other end of the mall and use their elevator which is conveniently hidden way in the back of the store.

My experience at The Vineyard at Escondido was fantastic! I had always wanted to try golfing but really had no idea what to expect. The staff was so welcoming and explained things thoroughly which lowered my anxiousness. Customer service was certainly on par. The general manager Jose was genuinely excited for me making contact with the golf balls on the green especially for a newbie which made me feel like I belong. The grounds are beautiful! We saw turtles in the ponds, the greens were plush, and the views of vineyards and the mountains are breathtaking. The 18 holes are well thought out and challenging. I can’t imagine the hours that go into keeping those grounds so well kept. I didn’t get to spend too much time at the driving range but I’ll be sure to spend more time there at my next visit. Oh and the clubhouse had some great food on the menu, and a full bar to enjoy a cocktail or refreshment. Newbies and experienced players alike would have a great experience at The Vineyard like I did. I could tell a lot of people there were experienced players and everyone was so kind. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Played third week of July, 10am tee time on a Thursday. Course was busy. Overall decent course for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful. They had double booked my tee time with another group but starter got it figured out quickly. Unfortunately the golfers that play here might be less experienced or just don’t care. Every green had multiple divots to fix. On a hole following a tee shot watched another golfer pickup my ball. When approached about it he denied taking it. Course could be in better shape but for the price not sure more could be expected.

Played course on November 2nd, 2024. Course amenities are good. Nice full size driving range with trackman technology. Also a chipping/putting area. Range is mats only though. As for the course it's ok. Some tee boxes are pretty rock hard and make it hard to even get a tee inside. Also multiple tee boxes were closed making par 3's less than 100 yards. Fairways are pretty patchy for it to just now starting to get cold. Bunkers barely have any sand inside of them which was basically hitting on rocks. Greens are the best part of the course. They are well kept and roll pretty nice although they are soft. The course layout is also nice and makes you think about your club selection on the tee box. Hopefully when I come back next year it's a bit better but not bad for the first visit.

A Perfect Venue for a Bridal Shower! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently hosted a bridal shower at the Vineyard at Escondido Golf Course, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! We rented their club facility, and it was absolutely stunning. The recent renovations have truly elevated the space—it’s elegant, modern, and beautifully designed, creating the perfect ambiance for our celebration. From the beginning, the staff was incredibly professional and attentive. A special shoutout to Samantha, who coordinated our event flawlessly. She was responsive, organized, and went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. Thanks to her, everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The food was delicious, and the kitchen staff thoughtfully accommodated our vegan guests without missing a beat. It’s rare to find a venue that balances quality service, beautiful aesthetics, and affordability so well—but the Vineyard at Escondido GC did just that. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue for anyone planning a bridal shower, wedding, party, or special event. The space is gorgeous, the team is amazing, and your guests will leave raving just like mine did. Thank you to the entire team for making our day so special!

From the moment I arrived, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service and attention to detail at this golf course. The staff were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about every guest's experience. Whether it was the pro shop, starter, or clubhouse team, everyone went above and beyond to make the day enjoyable. The course itself is in fantastic shape. Every hole is thoughtfully designed and very playable, offering the perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment for players of all skill levels. Fairways were pristine, greens rolled true, and the layout made for a great pace of play. What really stood out was the driving range and practice area — clean, well-maintained, and actively used without ever feeling overcrowded. The short-game practice holes were a bonus, allowing for a solid warm-up before teeing off and some fun post-round practice. Overall, this course delivers a complete golf experience: top-tier customer service, beautifully maintained facilities, and a team that truly understands and loves the game. I’ll definitely be returning — highly recommended! Any review not grading the course of 5 stars is a huge understatement and should not be taken serious

Excellent course! This was our final round of a golf weekend. Had a nice upscale feel without paying $200+ for a tee time. Great service at the turn (both after hole 4 and 9), and great fairways with some challenging par 3s. Would definitely play again!

Kit Carson Park in Escondido is a versatile destination offering something for everyone. The park features numerous hiking trails, three ponds, and various sports fields. It also houses a 5-acre arboretum known as the Iris Sankey Magical Garden. Named after the famous scout Kit Carson, the park was once an Indian settlement and is close to historical sites like the Battle of San Pasqual battlefield.
Excellent park to take your dog for a run or walk.. Huge area for any type of celebration, either birthday or even wedding! ( I've seen it). There are so many trails to explore! It has a Frisbee golf course and a tennis court. Shaded bench to relax and enjoy nature or watch and feed the ducks by the pond. Can't decide where to start, don't worry. Signs everywhere. Lots of parking. This park is always busy!!
Elvira E — Google review
Kit Carson Park is a jewel, there are different activities as hiking, disc golf, feeding the ducks (ducks food not bread), tennis courts, hockey, and appreciating nature as the birds, squirrels, ducks and turtles. Playgrounds for the kids, pic-nic areas with tables, great for families and friends! My only complaint is the park is not taking care with caring, the old and dry bushes still there, maybe money issues to take care the plants, trees, the greenery? We really enjoy this park, just great!! 🙏

The disc golf course is what I love the most, but there are many things to love here. Walking trails, baseball fields, a small outdoor theater, picnic areas, roller blade hockey, Queen Calafia-a modern art exhibit, a duck pond, Bar-B-Que areas, playground area, and open areas. It's a lot of fun.
Mike R — Google review
Nice, very large park with baseball, softball, tennis, disc golf, playgrounds, picnic facilities, and pond. Really offers a lot to do. The walk around park via the loop trail is pretty and can be done in under an hour. My pics were looking at critters & plants. The fields and park was in great shape on my visit.
Kathy H — Google review
This review is for the disc golf course. They really made the most of the property. This course is not super long or super challenging, but it does require a bunch of different shapes off the tee. It feels like each hole presents a different challenge. Even the short "filler" hole presents a somewhat tight shape and a dangerous green. Compared to other park courses I've played across the country, this one does a much better job of minimizing interaction between walkers and disc golfers. Most of the park goers also seemed aware of the course. Overall, it's a fantastic course that is fun for beginners, challenging for intermediate players, and still demanding of advanced players.

Felicita Park, located in Escondido, is a sprawling 2,000-acre area that offers a variety of outdoor activities and historical significance. It is one of the oldest Native American settlements in San Diego County, with evidence of Northern Diegueno Indian village still visible. The park features sports fields, playgrounds, walking paths, a disc golf course, and lush oak groves.
The parking is usually sufficient, but if there's an event happening then I would plan on finding a nearby public street. There is a nice mix of playgrounds, restrooms, grills, hiking areas, and events scheduled here.

Went there for Escondido Renaissance Faire. This is a lovely event, and the park is beautiful. We live in Arizona, and this park kind of makes me want to move nearby. It's beautiful, rocks and trees, lots of hiking areas. Park rangers and Faire staff and participants were friendly.

Went to this park because my girlfriend and I attended the Escondido renaissance faire in Oct '25. What a surprisingly fun faire considering the lack of promotion online. Compared to bigger faires such as the renaissance pleasure faire in my neck of the woods, this faire definitely holds water. The park its situated in is very well maintained with plenty of space and shade for the festivities. I wouldn't be half surprised if this becomes a yearly adventure for fun at the faire.

Felicita Park is great! Lots of parking and picnic tables. winding trails that span the entire property, and a flowing Creek that runs the length of it as well. You can go pretty far back with smaller more precarious trails or just the casual easy ones. There seems to be something cool around every nook and cranny and there's lots of great spots for getting down closer to the creek. If you have kids I love playgrounds, hiking around and playing by the water this is the park for you!

The Cheesecake Factory is an American chain restaurant known for its extensive menu and signature cheesecakes. Customers rave about the lettuce-wrapped burger, which features a classic patty with avocado wrapped in soft lettuce, along with grilled onion, tomato, and pickles. The restaurant's customer service is highly praised, with knowledgeable staff offering recommendations. Despite some items being unavailable during visits, customers still enjoyed delicious meals such as Steak Diane and Louisiana Chicken Pasta.
Very nice place 👌 👏 👍. I love how clean it is . Our server was amazing . The only t thing I didn't like is the steak on the lettuce wrap was overcooked lol 6/10 stars. Steak Diane was amazing 9/10 stars. Alfredo fettuccine was good 8.5/10 stars. Flat bread pizza pepperoni 9/10 stars. Quesadilla was good too 10/10 stars. Drinks was good too peach tea 🍵 10/10 stars. Strawberry lemonade 8/10 stars. Margaritas 8.5/10 stars. Cheese cake tiramisu and ice cream 8/10 stars. Overall it's great place to have dinner with the family.

We happened to be in the North county mall during the weekend and wanted to have dinner at The cheese cake factory but it was packed and the wait time was close to 50 minutes hence we decided to leave and went back another day after reserving a table. We loved their stuffed mushrooms but then were disappointed that they couldn’t serve us the spinach and cheese dip. As vegetarians, we have very less options to choose from and it is frustrating when they run out of these limited menu items! Their vegetarian melt was fresh and delicious but then the spicy Rigatoni was very mediocre for the price. The tiramisu cheese cake was the best out of what we had! Recommend this place but make sure to reserve ahead of time and call out for private space with respect to seating as the place is so packed, no matter the day and time!

Went there for a family dinner and order the Americana burger for my son cooked medium. It can out and I thought it looked under cooked. My son started eating it and said it was fine. I thought maybe it was just the lighting. We brought the other half home and it was definitely under cooked. I wish I’d said something to the waiter Jade who was extremely nice and helpful. Just writing this review in hopes they don’t continue to serve under cooked burgers. Otherwise experience was good.

Nice atmosphere and nice they open til 11 pm - later than other restaurants. However, a bit steep on pricing. Like their avocado appetizers and the Thai salad. Customer service varies depending on the server.

The food and the atmosphere were so good, but the service needs to be improve. There was only one server was was in charge of the patio tables which made the service to be slower.

This was our first time visiting a Cheesecake Factory and my first time visiting California. The interior decor was impressive, at least in my opinion and the staff members were very hospitable. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Kelly, who gave us very friendly service. I was surprised to notice in the menu, Cheesecake Factory also serves full meals which I didn’t know about, I thought they only served cheesecakes hence the name. But I’m happy to know there are many alternative delicious food items to order. However, our group ended up only ordering some cheesecakes to eat. I got the Oreo extreme cheesecake which I think was around 1,550 calories… but it was pretty decadent, rich, and tasty. I definitely couldn’t finish the whole thing in one sitting but I took the rest to go. I also ordered a Cafe Mocha as my drink of choice which was also pretty good. In the future, I will return to a Cheesecake Factory next time I am near one. To anyone living in this area, I highly recommend this business to anyone who has a sweet tooth and wants to treat themselves to delicious desserts. But as a warning to others, these cheesecakes are high in calories and definitely 2 people can and should only share 1 piece of cheesecake instead of ordering their own slice separately. Other than that, our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Cheesecake Factory!
Seth — Google review
Ridiculous wait times. I can see all the empty tables both inside and outside and still they say it’s 40min wait time. At least today, the front guest people were pedantic. Other days it has been fine and at least the food has been consistently tasty. The bar is open seating but some should ask people to not leave empty chairs since there is not way to seat 2 together. There are empty single chairs so if you go by yourself you get the advantage. Definitely customer service can be improved at this location.

I came here to celebrate a birthday, and the overall experience was very nice. The service was wonderful, but the food did take a bit to come out, as did the cheesecake. The food here has always been hit or miss, and this time around I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I enjoyed it. I also love their selection of drinks, and ordered the J.W. pink lemonade which I thoroughly enjoyed! The atmosphere here is wonderful and is a great place to bring family for a little get together. The cheesecake is very good, and my favorite is the celebration cheesecake flavor. They were very accommodating of our large party, as well as the one baby we had with us. Our server was lovely and made sure we were taken care of. Overall, it was a fun place to celebrate a birthday!

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is a popular casual dining chain known for its Tex-Mex offerings like fajitas, burritos, and grilled meats. Visitors often praise the friendly and attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu, particularly their signature chili. While some locations may face challenges with seating during busy times, the service remains friendly and efficient. The restaurant offers a variety of options including healthy choices alongside classic Mexican dishes.
I recently dined at On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina in Escondido, and it was a delightful experience! This restaurant is a great spot to enjoy authentic Mexican food. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was fantastic, though it did take a little time to be served. However, that was perfectly fine, as we were happy to wait for such delicious offerings. One highlight was the guacamole, which is made fresh right next to your table—what a fun and interactive touch! I highly recommend On the Border for anyone craving Mexican cuisine. Hard to find an on the border around san Diego now. But on the way back home from the San Diego Safari Park we saw this. No way it's still open!? So we drove up and to our surprise it was. We decided to go in and have a bite. Took them a while to seat us and it was busy. More people to serve then they had servers. But they did a good job with the workers they had, they were very friendly. The food was good, definitely not the best Mexican food you can have. But brought some good memories from years ago. We ordered a couple beers and the queso and guac for an appetizer. The queso was just regular nacho cheese but good. I got a combination plate that had 4 items and rice and beans and girlfriend chose the pick 3 items. Combination plate included: mini chimichanga, hard taco, green chicken enchilada, and a red cheese enchilada. Pick 3 included: rice and beans, green pork enchilada, chile relleno, and hard taco. Out of those items our favorites were, the beans, chile relleno, cheese enchilada, pork enchilada, and the hard taco. I would definitely go back if where in the area and want a quick Mexican meal and have a bit a time on our hands.

Not authentic Mexican food, but a good alternative. It falls more inline with commercial grade America Mexican food that we all know. The food had a slightly bland flavor that was easily remedied by a little salsa they bring to the table when you first sit down. The service was quick and the decor was basic, but fun. The chips they brought to table were a bit bland and stale. I sure do miss the large hand cut and fried ones they used to serve. Over all... Not bad, but a lot of other options for really good authentic Mexican food just right up the street.

Modern American restaurant chain offering comfort food with a nice bar area and large dining facilities. Fryckle fries were hot, crisp, and addicting pickle appetizers with ranch and aioli sauces. The clam chowder had nice chunks of clam and potato served in a hearty medium sized bowl. Southern fried chicken was crispy and moist with some pepper to add spice. Creamy gravy and mashed potatoes with sautéed corn. The gourmet five meat deep dish pizza had a pillowy, warm crust. The meat toppings were tasty. The red sauce lightly covered the pie. Power bowl with blackened salmon, included raw cubed cucumbers, sliced red onions, corn and black bean mix, on a bed of guacamole and quinoa / rice / cauliflower mix. It is a medium to heavy dish and not as refreshing as I initially imagined. Sliced, grilled chicken over fettuccine alfredo. Creamy sauce with broccoli and soft noodles. Mini-pizookie was a nice end to the meal. The chocolate cookie was nice and warm. Thanks to Riley, our server, during a busy evening.

We had a wonderful experience at BJ’s today! The restaurant was clean and inviting from the moment we walked in. The hosts were very on top of getting us sat us in a timely matter. But the star is Rylan! She ensured our service was perfect and very well paced. We had a small smagu with our pizza but that was caught by her impeccable eye to detail and was fixed very fast. We will make sure that when we return we will ask for her. Simply amazing.

We love coming here. The food is always good. But the atmosphere and staff are the main reason we will coming back. Delanie is amazing! She is so sweet, attentive and funny. She made our dining experience so much better with her excellent service!

Absolutely phenomenal service and environment! Richard and Andi took care of my friends and I in an extremely kind and caring manner. We were able to relax, enjoy some drinks and good food, and watch the game. Andi’s service was great and made good conversation! Richard made great drinks and in a timely manner, as well as checked in regularly. Such a great environment to hangout after work with friends with great service!

Service was amazing, Rylan was very attentive and super super nice. The food was delicious. Only downside was how many people were genuinely screaming about the Dodgers but that is not the servers fault. Rylan was a delight.

My husband and I visited your Escondido location for lunch on Sunday September 14, 2025 And I am giving you my feedback which should have been a great visit was nothing but a huge disappointment When you go to a restaurant, the very least you expect is to be acknowledged and offered a drink order. That never happened here. We sat, waited, and were completely ignored. Finally, we decided to leave. I asked to speak to your manager . When I told the manager we would not be eating there, and why I was leaving , the only response was a flat ‘sorry.’ No attempt to correct the situation, no effort to salvage the experience, no accountability whatsoever. A manager’s job is to set the tone and make things right when service falls apart — instead, this one showed indifference. If customers can walk out before even being offered water or a drink, and all management can say is ‘sorry,’ it speaks volumes about how little they value their guests. This isn’t hospitality, it’s negligence. I won't be returning to your restaurant. Consumers have expectations, a sorry is no long is the magic word. Instead I am upset and for valid reason You have lost a loyal costumer and you should never take things for granted Word of mouth matters My best

American restaurant
Vintana Wine + Dine is an upscale eatery located on the top floor of the Lexus Centre in Escondido. This fine dining establishment offers a unique twist on California cuisine, showcasing New American dishes paired with captivating vistas of the town and its surroundings. With contemporary decor, expansive windows, comfortable furnishings, and an impressive chandelier, Vintana sets a remarkable backdrop for Chef Deborah Scott's delectable gourmet meals.
A Memorable Birthday Celebration at Vintana Wine + Dine …During our stay at Wyndham Oceanside, we attended a presentation and asked for a recommendation for a great restaurant being seasoned travelers and food lovers. Without hesitation, Vintana Wine + Dine was suggested, as we had already dined several times at 333 Pacific. I originally booked a 7:00 PM dinner reservation for my birthday, but made a last-minute change after checking the menu I was suddenly craving oysters and decided to switch to lunch instead. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. Madeleine at the reception warmly welcomed us and kindly asked us to wait a few minutes. I eagerly scanned the menu but didn’t see oysters listed. We mentioned this to Ron, our host, and told him to surprise us—we trusted him completely to make my birthday special. Ron took the lead, recommending the wine and food selections, and he did not disappoint. He was extremely polite, attentive, and professional. As first-time guests at Vintana, we truly wanted the experience to be unforgettable and Ron delivered 100%. He made us feel like family, not just customers. I highly recommend Vintana Wine + Dine to anyone visiting the area. It’s a must-visit, and I especially look forward to dining with Ron again. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable. We can’t wait to return!

One of my favorite restaurants in the Escondido area. Came here for happy hour on my last trip to San Diego. Everything on the happy hour menu is $10 which is a steal. Some of the dishes I recommend are: green goddess hummus, shishito peppers, and Korean style chicken wings. Portions are made to share. Many options on the drink menu. Staff is great. Always a good time here.

Beautiful space, beautiful food, excellent service - you may not expect fine dining in Escondido, much less an auto dealership, but this is a destination, dining experience. My sister brought me here for my last day of my visit, and she kept raving about the popovers. She was right, they were an excellent bread course - crispy exterior with an airy, buttery interior. She also insisted we get the pepita and sesame crusted Brie - I liked it better with the popover rather than the garlic crostini. We both selected fish courses: she got the Macadamia & Coconut Crusted Sea Bass, and I chose the Everything Crusted Ahi Tuna. There was so much going on the plates, but all the elements balanced each other out perfectly. Portions were huge, so we only ate half in order to be able to try the Ube Cheesecake. The cheesecake was also huge and unlike any other Ube Cheesecake I’ve tried! Those little mounds of ube halaya on top are genius, I’ll be doing the same when I make them at home. We chose to sit inside, and I requested a table next to the window, which overlooks a beautiful fountain below. In the warmer months, I’d choose to sit outdoors, that space looked so cozy and inviting. Our server was awesome, he let us know that if we signed up for their loyalty program, we would get 10% off our first bill. The restaurant is part of a larger restaurant group with locations around the country, including Hawaii.

The name of this restaurant includes the words “fine dining”, and that is exactly what mom and I experienced. Our booth was at one end of the restaurant with one heck of a view through the wall of windows facing the I-15 and the hills in the distance. When we ordered the Fish & Chips as well as the Avocado BLT (minus the avocado), we did not realize just how much food was coming to our table! The Fish & Chips had four very large pieces instead of the standard two you get anywhere else. There was more fish than batter, which happens nowhere else. We have ordered this particular menu item from numerous other restaurants over the years, including Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco— and nobody has ever made it this darn good! Nobody!! The fish was so thick, you feel like a VIP when you sink your teeth into absolute perfection. The BLT didn’t get eaten in the restaurant. We had to have them give us boxes to take that home due to the fish being so filling. If you look at the photos I’m including, you’ll see two pieces of fish on the plate because mom and I split it. We got full quickly after some fries and one piece of fish each. We put the leftovers in the air fryer to keep the batter crispy, whereas a microwave would soften it and reduce the texture to less than delicious. That BLT is for the next day. You really get a lot of food on your plate! They are not chimsy with the portions. I honestly believe this meal is the go to lunch and I will definitely bring mom back here for lunch. The first impression really matters, and I can say that the customer service was a definite 10 on that 1-10 scale. Everyone was so friendly, and I asked to speak to the general manager so I could tell him how satisfied we were. Robert came to our table and he was truly a wonderful person. He welcomed us to ask for him again when we return. And yes Chef Deb, we will return! Thank you.

We loveeeee Vintana happy hour!! Everything on the happy hour menu (3-5pm) is $10 and it’s SO GOOD. Literally best ceviche I’ve ever had and the chef Deborah’s Brie platter is a must. For drinks we always get the black rose, the coconut margarita, and the fresh perspective. You can literally feast for $40 per person. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful celebratory dinner. We all got something different, so we got to "try" some of the other choices. I had the pan seared salmon with a veggie/bean cake. Both were outstanding. Staff was on-the-ball, too. Dunno what the yellow sauce was, but with the salmon, it was synergistic.

Modern American fusion restaurant in Escondido, CA. Tightly run team/floor with consistent, professional service. Clean and stylish facilities. The black mussels stood out with their flavorful coconut curry sauce (slightly spicy and salty) and grilled toasted points. The mussels were plump and fresh. The Korean chicken wings were hot with crispy skin and tender meat. They were coated with a sweet/spicy glazed sauce, green onions, and sesame seeds. The chicken gyoza were nicely steamed with soft wrappers. The gyoza were placed on a bed of al dente, thin egg noodles mixed with a black sesame / herb crust, and piled high with fresh shredded vegetables. The shishito peppers were slightly spicy/bitter and offset with a sweet glaze. The peppers came along with a healthy portion of crisp pork belly chunks. The shrimp and rockfish ceviche was refreshing with its quality seafood and citrus notes. The bright onions, tomatoes, and avocados added texture and flavors to round out the dish. The half pound bacon burger patty was impressive with hearty slices of bacon. The herb crusted fries were well cooked and flavorful. The bun was slightly drier than preferred. Happy hours are held Tuesday thru Sunday in the afternoon. The $10 dishes provide excellent value. Their outside bar greatly expanded its selection with the introduction of many sipping rums. Special thanks to Izzy (outdoor bartender/server) for the excellent service and wine recommendations! Appreciate her for looking out for the kids too 😊

Fine dining with beautiful views and delicious menu items. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about what they have available. I was able to get a walk-in table on Thursday evening with no reservation and I asked the hostess for a table with a nice view to have dinner with family at. They did not disappoint! The drinks were delicious and the entrees were full of flavor with large portions served. We had the bone in pork chops, sea bass, and short ribs, all amazing. The end of the meal was finished off with warm cups of tea thst did not disappoint. Our waiter came through with great suggestions for drinks and entrees and helped us navigate the menu selections.
