Flensburg

Flensburg is a town at the tip of the Flensburg Fjord in northern Germany. Its brick gabled Nordertor, built around 1595, is the last remaining city gate. The Flensburger Schifffahrtsmuseum chronicles the town's seafaring past. Nearby, the shipyard museum Museumswerft displays recreated historic ships and hosts boatbuilding classes. Museumsberg Flensburg explores art and cultural history from the Middle Ages onward.

Rote Straße in Flensburg is a charming and historic street known for its quaint atmosphere and beautiful old buildings. Lined with unique shops, cozy cafes, and artisan boutiques, it's a perfect place for a leisurely stroll. The street's cobblestone paths and well-preserved architecture offer a glimpse into Flensburg's rich past, making it a favorite spot for both locals and visitors.
It could be a good area for those who interested in local historical background and buildings. Like many other places in Germany, this area has been cared and well maintained by the people cherish the local historical relics. Inside of area where hidden some exciting lovely dining places can be found, such as beer garden, Irish and British restaurants, bars and etc.. How interesting!Imagine you spend a wonderful evening in the English garden right in the middle of German town! Little shops and boutiques have been opened since then. If you’re new in town, this is one of place you should not miss.
Classic Germany city atmosphere, clean, historic, quiet. It's a bit small, unfortunately there aren't many eating and drinking options.
Interesting place in Flensburg with lovely old side-streets & niche businesses. Flensburg great place to explore with haven & boat trips. 10 minutes over border to Denmark, all very friendly & relaxed - multilingual - German, Danish, English.
Verona - via Munich, to the danish girl that recommended going to Flensburg and visiting Rote Strasse´, big Thank You! =) I very much appreciated the "old town" style architecture and small shops, cafés, museums. The street is short but walking to the right at the end (coming in from Klostergang) will take you to a town square with local market (saturday only?) and after that you have the main street of FLensburg straight ahead as well, plenty to see. Much better than staying in Hamburg on my way home, genom Danmark till(+) Sverige.
(Translated by Google) I had read about the red street and wanted to see it for myself. What can I say? I'm absolutely thrilled with the atmosphere; the courtyards are fantastic and so cozy. I'll definitely go back, as I feel like I haven't seen everything yet. Highly recommended ***** (Original) Ich hatte von der roten Straße gelesen und wollte mir ein eigenes Bild davon machen. Was soll ich sagen? Bin total begeistert von der Atmosphäre, die Hinterhöfe sind fantastisch und so gemütlich. Ich werde definitiv wieder hinfahren, da ich - nach meinem Gefühl - noch nicht alles gesehen habe. Wirklich empfehlenswert *****
(Translated by Google) Great street with lots of beautiful interior open spaces. Art street I would say. Worth a visit. (Original) Supert gate med mange flotte invendige åpne arealer. Kunst gate kan jeg si. Verdt å besøke.

Be sure to check out the many courtyards with their great shops and restaurants. You almost feel like you've stepped back into the Middle Ages. We were particularly impressed by the historic harbor, especially because there was a harbor festival going on - what a nice coincidence.

Nice supermarket with great variety of products and stores. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My personal experience is very positive about this "shopping street" in Flensburg, as you don't need to visit a lot of other shops to buy your everyday goods and food. I would also love to visit the interior design and accessories store there, if one would be available.
This is a massive car park for motorhomes all parked along side each other, 99 units when we stayed. Its OK for an overnight, free parking, water €1/100 litres, drive over grey & septic disposal. Its outside the shopping centre so cars take spaces, but they tend to be gone by 6.00pm. Good for an overnight stop when crossing the border.
Good size shopping center. Prices are not very low and the food court is quite small with limited seat places.
Wonderful Christmas spirit. Singing angels, photography opportunity, a Santa Claus, some stores give out chocolate with the purchase. The Christmas decorations were very cute and parking is free (but be there in good time because it will be stuffed). Even had the opportunity for a glutenfree meal, but gor symptoms still so not for celiacs. Still, it's better than nothing.
Lots of good stores, and Citti Park supermarket has everything you could want, a great selection of fresh meats, cheeses and fish. The shopping mall also has a variety of small restaurants/cafes. We always look forward to our trip there every few weeks. Also plenty of parking outdoors and in.
The food i bought I have nothing to complain about, but even it was 5am on a Wednesday morning this was the most dirty and messed up McDonalds I have ever seen in my whole life
Massive center, with lots of different stores. The toilets was not very clean.

Science museum

Science museum with interactive experiments & optical illusions, plus a series of public lectures.
Slide 1 of 8
This science and experimental museum is a captivating destination for visitors of all ages. It brilliantly showcases the fundamental principles of physics along with more intricate concepts, making complex ideas accessible and engaging. Nearly every exhibit invites hands-on interaction, allowing guests to explore and experiment firsthand. The museum's cafeteria offers a delightful range of food and drink options at affordable prices, making it a perfect spot to recharge. Overall, the visit is both fascinating and educational, filled with opportunities to learn in a dynamic environment. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged across several floors, encouraging exploration and sparking curiosity at every turn.
Great place for all ages, very mind-stimulating and fun. It could be really nice is it was a place in the museum where we could find the right solutions/answers to the questions. We spent a bit more than two hours, but it could be more if we tried every single exhibit. There is a cafe one level up, which sells pastries, coffee and a large variety of soft drinks jouce.
Absolutely loads of experiments and interactive elements spread out over 4 floors. Some more detailed instructions of what you need to do and explanations of the outcomes would have been very helpful. Many things were self explanatory for adults but .y little kids were often confused about what they needed to do or what the point of that particular experiment was. Nevertheless they had a great time trying everything out for a few hours! Parking was 8,40€ for 4 hours which I found shocking. If possible look for alternative cheaper/free car parks than the designated Phenomenta one.
Cool place to visit and enjoy together with family. Lots of fun and interesting activities to try out. Enjoy your time there and have some fun.
Incredible location for very little money.. Great for kids, even our three year old loved it, but even better for older kids to learn physics and concepts. We used 2 hours, but had to hurry through the last couple of exhibits.
Fun science museum with a lot of hands-on activities. It is clearly designed for school-age children, not much for little ones. When crowded, it is hard to get to do all of the activities.
Great stuff, lots of things to do on practical machines that show simple physics. Kids will enjoy this. Only getting a ticket is a pain since you have to calculate at least half an hour for standing in line to the single open ticket counter. we wanted to go sunday, but there was over an hour of waiting time, so we came back on tuesday to stand in line for over half an hour.
Brilliant museum! Most of the installations are easy and impressive. The kids need very little guidance and mostly run around absorbing cool impressions. One idea excited me most: just a box with sand which is colored topographically by a beamer 🤩

St. Nikolas‘ Church (“St. Nikolai-Kirche”) on Südermarkt market square is a three-aisled stepped hall church with massive round pillars, built in two construction phases between 1390 and 1480. When I visited the church there was some renovating inside and out side
St. Nikolai Kirche in Flensburg is a stunning Gothic-style church that stands as one of the city's most prominent landmarks. With its towering spire and intricate interior, the church offers a peaceful space for reflection and admiration of historical architecture. Visitors can explore its beautiful stained glass windows, impressive altar, and the sense of history that permeates this sacred site.
What a beautiful church with such kind and welcoming parishioners.
⛪🌟 Flensburg Nikolaikirche 🌟⛪ A historic sanctuary echoing tales of the ages! 🕍✨ 🔔 Towering beauty adorned with intricate architecture. 🌍 An emblem of Flensburg's rich cultural heritage. 🎨 Marvel at stunning stained glass and ornate details. 🙏 A serene haven for reflection and spiritual solace. 📜 History and spirituality converge in this majestic church. #Flensburg #Nikolaikirche #CulturalHeritage #SpiritualSanctuary #HistoricBeauty
Beautiful old church in the middle of town. Built over various periods with some impressive pieces throughout especially the organs. Worth it to drop in but nothing really in English other than the plaque outside so mostly just nice to take in the atmosphere. Many old nobles etc buried here which is interesting to see from centuries ago. Would be great if you could climb the tower but we couldn't see a way to.
Definitely worth a visit! :)
Beautiful old Church with a nice atmosphere, and always a great place to to relax from the mundane shopping world around it. Just try to get inside, it is open many times and easily accessible and well worth the visit. Have a look for the announcements of concerts, you will find wonderful entertainments with a unique atmosphere for live music.
A really beautiful church! A lot to look at and take in. But i was a shame that all the descriptions on thing only were in german, I would have liked some in english as well.
