Hotel
Nestled by a tranquil riverside, Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort East Village is a picturesque retreat offering a variety of accommodations such as igloos, cabins, and chalets. The resort is renowned for its glass igloos that provide an unparalleled view of the mesmerizing Northern Lights. In addition to this unique feature, guests can also opt for traditional wood chalets and smoke saunas, some of which are among the largest in the world.
Property is great. I stayed in the East Village and frequently took the free shuttle at the front desk to the west village. The staff was very courteous and professional. Walking around the snow covered property was like a Disney movie. The food was not bad. Sometimes I did not like their meat options from their regular menu so I ate from the Indian menu and that was always good, many vegetarian options. The only disappointment was that there is not much entertainment at night after 8PM. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property. Here are some suggestions before you go: Bring a flash light that fits in your pocket. Bring head scarf, winter hat and ski pants. Private Taxi transfer from airport to hotel was $95 euros in January 2025. Rent a regular room and only stay at Igloo for the last night. East village is beautiful and less populated.

We had a 2 person igloo and it was great! We were lucky to see the northern lights 3/3 nights. The igloo was warm, the sauna clean & the shower room big. The beds were comfortable and I liked the remote ability to move them up or down to enable you to view the lights at night. The signal was good in case you feel asleep to know that you would be woken up. i would recommend.

Beautiful resort. I will definitely recommend their igloo stays. The staff is great. And, the resort has a really big and nice art gallery and planetarium!
Pramita S — Google review
Staffs are friendly, helpful and always ready to answer to queries. Nice and quiet environment, close to nature. I am sure the stay during the winter season will be magnificent, magical and festive! Do take note that their East Village is closed at the moment. So please google their west village address instead in your navigation app.

We had stayed here for 2 nighta. The staff was very humble, helpful and trying their best. But they were not trained properly. They did not have correct information about how to use facilities in rooms. We got different info from different staff about how to use sauna. The planetorium activity we had booked online where it was not mentioned that the planetorium and observatoey tower will be closed on sunday. They somehow managed to make that available for us with another group but we could not go to the tower. There are no signs in the property about the various visiting places. In view of our obervation we say that as per the value of services and other food items prizes are too high . From india Mumbai
Divyesh S — Google review
The iglo is very nice. They don't clean the room, no fresh towels for 3 nights. The food and the restaurant service is 2 stars, not 5. You can only get away with this, because people only come once. The service at the reception is good. Our debit cards didn't work, so make sure you bring a credit card. The husky trip is really nice!
Suus R — Google review
Everything about my stay here was wonderful. The glass igloo was amazing, the staff were all fantastic and the sites were something that I will treasure forever.
Kacee B — Google review
We enjoyed our stay. Even though there was no snow we enjoyed our time. We went for viewing Northern Lights and even though it was a somewhat quiet solar activity time, we had 3 clear nights and got to see northern lights with some dancing. We enjoyed the Santa visit and the reindeer lichen feeding. We also went on a dog cart ride, although short (and like a roller-coaster :-) ) it was a nice experience. The cabins kept temperature consistent. The in-cabin sauna was so nice... The igloo allowed us to view the Aurora inside if we wanted. The planetarium is worth a visit. The food (half-board) was good and the dinners especially so. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.

Nestled in the lively city of Rovaniemi, Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos is an exciting accommodation option that offers a range of unique experiences. Guests can choose between staying in snow rooms or glass igloos, both providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Nordic landscape. The hotel provides a variety of Arctic activities such as snowshoeing, snow sculpting, and relaxing in the snow sauna.
The staff were very friendly. Check-in was quick and easy. We loved the breakfast in the restaurant with a wide variety of options. The Ice Bar was very creative. The short walk to the lake offered a beautiful fog over the lake and swans nearby. It was a neat experience to sleep in the igloo. We didn't see the Northern Lights because it was cloudy, but it was cool to lay in the bed and look up at the clouds passing over.

seamless service, wonderful stay - breakfast is so delicious!! they have buffet, so we could try various Finnish dishes. there was a lot of options and the quality of good was great. - perfect igloo with all things you need The igloo had 360 degree glass roof so we could see aurora and stars while lying down on a bed. I really liked the motorized bed!!! Even during daytime, we could enjoy our time while sitting on the bed like a couch. And the room was spacious enough to open two big luggages. There was a fridge, a toilet, a shower room, as well as a small desk and a chair. So you don't need to give up anything for choosing an igloo type accommodation. -friendly staffs: they had good service mind and always greeted us with genuine smile. -many extras: we could use airport transfer and we had a lot of options for activities. Also, there was an aurora alarm that rings during nigh time, so it was so convenient. I want to recommend this lovely hotel for anyone visiting Rovaniemi!!

We stayed one night in the glass igloo during autumn, so the SnowHotel was still under construction and, according to one of the staffs, set to reopen in early December. Even so, the experience was lovely and memorable. The igloo was cozy and warm, though a bit tight for three people. At night, we didn’t get to see the northern lights or stars, but the view of the moon and quiet Arctic sky was peaceful in its own way. The pop-up ice bar was a fun surprise — I had a lingonberry gin there and it was fantastic! The shared sauna beside the restaurant was also a great way to relax before bed. Although we had to leave early for Tromsø and missed breakfast, the reception staff thoughtfully prepared a packed meal for us. The weather wasn’t ideal, but that’s part of the Arctic charm. Overall, it was a unique experience and the staff made it even better. I’d still give them 5 stars! 🌙

The Good: The glass igloos are well designed. Nice public sauna. Nice facilities. I recommend the free Snow Hotel Tour - quite interesting. The Bad: I highly recommend you skip the €69 dinner - just simply not worth it. It is good, and convenient, but not €69 good - had similar meals for under €20. Also didn't like all the restrictive timing on facilities like sauna and Sky Bar, but it was slower season October.
Don W — Google review
We spent three magical nights at the Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos and it was truly a dream come true. The highlight of our stay was witnessing the northern lights on two incredible nights — a breathtaking spectacle we’ll never forget. The igloos were cozy and offered stunning views of the sky, making the experience even more special. The staff was friendly and attentive, and everything felt thoughtfully designed to enhance the Arctic adventure. We left with hearts full of joy and memories that will last a lifetime. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a unique and awe-inspiring getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at the Arctic Snow Hotel & Glass Igloos in October. The reception and staff were friendly, approachable, and even allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated. The glass igloos were beautiful — cozy, warm, and the adjustable reclining beds made it extra comfortable. The property itself is gorgeous, with a serene lake and sauna options that make it a perfect spot to relax and catch the sunset. A small tip for future guests: the shower offers around 50 minutes of hot water with a 3–4 hour refill cycle, so plan ahead if you enjoy long showers. Breakfast was tasty, but it’s best to arrive early — food options aren’t refilled once they run out, even though guests still arrive within breakfast hours (we came about an hour before closing). The aurora alarm worked perfectly — it went off just about a minute after our aurora app alerted us! We were lucky with clear skies and got to watch the northern lights dance above us for over two hours — truly unforgettable. Since we had an early checkout and reception only opens at 8 a.m., the team kindly prepared a breakfast bag for us with yogurt, sandwiches, and oranges to collect the night before — a thoughtful touch. Lunch and dinner are at an additional cost (€15–70 per person). We tried the salmon glow-fried over an open fire — delicious! The sautéed reindeer was a bit chewy for our taste. Taxis to and from the area take about 20–30 minutes to arrive and cost roughly €40–70 each way, though the hotel can help arrange transportation. Overall, it was a fantastic experience — a great place to unwind, enjoy nature, and witness the aurora in comfort. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lapland!

We booked an early winter package: ice sculpting and restaurant. We really enjoyed the activity, our guide was really good! And the restaurant was nice too, although no drinks are included in the menu (not even water) But we definitely enjoyed our visit and even got to try the ice bar pop-up!

Nestled on the tranquil shores of Lake Inari, Wilderness Hotel Inari offers a range of cozy accommodations, from innovative aurora domes to traditional log cabins. Guests can enjoy thrilling winter activities like husky dogsledding and cross-country skiing before unwinding in their en-suite sauna. The hotel's restaurant serves seasonal menus with panoramic lake views, and guests may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
We enjoyed Villa Inari immensely. Was a very nice accommodation. The environment, the hotel, the guides, your staff and the food was super good ! Everyone was very friendly. The food was delicious, the activities were very well organized and fun to do. The team of guides did a perfect job. There was enough attention for both us and our children. As a family we had our best vacation ever ! If I had to describe the villa in 1 word = AMAZING ! Very nice view, great fireplace, sauna area and jacuzzi was good to relax, very nice finish and beautiful rooms. And thanks again for the welcome with drinks and sweets.

Easily one of the best experiments of our lives. Amazing staff, amazing buffet (we had the half board which includes breakfast and dinner and it was perfect for us). Overall, an unforgettable experience, and honeymoon for us. We were lucky to see aurora two out of the four nights we stayed. First night at the Aurora camp and third night standing on the lake. Thank you all so much for the memorable experience, we will be back !!

Stayed in a normal room which was very nice. Modern and well furnished. The meals here are very good. Breakfast is a large buffet which is excellent. This by a long way the best place to have dinner in the town. Although portions are quite small it’s very nicely cooked. The restaurant is a lovely place to be with high ceiling and view across the water.
Sean — Google review
We had a lovely cabin with lake view and are very thankful that we could switch to this one since it was low season! Thank you so much ☺️ The cabin was sooo cozy and the smell of the sauna amazing! We loved all the little details and would just add bathrobes! Unfortunately the aurora alert is not complimentary like in other hotels, that’s a bit of a negative point. The equipment and the fury are high quality and everything does not look not look good but is also really comfortable!
Theresa G — Google review
What would make it a 5/5: the resort is set in a lakeshore environment of outstanding beauty. All the buildings (main, cabins, igloos) seem to be newly built or refurbished and, in general, they are designed to be neatly decorated and elegant. The Aurora Cabin, at first sight, looks as a beautiful, peaceful and super comfy. And it could be, with some simple changes. But... (see below). Breakfast is served in the beautiful restaurant, where the food is very good and the views are stunning. What makes it a 2/5: if the price had been 180€ per night, I would have been prone to give a higher score. But for 230€ per night I expect semi-perfection, and the experience was very far from that. 1) the super discomfort of the climate inside the Cabin. NO WINDOWS to be open, so it is impossible to regulate the temperature and/or to have fresh oxygen. While outside there was 11°C, inside the cabin we had 24°C. It is unacceptable to use the air conditioner when outside it is the end of arctic summer... the only way to mitigate the discomfort was to keep the door open... which is totally inconvenient (plus resulting in mosquitoes coming in). A small window would do the trick. 2) bed linens were not clean: they were full of hair and stained. Which is unacceptable in 2025: use a professional cleaning service!! 3) the sofa bed was of the worst quality ever!! We used it as a sofa, even though that way is small for an adult. But the "bed configuration" was unacceptable". IKEA sells far better sofa beds at very reasonable prices. 4) it is OK to have a shower without a tray but then the bathroom floor must be built with an adequate impluvium, so that you don't flood the entire room each time you open the faucet. 5) they made us pay for the sauna: unacceptable, considering what we spent!! 5) the otherwise fabulous glasses of the cabin were not clean (also from the inside...full of greasy spots). Thus, making difficult to see the northern lights from the bed, which is why one would spend so much...

The hotel’s breakfast was excellent and very varied, definitely worth trying. The rooms were clean and tidy with an amazing view, especially if you plan to see the Northern Lights. The staff were very cheerful and kind, always willing to help. The hotel’s transport service was also excellent.

We had a fantastic time! Great location with wonderful activities to experience the beauty of northern Finland. Our accommodation was excellent and staff and guides were fantastic.
Bron B — Google review
From the moment we booked, everything was seamless and easy. We decided to upgrade to an Aurora Cabin (with an extra charge, as these aren’t included in the Inari Discovery package) and had many questions beforehand. The staff member we corresponded with was incredibly patient and kind, guiding us every step of the way. We arrived past midnight, and the arranged taxi was waiting at the airport—no delays or confusion. The driver kindly helped us with our keys and drove us straight to our door. Inside the cabin, a delicious prepacked dinner (included in our package) awaited us. Since we missed dinner hours, they thoughtfully prepared it in advance and placed it in our room—a detail we truly appreciated after a long travel day. The Aurora Cabin was stunning: cozy, beautifully designed, and cleverly laid out, with panoramic views of Lake Inari. Inside, there was a bathroom and shower, two armchairs, a desk, two nightstands, a drawer, and a luggage rack—everything you need to feel comfortable. The property offers a lakeside sauna for €10 per 30-minute private session, with a small path leading directly to the lake for a refreshing dip—a true Finnish experience! There’s also a cozy fire pit near the lake, always stocked with wood, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful scenery. Housekeeping was excellent and done daily in the Aurora Cabins (every second day in other rooms). We especially loved the adorable towel swans waiting on the bed when we arrived—a sweet welcome touch. The hotel offers several accommodation options, including cozy hotel rooms (Juutua and Otsamo buildings), log cabins, panorama chalets, and the Aurora Cabins (which we highly recommend for their incredible lake and sky views). We were celebrating a special occasion, and to our delight, the staff surprised us with a thoughtful gesture we hadn’t anticipated. It made us feel truly cared for and made our stay even more unforgettable. The food was outstanding throughout, from the generous breakfast buffet (7:00–10:00) to delicious dinners. The activities included in the Inari Discovery package were well-organized and fun, with knowledgeable guide and smooth transfers. Our tour guide was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and always punctual. He shared fascinating insights into local history and culture, even teaching us how to identify berries by their leaves during a nature hike—a truly memorable and unique experience. We travel often and have stayed in many hotels worldwide, but Wilderness Hotel Inari truly stands out as one of our favorites. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing. We cannot wait to return and experience this magical place again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax, connect with nature, and enjoy authentic Finnish hospitality.

Nestled in Rovaniemi, the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel offers chic accommodations and a creative atmosphere. The hotel features the Rakas restaurant and bar, where guests can savor local flavors under pine-cone lamps. Unique experiences at the hotel include wool sock walks, providing a gentle form of barefoot walking to activate foot muscles and improve blood circulation. The cocoon-like accommodations are set in stilted suites on a gently sloping hill with stunning views over the treetops.
Very lovely and luxurious rooms. it’s very near to both the airport and Santa Claus village. Santa park is just right beside! The hotel staff here are all very friendly and professional. Thanks to the hotel team for the hospitality for me and my wife during our anniversary. The view at night is beautiful and they have valet service all day to transfer you from your room to the reception or Santa park!
Jevhuehue — Google review
First of all the rooms are really tiny and there are many options in Rovianiemi which are better properties bigger rooms and better rates. Recently had a very bad experience with the property of Arctic tree house. We booked it four months in advance at double the rate. Suddenly when we check in we saw that the price is half of what we had paid. We asked for an upgrade for the experience we had but the management and staff were not at all helpful even though the Executive room was available at the price we paid they were not ready to help. I took this up with the property and they were not able to help with my problem. We earlier had asked for a Price match but we even gave them an option of a room upgrade….The room that we were looking for was priced the same as the room we had paid for. Concluding here please don’t be fooled with the names like suite which is actually 1 tiny room. Hoping no other guest have to face this issue like us. Please be careful before booking with Arctic tree house hotels at Lapland.
Estelle M — Google review
The hotel rooms are beautiful and unique. The Rakas restaurant was excellent. We were surprised, however, that the location is very close to the Santa Claus park, which was not a plus for us. If you are looking for wilderness, this is not it! Also, we were disappointed that the sauna required 3+ hours notice and hefty fee for use. We still had fun, but a few things were disappointing.
Julie G — Google review
We stayed in Arctic tree house hotel for 3 days. We found the experience underwhelming. For the price you pay, only breakfast is included. And for all the 3 days we stayed, breakfast was the same everyday. It was kinda surprising and disappointing for the amount we pay. Nothing is included in the price like a gym or a sauna. We expected hotel staff to give us some recommendations but didn’t get any. Just a pdf with expensive activities list. View was great but the rooms were tiny and hot water was limited. We stayed in an Airbnb next few days with an extremely cheap price but they had everything including an in house sauna. So you get the gist. Staff were courteous and polite.

I loved everything about this hotel. The staff were very kind, pleasant and helpful, the rooms are great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend booking this hotel when you’re in Rovaniemi
Moza S — Google review
This hotel is honestly a tourist trap. Please don’t confuse expensive with luxury. This is far from a luxury property; it is only unduly expensive. The staff at reception are poorly trained in both their own policies and general customer service. When booking through Hyatt, the number of people allowed per booking is fixed at 1. If you try to book for more people, it will not allow you. It also does not allow you to modify to add more people. Why? Because then this hotel tries to charge you €75 extra per night per person for any people staying in addition to the 1 person. Even if you book a 2-bedroom house with a listed occupancy of 6, you will need to spend €75 extra per person for the additional 5 people. The service is not professional nor personalized. Again, this is not a luxury property. Management here should be sent to the Storfjord Hotel, also a Mr. & Mrs. Smith property in Norway, if they want to learn how to provide a luxury, personalized experience. The glasshouse is directly facing trees, blocking any possible view of the sky. Also, the artificial light pollution from the city nearby is strong. And the chairs in the deck are so uncomfortable, they would be better used for firewood. This hotel is not remote or in the woods like the pictures show. It is not a nature experience. You are right off a major highway and all you hear is cars and trucks. Not a peaceful experience. The only saving grace is the restaurant which has wonderful staff and food. I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me to.
Evan M — Google review
We booked with arctic tree hotel to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and to see the Northern Lights. Staff, every single one, went beyond and above to make us comfortable. They are a joyful and organized staff. The hotel itself is unique, spotless, and very well situated for viewing Northern Lights and visiting Santa’s village and the town of Rovaniemi. The restaurant is exquisite! The breakfast buffet boasts Lapland favourites and the dinner menu is exquisite!!! If we didn’t live so far away in Canada, we would visit again and again!!!!

Glass Resort offers a cozy seasonal retreat with warm apartments featuring private saunas. The resort's 24 pod-like apartments have glass ceilings and walls, providing stunning views of the frozen forest and northern lights. Guests can indulge in private hot tubs and saunas, as well as dine at the on-site restaurant with a glass-lined interior.
From the moment we arrived, Glass Resort impressed us. The staff was amazing, and everything felt luxurious and thoughtful. We stayed in the Deluxe Glass Apartment, which was huge and beautifully designed, with a private sauna, outdoor hot tub, spacious dining area and lounge space. The kitchen was fully equipped, modern and clean. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the sky and landscape so you can stargaze or even spot the Northern Lights from bed. The restaurant was very cozy, with high-quality food and great vegetarian options—the gnocchi and crème brûlée were highlights. Being just a short walk from the famous Santa Claus Village, there’s always something to do. A flawless stay—highly recommend!

Amazing 3-Night Stay at Glass Resorts We had an incredible 3-night stay at Glass Resorts. The experience was truly unforgettable. The accommodation was stunning—modern, cozy, and perfectly designed to take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. One of the highlights of our trip was witnessing the Northern Lights on one of the nights—it was absolutely magical and felt like a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The large windows and private hot tub made it easy to relax and enjoy the view. The service was excellent, and everything was well-organized from check-in to check-out. Highly recommend Glass Resorts for anyone looking for a unique and luxurious Arctic getaway.

Staying at the Glass Resort in Finland was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, every detail reflected true Scandinavian luxury and warmth. The complimentary airport transfer was seamless — a friendly driver greeted us right on time and helped with our luggage, setting the tone for an effortless stay. Upon arrival, the staff took care of our bags and arranged for luggage transfer directly to our room, so we could immediately begin relaxing. Even after check-out, they kindly kept our luggage safe while we explored the nearby snowy trails — a thoughtful gesture that allowed us to make the most of our final day. Our glass apartment was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered an incredible view of the surrounding Arctic wilderness. The highlight was undoubtedly the private outdoor hot tub — impeccably clean and perfectly heated, providing the ultimate spot to unwind under the Northern Lights. The attached private sauna added another layer of relaxation, combining modern comfort with a truly Finnish experience. The resort’s restaurant exceeded all expectations. It’s rare to find a place where every meal feels like fine dining, but Glass Resort achieves just that. The menu featured local ingredients prepared with elegance, and the service was both professional and personal. The breakfast buffet each morning was equally impressive, offering a rich spread of fresh pastries, smoked salmon, fruits, cheeses, and hot dishes — everything you could want to start your day in style. Overall, Glass Resort masterfully balances luxury, comfort, and authentic Arctic charm. Every aspect — from the pristine facilities to the exceptional hospitality — made our stay unforgettable. It’s the perfect retreat for anyone seeking tranquility, indulgence, and a touch of Northern magic. Highly recommended.

Glass Resort is an amazing accommodation for anyone who visits Lapland. The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful and caring (comforting us when we accidentally broke a glass). The room is spacious with a nice view of the trees, the sky and the snow. It allows you to indulge in the nature while staying warm and cozy in the room. We really enjoyed the indoor sauna and the outdoor jacuzzi, especially when it was snowing. Food and service were great, you get to choose 3 courses from a menu with local delicacies. Staying in Glass Resort is a highlight of our Finland trip and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Our experience at this resort was absolutely lovely. It’s in a really great location, right by Santa’s Village and Snowman World- offering easy access to family fun activities. The accommodation itself is modern, clean and beautiful, but the personal sauna & out door spa is what really makes this place fantastic. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The dinners were 10/10, SO yummy and filling. Our time here was incredible. I will say the privacy whilst in your hot tub is non existent, and the lights of the restaurant/ property are a bit over powering when trying to see aurora. Just a couple minor things, but other than that everything was incredible. Thank you!

Located a short ride from Rovaniemi airport and picked up by the hotel shuttle. The individual “igloo” features private sauna with an outdoor heated bubble jacuzzi and most interesting glass ceiling so that one can view the night sky with little light pollution. Mid October temperature ranges from 2-9 ish but is prime time for Aurora viewing. The in-house restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner was really enjoyable. Staff and service was top notch. Walking distance to Santa Claus Village. On the whole, really enjoyed the private sauna and outdoor jacuzzi.

★★★★★ Exceptional Stay at Glass Resort! Our stay at Glass Resort in Rovaniemi was absolutely magical! The accommodation was stunning, with breathtaking views of the snowy landscape through the glass walls and ceiling. The private hot tub was the perfect touch for a relaxing and unforgettable experience. A special thank you to the incredible staff for their outstanding service. They made us feel truly welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The birthday surprise was amazing—a beautifully crafted cake that was not only gorgeous but also delicious! Everything was perfect, from the cozy yet luxurious atmosphere to the exceptional service and attention to detail. We highly recommend Glass Resort to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable stay in Lapland. Thank you for making this trip so special!

Nestled in the woodlands of Saariselka, Wilderness Hotel Muotka offers a range of cozy accommodations including panorama cabins, hotel rooms, sauna rooms, and aurora cabins for Northern Lights viewing. The family-owned resort provides a touch of luxury with buffet dining and various outdoor activities such as Northern Lights tours and wilderness experiences. Guests can enjoy free WiFi in the main building while being surrounded by nature.
A beautiful resort which made our Finland trip truly memorable. There is no need to chase the auroras if u stay here. We got the best view of the northern lights from our rooms!! And of course you can move out anytime you like for wonderful photography. Food too was good given the remote location..

First of all: the area around the Muotka Hotel is beautiful. We did the Husky sleigh, snowmobile with reindeer Farm and Aurora Hunt by car. The guides were very friendly and helpful. It seems that they really like what they do. First we stayed in the River Room, it was not what we expected, especially not for the high price. The amenities were old and not very clean. We asked to switch rooms which was possible. We switched to a Wilderness room which was located in the mainbuilding. This room was great! Close to the dining area (food was yummy), quiet and a nice view. We were happy about the fast and uncomplicated switch of the Room. All in all we would recommend the Muotka Wilderness Hotel.

Absolutely great experience. The hotel is in the middle of nature, yet has all the comfort you need. The rooms are cozy and have a private sauna (except aurora cabins). In the houses for 5 there is also a fireplace for which wood is provided. The staff, guides and waiters are very friendly and patient. We were there with 3 kids (6,8,10) and during all the activities the guides were so good with the kids. The food is amazing! 3 times a day there is an open buffet, which would make any person happy. All in all it couldn't have been better. Best holiday of our lives!

Visited in February 2024. A wonderful stay at Wilderness Hotel Muotka! We were lucky to spot the Northern Lights during our visit, which made the experience truly magical. The hotel went the extra mile for Valentine’s Day, with lovely decorations and a special dinner that made the occasion feel even more memorable. My room had a private sauna—a fantastic bonus after a day in the snow. Interestingly, my friend booked the same room type but didn’t get a sauna, so it seems worth double-checking when reserving. Tip: Arrive early so you have time to explore the surroundings and figure out the best vantage points for aurora photography. Some spots offer clearer views with less light pollution, and it helps to be prepared when the lights appear suddenly.

I've just finished a 4 night stay as a solo traveller in this hotel. I booked it through a third party company where I had 2 activities booked each day. The hotel is lovely, small and clean. I stayed in a premium suite room, which was great just for me. All the staff were lovely and friendly and the excursions were amazing. The food was pretty good too, not a huge amount of variety, but I personally thought it was fine for a few days. You are also provided with a pair of boots, mittens, socks and a snowsuit for the duration of your stay, which was great and definitely needed in the -20 degrees i had on day one. You were also given your itinerary for the week if your excursions were pre-booked with timings etc. I'd say the only cons of my stay were the quite pricey drinks as they weren't included, the fact that you take yourself to your room on the first day, I arrived in the dark so got a bit lost, lack of places to dry your clothes in your room, no radiators or towel rails, lack of communication for my check out, as I asked the night before about settling the bill and where to leave key card, which may have been mentioned on arrival, but a reminder would have been nice because if i didn't ask, i would not have known. And the final con was that my taxi was 40 minutes late to take me to the airport as he overslept....no apology from the hotel or explanation until i asked, which was quite annoying as I was on my own waiting at 6:10 in the morning. But all in all I highly recommend this place, I had an amazing time on my own and met some lovely people on the activities and made some wonderful memories in the magic that was Lapland.

We recently visited this hotel and absolutely loved our stay. We booked directly through the hotel’s website, choosing the Muotka Winter Adventure Week package with a premium room. The room was modern, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The premium room itself isn’t very large, so we spent most of our time in the main building, which turned out to be one of the things we appreciated most about our stay. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, almost like being in your own living room, with other guests feeling more like familiar faces than strangers. There’s plenty of space for everyone to relax, enjoy a drink, read a book, or play a board game. But more often than not, you’ll find yourself exchanging stories about the stunning surroundings and the fantastic activities. In addition to our package, we booked the 4-hour e-bike adventure, and it was fantastic! The guides are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do—it really shows. The kitchen deserves special mention as well. Preparing meals for 200 guests every day is no small feat, yet they manage to deliver dishes that are consistently delicious and thoughtfully prepared. We really appreciate good-quality ingredients and a “less is more” approach, and the food here exceeded our expectations. As Europeans, we were familiar with many of the dishes, but the quality here was far beyond what you’d expect from a typical 3-star hotel—it easily feels like a 4-star experience. We also noticed that guests outside of Europe were not as excited about the dishes because their food is simply more engaging/spiced to begin with. Finally, the reception and activity desk staff deserve praise for their efficiency and professionalism. Despite the sheer amount of work happening behind the scenes, everything runs like a well-oiled machine. The entire operation is seamless, and guests are made to feel like everything is under control at all times. Thank you for an unforgettable experience—we will definitely be back! For anyone still on the fence, yes, it is a costly holiday but it’s not an expensive holiday, it is worth it.

We had an incredible stay at Wilderness Hotel Muotka in November 2019. The location was peaceful and stunning. Perfect for relaxing and experiencing true Lapland. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the sauna was a great way to warm up after a day in the snow. This place is a hidden gem—cozy, beautiful, and unforgettable. Highly recommended!

The Arctic Fox Igloos, situated in Ranua, Finland, is a chic and remote hotel offering sleek rooms with glass igloo-style living spaces. Opened in December 2018, this new addition to the world of glass igloos boasts a total of 20 units, half of which face the open lake for an unobstructed view of the Arctic sky and a chance to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights.
Wow! While we had lots of day photos, the night ones demonstrate the value you get staying here. A standalone cabin, it comes with its own sauna and kitchenette. But the bath design can be better as the shower runoff will seep out into the WC area... You can turn on as much light you wish or tune it down. Rise the blinds and pull the curtains for privacy. Meals at the restaurant can be better (its acceptable) but there isn't alternative unless you self drive here. Overall we maintain the 5 stars as the ambience overrides all other factors.
Mel M — Google review
We had one of the front igloo directly by the lake. Fantastic views of course but igloos are not well equipped, only 2 chairs (nothing to sit outside), barely any space to put clothes, and no window to open (would be possible with mosquito nets). Glass ceiling is great of course, in-room sauna also very nice. But overall feels more like camping in a hut than a lodge
Philippe D — Google review
Staying at the Arctic Igloo Hotel was an absolute dream! The igloos are such a delightful mix of comfort and magic — they’re so modern and cozy inside, and you can enjoy the stunning views of the Arctic skies right from your bed. Trust me, watching the northern lights dance above while lying snug in your igloo feels like something straight out of a fairy tale. The peaceful snowy landscape, the breathtaking beauty all around, and the warm hospitality really made our time there special. From the friendly welcome to the little thoughtful touches throughout our igloo, everything was just fantastic. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s an adventure and a memory you’ll cherish forever. One tip: don’t forget to bring your own Ugg boots or slippers for extra coziness inside!

The mini croissants for breakfast were top notch! Went for seconds. The restaurant area is beautifully warm and cozy. Rooms are well kept, just tricky to find the best place to use the hair dryer with a mirror.

Wonderful experience staying in a glass igloo! There’s a private sauna inside the bathroom. Also kitchenette for simple cooking. The shower is alittle small though. Otherwise really lovely stay!!!
Dai S — Google review
My husband and I recently spent five days at the igloos. While we enjoyed the organized activities (the husky sledding was a highlight!), there are a few points to consider if you're planning a winter stay. Please note that this was the first time I've been to Finland and not sure if this is normal for the culture: - Luggage transport: Guests are responsible for transporting their own luggage to and from the igloos even though the car can drive up to the room. While sleds are provided due to the amount of snow you'll need to trudge through, they are often unavailable at reception. - Activity Transportation: Most activities depart from the main building, requiring guests to arrange transport. While minor delays were common, we experienced a significant wait (30 minutes in -22°C weather) for our return transport after a late-night activity. The lodge was closed as it was 11pm and we had to call the emergency number and wait outside for a car to pick us up. - Dining: I'd highly recommend buying your own food to take to the igloo. There is a small kitchen, pan, plates and cutlery and fridge as well. The dinner at the lodge was 50 euro per person, the portions were really big which is great, however the osso bucco we had was extremely dry and tough which made it difficult to find the edible portions. - Lost and found: Try not to leave anything behind as you might not get a response. I left a piece of clothing in the room upon check out (my fault) and emailed the reception. I waited 2 days and there was no response. I called to follow up several times as often no one picked up and when they did, they mentioned they saw the email but didn't respond as they were unable to find the clothing. It would be great if the staff would respond to the emails so it saves customers from placing overseas calls and trying to catch the business hours from another time zone.

As this was the most expensive accumulation in our trip, we do expect more luxuries to justify the high price. These igloos have 270 glass view. Would assume the view will be great if there were clear sky. We could not see much because of heavy cloud coverage and snowing. They also come with saunas and kitchen. The kitchen has induction cooker and microwave, and comes with some salt and pepper. Will be better if their kitchen has an oven and olive oil. The salt is too little, so we didn’t add salt when boiling pasta. For Onsen eggs, as they didn’t have ice cubes, we took the snow outside to cool down the eggs to ensure the egg yokes remain in liquid state! What we don’t like is that the temperature is centrally managed and we find the room too warm and stuffy to sleep well. Some just kept their doors opened for ventilation as there is no window at all. Their breakfast has limited selections, but their coffee and pancakes taste great!

Amazing place. Phenomenal view. Food that was served was also fantastic, especially we fell in love with the homemade bread. Location is amazing, food was really good, particularly the home made bread. However, our experience was not very pleasant as we have been informed just one hour before (while on the road) that dinner was strictest fixed at 6pm. We had a discussion with the owner that finally managed the dinner at 6.30pm after a long unpleasant talk. Overall the place is very nice but some good manners should be learnt as paid price is really high. Suggestion is to manage a more affordable sauna (currently 600+ euro)

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Arctic Land Adventure Glass Igloos. The glass igloos were beautiful, comfortable, and afforded spectacular views over the lake. The location is quiet, peaceful, and dark so that you have the best chance to see the Northern Lights. We got our best view there over the course of our 2 week trip. Mia is friendly and helpful. She even called us when the Lights were out to make sure that we didn't miss them. The food was amazing. We enjoyed every meal. We had a great time doing the Sauna Experience, and having hundreds of reindeer just hanging around was a dream. Mia's husband even fed the reindeer in front of the igloos one day so we could an up close view. I highly recommend staying here. It was a highlight of our trip.

A place you must visit to truly understand the beauty & wonder of the landscape! A very intimate, and magical wonderland. The owners provide one on one service to their guests. We woke up viewing some of the most vivid northern lights we've seen from our igloo! Watching the reindeer each day in their natural environment was amazing! The food each day was divine as well! A truly magical place and one of the best experiences of our arctic journey.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arctic Land Adventure Glass Igloos. The location is incredibly quiet, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway and, if you're fortunate, for observing the Northern Lights. It is far from any sources of light pollution and offers an unobstructed view of the lake. The igloos are impeccably clean, spacious enough even for a family with two children, and tastefully decorated with lots of attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was of high quality. Both dinner and breakfast were delightful, showcasing the richness of the local food tradition. The attention and hospitality by the owner, Mia, were incredible. Simultaneously, we felt completely natural and comfortable as her guests. We had an amazing time!
Liutauras S — Google review
We stayed in the glass igloos for two nights with our two young children and we loved it! Though we didn’t see the Northern Lights because it was too cloudy, it was still a magical experience just being there. We got to be part of a reindeer feeding experience, eat delicious traditional Finnish dinners each night that were prepared for us under a charming hut style house with fireplace and be part of the beautiful surroundings of nature. Mia, our host, went over and beyond with her hospitality and services. We felt very comfortable right away. The decors in the igloos and huts were high end brands, so clean and the Christmas decorations were just so unique and special. She always took the time to speak to us and even let our children play with her dogs. We will definitely come back and next time stay longer. We miss you Mia! Thank you for such a memorable stay we will always remember.

Santa's Igloos Arctic Circle is a unique accommodation option located within or near Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi. The igloos are designed with glass windows and ceilings, offering a cozy and private space to enjoy the stunning views of the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed. These igloos are well-equipped with modern amenities such as smart TVs, en-suite bathrooms, kitchenettes, and heating.
A Magical Experience at Santa's Igloos, Rovaniemi Finland! It's definitely one of the most exciting and unique places I've stayed in the world! I absolutely loved the glass igloo!! Falling asleep under the stars and watching the Northern Lights from bed was truly unforgettable. We were so lucky to see the auroras three nights in a row! The property has a great alarm system to notify you of aurora activity, which usually comes through an in-room iPad. One night, though, the alarm triggered the TV to turn on automatically, which gave me quite a scare-not something I expected, but it worked! The heated floors and cozy fur blankets made the space wonderfully comfortable, and we were incredibly fortunate to upgrade to an igloo with a private sauna. The upgrade was worth every penny, also offering the best, unobstructed views. The property is gorgeous and peaceful, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A truly memorable experience-I highly recommend it!

✅ Pros 🌟Special Reminder: Be sure not to miss the stunning skies at sunrise and sunset. • Prime Location: Located next to Santa Claus Village, within walking distance, full of Christmas atmosphere. • Glass Igloo: Stylish and comfortable; enjoy beautiful snowy landscapes by day and starlit skies with the Northern Lights by night. • Thoughtful Service: Aurora alert system can be activated with a simple switch, ensuring you won’t miss the Northern Lights even while sleeping. • Comfortable Environment: Clean and tidy rooms with underfloor heating and air conditioning, warm even in extreme cold. • Dining: Arctic Eye restaurant offers exquisite Finnish dishes like reindeer and blueberry pie; breakfast is rich and uses local ingredients. • Professional Staff: Friendly and multilingual, able to assist with Lapland activities such as husky sledding and snowmobiling. • Unforgettable Experience: Romantic and memorable, perfect for couples or special occasions. Although a bit pricey, it is worth it for such a once-in-a-lifetime memory. ❌ Cons • High Price: Accommodation can be expensive, especially during peak Aurora season; plan your budget in advance. • Limited Space: Igloo rooms are compact; may feel cramped with lots of luggage. • Limited Dining Options: Only a few restaurants on site; long stays may feel repetitive. • Weather Dependent: Northern Lights viewing is subject to weather conditions, not guaranteed. 📍Booking Notes : During peak season, rooms are in high demand; reservations must be made months in advance, limiting last-minute flexibility.

Santa's Igloos is right next to Santa's Village so you can go in and out, time visits to avoid queues or take rest breaks. Great, friendly service throughout. Delicious, high standard breakfast and dinner. During our stay, we had dinner included. The igloos are beautiful, comfortable and perfect for aurora gazing, although we only saw faint rays during our stay in early November 2025. We checked in rather late, after kitchen closed for dinner but they cooked us our meals anyway and Elizaveta at reception even delivered these to our room. She is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place! Suggestions for future: Add a communal sauna and hot tub, and covered area for the outdoor bonfire.

Magical Stay at Santa’s Igloo Arctic Circle – Our stay at Santa’s Igloo Arctic Circle was truly delightful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality and excellent service. The check-in process was smooth, and both the reception and restaurant teams were friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. Beautiful, Cozy, and Well-Designed Igloos The igloo was cozy, beautifully designed, and well-maintained, complete with an attached bathroom and shower for convenience. The layout of the igloos is well thought out, ensuring a good level of privacy—unlike other igloo accommodations where they are packed too closely together. This allowed us to fully enjoy the Arctic atmosphere in peace. Well-Equipped In-Room Amenities The room was thoughtfully furnished with a TV, refrigerator, kettle, and complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate sachets—a perfect touch for warming up after spending time outdoors. These small details made our stay even more comfortable. Great Location – Close to Santa Claus Village Another highlight is the location. Santa Claus Village is just a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to visit without needing a car. This convenience added to the overall experience. Unique Aurora Alarm System A special feature of the room is the Aurora alarm system. If the Northern Lights are strong, the alarm will sound so you won’t miss the spectacular sight. However, if you prefer uninterrupted sleep, be sure to turn it off—because during a strong aurora event, the TV will light up, and the "frog sound" alarm is loud enough to wake you up. Delicious Food – A Memorable Dining Experience Our room rate included dinner (one main dish), and the meal did not disappoint. The steak tenderloin was incredible—cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. The side dish, cauliflower with parmesan, was heavenly—beautifully seasoned and well-prepared. Despite it being a busy evening, the dinner service was impressively fast. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a good spread of local dishes. A fun touch was the DIY waffle station, where guests could make their own waffles—a small but enjoyable experience that added to the charm of the stay. A Fantastic Experience From the welcoming staff to the well-designed igloo and great amenities, our stay was truly enjoyable. This was one of the best igloo experiences we’ve had in Finland, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable Arctic getaway.

Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Multiple technical problems in the room though, including (1) Aurora Alerts and Wakeup Alarm, controlled by a Tablet on the wall, didn't work as the tablet went into hibernation when its screen was not being used; and (2) Glass roof heater's safety switch kept tripping, requiring a visit from staff.

Levin Iglut Glass Igloos is a unique seasonal hotel located in Finnish Lapland, offering stylish glass-roofed huts and a 2-bedroom house. Situated near one of Finland's renowned ski resorts, the resort provides an array of winter activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, reindeer rides, and dogsledding.
These igloos are incredible! They are thoroughly insulated. The stars and northern lights were clear too see right through them. They are incredibly romantic. The staff left 2 small bottles of bubbly. The private sauna is bookable, we used it twice in two days. It was thoughtfully designed and built. It was a Beautiful experience.

Expensive but worth every cent. The igloos are super warm and insulated, clean and well decorated. The shower is hot and I liked that it didn’t operate on a timer like some of the other igloo hotels. Breakfast was simple but yummy, dinner was more elevated and quite enjoyable too (we had low expectations after reading some of the reviews, but food and service were good!). Loved the private sauna, but would have preferred if it came with a cold plunge pool. I would have enjoyed my time here even if we didn’t see the aurora, but we did, and that made our time here unforgettable.

I recently stayed in one of the suite igloos for my partner's 50th birthday surprise and it was truly an unforgettable vacation. I had a great deal of organising to do as my travel plans kept changing due to difficulties with flight transfers with it being off-season, and Reeta was extremely accommodating throughout the process. With it being such a special occasion, I had a number of particular requests, which required precision and attention to detail; none of this was any problem to the staff, and they were extremely friendly, accomodating, and professional. I was recommended a number of trips which I took with Soma Adventures, which exceeded expectations, and the igloo was well-stocked, beautifully clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location was amazing, and the jacuzzi sublime. I struggle with a number of health conditions, and rather than being made to feel like a burden, the staff were compassionate and reassuring, even assisting me with last minute changes to help me enjoy breakfast and head out on an excursion with blueberry juice so I could take my medication. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this haven of tranquility, and hope to return soon! Thank you very much!

Staff is great and kind. They took luggage to the room in a handcart. Heated floor and great view! Sadly, the dinner experience does need some work. Took too long for each plate, and the food was average for the wait. Improve the kitchen and it's 5star

We stayed at Levin Iglut Glass Igloos in Finland for Christmas, and it was honestly the best stay of my life. Spending a night under the northern lights in a warm, luxurious glass igloo while it was -20°C outside was unreal — the sky lit up with crazy, dancing green lights that made the whole experience feel magical and surreal. The igloo itself was pure luxury — fully loaded with everything we needed for a cozy stay, from a heated bed to all the modern comforts, all while giving us a 360° view of the Arctic sky right from bed. We went there for our honeymoon, and they made it extra special by surprising us with congratulatory chocolates and a small gift — such a thoughtful touch. We also visited a reindeer farm and had a fairytale ride through the snow — it felt straight out of a storybook. The resort’s heated outdoor jacuzzi under the polar night sky was pure magic, with the northern lights dancing above us. The food was delicious, with stunning views from the restaurant to top it all off. Overall, it was a private, luxurious, and truly magical experience — one I’ll remember forever.

Just visited for lunch on Christmas Day (didn't get a room). Was absolutely lovely. The staff member serving us was just the sweetest and I wish I got her name to thank her more personally. But honestly all the staff were fantastic and really made our Christmas special. The food was just delicious and there were vegetarian options available. We got all three courses.
Mackenzie — Google review
One of the most incredible nights of my life. The reception staff was nice and friendly, and the room was a decent size. There aren't lots of options in the restaurant but that was not a problem for us, we just drove to Levi center and had dinner there instead. I turned on the aurora alerts and we were blessed with a wonderful night. Clear skies and nonstop auroras. My biggest complaint (but wasn't really enough to rip off my experience) is that other hotel guests can just leave their lights on even though they are out on a tour or something. The hotel said they couldn't do anything about it, which I understand but kind of sucked as their kitchen light was directed straight at us. Anyway, as you can see from our pictures it was all still beautiful and amazing. Also lovely to see the lights from the inside, nice and warm, and not outside freezing chasing auroras!

The Suite Igloos are truly something special. The views are stunning, and the whirlpool with a view is a perfect touch of luxury. Plus, you can't beat having premium appliances and complimentary drinks like champagne, soft drinks, water, and wine. But, it wasn't all smooth sailing. The 3-course dinner, with its trout and reindeer, missed the mark. Then there was breakfast...it felt really underwhelming. For less the price, we'd had much more diversity at other hotels in Finland. It didn't help that we had to eat among the dirty dishes left by previous guests, and there was always something missing – plates, glasses, hot water, food, you name it. I don't want to know how it would be in full season. The 15-minute wait for coffees was the final straw. It seemed like they were really understaffed, and it showed.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in the glass igloos. It was an amazing experience and i would highly recommend coming over to visiting this gem for their Northern lights hunt. They had a nicely lit walking trail nearby that led into the frozen lake away from light pollution. We saw the northern lights from our glass igloo as well. It was super clean and the staff were incredible.

I read some of the other reviews and was pretty nervous about having booked a glass igloo in poor condition and terrible service. I understood it was high season so our pricing will be… high. I actually found the service to be decent by the front desk and breakfast staff and the igloo comfort to be quite adequate. Ours was clean and I did put in a request for the one that was farthest from lights. I think if we had clear skies and strong aurora, we would’ve seen it but I do question the location of these igloos. The town is pretty well lit, which is good for walking around but really not good for aurora watching. I ended up walking to Ahvenlampi for somewhere more removed from lights and I did see some faint aurora but even there, there was light pollution. Breakfast was fine too and I particularly liked their yogurt and berries. If you want a chance to see aurora from your igloo, I recommend choosing somewhere else where it’s darker. Igloos were still cool but a bit of a gimmick if you ask me.

We had a wonderful stay at Santa's Hotel Aurora. The staff member at check-in was exceptionally friendly and helpful, quickly accommodating our request for a breakfast box ahead of our early departure and arranging a prompt replacement for a faulty fridge. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and featured a private sauna—a real treat. Despite warm weather, fans were provided to improve air circulation, and the bed was very comfortable with high-quality sheets. The peaceful surroundings added to the relaxing atmosphere, and we even enjoyed drinks outside in the company of a friendly reindeer! We’d gladly stay here again if visiting the area.

Recently stayed in the Premium Igloo at Santa's Hotel Aurora to the tune of £658/night. Unfortunately the room is grossly overpriced and does not warrant this exorbitant price. The room is small, cheap furniture, pillows that are paper thin and one soap for all your needs (bring your own conditioner and lotion). Dust bunnies everywhere, bathroom not very clean. For the cost I expected much more attention to detail. The igloos are close together and not one has a full forest view as advertised on the hotel's website. If you can manage to secure an igloo at the end of the row you will have a partial forest view at best. The hot breakfast was inedible, we went once and didn't go back. Manager was never available the several times we tried to address these issues during our 2 night stay. Overall, a disappointing stay and far from the luxury experience you'd expect from this price point.

I got a one person room with sauna, the room is very nice, clean and most of all cozy. Love the small details and elfs around the room. Food is great, i like the open restaurant and staff was also kind and nice, i would recomment this place.

Overall we found the staff to be pleasant and attentive, loved how close the hotel was to the slopes, and found the breakfast to be both plentiful in choice and for a variety of tastes. That said, the shower doesn’t really get proper hot, just warm, and they do not clean your room unless you specifically ask. Additionally, it snowed and rained a lot during our stay- making the pathway to our igloo quite treacherous, and we found it strange that they did not have the ice cleared or salted or graveled to make it less slick and more safe. That said, the staff was very helpful when we asked and were able to provide us with walking sticks so be sure to ask for those if you have similar conditions. A few things we found deceptive were the wording of “all hotel rooms” having saunas, because the igloos are not counted in that; the photos of the igloos made them look much more spacious and closer to the woods; the bathrooms are cramped and the floor floods when you shower because it is not properly enclosed; the “mini bar” in the room is an empty mini fridge; and their “aurora alarm” is actually an app you install on your phone meaning that you have to have phone notifications on to get the alarm. As others have mentioned, there is simply one soap meant for body and hair, so bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you wish; the beds are rather firm and are two twins pushed together which don’t stay together super well if you move at all in your sleep; the igloos might be nice to see the aurora if the index is high, but they are quite close together and near a well lit hotel so there is a lot of light pollution preventing much from being seen in less ideal conditions. We were able to see the aurora very clearly one night we were there, but the windows were so dirty from the melted snow that we had to go outside to enjoy them and for the most part the outside lights and dirty windows also prevented us from seeing many stars.

I would not stay here in an Igloo. Do not pay the money. This is not the experience you want. The igloos are close to a brightly lit hotel. They are close together. People can definitely see in the igloo due to the cheap curtains. You aren’t out in the Forrest as you would expect. You can’t even drive your car to park and unload your luggage and there is no one to help you. It is ridiculous. For what you pay, get the experience you want elsewhere. . No one would pay this much unless you would be able to stay in a dark area to at least see the beautiful sky on a clear night. Tonight it is clear but you can only see major stars because of all the light from the surrounding buildings. The pillow is as flat as can be. Two beds are pushed together. Read the other reviews. They are all true. The room is tiny which is ok but a section of our glass roof did not clear with heating . It is broken. In general a lack of attention to customer service and detail that you expect when spending this much per night. Just don’t do it. Maybe the other less expensive rooms would be ok if you want to do activities during the day but if this is your dream of staying in an igloo to gaze at the sky, go elsewhere.

Very enjoyable stay, a quiet and relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. Reindeer were walking down the street and we could watch them from our room. The breakfast was excellent, location so close to another restaurant we could walk there to have dinner. Beautiful nature trails starting just next to the hotel.

Wilderness Hotel Nellim is a remote and rustic hotel located deep in the wilderness, offering a truly luxurious experience. Guests can choose from various accommodations such as wilderness rooms, Arctic suites, or private log cabins with personal saunas. The hotel provides a perfect blend of comfort, wilderness, and Arctic activities for an unforgettable stay. It's praised for its great location near the frozen lake and well-organized facilities.
Went here March 2025 for holiday. The journey here was smooth with airport pick-up from the hotel. The entire stay my family and I felt so rested and all our meets were met. There was a lot of things to do from sledding or walking around on your own to the paid unforgettable experience like the husky ride to aurora hunting. You can see the aurora from the hotel itself already though. The staff were all so kind and welcoming. It was perfect 🫶🏼

Overall a very good winter holiday experience. Our lakeside villa is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The food of the buffet spread was delicious with adequate variety. The dessert can be improved. The activities were pre-planned for us and will be better if the guest is given a choice to choose their activities. Also, better safety instructions should be given.

Cabins are great, although we stayed in the main hotel complex. Nice restaurant and bar. We stayed January 2024 for 1 week. Through The Aurora Zone. Flew from Heathrow to Helsinki, then internal flight to Ivalo.

It was my first time being in Lapland and happy to experience it in this Amazing place with nice accommodations, wonderful buffet, different activities. Very nice and friendly staffs and tour guides. Very clean cottage with sona inside, I wish we had second bathroom in second floor of our cottage. The experience of staying in Glass Igloo was also great! I personally enjoyed the snowmobile and husky ride… the snowshoes Aurora camp at night recommended.
Fereshteh M — Google review
I had an absolutely amazing experience at Nelim Wilderness Resort. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. The food was excellent—well varied, healthy, and always delicious. The range of activities on offer is superb. I went husky sledding, joined a snowmobiling safari, did a nighttime snowshoeing camp, and spent time at the aurora camp. Each one was unforgettable. I was also incredibly lucky to see the northern lights—truly a once-in-a-lifetime sight. The staff were friendly and everything was really well organised. If you're thinking of bringing children, I’d say it’s best for ages 8 and up due to the nature of the activities. Can’t recommend it highly enough—it was a magical experience.

Hotel room is clean and spacious. Very simply furnished. Rooms are very noisy. There is no shower curtain which is why unfortunately half of the bathroom gets wet when showering. Quality of the food is not very high. There is only buffet and the food is very basic. Some variety would be welcome. There are also assigned meal times for dinner, which often doesn't make sense as there are also activities in the evening due to the Northern Lights. If the food were a little better, the overall package would be really great! The activities are very well coordinated and organized. Lots of great guides!

My wife, siblings, and I stayed at the Kasari Lodge, and it was everything we had hoped for and more! The traditional log cabin was charming, cozy, and spotlessly clean – the perfect home base for our Arctic adventure. We were fortunate enough to witness the Northern Lights on two occasions, which made the experience even more magical. The Arctic Explorer package was an absolute highlight. The husky safari and snowmobile tours were mind-blowing, offering unforgettable, thrilling experiences that exceeded all our expectations. Every part of the adventure was perfectly coordinated, making it smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The staff at Wilderness Hotel Nellim were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, and they always went out of their way to make us feel welcome and well cared for. The full board buffet was fantastic, with fresh and varied selections that changed daily, ensuring every meal was something to look forward to. We truly had the most incredible time and would love to return in the future. Highly recommend!

Located in the remote Northern Lapland, the Northern Lights Village Saariselkä offers cozy woodsy cabins and a range of activities including snowmobile safaris. The region is known for its frequent displays of the spectacular Northern Lights, which illuminate the skies from late August to April. This natural phenomenon plays a significant role in the mythology and folk culture of the indigenous Sami people.
We stayed here for 3 nights with full board. From the check-in to the different activties, the staff and the guides are friendly. They provide an excellent experience. Please note that Autumn activities are not the same as winter. We went for Aurora hunting for 3 nights. The first 2 were unsuccessful although we saw the lights in the Village itself. On the 3rd night, we were treated to a spectacular Northern Lights display in the skies above the lake near the Russian border. This is amazing. The food fit breakfast, lunch and dinner are delicious. Coffee and tea are available at the restaurant thr throughout the day. I fully recommend this place.

I stayed in one of the Aurora cabins for five nights and saw the northern lights twice! Northern Lights Village does a great job making sure you have everything you need. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food choices are excellent! I went in October, so some of the experiences were not available (because there was not enough snow), but I came mainly to see the northern lights. Seeing them from the warmth of the aurora cabin was a real treat. All in all I would highly recommend booking your experience here.
Amy W — Google review
Wonderful place to stay. We managed to see the aurora in the beginning of April even though they said it's almost end of the season. We booked the sauna and hot pool for 4 person but I feel that one hour for everyone to use the service is limited especially showering with man and women and girl and boys in a family. It's quite rush. After getting the keys and walked to the place, get changed, how much time we would have left to enjoy both hot pool and sauna, taking pictures, and shower and cleaned after that. With that price, we should be given more time. It's not cheap. Everything is money including if you ask for luggage transfer service in and out from room €5/ bag/way. Big luggages with family and children could be a problem. Well, we used the sled to push our luggages and of course it's not enjoyable for a holiday. I thought we would have photography services in our activities but we did not have any. Staffs are friendly and helpful, they helped to pack our breakfast before breakfast time before we check-out early on our check-out day. Activities with the crew went well too, except no photography services as mentioned. We only took photos using our own phones.

Didn't stay at the resort. Had the huskies safari and lunch here. Huskies are so lively and friendly, especially the 3 month baby ones. This time of year no snow sled so the huskies are pulling a jeep instead Food is quite good.

An absolutely amazing complex. It meets all your requirements and is a 10 minute walk into Saariselka if you want to look around. From the collection at the airport through to checking and getting into you hut is seamless. The huts are first class, warms, comfortable and spacious. The experiences on offer are well prepared and executed. Lights tours, husky dogs, likes, history tours.....all well done. The restaurant and staff are second to none. Delicious meals, service with a smile and enjoy a night cap in front of the fire. Recommended 100%.

Magical trip to Santa's lapland. Hotel was great, food excellent, staff were amazing. Perfect location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We recently returned from a great stay. We really enjoyed the hotel, and it’s in a great location. Staff was friendly and breakfast selection was great. We stayed in one of the apartments, and while rooms are a bit dated, we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would return!
Jessica V — Google review
We spent three nights here, with half board. Let’s start from the room, as mentioned they would really need some renovation, everything was very old, the fridge was very dirty, and there was some dust here and there. To be honest, the only positive thing of the room was the sauna in the bathroom, even though it couldn’t reach the temperature of a regular sauna. The food, both at breakfast and dinner was good. Breakfast buffet was really rich and I had one of the best porridge of my life. At dinner there was also a buffet with a couple of mains, a soup, a salad buffet and of course deserts and fruits. Everyone I talked to was really friendly and helpful. The hotel is very central into Saariselka, for this reason there were quite some lights, also in the night, but it’s walking distant to everything there. There’s free parking outside. Overall, it’s a pity the room were so old, I am the kind of person who don’t care much as spend most of the time out, but here it was clear renovations were needed. The rest of our stay was fantastic!

I can't fault the hotel or the staff at all, they've gone above and beyond to help us and accommodate us, they are all so helpful, kind and the rooms are perfect! They are clean, warm and the views are stunning! The food you ask? There's so much to choose, from fresh fruit to amazing smoothies to beautiful salmon and local produce!! Its our first time to lapland and this hotel and its not our last!

A bit surprised that it's a 4 stars hotel... rooms are small, shower is not very practical BUT beds are comfy, staff is super nice and the restaurant is pretty cool and food while not great is nice. Situation is probably why you would go there if you want to discover lapland.

The glass igloo was so homey and cosy, with an amazing view. I looked forward to coming back to this little home after a long day on the slopes. It is perfect for some peace and quiet in the wilderness. The receptionists at the hotel were so warm and helpful. A special shoutout to Sinni who greeted me at the hotel upon my arrival at midnight. Nestled between two wilderness lakes and surrounded by stunning Arctic nature, Apukka Resort is a unique destination just a short drive from Rovaniemi and Santa Claus Village. The resort offers an array of activities including traditional saunas, dogsledding, snowmobiling, and more in the winter. Accommodation options range from cozy Aurora Cabins to spacious villas with private saunas.
Apukka Resort exceeded all expectations. We stayed in the Cabin King Suite, which was brand new, beautifully designed, and offered striking views of the lake—absolutely stunning. The staff was tremendous—warm, professional, and always willing to help. Every guide we met during activities was outstanding and clearly passionate about what they do. The Reindeer Walk was a one-of-a-kind experience, and the Aurora Hunt on Wheels expedition was unforgettable—we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, and the guides made it even more special with their knowledge and enthusiasm. This is a place that perfectly blends comfort, nature, and adventure. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rovaniemi!

5 stars for everything! This place is the very best of the best that Lapland has to offer. Located in Rovaniemi so perfect to meet Santa Claus as well. Apukka Resort is the most unique, warm and luxurious resort you can imagine. Amazing igloo accommodation and perfect lakeside location. Every thinkable activity they offer on site. The best of Apukka is the people who work there. Very welcoming and professional, every single one of them is there to make your stay the best ever.

I didn’t stay at the resort, but I did the Arctic Sunset Boat Tour and it was amazing! We cruised along the rivers and watched the sun dip behind the mountains. Then we stopped for crepes and a hot chocolate around the fire that our guide built and lit on the spot! Our guide Joni was so great! He shared so much about the area and parts of the Finnish life. On our way back to the resort, he was sharing information about the constellations and northern lights. This was such a peaceful and beautiful experience

Perfect autumn holiday in the Lapland. Apukka has its own charm between a modern and rustic vibe. The resort is self sufficient in providing husky/reindeer related experience within the facility. It also offers Finnish Sauna and a little Lappish hike. Breakfast was amazing and service was consistently warm and welcoming among all staff (from the reception, to the restaurant and the driver). The local vegetables and desserts especially the cloudberries cocktails and ice cream are worth trying! Special shout out to Siru, our host for the Husky Farm experience. She shared her insights about the farm and the animals so passionately. We were enriched by the hour spent with her and the huskies.

Our Aurora Cabin was very cozy and there are lovely details: the little “fireplace”, blankets, a carafe so you can drink the tab water etc! But the best part ist the glass: We were lucky and saw the aurora from our bed!!! We also loved the alert specifically for the resort! The resort is at a lake and there is a really nice and easy waking trail! The staff was always helpful! The resort has its own ad adventure Center, but we did not book anything there, since we like to travel / experience more individually! There is also some things to mention, that were not ideal: the shower is not great, because you flood the whole floor! A shower cabin would be better. The resort has reindeer, which is sweet! But they had their leash all the time, stepped on it etc. I really don’t approve that! We wild love to come back though!

If I ever come back to catch aurora light, this is definitely my to-go accommodation at Rovaniemi. Location is superb! Suitable to stay for any seasons as they have different activities available for each season. Their staffs welcome and host your stay with warmest hospitality, and create a memorable and heartfelt experience. Special shout out to Allwin (from Hawaii) for his proactive, attentiveness and friendliness. We were hanging out at the fireplace near the lake (which is a distance away from the main building), he came and helped us with the fire before we can request help from them to start the fire for us

The room was very nice and well equipped. Service was great. Shoutout to Patty. A great property next to the lake. The activities are very expensive so i suggest you keep your expectations in check in terms of what activities you can do on site. They have a WhatsApp number so you can text for help at any time. Someone came to help us to start a campfire at 1am. Aurora sighting on site (some) not very clear. Quiet and sufficient. Restaurants were closed and needed to be booked in advance so they can cook for you. Very safe and walkable. Nice stroll along the river. There’s a live aurora cam for the property and also an alert app for Aurora for Apukka

This was the most magical experience, sleeping in glass cabins looking at the sky at night and in the morning. We loved walking through the resort at night with darkness and open fires guiding the way. The breakfast was delicious with lots on offer from hot breakfast such as eggs, sausages, bacon, pancakes and continental breakfast such as pastries, yoghurts, fresh fruit and breads.

Perched atop Kaunispaa Mountain in Saariselka, Finnish Lapland, Star Arctic Hotel offers stylish suites and glass cabins with stunning views of the surrounding nature. The hotel provides a chic restaurant and bar, as well as a shared sauna for relaxation. Guests can enjoy activities such as skiing, husky safaris, wildlife excursions, and ice fishing in the area.
Amazing hotel in Lappland. Great service, all the activities like husky and reindeer sleighing, aurora hunting or snowmobile tour were perfectly organized and a once in a lifetime experience. Great for kids, our 6yr old boy had so much fun. The hotel itself is on top of a hill and a perfect spot to see the northern lights. We saw them for two nights. Food is splendid too. We would be very happy to come back.

Perched on a peaceful hilltop overlooking town of Saariselkä, this hotel offers a picture-perfect Arctic retreat. We stayed for two nights in a View Suite, and the name doesn’t disappoint—floor-to-ceiling windows frame a stunning panorama of the snow-kissed valley below. The room was everything we hoped for: sleek, spotless, and cozy, with all the essentials thoughtfully provided. During our stay, some melting snow caused minor waterlogging near our room. We requested a room change, and the staff handled it graciously, even helping us move our things. That level of service really stood out. Speaking of service—everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was generous, offering a good spread to suit most tastes, and the in-house restaurant shares the same incredible view. We dined there one evening and tried the Fried Arctic Char and the Reindeer Top Roast. While the reindeer initially came more well-done than we’d requested, the staff replaced it without hesitation—and the second attempt was absolutely spot on. All in all, it was a nice stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in Lapland’s magical landscapes.

We paid more than 600 euros for our stay, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. When we checked into the room, the lights were not working and the room was very dark. The TV (mirror screen) didn’t turn on, the Wi-Fi couldn’t be used, and there was no clear information about how to use the sauna. When we called for assistance, the staff were unable to fix any of these issues. We expected a much better experience for the price we paid. I sincerely hope the management will review these problems and improve the service for future guests, but based on our stay, I would not recommend this hotel at the moment

My travel partner slipped on ice and broke their arm. The hotel was very helpful in navigating emergency care, medical resources, and providing us with the support (to go meals) throughout the stay. They made special arrangements so that my travel partner was able to see the aurora after the injury. They also helped with travel insurance claim afterwards. Other than the injury, I’ve had an absolutely amazing experience with Star Arctic hotel. The staff are super welcoming and helpful, even when I’m asking silly and basic questions. Food is really nice, delicious and with a good variety throughout our stay. Rooms are clean and comfy, I loved the sauna especially. Scenery is breathtaking. Even just staying there is a blessing. Activities are fun and staff is welcoming and considerate. 10/10 would recommend.

I never thought I’d be writing a review like this. I had booked and prepaid a stay at Star Arctic Hotel in Finland, excited to finally visit a place I’d been dreaming of. But life had other plans. On the very day I was supposed to fly, my father died suddenly. Everything stopped. In the midst of shock and grief, I reached out to the hotel, hoping for some human understanding — not a refund, just a simple gesture of compassion: a credit for a future stay. Instead, I was met with a cold, transactional response. “You should have purchased travel insurance,” they told me. As if preparing for death is something we ever imagine we’ll have to do. I pleaded with them. I sent documentation. I explained. Their eventual response? A 25% discount on a future booking — not even close to the cost of what I’d already lost. That was their version of sympathy. Yes, the booking was non-refundable. But in moments like this, policies should take a backseat to basic human decency. So many hotels, even budget ones, offer grace and flexibility when tragedy strikes. Sadly, this hotel chose to hide behind their policy and wash their hands of any empathy. This experience has left a bitter taste that has nothing to do with money — and everything to do with how people treat one another in their darkest moments. If you decide to stay here, I strongly urge you to protect yourself with insurance, because you will find no compassion from the hotel itself, no matter the circumstances

We stayed there for only two nights. Wished i had booked for longer The location is over top of mountain with great views , food at the restaurants was delicious. Service was very good with one old lady staff. The rest of the staff were literally and only fighting with her , clearly not listening to her or even helping her out for the service. That one senior competent women took the entire restaurant in her own hands the place was FULL and packed minimum 20 tables. The two people at the bar had only us as customer but yet they were very very very slow & confused to pour a beer / wine. Once cocktails we ordered that took forever and it was very bad tasting. The young man with the specks needs alot of training , doing the evening shift. ROOM is GORGEOUs BUT sadly no turn down service on both nights. The excrusions activities were spectacular ! must go for husky sledge rides

Wonderful accommodation option in Saariselka atop the Kaunispaa hill. Stayed in one of their glass cabins which was a pretty comfy way to wait for the Northern Lights. Lots of arctic activities can be booked through the hotel. Believe all-inclusive packages (board, lodging, transfers and activities) are also available for guest looking to stay at least 4-5 days. Cable car for the ski resort and starting point of the toboggan ride are also both within walking distance from the hotel. Service is topnotch. Jamie and the rest of the team took great care of us during our entire stay. Highly recommend booking this hotel!

Aurora Village Oy is a secluded hotel located on the shores of Lake Kanentyavr, offering a magical view of the northern lights from September to April. The glass-domed igloos provide a comfortable spot for observing the auroras. Guests can enjoy various activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the frozen wilderness. The property also features cabins with glass roofs for Northern Lights viewing and offers amenities like a restaurant, tour desk, and free Wi-Fi.
This place is AMAZING! The staff is super friendly and accommodating, they kept lunch open late for us, and opened breakfast early for us, due to our booked activities overlapping dining times. From the very start the staff was just amazing. They offer loads of fun activities that include all your winter gear you need. I recommend all the activities that are available, we loved every single thing we did. The cabin itself is just stunning, we saw the Aurora lights every evening right from our bed. The property lights aren’t too bright, so it’s perfect to spot the lights from the property. The whole design and location of this place is just perfect. They offer free snow shoes/skis to go off and explore on your own, which I really recommend, because the property is so big and beautiful. The restaurant was really yummy, we didn’t have one bad meal the whole time we were there. So sad to be leaving this beautiful place.

Aurora Village offers a luxurious glamping experience in the heart of Ivalo. We stayed in one of their glass igloos, which was spacious, cozy, and perfect for two. The reception team was incredibly friendly and helpful — they provided clear information about the restaurant, activities, and everything around the property. There are plenty of activities to enjoy (most need to be booked in advance), but you can freely visit and feed their four adorable in-house reindeer that live right in front of the igloos. We joined the husky ride experience and absolutely loved it! The team provided warm overalls and boots, which kept us comfortable and clean. The guides were knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and shared stories about how the huskies are cared for and trained. We even got to cuddle the puppies — a definite highlight of our trip! Breakfast and dinner are included with the stay, and both were excellent. Breakfast offers a rotating selection of four hot dishes, along with fresh bread, croissants, salads, yogurts, cereals, fruits, and mini chocolate muffins. Lunch is optional (€12 per person) and includes refillable soup and salad. Some soups are quite creamy or tomato-based, so it’s best to check the daily menu if you’re particular about taste. Dinner is a rotating three-course meal (menu available online) — beautifully presented, delicious, and perfectly portioned. There are vegan options as well, which we appreciated since we skipped the reindeer dishes. All the staff at Aurora Village were warm, approachable, and attentive — they really made our stay comfortable and easy, especially during the activities. We visited in early winter, so a few areas were still under renovation (which was clearly mentioned on their website). I imagine the place will be even more magical once everything is fully open and covered in snow, with more activities available. The nearest supermarket is about a 30-minute walk or 10-minute drive away (€20–25 each way). Taxis in Ivalo can be arranged through local hotlines as most ride apps like Uber don’t operate here. Aurora Village also offers their own transfer service, which was smooth, reliable, and well worth using — highly recommended for airport and village transfers. Although we didn’t manage to catch the aurora due to cloudy skies, their aurora alert app was very accurate and helpful for monitoring forecasts. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It’s a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with amazing food, caring staff, and beautiful igloos. A wonderful experience that we’d love to come back to — hopefully next time under a dancing aurora sky.

Absolutely magical experience. The staff are amazing, the activities are wonderful, the cabins are just perfect for sky gazing all night. The Aurora hunt by car was a great night out, even though the lights did not appear. Pim was a wonderful and entertaining host.

Amazing place to stay. All staff were wonderful and friendly. Rooms were perfect. Loved the environmentally conscious theme and rustic cabins. Weather wasn’t the best for seeing the lights, but that didn’t matter as it was a very grounding, quiet and peaceful place to stay. Thankyou for creating such a wonderful space to stay.

Fantastic place to stay. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The 3 course meal at dinner was amazing everyday. The activities we did, were great fun (fat bike forest trail, snowmobile safari, northern lights chasing by car, panoramic sauna). We were lucky to see the northern lights, which were amazing.

We enjoyed our trip to Aurora Village Oy. It was a great location, and we were successful with seeing the Northern Lights. Wish they had finished their advertised renovations—and think it will be an improvement with some larger rooms, some lounge areas, and place to relax between/after activities.

The Village staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms/huts were very clean and comfortable with a great view at night of the sky. The snowmobile and husky trips were exciting and well managed and very worth while. Meeting the reindeer was interesting and again well organised. Would recommend the Village to anyone who wants different experience and a great chance to see the northern lights in their full splendor.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Aurora Village. The cabins were magical and you could see the northern lights from your bed. Also the activities were so fun and the guides were so friendly. A special thank you to Lukas who did everything to make me feel at ease (because I’m pregnant), he really took care of the whole group during activities. We also loved the food which was very refined. You could tell it’s a family owned hotel because everyone is doing their job so well. We will definitely come back.

Nestled beside Finland's stunning Lake Inari, Holiday Village Inari offers a unique blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. This idyllic retreat is perfect for those seeking to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights, with cabins featuring glass ceilings that invite you to gaze at the starry sky from your bed. The Aurora Cabin provides an enchanting experience right by the lake, where guests can enjoy breathtaking views regardless of the weather.
Cabin was super nice, small kitchenette and sauna a big thumbs up👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 all was great and even had the opportunity to catch aurora right from my cabin patio. The only downside is the wifi signals was erratic and weak. Otherwise a great stay.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed!!! We stayed in an Aurora cabin and it was absolutely worth it! Lifetime experience! Also, there’s everything you need in Holiday village Inari! Activities and restaurants! Good spot for the Northern Lights! We weren’t so lucky, as the activity wasn’t strong during our stay , but the frozen lake is stunning to watch anyways!

A bit rural but seems safe. We walked around to the supermarket and back safely. A good experience living in snowing area. We love the sauna in the room. Only day 1 hotel staff will help to clean the path to walk to the room. The next day snow was quite high on the road around 2 inches so wear high boot. During my booking required a minimum 2 days stay. The hotel location is good where have bus stop just opposite the hotel. The bus to Santa Clause Village will pickup passenger from here. Check Kuitti Lipun Ostosta for tickets. The airport shuttle was 40minutes later than the booked time. The reason given was flight delayed but all of the passengers in the shuttle did not receive flight delay notification from our airline although it was true. So all the passengers in the shuttle seem not comfortable and worried will miss the flight. So the suggestion is you can consider Uber as the cost of Uber is similar cost of a shuttle of 2 pax. This is to avoid the last minute stress for flight. You can travel at your own pace. Another unforgettable bad luck was hotel data being breached and they sent message through booking.com app requiring fill in personal data and another payment. I lost nearly 600 euro and am still waiting more than 2 months from both bank and booking.com.

Inari is heaven on a Earth and Visit Inari's (hotel, village, safari...) employes are true Gods. Communication with every single one was true pleasure ❤️ All of them are very friendly and easygoing. You can even find a guy in your own language. As I noticed - Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, English, Finish.. I have been with my 3 kids and my parents. Activities were suitable for both adults and children. We have been located at Inari village, our cottage was just perfect - clean, perfect size for up to six people, kitchen corner with all the basic needs. We also had own sauna what was amazing as our cottage was just by the lake. My parents have had own cottage with "glass wall" what was perfect for watching Auroras straight from the bed. When the time is right we will definitely come back ❤️ This particular holiday experience was the best so far.

Great place to be in winter for a few days. We had a cozy and nice panorama cabin. It was very clean and the kitchenette in the cabin is a big plus If you like to be flexible. Breakfast is good, and you get everything you need. The only thing that could be improved is that the change to an aurora cabin for 1 day was not so smooth. But in all, we can highly recommend the Holiday Village :).

Love this place! Everything is just perfect. The cabin has everything you need and the sauna is very easy to use. We saw aurora right in front of our cabin. Thank you so much for bringing us such an unforgettable experience!

We had an absolutely amazing holiday and our stay at the hotel's holiday village was just lovely. The accommodation was warm, comfortable and had a great view of the frozen lake. All the activities were extremely well organised and very enjoyable. The dog sledding and snow shoeing were particularly good. we were very lucky to see the Aurora as well!!!

After a few nights of camping we were seeking creature comforts for a night and booked a suite here with its own sauna. Lovely new suites with comfortable beds and a small equipped kitchen. A nice sauna in the bathroom makes this the perfect place to shower and warm your bones. A short 7 minute walk into the town Inari. For those travelling with kids, the 2 bed suites have a large comfortable sofa bed.

Northern Lights Ranch is a charming hotel with cozy cottages that offer stunning views of the Northern Lights. The Lappish design and warm atmosphere, complete with a crackling fireplace, create the perfect setting for enjoying delicious Lappish cuisine while watching reindeer just outside the restaurant's window. The 16 Sky View Cabins feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows and roofs, providing an ideal spot to marvel at the Northern skies from motorized reclining beds.
We stayed two nights at Northern Lights Ranch and loved how much there is to do. From feeding baby reindeer and roasting marshmallows by the fire to snowshoeing, ice skating on a heart-shaped rink, and soaking in the private hot tub—it’s packed with activities right within the resort itself. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was a highlight. As vegans, we were so impressed—they created two different three-course vegan menus just for us, with delicious local flavors. The overall vibe of the restaurant was warm and cozy. A magical place that’s as relaxing as it is full of adventure.

It was one of the greatest and coziest experiences we had. The staff if super friendly and the food is great. We got lucky and saw the Northern Lights over our cabin. The cabin itself was an awesome mix between coziness and modern little house. Everything was very clean. We opted for an upgrade with the whirlpool and I would definitely recommend to do that if your budget allows it. It’s incredible to be able to relax in a hottub while you have huge amounts of snow around you and if you are lucky even the northern lights.

We had a lovely time at the northern lights ranch! Our cabin was cozy and I LOVED the floor heating! The glass roof is amazing! We were not lucky with the weather, but also the rain on the roof was very cozy! The bed is super comfy and there is even a microwave in the kitchen corner! Since you can drink from the tab, a water carafe would be a good addition! I don’t know her name, but the lady with long blond hair at the reception gave us such a warm welcome and turned on the fire outside so we could roast marshmallows - that should not be left out! Thank you ☺️ There are reindeers at the hotel, but they were not there in September yet, since they are still roaming around! The hotel has a heartshaped little ice rink, I would love too see it frozen! It’s one of many lovely details! We would have loved to just stay there until there is snow 😁

Our party of three visited for two nights. The rooms and facilities were modern, very clean, and fairly private. The glass ceiling enable one to watch the lights from one’s electrically adjustable bed. The northern lights did appear one of the two nights we stayed. The food in the restaurant was of high quality. The service was good and attentive without being intrusive. The portions were perhaps a bit large on our dinner. We could not finish them. I would definitely recommend splurging on the Northern Lights Ranch if this is your thing.

Absolutely loved our stay at Northern Lights Ranch. The place has this perfect mix of peace and adventure, with a vibe that makes you want to stay longer. The cabin, the setting, the atmosphere—all spot on. We also loved the many activities you can do on-site and the restaurant, where the staff went out of there way to create vegan menus for us.

We stay in Delux+ and the room is very good. It has space for 4 with big kitchen. The glass room is so beautiful. Breakfast is good. The hotel has activities that we can even spend a day or half there. Highly recommended.

Unforgettable stay at Northern Lights Ranch! We had an amazing time in this exceptional place. The warm welcome made us feel at home right away. The setting is perfect for relaxation, and we were lucky enough to witness the magical Northern Lights—an unforgettable experience! I highly recommend this place for a unique Lapland getaway. Lost Wedding Ring I lost my wedding ring during my stay. It is engraved with "Faustine 07/09/24". If you find it, please contact the reception or leave your details there. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your honesty!

I stayed at the Ranch over my birthday and it was a magical experience. The room was incredible and the view into the forest and sky was brilliant. The bed was adjustable and perfect for relaxing and watching nature and the northern lights. The breakfast was very good and each day there was a different lil baked goody. Dinner was just exquisite! I had the chefs choice menu and didn’t regret it. The reindeer was delicious, even though it felt a bit mean eating it while watching the reindeer outside… Huge shoutout to the staff - absolutely friendly and so attentive. I’m a solo traveler and got a great surprise at my birthday dinner - candle in the dessert and a birthday song ❤️ plus chocolate in my room when I got back with a card (which I still have). Had problems with my flight, but they took care of my transfer and called me to check in. Plus I saw my first northern lights. Hopefully I’ll be back one day.

Pyhä Igloos, situated in Pyhantunturi, Eastern Lapland, offers chic cottages with kitchenettes and glass ceilings. The property features ski-to-door access and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy a unique experience surrounded by the Northern Lights and Finnish Lapland's pristine nature. While some guests found the amenities impressive and praised the customer service, others felt that the glass igloos were lacking in features for the price.
We stayed here over NYE and loved it. The rooms were cozy and well equip. Heated floors in the bathroom were a nice treat! Staff was kind, lots of sleds to borrow. Location can’t be beat! 100m to a sledding hill, 4 mins walk to grocery store and cafe. Trails for walking of skiing are 100m away. Beautiful stay! Can’t recommend it enough!

Such a fantastic place to stay, the rooms were beautiful and well equipped, the member of staff that we met at reception was great and so helpful as we’d just arrived in Pyhä too. It was great to be able to use the sledges and take the kids to the slopes after the skiing had stopped. We enjoyed the visit to the hot tub too, very easy and convenient to take your own food/drink. Would stay here again and would recommend.

I had a wonderful stay! The place was just like the pictures — clean, cozy, and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and the supermarket was just a short walk away. The bed was super comfortable, and I slept so well every night. On clear days, I could even see the Northern Lights from my room without stepping outside. It was such a magical experience! Highly recommended ❤️

The best hotel at finland lapland so far. The price is really pricey on Christmas day but the quality of the igloo and the surrounding ski resort is one of the best. You can sled down the hill after 6pm and the distance of sledding can hit a few hundred meters depends on high you walk up. The higher you climb, the stronger the wind there. Although there is no breakfast, you can buy groceries at a near k-market for breakfast and you can cook an Asian breakfast incase lapland hotels are all the same and you get bored after sometime. You can also go to a nearby reindeer farm and feed the reindeer.

We stayed two nights in the « Igloos ». The room is really nice, big space compared to what we had in Finland so far. The bed facing the big windows looking up the sky is awesome. The hosts were really friendly and helped us before and during our stay. We rented the snowmobile available at the hotel. it was awesome, great tip on the road to take. Thanks a lot.

We absolutely fell in love with this place. We contacted the owner very late on Friday and withing two hours we were already checked in the hotel. We were supposed to stay only one night but we ended up staying three nights. Excellent customer service and beautiful rooms! Beds are very comfortable, nice design furniture and table ware. Every detail is well thought! Location is also excellent and we fell in love with Pyhä. We are looking forward to visit again in winter time. Don’t miss this place even in the summer times, we were able to see little bit northern lights from the bed in August! Thank you!

Santa Claus Village is a year-round Christmas-themed attraction located just outside Rovaniemi. It's the most popular tourist spot in the area, where visitors can meet Santa Claus himself and explore shops and an igloo hotel. The village offers a festive atmosphere with its Santa Claus Post Office, where guests can send Christmas cards or postcards from Lapland.
We loved being able to meet Santa Claus, have a nice chat, and take a beautiful photo. He is very charismatic and attentive. The staff was also helpful and kind to us. We purchased the printed photo as well as the digital version by email. It turned out beautiful! We also sent postcards to our family that will be delivered at Christmas — it was a truly moving experience!
Aline C — Google review
I know of wearied travellers who eschew the experience because it’s highly touristy and everything’s ridiculously overpriced and to be perfectly honest, I do not disagree with any of that. Personally if I were from a neighbouring Nordic country with the same reindeer and the same snow and the same subzero temperatures, I would probably be rolling my eyes at the entire spectacle myself. However, as fate would have it, I am seated on another line on the globe altogether- more specifically, the Equator Line- so you can imagine how (and why) all this was truly a Heaven-on-Earth moment for me. I am so personally deeply obsessed with Christmas so I cannot even begin to wonder just how to break down this place to you without bias. I love how vast the Village is (like, it is literally a village) made up of all these little shoppes and log cabins and park trails; and I definitely love the giant trees and fairy lights and campfires and its very festive spirit all round. Every tree’s a Christmas tree, and every day’s Christmas; and it all gets twice more magical once the snow starts to fall. Here the line is marked, and you can literally cross in (or out) of the Arctic Circle and get a certificate for it too (for a fee, of course). You can also virtually tick off your entire Rovaniemi check list from within the confines of these grounds, starting from accommodation in its cabins and igloos, to your more standard Arctic Circle laundry list including reindeer sleds, husky rides, Northern Lights, ice castles, snowbiling, and more. The one thing you can do here that you cannot do anywhere else though, is write a letter to your loved ones (or even yourself) and post it back via the North Pole post. There’s one that mails out immediately, and one that holds your post until closer to Christmas. It’s all very immersive and whimsical.
Shafinah N — Google review
If you dont have kids, this place has limited appeal. Visiting the Santa is "free", but no pictures are allowed inside and then they want to charge €30+ for a picture, €45 if you want it digital. The Arctic Circle line is cool though.

We spent the weekend in a lodge, snow overnight and then a fantastic day visiting Santa 🎅🏻 and his pets . Including reindeer of course. Toasted marshmallows. Tried everything in Santaland, elves training, gingerbread decoration, watching a superb show. My grandsons were enchanted.
Christine M — Google review
not that much to do here if you're a poor student like us. The whole village and seeing Santa is free but only after waiting for 45mins (if you're here out of season) you learn you can't take photos with him - they take it for u and it's 30€/photo. Santa's pets (a zoo) is 15€, the reindeer and other anaimals are lovely. Otherwise not much to see if your budget is low; a 4 hour visit is definitely enough.
Valentina V — Google review
Lovely village ☃️😍 It was such a pleasure to meet Santa and his adorable pets. The atmosphere is magical and full of Christmas spirit! I’ll get back for sure!

Meeting Santa Claus excited everyone regardless of age. We were looking forward to it. I don't want to believe that you can enjoy talking to Santa so much. He can even thank you in Polish. Despite the visit to the village at 27 degrees ( July), I remember my stay exceptionally. The photo with Santa is one of the most valuable in my photographic collection of memories. Accommodation is very comfortable. I hope to visit the village in winter someday. Friends had a surprise - they received Christmas greeting letters from Santa Claus himself. It's a brilliant idea. I'm glad I was able to give them such pleasure. Unforgettable and interesting memories and souvenirs. Poor Santa Claus.. I had a high fever later that day, I hope I didn't get infected with anything.

A must go place if you are ever in Rovaniemi unless perhaps you're a resident!! In any case, you visit Rovaniemi because of Santa Claus Village right? We went there on a freezing day when the temperature dips to minus 4.. Freezingly cold ❄️ and we ended up running from one indoor attraction to another indoor place to enjoy the warming.. Outdoor activities are really for those willing to brave the cold. Reindeer rides, husky carriages, horses and snow sports. Nice place overall. Lots of souvenir shops all with similar items but prices can be different so be smart. Must do - standing at the Arctic circle line and seeing yourself on YouTube.

Sorrisniva is an extraordinary seasonal lodge located in Alta, at 70 degrees north, where guests can witness the mesmerizing northern lights. The handcrafted ice igloos offer a unique and memorable experience, with basic amenities such as ice beds and free toiletries. The lodge provides various activities including aurora hunting by snowmobile or reindeer-driven sleigh. Guests can also enjoy the restaurant, ice bar, and outdoor hot tub.
A Magical Experience at the Ice Hotel! Visiting the Ice Hotel was an unforgettable experience! The craftsmanship of the ice sculptures and the overall design are truly breathtaking. The rooms, though cold, are surprisingly comfortable with warm sleeping bags provided. The atmosphere is serene, and the attention to detail is impressive. The ice bar, with beautifully carved glasses, was a unique highlight. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for something extraordinary!

Unforgettable experience in January 2025. We have fallen in love with Norway and its people! This beautiful lodge is located about 20 minutes out of Alta in a serene location by the river. The lodge is perfectly designed to provide a once in a life time vacation. We were treated to the story of the lodge told to us by Tor, who is one of the owners, as we admired all of the pictures and artifacts in the hallways. The Northern Lights were best displayed right outside the lodge and all of the experiences offered were spectacular. However, it is the staff that remain in our hearts, they made the trip so special. Everyone, including the young lady in the gift shop that told us about her Sami culture, was exceptional. We recommend this lodge to everyone. They even have wool slippers to wear in the lodge while you sit by the fire!! Loved every minute!

How do I get back to this hotel, NOW! I dream about it constantly. I went with my husband and mother for my birthday and it was such a luxurious and relaxing experience. The rooms, dining and lobby feels like a 5 Star experience but the hallways and amenities feels like summer camp (in the best way!). It is the perfect melding of Arctic circle charm and luxury. The staff, just wow. They are all so friendly and make you feel so pampered. I hope to bring the rest of my family back one day. The cherry on top was the quality of the tours offered by the resort and the most spectacular northern light show!

Everything is perfect. The room is beautiful, the furniture is modern. The room is very well decorated. I can see the aurora at the hotel in a dazzle.

Considering that is a luxury resort, the expectations were high. Rooms and structure is amazing, but: Spa treatments were not available, one of the restaurant was closed and the offer of the other was limited (only 4 main courses). So, I definitely recommend, but they must improve service even during low season (summer).

Everything is great, the prices are high, but commensurate with the quality. I don't like the staff's expectation of tips. Employers are responsible for paying fair wages. This encourages exploitation.
Jan — Google review
This place was more on the pricy side so i did have quite high expectations, and it was both a let down and had some memorable moments. If someone asked me to quickly sum up the entire experience and give them some insights, id tell them to never come here in summer, go on the husky farm visit and lastly, dont go here if you dont like fish. THE PLACE! 8/10 This location in Alta was gorgeous, that's the truth, we loved having the view of the river every morning, we loved getting to ride bikes here, and most of all playing card with eachother in the lounge with the gorgeous view. Only thing that wasn't optimal when it came to the location was how little things there were to do around here, sure it was gorgeous but the closest city was over 30-40 minutes away etc, not a deal breaker, maybe even better for some people! But i did feel like there wasnt TOO much too do. FOOD! 3/10 The breakfast was nice. Thats about the only compliment i can give, as the food was unfortunatly not up to standards. First of all since we were there in the summer, one of the "resturants" were closed which was very unfortunate as the other resturant had around 4-5 main courses ( it was a while ago since i was there, about 2 months so i dont completly remember ) But these 5 dishes were mainly fish, fish, and more fish which was very hard for me as i can't eat fish. There were 2 other options aswell but it just wasn't optimal to eat reindeer heart everyday for 4 days. We did ask the staff if we could have a simple salad that wasn't on the menu for the next day which we actually got, which i am still very grateful for. Im just disapointed the salad was of such poor quality, especially when we notified them in such good notice. Im getting caught up in silly little details, if you DO end up coming to sorrisniva, try the croissants in the breakfast, theyre suprisingly good. Service! 5/10 Troughout this trip there was one woman who just seemed to have a very unpleasant time with both us as guests and working there. I dont like making assumptions but she did have a pretty rude attitude towards us, which we obviously wasn't very fond of. On top of this, there was some other staff that felt quite judgy towards us, but maybe that was just our fault for playing cards in the lounge haha. Service DID bring us things if we needed them, they spent quite a while finding some sort of way for us to cool the rooms as it was boiling, but thats fair as they probably werent expecting it to get that hot. Room 7/10 Gorgeous rooms, our friends had the bigger room which had a minibar, and ours didnt. Wasn't a dealbreaker or anything but i do wish we could have some sort of other way to get food as when the resturants weren't open there werent anything for us to eat. Other than that little inconvenience the room was perfect, gorgeous bathroom, shower that could probably fit over 3 people. Lovely bed, coffee machine and nice curtains. There was 3 remotes in the room if i remember correctly, but unfortunatly 2 of them didnt work, it wasnt a big deal though since we didnt even know what it was for. Activites 7/10 Awesome tour guide, he really changed our view of the trip, also a beautiful husky farm visit and atv tour. Overall 4.5/10 I wish i could give it more, i just felt so defeated after the trip since food is really important to me, so is hospitality, and i didnt feel welcome. I like to feel like im wanted, to feel like im not trespassing by walking in a lounge, but that somewhat the feelings i could get here. Maybe its my fault, but maybe there's a tiny bit of effort that could be made aswell by this hotel to make me not feel those feelings. I wish all the best for the future of Sorrisniva.

I went to do a walkthrough of the Igloo Hotel there onsite. And I must say it was quite impressive! While my visit was in March after it had been open for awhile it was still in good shape. You could tell in certain areas, the ice and snow was no longer as fresh as when the structure was built, but that didn’t really take away from the beauty! The sculptures were nicely done, and the rooms were impressively staged. The blue drink served at the ice bar while small was quite tasty! I was glad I made the trek out to visit such an interesting attraction. If you visit Alta, Norway in the winter be sure to check out this hotel.

Nestled in the heart of pure arctic nature, Restaurant Utsu offers a unique dining experience with its glass-roofed tower. The restaurant is known for serving brilliant menus made from delicious local produce. It's recommended to visit between September and December for a greater chance to witness the Aurora during dinner. With its glass ceiling, it provides an ideal setting to possibly catch the northern lights while enjoying a glass of wine.
Dinner with 6, beautiful ambiance on the 2nd floor in the glass tipi (recommended!), great local food and wine pairing. Very friendly and professional service. Relatively normal fine-dining price
Maurits H — Google review
Nice low-key fine dining in the region. Service was very attentive and professional. The atmosphere was beautiful, in a glass dome overlooking the hills. We were also pleasantly surprised by the price; we had a 2-course lunch each including drinks, coffee and snacks, coming up to 100 eur total, which is a good price for the region. I do have to say that while the food was really lovely (roasted onion soup and deer stew), it didn't blow us away and wish there was the extra oomph of a fish or seafood course. It's still well worth the experience if you want to try an extra atmospheric meal during your holiday. Do note that the restaurant is not walking distance from Levi. A car or taxi is necessary to get there.

Warm cozy atmosphere Scandinavian fine dining with plenty of reindeer dishes! Make sure you reserve tables on the top floor with glass roof!

Excellent service - made the reservation in the same day and despite the short notice they were able to take into account my all dietary restrictions and we had an amazing three course surprise menu with excellent wines. Highly recommend this restaurant. Also the interior was very stylish, cozy and intimate.
Katri K — Google review
We’ve been here twice for dinner, very nice gourmet dining experience. We took 5 course menu, and all of it were exceptional except the dessert. Dessert was mediocre but nice presentation. It’s pricy, yes. And they don’t have big space, so it’s that tight with other guest/table. Good service, the waitress knew a lot about wine and advice the very good one. I also had a very good cocktail!
Estri H — Google review
I thought the food was great, however would agree portion is a tad on the smaller size but it filled us fine. Service was immaculate and the wait staff was very kind. We had some good conversations too. We had breakfast here too which was a self serve buffet style.
Vincent — Google review
The restaurant has a glass ceiling so this is a perfect place to catch possible northern lights with a glass of wine. Had the 5 course surprise menu. (Stop reading here if you don’t want to wreck the surprise). The pumpkin infused cold starter was perhaps not the best but interesting indeed. The onion soup was creamy and full of flavours. The smoky white fish with the ground artichoce was to die for. The lamb with the flavoured crust was something new but perhaps this time the dessert crowned the whole meal. This is the place to visit when staying nearby Levi for the beautiful experience, good service and to enjoy fine dining.
Amina — Google review
Honestly, working in Levi and everyone told me that Utsu was the best fine dining restaurant of the area… This is wrong spending more than 70€ for a fine dining was not worth to me. I had to fight to switch the desert option for the desert which is normally not the case for a fine dining restaurant. The starter to be honest was not good it was the pumpkin, it was not cooked enough. The main dish my friend took the artic char which was not tasty and me I had the reindeer which was good but with mash potatoes… wow such a refine food for a fine dining. And the desert… excuse me but the desert is not worth at all a fine dining restaurant too it was just a simple berry cake or a chocolate pudding nothing elaborate. I would suggest the chef to watch Top Chef France to get inspired or to go to some fine dining restaurant in France in order to give a real fine dining experience to his clients. The only good things is the glass igloo which is cool but why having all those light inside we can’t even have the chance to see auroras…

Lapland Hotels Saaga is an upscale establishment located in Yllas Lapland, offering a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. This hotel stands out due to its unique design and luxurious feel, making it one of the top choices in the area. With ski-in/ski-out access and a nearby ski resort boasting slopes for all skill levels, guests can enjoy stunning views of the snowy fells while indulging in winter sports.
I stayed here over Christmas with my wife and two children and tried skiing for the first time. Everything was great for us, friendly and helpful staff. Nice sized and clean apartment with our own sauna. Breakfast was good and the skiing was great. We will hopefully be back in the next few years
Tadhg D — Google review
Very good lunch buffet (considering we are in otherwise rural Lapland) and great value for money for eating in the slopes. Panorama windows offer a view of the fell. Staff is extremely friendly. There is vegan options for everything, including desert pancakes and sauces with the mains. They even offer some loose tea. Plenty of fresh fruit. Salad buffet. Only the mains could be a little less basic and more creative dishes instead of something like chicken fingers, Bolognese and vegan patties (at the time of writing this review)

Excellent Hotel/Resort located right at the bottom of the Yllas skiing slopes. The staff was very friendly, and our room was clean and tidy. The spas and pool were great to relax in after hitting the ski slopes, and the gym is one of the best gyms I've experienced in a hotel. The included breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious.
Jake B — Google review
One of the best hotels in Finland, in my opinion. It’s always a pleasure to come here. What really sets this place apart is the incredibly friendly staff — truly some of the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve ever encountered in any hotel. And this applies to every single employee we met. The hotel is spotless, whether it’s the room or any common area. Breakfast is excellent and the unique atmosphere of the breakfast room adds something special to the experience. The location is perfect, right next to hiking and mountain biking trails. The spa area is perfectly sized and cozy. Starting the day with a sauna and a morning swim is simply wonderful. There’s a calm and peaceful vibe throughout the hotel that we’ve always appreciated. If I had to point out something to improve, the restaurant menu could be more exciting — it’s fairly basic. Also, the electric car charging options are quite limited for today’s standards. Keep up the great work!

Just came back from a beautiful holiday staying in a two bedroom apartment which had a private sauna, it was AMAZING! We was located in a Nordic chalet which overlooked the main hotel and the ski slopes, the views was amazing.

We stayed over Christmas for a family holiday in Lapland. The rooms in the main hotel are great and the front-of-house staff are amazing and really helpful & friendly. Slight speed-bump on check in as we initially made a booking for a room upgrade fon one of the rooms... however, the upgraded room (to a 1 bed apartment) was in a different building 10 mins walk away, and we could not eat together as a family. This was rectified and we managed to get the second room in the main hotel building. The food and facities were good and all six of us really enjoyed the atmosphere. We are looking to book again for a skiing holiday in the future.
Adam L — Google review
Nice hotel, great breakfast and pool/spa, but in the chalets there are no light blocking curtains. This is a big problem if you're staying any time between about March and September! It is stupid too, because hanging up proper curtains is not a difficult or expensive thing to fix. Also if you are in the chalets it is a bit of a walk from your room to the ski runs - about five minutes or so across the parking lot.
Julie S — Google review
Lovely hotel , very spacious, several bars and restaurants and very large breakfast, lunch, dinner area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice, and the bathrooms were very nice. Drying cupboard in the bathroom to dry clothes, daily cleaning also. Unbelievable views from your windows! The pictures don't do it justice. You are literally on the bottom of the ski slopes, which is brilliant.

Snowhotel Kirkenes & Gamme Northern Lights Cabins is a unique and enchanting accommodation in the far north of Norway. The hotel features casual timber cabins, quirky rooms made out of ice, and an impressive main building adorned with intricate ice sculptures. Surrounded by the Arctic wilderness, it offers an unforgettable experience year-round. Guests can enjoy reindeer and huskies roaming the sprawling grounds, as well as king crab fishing at a nearby fjord.
What an amazing place and unique experience! I've heard about the Snowhotel before but nothing could prepare me for what a wonderful experience it actually is. Decided to visit Kirkenes after a trip to the North Cape. Little did I know that the Snowhotel would become the highlight of my entire trip. And the magical North Cape experience, the chill atmosphere in Tromsø, and picturesque Lofoten are truly hard to beat. Incredibly friendly and super helpful staff. Lots of nice guests in great spirits. The restaurant offers exquisite food. One gets to even experience reindeer 🦌 and huskies 🐺 kept on location. The cabin is beautiful and luxuriously equipped. And then there is the unique Snowhotel itself. Something that can't be easily described in words and truly needs to be experienced.
Tamer F — Google review
We had a memorable stay at Snowhotel Kirkenes! The surrounding scenery was absolutely stunning—snow-covered landscapes that felt straight out of a fairytale. One of the highlights of our trip was the King Crab Safari, which was both exciting and delicious. It was a truly unique experience and worth every moment. The cabin we stayed in was clean and cozy. While we appreciated the overall comfort, it would have been nice if the hotel had provided essentials like toothbrushes and toothpaste, especially given the premium rate. That said, we were incredibly lucky to spot the Northern Lights right at the hotel on our way back to the cabin after dinner — a magical and unexpected bonus that really made the trip unforgettable. Overall, it's a special destination that offers a once-in-a-lifetime Arctic experience, but a few small improvements in amenities would elevate the comfort level even more.

We did a 1-night stay at this beautiful hotel at the end of our north-bound cruise. A really magical and romantic place to enjoy the northern part of Norway. Tranquility and peace can really be felt at this location. If only we have more time to touch Russia border!
Sharon T — Google review
First of all, it was a fantastic little adventure to sleep here. I would recommend it to anyone! The draw back of the snow room was the curtain. It let a lot of noise of people walking about. Also interesting, that I can't see the in and out bound luggage signs in the night. I put mine in outbound as inbound was full. It should have a sign inside the area rather than on top in the dark. I needed to use a CPAP machine and there was no way in the rooms for that. I guess I assumed there would be some way. It made my night pretty hard. Be sure to ask for a breakfast for the morning if you leave before 8 so they have a snacky for you. If you can use the lounge up stairs do it! Very pretty and nice place to relax.

Very interesting facility (not just a hotel) and a must see when in Kirkenes. The original one was a true snow/ice hotel, melted down in summer and rebuilt again every winter. This new one is permanent with a protected cover and ac to keep it intact in summer, with still ice rooms but the main accommodation are modern bungalows. It is also a center for reindeers and huskies, and sightseeing.

Located in Akaslompolo, the Arctic Skylight Lodge offers lodging with a restaurant, bar, and shared lounge. Guests have the opportunity to admire breathtaking mountain views. Situated amidst nature's beauty, this serviced accommodation offers an unforgettable experience where guests can witness the enchanting spectacle of the northern lights while surrounded by the serene forest.
관광이 아닌 여행을 원하신다면 꼭 들려보세요. Truly an unspeakable experience. We visited in January 2025 to enjoy the Finnish winter, and this place provided an unforgettable time. We were lucky enough to see the aurora on our first night. Their spa facilities are excellent, and they even offer an ice bath experience in the river (we were too scared to try—lol). The cracking sounds in the forest were unlike anything we've experienced before. At first, it feels strange and intimate, but once you realize it's the sound of wood cracking due to the extreme cold, it becomes part of the unique natural experience. Coming from the U.S., we'd never heard anything like it. Interestingly, when we visited Saariselkä afterward, we didn’t hear that sound again—truly a one-of-a-kind memory. Overall, we had a great time. One small issue: we had heater problems twice during our 3-night stay. However, the maintenance team responded immediately and resolved the issue quickly. I believe this has likely been fully resolved by now. Oh, and their glögi? The best we had in all of Finland (we had glögi every day—lol). A truly wonderful experience.
Han J — Google review
My experience was far from what I expected, especially considering the price I paid (over $500 for one night). Upon checking into my lodge, there was a noticeable sewage odor throughout the room. At first, I assumed it might be temporary, so I went to enjoy the sauna (extra charge) and dinner. However, when I returned later that evening, the smell had worsened significantly, making the room nearly unbearable to stay in. I reported the issue to the front desk, but to my surprise, the only “solution” offered was water, which was both unacceptable and dismissive given the severity of the problem. I would have expected a more appropriate response, such as a room reassignment or at the very least, a genuine effort to address the situation. The next morning, the smell had intensified so much that I had to leave the room door open in -15 C just to tolerate being inside. The odor was so overpowering that I couldn’t even pack my luggage properly. Instead, I had to gather my clothes by hand and take them to the front desk because staying in the room for more than a few minutes was impossible. What disappoints me most is the lack of care or urgency from the staff in handling this issue. I have sent several emails and not heard back from the manager. This level of service does not align with the premium price I paid for the stay. A hotel at this price point should offer exceptional comfort and service, yet I experienced the exact opposite. I am writing this review because I believe others should be aware of the lack of basic room quality and service responsiveness at this property. THEY DON’T CARE about customer service. I hope the management addresses these issues moving forward, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here.
Drish V — Google review
We had a wonderful experience staying in Arctic Skylight Lodge. The cabin is lovely and comfortable, and the experience of sleeping under the glass roof is absolutely amazing. We loved the feeling of being surrounded by the forest while inside, and didn't even want to close the curtains. There is an option to entirely block the view from neighbours, but we wanted to keep it as open as possible. In the evening we just laid in the bed and looked at the starry sky on top of us, unfortunately no Northern Lights at that night, but we managed to see 2 falling stars! The cabin is not extremely spacious, but it is pleasant in size, not tiny. Nice furniture, comfy bed and quality bedlinen. Also extra credits to the restaurant, the food was amazing. Would definitely go again!

Airport
Rovaniemi Airport is a compact international and domestic airport located in the Arctic Circle, making it a unique travel destination. It is famously known as the official Home Airport of Santa Claus. The airport offers year-round flights from Helsinki by Finnair and Norwegian, with additional direct flights from London Gatwick by Easyjet and Turkish Airlines. While Norwegian Air provides direct flights from Gatwick to Rovaniemi, other Lapland airports may require at least one changeover for travelers.
It was very small, two tiny souvenir shops and a bar were open on Monday morning… I had to buy water… :(
Weszter — Google review
This airport is good. But. But not for such a huge amount of tourists. We were there at the beginning of March and it was fully crowded. The ground staff was nervous and not willing even answer a simple question. Rather not to ask them anything. There is one fast food restaurant and one store. So if you have a longer flight keep this in mind. That long snake of waiting people is just annoying. Thank you👍
Ales T — Google review
I'm so glad that this airport exists. Instead of traveling with an overnight train from Helsinki, you can fly for something more than 1 hour. At the same time, this airport is extremely touristic and full of people. Check-in is well organized, but count with long lines. I really appreciated check-in counters for luggage. I used this option, since I had already made check-in online. The waiting area behind security is also quite small and very much packed. But there are at least some restaurants to chill at. And there are also desks by the windows with a lot of electric sockets. Thumb up for that!
Jana K — Google review
Nice and small. Official Santa airport.
Jami K — Google review
Plenty of parking. Plenty of toilets. A few car hire places at the airport including green motion and Europe car hire. All have a simple key drop off. The security was easy to get through, as was check in. The facilities in departures arnt spectacular with just a basic shop and a cafe. There are however plenty of places to sit down, and watch the runway. For a small airport I think it runs pretty smoothly.
R J — Google review
Rovaniemi Airport is the 2nd busiest airport in Finland, after Helsinki. There are long queues at the airline check in counters (they should open the check in counter earlier , the checking in process is slow although we arrived 3 hours before the flight take-off but are not allowed to chech-in) and the processing at the security check point is also so slow and strict. They go through your bags etc. (although they asked before checking). Luckily the airline knew that there are still passengers stranded at security check and the transport to boarding waited until all the passengers cleared the security check. With the huge crowds, I hope the airport authority will review the checking in and security check to ensure a smooth and quicker process.
Sinny A — Google review
A nice, tiny airport, though food and drinks were quite expensive. You should take caution if you're heading to London—the passport control is at downstairs! I was not aware of it and very embarrassed just before boarding... :(
Totoro T — Google review
Just very disorganised with seemingly little staff. On arrival there were hardly any baggage trolleys for people to collect luggage with, lines for arrivals were very charities blocking up the whole airport and the cafe upstairs was filthy with tables covered in rubbish, overflowing bins and a sticky floor from multiple drink spillages. Looked like there was irregular cleaning scheduled as the bathrooms were also dirty with overflowing bins.

Kittilä International Airport serves as a gateway to Lapland, offering connections to various destinations in the region. While some flights may require layovers, direct options are available from select airports. Travelers can easily access their final destinations via bus or train, with convenient shuttle services to popular spots like Levi. Despite occasional delays due to weather conditions, the airport staff and crew are commended for their efforts. However, there have been suggestions for improved customer assistance and baggage handling.

Nice staff and it is a tiny intercontinental airport. Nowhere to buy Prepaid SIM cards which terrified international travelers like us. The Bus transportation was a mystery which there's no timetable and nowhere to check for it. Thank you for the ground staff lady which helped us to check for the bus departure timetable... And our advice was, get on the bus once you arrived the airport or you need to wait for 2 hours for the next bus!! ( At the end, we took taxi, and the driver was sweet!!)

A magical place where kids get to meet Santa 🎅. We took a Tui day trip to lapland the home of Christmas. We had an amazing time with an array of activities for the whole family to join in with. Huskies, reindeer, ski-doo, sledge rides are a few of the activities on offer. The whole experience was well run by the local elves/reps, as soon as we got off the airplane we were greeted by elves who took us straight to get our thermal suits and boots. From there we had a 30 mins coach ride to the resort. To greet us we had a large complex of ice igloo rooms that would make up the ice hotel and bar. Having a drink in the Ice bar is a must! The kids had an amazing time meeting the REAL Santa!!!! After a long day of fun we headed back to the airport for our flight to the UK.

Ivalo Airport, located in Lapland, offers a pleasant and efficient travel experience with most amenities that travelers require. Despite being small, the airport is warm and beautifully decorated, providing plenty of gift options and cafes in both waiting and boarding areas. However, it lacks a variety of souvenir and retail options. The staff are known for their friendliness, making it a comfortable stop for visitors to the region.
Quite small but have more food options at the boarding gate area. Major flight is Finnair. Almost all flights are delayed 1-2 hours. Not sure if this is norm or due to winter. So please expect a delay on your arrival destination. Plan wisely for connecting flights.
Sarasaa — Google review
Small airport, easy to navigate and providing basic amenities. Prices on the higher end, but adequate given the remote location and overall Finnish prices. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating - they handled a cancelled flight with great care. Bus connection to Saariselkä is reliable and easy to find.

Small, very clean and well managed airport

A pretty small, yet efficient and cozy airport. Smooth and quick check-in process. There’s a handful of shops selling snacks and souvenirs, but otherwise, there really is not much to do once you are inside the airport. Perfect destination to fly to if you want to explore the north of Lapland. You can reach popular destinations (Inari, Saariselkä, etc.) quickly from this airport.
Nahshon — Google review
Fantastic airport, visited Lapland twice now and we will be back again for many more years to come. Staff are really friendly. Only a small airport as it’s very far north in Finland so only busy during the winter season.

Great little airport! Good facilities and local reindeer to greet you on your arrival! Don’t come to early for your flight as it’s not open all day! Not in summer anyway!

Northern Lights Village Levi in Sirkka offers a unique experience with glass-roofed Aurora Cabins, allowing guests to view the Northern Lights from the comfort of their beds. The village also provides various activities such as Husky and Reindeer experiences, snowmobile rides, and a legendary Search for Santa program. The accommodations include a garden, terrace, and bar with a 24-hour front desk service. Guests can enjoy warm and stylish aurora cabins while indulging in delicious food options.
We booked the Sky View Cabin Double for two couples. Although the cabin is not very large, it was well-equipped with a private sauna and hot tub, which made the stay very enjoyable. One of the rooms even had an extra bed, adding to the convenience. We were fortunate to witness the Aurora on our first night and snowfall on the second — truly a magical experience. The breakfast selection was good, offering both hot and cold options, and we even spotted three reindeer while dining, which made the morning extra special. I would like to extend my compliments to Mr. Jori at the front desk for his excellent and professional service. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

To preface, this is a beautiful property with very cool cabins and features such as in room sauna and obviously the panoramic glass window. We really enjoyed the physical aspects of the property given its beautiful location, including the private igloo sauna and hot tub which is bookable with the hotel for time slots. We also had a wonderful time during our heated sleigh ride with guides Taylor and Tor, showing us the elusive northern lights in the dark remote parts of the forest. It was a beautiful experience and I highly recommend it. Make sure to bring your warmest gear since it can get extremely cold. Unfortunately the restaurant lobby/bar experience was extremely off putting given the huge number of children at the hotel. Breakfast/dinner and almost every time we went to the lobby it was chaos with children running around unsupervised, surrounding the buffet serving tables and touching food. Thankfully a portion of the lobby was labeled as adult only seating which was a reprieve from the chaos of the general seating area, but this was weakly enforced with families sitting in this area on occasion. This is not the direct fault of the hotel but our plans to relax by the fireplace and have a nice evening dinner followed by a few drinks each evening was squandered given the children running around and tables full of plates getting tipped and crashing every so often. We ended up eating quickly and going back to the cabin. We were here in mid December so maybe it was bad timing. I would definitely suggest the hotel build another restaurant lodge given the number of guests when the rooms are fully booked and how crowded the lobby lodge was during the day.

We didn't stay, only did the husky ride, (so no idea about rooms, but given 5 stars as not applicable is not available!). Husky ride was awesome, the huskies looked super-happy, super-energetic, super-enthusiastic and raring to go. Was great fun being completely off the brake letting them run at full tilt, free to excitedly pull as hard as they like. We also got to pet and fuss over our dogs after the ride. Love to take them home with us and will definitely do it again!

We stayed only for two nights while driving around Lapland, and I just couldn't get enough! Even though we had all cloudy days and nights, thanks to their Aurora app, we could see auroras for a few minutes on the first night. I still can't believe it! If it wasn't for the app, we wouldn't have been able to see them. They also have a Guest app which is super cool: with it you can open your cabin's door, chat with reception, check details of your room, and check for activities. I never had this service in a hotel before and it's definitely very worthy!!! They also offer winter overalls and boots for the stay. We only booked onsite the snowmobile tour, and it was SO MUCH fun! Our guide was very fun and sweet, which made the experience even better. Overall, everyone is very helpful and nice around here. We can't wait to be back!

Tucked deep in the snowy expanse of Finnish Lapland, Northern Lights Village Levi offers a surreal blend of comfort and natural wonder. The glass-roofed Aurora Cabins are thoughtfully positioned to give uninterrupted views of the night sky, making it possible to witness the Northern Lights from the warmth of a cozy bed. The atmosphere is serene, with soft Arctic silence broken only by the crackle of fireplaces or the crunch of snow underfoot. The location feels secluded yet accessible, surrounded by untouched wilderness and a magical quality that seems straight out of a dream. The experience combines raw Arctic beauty with thoughtful hospitality, where every detail—from the glow of the cabins to the warmth of the Lappish cuisine—feels designed to immerse guests in a truly otherworldly escape.

I booked the Nordic family adventure which was for 5 nights. We enjoyed all of the activities and they kept us busy! Worth the value and I would highly recommend it. However, it was unfortunate that our family photo with Santa taken by one of the elves turned out horrendous and we did not have any other photo. We should have checked :( We also didn't manage to catch northern light from our cabin so it's a little disappointing.

Situated at a height of 340 meters on top of the fell, it provides one of the best locations in Finland to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights. The hotel is known for its excellent customer service and friendly staff who speak perfect English. Guests can enjoy cozy and spacious rooms with stunning views.
The comfortable glass house was a surprise to me. You can lie on the bed and enjoy the changing northern lights in the night sky. It is really great and beautiful. The design of the house is very warm, and a hardcover chocolate gift box is provided for guests.

Golden Crown Levin Iglut is an absolute dream! We stayed in the glass igloos for one night, and it was a magical experience from start to finish. The igloos are cozy, well-designed, and offer an incredible view of the Northern Lights right from your bed. Watching the aurora dance across the sky while being tucked in a warm, glass bubble was an experience I’ll never forget. The service was excellent, and the location feels like a winter wonderland—secluded, peaceful, and perfect for stargazing. The heated glass ensured clear views despite the cold temperatures outside, and the amenities were just what we needed for a comfortable stay. If you’re looking for a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience in the Arctic, I can’t recommend Golden Crown Levin Iglut enough! Definitely a bucket list item checked off in style. 🌌

Very elegant place to stay. The nature surrounding this place is phenomenal. The igloo itself is simple and comfortable. Not much more to add. This place is self service though so don’t expect anyone to help with luggage. The restaurant is nice and comfort. Wait staff was very tentative there and the food was great!

What a fantastic experience! The igloos are warm, clean, and comfortable. The staff, headed by Karolina and Reeta, are so helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. We spent here 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Will return!
Danny B — Google review
Excellent customer service. The front desk attendants are very friendly, speak perfect English, and were very helpful and welcoming. Theres a place to leave your luggage if you arrive early. Plenty of spots to charge EV vehicles. We did the superior igloo the first night, then a premium with the unobstructed view the second night. The premium was well worth the price, as was the whole experience here. The rooms are super cozy and spacious for what they are. Heated windows to get clear views of the night sky and aurorasif you're lucky. Delicious breakfast buffet by the fireplace with local fare included in the room price. Coffee and small kitchens in the igloos make it easy to prepare your own meals. We took dinner in the restaurant both nights and enjoyed every bite. Smaller servings, but delicious and great to try local cuisine. We didn't do the spa/sauna or buy sausages to roast over the fire, but those are both options here. I guess we'll just have to come back for another visit! ⠀
Prakash B — Google review
Amazing experience unfortunately too cloudy to see the Northern lights We did an overnight stay as part of our package so meals included Lovely meal in the restaurant and breakfast was lovely too. Drinks are expensive but we had a nice cocktail that was different, so it was worth the extra cost. There was not a lot to do apart from walk , so one night was sufficient to experience this
Karen H — Google review
Lovely experience but an incredibly expensive one. The igloo itself was very comfortable, had all the facilities you would expect and the views were stunning. We stayed for 1 night but as with most hotels, couldn't check in until 3.30 pm. and had to be out by 11 am the next day. This really didn't give us any time to appreciate the igloo or any other facilities. Such a shame. It's not worth staying one night as you really don't get enough time to enjoy it.

Hotel K5 Levi is a modern chalet-style hotel with a cozy atmosphere, featuring two restaurants and a lobby bar/lounge, as well as a gym for guests to enjoy. Bistro K5 Levi offers an exceptional dining experience with its floor-to-ceiling windows perfect for viewing the Northern Lights while savoring traditional Laplandic and international dishes from the à la carte menu.
We had a great time in Levi. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the centre and is right next to the frozen lake which is the ideal spot for seeing the Northern lights. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was great but might be slightly limited for kids, unless they like fish or chicken nuggets and chips (basically all kids!!). The room was lovely with our own sauna and a drying cabinet, which is much needed if you've been on the slopes or out in the snow all day!

We came to feed the reindeers, but we seen the amazing deal to have some lunch (ending at 14:00). We were very late already (13:50) but the staff spoke to eachother, and told us we could go for lunch! The taste was lovely and the buffet choice was plenty. Finishing with the view on the reindeers it was an amazing experience. After the lunch, we fed the reindeers with lichen (€8 at the hotel reception). Thank you so much !

I have never felt better in another hotel, K5 is wonderful and the people are so nice. I come from a country where people are not very kind, but in the end I really thanked them for their smiles and kindness. The rooms are big, I had a view of reindeer from the room, reindeer that I fed, reindeer food can be purchased right at the hotel. The food was good, but I was not used to Finnish food, but for those from the area it must be delicious. The hotel is located very very close to everything you need, slopes, shops, restaurants. I can't wait to come back next season.

Very much disappointed about the 60€ fine for parking. We have been guests at the restaurant Saamen Kammi on the property of the hotel. After returning to the car we found the fine at the car window. The reception manager indicated that several signs for registering the car number plate are available. But sorry, the first sign once entering the parking is turned in the opposite direction for the driver’s eyes (thus not visible). There is no sign / information at the parking slots which would make sense like many other parking spaces have it. The information at the entrance door is small and once your are in a talk with someone, you miss it easily. The last sign is at the reception desk is visible for hotel guests at the checkin counter, but not for restaurant guests. Most disappointing was, that we have been at least for 5 min talking alone with the receptionist and he didn’t mention anything or asking if we have a car we would like to register. That feels very much like a rip-off and money-making. For a parking space which is very much dedicated to the hotel /restaurant at that time with no threat that it will be illegally used by others due to the relatively isolated location of the hotel and especially at that time (since ski slopes were already closed). We would have expected better information right at the parking slots and a better communication with hotel personnel since you anyway have to wait at the reception to get guided to the restaurant.
Torsten M — Google review
Very dissapointed for the 60€ fine after having dinner at Saamen Kammi. Solid money making scam, there is small sing at the door or for the hotel guest at the counter but customers who come for the restaurant won't see these. Ridiculous that the person who takes the restaurant customers in and shows the area where to wait won't bother asking will you need parking permit. Get your customer service right, with the price you pay this is ridiculous!!! This fully ruined the nice restaurant experience!
Rain J — Google review
Went for dinner at Saamen Kammi which was beautiful restaurant, but the hotel stuff fully skipped the part to tell the guest that the parking will cause you 60€ fine if you don't notice the small A4 paper on the window which was with many other adds. Very disappointed to spend 200€ for dinner and finish the experience with fine... not happy.

Seaside Glass Villas offer a unique and unforgettable stay with minimalist bungalows featuring panoramic sea views. These glass villas are not just ordinary cabins, as they boast two huge glass windows and a glass roof, providing guests with an immersive experience in the surrounding nature. Located on the shore of Bay of Bothnia, these villas are ideal for witnessing the Northern Lights. Some villas even offer stunning sea views.
This is what true luxury looks like. Amazing, breathtaking views. Glazed windows that can be covered. A glass roof and you can watch the sky. The cottages are very warm, comfortable beds, heated floor in the bathroom. Kitchenette, sterile clean. Beautiful, minimalist decor. Cottages flawless. No wonder the hotel is titled as luxury. Plus delicious breakfasts - not at all overdone - but there is nutella and pancakes, but also scrambled eggs and bacon. Christmas songs are flying from the speakers. The price includes the opportunity to see the wonderful ice castle. Friendly staff. One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had, and I know a lot of four- and five-star hotels. This one is unique. Magical. Come. I really highly recommend!!!!!

The staff leaves premises after 8pm. Nobody is onsite...they give Security Number...when called nobody answered. So guests cannot get any kind of help in night if needed. We stayed in Luxury Sea Side villa No 25. In non-occupied villa No 24 lights were ON the whole night...so when Northern lights appeared in sky we could not see them properly due to light being reflected back from the snow(see attached photos). It was very annoying that the whole purpose to see Northern Lights was defeated by staff keeping lights ON in a vacant villa. When we called Security at the number given there was no response. It was very frustrating, disappointing experience even after paying more than $600/night. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS PROPERTY. Next day morning when we complained at reception, all they had to say was "Sorry". Visitors from other countries don't visit Finland quite often and after so much research and planning when they finally plan a vacation Sea Side Glass Villas staff knows exactly how it can be ruined. Before leaving the premises at 8pm why can't they walk the property to make sure everything is okay.

What a gorgeous place! Location right at the sea front, surrounded by beautiful nature only. The tiny houses were well equipped and the bed was super comfortable! Best part, of course, was being able to see the Northern Lights - the location is just perfect and we had a night to remember!

They do not want repeat business. We booked a villa loft and the refrigerator did not work. So the reception offered us the choice of another villa loft and another one story villa, without telling us the one story villa did not have a sauna and it’s a downgrade. We chose the one story villa and have not been able to get any refund. They offered 50 euros for the fridge but denied the room difference since it’s "our choice". Every request has to be sent by email. The reception staff, while nice, could not do anything. Breakfast was gross. Dinner was okay. We discovered Wolt delivery (like Uber Eats) and that’s what we did. You get more options and it’s delivered to your cabin. That is such a shame for this property. I really want to like it and because of the refund situation, it put a damper on the experience. Needless to say, we will never go back. To the management of this property, you can reply and say contact you by email and I have done so many times. The right thing is to issue me the refund. You already have my bank information.

Jesper T — Google review
The hotel is ok and the rooms are good with a great view over the water. However the breakfast is of poor quality. Everything is industrial and you better run to have something or wait. They took my plate out even though I had food left and just stood up to get a coffee. Staff is nice. Hotel overpriced and not worthy. Yes the view is stunning but you can have a better experience in another resort or hotel. Plus de the snow experience is nothing exceptional.
Alexandre C — Google review
We got the villa in the second line, of course it was a really nice experience sleeping with these very isolated big windows, however, it was a bit small, no TV, the hot water was available up to 15 mins and no more and the worst was that we couldn’t turn the toilet light off. It was based on presence sensor and it had a very long timer to turn the light off. We loved the villa and the experience but there were some flaws thinking about the very high price paid.

Northern Lights Village Pyhä offers an unforgettable Arctic experience in Rovaniemi, Finland. The excursions are amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly, ensuring a great time for visitors. The package includes all necessary gear to stay warm and make the most of the stay. Additionally, there are optional extra activities like snowmobiling available at reasonable prices. The cozy cabins provide a magical experience with glass-domed ceilings offering views of the sky and snow-covered trees.
My adult daughter and I just returned from a 4 day trip to this hotel. We absolutely loved it. We were lucky because the weather was stunning and varied- we had snow but had 2 beautiful sunny days. The glass igloos were gorgeous, just like the pictures! We were picked up by a helpful bus driver and taken to reception. We paid the full amount which included having the bags delivered and collected to your room, so you don’t have to sled it yourselves. They do warn you that you have 15 minutes of hot water, and then you need to give the geyser 30 minutes to recover. The water does not get hotter than 38 degrees, which is fine although we like scalding hot showers :-) We both found the food good- varied choice and always fresh and hot! There was sometimes a queue with some bigger groups, but meals are served over 4-5 hours so you have time! Marco always served us drinks and was very helpful and friendly. We did husky sledding, a northern nights hunting trip, the reindeer express( I can’t remember the gentleman’s name but he was a local Finnish man and great with the reindeer!) we also did the sauna and jacuzzi which was magical! You book for an hour, but I suggest booking for 2 if you really want to languish and relax. It is an expensive holiday, but having travelled extensively, we thought it was worth it for the amazing experiences. We will recommend it and will be back!

Nice hotel, great views of course! Lovely styling, plenty of space. The bathroom was great (watch your head! As it's on an angle). Shame that as soon as we walked in, we noticed a single random piece of candy sitting on the window sill... Made me wonder how clean the room was unfortunately. There was a big black mark from the top to bottom one of the main windows looking outside. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Great buffet selection with plenty to choose from.
RaRa — Google review
We paid just over €3,000 for 3 nights. Dinner was cold on all days. Information regarding bookings and other details was missing. We had to carry our suitcases through the snow to the igloo ourselves, which is frankly ridiculous given the price. The photos were supposedly included, which is why I left my camera in the room, but now we are being asked to pay for them. We booked the Couple Package. On the first day, there were no activities, and on the last day, over 10 hours of activities were crammed into a single day, even though the website specifically advertises time for intimacy between activities. For both the sauna and the hot tub, you only get an hour. Within that time, you need to walk there, get changed, shower, heat up the sauna, and uncover the hot tub yourself. Half of the time is already gone by then. If you go over the time limit, you’re fined €100. The resort looks beautiful on social media, but the reality does not match the image. To be fair, we want to mention that our guides were always very friendly and were the only positive aspect of the resort.
Lorena I — Google review
My friend and I visited the place just specifically for the sauna experience. Despite promoting the sauna here as a traditional one and having wood-heated sauna picture on the website and email, the sauna at the hotel is a regular one, or at least not a wood-heated one. We were solving this at the cash desk. The manager of the placed apologized and said that he'll take a look at information available on the website, as there had been different expectations on our side. Since the sauna was already booked and paid, we went for it. The sauna at this hotel is really new and beautiful. With everything that it offers, I felt like being in a 5 star hotel. There is also jacuzzi that belongs to the sauna experience, if you are interested in that. What I didn't like a bit is that time spent in bathroom, e.g. taking shower and drying hair after sauna, is included in reservation time. If you are a woman, or at least have long hair, it might take some time to dry your hair, etc. I wasn't managing time-wise and ended up leaving with wet hair. 1 hour felt very short for both sauna and my hair care routine. All in all, I would say that the sauna is worth the price if you know what you are going into, and you want exactly that.

We booked the 3D2N activity package at Northern Lights Village Pyhä, and from the very beginning, their customer service was outstanding. Even before our trip, they proactively reached out to confirm our flight details and airport pickup, responding promptly to all our queries and ensuring that everything was well-arranged before we even booked the place. Finally, it was time to go to Finland—our first time in the country, and we were beyond excited to experience the resort. However, things took a downturn when our flight was severely delayed. We were originally supposed to arrive by 2 PM, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we only made it to Rovaniemi Airport at 1 AM and finally reached the resort at 3 AM the following day. Throughout this entire ordeal, the team at Northern Lights Village Pyhä was extremely supportive. Despite the late-night arrival, they actively communicated with us and even arranged an airport pickup at 1 AM, ensuring that we could get to the resort safely. Talk about top-notch customer service! To make things worse, our luggage was delayed along with our flight. This meant that all our winter clothing, extra clothes, toothbrushes, and sanitary items were not with us. Yet, the hospitality of the team truly shone through. When we arrived at the airport, Marcos and another staff member greeted us warmly and even provided drinks and biscuits for the journey back. Upon reaching the resort at 3 AM, Mariana was waiting for us at the reception to assist with check-in smoothly. They saved us some dinner from the meal we missed—such a thoughtful gesture that truly touched our hearts. Mariana went above and beyond, providing us with bathrobes, toothbrushes, and even offering her own toothpaste in case it wasn’t included in the set. She carefully explained everything about our stay and kept reassuring us to reach out if we needed anything. We truly cannot thank the team enough for their kindness and hospitality during such a stressful experience. Even though we had to wear the same clothes throughout due to the luggage delay, our stay at Northern Lights Village Pyhä was nothing short of magical. We had a fun husky ride experience, enjoyed a beautiful reindeer sleigh ride, got to play in the snow together, dined in a cozy, warm restaurant, tried skiing for the first time, lay in the snow under the Arctic sky, and best of all—our accommodation was absolutely wonderful! We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible staff: 🌟 Mariana – for taking care of us during check-in and showing such genuine care and concern. 🌟 Marcos – for driving us all the way from the airport at 1 AM and continuing to check in on us throughout our stay. 🌟 The staff member who assisted Marcos that night – for ensuring everything went smoothly. If you’re planning a trip to Finland, this is THE place to go. The combination of stunning Arctic scenery, well-planned activities, cozy accommodations, and an unbelievably kind and professional team makes Northern Lights Village Pyhä an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this resort and will forever be grateful to the team for making our trip so special despite the challenges. 💙✨

Our cabin was stunning and we did see northern lights from our bed which was magic. Most of the activities are well run and enjoyable. We had an amazing time having a private dinner and northern lights hunting with Guide Dan. We loved the cross country skiing. The reindeer farm experience was so fun and interesting. The snowshoeing experience was very underwhelming and our guide seemed to get lost even though we were within walking distance of the hotel. The buffet food included wasn’t very good I’d rate it a 4/10. Overall the price of the hotel is too expensive for what it is offering. For the price I expected a luxury experience but it felt a bit like an organised glamping experience. An example of this is when we arrived we expected a welcome drink and to be welcomed but instead our transfer dropped us outside reception, told us to stand in line to wait to be checked in and then reception pointed us in the direction of our room and didn’t help us with the bags. The big buses of tourists arriving made it feel like a low cost camping experience. The food was uninspiring and the reception team overall seemed inexperienced and don’t understand the basics of customer service. The only helpful reception staff member that was was Barbra. The standout part of this hotel are the rooms are beautiful and some of the experiences are magic. Improvement required to achieve a higher score: - Lower the price to match the experience being offered - genuinely I would recommend it should be a third of the cost. - Have a more helpful and trained team of reception staff - Improve the buffet food! - Snow shoeing experience should be much cheaper - Would be nice to have more local people/Finnish people working in the hotel to make it feel more authentic Personally I would not recommend this hotel and I would try and find a similar experience with a different company.

If you want an awesome Arctic experience, I highly recommend Northern Lights. The excursions are amazing and the staff is beyond friendly and go the extra mile to ensure you are having a great time. All of the gear you need to stay warm and get the most out of your stay is included, but some of the excursions may cost extra, such as snowmobiling, but even then are reasonable from a cost perspective. The room we had had a sauna and an amazing shower. The food was good, but not the star of the show. That award goes to the staff! Thanks for the great time!

We had a wonderful stay at Northern Lights Village. We stayed in an Aurora cabin which was quite nice and warm. We loved the fireplace, comfortable bed and having a dresser to unpack during our stay. The WiFi worked well for when we went back to the room for some downtime. It was very quiet during our stay which we appreciated. We ate healthy during our stay because we mostly had salads and bread. Honestly though, the produce was really fresh and delicious and I am not complaining about it. A lot of the main entrees were not to our tastes since one of us is vegetarian and the other only will eat chicken as a protein. We went to dinner around 5pm and it was not very crowded until much later. We enjoyed all the activities we did for our first time as part of the package we booked and add-ons — snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, traditional sauna, etc. A special shoutout to the guide we had for the snowmobiling (sorry, I can’t recall his name, but he was from the Netherlands). Unfortunately, I got motion sickness from being a passenger on the snowmobile because the trail was very bumpy. He gave me options on how to proceed — try driving and/or take another route. After driving for a bit, I was fine. However, the father of the Belgium family we were with was quite rude to me because of it. What if it was one of his family members who got sick? The guide handled it well and I appreciated his kindness and support. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not see the northern lights because it snowed most of our stay. I was happy to see the snow as an alternative. The outdoor gear they provide is very warm although the boots are quite heavy. The resort is beautiful and we had such a great time. We met some very nice people and highly recommend it. Definitely buy a package and do all the activities, you will have the best time! I read one of the other reviews and agree that a souvenir shop and a place to buy drinks or snacks would be a good addition.

Lodge
Staying at Ollero Eco Lodge provides a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of undisturbed night skies in Rovaniemi. This holiday home offers a well-equipped kitchen and three bedrooms, along with its very own glass igloo on the premises. The igloo is perfect for witnessing the enchanting Northern Lights. The lodge itself is comfortable and has a delightful aroma, possibly from the birch trees surrounding it.
It was a lovely experience that was 100% worth it as it was so fun to stay in. There was a lot to do around including a super fun tobogganing slide. The igloo was very cozy with a nice view. Anni (one of the host) was very friendly and even went out of her way to bring us to go buy groceries from the shop. She was very polite and showed us around the lovely place. She also shared with us a bit about Finnish culture. If you are wanting to see the northern lights this is definitely the place to go as when we went there we got to see it on both of the nights that we were there. Such a nice place with such nice people, so worth it! Thank you!

I stayed in this beautiful, cozy cottage in Rovaniemi last December. It felt so warm and peaceful. I slept in the glass igloo outside and was lucky to sleep under the Northern Lights. It was magical. The hot jacuzzi in the snow was honestly one of the best experiences ever and the traditional glass sauna, with the view of the snow<3. The host was so kind, she showed us around and explained everything.

Had an amazing stay earlier this month in Ollero. The accommodation was so authentic and it was a pleasure spending time there with our group. Hosts were very helpful and available whenever we had a questions. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here. We were welcomed warmly by the owners and they were so kind to us. The accomodation is fantastic and private in the middle of the forest on a lake (frozen when we were there). They organised many things for us including activities, sauna, Christmas presents etc. We’d love to be back!

We rented the lodge and igloo for myself and my mom in late Sept. The setting is beautiful and even though we were unlucky to have overcast skies during our three days there we still loved our experience. The lodge is comfortable as is the igloo. The smell of the lodge was amazing, from the birch maybe? The Lappi teepee was cool to have a fire and grill some sausages. 100% recommend.

Booked for 4 nights to bring together family and friends from New Zealand, Finland & Scotland. After driving down a small track, the driveway opens up to a large yard overlooking Ollerolampi (pond), Ounasjoki (river) and the hills beyond. The best thing, is that it is all for you. The main house/lodge is very homely and welcoming with traditional decorations, but modern comforts such as a full size dishwasher and (Finnish) coffee machine, and TV (which we didn't need to watch during our stay). It is a nice central hub for family meals and spending time together. The modern double showers and bathroom are in the same building. Next to the main lodge is the sleeping cabin (aitta) that has a separate bedroom with a bunk bed (wider than a normal single) and a mezzanine (parvi) with a double bed. It had a well functioning composting toilet. Between the main lodge and the sleeping cabin is a teepee (kota), which was an excellent place to spend time and cook together - we were nice and comfortable despite the cold and rain outside. It provided a truly Lappish experience to our visitors from abroad. The glass igloo was very comfortable and warm, and perfect for a couple. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the northern lights due to the rainy weather, but the views were nonetheless spectacular with the autumn colours reflected in the water. It even had its own wee toilet and Wi-Fi signal. It was also very private from the main lodge and rest of the compound. It apparently gets floated in water in summer which would be amazing, but the water level was too low during our stay. And after my mum fell in the 10c water while paddle boarding, it was maybe a good thing we could access our bedroom from dry land :). We had fun with the rowing boat, paddle boards and the canoe though. Unfortunately despite our 4 night stay, we did not have the time to heat up the sauna and jacuzzi, but that is definitely on the cards for the next stay. All the recycling and environmental aspects are well thought of and easy to use, and no hassle at all. There is plenty of parking space, and having your own transport is advisable - it is only a short drive to the city or e.g. Santa Claus village. Communication with the hosts was excellent, not that we were missing anything during our stay. This is a hidden gem just outside of Rovaniemi town that will guarantee you a relaxed and comfortable stay - without neighbours in sight.

Hotel
Experience the enchanting Aurora Pyramid Glass Igloos in Kittila, offering 11 guestrooms with glass ceilings and windows for stunning 360-degree views of the Northern Lights. The hotel provides amenities such as bicycle rentals, a cozy lobby fireplace, and a complimentary buffet breakfast. The unique elf-themed service at the reception adds to the magical atmosphere. Guests can expect a delightful stay surrounded by clean and beautifully decorated spaces, making it an ideal destination for an unforgettable holiday experience.
The idea behind Aurora Pyramid Glass Igloos at Elves Village is to bring a little magic to Earth, and honestly, they nailed it! From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful. The restaurant was warm and inviting, and the sauna, ice plunge, and jacuzzi were huge and felt luxurious, especially with the snow outside. We also joined the elves workshop, where we baked piparkakku in Christmassy shapes, even just the smell of the place was magical. The staff, dressed as elves, were fully in character, which made the experience so much fun. Our “assigned elf” told us she was 190 years old and gave us a tour of Santa’s house and gift-making room. The food was amazing too. The breakfast and soup lunch were great, and for dinner, the team prepared special vegan meals both nights (especially loved the vegan burger and mushroom croquettes!) And I haven’t even said anything about the actual igloos yet! We stayed in a glass igloo with a clean design, cozy vibe, and everything we needed, sleeping under the stars. We were even welcomed with a personal note and small gifts, explaining the heart behind the place. This place is more than just a stay, it’s a whimsical experience and we’d come back in a heartbeat!

First of all, sleeping under a glass Pyramid is special and the area is nice! But it is not worth the price and it is not a „luxury“ place as advertised. Beds are very comfortable but separate so not ideal for a couple. The AC / Heater unit has as lowest temperature of 21,5 degree Celsius (too warm for my taste) and is very noisy the whole night. Glass windows were not cleaned from snow and there was no sleeping mask as advertised. Outdoor lights stay on the whole evening and reflected off our pyramid which disrupted the beautiful sky and star view. Breakfast is only from 9 to 10 what is quite short and late considering you don’t have any blinds and will be awake around sunrise. Food was really good. Our toilet was not working properly so we needed to fix this. That leads us to a big downside. You don’t have a reception at the place. So you need to try find the very nice restaurant lady or call the reception that is based 10 km away in Levi. If you don’t have a car, you will need to spend 60€ on taxi transport as that is the only alternative. So, all in all, not worth the money.

You pay a lot for a glass roof cottage but they have strong lights all around it so the only thing you will see in the glass roof are lights on the trees from the road, no stars or aurora ….. (see pictures). I sent them an email but very poor customer service !
Sebastien G — Google review
Based on my experience with the Aurora Pyramid Glass Igloos, I would caution any guest considering this hotel to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn that the Aurora alert system was not functioning, as viewing the Northern Lights was the main reason for my stay. However, the bigger concern arose with the condition of the rooms themselves. In Igloo #10, we encountered a plumbing issue where water from the bathroom sink flooded the floor, making the sink unusable and the entire bathroom floor wet after just washing my hands. While I was grateful that the staff quickly offered to move us to Igloo #11, the prospect of moving all of our luggage on our own, in the dark and over icy ground, was both dangerous and uncomfortable, especially with no assistance available. When we arrived at Igloo #11, we then found that the water wasn’t running at all. Meaning, Igloo #11 had no available water and your staff informed us that there was no one available to fix it. This left us with the difficult decision of choosing between a room with no water or a room where the bathroom sink couldn’t be used due to flooding and a wet floor. We reluctantly decided to stay in Igloo #10. I fully understand that unforeseen issues can happen, but the lack of a basic amenity like running water was particularly disappointing. This impacted our overall experience, as we expected a much higher standard given the reputation and cost of your property. What’s more disappointing is how management handled the situation after the fact. When I reached out to provide feedback and request a partial refund, I was informed that they could not refund the money, claiming that the water delay was due to a sustainable technology that requires 20 minutes to activate. At no point during my stay did anyone from the staff seem to be aware this system or make any mention of it, and in fact, they told me there was an issue with the water and a plumber had been called. Even if this feature had been the case, no effort was made to contact us during our stay to clarify the situation of this temporary delay in running water. Instead of taking responsibility for the lack of communication and the impact this had on our stay, management shifted the blame onto me for not being aware of this supposedly necessary delay. The way my concerns were dismissed shows a lack of accountability and consideration for guests’ experiences. Overall, this stay was incredibly disappointing, and the management’s handling of my feedback only made the situation worse. I would not recommend staying at the Aurora Pyramid Glass Igloos, especially given the premium pricing and poor customer service. TL;DR: My stay at the Aurora Pyramid Glass Igloos was extremely disappointing. We faced issues with a flooded bathroom, no running water in the replacement igloo, and had to move our luggage in unsafe conditions. Management refused a partial refund and dismissed my concerns, blaming the water issue on a delayed system without informing us during the stay. Poor service and high prices make this hotel a place to avoid.

(Translated by Google) When we read the reviews before our trip, we were a little skeptical. However, when we got on the bus (elves village shuttle) in Levi, we were warmly welcomed. We were unloaded directly in front of our pyramid and the suitcases were carried into the room by the kind chauffeur. The room is very clean and ideally equipped. There is enough space for two people, even if you still have ski equipment with you. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price. Should be spelled out more clearly! We found the food very good and varied. We were able to marvel at the northern lights from our bed. It was very special and magical. We would like to say a lot of praise and thanks to the shuttle bus chauffeur because he was very open and helpful to us. He also showed us a beautiful route to a hidden observation tower. We highly recommend the accommodation.

(Translated by Google) A great scam. 1600 euros for 2 nights in a room with a bathroom worthy of a Formula 1 hotel. Mini bar completely empty, not a bottle of water or a coke. Cleaning is done every three days ‘for ecological reasons’ 🤡 When you arrive, the hotel reception is nowhere to be found, it is hidden in the middle of an infamous restaurant which is a 15 minute walk from the rooms (handy when it is -20 degrees) and which only serves the morning and evening, (dinner from 5 to 7 p.m.), including New Year's Eve when there was absolutely no entertainment. On the menu of this sordid place where we regularly come across local pooches as friendly as a prison door: a wide choice of disgusting and putrid dishes that even my college would not have dared to serve. If you want fries, it's extra of course. The staff are rude and refused to help us when our car was stuck in the snow. Same when your pyramid key no longer works while you are frozen outside, no one comes to help you. On the other hand, the reindeer are very friendly and welcoming. Give the money back! (Original) Une belle arnaque. Rendez l’argent !

(Translated by Google) Nice location but not justified in terms of price. The room is very narrow and the bathroom is much too small. The shower doesn't have proper doors, so the bathroom is flooded with water when you shower. The ventilation cannot be switched off, so it hums all night long - you would like to enjoy the peace and quiet in this beautiful location - unfortunately not possible. It snowed during the night and the snow remained on the glass roof so that little of the view could be seen. Dinner and breakfast were a disappointment. Hardly any choice, cheese and cold cuts dry and everything tasteless. The complex as such offers a lot to discover, especially for children. However, nothing is included in the hefty price. Even viewing the reindeer has to be paid for separately. When it comes to activities, I understand that but if you are sent away just by looking over the fence at the reindeer because you don't have a ticket, that's sad considering such a high price for overnight accommodation. If you pay 570 euros for one night, your expectations are different.
