Table or bar reservations are required and fill up during peak hours. The establishment is small (about 9 booths and bar seating) but exquisitely decorated in posh vintage era decor. Its dark and moody inside, creating a cozy ambiance. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was delicious altho minimal options. The entrees were more like an appetizer than a full meal. Drinks are a work of art. Using an array of spices, herbs flowers and fruits to create many exotic flavors and mixes. Not your typical bar menu or commercial beer selections. They carry absenth and have created mixed drinks as well as the traditional 1920's serving method. Music selection took you back to the early Century's era. Even getting the check was a cute nod to yester year. I loved the experience and altho a bit pricy, well worth the $$ to be transported back to a time for at least 90 minutes (time limit on your visit). Hidden entrance and exits were fun too.

The speakeasy is located in the historic Packing House in Anaheim and only has 30 seats available so reservations are a must. After making your way through the Packing House food court you will find the secret entrance to The Blind Rabbit. There are a couple of booths and several small tables for two along with bar seating. The staff were friendly and the bartenders seemed to be having nice conversations with the guests at the bar. We tried a specialty themed cocktail which was extremely good and also a good price point. The bartender was also able to curate a nice mocktail for guests that did not want alcohol. We tried the artichoke dip as an appetizer which was delicious and served with warm pita bread. We shared the steak frites which was the perfect size for two. The food is a bit pricey but it was a nice portion and very tasty plus you can’t beat the cool vibe of the place.

First, I personally am very picky with my alcoholic drinks and this place made one of the BEST drinks I’ve ever had. A friend and I had VIP tickets to see Bilmuri, John Harvie and an opener, and figured we'd grab food on the way - but ran out of time due to traffic. I loved the Abeja Asesina with Mezcal and Bourbon as the flavors were bright and refreshing. Tiger Prawn Salad was flavorful. The Frog Legs were better than I expected and nicely plated. The tender Black Angus filet mignon with the shredded smoky oxtail was amazing. The Herb Roasted duck breast was tender and lightly seasoned. The buttery mushroom soup was warming and lovely as a dipping sauce for the sweet potato bread. Dessert was apple stuffed French toast. That was lightly sweet and not like a typical toast bread. The atmosphere was relaxing with warm wood colors. We sat facing the open kitchen which was great for me because I work at a fine dining open kitchen. We listen in on the executive chef calling out the orders. The GM visited us twice and I watched as the floor managers made sure to touch the tables to check on guests. They even served dishes and poured wine. I have to say that this is top quality service I would expect from this establishment.

This restaurant was not the experience we were expecting. We were seated outside despite our best attempts to get seated indoors and 2 words…overstimulating and loud. They have a more limited selection, for vodkas at least, so I just went with Grey Goose on the rock with lime while the gf ordered a Summer Refresher. I've had the Grey Goose on the rock with lime countless times & beside certain places in Vegas this was the most I've ever paid for it ($16). I probably would of downed more of them but that really is a overpriced. The Summer Refresher is Grey Goose, elderflower liqueur, like juice, agave nectar, soda water, muddle kiwi & strawberries. All the components actually made for a pretty refreshing mixed drink. Proper balance between the sweet, tangy & alcohol components. It was $15 & I can find this one a little more justified I suppose since its a crafted drink. Service was fine, nothing so stupendous, but not bad either. It was quite busy on an early Saturday night but we got a table pretty much ASAP. I know this is Downtime Disney & anything associated with Disney comes with ridiculous prices, so already knew I'd be overpaying for drinks. But still. I suppose if they drinks were maybe presented with some "Disney magic" like a cool cup or something it would be a little better. Rarely go to Downtown Disney these days but if/when I end up back there I'll probably just save the money for food. But if I "need" another vodka I know where to go. Overall the interaction with the downstairs hostess was really smooth and quick. She provided us updates every so often, so it didn’t feel that long at all. The Mozz burger was on point though. I’m still not sure what it was, but it really hit the spot with the Hazy IPAs. The burger was kind of like a Sloppy Joe, wet and messy. The kid’s cheeseburger was pretty well made and the kiddo seemed to enjoy it. We opted to go with carrots and a chocolate chip cookie. Wawaweewa, that cookie was good. The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. The hotel is well appointed and doesn’t feel too busy. We were worried about hotels in the area being noisy and overrun with people (no experience if that is the case but the Westin does not have an over busy feel). Importantly for us there were sufficient lifts. Many American hotels we have stayed in you wait ages for lifts. We chose a park view room because of the time of year. The experience was better than expected. After a long flight from Sydney we watched Disney fireworks from our room and each night the same. On 4 July we could see fireworks in the distance for over an hour which was amazing along with fantastic Disney fireworks. We didn’t want to have to return to Disney in crowds to see fireworks and the room allowed us go have that experience. It’s easy to walk to downtown and Disney, we believe there is also public transport close but we didn’t use it. The in room dining is quick and tasty and breakfast is good for a hotel. The pool although smaller than expected was nice for a swim after Disney. Our only issue was the showers aren’t amazing in terms of pressure. I also do wish American hotels had a kettle but we brought one with us for a cup of tea. There is an in room fridge and the bathroom is over size which is also very cool. The hotel staff are lovely and not in your face too much. We highly recommend it. The park view you can literally hear the screams on the roller coaster in front of you which is so much fun to watch. We took ages deciding on a hotel here and were very happy with the choice. Disney hotels felt too much and we knew jet lag would mean we would not be able to wake up for the extra time benefit in park. The walk is slightly longer than a few other chain hotels but the extra few hundred metres is worth it. It’s an easy walk to some super markets and restaurants with a Mexican and steak place in building.
