Atmospheric house containing family silver, china and books from the 1950s with a woodland garden.
Slide 1 of 8
Booked the car park, as advised on the website. Lovely property and grounds with friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Amazing house with very personal details/memorabilia that brings you closer to Agatha Christie and many of the characters in her novels. Very inspiring and interesting. We loved our visit.
We took the ferry from Dartmouth along to Greenway, definitely the best way to travel. A beautiful day with clear views of the Dart riverside properties. Greenways had long been on a list but actually it didn't quite match our expectations. The house was well laid out, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable but it just wasn't for us (purely subjective). Perhaps we had pinned too much on our love for Agatha Christie that the reality didn't match. That said, it was still a lovely day out and I would certainly recommend a visit. The boathouse was probably our favourite element.
A lovely house, Agatha Christine's holiday home where she spent her summer, birthday and Christmas. A small but beutiful house furnished with her belongings. Lovely gardens and boat house, dogs are welcome but are not allowed round the house. Note that there is limited car parking that needs to be booked in advance and is limited to 3 hours. You can however arrive by boat from Dartmouth or Cross by ferry from Dittisham. Well worth a visit.
Stunning location to visit on a sunny day - when entering you are provided with a map of the grounds and can visit various shops & facilities near the entrance or head over to Agatha Christie’s home for a room by room tour or the boathouse by the lake to soak in the dazzling view across the water! Further into the grounds you’ll find a greenhouse, gardens & spots to sit or relax as you make your way around. A good location to visit with family or dogs!
Really nice house with wonderful gardens. Please book a parking space before you come as you might be disappointed. National trust members get free parking. Lots of rooms that you can go in, you can spend as much time in them as you like. The grounds are wonderful, well looked after. You can visit the boat house, which is down a few paths (uneven). Great, nevertheless. All in all, great.
This is a really lovely NT. Beautiful gardens, lovely atmosphere, beautifully cared for of course and lovely buildings. I enjoyed seeing around Christie's home and playing a game of tennis in the gardens. The deck chairs are a lovely way to look over the Dart and relax.
Great morning spent at Greenway exploring the house, taking a leisurely walk in the grounds. Beautiful views of the river Dart. Very hilly so wear sensible footwear. Make sure you pre-book your parking and be aware of the very narrow roads.
We really loved Greenway the summer home of the author Agatha Christie and her family. The house has a nice atmosphere and is packed with the family collections of artifacts such as silver, china. The National Trust volunteers were very welcoming. We had a walk through the gardens which were vast and up at the top could see along the River Dart towards Dartmouth. We rode on the ferry to and from Dartmouth to Greenway and it was a really nice ride. Highly recommend both the house and boat ride.

1920s country house, now National Trust, of the Gilbert and Sullivan impresario, plus exotic garden.
Slide 1 of 8
I'm making use of a National Trust membership that was gifted to me and so it's my mission to visit any in the areas I find myself in. So far Coleton Fishacre has been the most wonderful one yet. I really enjoy the homely feel of the house, it feels grand but not too grand if you know what I mean. It feels like it would be a very comfortable home and not too stately. The 1920s styling is superb. The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful, on hand to answer questions and give a demonstration of the servants bell system. There are free lockers provided outside the building but under a covered driveway for leaving bags and backpacks. The gardens, my words won't do it justice. They are simply stunning in mid June, the colours, the water leading you downhill to the sea. Magical. The paths are all downhill towards the viewpoint on the cliffs and are steep in places. They'll put your legs, back and fitness to the test that's for sure. I had a coffee and the most delicious flapjack at the NT cafe, do stop by to build your energy either before or after the climb up and down the paths. A magical place that will stay in my memory as a highlight of my Devon holiday for a long time. The road there was very narrow with lots of passing points but can be a little unnerving for even experienced drivers, expect to have to reverse back to a passing point.
A very nice house with stylish 1920s–30s character, well worth a visit. Parking is easy and free for members. The house itself is interesting, and the grounds are beautifully kept, though being on a hillside means some of the paths are quite steep. The walk down to the cove is absolutely worth it for the views—though the climb back up is a bit of a challenge! The café has a good selection, with lovely-looking toasties and baked potatoes. I tried the pasty, which felt rather undersized and a little underwhelming in comparison, but otherwise it was a pleasant stop. All in all, a great day out.
My favourite national trust property. The house is interesting with fabulous views and information about the family. The garden is wonderful and has stunning views to the sea. Cafe was excellent too. On sunny days maybe get there early. Highly recommended. Can easily spend best part of a day here.
A truly beautiful and tranquil home that is nestled into the landscape. The house is in an exceptionally good condition and the National Trust has maintained it perfectly. Beautiful building, beautiful gardens and wonderful staff who are on hand to answer all of your questions.
At the end of a narrow country lane you'll find this lovely 1920s property. It's national trust so the staff and volunteers are friendly and patient, the cafe is solid and affordable. House itself seems to have changed a little from last time. I remember the Gilbert and Sullivan connection being more prominent on my last visit about 12 years ago. Gardens are as beautiful as ever. Must visit if you like 1920s style and beautiful gardens. Maybe a little less interesting for smaller children
Now this is more like it, nice house to look at and lovely gardens to walk around with some amazing views plus you can burn a few calories off climbing lots of steps (if you want to of course) ready for a relaxing coffee and cake treat. Definitely had a good day here 😁
Absolutely love Arts and Crafts styling and architecture, so Coleton Fishacre was an easy choice for a trip out. It is the sort of NT property that you could easily live in and enjoy the superb garden. The planting style and bed construction is very similar to our own at Mowhay and we left with a few ideas. Food here was a little expensive but reasonable in quality. The walk back up from the South West Coast Path is quite steep in places so if you aren't too good on hills give it a miss, but actually all the garden you need is quite near to the house. Absolutely love the plant identification boards, great idea!
Well worth a visit. A really nice property that is set up as its main era which is great to see. Lots of knowlefgable staff. Great tours of the gardens. Stunning views well maintained gardens

The woodlands has got family orientation in mind with the theme of the park. There is lots to do for the children. Multiple outdoor play areas located over the park, for both toddlers and big kids who are always on the go. There a big indoor soft play area that is 5 stores high! My daughter loved it. There are rides located around the park. If your looking for the latest & super fast rides, you need to got to Alton towers or somewhere like that. The farm area was cool, special as you could get close n feed some of them. Bird of prey section was interesting and amazing on how close you could get. Food here is limited and expensive but nice to eat and cooked, fresh to order. Overall, my family enjoyed going there and we did camp there awell. If you got a young family, give this place a try.
Fantastic day out for our 6yo and 9yo. So much to do although top hits were the 3 water rides and the sledge like rides! Adults enjoyed them too. Highly recommend the 7day pass if you're around for a while as good value if you go several times - great for wet days too with soft plays to go in. Staff were always helpful. My only criticism is no prices on the ice creams and we weren't told the amount when paying. We would definitely go back again..
What a great day out for adults and children. Admission in advance was £17 and a few pence per person and once inside the park food and drink was also very reasonably priced. Selection was burgers, fries, hot dogs ,wraps etc. There was a small selection of farm animals to feed and observe and a large indoor play area for if the weather doesn't cooperate. There was a card available on our visit that if you collected 6 stamps from the rides availability, a return visit after the school summer holidays is only £25 for upto 8 people. Overall a great day out and we are returning in September.
Great little theme park set in beautiful woodland on the side of a hill, as per the norm for Devon! Out of season and nicely quiet, with the vast majority of attractions still open, including farmyard and falconry along with the rides. Overall great day for 11 year old birthday and his buddies.
Such a beautiful place. I know it's not perfect but you get so much value for your money. The food it's not the best, regular fried food but the prices are decent. They could do with more cleaning in the indoor areas but as mentioned above for the money paid I can't complain. We will visit again for sure, it's one experience which really worth doing it with the kids.
Great family park which is spread out with some good attractions. Massive soft play which alone is worth the visit. The raft slides had the longest queues but everything else was easy to get on to and do.
Tickets you could change to give you a weeks worth of entry. Enough to dp to keep kids entertained multiple times. Probably the biggest indoor play area i have ever seen and another indoor play area with air guns alot of fun. The slides were really good and got absolutely soaked multiple times. Toboggan only got chance to do once due to weather but was also fun. Would def go back again and also had a farm with a mixure of animals to look at also. Highly recommend.
When we first went in we went to straight to soft play as it was raining .we arrived around 9:30 so everything would of been open right ? Wrong . We waited around 9:35 to get into soft play whats not bad but what is , is when kids in my family went to play they didn’t let them in because they “could not find the lights “ . Something they do everyday . So we waited ages then got told that the rides open at 10:00 am . So we waited ages but then they said we could go on the rides , we went on the drop tower in soft play as the main bit was not open yet . It did not open until about 10:20 . The play areas look abandoned at some points and the whole area looks like someone thrown loads of ideas but just mushed them around . The tractor ride definitely needs an update . It took ages to get on , although the staff member was the only one smiling. . My child’s idea what I think might be good but doesn’t make that much sense, if that the theme park got frozen in time and the animals are trying to get to the homes , but the pirates are trying to take over 😂.The place does definitely need an update . The water slides you definitely get VERY WET. We waited ages for some of them just to get soaked . The staff except for one were not very good and honestly made the experience not good . They weren’t smiling , did not talk and made one of my kids have to pay for a drink even know she just wanted a twix. There are a few outdoor drop slide what I personally think need an staff or atleast cctv. Because it is very dangerous if you did not read the instructions as it is under six , but I saw some 3 year going down it and getting a lot of friction burns . There was also a blue one in the ninja area what was very bad . Instead of sliding you just fall . You are supposed to have a mat but when someone did not care about the rule they did it perfectly fine . It was around an 8 foot drop and no staff in sight if someone got hurt . Overall , it was a quite good experience if you like slides , if not maybe not as much . In some place it definitely needs an upgrade and way better slides

Shingle beach in a sheltered bay, with sandpits, bathing raft, kayaks, cafe and summer lifeguards.
Slide 1 of 8
Such a beautiful beach. I think the best thing was that isn't any sand , just small and big pebbles but still very comfortable to sit and walk. The water was very clear and the beach has lifeguards on duty. The parking it's not crazy expensive and you have toilets and changing cubicle and also showers ( cold water only).
Really nice clean beach. We arrived at 11.30 parked behind the cafe (photo of reg plate on arrival, pay before you leave) Toilets are available and free to use. The beach consists of mainly of small pebbles. A walkway is provided. It's a fair size beach and flanked by hills on either side. Its a very pretty location with a nice cafe/restaurant. I will definitely come again.
Great beach in a lovely setting. The beach is easily accessible from the car park. Paid parking is provided. It is not a sandy beach but a gravel one.
Fab beach with easy parking, small stones that are easy to walk on, lots of water activities to enjoy and a Sauna to hire 💞👍🏼. What’s not to love. No horrible sand to get rid of afterwards either. 😅
Nice clean beach, well maintained, large car park, cafe on site. The waters edge is a good walk as the beach is so wide. Also shingle beach so take suitable footwear, no sand!!
The parking charges are a bit steep, but if you stay over 3 hours it's £9 for the day (as nest as I can tell). There is lots of parking which is well managed during the peak season. There is plenty of space on the beach and it is generally well sheltered. There are good food and drink options on site with plenty of picnic bench seating outside. It is really clean and tidy. A special call out for the board walk they have installed to get from the entrance to the front of the beach. Makes using buggies etc. much easier. Yes, the beach is not golden sand but fine shingle but complaing about that would be like complaining That the white cliffs of Dover were "too bright". The beach is a product of geography and geology.
Not sure about 'the ultimate beach experience' (like they say on the signs) but its pretty close 😁. Visited on the August Bank Holiday and its busy but definitely not Bournemouth busy. Its a very small pebble beach, so no sand getting everywhere but you can't make sandcastles. It shelves quite quickly into the water but it is RNLI patrolled. Great beach store for all the beach essentials. There's also a hire store for paddleboard and kayaks and even a free automated air pump for blowing up boards. Restaurant is really good and great value. Smash burger and fish burger were amazing.
Great beach and views , good parking facilities, beach restaurant and shop , only downside it’s a pebbled beach (which we new ) bit tough on our feet🤦‍♂️, would recommend a visit , we went in school holidays 😎

Beautiful castle and a wonderful few hours to spend. Staff were lovely and so friendly, plus the English Heritage shop was worth the visit too. We took the ferry over and this was a lovely experience.
Great place to come and see. Well appointed inside and some fantastic views. There is not a lot of parking available onsite. Some lovely spots to picnic and have some longish walks along the coast.
A wonderful experience to visit this ancient castle going back to 1388! Fantastic views of the estuary and Dartmouth town from here. You can get a small boat from the town to the castle and a return which makes the visit even better. Walking time is about 20 minutes. It is also possible to park next to the castle but spaces are limited but there is a car park near by. Stunning place and highly recommended!
Great place to visit for all ages. Took the lower ferry across the river. Lots of great information boards and things for the kids to touch/experience. Awesome views across the river. Cafe on site and lovely people/guides who were very friendly. The church at the end was beautiful and was a somber moment for all that have departed this life. Would recommend for family's to spend a couple of hours here.
One of the most stunning castles in Devon. The views are absolutely stunning, gorgeous coastal walk to sugary cove. Have been quite a few times and it's breathtaking. The cafe is ridiculously expensive though and parking is very limited with only 5 spaces
Welcoming the returning sailors or defending the town Dartmouth castle remains today a distinctive fortification matched by its twin on the Kingswear shore. A good walk down the River Dart from the town centre you can refresh and refill yourself at the welcoming cafe. From the castle rest and enjoy extensive views seaward and watch yachts coming and going. Children will enjoy exploring the castle and be refreshed for their townward return walk. You can drive out to the castle but the road is narrow and parking limited. Toilets are available for the visitors.
We had a lovely visit to the castle, exploring the different eras of its history and development. The views of the castle from the water are absolutely stunning. For families with two or three children, the family ticket offers good value. After visiting, it’s well worth taking the small boat over to Dartmouth—a perfect way to round off the trip.
It's a small defense castle with old canons on display and a small church attached. Great views of river mouth and the sea .It's about a mile from Dartmouth town centre, walkable or there's a little boat ferry for a small charge. Cafe on site and public toilets across the little car park.

Couldn’t agree more with the reviews here. Those of us coming down to the river from elsewhere are all here for rest, relaxation and fun. The teams in the office and on the river both contribute massively to that with their happy, Devon helpfulness!
Arrived in the dark on an 11metre yacht. Notice in inside pontoon says £2.30 +.85 harbour dues. Paid mooring fee the next day £47.52! When I queried the difference, I was told that the prices had gone up. So why is the old price still clearly visible on the notice board? Considering the lack of facilities (toilets/showers) the new price is unacceptably high.
What a fantastic team, we had no engine the other day, called them up for help, sailed into the entrance where the patrol boat towed us to a jetty so we could get things sorted. All the crew were so helpful and friendly, gave us loads of advice and tips on places to visit in the harbour, we will definitely be aiming to get to Dartmouth again. A huge thank you from us all aboard Quicksilver.
Well organised and efficient. Harbour patrol and yacht taxi very good. Lovely location. Special mention to Diane in the office who is above and beyond helpful. Also Josh on the harbour patrol who helped us with a heavy delivery ( not a big baby). Attitude one of being helpful. Thank you so much.
Many thanks for a prompt response to my running mooring. Mikie solved the problem very swiftly
Great bunch of guys out on the river. Thanks for everything.
