The 50 best coffee shops and best cafes in Lapland

A bit on the pricey side. But the pizza's were delicious, some ingredients were unavailable but we we're able to work out something to our wishes. The service was fine. It was a bit confusing for us that the burger and pizza place were two seperate things, whilst the website seemed to suggest both were possible. Im still not sure if that's the case. I also don't enjoy redding drinks from a while, a card menu on the table with offered drinks would've been nice.

If you are in the area and want to try something different, this is the place to be. For lunch we had Reindeer burger with chili fries. Great taste and really loved the combination of fresh chopped chili peppers and fries. Cool down with a local beer. Cool vintage interior, friendly staff too. Doesn’t come cheap though, but hey… you’re probably on holiday so who cares.

Quirky retro burger place, great for a fun casual date. Burger is very saucy and compliments well with the reindeer steak. Friendly staff who recommended us some nearby spots to visit.

The interior of the restaurant is a bit odd, but still quite unique. The service was fast and nice, no complaints. I've been there three times and have never been disappointed. Usually in restaurants you eat burgers with a fork and knife, so I find it a wonderful change to be able to eat them with your hands. The food is good and it's served in a fun way, even if it has a bit of a fast food restaurant vibe, I wouldn't compare this restaurant to something like that. Good place, definitely recommend to try it! there is also a pizzeria, whose pizzas have been praised by friends.

The salmon soup was quite enjoyable and is something I would recommend. The beef brisket was quite disappointing as about half of it was fat. Fortunately, they offered to replace it with a leaner beef brisket and it was much better. Overall, it was a decent meal at an above average price. Might be the best pick of the restaurants at the village.

A bit more expensive restaurant, but surely worthy of stopping by. My friends and me got here for breakfast buffet. The price on the website is a bit outdated - if you aren't a guest staying at the Village, breakfast costs 20 Eur per person. Considering what everything you get in return, I think the prices is adequate. People working at the place are super nice and smiley. Compared to other people I met in services in Finland, those working here stand out with their customer approach and friendliness. I felt like being on vacation.

If you want a breakfast with a wide selection, but don’t really care about quality this is a good place. The person I visited with who likes the basics like bacon and sandwiches was pleased. Unfortunately the food was not very good tasting according to me. All the cheese and cutlery was frozen. And the scrambled eggs (which for me is the main thing on which you can determine quality of breakfast) was very bad.

Pros - Super selection of lunch buffet items. From main course to soups, desserts, breads, salads and coffee. Dessert was the most impressive part, white chocolate moose and the hilla-pudding were delicious. Cons- muikku (fried Vendace) was served cold and not soft at all

The food was simple but very good. There was also an orchestra playing which added to the warm cozy atmosphere.

We went in March 25 and it was cold, so food was served indoors. Not sure about spring/summer months. The cafe was small so seating was limited. However, there was an adjoining hall that was opened for extra seating to accommodate the crowd. Food served was buffet style, and for a small cafe, the variety and quality was good. Food station was topped up quickly, so no trays were ever empty. For those who don't want the buffet, the cafe has a good range of coffee, tea, and sandwiches/pastries that you can order as well. Cafe was simple and clean, and the staff were friendly.

My photos dont do the food justice, but the food here was a hidden gem!!! Had the lunch buffet for 15€ and they provided unlimited coffee and tea as well! Casserole and pasta was the bomb! I went for second servings and it was still good despite me eating when im full!

The Reindeer pie is very good, but the salmon croissant is bad, full of mayonnaise and the croissant is old.

There is a museum, there is a café. Arktikum Café offers delicious options for a tea or coffee break when visiting or not the museum. If you fancy some exquisite buffet lunch you can have it for about €16.- (real good value). Refill is available as in any coffee store in Finland. 🥰

If you want a place that serves real and typical Finnish food, try Arktikum Café! Much better than what they serve tourists in restaurants in the city center. Especially, come for the "lounas", the typical cheap lunch.

Limited choice but considering its in a remote area, we can allow that. Food were quite salty for most dishes.

We ate there once during our stay and ordered a la carte dinner. Since I didn’t like the vegetarian options, I ordered two pre dishes! A soup, which was super tasty and roasted beetroot with a cheese - since I don’t eat goat cheese (or the vegan one) I asked to leave it and I receive 5 small pieces of cold beetroot for 15€ - in a place like this I would expect to replace it somehow or at least put some bread aside! That was a bit disappointing!

We stayed at Apukka and ate here a couple times. The breakfast was decadent. There was even a chocolate fondue fountain, for example. A lot of vegetarian or vegan options. For dinner, we ordered the tasting menu once. It was yummy. Flavors were intense but complementary to each other. We especially love their bread. So good. Soft but chewy at the same time. Ordering a la carte is the way to go! The tasting menu doesn't have a vegetarian version but you can survive by picking out the vegetables and eat good food :) Otherwise, there are vegetarian options outside the tasing menu that you can order separately. In short, food and atmosphere are top tier. We conclude, after a week, people know how to cook in Finland.

The mushroom risotto was AMAZING!!! My husband liked his reindeer dish as well. My Cloudberry drink was also very good! We ate here while staying at Apukka. The breakfast buffet here in the mornings is very good and has a lot of options!

Our snowmobile package by Get Your Guide (Wild Nordic as the service provider) included buffet lunch at Restaurant Aitta at Apukka Resort. The vegan and veggie buffet were simply lovely with quality and variety of salads, dressings, awesome tomatoes soup, desserts, coffee etc. It was pure joy to dine here, not because it's buffet but the taste of it all and a wide spread of vegan food 👍😋 Besides buffet, you can opt to order their other a la carte menu which some tables ordered and looked scrumptious too.

I stayed at the hotel on site for a week and ate here daily for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of options, from cold cuts to a chocolate fountain. Neither are my favorites for breakfast, but they also had eggs and oatmeal. The dinner options were very pricey and not good. Namely, the choices were limited, the meals were served cold and poorly seasoned (wayyy too much salt) and the taste was overall poor (shredded cold/dry reindeer on instant potatoes, previously frozen overcooked fishy fish). Maybe it’s because the hotel is closing soon for the season and they are using up what is left and have the B team chef at work. But if I stayed at this hotel again I would save money and either bring my own food or try to find better options in the area for dinner.

Excellent service, super nice staff and well prepared food. The reindeer and moose are a must. Variety of wine and beer is good, perhaps it could be expanded.

A surprising find! We were visiting the museum and were hungry and chanced upon the café. Delicious fresh food. We are vegetarian and there was a large tasty array in the buffet. Very good value for money. Friendly informative staff, happy to help :)

This lunch buffet is a gem! It has delicious imaginative salads, yummy homemade spreads and condiments such as pickled red onions and cucumber and so much more. Most things are made in house instead of store bought. The bread is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and you also get tea/coffee included in the price. If you want a cozy, healthier (and much more tastier) option to burgers and fries, this is the place to go. :) Oh, and most of the things are vegan which was an additional plus.

Nice and cozy lunch restaurant and cafe. Korundi is actually art museum and it is made into old red brick warehouse and therefore this is a real rarity in Rovaniemi. Food is tasty and easy going. In many cases the vegetarian choices are also good. Recommended indeed.

A modern cafe with both savoury and sweet options. Waffles are very filling, with a big piece of chicken fried to the perfect texture. There is also a variety of drinks to choose from including both tea and coffee.

Great place for lunch, waffles with salty fillings and salad were very delicious. We had waffles with chicken and skagen filling and they were both great. Salad with chicken was also good. All portions were well sized and took away hunger. Customer service was friendly and the restaurant was clean.

The place looks nice, we however waited 45 minutes for a cold waffle and when my girlfriend kindly asked for “2 fork”, the waitress corrected her “2 forks”. The icecream was also nothing to brag home about. I was dissapointed. It seems nice, but the service is not that nice. The mexican place next door is very good though have been there 2 days ago.

Campfire Barista is a kind of a "street food stall" making fresh coffee, Gloegi hot drink etc. over wooden fire. They also offer homemade berry marshmallows, which were super tasty. We liked it as it's so traditional and cute. We had a chat with the owner who is good in English and German. He explained that his wife is collection berries for the marshmallows in the woods and that its homemade. It's a must-do in Levi!

The name speaks for itself! I'd love to give this place 6 stars. Unfortunately, it's not an option. Coffee is good. Cookies are awesomely delicious! I'll go back and try the sausages as well 🔥

Coffee and chai latte were amazing. It was great hearing from Stefan about his story and the locally sourced products! We felt very welcomed :))

Loved meeting the campfire barista, the coffee was fantastic, vegan options available too. Hot berry juice and hot chocolate also an option for non cofee drinkers. The Chai latte with a shot of espresso (Dirty chaga-chai) is simple wonderful. Homemade cookies and marshmallows also available. If you are visiting Levi its an experience not to be missed. The coffee sled was just over the road from Zero Point. Lovely chatting to Steffan too. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

Best coffee in Levi 😍and such a great vibe! The coffee is home roasted, boiled on wood fire, on a cart behind the snow mobile. Also other lovely home made drinks and marshmallows cookies on fire.

We got a chai with espresso, a hot chocolate with espresso, and a cloudberry s’more. Everything was delightful and the host was very friendly. We enjoyed our stop very much and would highly recommend! Also this little coffee stand has many accolades and awards, including Gordon Ramsay. Must stop!

We had a dirty chai and a normal chai with oat milk, homemade marshmallows (which you can roast over the fire), vegan cookies and normal cookies. Everything homemade. It was so so do delicious, that we came back the next day! If you happen to be in Levi come by and try it!

Upon our arrival in Äkäslompolo, following an overnight train journey from Helsinki to Kolari, Jolie served as our first dining experience. We enjoyed very much of the lunch menu, featuring a reindeer pasta bowl and a smoked reindeer with baked potato. Additionally, we had the pleasure of experiencing the special Friday Night Dinner crafted from local ingredients. Beyond the exquisite food, Jolie provided relaxed ambiance and the warm, high-quality service.

I had the Glögi cake and later the tarte flambée with rainbow trout and dill oil. Along the way I enjoyed first the Ystäväntee and then the Ruuti tea. Everything was wonderful, qualitative and organic products (+gluten free, for which it concerns) and very finely prepared. Also the service was always very friendly. Enjoyed it very much just being there.

It's so easy to love this place since lovely Benne is working here. Her smile will always cheer you up and the quick service she provides will leave you satisfied. There's a nice variety of sweet and savory products served. Alcohol and warm drinks are served. Also, it's a suitable place both for a morning or an evening visit. Totally recommend it!

Salad was very good, but could have been little better. Nice atmosphere and surprisingly large variety of lunch option for a cafe. Was crowded most of the time we were there.

Found upstairs in one of the shopping areas. You can enter from both the inside, and the outside via the wooden steps. There are lots of cakes, and a good choice of hot drinks. The inside of the cafe is VERY small, crowded and cramped. The food and drinks are great but there's definitely a lack of space. Outside there are a few bar tables, but without chairs. Worth a visit but go early.

The carrot cake is absolutely delicious, with a subtle hint of cinnamon and a texture reminiscent of pound cake. Ham & cheese toast also not bad. I really enjoy it.

A traditional coffee place directly on the skiing track. Nice atmosphere but food is good but the most expensive compared to any other cafes in the area and it’s also the most crowded place as it is situated on the crossing of major skiing tracks

Great stopover on skiing trip in Ylläs

This is such a nice place to stop. A warm welcome and both the reindeer and the soup are home made. There is a lovely fire and plenty of charm. On of my favourite places.

The legendary cross-country Hut approximately 10 km from the village of Äkäslompolo. In the winter season offers snacks, soup, juices and coffee.

Great pralines, we liked white chocolate with pistachio the most. Hot chocolate was a bit disappointing, especially for a place that specializes in chocolate. Also, I found it strange that it was served with a straw.

It seems that focus is not that much anymore on chocolates since then selection has shrinked to only a handful. Many good ones and exotic ones are not available anymore. This large branch of the Coffee House cafe chain is located at the heart of the downtown area of Rovaniemi. It is quite spacious and offers a good selection of coffees, drinks, and snacks. It is certainly a good place to stop by and recharge before or after a day of activities.

We were looking for a coffee and a quick bite to eat. Overall, we were a bit disappointed with the coffee and the freshness of the bagels. One was good and the other slightly stale. They needed to be warmed to eat as they come out of the cabinet cold. The coffees are ok but it is not a “real” cappuccino. The seating is ok but not a place where you feel like staying longer. There are better options in the town.

Having literally just arrived in Rovaniemi from the night train, with it so cold and minus 26 outside, we came here to warm up, Great coffee and croissants, service was quick despite it being very busy, We came back several times during our stay, great place to warm up with good choices of cakes and sandwiches and drinks.

We checked out Coffee House Rovaniemi and tried the Cappuccino and Omenapiirakka (Apple Pie). The Cappuccino was smooth and not acidic. It also came with a small milk chocolate from Karl Fazer (Finnish chocolate) which was good. The Omenapiirakka (Apple Pie) was good with good sized pieces of apples which were fresh, a little tart and not so sweet. Would definitely recommend if looking for an apple pie that focuses on bring out the freshness of the apple instead of relying heavily on the sugar and cinnamon flavouring.

Only after you ordered your drink would they tell you that dogs are not allowed here. If you’re looking for a pet friendly place, go to the espresso house instead. The coffee is better there anyway.

Last December, we had the chance to visit Finland, and we spent an amazing time snowboarding and eating here. This is a truly wonderful family-run business, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough! Although I unfortunately forgot the names of the staff members, I have to mention how incredibly warm and welcoming everyone was. The lovely lady who welcomed us made us feel welcomed right from the very first moment. She was so kind and genuine. At the restaurant, there was a young gentleman who was also extremely friendly and attentive we felt like we were among friends rather than guests. You can really tell that everyone there does their job with passion and love for what they do. It’s rare to experience such authentic hospitality these days, and we are so grateful for it. If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, enjoy amazing service, this is absolutely the place to go.

Very nice vegan salad, good taste. Only downside is it was not much. I recommend adding quinoa or some nice bread. It would make it a 10/10.

Great food, good quality and good price. Beautiful setting and warm environment. The staff is really nice and the amenities are well maintained. A must visit in low and high season.

Tip: you can return your ski pass (card) for a free drink. We were not told this, and this should have been clearer, especially when we were issued the ski pass! We only heard about it as we were trying to refund the pass (as is usually the case in Canada). Cozy restaurant, very comfortable to rest during ski runs. They serve hot and cold beverages and food too, so one can have breakfast, lunch, or a simple snack there at reasonable prices. We had the Soup of the Day (Arctic Char Soup), served with bread and butter. It was quite delicious, though it was a little too sour for our liking (the other Lohikeitto we tried in Finland were not that sour). Apple Glogg was super refreshing - loved the sweet sour taste and was truly a delight for someone who likes sour things! Hot chocolate was good and soothing. The iced latte could have been better with a bit more espresso, as the coffee taste was quite diluted with the milk. All in all, definitely a decent place for a break from the tiring ski slopes!

Good location next to the ski rental. Great food with local vibes - not so common in ski center bars! Had reindeer burgers, pasta and sandwiches. Also pet dog was welcome and was served some water & biscuits. Fantastic service by Tom - originally from the UK but lived in North Finland years already and knows the culture and language.

Quick visit to a lovely location. I drank tea and ate a bun. Minnie (the dog) immediately received a cup of water and was pleased. So, the place is pet-friendly.

No table service, newly renovated in 2023 and very nice ambience, very tasty desserts, I missed the option for a hot chocolate, fine coffees from a coffee machine and no filter coffee. I have another idea for the owners - please also sell fresh malt bread. We looked everywhere in Levi and couldn't find any.

Lovely bakery with chocolate, cakes, coffee and souvenirs. On the top level there is a small exhibition/art gallery too. The place is all Swiss, but regardless worth visiting as a tourist:)

Unique place at center of Munio village. First you wouldn't believe yhat this small village would have even a cafe so I was happily surprised. Good selection of cakes and of course chocolates also some special coffees to choose. But products seemed not handmade and coffee was also from the machine. There was also a art gallery upstairs, totally recommended to visit there :)

Tried sacher cake and swiss chocolate. Cake was very good but hot chocolate was a bit mild in taste.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help with any questions. The best part is the location—every restaurant and bar is just a short walk away. They also offer luggage storage, which is super convenient. The bathrooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the overall vibe is really cozy.

Had a great stay here. Booked the private 2 bed rooms. There’s kettle in the shared kitchen to make hot drinks and also to cook food with. The package I booked comes with breakfast, it wasn’t luxurious but its selection is great, for me it is perfect for what I need.

Well maintained, well located hotel at a reasonable rate. The staff attitude and aptitude are amazing. The reception works only from 7 AM to 7 PM. The restaurant closes at 18 hours. Once the reception is closed the checkin is to be done through the kiosks. The hotel has common kitchen where one can cook and eat, and a sauna.

Top hostel, everything looks very new and of good quality. Free towels included and 1 hour of "public" sauna. Receptionist was super nice and places looked clean. Did not try the cafe/food

Great place with nice service. The buffet is simple but good. I like the homemade granola on my porridge with the homemade jam. There was a mistake on my key card and I couldn't get in on the second day. But service can in the night and fixed it. As someone who uses a CPAP it would be nice to have a plug free. But it was minor, just unplugged a light.

The breakfast was amazing, with a variety of options to start the day right. The coffee was exceptionally good—probably the best I’ve had in a hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Hostel Cafe Koti was top notch with great service, convenient location in Rovaniemi, Finland, and breakfast being included. Our room was spacious and clean with en suite shower/bathroom :) We enjoyed the variety of options for the breakfast. Their homemade bread was awesome. Would definitely recommend. Also, the coffee was good, smooth, and not acidic.

The perfect distance for a newbie beginner cross country skiier to head off to across or around the lake. It's only 3km from the main area so about 45 minutes easy pace. Lovely food and drinks at a reasonable price - fun stuff to buy there too.

We stumbled upon this little gem by accident, looking for something open on monday for dinner. The reindeer stew was hearty and delicious together with a free bread available. Very good latte. We took some baked pastry to go and even got some buns for free from the friendly lady behind the counter because it was closing time. Reasonable prices, rustic decor. We have probably been in Levi 4 times a year over the past 10 years, but never found this amazing family cosy cafe/bakery/bistro. You will walk by their door if you don't look for it. Located in the main walking street, in the basement of a building, so not easy to spot. Cosy atmosphere and tasty pizza made with their own sourdough crust, also great fresh baked goods. Good selection of food and coffee. Even REAL Coke, and in a glass bottle. Usually hard to find Coca-Cola in Levi restaurants. This will be our new place from now on. Very happy we found it. Kiitos

Totally overpriced avocado toast. Simple slice of white bread and smashed avocado on top and little garnishes. It was described accurately on the menu, so I take it as my mistake for ordering it for this price of 15,50 EUR. Other items on the menu probably would be better value for money. Located downstairs in the basement.

What an amazing place! I accidentally stumbled in, the place was quiet and welcoming. Tried the cloudberry cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious! The owner then told me how to make it! Definitely the best place for an authentic stop in Levi!

While the location in the cellar feels a bit inconvenient, this is affordable compared to other restaurants in Levi. The meatballs were delicious, too.

Nice and calm cafe in Levi center. They have a good menu of freshly prepared dishes like omlettes, different types of sandwhiches. I went there quite hungry and was satisfied with what i saw and got. They have big tables for big groups also

The place is quite cosy with wooden benches but the pastries were not as good as any of the ones we had before. Not sure everything is home-made. The cheesecakes were too filled with gelatine but the whipped cream and jam bun and the carrot cake were good.

After the visit to Pyhä ski resort and getting off from Pyhä express, I walked down into the cafe to have lunch buffet and it was awesome. The buffet is unlimited. You get options for main course as well as salad. There is homemade beer which is non alcoholic. Schnitzel & fried potatoes were awesome with the creamy sauce. Tuna fish rice was the best I have ever eaten. The salad options also offered small fishes that were tasty. Felt great as I finished with coffee and it’s also included in the buffet.

We came here for the buffet lunch and wow! The mushroom soup is legit the best I’ve ever had in my entire life! So much mushroom chunks in the soup! Quality of food was amazing. Staff were friendly. Food was priced reasonably too:)

Sign on men's room wall: "If you see anything amiss, please inform the staff." Me (to a waiter): "There is no toilet paper in a stall in the men's room." Waiter: "That's ok, a cleaner is coming by later in the evening." It was not closing time. This incident completely defined the experience for me; other aspects don't matter anymore. When I told my wife, she said there was no toilet paper in the ladies' room either.

By chance we discovered this magical little hut. A nice couple told us a lot about the area and we could taste traditional salmon soup and warm berry juice. They also offer delicious pastries. What we found particularly unique was that the light came only from fairy lights, candles and the fireplace. Very romantic :-)

Amazing traditional finnish kota Cafe. Wood burning fire inside. Lots of homemade food and delicious hot drinks. The 10 minute walk through the forest to the Cafe was like a winter wonderland. One of the highlights of our trip! Finnish donuts and sweet hot chocolate all round!

We visited Velhonkota cafe during the wintertime by cross country skiing. I think it is one of the best "cottage cafes" Ylläs wilderness area has. The location is easy to access from Äkäslompolo but also it is a nice place for a rest when skiing around the Ylläs mountain. The cottage itself is very nice and robust. Its huge fireplace is perfect for spreading warmth and for decoration. You can buy lunch, refreshments, cafe, tea, bun etc. but a "must" is to taste their wonderful thin pancakes with cream and cloudberries. The service is friendly. Pricing is high but one must consider the loacation - everything must be brought there by the snowmobiles during the wintertime. Mind the early closing time during the late spring, when days are longer.

The Wizards Cottage! My absolute favourite cottage in Akaslompolo. Story goes every village used to have a wizard back in the days and this might have been the cottage of the wizard of Akaslompolo (Velon means wizard). It’s round, which makes it extra cozy. There is a little fireplace with a couch in front and some tables to sit on. Great berry juice with free refill and delicious donuts! Pancakes look and smell great too!

we stopped here on our way to Inari, the cafe is very rustic and charming and is situated right on the lake with stunning views. The service was very friendly and the food we ordered was; one Pancake with mixed Berry’s and the other pancake with orange berry’s both had a little tablespoon size ice cream and whipped cream on both. Both pancakes were tasty and the berrie compotes on each were good, however could have had a little more ice cream to go with the sharpness of the berries. Next we ordered a slice of Chocolate Cake which was moist and delicious. Another homemade local cake which just was ok. The cappuccino was not very amazing. If you are near this area I would recommend a visit to enjoy the great view of the lake.

In a incredible place next to a lake! We had tasty pancake with cloudberry jam, ice cream and whipped cream and a coffee. There’s outside terrace with big windows to the lake. While waiting for your treat, you can listen to the waves and enjoy the view. There was even a swallow bird’s family’s nest under the roof with few hungry faces there! Truly lovely place!

After hours of driving, in a land where very few cafes/restos are (and even fewer are opnen on Sundays), Cafe Harianna appeared as a vision, with its cheerful colors and beautiful outside tables and chairs! This delightful little spot was a totally unexpected gem on our journey north, and trust me, it's a must-stop pitstop! I devoured two incredibly fresh pancakes with smoked salmon (pure bliss!), but they also whip up crepes featuring those unique Lappish cloudberries – a real taste of the North. Everything felt homemade and utterly scrumptious! Beyond crepes, they have other tempting pastries to choose from, perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth. The service here is fantastic, and the staff are super friendly, making the whole experience even better. You'll even find some cool souvenirs inside if you need a little memento. Apparently, they're open daily from June to September, so if you're traveling north from Rovaniemi or south towards it, do yourself a favor and pull over here for a top-notch break. Your taste buds (and your travel weary soul) will thank you!

Location of the cafe is really nice and i think that is the main highlight of this cafe. Enough sitting space inside and outside cafe. We just took coffee and it was okay. You can also get Lapland region souvenirs. If you are passing by then i would definitely recommend this cafe.

We rented our snowscooter for a day and I was the best day ever. Such a lovely lady who helped us with the snowscooter and gave us such a safe feeling that we could enjoy ourselves. I would recommend everybody to go here! When you are frozen you can also heat up with a nice cup of coffee!

Great place when you need a break from skiing. There is also a podium for bands to play at and they organize pub quizes in english. A little bit pricier drinks but the atmosphere was worth it.

Wht a lovely find in Ivalo! We visited Restaurant Cafe Ivolo for lunch and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The buffet-style setup was a pleasant surprise, offering a great spread of fresh salads, delicious fried fish, creamy chicken, and even dessert pastries. While the selection may not seem huge, the quality and variety were excellent. Plus, for just €38 for two people, it’s an incredible value—especially in Finland! One of the most memorable parts of our visit was the warm hospitality of the owners. We were craving rice, and to our surprise, the boss personally cooked fresh rice for us at no extra cost—a truly kind and thoughtful gesture that made us feel so welcomed. Oh, and just a little bonus for those who appreciate good-looking people—the boss and the server are really handsome (just saying! 😉). The café itself is spacious, cozy, and inviting, with comfortable sofa seating for those who just want to relax with a coffee. They serve premium coffee and a great selection of teas, but these are at an additional cost, as are the cakes and donuts—perfect if you’re in the mood for a little extra indulgence. If you're in Ivalo, this is definitely a place to visit! Whether for a full meal or just a relaxing coffee break, Restaurant Cafe Ivolo is a gem. Highly recommended!

We went to Cafe Ivalo several times during our honeymoon in Lapland and each time we were very well received. Possibility of loading all our computer equipment, excellent cuisine and very, very friendly server. The best place for a drink!

What a great find and highly recommended from the food available and the friendly and helpful owners. As soon as we walked in the owner already was getting the coffee ready for us. We were 2 cold looking cyclists though but it was a surprise. The cinnamon knots were freshly baked - yum. We had a slice of salmon quiche and a slice of spinach quiche. Both were excellent. The service was definitely not typical Finnish as one of the owners is Scottish and is happy to have a chat and to give recommendations on the area.

Have a drink (bring a date!), have a steady lunch or dinner here. They also offer pastries and souvenir-like candy options for purchase. Väylä gives a good restaurant feeling. It's beautiful with creative detail and has a bar vibe to it (in a good way). The sound level was a little intense in the area next to the cash register. I reckon the other saloon on the right-hand side from the entrance will give you a very pleasant experience without the busy backdrop.

Hidden gem in Pyhä . We went for cake, lunch and dinner. There times during our one week stay! Lot of gluten and Laktose free cake options. For lunch we had a very tasty reindeer soup and dinner was delicious. We had the salmon soup and fish tapas followed by the lemon pike risotto and some more cake. My 9 year old son loved their soups and they have quiche and mini pizzas as well. Service is very attentive . Unfortunately it doesn’t get the traffic it deserves .. go visit and enjoy!

The offered dishes are unique for the area and I surely can't go for them at my country. One of the things that surprised me was lighted menu. Pieces of paper placed on LED base. I didn't see this kind of solution for menu before and I find it very practical and original. There is a big offer of deliciously looking cakes. So whatever you go for, there will probably still be a place for a desert in your stomach. Count with slightly higher prices.

Easiest 5 stars of our Lapland trip so far. The food uses local ingredients but uses them in a nicely different way than most other places nearby. Can really recommend the roach sandwich. They also have a tasty choice of cakes and pies.

Our favourite place in Pyhä for a good coffee and some fresh homemade cakes. Highly recommend to everyone who is in this area. The atmospehre is really friendly and the service is amazing.

Easy five star! Lunches are served from the counter, and dinner is table service. I recommend both. The chef clearly is highly skilled and creative, giving you innovative takes on the typical Finnish ingredients. The menu changes frequently, so the options likely will differ between visits. Coffees are made with skill as well. The pastries are gorgeous, but I haven’t tried them yet.

We visited Aurinkotupa cafe during the wintertime by cross country skiing. It is one of the "cottage cafes" of Ylläs wilderness area, thoug the location is not far from the nearest settlement. You can also came by car there. The cottage itself is very nice timberwood hous. You can buy lunch, refreshments, cafe, tea, hot chocklate, bun etc. The service is friendly. Pricing is high but it is Lapland. The place has activities for the children. It is quite popular because its location and easy ski tracks leading there.

Who knew-there are car cafes all around the world! Sometimes cat cafes are a way to socialize cats to get them adopted which serves a higher purpose but I think this one is simply a cafe where you can pet their cats if you have a hankering for playing with someone's cats. Cafe Zero is a nice and spacious place to have a few beers or mulled wine at the end of a day of skiing. It also serves a variety of typical ski resort food, like french fries with chicken "Kanakori". The service was friendly - no table service though. Even though the place was full when we visited, we managed to get a table by asking around. The location is central, next to the front slopes lifts. There is a large ski-equipment rental and sportswear store in the same building.

This cafe was a perfect shelter for us during a very snowy day in January. The place was basically empty but several people stopped by to pick up orders that had been called in. The woman in the shop was so kind and even made an effort to answer our questions about saunas in the area (which is not in her job description I'm sure!). Really enjoyed our coffee and pastry.

I was there in July 2017 on my way to NordKapp. This emblem is placed over the imaginary line of the Artic Cycle. You can find a nice souvenir shop and a wide car park. Inside the shop, many wood's products and souvenirs are sold.
