Absolutely amazing experience! Dry Falls is a must-see if you’re in the area! The waterfall is breathtaking, and what makes it extra special is that you can actually walk behind it — such a unique and unforgettable experience. The sound of the water crashing down is powerful, yet the trail is easy and accessible for most people. The path is short, well-paved, and gives you incredible views from different angles. Everything was well-maintained and clean, and there’s plenty of parking close to the trailhead. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and appreciate nature’s beauty. Highly recommend it!
We have become waterfall hunters and Dry Falls is a must experience to walk behind and enjoy its natural power. If Parking is full BE PATIENT because sight seers are coming and going quickly as it’s a short walk from the parking lot and done in 15 minutes max.
Loved the waterfall. Easy walk down several sets of stairs. Easy hike &you can take your time going down to the bottom of the waterfall. Great views. You are able to walk behind the waterfall. Beautiful setting. There is a minimal Parking Fee.
Visiting the Dry Falls walkway and experiencing mist under the waterfall was worth the wait to get into the parking area. The road got a bit congested at the entrance l, but nothing anybody can do about it. Smile and be friendly, enjoy the falls.
A truly magnificent waterfall one of the top 10 I have seen in my short life. Definitely show up early because the limited parking was a headache to deal with. There is several steps and is mostly an incline walk down and back up, but there several resting points to stop and enjoy the incredible view. Also take care where you step there is areas that may hold water and can make the rocky path rather slippery.
You will not be disappointed here!! Wow, and it's great you get to walk under the falls! It's cool, literally and damp! So watch your step, it's easy to get to too! I know you'll thank me, and the drive! Wow cool crisp mountain air and not to far from north GA!
Very easily accessible from parking. Ample of parking space. Washroom onsite. Driving to the spot can be bit tricky, need to be cautious. The waterfall is a must see. You can walk inside the fall and cross to other side. Doesn’t need too much of time to cover. Can be visited in short duration. Not crowded. Visited during weekend evening.
Parking was a nightmare (very popular and limited parking. Granted I stoped by around lunch time on a sunny summer Sunday afternoon.) Lots of stone steps combined with a short 0.5 mile (approx) “hike” down to the falls and behind the falls. 100% worth it!

Beatiful falls that you can drive under. Unfortunately due to the ice above and snow banks, the drive through lane was closed. Was able to park and get some great photos.
Bridal Fall you can park near and walk underneath falls they no longer allow you to drive behind it. Great for quick waterfall pictures.
5/17/25 Bridal Veil Falls 120' drop US-64, Highlands, NC 28741 Parking off the highway next to the falls. Only room for 6-7 cars. But no hike, so you are not there for long. Right down the road from Sequoya Falls and Dry Falls. The road here that goes behind the falls is blocked off. But you can walk the road behind it. And you park right next to the Falls. It's strange that it's so close to the road. It is a cool looking falls.
This is an easy waterfall to access, as it is right off the road. You used to be able to drive under it, but the road under it is closed. Parking is limited, and it can get very busy in the summer months.
Right off the side of the road and close to several other waterfalls. It's definitely different. Worth the stop if you're chasing waterfalls. However the road to drive behind it is currently closed, which was part of the hype. You can still walk behind it!
Right off the road, you dont need to hike miles in order to appreciate this little beauty. I love an interactive waterfall so the fact you can walk under, around and through makes it well worth the visit.
Beautiful waterfall on the side of the road. Great photo opportunities
Would be a nice place to stop but when we went on 10.18.25 there was a large orange construction machine parked on one side of path.

While visiting Highlands, NC last weekend, I took my niece and nephew to the Biological Center, and we had a wonderful time! We walked there from The Park On Main (where we were staying), not really sure what we would find, and we were so impressed! Not only is the Nature Center well maintained and educational, staffed by extremely friendly and well-informed people, but the grounds are downright magical! From the moss garden with the Winnie The Pooh house to the Botanical Gardens, it was all peaceful, beautiful, and perfectly maintained, and I could have spent the whole day wandering in that fairy land or sitting on one of the many benches just soaking up all the calming nature. If you're anywhere near this place, I highly suggest you make the effort to go. You won't regret it!
This was spectacular! More than imagined. Really worth the visit even with some rain. Would go back for sure.
Wonderful little botanical park. The azalea canopies are stunning. Late summer most of the wildflowers are done blooming by there is still plenty to see. Very well maintained and lightly trafficked when I went on a Monday morning.
Beautiful plants and nice trails wind thru property. Bonus- no charge.
Came here for an educational presentation about invasive plants! Beautiful habitat,, well maintained and a great information hub for all things natural and bio scientific. I hope to take advantage of more of these free programs!
A delightful botanical garden highlighting the diverse native plants of the area. Included are wonderful bog gardens with many carnivorous species and other bog plants. Also, they feature informative lectures and themed walks. Some walks are at night. We went last year on a night-time spider walk. It was fascinating. I've seen them advertise for bat and moth walks. The many trails make it a great place to walk. Short and easy trails.
A perfect opportunity to enoy nature's beauty from improved trails. We walked the dogs along the paths and snapped pictures capturing the experience.
Easy hike. Quiet and peaceful

Family-owned, roadside destination providing covered gem mining & a shop with locally made goods.
Slide 1 of 8
Our third attempt to visit this local Gem Mine, and its all worth it for us. Our kiddos enjoyed their gem mine. Location is near the road, plenty of spot and spaces. Inside the store is cute and tons of selection to shop for souvenirs. Hot cocoa and boiled peanuts are good as well. It is a family owned store and they are very lovely and friendly. We had a great visit & experience. Please do check their hours of operation before visiting the shop.
Such a cute place to gem mine. We visited today and it was empty as it was late in the day. We bought the $30 bucket for my hubby and myself. We used to do this activity when the kids were little, so we thought it would be fun to do it again for memories. Jackson was the worker who helped us and he was really sweet. We talked with him as we were doing the gem mining. It’s always nice to meet people from all over so that was nice. The place has a cute store and they helped us understand what gems we had gotten in our mining. They have a bunch of adorable dogs that they bring to work with them so that was a treat. I definately recommend this place for some fun.
Absolutely AWESOME! The owners of this place are so nice and so knowledgeable! We bought a $50 bucket and found so many great rocks and crystals! The lady knew every one and as we would uncover them in our sifters as the water washed away the sand. There were even rocks that I thought were just gravel rocks that she identified as some Kool rocks! We found, I think, 6 fairly heavy rubies and so many other types. There was a rose quartz that was so pink! They also have animals on the property. There were goats that we got to feed. They had 3 baby goats that were adorable!! We didn't scare them into fainting but they are fainting goats! LoL There were also bunnies! And the mommy bunny had 2 babies! One was younger than the other and didn't even have its eyes open yet. If you're wanting to adopt a bunny and you're thinking about visiting this place, you can get one of their bunnies, as some are available for adoption and they are all so tame and nice! Oh! They also have a gift shop!! I definitely recommend going here! The little town of Dillard is a nice place to visit and see the sights so make a weekend of it!!
Absolutely awesome adventure. My 5 year old as well as a friends 9 and 10 year old absolutely loved it. $30 bucket is what we got for each of them and it was a pretty good haul with different types of stones. Children had a blast and us parents loved watching and helping as well. When we were done outside, we went to the counter inside and got to learn all about what we found. Will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.
Fun place to take the kids and for the adults. Grab a bucket of sand and go to the water trough and see what kind of cool rocks/gems you have. Lots of cool rocks, geos, etc, to look over and purchase. Parking is limited and situated on a Blind curve. Dangerous. Friendly staff. Again, it's a fun stopover.
Such a fun place to take kids and even do as adults! I used to love going as a kid and always had a blast seeing what gems were in my bucket. My brothers and I would always compete to see who got the "cooler" gems. Created great memories for us that we still talk about to this day. Every time we pass it on the way up, it creates much nostalgia for us. Definitely a place you should check out and try on your next visit to Highlands!
Really interesting and neat stop! The kids loved mining for gems, we did the $100 bucket and our 3 kids got a large amount and variety of gems. My girls are having birthstone earrings made out of what they found! The family running it was incredibly sweet as well!!!
Went on my birthday this year. The workers were very kind and knowledgeable. After sifting through your bucket, they will identify what you found inside. I had an amazing experience, but I feel as though the advertisement of prices is a little misleading. My partner and I purchased the $100 bucket, which is advertised to come with a “free” gemstone pendant or earrings cut from your findings. After picking out the ruby I wanted cut, they informed me the $100 bucket is actually only $45 off a gemstone cut. To get a ruby cut, it was $85 (I asked about emerald, and that would have been $115). So I ended up paying an extra $40 for my ruby pendant. Which I would’ve had no issue with if they would’ve been more transparent when I had first bought the bucket. All in all, the pendant came out amazing, and I had a great experience. Just thought others would appreciate this information, as I would have.

Beautiful drive. Dry Falls is definitely worth a stop. Short walk from parking lot to the falls but there are quite a few steps to negotiate. The steps and path are wide and paved.
A beautiful river you drive along when driving route 64 between Franklin and Highlands in North Carolina. Due to mountainous nature parking along the road to view the river and cascading waterfalls is not always easy but worth it.
Great stop with waterfalls located adjacent to US Highway 64, between Franklin and Highlands NC.
Nice picturesque river and scenery.
Nice place other then it's rocky
Serene and beautiful.
