Been coming to this place for many years now and it never disappoints. They now have an interactive museum portion which is super cool. This was our first time visiting and we were not disappointed (even with the renovations in progress). The check in staff was professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The museum is beautifully curated and very interactive. We were able to “run a hotel”, with one of the interactive displays as well as participate in a touchscreen “what would you do” scenario based activity. As we made our way out of the museum, we were deeply impressed with the tribute walls of the men and women who served our country. One especially unique display was the exterior display dedicated to our presidents who served our country, before they became presidents, from Roosevelt to G.W Bush. There is also a dedicated interactive children’s space with a specific focus on children during the various wars. We also participated in “The Rescue” an experience of the life of Berna Real, an American refugee during WWII. We will definitely return once the renovation is complete!

That was a bummer, though the museum did mention you can come back when it's done and see it free. Only slight downside is that I'm from 1000+ miles away. This is an awesome museum for kids who love learning, exploring, and playing games. The museum had a lot of interactive full fledged electronic games, even for adults. There was quite a bit of work put into the games, LOVED the 1-2 player submarine game, that was awesome. I was straight suffering with the humidity outdoors, seeing this museum in summer wasn't a great idea. The location to an excessive amount of food options was however a great idea. There are 2-3 gift shops for this museum, all with different items. It's worth checking out, would HIGHLY recommend you go during cooler months, there's a lot to see outdoors.

Definitely recommend getting there early as it is very popular with limited seating. I expected the menu to have more brunch items but it really seemed like a lunch menu with very few breakfast items. However, the Sunday fried chicken special was delightful, and I’m glad we got it. They need to add a Bloody Mary to the brunch menu and take care of the fly problem downstairs but it certainly wasn’t keeping any guests away. For our mains I ordered the grilled veggie salad and added the confit chicken and my husband ordered the duck confit. Duck confit is one of his all time favorite dishes and this one ranked as one of the best ones he has ever had. He let me have *one* bite and it really was divine. Overall we were really impressed with the food and would certainly recommend Vaudeville to any friends going to Fredericksburg.

I had their burger & fries on another trip there & it was a bit better, but nothing extraordinary. We did the whites/reds tasting, and, IMHO, the wines were just OK. Comparing the selections we tried vs. other TX wineries, the wines at Narrow Path lacked depth and complexity. The server in the tasting room was not really familiar with the wines she was pouring, constantly using her phone to read descriptions of the varietals and tasting notes. The cost of the tasting was reasonable, cheaper than many of the other tasting rooms on Main Street. One positive note about the tasting is you're able to walk with your samples into the shop next door which is owned by the same family, interior door access, don't even need to walk outside! LOL

We stayed back in 2021 and absolutely loved it so revisited again 4 years later. It still has the same charm and has everything you need. However, there are some things to note… the bed this time around wasn’t nearly as comfortable as it was back in 2021. I’m a side lying sleeper… the bed dips towards the center so I found myself in the middle of the night having to hold myself so I wouldn’t sink into the bed. But, the pillows are insanely comfortable. I love the pillows but didn’t like that it would leave my hair very staticky. I don’t know what the sheet material was but I think cotton sheets would fix this problem. We also had our infant with us. We like to do no shoes so she could safely crawl around without picking up too many germs. We didn’t see any access to cleaning materials so we went to go buy a swiffer from a nearby Walmart to clean the floors so we could safely let her crawl around. It took several rounds of swiffer sweeping and mopping to get the floors to a somewhat comfortable level of cleanliness to do so. I think the floors could be cleaned a bit better by the cleaning staff. The AC doesn’t reach well into the restroom either so just be mindful of that. It can get pretty humid pretty quickly even with the fans running. Luckily there was a dehumidifier running which we did empty once during our stay. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. We hope to stay here again in the future but hoping some of these small issue will be addressed. Including a photo of the cottage during our very first stay in 2021.
