I was quite amazed by the size of the museum that allows them to be able to display so much informative stuff, educating the public on their history of Port Macquarie. An informative museum of the history of the region from convict days to today. I didn’t know anything about the region before visiting and came out feeling informed enough to appreciate the remainder of my visit in Port Macquarie. Who knew that public private healthcare partnerships were trialled here…. you will after visiting this museum. Only costs $5 for adults to enter so give it a go for an informative history lesson.

The best local small history museums in NSW, the ladies are very lovely. The place is well presented, they are supporting the senior people around the area. Actually you can access it for free if you have a senior card. For adults $5. Port Macquarie is the third city for settlers around 1821, the house was built around 1831 and 1835. It is located on one of the major roads. It was a very enjoyable place for a family trip in Port Macquarie.

Parked next to the cemetery side of the park and walked into the mangroves. The walking path is a board walk through the park and there are tens of thousands of these creature and these creatures are massive !!! There also is an area where you can sit by the water and it is very relaxing. Remember to wear but repellent as there are lots of mosquitos ready to pounce on their next human prey. Didn’t see any koalas as they as pretty hard to see.

The park doesn't look like much, but once you get to the boardwalk it is incredible what you can see. Plenty of information about the trees and the hundreds of flying foxes. The plants are beautiful and everything looks well maintained. Apparently there are crabs, but I didn't see any. But in the end I saw hundreds of flying foxes resting in the trees. There’s a few different walking tracks. The big one makes you feel like you’re in the absolute middle of no where when in reality just metres from Gordon Street. It’s amazing how real and natural this park is. If you love walking in controlled nature this is the place to go. If you do the full walk from the cemetery you will end up on Gordon St where you cross the road for the walkway to Westport.

Lovely short walk around the woods, with a view of the sleeping flying foxes across the water. Path is raised, boarded and accessible for prams / wheelchairs. There is also a decent green space to sit on when the weather is good.

While visiting family in Port, I popped in to get some fresh fish for my hubby, the gentleman serving me was intuitive enough to see I was frazzled, he suggested a tub of their seafood chowder might be just what i need. It was absolutely beautiful, just like home-made and at $7.50 per serve I think great value for money. Teamed with a slice of Burkhardts toasted sourdough it was perfect. The snapper was great too. We had a great time for lunch on Saturday at Little Fish! The sun came out just for us and we had a table with a view of the vineyard!
We had the special cocktail which had rose and orange slice and was just divine under the sun while we decided on our menu (so many delicious choices!)
My mother has this delicious honey goats cheese starter in puff pastry with a delicious salad and I couldn’t help but try the mussels in garlic with bread crumbs that were big in size and just made me feel so happy.
We both had the duck leg for main with lovely creamy mash, carrots and broccolini and cabbage that had been soaked and tasted amazing with juniper berry. The mixture with fig in the sauce was just divine!
And of course we shared a dessert that was a chocolate cheesecake with a berry and custard compote and vanilla bean whipped cream! If that is the last dessert I ever have in my lifetime… well let’s just say my life is complete!

We really enjoy this restaurant and usually come once or twice a year when we visit Port Macquarie. However this time there were a couple of things that weren’t as good as the last time we visited. I ordered prawns with chorizo and the plate where it was served didn’t have any space to put the shells. A side bowl would have been perfect. My husband had the Bouillabaisse and had to ask for a spoon twice. Also no side bowl for the fish shells. The soup had a lovely flavour but we thought the amount of fennel was too much. Overall another lovely meal but not as good as we’d been used in the past.

Late post but still posting my review. We moved to Port around April and we've only been trying out some place. Some are good and some aren't. This one is good! Very good place to get a meal. The beef cheek is to Die for as well as the French Onion Soup, had a special pasta that day as well which was really good! Service wise, it's one of the most pleasant experience I had in a restaurant here in Port Macquarie. Went there a bit earlier but I reckon it can packed full of people, well of course not until the restrictions are lifted.

Delicious food. There was a set menu but my dairy free needs were perfectly catered for. Delightful jazz style live music playing as well that was not too loud and very enjoyable. Suggest getting up and having a little walk around as the winery and the big trees on site are gorgeous too. You feel like your miles away from port macquarie but its so close. Our waitress was so friendly and made our night an absolute pleasure. Plenty of dessert options although we were both so full. Been here quite a few times for lunch and dinner, and guess what! They now serve breakfast too!
It's a nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend the outdoor seating, if the weather is good, and keep an eye out for their daily food and drinks specials, as they hardly disappoint. Staff are super friendly, and make you feel welcome!
They've recently changed their food menu, but it still doesn't disappoint!
They do have a music lineup, but we've always missed it. Whether it is for a drink or for some bites, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Hello Sailor is located in a beautiful spot on the marina. I was seated next to the water, which had a great view of the boat’s/yachts and the fish swimming next to the pier. The staff was amazing and made us feel at home. This place specialises in finger food, so we had a sample of a few dishes. We had the buffalo wings which where fantastic. We also had the swordfish which was ok, but was a little too fishy. We also had the crab empanadas which where delicious. The drinks where also amazing. The better value for money is to get the jug cocktails. They where also delicious. Highly recommended.

Went on a morning whale-watching cruise with some friends! The whales where playing hide & seek this particular day BUT our captain was persistent and dedicated to helping us have our whale experience! One lovely humpback whale gave us a wee show by popping up out of the water & even breaching briefly! It was a sight to behold, that's for sure ☺️
Make sure you arrive a half hour early so you can sign your waiver, get fitted with your life jacket & briefed on all the safety protocols/procedures etc.
Be sure to wear waterproof clothing/shoes, sunscreen and bring sunglasses! (It can get quite bright/glarey out on the water! Ooh, and ocean water in the eyes can sting a bit...)
Oh, and dress warmly- it does get cold out there!
They do have waterproof poncho things on board which are very helpful when the seaspray tries to play "wet t-shirt competition" with you!
A wonderful experience, nonetheless. Highly recommend ☺️👍

Highly recommend these guys! Good beach location with both small and bigger waves. The instructors were funny and tailored their feedback to each individual in the lesson. They were skilled in spreading their time evenly to all involved, ensuring we all got what we needed as well as time to explore the waves ourselves. My girlfriend had her confidence boosted from this lesson after previously struggling, while I was approached with a great sense of humour but plenty of professionalism and constructive feedback.

Booked a last-minute surf lesson here since it was close by our campground, and man, was it a blast! The best decision I could make.
Wayne was all about getting our feet wet right off the bat. Nervous at first — never been on a board before — but Wayne made the experience really smooth and friendly.
He even threw in some German phrases when he heard where we're from — super cool touch 😄
Wayne was hands-on, literally pushing us into waves for the best starts, and always had spot-on tips after each ride. It was just me and my girlfriend, so we got heaps of attention and felt like a private lesson
In two hours, we got the basics down and had a bunch of laughs. Boards and wetsuits were included, no fuss.
And now, Port Macquarie isn't just a stopover; it's a place we connected with the ocean, thanks to Wayne.
