As full-time travelers for the past five years, we have stayed in hundreds of hotels and hostels around the world. This is the first time we’ve ever felt the need to leave a place before the end of our booking. We initially reserved six nights here based on positive reviews on Google Maps, but it became clear that most of the reviews older than 1.5-2 years referred to a completely different accommodation that no longer exist, so the overtook the maps point and all the reviews.
As digital nomads, we rely heavily on electricity and internet access.
Unfortunately, my local SIM card had no coverage on the island, leaving me entirely dependent on the hotel's Wi-Fi. Within our first 10 hours, we experienced several power cuts, which are apparently government-mandated. One of these outages caused me to miss an important call, incurring unexpected costs. Due to the unpredictable power situation, we decided to shorten our stay to three nights, as we couldn’t risk further interruptions to our work. However, when we requested this adjustment on the first morning, the hotel did not respond for seven hours and eventually refused to accommodate our request.
We found another hotel just five minutes away by scooter, and even though it is a three-star property, the price was lower than what we paid here. The new hotel offers far better amenities, comfort, and service, making the move absolutely worth it.
At €27 per night, this property was not only overpriced but also the smallest and most uncomfortable room we’ve stayed in across the Philippines, with a lack of basic amenities:
No space for luggage or storage
No hot shower
No opaque curtains for privacy
No blanket provided
No kettle or cups
Nowhere to make coffee or tea unless using the restaurant
No seating or outdoor space in front of the room
No area to hang wet clothes after the beach or laundry
Extremely thin walls, with noise from the street, loud talking staff, and music starting as early as 6:00 AM and continuing until 10:00 PM
Additionally, during our three-night stay, the room was not cleaned even once, and no one asked if we needed anything, such as fresh towels.
The restaurant: this area was the only area where you can hang out lacked any fans, making it unbearably hot during the day. While it was possible to sit there in the morning or after sunset, the heat during the afternoon hours was overwhelming, effectively limiting its usability as a communal space.
The property had a pool but no sunbeds or seating, making it impossible to relax. Overall, the comfort level was zero, and this place is not suitable for longer stays.
The fact that we found a much better hotel nearby for a lower price only highlights how overpriced and uncomfortable this property is. If you’re considering this hotel for a one-night stay and don’t mind the bare minimum, it might suffice. But for anything beyond that, we cannot recommend it at all
