A really beautiful decorated restaurant with amazing service. We had the Frito misto which was made up of different fish which was beautiful battered. The complimentary bread and olives to start were SCRUMPTIOUS!

One of the greatest meal we had in a long time - cod loin was served like we have never tasted before! The monkfish was so out of this world! Everything was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is in the fishing business - so they serve the freshest fishes we had in a long time! And OMG these scallops - I could eat a mountain of those! Fresh! Must! We adore this place and its service! Food that is brave!

Absolutely fantastic meal. Took us both to Italy. Everything was wonderful. Very special flavours. One of the best meals we have had this year. My Ray Wing was exceptional. Will now make this one of our regular restaurants. Only sorry it's taken us so long to go. Service was exceptional and very informative. Added photos from our recent return visit in October. An impeccable dining experience that prioritises local products, cooked to perfection, and served thoughtfully to preserve the intrinsic flavour of the finest seafood. My partner and I shared the whole turbot which was cooked to perfection and served very elegantly by the staff. The service and atmosphere created a dining experience that was thoroughly authentic, reflecting the local culture. Having dined here a while ago, I sadly can't remember the name of my waitress who was attentive, self-assured and was the cherry on top of our evening.

A marvellous experience. All the dishes were delicious with beautiful aromas and flavours that have depth and character. I particularly enjoyed the scallops and unexpectedly, the chicken lovers presented as a minced dish on crunchy toast was exceptional. Needless to say, the charcoal cooked fish was super. Wow, what a fabulous meal! 12/10 would recommend. A beautiful restaurant, with a cosy cocktail bar upon entry. The waiting staff were all friendly and helpful, and helped us with their recommendations. Fish was clearly caught fresh, and the daily menu is based on the fish from the market. We started with the scallops, which were sensational. The best I’ve ever had. And we then shared the monkfish - 100% worth the price, the best fish I have ever had, cooked to perfection on the grill. And I would highly recommend the fried zucchini. Unforgettable dinner, thank you!

Great restaurant for fish - best we know in the UK at fairly "reasonable" price. Clear recommendation. Had the catch of the day, the "Sole". It was the best sole I had since years, just absolutely fantastic. Only slight downside: Service was very friendly but slow. Even when we mentioned to be under a little time pressure, it did not help to speed up. So bring some time, but it's worth it.

Lovely food. Good service. It isn’t cheap but I didn’t find it gratuitously expensive considering the quality and freshness. Lovely relaxed dining experience too, good friendly atmosphere. We had a fantastic meal at Rockfish in Dartmouth! I ordered the fish and chips, which came with unlimited chips, a brilliant touch. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, with a light, crispy batter. My whole family enjoyed their meals, and there was something for everyone on the menu. The service was another highlight. friendly and super cheerful throughout our visit. It made the whole dining experience feel even more welcoming and enjoyable.

Great little place serving delicious food with friendly staff. Decent kids menu and a lovely location right on the riverfront. We just wanted normal fish and chips so this cost quite a bit more, but worth every penny.

We had a fantastic experience at Rockfish in Dartmouth. Joanie was our waitress and she was incredible, very knowledgeable about the dishes and catches of the day, she made our experience so memorable with her humour and attentiveness. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends… We had oysters and prawns to start, and lobster and prawn tacos for mains - all absolutely delicious. Thank you again!

We really enjoyed our lunch here. They serve excellent and fresh fish cooked simply. If you are expecting lots of complex sauces and combinations this isn’t that, but great and fresh produce cooked simply to let the flavours shine. Dover sole cooked in butter, shell on prawns, spider crab croquettes, cockles and hake all really tasty. It’s all about tasting the fresh fish. Not cheap but you understand that sourcing fish this fresh isn’t cheap. Very child friendly. My daughter loved the prawns and sole.

We had a fantastic meal here. From the service to the food, everything was great. The table had lemon sole fillets, monkfish tail, ray wing and the cuttle fish and each one was enjoyed. Can thoroughly recommend the ray wing. Thank you!

Currently on holiday in Dartmouth, wanted a meal out & after reading reviews, decided to try Kendricks... well it was definitely a good choice!! Not had a meal out this lovely in a while; meal portions were just right, the staff were very welcoming & charged reasonable prices. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone undecided!!

We booked in advance for 6pm when doors opened, we were 1st through the door, we were shown to table and chap took our order, further customers came and were served their meals... we were still waiting, it was only an observation a lady member of staff, that prompted the chap... they're still waiting for food! He did come to us, and say that he'd 'forgot to put our order through to the kitchen'. He was to be fair most apologetic, and took the cost of my wife's wine off the bill! When the food did arrive, both our meals were fab, and they didn't skimp on the portions. The restaurant decor was quirky... but Tasteful! This was our first meal at Kendricks, and even after this first 'Outing' we would still recommend anyone to go! I know customers will say... everyone makes mistakes, but in the spirit of an honest review... That's what we believe we've done!

Perfect. Great service, amazing food with super portions. Well priced and fantastic atmosphere. Cannot recommend enough. I was blown away by the food and what was even better was no service charge so that I could tip directly to staff for an amazing dinner, served by helpful, smiling staff.

After being turned away from four other venues in Dartmouth simply because we had our dog with us, we were lucky enough to stumble upon Kendricks – and what a fantastic find it was! Not only did they warmly welcome our dog, but they went above and beyond to accommodate our group of six. The staff kindly arranged tables so we could all sit together comfortably, even offering a chair for our sprocker to sit alongside us (though of course, no food at the table for her – which we wouldn't allow anyway). It was such a refreshing change to find somewhere genuinely inclusive of dogs and considerate of their place at the table. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting, and the customer service was top-notch – our waiter was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The food arrived hot and beautifully presented, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We can’t recommend Kendricks highly enough – a real gem with a welcoming atmosphere, great food, and exceptional service. Dog owners, take note: this is the place to go in Dartmouth! Thank you Kendricks we will definitely be returning 😁

Another great visit to Alf Resco’s for brunch. It’s good enough to generate a queue. We had excellent coffee, fresh orange juice and a mix of great breakfast goodies. The Sharpham Open Toasted Ham Sandwich was a highlight, as was the BLT with a fried egg. Great place, dog friendly, but expect to queue for your food.

Vegan Breakfast was a little small and a bit bland. Two toasts would have been great for £12. I found the staff were excellent. Friend had the Big Alf’s breakfast and he said that was good. Thanks though guys.

Very popular for breakfast/brunch. Get there early-ish or be prepared to wait as they don't accept bookings. Remember to look at the specials board as dishes like Eggs Benedict are not on the normal menu.

Beautiful breakfast place to start you off with you day. Everything is freshly prepared and delivered with care. The staff are friendly and polite. Definitely recommend the full English breakfast. It’s a classic but it’s worth every penny

A nice setting. Very small inside and staff are keen to have you sit outside. The food and drinks were nice, albeit a little on the expensive side. The experience was slightly ruined by the cold welcome. It’s basic politeness to smile and say hello when a customer enters your establishment. Instead, we received a firm face and a “yes…?!” I must say, it made us feel like we weren’t welcome. I could no more say that to a customer than fly. The young lady was polite. I got the feeling it was the owner that was the cold one. If correct, she should know better.

So me my mum and little boy visited today. We sat down in this very nice cafe. The staff were delightful and very polite. We ordered lovely food which came very nicely Presented. My little boy then proceeded to be sick which wasn’t a shock because we didn’t think he was quite right in the morning. The staff were amazing they helped us clean up and helping my boy change his clothes. They never once made us feel guilty! Amazing place, amazing staff and amazing food! Ps this was not food poisoning.It was a sick bug! Thank you!

So quirky inside, very cosy, the big breakfast was all it promised and so tasty the local sausage and tasty bacon,2 egg,hash brown, mushroom, tasty grilled cherry tomatoes, beans ,choice of toast , gave hog a miss , personal choice , was very hearty and good to eat . Tea refill was appreciated. Staff all very attentive but not intrusive. 2 shots in my partners coffee was standard and much appreciated. All in all highly recommend food and service great .

Visited for a meal while on holiday in Dartmouth. We were recommended to book a table, and glad we did. Every table was in use with a wonderful smell of all different dishes making us hungry. Once we'd ordered at the bar the food came promptly and piping hot. The aroma wasn't fake, the food was wonderful, tasty and generous potions.

Lovely pub situated right next to the river Dart in Dartmouth. We were stopping over in the town overnight so decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. We checked out a few of the pubs in the town but this one seemed to have the best menu despite being what we thought was a little pricey. We both ordered the moules frites priced at £25 which is way more than I would normally pay for this dish however, given the location we figured we would give it a go. We ordered at 4pm and waited around 20 minutes for our food which gave us plenty of time to enjoy a couple of the local ciders. When our food arrived my wife's came out first as a gluten free option and a chap on another table asked if it was a sharing platter as it was an absolutely huge portion. Then mine came out and the chap couldn't believe his eyes and neither could we! As you can see in the pictures they didn't skimp on the portion size at all which was grand for me because I absolutely love mussels. The dish itself was perfectly cooked and there wasn't a single dead mussel or grain of grit inside to be found. It's also worth mentioning that the staff (who were lovely and friendly) brought out a couple of treats for my canine companion which always makes me add extra points to these reviews. The ciders we had were top notch too. We will definitely visit again next year when we are down Devon way.

Visiting whilst on holiday and needed a quick bite to eat after a long journey. We did have our baby in a small pram, locals refused to move their chairs to let me through but that's not the fault of the pub itself. That's just why I put a 3 for atmosphere. We weren't made to feel welcome really. All tables in restaurant area were reserved for 2-3 hours later. We found a large table at the very back. We would have been eaten and out before the 2-3 hours so unsure why we were not allowed a smaller table for an hour. The food itself was lovely but in my opinion, overpriced. £20 for a salad is crazy! So I chose just a starter, portion was good. Gent serving made us feel welcome though and was friendly to the baby and had some good banter and jokes. Would recommend but just be prepared to pay a lot out!

We have dogs, so only the outside tables and the bar area were open to us. No problem, we got a table right next to the bar but with sufficient space to keep the hounds safe. Dogs get free refills on their drinks! Food was exceptional, we both chose from the special board and the only complaint was that the portions seemed too generous. OMG, how can we eat all of that? we thought, well we gave it a good seeing to and doggy bagged about one third of a rack of ribs, lunch tomorrow. The staff are lovely and so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Being by the bar, we saw how they looked after everybody, all while dealing with a lot of customers (sunny Friday evening). The food is outstanding, best scallops I’ve ever eaten and my wife loved the barbecued rack of ribs. Not the cheapest place in town, but weighing up quality, quantity and price it is probably the best we have had on this visit. Rejigging our schedule to visit again. Recommended!

Fantastic restaurant lovely food once you book it it's yours for the night no second sittings on tables I had the pleasure of getting a table here for Dartmouth Regatta was a lovely dining experience I really struggled to get a table booked here yet on the Saturday they had lots of cancellations at short notice because the racing had been cancelled because of bad weather and obviously many yacht crews had decided to go home which was a real shame for this restaurant because it is so small they rely upon every one of those bookings turning up to keep them in business

Lovely location upstairs with a view overlooking the harbour. Not a huge restaurant so staff were very attentive. Our food was perfect. Good mix of choices on the menu. A very enjoyable evening.

We were impressed by the prompt friendly service. The food was exquisite and beautifully presented. It’s a small and expensive restaurant so for special occasions (most of the tables were there for a birthday). Also well situated with an impressive view of the river Dart. 10% recommended!

Be aware: We were staying in a accommodation that had overbooked, which meant that we had to leave one day earlier than expected. We had no alternative but to drive home - we couldn't just hang around Dartmouth with nowhere to stay. We gave Taylors as much notice of cancellation as we got of having to leave, but Taylors charged us £40 for the cancellation. It was half-term week and every other restaurant we had been to prior to this had been fully booked - signage outside - so I would imagine that our table for 2 would have been filled. It just sticks in the craw getting punished for something completely beyond your control. In answer to your response: There is no point discussing it because there hasn't been a misunderstanding. Its not like we didn't show up. We gave you as much written notice as we had, when we were suddenly told to vacate our double-booked accommodation. I just wanted to bring to potential customers attention that if: They might be involved in a car accident OR One of their group might fall ill OR Weather issues might cause transport issues OR like us, we had to depart our accommodation unexpectedly because it had been double booked, THEN, they will forfeit a minimum of £40 - for 2 persons (more for a bigger party). This is just a warning that if a life event happens, and don't they just happen at the most inopportune times, then they are going to be gifting you £40 minimum to keep the Range Rovers purring over. This really spoilt a lovely break to say 'goodbye' to Dartmouth as a result of stage 4 metastatic bowel to lung cancer. Rockfish was great. Bayards Cove Inn was great. The highlight restaurant fined and punished us. I wish you all the success you deserve.

Lovely restaurant with very attentive service. Their special dish was amazing - lobster, prawns and scallops served in a lobster shell. Beautifully presented and great tasting. Perhaps my favourite place in Dartmouth so far.

*This is a review for dinner at the Bistro restaurant, not for the B&B (as we did not stay).* This restaurant had always been a firm favourite of ours in previous years. The ambience and cozy bistro vibe was a lovely point of difference to some of the other options available in Dartmouth. We were therefore delighted to see it had reopened. We were fortunate to be able to secure a table on the Friday of the music festival weekend, with Mick and Lucy playing. Wonderful to find the restaurant now being run by Maddie, who is clearly doing a great job. The ambience was exactly as we had remembered. We liked the new small plates / tapas model, which was helpfully explained to us and could get served / timed to our preference. We were relaxed about how / when the food was served, drinking the lovely wine and listening to the live music. We ordered lots from the new menu to make sure we had the opportunity to try as many dishes as we could manage! Three dishes per person (as initially recommended) is probably about right, though. The food was first class. Fresh, full of flavour and incredibly tasty. We had a lovely evening. Well done to the Chef, and to Maddie. We will most definitely return. (Oh, and Mick & Lucy were 10 out of 10, too! Please continue to have them feature at the restaurant!)

On our return to Dartmouth, we were delighted to see Anzac had reopened and we immediately booked for dinner. It was great to see the warm cozy interior had not been changed and it retains all of its original atmosphere. There is a new tapas style menu, which was well explained to us, and a good wine list. The service was warm and friendly and the food was incredible, really fresh with amazing flavours, and beautifully presented. Chef really knows his craft. If you are in Dartmouth and you love great food, then Anzac is a must. We will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed a superb meal here, of truly delicious and imaginative food. As it was the Dart Music Festival, there was also a very talented guitarist to entertain us. The only downside was the food took a while to arrive, as the restaurant was fully booked that evening. I am sure that will improve. Nonetheless, we would dine there again.

A friendly welcome and a beautiful large room on a quiet street in the middle of town. Parking was easy as advised by the owners and breakfast was fresh, quick and delicious. Will happily stay here again.

An exceptional restaurant that I had the pleasure of dining at last week. The pan-fried scallops I had as a starter were perfectly cooked, with a delightful garlic taste that complemented their natural sweetness. The mushroom risotto for the main course was cooked to perfection, featuring a balanced and creamy texture with rich earthy flavours. The wine selection is also excellent; Flo quickly recommended me a bottle to go with my food selection. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the restaurant had a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Anzac Street Bistro is a gem that offers a memorable dining experience with delicious food and warm hospitality!

What a find! We spent a very enjoyable and comfortable three nights in one of Mitch and Nicola's very comfortable rooms which we found large, quiet and spotlessly clean. We were made to feel extremely welcome and enjoyed great food. The restaurant was buzzing with very happy customers, always a good sign. The produce they use was of very good quality and large portions. We were sad to leave but looking forward to returning again soon. Thank you Mitch and Nicola for making our stay a very happy one.

Popped in while passing to grab a coffee and decided to have a couple of portions of chips & gravy (£5.50 each).....total of £16.50 for 2 white cups of coffee, 2 bowls of chips and 2 pots of gravy. Expect to pay slightly inflated prices due to location. Chips were ok, gravy was nice, and thick (which improved the 3 star to a 4).

We love going to Dartmouth and always try to stop off at The Wheelhouse for fish & chips. The fish is always excellent quality and prices are very reasonable. The last visit was in September and they had a small meal offer for £12.50. We chose this and they were excellent, just the right size for us, and we were still full! My wife prefers gluten free batter which is normally available. Recommend the Haddock & chips. Service is quick and friendly. We'll be back!

Fantastic fish & chips! The haddock was super fresh and perfectly fried - definitely recommend trying it. The restaurant itself has a fun, quirky vibe too. The signs for the gents' and ladies' toilets were really amusing and gave me a good laugh.🤣

Fantastic modern fish and chip diner and takeaway. Serves genuine fresh caught fish with really good fresh cut chips. Well worth a visit when you fancy some real fish and chips. Great.

This is one of many fish and chip shops. Find another. Ordered takeaway fish cake and chips. Had to wait which was fine. But the fish cake had obviously been sitting around and the chips were lukewarm. No excuse for lukewarm food which had been supposedly cooked to order.

Less than half full. 5 of us (and well behaved dog) wanted to spend money on lunch but turned away because there was already one (v small) dog in the (large) restaurant area. So we spent our money elsewhere in the town!

Great little pub, nice atmosphere and food was A1. Small menu but perfectly cooked and ample servings. Only a few people in the bar the night we were there, but people in very friendly. If you struggle with mobility the toilets would be difficult. Nice selection of beers. Very dog friendly,

A beautiful pub located in Dartmouth. It is small, with only about 7 tables, and I was very lucky to nab a table so that I could order some food. Only one member of staff working one small bar so you have to be patient as she also has to go up and down the stairs for the food. A good selection of food available and as this is a CAMRA pub you have a good selection of real ales as well. I ordered the Hunters Chicken and had some Reverend James ale whilst I waited for my food. It’s a very friendly pub with an open fire, original beams and very dog friendly. My food arrived and I was very happy with how it looked. I was blown away by how it tasted and loved every single bite of it. The chicken was amazing, the bacon and sauce enhanced everything and I cleared that plate of food. Please remember that this is a very small pub, so like I did, give up your table once you have eaten and stand by the bar to enjoy the lovely atmosphere of the place and let someone else enjoy it as well. Highly recommend The Cherub.

Great pub up a flight of stairs from harbour. Small ground floor bar which makes talking to locals easy. Good choice of real ales all served as they should.be. Next time I visit Dartmouth it will be first place I go.

Single diner so decided to eat in the tiny restaurant upstairs. What a lovely friendly welcome, fantastic service, adapted to my diet. Tossed mixed salad for starters, large glass red wine. Main was superbly cooked fresh whole mackerel, salad and chips. A lovely experience. Thank you.

Nothing special inside but All you see inside were bunch of snobs, I was hungry but I can't be bothered. End of the day we all turned into ashes. Crowded. Good for the locals

Came here for dinner due to recommendation. It is a really beautiful old building with real character. It had nice beers and a fair selection of food. We shared a starter and then had some steak and chips plus hake and veg with 2 rounds of beer. The service was good and the quality of the food was good, with the steak being a little overdone. Overall a lovely experience. Recommend

Intimate, unassuming restaurant where the food is the focus. Small plates restaurant where 5-6 dishes per couple is ideal. Perfect for foodies who appreciate fresh, local produce. Sourdough Focaccia & beetroot were delicious.

EXCEPTIONAL!!! Devon's best kept secret. I nearly didn't want to write this review being completely selfish and keeping it as our hidden secret! We have now been twice and this restaurant easily smashes any other restaurant in Devon, even beating the Michelins. Yes, it really is that good. Every single dish is a triumph, with layers of flavour, amazing wine list, amazing staff and simply beautiful! It's like a tasting menu of tapas style food which is great for sharing. Amen

We have eagerly followed the journey of Andria for a while and were so pleased to finally visit - it completely exceeded all expectations! The food was excellent, exceptional quality and well thought out plates. The experience was one we won't forget for a long time, neither the delicious scallops! Being a Brixham girl myself, you certainly did them proud! The restaurant itself is quite intimate so the spacing for my wheelchair was limited, however all of the staff ensured that my experience was the same as everyone elses. The restaurant is also level access from the pavement level so no additional ramps required for wheelchair users. We already can't wait to return.

Extraordinarily good. For £90/head we ate like kings, including a very good bottle of Champagne and cocktails (the bourbon sour is excellent). The service is wonderful, understated; our plates were produced quickly, even in the middle of a busy service. The flavours and presentation were sublime. 48 hours later and our party is still raving about just how good this little gem of a restaurant is! Every dish was perfectly balanced and of the very highest quality.

The Chef's table for my wife's 30th birthday was incredible - the best culinary experience we've had in years. Despite my wife's specific dietary requirements we were excellently catered for. Will be back again!

Oh, The Singing Kettle in Dartmouth? It’s like stepping into a tea-fueled fever dream where China pots and dainty cups waltz with tea leaf strainers for the freshest, leafiest brew you’ve ever slurped! We dove headfirst into the High Tea for Two, and let me tell you, our wallets are still giggling with glee—it was worth every shiny penny. The tiered stand rolled up looking like it was auditioning for a royal banquet. Sandwiches? Two choices to share, served with salted crisps so posh they probably have their own postcode, and a salad that whispered, “I’m healthy, but fun.” The scones—warm, fluffy clouds of joy—came with clotted cream and jam so good we nearly proposed to them. Then, the cakes: my partner’s carrot cake was so moist it could star in a rom-com, and my coffee and walnut slice? It was like a nutty espresso party in my mouth. Bonus points for the fruit trio—strawberry, kiwi, and orange—strutting in like they knew they were the garnish MVPs. The staff? Absolute legends. The star? A French bloke who, I swear, sounded so Italian we half-expected him to serenade us with “That’s Amore” while pouring our tea. He and the rest of the crew were so charming we forgot how to blink. If cream teas are your jam (pun intended), The Singing Kettle is your comedy-tea-romance flick come to life. Run, don’t walk!

Looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat on a short visit to Dartmouth, I saw a sign pointing up a side street towards this delightful olde-worlde café and tea room. It's oak beamed and quaintly decorated with china ornaments and pictures, and suspended just outside the entrance, you'll spot the Singing Kettle, said to possess magical powers! It's obviously a popular place, because it was very busy; people were having to wait for a table, but happily not for long. It's also dog friendly. The couple who own the tea room were really charming and friendly, and made me feel so welcome. Service was quick. They do sandwiches, all- day breakfasts, jacket potatoes, and other light meals as well as sumptuous looking cream teas. Good selection of cold drinks, speciality teas and coffee. I ordered a pot of the traditional tea; it came in a lovely china teapot, loose leaf with a strainer, with sugar in a little hourglass, and it was very good! Had a jacket potato with prawn marie rose, fresh salad garnish, and coleslaw. Simple, but filling and very tasty. There are toilets at the back, up a couple of steps. This tea room certainly had a nice old-fashioned ambience about it. More than a bite to eat, it was a very enjoyable lunch experience! Would come again.

I personally think this is the best afternoon tea you'll get in Dartmouth, and it's always one of our 'must do's' every time we visit. It can get busy, so be prepared to have to wait for a table. The staff are really friendly. All of the china plates and tea cups add to the whole afternoon tea experience.

The Singing Kettle was at the top of our list when visiting Dartmouth, and it lived up to our expectations. We came specifically to try the cream tea, and it was delicious fresh scones, rich cream, jam and perfect tea. The place is warm, cozy, full of charm, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had such a lovely time and agreed that we’d be regulars if we lived nearby. I truly recommend!

Christine & Bruno welcomed us into their cosy cafe. It was a very friendly, relaxing atmosphere. You can see that this place is their pride and joy. My husband had the cream tea which he said was the best cream tea he had ever had. I had the beautiful coffee and walnut cake which was delicious! We are so glad we stumbled across this little gem of a place and would love to visit again some day. You must visit here if you are going to Dartmouth! Best ever afternoon tea. Not only do you select what tea, but also what type of sarnies, scones & cake you'd like. Quite brilliant. Variety of china used to serve it all, adds to the quaintness of the place. Lovely staff serving. Faultless

What a lovely, little hidden cafe. Welcoming our well behaved dog, friendly and great service. We had the cream teas which were gorgeous, warm scones, fresh fruit and lashing of good quality tea. We visited twice in a week it was so good.

This place surprised us in a really great way with the quality of food served. We visited Dartmouth many years ago when this was a very different restaurant (chips with everything). Now however, both my wife and I both agree we have had the best meals of our week long stay in this restaurant, and we've eaten in a lot of great restaurants while we were here. I definitely recommend the rump steak. Not only was it cooked perfectly (medium rare) but the flavour was possibly the best we've ever tasted... Truly delicious. My wife also had the skate wings and she was extremely impressed with both the quantity and quality, again the taste was incredible. We visited this restaurant twice, once at lunch time and once in the evening, both times the food was fantastic. The prices are far more competitive than anywhere else as well, so I definitely recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in Dartmouth.

Think this place is confused as to its target market. Popped in for a coffee to take in the river views to be directed to a table towards the road. We did push for a window view, which we did get. Services seemed overly attentive for what was just a simple coffee. The drinks themselves were very nice, food menu looked pricey for breakfast / brunch. It seems like the establishmemt would be better placed offering a high end evening service, particularly if it wants to justify a 12.5% service charge.

Absolutely love this place! The setting is stunning, right on the harbour in the old train station, and the food is just as amazing as the view. The roast here is hands down the best I’ve ever had – perfectly cooked and so much flavour. Friendly service and a really welcoming atmosphere too. Can’t recommend enough!

Nice place, but a 3.7 star rating? They deserve a much higher score than this BUT the negatives all mention poor service, namely around confusion over how to order or where to order. In hindsight, I did feel slightly unwelcome when I ordered a couple of drinks at the bar to take outside. My advice, just lighten up a bit guys or invest in some clearer signage 🙏

Popped in for a light bite and decided on the Brixham Crab Toast it was quite nice and tasty, however there must have been around only a teaspoon of crab mixed in with a brown mayonnaise which was spread over the sourdough, enough to taste of crab ( I had a piece of crabshell in mine) but not enough to say the crab ratio was enough. Staff very pleasant and attentive though

A unique restaurant overlooking the water, when we walked in we were treated with a friendly, happy team that made us smile. My husband and I both ordered the English breakfast...wow! Good quality meat, eggs cooked to perfection, couldn't have asked for me! Thank you Embankment Bistro, we will be back to try lunch and dinner too!

Lovely cafe; knowledgeable about GF and make substitutions. Had a pastrami bagel (but on a lovely tiger roll) and the children shared a salami and mozzarella one. Had a number of GF cakes (stored on top shelf above normal cakes) and were happy to make adaptions to accommodate

A really lovely deli and cafe just up from the quayside and well worth seeking out. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Interesting blackboard menu with deli boards, bagels and bruschetta. However we had the Devon cream tea and it was delicious. Warm, light, rich tasting scone, really thick clotted cream, and local jam, with a hot drink. A lovely holiday treat.

Lovely small cafe with a huge range of food and drinks. The presentation is very smart and the decor very rustic and classy. The flat white coffee was the best I’ve tasted in the area and we were all very impressed by the lovely Olive section in the centre of the cafe. I would highly recommend Smith Street Cafe and Deli to anyone who wants to have a relaxing drink and nibble in beautiful Dartmouth.

The cream tea is amazing! We did a detour just to have the fruit scones again before heading back to London. We also had lunch there and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Great local delicious produce, reasonable price. The coffee was excellent as were the Deli Boards that we had……didn’t have much room for desert but tried the sour cherry cake and lemon and Lime cake, so glad we did as both moist and very delicious. Would highly recommend

We go in here everytime we come to Dartmouth. The standard and choice of food is outstanding. The owners have meticulous attention to detail and are the perfect hosts. The selection of olives is wonderful and they also cater for gluten free customers. The coffee preparation is second to none and is always very tasty. They do various breads, a variety of which we had with our spicy soup which was up there with the best ever. It's not the biggest place and if you like privacy this is not the place for you. They have a selection of daily papers to read whilst enjoying a piece of cake or a breakfast or brunch....or just a refreshing cuppa. Anything goes!

Well appointed little deli. With a small space for inside seating and a little market with great local and international produce. We had two of their deli lunch boxes (fish and cheese) to takeaway for a picnic which were a little pricy but delicious. Wonderful to have the variety, instead of the usual tourist pasties/fish and chips.

Perfectly located next to the entrance to Dartmouth Castle the Tearooms provides a lovely location to sit outside and enjoy the view of the mouth of the River Dart and surrounding countryside. Was a little disappointed in the cake, it was very dry, perhaps a little on the stale side, which given the number of people was a little surprising, perhaps not a popular choice? And there were no prices on the selections in the cabinet, something that does puzzle me at times. The bacon certainly smelt wonderful, and the view was superb.

Looks lovely - but very frustrating that they changed the opening hours and don’t update Google. Planned a walk to the castle and back, expecting at least somewhere to get water and a snack when we arrived and they had shut at 2pm contrary to their supposed hour’s. Shop/ticket office doesn’t even sell water and there is absolutely nowhere else in walking distance. Maybe call ahead if you want to be sure it’s open.

Unfortunately they had run out of scones so no cream tea. Lovely views though. Nice stop mid walk from little Dartmouth.

Absolutely delicious cream tea and you get 2 fresh home made scones with your cream tea. Beautiful setting too. Highly recommend the scones. Far better than those we tried in cafes in town.

Twice we arrived 10 mins before closing, only to find everything cleared away and the staff no longer serving. Both times we only wanted ice creams for the children (who had run the last bit of our walk to get there on time), and both times the staff refused. Such a shame!!

A great little place which does exactly what it says on the tin, “fantastic coffee”. The bonus is they also do great cakes. It’s a simple menu but that’s all you need. Definitely recommend the basque cheesecake to go along with a nice flat white.

What an amazing little Coffee Shop! Really nice chilled vibe, amazing small choice of cakes, and the coffee is incredible. Beautifully smooth espresso roast, I had an americano and my wife a Mocha, which she said is possibly the best she has ever had. Definitely reccomment a visit! The basque cheesecake too was 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

The best coffee shop in Dartmouth. A fantastic cup of coffee! For the last 12 months or so I’ve only drunk black coffee so every coffee I now have varies a lot depending on the coffee bean etc. I can confidently say that this was one of the best coffees I’ve had! ( and I’ve had a lot ) P.s I hope you put that orange coffee on the menu!!

Cute little coffee house. Maybe seating for 15 at the most. Best coffee we found in this lil to town. Being from America, equals dark roast flavor. Yummy sunshine bread. Wonderfully delightful women at the counter. Very engaging and friendly. Enjoyed our conversation very much. Will definitely return while we are in town. Well worth a visit to see for yourself.

Fantastic coffee. Highly recommend the flat white and latte. The coffee itself really shines though, and pairs perfectly with the milk which I think I read was locally sourced from Dartington. Staff very friendly, calm atmosphere. Great charity shop next door too

Was only in Dartmouth for a week and had wanted to go to this coffee shop all week, came on the last day and it was absolutely lovely. The coffee is amazing, and the service is amazing. A really cosy, friendly vibe.

Absolutely love this coffee shop. Always pop in here when stopping in Dartmouth. So much better than the "chain" type coffee houses. They are great people & always willing to have a chat, their home made polenta cakes are devine! Forget the rest and try the best by stopping in here!

Fantastic little place for brunch, Simon was very welcoming and polite, the restaurant is cosy but very charming. They have a good selection of brunch options, alot more variety than most places. The food was delivered fast and was very tasty, perfectly hooked eggs, crispy hash and all really well seasoned, the coffee is also extremely nice and they offer vegan milk alternatives. Would recommend booking though as we got the last available table!

A first visit today for a late Brunch. Such a great place to eat, food was exceptionally good. Really interesting menu a change fron the norm, great ambience and good chat with the owner. Thoroughly recommend a visit. We will definitely visit again.

Incredible smash burgers. I went for a birthday meal and the food was incredible. Service was amazing also; the server was a really friendly chap who even bought me a cider as a birthday gift. Will be going back.

Stopped off while passing this place and was very pleasantly surprised with some excellent food and drink choices for brunch. The owner was friendly and genuinely invested in providing a great experience.

Went for Sunday lunch on first full day of our break in Dartmouth. We had roast pork for my wife and roast beef for me. Well cooked and nicely presented by friendly staff and Dartmoor Jail beer to drink. So nice came back on Thursday for evening meal. Again easy to book online. Whitebait starters, crab ravioli and fish chowder for mains and apple pie for dessert. Again with Dartmoor beer. Once again very tasty and good value. Thank you.

Great atmosphere, very expensive food (and small portions) The children's food portions were particularly disappointing...charging £10 for 30p worth of ingredients was insulting. The main menu food was tasty, but way too little of it and more expensive than you'd expect. We'll definitely come back for drinks as the atmosphere is great and the staff super friendly, not we won't eat here again.

Had a very enjoyable ale outside overlooking Dartmouth. Beautiful view from the terrace which was in welcome shade on a sunny day. Food looked nice but we didn't eat. Much better experience than the other place down the slope.

Excellent pub with really good food in Kingswear, just above the train station. Couldn't get a table anywhere in Dartmouth but the Ship Inn kitchen stayed open for us later than listed and bar staff couldn't have been more helpful or unflustered. Sat outside with views across the river. Lovely.

We have always liked this pub for a drink outside in good weather. Six of us had dinner there recently and we probably won't be eating there again. The ravioli was good, the seafood linguine less so. The prices are on the high side. What was really annoying was the cost of the wine. We all expect high mark-ups, but felt the price was preposterous. We should have checked before buying.

What a place honestly! I absolutely adore finding hidden gems in small towns and the Steam Packet Inn in Kingswear is an absolute delight. The staff is lovely and the food is delivered with incredible care and enthusiasm. They offer a variety of different deals so you’ll never miss out on trying different things from the menu. I highly recommend the chorizo and scallop bruschetta.

Not in Dartmouth itself, but just over the water in Kingswear outside the Dartmouth presvered railway. About as perfect as a pub you can get, 5 out of 5 stars for everything. Love it here.

Popped in for the 2 pizza and a side for £28 Definitely worth the money and friendly staff and good service.

We popped in for a drink between rides on the steam railway, I enjoyed an extremely nice pint of Jail Ale and a plate of tasty whitebait. Their menu is fish orientated. A small but cosy pub with friendly service.

Went on the train from Paignton to Kingswear. Once at Kingswear we needed some refreshment. The pub is lovely and has a great atmosphere. The staff are courteous and helpful. We didn’t have food so can’t really comment on that but the beer selection was great. Great for a pit stop before going back on the train.

So today my partner and I did the Dartmouth steam railway . On arrive to Kingswear, we decided to pop in for a drink and food. I’m so glad we came to the Steam Packet Inn, just a minute walk from the station. It’s one of the nicest pubs I’ve ever been in. The pub is a character. Very well decorated. Very happy and friendly staff. The pub is dog friendly. And the food is delicious. If coming to Kingswear, definitely the pub to visit.

A popular restaurant early on, on a Friday night in March. Service was really good. Food was both fresh, piping hot and enjoyable. Reasonable prices for the location, and being able to take your own alcohol without corkage, is a winner. Would I return? Without doubt

The food here was a very high standard with great service. We walked in on the off chance that they would have space and even though he was fully booked he accommodated us. The service was very friendly and food was prompt. The meals we had were full of flavour and even opened the eyes of our children who tried some different dishes to their usual Korma! I Couldn't ask for more. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here again.

Very nice food, and we love our Indian food. Good service, reasonably priced. Not licenced but you can bring your own if you wish. They don't make any additional charge for glasses etc. Would be happy to eat here again

I'm glad I didn't take any notice of the previous reviews for this hidden gem of a restaurant. Tucked away and not straight forward to find, this place was worth the effort. We ordered a range of vegetarian dishes and were delighted at the quality of the food and presentation. A complimentary dish was a pleasant surprise and was something I'd order in the future. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food. A lovely evening.

Not good Indian food. My standards are pretty high tbh, coming from East London I'm used to delicious varied Indian dishes designed to satisfy Indian palettes. This was greasy, low quality fare, each dish virtually indistinguishable, all containing the same oily flavour. I ordered from the vegan menu and I'm convinced everything contained ghee. If you have a curry once a month you'll probably be fine here but if you're a curry connoisseur then avoid.

We went to the Spice Bazaar on Saturday. What a great meal. I have to say I looked over some of the reviews and nearly didn't go. Thank goodness we did. We had a truly wonderful meal. Every dish was excellent, and,( and maybe this is their problem...)as close to 'the real thing' as I have tasted in the UK. If you want your standard Indian dishes then this isn't it. If you want a charmingly hosted meal and fabulous food then go to the Spice Bazaar.

Fantastic food. Not your normal indian menu. You can bring your own alcohol. It was very busy when I went and felt that the staff were a little overwhelmed. The service was a little slow especially paying the bill. All that aside I will be eating there again. I may order a takeaway instead.

Do not eat here!!! Booked table for 8.30 New Year's Eve, got there and no meat or chicken available!? if you knew you had a booking at 8.30 why couldn't you supply sufficient amount of food!?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic spot in the heart of Brixham! We had a brilliant meal at The Old Market House – the setting by the harbour is beautiful, with lovely views of the colourful hillside houses and boats bobbing on the water. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh seafood, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Service was top class, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We sat upstairs in the dog free area and really enjoyed the atmosphere – very relaxed. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Brixham. A real gem! Shout out to our server Joy, what an incredible person with great chat!

Well appointed restaurant/bar on Brixham harbour. Spacious dining area over 2 floors including a first floor balcony, with fantastic views over the quayside and harbour. We visited on a Sunday evening and it was fairly busy, but no wait for a table. Our steaks were cooked as requested and were tender and tasty. Meal was well presented. Service on arrival was a little slow but once we ordered the food arrived promptly. Would definitely visit again.

My husband and myself went in for Sunday lunch today and it was amazing. The quality of food and amount of food was outstanding. Excellent value for money and delicious. Service was very quick considering how busy it was and Analicia couldn't be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend the old market house, definitely worth a visit. 10/10 👍

Arrived for a couple of hours in Brixham and you guessed, it started to rain. Made a quick dash into the first place we came to which just happened to be Old Market House. So we decided to have some lunch. O/h had calamari with a sweet chilli mayo which he said was divine. I had a classic prawn cocktail which again was delicious. We both opted for the scampi and chips and it didn't disappoint. Prices are on the high side but well worth it. The appearance of Black Heart made the afternoon! Would we come again - absolutely!

We had a gorgeous meal couldn't fault anything. At a push only thing I would mention is wine a bit overpriced but hey ho we are on holiday 😀

We went for Sunday lunch on a very wet day in Brixham! Sunday Roast was amazing. Generous portions and a big bowl of veg to share and extra jugs of gravy. Friendly staff and good service. Great location in the heart of the harbour. We will return!

It's a beautiful pub right on the Harbour in Paignton. Wonderful views from upstairs. Unfortunately, you can not take your dog upstairs , but do allow dogs downstairs.. The staff were really friendly, which is a big bonus.. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was that I found my dish to be a little bit salty. I don't know if it was the fish or the sauce, and I would have liked a bit of greenery , like baby broccoli on the side. That will not put me off, and we will definitely visit again.

Visiting the area on holiday with a friend who lives close by, stopped yesterday for a drink, as it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. A good few choices of alcohol free lagers/IPA's as I was driving, and plenty more that did have! Staff, the atmosphere, and the setting made us want to come back, so we booked a table for the Sunday roast today. What an excellent choice it turned out to be. My friend was using a wheelchair and the access is unbelievably considerate. There is a lift to take you on the top floor so you can still enjoy a fantastic view whilst eating. Everything we had was beautiful, cooked and presented and so very tasty. Thank you to all. Will definitely be back again.

Great location overlooking the harbour with plenty of seats and tables to enjoy the view. It was good to have waitress service outside, more relaxing than having to order at the bar. Food was very good and wait wasn't too long. This was our first visit. Was very pleased to find this little gem and will be coming back for more.

My wife and I visited over the Bank Holiday Weekend and had a wonderful meal. The staff were great, and our dog was made to feel very welcome with a water bowl and blanket to lay on. The food was fantastic too, I would highly recommend a visit here.

Lovely gastro pub, great views/ location, and the food is delicious. Our party of 7 ordered different seafood dishes and every person was left so happy - the fish & chips were good and the seafood platter was good value. However the star of the show for me was the sea bass Thai cold noodle dish. Absolutely phenomenal. Light and perfectly cooked. Well priced spot for such brilliant (and generously portioned) dishes and it’s got a wonderful atmosphere with all the fairy lights. Only thing it’s is not the most extensive vegetarian selection (2 dishes on the menu), but expected by the coast. Service perhaps wasn’t the most personable but was quick. Will be back :)

The restaurant is lovely decorated, it all locked nice and clean and loved the vibes! Staff was friendly (specially the guy with moustache who brought us the drinks, always with a smile on his face!). Food was nery nice, we ordered the catch of the day and it was very tasty and well presented. We went with a dog and they had water and treats for them and we could sit inside or outside so great to have the choice speciallt because the weather wasn't the best! Price was very decent given the quality of the food. Woudl definitely recommend!!

We only stayed for 1 night but honestly treated so well by all staff we felt at home from arrival. Our room was compact but really lovely and had everything we needed. Food was excellent both breakfast and our evening meal. Loved all the little extra touches . Thank you

Had an absolutely wonderful meal here yesterday with the family. The staff were so accommodating and managed to squeeze us in early doors. Fantastic service, particularly Georgia who went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable meal for everyone. She was great with my little step-son :-) food was banging! Of course! Can’t comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay so giving them a five star based on the experience we had in the restaurant alone.

Wow, what a lovely lunch.. and decent sized too. The Crab sandwich was out of this world and the fish platter was equally as yummy. Great friendly service and atmosphere, would highly recommend.

I booked in very last minute to stay while attending an event in town. I didn't have high expectations - since it was the last available room, at the height of summer and in a very busy spot, but I just needed somewhere to lay my head, so wasn't too fussed. Honestly, I was so impressed with everything! The lady who checked me in was SO sweet (I think called Georgia?) - carried my bag, showed me all the ropes and bought up some milk so I could have a coffee in the peace of my room, before heading out. My room (Beaty) was adorable, and everything you'd want from a rustic, historic Devon building. Being the hottest day of the year, I expected to get little sleep, but found an air conditioning unit in the wardrobe. It didn't 'cool' exactly, but did blow air around well, like a big fan. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I had to prise myself out of it come morning but could have lounged for hours happily. Breakfast (included in the room charge) was delicious and very, very generous. I got the veggie breakfast and it was all cooked beautifully. There was also juice and continental options available to help yourself. I had asked for an early check in and late check out, both of which were not a problem, and actually (accidentally) arrived even earlier than my early check in slot and my room was all ready for me. A stroke of luck! The little touches were so thoughtful: individually portioned ground coffee in the room, special wipes to remove make up, locally sourced soaps and they packed me off with a 'goody bag' of local fudge and water, for my day ahead. All in all, I highly recommend.

We popped in for lunch on Saturday 9th Aug, lovely bar and dining areas. Ordered the kids a Luxury Hot Choc each and I had a G&T with some of the local "Jack Speak" gin, which is very nice indeed. The Kids really enjoyed their Fish & Chips and the Mezze Board. The Ham and Cheese sandwich was great too. Staff were amazing, really friendly and the service was excellent. Can't recommemd this place highly enough. Definitely returning when next in Dartmouth.

Food was lovely, and service was pretty quick as well. We had to sit outside as there were no seats available inside, we should have booked lol. Recommend the food, very tasty.

Had a fantastic lunch, today, with our large walking group. Wonderful service from all the staff , especially our cheery waitress. We received excellent care and attention. Nothing was too much. We can be a fussy crowd, but no one had any complaints. The food was top class. Thank you. Looking forward to another visit.

The service in this hotel is absolutely first class especially Leanne. The food is delicious… freshly cooked breakfasts and lovely heartwarming evening meals. The hotel is also in a prime location with views across the river. The rooms are big, well lit, lots of power points and a nice shower. The hotel needs some work and has an impending refurb but it maintains all of its character. We love it and will be back.

We enjoyed a lovely New Year’s Eve at the castle hotel. The restaurant, food and the amazing view of the harbour was just perfect. A very special shout out to Itor, who always makes us feel extremely welcome and definitely went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful evening.

Absolutely loved this hotel in Dartmouth. Prime location. Fascinating building. Perhaps not the best if you have mobility issues but the staff are so lovely that they do everything they can to assist which I appreciated very much. Just the one night stay for my sister and I but we enjoyed our visit very much. Our room was spotlessly clean. Fabulous bathroom. Lovely house keeping ladies. Both bar areas were friendly and really friendly. The bar/restaurant was full of character and we had the most delicious meal and we were looked after by a very efficient young lady, I think her name was Sarah, she new her restaurant well and was very efficient and polite to all of the guests. I loved it there and wouldn't want to go anywhere else when visiting Dartmouth.

Had a lovely breakfast in the castle with my son. Jody served us and she was exceptional! She was extra patient with my young son and went the extra mile to make him smile! The food was delicious and the castle had a cosy atmosphere. All in all can't wait to return! Jody also really reminded me of Monica from friends which made me laugh 😃

The freshest, most delicious and perfectly prepared seafood (3 sizes of prawns, and scallops) on a charming terrace full of personality with lovely staff. Even the white bait was outstanding. Great wine and desserts, too. Contrary to some recent reviews the service was excellent and on a busy Summer Sunday. I didn’t want to leave, but had to catch the ferry across the river to walk home.

Beautiful setting right by the waters edge, staff very accommodating as we hadn't booked and asked for a table during a busy lunch and they fitted us and another couple in. Our order was taken quickly, and the food came within 10 mins of ordering and was lovely. Well worth a visit (we'll book next time, too)

Amazing location with spectacular views, especially if you get a table for 2 on the balcony overlooking the River Dart. The food was fabulous, my wife particularly enjoyed the huge cracked crab salad.

The BEST whitebait I've ever had the pleasure of trying! We came at a particularly busy time, plus in a mini heatwave and the staff were swamped, you could see how busy they were, but they were incredible and so friendly!

We have been in Devon for a week and had some superb food but the meal here was just sublime. I had the ceasar salad with melt in the mouth fresh scallops and the crispiest pancetta. My son had lamb kofta and perfect French fries and my friend had haddock and chips. We all kept stopping eating to say how delicious the food was. The service was also cheerful and helpful and the views over the estuary were unbeatable. It was reasonably priced for the standard of food and rounded off perfectly with 3 delicious ice creams. Simply some of the best food I have ever eaten.

Great restaurant lovely sour dough pizza and beautiful wine selection. Sat in the early evening sun ❤️🥂 excellent knowledge of GF, staff immediately knew which dishes were suitable and knowledge of CC. They have a separate fryer. Batter for fish and chips is GF, as are chips, bread available for dishes. Even have sticky toffee pudding!

Six of us visited for Sunday lunch. Fantastic local scallops, followed by 3 roast Pork and 3 Roast beef. Very generous portions, beef cooked pink as we like it. Worth a visit.

Managed to get a table outside b6 the river amd weren't disappointed. The boss man has just taken over the place (having worked there for a while) and it was top notch 👌 Everyone ate all their meals. Will visit again when in Dartmouth.

Hubbys 70th birthday treat. Lovely food. Desert exceptional. Friendly host. Fantastic views over the river dart. Also dog friendly. I’m bringing my pooches next time. Would definitely recommend.

Overall a nice experience with very good food except one thing. The crab wasn't good, no big deal but felt as if we shouldn't have mentioned it .... just replace it please as we both thought it was off and a replacement of half a prawn cocktail isn't the same ...... samphire a delicious addition to the the scallops (tried all 3 and all fabulous) but please don't drown it in masses of salt. Overall good but a few tweaks and it will be amazing. Great location; I'd go suggest not having a tortoise in the window !

Our first trip to Dartmouth since lockdown. Our favourite cafe bistro was closed so we found Beth's Bistro. And what a good choice. A comprehensive menu and extras on a blackboard as well. We both had beetroot and feta cheese salad which was excellent. Very welcoming and good service. We will be back. Cullen Skink and a smoked haddock main dish look appealing. It was good to eat out after 107 days !!

Lovely location and very well appointed, however found it very over priced for the food provided. Very uncomfortable atmosphere as clearly not children or dog friendly. With lots of staff chatter about families taking up to many tables. Not professional at all. Ate and left.

Nice food in the restaurant, including Devonshire Pasties (like Cornish Pasties but with the edging on top instead of at the side). Downstairs is a takeaway with cakes, pastries, etc. Interesting history - it slopes due to subsidence hundreds of years ago (safe now I understand). Where is built is called the Butterwalk because in the past, butter, cream, cheese, etc., we're commonly sold in this area.

We were recommended the Sloping Deck by a shop assistant in the town. So we headed over for a spot of late lunch.. having found the entrance in the back of the bakery I should have known not to take the stairs up just from the look of the 1980’s sticky grubby carpet… but braved the stairs hoping the recommended good food awaited us…. The restaurant was dull, dark wood (age related so expected) with dark wood furniture, something you might see in a fawlty towers sketch… the waitress was attentive but not overly friendly. We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich which was very underwhelming and what claimed to be a Cottage pie. The cottage pie was just onion gravy (rib sticking sludge) with a sparse sprinkling amount of which I presume was meat… I think I found about 6 tiny bits suspended in the brown sludge.absolutely no veg at all. The potato topping was over worked glutinous potato with too much cheese on it. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever been served, I would say eaten but after one mouthful I just pushed it around my plate until it was acceptable amount of time had passed and we left. Please avoid at all costs! This place probably should be closed down. I guess unsuspecting visitors to the area keep it in business?

A cute little upstairs restaurant with its sloping floor, not too much that it’s off-putting. Good prices. Pop in for anything, it’s a moment.

Just popped in for a coffee and snack, but the service was terrible. Only a few people there but an order of Cappuccino x2 and Sausage Rolls x2 took ages, the sausage rolls came out first warm but soggy my wife found it inedible. The. The coffees, well downstairs (to takeaway) it's a proper 'bean to cup' machine and no doubt lovely, however upstairs it's a powdered mix which tasted awful. We left.

Worst in region. Pasties were repulsive and also tasted old. Jam donuts looked good from outside but were surprisingly very poor and oddly, dry. Overpriced overall. There are several much better takeaway options in Dartmouth. If you eat in, don't go in with any good expectations. Broken chairs need replacing before someone collapses and sues you. One lady serving was nice, but when she incorrectly undercharged us, the manager publically humiliated her. Bad behaviour in front of customers and obviously we paid the difference. However with hindsight, any workplace who publicly belittles staff should not receive any custom. If the food was nice, they might justify cruelty to staff - 1 star is a complement for this place. Gross, it's a rats heaven.

This is a lively little cake shop/cafe/ restaurant. We were visiting Dartmouth for the day and popped in for a Devon cream tea, but decided to have coffee with it instead. Downstairs is the shop part, selling endless cakes etc. The upstairs, is up very steep, narrow, leaning staircase, which leads into two different sections of the restaurant with chairs and tables on both sides. It is very compact as the whole building is leaning, but it doesn't feel cramped when you are seated at your table. Service was good and we could have shared a devon tea and it would have been plenty, as the scones were quite large and filling, and there was plenty of coffee in one pot for both of us. Overall a very nice place for a snack or lunch.

Certainly a place with character given the age of the building, but for those who wish to use the restaurant it certainly could be made more attractive with a refurbishement in keeping with its history. Couldn't fault the coffee and cake and the friendly staff though.

Stop for a pint and a bite to eat. Lovely pub, friendly staff and set in a lovely location. We had the Mussels, mmmmmmmm, they were lovely. We also enjoyed watching the rowing club practice on the river. Seagulls watch you very closely, one sniff f you leaving your table with plates on, and swoop! Staff must be used to them, as table as cleared super quick. Definitely will be back.

Enjoyed a fun evening sitting beside the river Dart in a large waterside patio with lots of tables and chairs freely available. Lovely view and inside it's warm and friendly. Comprehensive menus with food all day and into the evening. Served in the bars or in the spacious restaurant. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful.... even to a stranger like me!! I'm definitely going back and you should too....

Sat in quant dog friendly pub area across from more formal dining room. Very good food was clearly made by a chef who created novel twists on traditional fare. Will return.

A Hidden Gem Near Steamer Quay The Steam Packet Pub in Totnes is a fantastic find—just a 5-minute stroll from the Steamer Quay campsite. The food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. Whether you're just visiting or staying nearby, I’d highly recommend stopping by for a meal or drink. A lovely spot all around!

Lovely pub set on the river. The honey glazed ham sandwich came with some nice chunky slices of ham. The only downside was that the intransigent barman who insisted I pay for a replacement drink when he got my order wrong.

Not as impressed as I was led to believe food was great.. Ordered burger and chips, and ale pie. Omg chips on both dinners were so salty. Wasn't aware they would be. Pie mostly gravy , over priced and definitely not worth the money.

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and you could tell customers were enjoying themselves. We were however a little disappointed with the nacho starter. We thought they would be homemade nachos and not shop bought. The ingredients on top lacked luster too, as they didn't taste fresh. They should have been put in the oven really to melt the cheese. We definitely could have recreated this at home for less than half the price. The pizza was quite nice, but again expensive for what it was. We were a little disappointed as we were enticed by the reviews and Google images to try here.

Visited from Bristol! Was an amazing suggestion and just walking distance from Blackpool beach and Wild Comfort camping. Don't usually go for pizza but asked to combine both the pesto and goat cheese, this was a great pizza. Unfortunately the Lemon Posset let it down due not being set and the grainy texture.

Wonderful little restaurant in a gorgeous little village. The food was amazing and a good selection. I just had the fish and chips and the wife the halloumi burger. Good selection for the kids who enjoyed their meal. The atmosphere is really nice with good music and then the bathroom was a big plus for my 4 year old who loves Batman.

Local Gem! Lush barn with rustic tables, heritage walls and hanging lamps - everything is made to emphasise the beauty of a typical Devon cob building. Thoughtful menu to indulge omnivores and vegetarians alike. I had some of the most indulgent vegetarian main in my life - celeriac stake. Fish options were top notch as well. Desserts didn’t disappoint as well. Do pay a visit - very much worth it.

Booked here for Sunday lunch on way back to London. What a great decision that was. Hands down one of the best roasts I've had and I've had a lot over the past 40 years. Had ham hock scotch egg for starter which was incredible. Local pale ale was also a winner. Lady who served us was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. Look forward to returning there some day.

Really enjoyed our lunch. We booked a large party and were asked to arrive at midday sharp as there was another large booking already booked after us. We were a little disappointed that the food took a long time to arrive as it got a little tight as we had a river cruise booked but the quality of the food made up for it. Still 5 stars but it would have been even better if the food arrived quicker. We arrived on the first steam train in, only had time to eat and then river cruise. By time that was done it only left 45 mins before we had to get the ferry back for the last train back to Paignton and so if food came more timely we would’ve had more time to explore Dartmouth. Thank you for accommodating us.

Stopped for lunch staff were lovely friendly and helpfull the food was great and they also have a great Gluton free selection. Cod was super fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend

This Pub, until the staff moan about eating peas in their pods & a sausage roll from the village bakery. Don't get me wrong we, a party of 6 all bought drinks & sat outside to enjoy the sun. As we did we tucked into the local produce. WOW, the rude unphased bar staff stormed over to our party of 6 & the next table which was a party of 5 bashing gums about not eating your own food. Both parties bought drinks. No signs to state about food. We all got the point that pubs need you to buy food from them. However, not ALL pub food is suitable for ALL. I'll let you all think about that one. The location was busy & a hot day Dartmouth was hosting a LGBTQ + event this particular day. Although this establishment would tick all boxes for most. I would have a walk around & drink elsewhere

Bit of a shocker this one. Service ok. Went for dinner, very surprised at the positive reviews, definitely should have checked the photos of food prior. Expect high prices in most places for Devon & Cornwall but for the quality of food, never felt so utterly & completely ripped off. It was first of all rather suspicious that the word gourmet was thrown around on the menu a little too much, especially when it came to triple cooked chips which were clearly factory made frozen Wetherspoons style. This seemed to be a running trend throughout, all appeared frozen/precooked & just incredibly bland. £18 for a burger with less flavour than McDonald's, cold processed ham with yellow stains & battered fish that resembled boxed Birds Eye. All based in a rather odd eclectic decor reminiscent of a Kitchen Nightmares episode, felt like a canteen. It's rare I ever have an experience bad enough to post a review, but this was fully deserved.

We only live 50 mins away so from time to time we visit Dartmouth. When we do, we tend to head to the Dartmouth Arms for something to eat. It's a lovely pub with great service and wonderful food. They always make us feel welcome and have never left disappointed and will return again soon.

Good experience at the Dartmouth Arms. They have a GF part of the menu (small but varied) but when we said about coeliac it was taken seriously. One of the crew (Jaxon) was incredibly helpful and liaised with the kitchen about our order and any changes that could be made. Children had delicious chicken fajitas (are very little thing) and had an ice lolly included. I had a burger (only beef are GF) but a good variety. Overall, recommended and we would return. They take coeliac seriously and go the extra mile.

My partner and I traveled to Devon for a weekend away. My partner suggested the Dartmouth Arms after looking online and having good reviews, we thought we’d give it a try. We came for lunch on Saturday (yesterday) around 1:30pm. We sat across from the bar. My partner went up to order our food and the female staff member, bluntly took our order and then proceeded to tell her colleague “I can’t get anything done because as soon as I try, someone needs serving” in front of my partner - who was very polite. Obviously upset he sat down and we waited for our food. He had a pulled pork burger and I had nachos. The nachos were okay but the pulled pork was really not nice. It looked and tasted like it had been microwaved and was very watery and bland. Neither of us enjoyed our food but due to the unpleasant service we experienced beforehand, we couldn’t be bothered to cause a fuss. It’s such a shame as this cost us over £40 and it wasn’t up to standards. If staff were nicer, this could’ve been a much nicer experience. We have both worked in hospitality so understand how difficult it can be on a busy hot weekend. However, we are both very friendly people and did not deserve any rudeness whatsoever. We are very disappointed.

Nice welcoming pub! Not the most extensive menu but everything we had was cooked and served really well. The 'blue burger' with Stilton was the best I've had in a while and my son's pizza had a lovely baked base. Would definitely revisit. Thank you!

As a frequent visitor to Dartmouth this Pub has a sketchy reputation locally. My first visit a few years ago was greeted by the rancid smell of weed outside. It became apparent that it was a member of staff indulging himself with his weed. Move forward to tonight and decided to give it another chance. Upon arriving at 9.35pm we were greeted with "done last orders and the tills". Such a shame it's being run in this way as it's one of the best located pubs in the town.

After walking around Dartmouth for a bit we stumbled across thus pub and thought we'd give it a go. So glad that we did! The beer was out of this world, Dartmouth ale is now up there in my top ten! The food was brilliant and came out in good time, I had the mackerel and it was super fresh, served with new potatoes and a nice sauce. The two young lads behind the bar were a credit to the pub, they were very attentive and also had a good bit of banter about them which is great to see. The pub is clean, well decorated and cosy. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back

We were very pleasantly surprised. We opted for 2 starters each and they were a taste sensation in every way. The wait staff were really professional and knew about every detail of the food they served. Location is fab too. Would return, highly recommended.

Was really looking forward to trying this top rated restaurant but so very dissapointed. The main issue is that the restaurant has zero atmosphere, no ambiance or character at all. The service was very good and the starters were excellent. I however chose wrong and the lamb dish was not great. Meat was tough and the fat not rendered down properly. Desert was OK but not wonderful. For the price tag expected better. Shame.

The food here was incredible and the service was impeccable! We had the a la carte menu, everything we had was amazing but the scallops to start were a show stopper. Very nice and reasonably priced drinks were recommended by the staff who were very knowledgeable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an incredible lunch at The Angel of Dartmouth today. We arrived without a booking and were warmly welcomed — the service from start to finish was faultless. The menu was so impressive, it was hard to choose! We were tempted by the set menu of the day, but ended up ordering from the à la carte and were so glad we did. I had the Brixham crab risotto to start, followed by the halibut, and my husband chose the hand-dived scallops and the Devon lamb. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We shared the key lime tart for dessert — the perfect end to the meal. The sommelier helped us choose wine pairings that matched each course perfectly. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding. We enjoyed every mouthful and felt truly looked after. Highly recommend — this is a very special place.

Many thanks to Ellie and her team for the delicious birthday lunch! The new menu du jour option was a bargain we couldn’t pass up. Everything was delicious as well as beautiful. The starter Gougères were “to die for"; we just wish there had been four per couple; it’s difficult to share three. The English sparkling rosé was particularly good. We look forward to coming again!

We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every single dish. Elly was kind enough to let us swap the duck liver course for scallop. Our favourite dish was the sea bass, with the lamb loin a close second. The service was friendly and attentive. They do a lunch deal which looks like excellent value. Lovely location, and if you get a window seat you can see all the activity going on in the harbour. If you call ahead you may be able to get a private parking spot for £10, if not, it’s worth allowing a bit of extra time to find one- there are spots where you can get 2 hours for free, but if you are having the tasting menu you may want more time. The espresso was excellent quality as were the petit fours.

What a lovely find whilst visiting the area. We were so pleased we booked online 3 hours earlier otherwise we would have been disappointed not to get a seat. Food was amazing. The staff so lovely and it was all topped off with the beautiful location. It felt like being back at Lake Garda. We will be back again.

Lovely little shack down by the river, perfect place for a quick food or coffee stop on the way through. Best to find parking elsewhere though as parking nearby is expensive, although not thier fault as not connected to the shack. Came in September so probably not as nice as mid summer, but food was still very good!

The sunny day always helps but even if it were raining the food would still be great and the staff even better. A really lovely place with lovely people. Menu has great options but larger meals and lighter bites, best bacon and chili jam roll this side of Denmark! And if the sun is shining you have lucked out. I dare to say this may be the best place for a laid back meal in the sun by the beautiful river

the food is expensive, far too salty. we ordered three dishes, two were very salty, even the chips were salty, wrapped with salt. Quite disappointing . The view is great though. parking fee is 6 pounds. not cheap either.

Brilliant carvery, 2 meats choice of turkey gammon beef or pork today with lots of side dishes. Very nice open from 12 to 4 and if you want a take away carvery, bring your own plate and they will wrap it up for you to take away

Searched for the most highly recommended place for a carvery for Sunday lunch. This place seemed to be highly recommended. We were disappointed at best. The food was a very long was from spectacular and the pub itself was tired, cold and uninviting.

Never judge a book by its cover ! Truly lovely affordable carvery , beef , Turkey , pork , Gammon & veggies . Great Ale , Happy atmosphere & football on too ! What more could you want Brill ! A day to remember . Take a taxi parking is a no no because of small roads & double yellows . BUT That means you can have a few BEERS WOOP ! !

great caravan .. clubhouse n restaurant dated n needs re furb but decent pint n grub... lots of police presence for sum reason so be carefull if u have a beer or 2 n drive . why they hear driving round campsite every night i don't know..

The gentleman who checked me in was very courteous and explained everything clearly. The room is a nice size. Clean. It was quite bright and though it faces the street, there are two windows so the noises is quiet low and heavy curtains so the street lamps don’t bother you. The location is very good. It has food, drink and entertainment available downstairs.

The stay at Browns was great. Very warm, inviting atmosphere and staff, who made you feel welcome. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a really great stay at Browns. The staff all super friendly and can’t do enough to help, the food and menu choices are as good as it gets and the location so close to the waterfront is ideal. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

From the outside, Dart Café looks like a down-to-earth, no-frills spot. Step inside and it’s basic, bare, and honestly scruffy. The setup is minimal — just random tables and chairs thrown about, not exactly inviting. The man serving (who I assume is the owner) comes across rude and completely uninterested in customer service. I ordered a sausage bap for £7 — expecting at least something half-decent for that price — but what I got was genuinely depressing. He asked whether I wanted white or granary bread — I said granary — yet out came the biggest, cheapest white bap I’ve ever seen. Inside: two sad, tiny sausages rattling around inside the bread like loose change, plus a third pathetic chipolata thrown in like an afterthought. £7 for that? I wish I’d never handed over a penny to this bloke’s business. To make matters worse, the vibe inside was awkward — several reserved tables (despite the place being nearly empty), and other customers sat there silently, watching like I’d grown a third head. Not exactly welcoming. If you’re in Dartmouth and want a proper breakfast bap — save yourself the disappointment and head to Dylemma instead. Lovely little coffee shop, great baps at £3.50, lovely milkshakes, and customer service how it should be — friendly, polite, and actually pleased to see you. Wish I’d found them first — hopefully this helps others avoid the same mistake

I had a scone with cream and jam. I would travel across the pond again for it. Also a hot cappuccino. Delicious. Lovely, local flavor.

So glad we found this little gem. Full breakfast, scrambled egg on granary toast, flat white and redbush tea with oat milk.

Canny cuppa. Avoid the brownie it's just bad. You will be fine if the owner knows you. If you are visiting the area I would go elsewhere. Over fifteen customers (visitors on tours) where refused as they were told the tables were reserved but when locals came in they were told to sit anywhere as the signs meant nothing. Server of the day was quite rude.

Stopped by the Kings Arms and really enjoyed it. The lemonade was surprisingly good, refreshing, and just what I needed. Nice seating both indoors and out, and while the view was decent, it wasn’t quite as stunning as some nearby spots. Still, it is a solid place to relax with a drink! There is also work being done outside the pub.

We were walking from Torcross back to Stoke Fleming, so the King's Arms was in the perfect location for a pit stop. We've walked by on numerous occasions but were pleased we visited this time around. There were great views from the beer garden and plenty of seating.

We visited this pub at lunchtime on a sunny Saturday over Easter. It is in a stunning location, with a lovely garden. The interior is great too, with an upstairs dining area with huge picture window overlooking the sea. We didn't eat, but saw the high quality fresh vegetables being delivered and wished we could have. This is a pub run by community funding and really deserves your custom. Go there, you won't be disappointed!

Great community run pub with a good view and large beer garden. Good food and friendly staff. A short drive from Blackpool Sands.

Fantastic traditional pub Serviing excellent food. Best Stake ever sauced from local Farms. Great Team of young helpful Members overseen by a very professional Landlord. The combination works really well. Big bonus was this is a Community Owed and Run establishment. Lively Garden with outstanding views over coast and Country. The Views from the restaurant are exceptional. All in all a great place to visit and enjoy. If you visit the area without visiting this place The King's Arms you are missing out.

Popped in on our way back from Sidmouth, very welcoming staff. Food was excellent, also able to purchase a sausage for our dog. Exemplary service, finding a charger for my phone. Whole place was really clean, including the rest room facilities . The view is wonderful as well. Couldn’t ask for anything more. A real find, well worth popping in if you can.

Run by a friendly family we have been eating here once or twice a year for several years. The food is always lovely and very good value whether we’ve eaten in or taken out. Taznim ensures excellent and polite service with take-always ready when promised.

The breads are extortionately priced, they are out of a packet bought from the supermarket. The curries are obviously frozen and very expensive for what it actually is. The menu is incredibly limited with next to no vegetarian options. The food is also very runny and watered down and the rice isn't basmati. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Sorry guys but not to to my expectations. Chicken tikka starter was OK but korma and rice not the greatest. Have to say more like a Tescos night in deal. The garlic bread was not great either very much microwave style. Sorry but wouldn't go again but I can say it was cheap.

Very disappointed. The parathas (made by Shana) and chapatis are bought ones from a supermarket. The rice is not basmati. Again, I syspect it is packet rice.There was no difference between the mushroom and vegetable rice. The tarka dhal was flavoured water, I couldn't see any lentils in it. The worst Indian meal I've had.

Called and ordered a take away for delivery, and we were very happy that they accepted our order despite being out of the delivery zone. I haven't had an Indian for a while and I wasn't disappointed, the food was amazing, but also was so glad and happy that they delivered my food hot and on time.... well done, and thank you so much for delivering.... we will definitely visit the restaurant when next in Dartmouth... just wanted to say a real genuine thanks for our dinner!!!

Spent Saturday evening here with a group of friends after a paddlebaord event. Very friendly staff, very accommodating Nd food was great. A very traditional Indian restaurant which is nice to see these days as so many have gone way too modern and lost their heritage Good selection and nicely cooked with good flavour

Quite frankly the rudest, most unprofessional scamming business owner I've ever come across. I've travelled far and wide and never ever had an awful experience directly with the proprietors. Sometimes there have been niggles with the facilities or the room but hey ho, such as life. This lady was unfair and the cleaning of the establishment is very much questionable based on her own responses. She lied about thier being provisions to remove makeup...which there was not, not that it mattered anyway as we had our own however the marks that were left on the towel were minimal and slight with which she said she had to take extra steps and boil wash which isn't something there cleaning providers did, plus she had to clean the grout in the shower cubicle. There was no such stainage at all on the grout, and surely the cubicle should be bleach cleaned as standard protocol between each room use? The towels should be boil washed as a minimal anyway??? After a 2 year pandemic I would expect extra vigilance with hygiene as a bare minimum, especially within the hospitality trade. The fact that this was this ladies argument with which her tone changing quickly and with no room for discussion stunned me. I questioned how she would deal with more questionable and unsightly stains both with cleaning them and approaching the customers in question and this did not go down well. Dartmouth is a stunning location and is definitely worth the visit, however I would absolutely recommend for you to choose another host and B&B to spend your money on. The rooms aren't great but they're ok however the hygiene within the establishment is more than concerning and the way the lady dealt with us was disgusting. Please avoid!!!!

Appalling - my wife and I stayed just one hour. Small thing but enough the toilet wouldn't flush and we were advised on reporting it that it was in the pipe line (no pun) to be repaired sometime and we could "Jiggle" the plunger to make it work.!!

Style over substance. My husband and I had lunch here whilst on a day out. We were attracted by the pizzas on the menu and walked in off the street. This was a mistake, we should have looked at other customer reviews first! The pizzas here are definitely not homemade. The base was definitely shop bought which was very disappointing for the price charged. My side salad was also rather sad and wilted. The service was also poor - we weren't brought a menu over when sat down or told how to order. In the end we went back outside to look at the menu by the door before ordering at the bar. Would not go again.

** Dog friendly, inside and out ** Lovely food and service, we ordered the Tapas and it was freshly cooked. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star is we ordered bread with oil and balsamic, when the waitress brought it over she accidentally dropped the jug, the little glass bulb thing that held the balsamic broke and we ended up with shards of glass in the oil. Once we brought it to the waitresses attention it was changed promptly.

Yeah, yikes...look, this seems like a nice, well reviewed place, but we came in and basically had to fight for service, saw two other couples sit down and leave after 5 minutes when no-one had come to serve them and then to top it off might wife got food poisoning from the 🦀. The prices are okay, but the serving sizes are small (and not just the Tapas). In a town filled with amazing restaurants we won’t be coming back...

After reading the old reviews, I was a little concerned ordering from here, but it looks as though their previous issues have been addressed. The food was ready on time, the lady on the front counter polite and even though we had a 10-12 minute drive back to our accommodation, it was still nice and hot and tasted good.

The best beef satay I've had, aside from my local back home. We called to order whilst having a drink around the corner and he kindly asked what time to have it ready for. It was piping hot and fresh when we collected it and he double bagged it so it was still warm when we got back. After reading previous negative reviews, we were a bit dubious about trying here, but I'm so happy we did! Will definitely be back before the end of our holiday!

Truly terrible. There’s a lot of appalling brown food masquerading as “Chinese” in the UK, yet this is a genuine contender for top prize for the worst. I dread to think what goes on in their kitchen. Only managed to eat about a third of it, hope it doesn’t kill me…

I need of some tlc to the fixtures and fittings but a good drinking pub The beer is excellent, dog friendly and child tolerant. The place has regular locals. Did not eat but have before and it was fine for us. Don't be put off by the decor.

Popped in for lunch with the kids as it looked pleasant from outside. Ordered food & drinks and sat down. All seats were torn and taped up and various cushions to cover them up. Toilets not great and taps not working. Food was ok. Empty pub for a busy summer lunchtime when other eateries in Dartmouth were bustling. Definitely needs some TLC.

Awful. Food was disgusting, left two whole meals. Everything was either microwaved or deep fried. Would not recommend. Wasting time and money in this dive almost ruined a lovely stay in a beautiful town. Zero atmosphere and zero customer service!!!! The upholstery needs serious attention as does the whole establishment. Very, very unsatisfied. Would recommend local chip shop though!

Could be a nice pub, if refurbished and food improved. Unfortunately, our "homemade" burgers have been pre-prepared and surved on a frozen bun. Would not recommend it.

All seats in this place are ripped. They try to cover it up with cushions but you just sink into the seat because all the foam has gone too. Not really a nice place and bar maid....well if looks could kill!

Lovely looking pub that wins awards for the flowers outside. A cozy and friendly atmosphere inside. It's let down by most of the bench seats being worn and ripped.

Nipped in for a quick drink. Was surprisingly quirky inside and a very friendly barman. Will be going back on the next trip to Dartmouth.

We just had the best Saturday night takeaway from Jenny. Could not recommend highly enough. High quality, super tasty and very reasonably priced. The fish cakes were amazing and the curries delightful. We will be back

Found this gem while wandering through Dartmouth - what a delight! Was slightly maxed out from Fish and Chips over our trip- an Asian cafe , fresh food and a changing menu! My partner had the egg fried chicken rice, I had the pork baguette - heaven! Kudos to the special Malaysian spice sambal sauce too - make sure you ask for it! Jenny came round to personally ask us how we enjoyed the food , a lovely touch. Also make sure you try their cakes!

Absolutely wonderful place, the staff lovely and efficient. The food was to die for - had only a sausage roll, but the best ever!! Definitely would come back. May not be viable in winter as outdoor seating, but worth a visit.

We visited Jenny's kitchen today and we both loved the vegan noodle soup options. I had the Turmeric Tofu and my partner had the Sweet Chilli Aubergine. It seemed like a daily menu so I can't guarantee what will be on the menu in future but Jenny was really friendly and helpful, and everything was cooked fresh to order, so I think there'd always be a vegan option available. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for vegan options in Dartmouth, especially when it's warm enough to "dine in" (in the courtyard outside).

Inside the old marketplace, this is a delightful cafe with lovely staff and great produce. Delicious coffee. I bought one of their Pasties which was scrumptious. Good value, great produce, great people.

What a beautiful pub! Tucked away by the ferry, it sits in a sunny spot right by the water. My room was absolutely immaculate with a beautiful view. The landlady is lovely and very welcoming. The locals are also chatty and the pub has a very warm atmosphere. It’s a proper pub with 2 cask ales. Perfect pint! My room was beautiful, Victorian bathroom, views over the water, spotless and mini bar with REAL milk for tea in the morning. I’m here for work, but will be returning soon with the husband. Support small businesses when they do it like this!!!

Our stay at the Ship in Dock Inn was absolutely perfect! The room was excellent, spotlessly clean, well-equipped with all the amenities, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of everything. The staff were amazing, extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our visit. The bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was exceptional, freshly prepared, and delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, highly recommended!

Gorgeous little guest house!/pub. Incredibly friendly and helpful owner who has gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Absolutely gorgeous room overlooking the lovely estuary only a few hundred metres from the buzz of the main areas of shops, bars and restaurants. Huge en suite with shower and bath. Spotlessly clean with real attention to detail, huge comfy bed, awesome, very effective Dyson fan in the room. Really impressed and will 100% stay here again when we return to Dartmouth (which is also gorgeous).

A magical place. There you can feel the spirit of sailors and pirates. My wife and I had a wonderful vacation. Everything was unforgettable. We will definitely return there again. I advise everyone. Prosperity and success to this hotel.

A pleasant pub with friendly staff and a good choice of drinks. Well decorated with some nice ornaments around the place. Just over the road from the Quay it was a welcome drink before we headed home.

We found this little delight hidden away in a corner by the church. Unlike a lot of eating places in Dartmouth it opened early 4.30 which was ideal for us. We had booked a table on line but there was no need at that early time. The food was beautifully cooked and served at the table professionally. We really enjoyed our meal that we went back a couple of nights later for a takeaway which didn't fail to disappoint again. If we ever come back we will make a return visit.

Just had a curry here with the family. We each ordered a different main dish along with some sides. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service, which felt poor, and the tables, which were very cramped—less than a foot apart in most cases. The room itself was hot and humid due to how many people were packed in, which made it uncomfortable. The food was a mixed bag. My prawn karahi tasted nice but only came with three prawns, which was disappointing. The other curries, including the house special, were fairly bland and lacked the flavour we’d expected. Asked at the end of if I was going to tip!! Overall, we felt this was a poor curry house, and we wouldn’t rush back.

Really great food, lots of flavour, well presented. The veg in the curry sauces was high quality too which isn’t often the case. Would recommend.

Fantastic food! One of the best dhansak dishes I've enjoyed for a long time. Great that you can bring your own drinks as well. Excellent value, good portions and friendly service all add to a great curry.

Very good Indian restaurant, great menu, comfortable surroundings. Staff were super friendly and genuinely welcoming. The Fish Kerala curry was excellent, plenty of fish in a beautiful curry sauce accompanied with a delicious Peshwari naan bread. The only downside was they are not licensed to sell alcoholic drinks but you can take your own and there are no corkage charges.

Food and staff very good can get a bit crazy busy. But pleasantly surprised when we had a meal here. Madras was lovely Open late as well Many thanks
