There was a tent like house . We stayed in the wooden cabin like house (there were 2 of it) side to side with separate entrances. Its an average large room with a tv a kettle and 24 x 7 hot water facility. The gave us a drinking water jar( very convenient). There was a study table with chair. And 2 bedside tables one tea table and a couple of chair. a bed . For sitting outside on the varanda they provided 2 chairs and a small tea table . Surprisingly there was a fan in the room as well. Bathrooms were clean western toilet with all the amenities like bodywash , body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. They even provided a hair dryer. Wifi was also provided. There was provision for keeping bikes or cars.(a shed) we brought our scooty and explored kodaikanal. People coming by public transportation might have to spend more on the transportation. They could have given us a hot water bottle (thermos) for keeping the water warm. Could have given more charging points. The floor was a bit creaky, but it wasn't a big deal for us . The stay was comfortable , people were helpful. We visited in October so it was raining , so we ordered food from outside as well as from the hotel and both were provided to us . The food from avantara was provided in hot cases and was tasty and economical. While leaving the also provided us with a small box of assorted chocolate. It was very sweet of them. And at that moment 'MAGICALLY' the electricity was also back when we refused to check-out without a solution for hot water. (The corner shop had electricity in the morning when we checked, dunno how). As I write this review, it's 2 days since I am suffering with fever and cold, thanks to the ice cold bath. Now coming to the food. The caretaker told us he can arrange for very good home cooked dinner. 800rs 1 kg chicken chettinad he told and paneer(1 serving) for 160rs. The chicken he bought was hardly 500gm and watery. And for the paneer, exactly 5 micro pieces. DislThere were no soap/towels( still fine with us) but the almirah was locked stating that it has laundry stuff stored and we can not use it. The water jar kept in the kitchen looked like it had stagnant water since weeks. The washroom towards the balcony had a very bad smell.

Situated right next to Coaker's Walk, this is a colonial bungalow with 6 rooms and a new wing with a few rooms. We stayed in the Coaker's Walk room no. 3. The property is very well cared for by Ms. Sandhya and the staff. The breakfast was elaborate and sumptuous even though it was only the 2 of us in the property. We also had a couple of simple meals for dinner and they were tasty as well. You need to order at least 3 hours in advance since they do not have a full fledged restaurant. This is wonderful heritage stay, but not a resort so don't expect room service and other "amenities". We would not hesitate to go back to Onondaga if we were to visit Kodaikanal again.

But the property itself is nice and cozy and aesthetic, and the caretaker is also very warm and welcoming. Helped us with all the stuff we needed during the stay including food. Also all rooms are equipped with geysers so no problem of hot water. All rooms and washrooms are very neat and clean as well. Only downside is the rooms are separate, so if you're booking one or two rooms, someone else also might be booking a couple different ones (overall has 5 rooms) and you'd have to share the property with others. We were lucky at the time as we had booked 3 rooms, and no one else had booked apart from us so we got the entire property for ourselves. The chef/caretaker (Ram) is very arrogant and doesn’t know how to talk and behave. He is very arrogant and will scam you out if you ask for any additional help from him. You would get zero network(jio and airtel) over there and wifi is also pretty bad so be prepared if you are are planning for a long stay. No doubt the view from the property is mesmerising but the hospitality is very bad. Also there is no other alternative for food nearby so you will be at the mercy of the staff for everything.
