It was actually 67 steep steps post a steap ramp. At the end of an exhausting climb we checked into a very large and a bit dingy and shabby room. Dingy - because curtains on the lovely huge window into the terrace overlooking the lake almost three "floors" down the hillside, can never be opened. The terrace is public and guests naturally love sitting there chatting. All rooms on this "first" floor just above the restaurant have this amazing absence of privacy. I called the room shabby but that is a matter of taste. It is very big with plenty of furniture - cupboard with safe, table and chair with a very well supplied tea coffee making station. a sitting area with chairs and a small coffee table and a big sofa with a big coffee table. There are plenty of power outlets in the room and a well working room heater and extra blankets in the cupboard. A giant bed (a very soft mattress!!). Most of the rooms are old & damp, bathroom is foul smelled with dirty & old commode which is possibly impossible to clean perfectly. The first room we were given had stained bedsheets, a filthy, worn-out carpet, and was poorly lit—yet the dirt was still clearly visible. Breakfast and dinner buffet had nice varieties (didn't try lunch buffet). Food was tasty. There was live soothing songs during dinner time which added to the experience. Check in and check out was super quick and smooth. Last and not the least, their highlight is definitely the service provided and the behaviour of the staff who treat you like family and look after your each and every need. A big shout out to Mr Pooran ji. Would definitely like to stay here again if we visit Nainital again.

Never again. I had booked 4 rooms here solely due to location which in fact turned out to be a curse because they have only 8 parking spots in their hotel, that's it! The moment you would arrive, they would tell you that parking is full and you have to park in public parking which is far away. It just defeats the purpose of having hotel on Mall road if you have to walk to and from just to fetch your car. They don't even provide alternate parking to compensate for it and are blatant about it. They have not mentioned it anywhere on their website or aggregator platforms that parking is limited and don't bother to inform customer about it even if you have booked well in advance. The rooms are just too old and just functional. Mr. Prakash ji at front desk and his colleague were not helpful at all. Infact, they refused checkin due to parking issue and said that let's sort it first (which they were not planning to do and knew we cannot do anything about it due to prepaid booking), hence, we had to wait almost an hour. I asked them to connect with higher management which they said sits in Delhi but refused to provide their contact details. After a lot of to and fro, they provided parking to two cars (which they said initially was not available) but this just ruined our experience. I would highly recommend to skip this hotel and book a bit away from mall road as this problem would exist at almost all hotels on Mall road. Also, Local Traffic Police is proactive in towing cars, bikes parked on Mall road and issuing Challan. So, you can definitely get way better property with parking. If walking is a issue, you can rent scooters for the same amount which you would spend in public parking minus the hassle. All in all, take informed decision before booking this property and interest of you experience.

They demanded 25% advance payment that is why I can't leave the booking. There were no towel provided, tv was not working , dust every where, black big crickets, termites and other insects were roaming, and even after telling that blankets are dirty it was never changed. Firstly, rooms were super cold and the heater was doing nothing. Although they had 2 centrally installed heaters, they were non- operational due to the less occupancy in the hotel. We could not enjoy our stay because it was unbearable when the tempature outside was -5 in winter. There were no views from the rooms even though we booked the highest suite rooms. The games room was ok but most of the games were paid. Breakfast and dinner were the only good things in the hotel .The TV did not have any channels and there was nothing much to do in the evening. There was no bon fire or any such activities.
