Antipolo City

Antipolo is a city east of Manila in the Philippines. It's known as a Catholic pilgrimage site. In the Antipolo Cathedral, the shrine to Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage has a 17th-century statue of the Virgin Mary, and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Southwest, the Pinto Art Museum displays contemporary Filipino paintings and sculpture in tropical gardens and whitewashed, Mediterranean-style villas.

I had the chance to visit Pinto Art Museum back in 2022, and it was truly a memorable and worthwhile experience. As a student, I was able to avail of a discounted entrance fee, which made the visit even more budget-friendly. During that time, the pandemic was still ongoing, so the crowd was minimal—there were probably only around ten guests during my entire visit, which gave the whole place an unusually serene and intimate atmosphere. The museum itself is impressively vast, with multiple galleries spread across a beautiful, open space filled with greenery and architectural charm. The artworks on display were diverse and visually captivating, each piece offering a unique perspective, from modern expressions to cultural reflections. While most of the museum felt calm and aesthetic, I have to admit that a few installations gave off an eerie or unsettling vibe. Perhaps it was the stillness of the place at the time, but it added an intriguing layer to the experience. Despite that, the visit was incredibly enjoyable. The combination of art, nature, and peaceful surroundings made it a refreshing escape from city life. Pinto Art Museum is definitely a must-visit destination for art lovers, photography enthusiasts, or anyone simply looking for a tranquil and inspiring spot in Antipolo.
We had such an enjoyable visit to the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo when visited the Philippines —it’s the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, where every gallery flows into lush gardens, courtyards, and peaceful corners to pause and take it all in. The Mediterranean-inspired buildings and open-air design made the whole experience feel serene, and the art itself was both thought-provoking and deeply Filipino in character. We loved wandering through the different exhibits, discovering surprises in each room, and then stepping outside to take in the beautiful grounds. It’s not just a museum—it feels like a retreat, and we left inspired, refreshed, and already talking about coming back.
Visited Pinto Art Museum and it was such a beautiful and peaceful experience. The art collection was stunning, with a mix of contemporary pieces and thought-provoking installations. Every corner felt like a photo spot — surrounded by lush gardens, whitewashed walls, and open spaces that make the whole place feel serene. It’s the perfect mix of art, nature, and quiet moments, ideal for a weekend escape from the city. Best to go early to avoid the crowds and enjoy the calm atmosphere. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — art for the soul and scenery for the heart. definitely worth the trip. 🌿✨
The no BS review. Price: 5/5 - 300 regular rate for adults and 150 for students. I can say that the price is definitely worth it. They have 7 galleries and other attractions. I honestly think they can ask for more considering how well maintained the place is. Atmosphere: 10/5 - I was never an art-lover but I think Pinto Art museum gave me a whole new perspective on the subject. It was immaculate. I don't want to give more details because I think you will only know or feel it once you do go to the museum. The place will require a bit of walking. It has a combination of both indoor and outdoor so bring an extra shirt or towel to wipe off the sweat. If you go there in the afternoon or on a hot day, they do have a strategically positioned cafe before entering gallery 4-7 to get refreshments. We spent 4 to 5hrs walking around and enjoying the art pieces. I really enjoyed it and 100% recommend Pinto Art Museum to every one including those who are not so.... artsy.
Three things to keep in mind before visiting: 1. The exhibits are extensive, so expect to spend 2–3 hours if you want to see everything. 2. It can get quite hot inside, so bringing a portable fan is highly recommended. 3. There are a lot of mosquitoes, so insect repellent will come in handy. The museum features a fascinating range of works you won’t usually encounter in traditional galleries—satirical pieces, darker themes, mature art, and thought-provoking installations. On top of that, the museum itself is a beautiful structure and absolutely photogenic!!
One day isn’t enough to explore the whole place — it’s really huge! I suggest wearing light clothes, especially during summer, since it can get quite hot and most galleries aren’t air-conditioned. Also, bring extra money in case you want to buy some art souvenirs to take home — there are plenty of unique pieces worth checking out!
This was my second time visiting, and it was still such a great experience—though pretty tiring! The place is huge, so make sure to bring some water because you’ll be walking a lot to check out all the different galleries. We went on a sunny day, and it was quite hot, but honestly, the exhibits were all worth it. Every gallery had something interesting to see and perfect spots for photos. One thing I wish they had, though, is a phone stand or something where you can take group photos if you don’t have anyone to ask (or if you’re too shy to ask someone). Still, the place—both inside and outside—is definitely Instagram-worthy! I’m glad I came back, and this time I got to share the experience with my friends.
Loved my visit to Pinto Art Museum! So many amazing artworks to see, and the place has a relaxing atmosphere. They also have a nice café inside—perfect for chilling after exploring the galleries.

Slide 1 of 8
We visited Luljetta Hanging Garden for my birthday last weekend. We availed their Nurture package (inclusive of lunch, snack, Coffee scrub and massage) and it was worth it! The food was delightful (though we have to pack it to go because we got there late and we dont have time to eat the lunch). The massage was very relaxing. The coffee scrub felt good for my skin. Favorite spot was the Dr Fish. I also love that you can enjoy the sauna with your loved ones in opposite sex (since most saunas I go to has separate saunas for male and female). Perfect place for couples but families can also enjoy since there were swimming pools that kids can enjoy. Props also to the staff because they were very accommodating. Only downside is that the place looks a bit old but still 5 star for me.
We arrived around 9:30AM. The queue is short by that time. I’d say the receptionist in the front desk is quite accommodative. After accommodation, we got ourselves a table. My dad is the one who gives the paper with the list of order. We waited nearly 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The food both for breakfast and lunch are decent. To be descriptive, our breakfast: Suman and Cake are both packed with flavors. For our lunch: the salmon has a nice sear and the pork ribs is smoky and tender. However, there’s only one available pastry and luckily we’re the first family to eat it. Our favorite amenities provided by the Spa is probably the “Fish Spa” and FREE massage which lasted for about an hour. Overall, the service and experience are great. I would definitely recommend this place to our friends.
We visited Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens to celebrate our anniversary, and overall, it was a really relaxing and peaceful experience. If you're looking for a calm getaway to unwind, this is definitely a great spot. What stood out to us the most was the massage, absolutely superb! The therapists were clearly well-trained and professional. We also really enjoyed the sauna, jacuzzi, and meditation room. After some time in the sauna, dipping into the cold pools was the perfect refresh. It’s a great setup for relaxing both body and mind. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which made our visit even better. You could tell they really care about the guests' comfort. As for the food, we had a set meal included in our visit. It was nothing fancy, just simple and okay. Not bad, but not particularly memorable either. The one standout? Their suman, so good! I wish the rest of the menu had the same wow factor. It would be great if they offered a bit more variety for returning guests. One thing worth mentioning is the price. We only did a day tour, and while we enjoyed it, we found it a little pricey for the Rizal area. What we paid for few hours here is the same price you’d usually pay for a full overnight stay in other places. It’s not a super luxury spot, but it’s definitely good for relaxation and meditation. Maybe if they adjust their pricing a bit, more people would come and stay longer. Now, a few things to keep in mind: The place is best for couples, friends, or families looking to relax. It’s quiet and meditative, so not really ideal for kids, though Loreland Resort nearby might be a better fit for them. There’s a lot of walking and stairs, so it might not be suitable for older guests or those with mobility issues. Some honest feedback for improvement: the place is beautiful but starting to show its age. It would really benefit from more regular maintenance, things like dried leaves stuck in nets, worn-out stairs, and areas that just need a refresh. Safety should be a priority, especially on the steps. Also, it would be great if they could do more to control mosquitoes. I know it’s tough given the location up in the hills, but as someone with type O blood, I was definitely a mosquito magnet during our stay! All that said, we truly enjoyed our time at Luljetta’s. It was a memorable way to spend our anniversary. And if they take care of a few of these details, we’d be more than happy to come back again, and again!
I would rather spend my 10k somewhere else. We waited so long for our room - 1hr. They seem to think that late checkout will fix anything, not valuing our time. There were termites in the cabinet. The place is old and not well maintained. We tried to schedule for a massage but they did not have enough therapists. The breakfast food was so so. But the rice is still raw.
I went to Luljetta's Hanging Garden and Spa with my bestfriends, and we had such a relaxing and memorable time. Although we didn’t get a massage, we made the most of the pools and lounging areas — especially the infinity pool with its stunning mountain view. The place is surrounded by nature and filled with so many Instagrammable spots — from cozy nooks and hanging chairs to beautifully designed gardens and scenic overlooks. We took tons of photos and made even more beautiful memories. The staff were warm and accommodating, and the entire property was clean and peaceful. We also enjoyed the merienda included in the package — perfect after hours of swimming and lounging around. If you’re looking for a serene escape with your barkada, Luljetta’s is the perfect spot. Nature, views, and good vibes all in one place!
Massage is ok, but honestly to say not worth for the price. Everything is old already. Jacuzzi is very small but no time limits or control. One group could held that forever specially if raining that this is the only place with shade. You have nowhere to hide.
The location and view was serene but there wasn’t much special offered here that would make me come back. The pools were small and located far apart that you have to strain yourself across multiple flight of stairs. It ain’t for everyone just for its accessibility. Fav would probably be the infinity pool which was the largest and offered the best views. They also have beautiful shared spaces but food and drinks are not allowed there.
Excellent service, great massage, and nice views. However, the food, while nicely presented, lacks flavor.

Slide 1 of 8
I visited Antipolo Cathedral, one of the local attractions in Antipolo, Philippines. Thanks to my visit during Holy Week in May, I was able to witness the parade firsthand. This parade takes place annually on May 1st and during Holy Week, with numerous faithful walking approximately 30km from Quiapo Church in Manila to Antipolo Cathedral. The event begins the night before and continues into the dawn mass. During Holy Week, pilgrims walk to the cathedral from Thursday evening until Friday dawn, which is said to represent participation in Jesus's suffering. The duration of the parade varies depending on the starting point and individual pace, but it generally takes about 6 to 8 hours. Particularly during the May 1st 'Alay Lakad,' millions of pilgrims participate, and during Holy Week as well, countless faithful join the walking pilgrimage. This large-scale event has established itself as a symbolic occasion that demonstrates the deep roots of Filipino Catholic faith and the solidarity of the community. The parade at Antipolo Cathedral was a special experience that went beyond a simple religious event, allowing one to experience faith, tradition, and community solidarity. The inspiration and awe I felt during participation will likely remain in my memory for a long time.
We went as a family for mass and car blessing. There was available parking inside the church premises. The church main hall is spacious and well ventilated with dome shaped roof. Daily masses are done in hourly basis in Tagalog language. There is a restroom and resting lounge beside the church near the office. It was the most cleanest and looks very fancy for a washroom/toilet, far more better than most malls in Metro Manila!
The Antipolo Cathedral, officially recognized as the Philippines’ International Shrine, is a truly meaningful and sacred destination. It offers a serene and solemn atmosphere ideal for prayer, reflection, and devotion. The recent improvements to the facilities are also commendable. The newly renovated comfort room is clean, well-maintained, and pleasantly fragrant, providing added comfort for all visitors. Whether you are a pilgrim, a tourist, or a local parishioner, a visit to this historic and spiritual site is always a worthwhile experience.
I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting at this cathedral. It’s an interesting mixture of old and new, with more new than old. Somehow it works. I don’t know why, but it does. I thought it was interesting that there is plenty of space for people to watch Mass outside, including an ancient Jumbotron. Such, I suppose, it is the devotion of Filipino Catholics. I look forward to visiting this place again in my next trip to the Philippines, as it’s not very far from our house there.
The climb is all worth it. Got a good blessing Sunday. And you can't miss all the kakanin around the cathedral. Part of the experience.
Wow its amazing church very huge and comfy but only suggest more fan coz its a bit hot when i was there in the middle but mostly very nice church and many pasalubongs like suman, cashew nut and many more..love it.. ❤❤❤❤
I visited Antipolo Cathedral during my first long motorcycle ride—a memorable milestone for me. This is where I bought a rosary specifically for my motorcycle and had it blessed, hoping it would bring me road safety and guidance on all my future journeys. The cathedral is best known as the home of the 17th-century image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje). Devotees from all over the country, especially travelers, visit the shrine to offer prayers and seek blessings before long trips. The tradition dates back to the Spanish colonial era when Filipino sailors and migrants would pray here before departing for Mexico through the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade. Even today, the practice of alay-lakad (offering walk) remains strong—many pilgrims walk from Manila to Antipolo as an act of devotion, especially during Holy Week or May, the month of the Virgin Mary. Antipolo Cathedral isn’t just a religious landmark; it’s also a symbol of protection and guidance for travelers like myself. The place is vibrant with faith, and visiting it added both spiritual meaning and emotional depth to my motorcycle journey.
Nice view, the cathedral was mesmerizing inside and out. The park was clean very comfy to hang out.

I love it when a specific place offers free entrance, just like this one. It’s perfect for a low-budget gala. I hope every city invests in parks or places like this, especially now that going out has become so expensive. These days, we often have to spend on coffee shops, cinema tickets, or fast food just to enjoy ourselves when we're bored. We need more places like this where we can relax without spending too much money. They say the smell of the falls isn't pleasant, but for me, it was tolerable. In fact, we (humans) are the ones responsible for that smell, since we continue to pollute bodies of water in the cities. I really hope we can preserve more natural places like this. There are also a few fun activities to try, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. We didn’t get to try everything because the activities had already closed. There are also lots of cottages available! You should definitely visit this place it feels like an escape from the city.
We visited last Labor Day, May 1, 2025 and this place has its pros and cons, depending on what you're looking for: Pros: - Very accessible. LRT to Antipolo, then tuktuk worth 60 pesos. - Place and activities are free. - Surrounded by nature and has very relaxing ambience. - Street vendors are available outside. Cons: - Every activity is no longer available, except the spider web. - Place and activities are free. Expect to have no empty seats/huts, very crowded, and bit unhygienic. - Pipes from the comfort room goes directly to the water from the falls, and thus the bad odor all around. - People are no longer able to go near the falls. - Not much any thing to do anymore. Our main goal is to do the activities and so we're very disappointed to know almost all are no longer available.
Hinulugang Taktak in Antipolo City is a convenient nature escape, being one of the nearest waterfalls to Metro Manila—and with no entrance fee, it's budget-friendly too. Ideal for nature lovers and those who enjoy outdoor walks, it offers scenic views and peaceful surroundings. However, the water has a strong unpleasant smell, and it's not advisable to go near the falls as the splash, combined with wind, can be uncomfortable. The long staircase going down is also not stroller or wheelchair-friendly and can be tiring for some. Tip: Wear comfy shoes, enjoy the view from a distance, and avoid bringing bulky gear if you plan to walk around.
Antipolo City local government deserves a shout out for maintaining this place and most importantly, free entry for all! The place even have swimming pool free for use which is really good especially for kids who want to beat the heat. The waterfall looks great and the smell was tolerable and does not slap you in the face stench. Maybe because the water flow is rapid due to previous rains. The entrance fee is free and parking fee is charged only for those having their own private vehicles. Highly recommended to be visited in Antipolo City especially for local tourist who visited the Antipolo Cathedral which is very near.
Smaller than I thought it would be, a nice waterfall to view and tables to sit at. It's like a nice public park to go and have lunch or to just relax for a bit. They also have a pool and rock climbing.
The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking! We could see the ocean and the city lights twinkling at night. It was the perfect backdrop for our morning coffee and evening drinks."
The place is beautiful and clean. Toilets are clean. The water from the falls is not clean and it's smelly I hope the city government can implement changes that can lead to a good clean up drive
A beautiful and secure small haven for all the family. A hidden gem quite far from Metro Manila but worth every traffic jam. Relaxing waterfall, pools for everyone for a small fee, endemic fauna to spend at your leisure and the spider web for those brave enough. A must stop for any traveler.

The reservation process for the overnight package was easy to do (through Viber). Understandably, going to the reserve was a bit tough because some parts of the road were not paved. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff and we were oriented on the history and advocacy of the place, which resonated with me. Overall, this is a great place if you need a break from social media and... other people, LOL.
The place are well-maintained and the staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about conservation. Their Accommodation, Facilities, Food is really really great. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for an outdoor adventure or just to relax. Disconnect to negative vibes and connect with nature and each other. Mount Purro Nature Reserve gave us an unforgettable experience.
I came across this place on Facebook and was intrigued by the concept of “connecting to the disconnect”—a chance to slow down and heal in nature. The admin responded quickly at first, though the booking process took a bit longer, which I didn’t mind. I paid half the room rate in advance, as instructed, but upon check-in, the staff asked for full payment (they didn't say it was a full price directly). I initially trusted the process, but something felt off, so I raised the issue—and it turned out to be a mistake on their end. They weren’t even aware until I pointed it out. When it comes to business, this kind of oversight seriously damages trust and professionalism. Food options were another letdown. I had asked ahead if there were vegan meals, since one of my companions is a vegan. I was told the menu of the day couldn’t be adjusted. But once there, the kitchen staff said vegan options were available—it’s just that no one had informed us. It seems that not only do they isolate with the rest of world with no WiFi nor mobile signal here, they also disconnect to each other internally. The resort markets itself as eco-friendly and off-grid, which I respect, but basic necessities were lacking. No toiletries, no phone signal, and no thoughtful adjustments to improve the guest experience in such conditions. The residential area was peaceful at first, but extremely loud crickets and roosters crowing from 3 AM onwards made sleep nearly impossible. While I don’t expect nature to be controlled, a heads-up or simple earplugs would have helped. In the afternoon after check-in, we were resting when the staff burned something nearby, and we were simply cooked and smoked in our hubs. This kind of mismanagement affects guest comfort and safety. The facilities—pool included—were dusty and felt neglected. As for the activities, they sounded nice in theory, but the experience was underwhelming. The “river walk” was mostly along concrete roads and a construction site, with barely a few minutes near actual water. The raft ride was over in the time it takes to cook instant noodles. The hike was just climbing stone steps in the jungle to find a spot with mobile signal. I truly wanted to enjoy this place, and the idea behind it is beautiful. But execution matters—and in this case, it fell short. I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision and encourages the resort to reflect and improve. As for me, I won’t be returning to see the changes myself.
Went to Mount purro to have a short break before my busy schedule and this place did not disappoint! Loved this place sm! I really had a much needed nature break 🌿🥀 i find the accommodations affordable considering the fact that it already included the amenities and activities. The foods are sumptuous, enough for you to feel full until the next meal. Also got the chance to speak with the founder, Toto Malvar and his wife and they were so nice and approachable. Just for consideration, maybe eco-friendly toiletries could be provided. Also, please consider putting landline phones in the rooms that connect to the reception area. Since there is no signal in the room, it would be helpful in case of emergency esp since the place is really dark at midnight. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. When you go here, bring with you an appreciative heart and mind and you'll fully experience the place 🤍 Will surely go back here. 🤍✨️
🌿 Mount Purro Nature Reserve – A peaceful escape with heart, but room for small improvements Positives: I had a truly lovely experience at Mount Purro. The staff are absolutely wonderful — all local, warm, and always eager to help. You can feel they take genuine pride in their place and it makes the atmosphere so welcoming. The property itself is stunning. The views are gorgeous, and waking up to see animals wandering around freely is a really special treat. It’s the kind of place that instantly slows you down and helps you reconnect with nature. The food was another highlight — fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. I also appreciated how flexible they were with check-in and check-out times. It’s rare to feel so unhurried and looked after at the same time. Areas for improvement: While I admire the concept of being eco-friendly, I think some of the “no amenities” approach could be balanced differently. For example, instead of simply removing amenities to reduce environmental impact, offering locally sourced, reusable products would support local communities and still be sustainable. The same goes for towels — it feels like the responsibility is shifted entirely to guests, yet the prices remain quite premium. A small TV in the rooms could also be a nice option, especially during the rainy season. I completely understand and value the idea of disconnecting from screens, but sometimes it’s good to have the choice — especially if you’re indoors due to weather. The game area (which charges for WiFi) could have complimentary access. Being disconnected is important, but so is staying in touch with loved ones, and basic internet shouldn’t feel like an upsell in a nature retreat. Finally, I think the way meals are charged separately could be reconsidered. It might actually be more transparent — and more profitable in the long run — to build a small extra cost into all room rates and offer meals as included. That way guests don’t have to keep thinking about extra costs, and it feels more like an all-inclusive retreat.
Perfect place to relax, recreate and recharge. Accommodation is very nice Very delicious meals Staff are all accommodating and friendly. We will definitely back for sure. 💚 👍👍 MPNR team
We booked for 31adults + 3kids, but the reception only reserved only 31adults... Food was in very small portions. Had to order extra- chicken sandwich. Which tasted bad, can't taste the chicken only the mayonnaise. Plus both the bread and the filling are cold. Kitchen staff didn't even bother to heat the sandwich... The place was beautiful but the service level of the staffs needs a lot of improvement.
I truly had a great experience here, this is a good sanctuary if you want to disconnect. The tour guide and staff were very accomodating. Their food is healthy and delicious. I recommend this for family, friends, couple and solo traveler

It's a Nature Lover Paradise, complete with amenities such as cottages, swimming 🥽 pool, conference halls with catering services, also it house some special livestock such as ostriches, sheep that freely walk around... And the place is abundant with tall trees 🌴 etc..
Place is really nice and secluded. It's perfect for disconnecting and unwinding. Property is huge but a lot of the facilities need improving as they are either old or worn down. The restroom by the club house was quite smelly and the shower /water had very low pressure which made it hard to use. There was also a mysterious case of underpants in the restroom (probably left behind by a guest?). 😳😬🤦🏻‍♀️ A lot of the activities we expected to do (kayaking, fishing, etc) were not available due to pandemic. I just wish this was mentioned when i asked during booking to save me from disappointment. The only thing you can do there now is go around the property, look at the animals (mostly chickens, some ostriches, a horse, some ducks, bunnies, etc) and the plants, basically be surrounded by nature, and swim in the pool. Oh and they had ATVs for rent but idk if it's worth it when you're just going around the property with nothing much to see, really. There's also a lot of bugs but they do warn you about that. Overall, still enjoyed our time here.
It was a nice place to stay. Nice cabin beds facing the nature. Pool is nice too. We had a good trek near the river. Insect repellant is a must!
A very huge place, nice environment and landscape, good for team building school field trips. The facilitators are welcoming and they take those with health problems (such as asthma) into consideration, as the activities are very tiring and demanding. The only main con of this place is that cellular signal is very weak and sometimes non existent.
10/10 Literally my kind of therapy, coffee and outdoor. If you need to genuinely disconnect and recharge, this is absolutely the spot. The whole place is beautiful, waking up to the sound of birds and seeing that forest view. Highly recommended Must visit
Our experience here for our company Team Building was a nightmare! Never again! The staff/admin were nowhere to be found on day 1 to assist us with the rooms, housekeeping, aircon, etc. The restrooms are dirty and not well maintained. Air conditioners in the rooms were only available at 6:00 PM and are also automatically shut off at 6:00 AM the following day. The electric supply in rooms and in the function hall was too low that the caterer couldn’t serve coffee or boil water on time for our breakfast, and we couldn’t even charge our phones. The catering staff were not professional - we paid for 120 pax, but the food was not enough all throughout our overnight event. In every meal service, there were members of our team who were unable to eat due to shortage of portions or late delivery of the food. The owner’s assigned staff onsite were not available to assist us. So, all concerns were directed to the owner who could only be reached through phone and took forever to reply. The only good thing about this place is their water activities. Other than that, the place is horrible (roads going to the function hall and rooms are muddy, steep and not paved!) If you want a great experience for your teams, stay away from Phillip’s Sanctuary!
Stayed for an overnight at Villa Elisha, attached are the photos, structure is somewhat old, if you want to relax and detach for awhile, plenty of books available to browse, very poor signal of Globe while just fine for Smart. Ambiance of nature is very satisfactory, with 3 rooms and 4 t&b.
This place is awesome to disconnect and reconnect with nature. Spent a day here with my wife to do our annual day of prayer and planning. You can bring your family here for a day-tour or you may choose to have an overnight stay in one of their cabins. You may also try Samgyup sa Farm. Not bad for the price.
