Beaches
Vaño Beach, located in Lapu Lapu city, is a stunning destination with an entrance fee of 100 pesos. The beach offers various shacks for rent, each catering to different group sizes. With its clean white sand and beautiful shades of blue water, it provides a serene environment for visitors. Additionally, there are snack and drink stores available on-site along with a grill station for cooking vegetables and meat.
For ₱100, you get to go to this beach! Ride was ₱15 from the “Crossing” area in Marigondon. You will be riding with others in this tricycle. This is a good beach to go when you just want to relax and not be with a big crowd. Water was shallow with the low tide. Water was a bit warm. The sand is mixed with seaweed and crushed seashells. Beach front is a bit rocky but gets softer as you go closer to the ocean. A good place with very underrated beauty! You can bring with you food and drinks, just be sure to clean up! Pets are welcome! Nearby, there is a mini port where you can go for island-hopping in 3 islands in groups with prices ranging from ₱2500.00 to ₱3,500.00. Prices and availability depends on the day.

EDIT: After swimming in this dirty beach last Sunday. My husband experienced diarrhea with vomitting since Sunday night. Rushed to the ER last Tuesday afternoon. And was diagnosed ACUTE GASTROENTIRITIS WITH MODERATE DEHYDARATION, INFECTIOUS DIARRHEA. #1 Culprit? The CONTAMINATED SEA WATER. (Sa mo judge dha na mo ana sa gi kaon? Dili ha kay same rami gi kaon tanan 8pax wa mi sakitig tiyan.) My husband is currently admitted in the hospital as advised by the GP. Wa gabae Vaño. Sige ramo dawat kwarta sa customers pero di mo kalimpyo. 🤮 (if ever makabasa ang management, fight me! I can give you all the medical records as needed) 🙄 "Last minute beach day decision." We wanted to try the "NEW VAÑO BEACH" 'cuz it was part of our childhood. We had Bamboo Huts which is ₱1800. Entrance fee of ₱150/adult and ₱100/kids. Cottage was fine. However, it's too noisy! Every cottage has it's own huge speakers/karaoke. No memo about it at all. We can't hear any conversation. (SOBRA PAS FIESTA OY) The beach or sea water is so dirty!!! Not seaweed dirty but trash from the people around. Orange peel, Banana peel, plastics all over. What's worst? PHLEGM!!!! Ew 🤮🤢 You have to pay ₱20/pax for the shower. Same! SALTWATER SHOWER. Lol Mens toilet, 1st cubicle- FULL OF VOMIT 2nd cubicle- FULL OF SHIT! Ladies toilet, sa ka barat na gani sa resort naa pagyud mo ninja na imbis ihianan or kalibangan ra. Ligoan gyud para d kabayad og ₱20! No maintenance or nobodys trying to clean after you. Despite of the ₱20 you paid. (KEVER OG NAY SUKA OR TAE!) It's so much worse than before. I regret bringing my kids here. We will never be back and will never recommend regardless of the "NEW LOOK" Still the beach is dirty! 🤮🤢

It was great. The sand was white. There were cottages. There was a life guard. There were plenty of guards. They had a pool but unfortunately they would only allow renters of their exclusive rooms to use the pools. The entrance was a hundred pesos and there is a separate fee for the cottages. They also have showers and restrooms but to use the showers there was some sort of payment required and the water flow was so weak. The toilets are for use of every one but it is not as clean as can be desired, it is like using a public restroom altogether. Anyways, we had fun and we enjoyed it so much. The water is clear during the earlier half of the day but after some time as people frolic in the water, the suspended sands make it murky. You can walk far into the sea and it remains clear and chest deep. There are also rocks and boats parked nearby which offer tourist hops and inter-island tours. You can also scuba dive in the area and there are diving clubs and resorts which offer such services.

4star for me as a semi public resort, entrance is good and cottage are well care I like how they manage the people mostly if weekend a lot of people are drinking but they make sure that nobody is drinking beyond the water sea. I like how the rules are implemented good job it's a whitesand although a lot of stone under the water when you go there and it's a high tide it's a blessing cause it's a beautiful sand beach

The location was great, with plenty of cottages, yet the parking lot and access road still require improvement. Multiple transactions required to enter. Not very crowded while we were there. Their cottages let us down a little bit; they're a little pricy and come without power, but you still have to pay for it. We might visit there once again soon, but hopefully with some improvements.
SAPIO, C — Google review
Cool place to look at the beach/ ocean but not to go into the water: very shallow, rocky, salty and ocean debris. The gazebos and all were awesome and to have a great time in! There is a gate fee, main entrance fee and trash deposit. Salamat!
William S — Google review
There have been improvements since our last visit in this resort. The cottages and comfort rooms have improved. The ambience is great! There are a lot of trees around as well as breathtaking white sands! ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT 1. The place is not so child friendly. I've picked up a lot of debris from broken glass bottles as well as caps of soft drinks (tanzans) on the seashore. My child even almost stepped on a large one! 2. There are a lot of dogs roaming around! Some of them even pooped on the white sands! So disgusting! 3. They have to improve their showers. The water pressure is so slow and you have to pay 20 pesos for 3 mins of bath. Some showers are not even working. Hope they'll improve this resort more. Also, hoping they'll have night swimming schedules as well as overnight options.

Vani beach is a beautiful beach in Lapu Lapu city. The beach can be accessed by paying a fee of 100 pesos. The beach has shacks can be rented for the day. They have various shacks based on the capacity. The beach has a white sand and the water has various shades of blue. The beach is clean and is well maintained. It also has a store where you can purchase snacks and drinks. Overall a good place to spend your day. They also have a grill station where you can grill the vegetables and meat.

Historical landmark
Mactan Shrine in Cebu is a historical site that pays tribute to the bravery of the Filipino people, particularly Lapu-Lapu and his soldiers who triumphed over the Spaniards in the Battle of Mactan. This popular tourist spot offers insights into Philippine history and serves as a symbol of resilience. The open field also hosts various events and provides a serene environment for visitors to appreciate its significance.
Such a lovely place for historic reasons. People there are so knowledgeable and seem to genuinely enjoy telling the history of the area. Spent a fair amount of time here learning and walking around. There is a small area to get reasonable priced souvenirs - recommend. Seems like a place some youth like to hang out or do some group activities such as dance practice, yoga/exercises maybe, or just relax together. There are restrooms available too.
Natty2810 — Google review
We've been here a lot of times already but haven't placed a review. For this review, it will be the Kadaugan Sa Mactan 2025. A lot of food to choose from and a good place to visit and have fun with your family. This time it was nice because Mactan Newtown offered a parking space nearby. When there's no events, still a good place to visit with Lapu-Lapu's monument standing tall. It's also a nice place to exercise as well.
Sidney O — Google review
There were some souvenir shops along the road, but inside the parc. You can get T-shirts, magnets, bracelets for affordable price. I got a dress for 350 and a beautiful bag for 250. Just walking around and looking at these shops could be fun!!

Few places in the Philippines capture both legend and legacy the way Mactan Shrine does. Standing on this sacred ground in Lapu-Lapu City is like stepping into the very page where our nation’s story first found its voice. Here, in April 27, 1521, the chieftain Lapu-Lapu led his warriors to victory against Ferdinand Magellan — the first recorded resistance against foreign domination in Philippine history. The shrine holds three key landmarks that preserve this legacy. The Lapu-Lapu Monument, built in 1981, rises tall and proud — a bronze sentinel guarding the sea he once ruled. A short walk away stands Magellan’s Marker, an obelisk built in 1866 by the Spaniards to honor the fallen explorer. Then, by the shore, a stone marker and battle mural depict the legendary clash — a timeless reminder of courage, defiance, and freedom. Beyond its history, the Mactan Shrine is a place of life and community. It’s a breezy seaside park where locals gather to picnic under palm trees, play parlor games, or dance as the sun dips into the sea. Souvenir stalls line the area, selling snacks, trinkets, and cold drinks, while a clean public restroom and visible police presence keep visitors comfortable and safe. Special mention to the tour guides, who aren’t just friendly and informative — they’re “human drones,” masters of taking cinematic shots and reels that make your visit unforgettable. Located near Mactan Newtown, Cebu’s modern IT hub, the shrine is easy to reach and perfect for an afternoon stroll. Come here at sunset, when the golden light turns the sea into molten glass and the mangroves glow with blue lights, giving the place an otherworldly, almost engkanto-like charm. Morning visits can be scorching, but twilight? Pure magic. In a city that blends history, myth, and modern life, Mactan Shrine remains its beating heart — a place where the story of freedom continues to echo with every wave.
Kleinberg T — Google review
The Mactan Shrine is a must see for everyone interested in history. It serves as a site of one of the defining moments in history, the Battle of Mactan. The shrine commemorates the battle between the Spanish led by Ferdinand Magellan and the Visayan native led by Chief Lapu-Lapu. Not much to do, it will be a quick visit unless you go in the afternoon, I believe they have food vendors at night. I went early in the morning and got to see the local Police (Pulis) doing training.
Russ L — Google review
Indeed a beautiful place to visit. I was there last Sunday, 27th of April attending the Annual celebration in Lapu-lapu City, Cebu which I found out that it's their ika-504th Kadaugan sa Mactan or "Victory in Mactan". It was celebrated with such events like reenactment of Lapu-lapu and Magellan battling at the Mactan Liberty shrine. Aside from the reenactment, the event features various cultural showcases, traditional dance performances, and engaging community activities designed to inspire pride and strengthen the cultural identity of Filipinos. It blends history, artistry, and a sense of community, establishing itself as an essential cultural celebration in the Philippines.

This unique outlet offers a variety of retail therapy options, featuring popular brands like Puma, Adidas, Levi's, and Nike. After indulging in some retail fun, visitors can unwind at the Central Park area where live music and events often take place. Use to be here for almost every night with my mom to walk around and eat and shop. I missed this place so much and was able to visit again but alone. But glad that there's more stores, restaurants, and other establishment build up around and more people, its means good business.

Pueblo Verde is a nice place with lots of food options and outlet stores for branded items. Parking costs ₱35 but it’s not covered. There’s Boss Coffee, plus SM and Robinsons nearby. Good spot for short hangouts with some small green landscapes.

Location: 🌟🌟🌟 Quite far from Cebu City. It would take you about an hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there. It would also depend on the traffic. Prices:🌟🌟🌟 although my family and I were able to shop a lot of stuff, I noticed that some items were almost the same price as with the main stores (considering that a lot are old stocks from their main stores). Not much discount though, as it would depend on the shop. Some with 70% off and some with only 15-20% off, some are even in full price. I suggest you visit when they have big sales, that way, you can fully enjoy the discounts. Quality of the items: 🌟🌟🌟 As what I said, most items are from their main stores so it's almost the same quality with what you buy from the main stores. Some stores though, you can see that there is really a big difference with the quality from the main store versus the outlets. The outlets one looks so poorly made. I once bought biker shorts at one store and a few months later the branding fell off. And to think I paid almost 2k Php for those shorts. I also bought a shirt that cost more than 1k Php and I only noticed when I got home that it was so thin, it's almost see-through. I suggest you really check the quality of the itemd before buying them. Staff: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Very friendly staff, approach them if you have questions and they will happily entertain you. Even the security guards are friendly. One security guard was happy because of the 3rd time I went back to their store, I was finally able to buy a few items haha. Overall rating: 3.5

Located along Pajo Basak Marigondon National road erroneously described as MV Patalinjug Avenue. I used to visit this place everyday but now crossing the road for this place is becoming dangerous because the Pedestrian crossing lights are always malfunctioning… there’s a skywalk but if you are old, obese, PWD, or you’re carrying something heavy ,, the skywalk will add to your burden…. the place once a dynamic but now is lonely place with few people visiting the place due to the closure of Food, Beer, and Live musics like SAVORA and BFK that attracts many visitors

With its diverse coastal ecosystem and abundant marine life including vibrant corals and rare fish, this sanctuary is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
A great adventure for the kids ages about 6 years old to 10 years old. We love the place. They love seeing Nimo there. Locals are great too. The atmosphere is so outdoorsy. We love swimming with the fishes. BRING skyflakes or breads are fun feeding the fish. kids loved doing it the most. one of the unforgettable memories. We plan to come back next year again.

This place is unique, and gorgeous! The iconic bridge is a great place to test your wide angle lens :D There's lots of little fish around, and taking a snorkel is highly recommended here, you'll see loads of fish around. A nearby sanctuary has a nice viewpoint for birds, a lovely stone bridge and some very helpful staff. There are coconuts for a drink and some trinkets on sale. Overall, a nice getaway, highly recommended.

Very nice place but the boardwalk needs renovation. You can swim, bike around, and do some snorkeling-so nice to see healthy corals, school of fishes, and giant c lams.

😊nice 2 ladies😊 Annoying steps when you are in the middle of the bridge you'll need to keep your body in balance every single step... and so far lot of people, plenty of drinks, drunkards celebrating holiday seasons. Before, this place it looks like wilderness, a lot of changes so far

Unexpected outing with colleagues. Its so much fun. We enjoyed the beach especially the fishes around. The cottage are also floating, they have a band which make more nice. Anyone can sing together with the band members. They also have little store there. But I enjoyed more with sea urchin so fresh. Love it.
Grace M — Google review
A great place to escape the city life for just a few minutes of boat ride away from Lapu Lapu City. Entrance is Php 75 and that includes the swimming fee. You also need to pay Php 100 for the table use. You can rent snorkling gears here. At the entrance you can find a few cottages, souvenir shop selling shell ornaments, shower area, and a convenience store. Getting to the sanctuary, you'll start with quite a long boardwalk. Passing through mangroves then towards the sanctuary. Half of the boardwalk has it's foundation cemented at the sea floor while the other half is just supported by floaters, so expect it to be a wavy walk if it's on a high tide. The Marine Sanctuary Cottage has a toilet, dressing area, some tables, and life vests hanging around. Outside Food is allowed. The sea has some fishes swimming around the area and some coral reefs as well. If it's on high tide, the waves can be a bit strong. If it's on low tide, you can't swim well but you can see the fishes and corals without the need to dive. Remember to come here during the High tide as swimming and entry is not allowed during low tide in order to protect the marine creatures especially the corals. The area can be crowded and noisy especially on weekends as groups tend to flock here.

Both lovers of nature and those looking for adventure will find San Vicente Marine Sanctuary in Olanggo, Cebu, to be a breathtaking and inspiring site. Historic Sites
Plaza Independencia in Cebu is a historic square and popular community hangout, offering an open grassy field for picnics and recreation. The park features attractive green spaces, thick trees, and plenty of sitting areas for visitors to enjoy a leisurely stroll or relax with family and friends. Reopened in 2011, this significant historical site dates back to the 1600s when it was known as Plaza de Armas, serving as a military training ground.
Nice outside space near the port area. There are many benches and green spaces. On a less scorching hot day, it would be nice to bring your lunch and have a picnic. There were many groups of young adults (teens) dancing all over the plaza. It was like K-Pop central. Nice place to walk and look around while in the port area.

Kid's playground has not been open for years now since they can't do simple proper maintenance on it. Or it could be that they just don't want to constantly clean the place up after the kids have finished playing on 'em.

It was a perfect place for family bonding ever since. I’ve witnessed its transformation since I was a kid and now that I have a kid. Not all of its story were great but all are worth it. This place is somehow the heart of the City or of Cebu (for me). It carries so much memories to everyone either locals or foreigners.

One of the best escape against the hustle and bustle of the city. Daytime may prove hot but night time is just perfect. During this time where Cebu is slowly opening up, there were only enough people spending their moments here. I like it that way since its peaceful.

Visited this place for a couple of times now and as frequent as once in a year. The arena has good air conditioning (it could even get too cold) and it could cover a large amount of people. Almost done applying for the renewal of our business permit renewal.. All personnel are very accommodating and helpful. They are always set the protocol of social distancing all the time eventhough people are very eager to let their papers be release in pronto.. But the Staffs are all well organized and ready at anytime in need of their assistance. Kudos to Mayor Ahong and with the rest of the staff for a job well done.

Park
D' Family Park, operated by the Metropolitan Cebu Water District, is a popular destination for families in Talamban. The park offers various amenities such as swimming pools, playgrounds, a mini-zoo, and a clubhouse. It's open daily from 5 am to 9 pm and provides ample green spaces for picnics and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy activities like jogging, swimming, and kids' games while also taking in the lush landscaping.
15 years have passed since my last visit and D'Family Park is still a must-visit destination for family gatherings, rendezvous for friends, and even a place for just relaxing and reclaiming nature's peace. I always love the nature vibe and the fees are totally affordable. It is still Cebu's premiere nature destination just within the urban landscape.

Wow! this place is so run down and not maintained, It cost us 75p for entry, after seeing how bad it was, they should be paying people to visit. You can enjoy swimming in the dirty cloudy pool, run through the mud, break your ankles on the footpaths or let your kids slide on the rust slides for some nice injuries!! The area has potential, but it is obvious that, who ever runs this, has no interest in it!

Best to double check with the security guard at the entrance whether pool area is open. Pool area opens at 7am. Shower area is not clean and looking rundown but shower is functional.

rustic and natural feel of a forest reserve in the outskirts of an urbanized community. complete with swimming pools for kids and adults alike and nearby sari-sari stores. accessible by hiking or by motorized vehicles, great for family excursions, nature escape with friends, or corporate team-building.

Its nice to jog here but several areas need to be repaired.

I had an amazing time here with my friends. The park is beautifully landscaped with lush greenery and plenty of open spaces for picnics and relaxation. The attractions are diverse and fun for all ages. It's a perfect spot for a day out or special occasions.

Nice place with plenty of trees and a good place for relaxation

It's superb place to enjoy. Also there pool for swimming. Pool is enough big and separate pool for children. Water is clean and safe. And also big play ground to play. But ball games not allowed there.🙁 There is also food available. Also nice place for corporate or organizational events.

The auditorium also doubles as a vaccination site, providing a clean and hospitable environment for visitors. With its rich historical significance and versatile functionality, this venue stands as an integral part of the city's cultural tapestry.
It was my first time at Lapu Lapu City Auditorium. We attended year 2 of Zin Master's Squadics Zumba! We won a lot of prices! As in the three of us got called twice! It wasn't so big but winning it and just having my name called made me so happy and feeling lucky! Zin Master conducts Zumba Dance at #MTC in Lapu Lapu! Two friends met, they were hugging, they didn't know my video is on 😍 I love it so much 😂

Got vaccinated at this place. The place was big enough to accommodate large number of people. The downside is the weather especially during these intense summers, it makes the place really hot despite the fans put around the place.

The original auditorium of the 'city'. Now too small for any functions. The area is too crowded and dark as well! Maintenance? What's that? The star is for the basketball court for the other times it's not used. At least it promotes fitness through sport.
Levi A — Google review
The place is good. Nothing new as the last time I did my visit until now. The place is big enough to hold 300-500 people.
Joy P — Google review
Very hot! There were no fans provided when we had our alumni homecoming here. Very little space to park.

SRP BAYWALK - Before this Baywalk is overrun by Isla de la Victoria, I wanted to say that SRP Baywalk is one of the first places that I've remembered about the south road.
