Recommended! Petri took great care of us, provided warm clothing and took us far into the forest on a sled. There we met dozens and dozens of his reindeer. Petri explained absolutely everything there is to know about about reindeer herding and about the Sami people culture. He even made coffee for us and a big fire. What I liked the most is that Petri and his family are one of the old families who live and herd reindeer in an authentic and original way.
Really amazing experience learning what they do as reindeer herders and the Sami culture and language. Petri drove us to where he herds reindeers in his snowmobile and bam! There were hundreds of reindeers everywhere. Truly an eye opening experience learning about their daily lives and culture from his wife and was honoured to be invited into their lovely home. Loved seeing the animals in their natural environment and not being confined by a small barn. Also learnt so much about their language. Highly recommend!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Lapland. Riding in the sled with the odd reindeer roaming about, and then before you know it a mass of Reindeer appear and it’s such a wonderful sight! To just walk around and enjoy their company, sitting by the fire with a nice coffee and chats learning about the Sami culture. It even started to snow whilst we were out. Magical -Thank you !

Great experience! We did the "Taste of the Reindeer Herder's Day" in December 2021 and truly enjoyed it. Petri and his family were very nice and welcoming; he took us to the fields on a sledge hauled by his snowmobile and we could enjoy coffee around a fire out in the open while surrounded by reindeers. We even managed to hand-feed and pet some of them! He then had us in his home to tell us about Sami culture, heritage and history.
I definitely recommend Petri's farm if you want to genuinely experience and learn about the Sami culture.
We loved the experience on the reindeer farm and the little excursion on Sami history. We had a great trip to the reindeers in the forest, drank some tea, ate a selfmade muffin and enjoyed it so much. Thanks again Petri (and family) for that interesting day. Highly recommended!
