You have to pull the curtains all the time. Also, one room (the largest, I guess) opens into the reception area, and other rooms open into the library and common room. The first floor rooms are probably single bed. Yes, they have a cabin and some rooms there too, but they are more expensive. Overall properly size is small. Not much to do here. You can go for a walk around the hotel in morning and evening. Food is good. So, is the service. Location is far. Very bad arrangements. My personal experience in their afghan restaurant was really bad, I asked them if they have jain menu they said they can customise and make it. I simply demanded jain dal with naan , that too when they themselves insisted to prepare, after waiting for 1 hour I got my food and the reason was kitchen is busy and chefs are busy, I have not forced them to provide food. But then it was like a favour on me. I have never experienced such things in 5 star hotel. Really disappointed, also it was my wife’s birthday and asked them to arrange a cake and some decorations, they did some decoration but kept the cake open on table before the birthday around 8 hours before. the cake was kept open in plate… we did not need a free cake , I asked them many times to pay…. It's about forty minutes drive through ghat from mussourie mall road. It's has three bedrooms and a common area with basic kitchen. The rooms are very well made and maintained. The service for food is very good and fast. The staff are very helpful in all ways. It's also having barbeque facility on extra charge basis. The views from the bungalow are fabulous. Only few things which are not good are the fact that 1. to reach the bungalow, there is a very steep climb on slope for almost 300 to 400 mts which takes a toll every time one comes from a outing. 2. The property has very poor water heating mechanism by which only one person can take a bath with hot water in a span of an hour. That's quite poor considering they charge more than most five star hotels in mussourie. Worse is owners are well aware of this issue but they choose to ignore it.

My family stayed here recently for five days and it wasn't a nice experience. First what works for the property - the view is spectacular and it's actually secluded. The staff are amazing - specially Bhang Chand who really takes care of the guests and cooks decent Indian food. But the nice things about the property end there. First, it charges more than some five-star villas and hotels, but the room quality is not even akin to one star. The walls were damp, paint was peeling off everywhere and bathroom floor was wet throughout our stay. The manager blamed everything on the weather - but we expected the property that to fix these issues and not give excuses. But nothing was done. I have stayed in other properties during rainy season and know that these issues don’t occur if the property is managed well. Except one room, the others are dingy. One of the rooms has no windows and it was suffocating. The manager promises that that the rooms are big enough to even accommodate four people - it's a lie. Just one room has views and the other two don't have any views at all. Some of the beds were so hard that you would be better sleeping on a rock. The main problem for me was the lack of community space - which is so important if you are on a family holiday. There are no comfortable loungers or couches in the common area - just chairs that are good enough if you are working and want to keep your back straight. Being regulars at Savoy/Rokeby Manor we were a bit skeptical at trying out a new property but our apprehensions were put to rest the minute we stepped onto the property. We were touched with the warmth with which we were greeted by Ms. Megha and the entire team, who made note of all our requests. Like most properties under the JW Marriott banner, this is a modern build with PLENTY of activities ranging from an indoor arcade for children (and adults), a temperature controlled pool and a fair selection of restaurants. In addition they also have several outdoor activities, including mini-golf, that are organised by Mr. Sumit, a kind teacher who taught my son patiently. For those who love the outdoors, the hotel organises various hikes/trails through the scenic hills of Uttarakhand. We did the relatively easy Pine Forest Trek with our wonderful guide Mr. Roshan who was knowledgeable and well versed with the terrain. Naturally, food is an important part of every holiday and Walnut Grove does not disappoint in that sphere either. Wisteria with it's delicious Pizzas and Mediterranean spread is great for a lazy brunch, while Trout with its delectable Indian spread can leave you full for days! We saw it on our walk the first day and then got the chance to visit it on 23rd June 2022. the entry is via a short uphill road. The sky was absolutely beautiful as I clicked some pics. No-one stopped up as we entered the courtyard. We were admiring the views when the caretaker came to us and asked us if we wanted to see the inside. What an opportunity. The inside is amazing with stained glass artwork, the Gothic architecture and deep silence. We stayed there for a couple of minutes, made a small donation and came back outside. Oh, what a wonderful experience. Must visit, if you are at Mussoorie.

We booked 2 Nature view rooms (₹1300 per night) and 1 Lobby view room (₹1200 per night). Reading the reviews on Google and checking the pics, we felt it was a pretty good deal. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. We requested the Manager to keep the rooms clean and especially the washroom clean. But the rooms were not cleaned well, there was hair on the pillow and some stains on the bedspread as well. It's not a 5 star hotel but we expected some basic cleanliness and hygiene to be maintained. We requested the staff to clean the washroom for which he replied that it was already cleaned. Nevertheless, he spent 5 minutes cleaning again but it hardly made any difference - check the pics of the washroom, they are taken after the staff "cleaned" it twice. They took 45 minutes for 6 cups of tea. I'm not sure how well staffed they are but the service was extremely slow. The bonfire was well set up and they gave pretty good Bluetooth speakers. he paneer tikka (₹300 per plate for 10 pieces) was decent too. But other than paneer they did not have any veg options. Overall the bonfire experience was good. The parathas in the breakfast were good too and price (Paneer Paratha 80₹ and Aloo paratha 50₹) was reasonable for Mussoorie in general. After we gave a tip of ₹100 to the staff, they service had improved a bit. They cleaned the washroom again and it looked much cleaner. Our bill for food and bonfire was ₹2690. Initially the manager Dilip had told they'll give good discount but not for bill of ₹500 -₹600. So for a bill of ₹2690, we were expecting a decent discount of at least 200-300 bucks. But he only gave ₹90 discount and compared our bill to other guests who apparently had a bill of 4k. When we gave feedback about the service. The manager says "For a room rate of ₹1300 we can expect only this kind of service". He again compared the room rent of his property to a property next door for which rates were approx ₹1800 per night. I was extremely disappointed by the staff attitude and the service. Room was very big and well furnished, WIFI of good signal strength and a smart TV though without cable connection. The washroom was also good with all required toiletries and towels. Food was also good but too costly almost double the rate of any other hotel/restaurant. I have reduced one star for the high cost of food items and TV without cable channels. Otherwise this hotel deserves five star. I will recommend this hotel to those who like to spend good time in a good hotel near to Moosouri but away from it's hustle bustle.

The landscaping is beautiful and the rooms are cozy. It’s an elevated cottage and so the drive up to the property is really steep. We had an overall great experience. The food was homely, the flora and fauna was well maintained and we were greeted by two very friendly dogs when we arrived. They also offered a cab service with Mr. Inayat who drove us around for two days to all the tourist attractions. He did a splendid job navigating the hilly roads. We did however have an issue with the basics of the room - we did not have fresh towels, the dryer did not work and some of the plug sockets and shower heads were falling off, giving away poor construction. We didn’t run into any serious issues however. Apart from that, we had a great stay at the Skydrift. It’s a beautiful property and The staff was extremely helpful and friendly which made our time memorable!

They just have one bed that’s in an alcove between two flights of stairs. Calling that a third bedroom is gross misrepresentation. We booked this cottage and are staying here with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and my son who’s come to visit us for a week from London. He had to sleep without a room in the middle of two flights of stairs and we are all so terribly disappointed.

Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. One can still see the ruins of the castle, now a heritage property. The area has plenty of space to walk around, has a fully functional mess which serves delicious India food with both dining and delivery options. I have stayed for 3 days and it was really comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage has modern Design. The caretaker Sonu and his wife are very friendly and make sure all your needs are met. One room gives a clear view of dehradun and the other one to Mussoorie. I somehow cannot put my whole experience to words and therefore recommend for a stay to feel it by yourself.
