You can purchase tours (book ahead because they do get sold out) or do your own thing for free! Dress appropriately to take the trails to the water! We unfortunately didn't have the time to walk there but the pictures looked amazing! There is a free shuttle that takes you to the barn (unfortunately not to the water tho) which is also a short hike if you would rather walk. It was so fun and interesting to learn about their cheddar making process with a glass wall that allows you to watch the cheese makers during the day and interactive activities for both adults and kids. The animals are adorable and friendly and there are daily farm demonstrations throughout the day where you can meet an animal or get some insight on wool collection or cheese making. The bakery has fresh bread, there's a cafe where you can get lunch and there's plenty of outdoor seating around the super gorgeous restored barn building. Definitely plan to spend at least a half day walking the grounds, learning about animals, cheese and trees.

They transported entire buildings here in addition to artifacts in what feels like its own small town. Be aware that there is A LOT of walking here, but they do have shuttles if necessary. Regardless, wear comfortable sneakers. There is something for everyone here. Our kids (6,8 years old) loved the circus museum, the round barn full of old cars, the steamboat, and the school house. I loved all of the former along with the log cabin full of taxidermy big game, the lighthouse, the Wyeth and Grandma Moses paintings in the mansion. We were here for five hours and didn’t get to see everything. Could easily do two days here and split some time between the museum and Shelburne Farms. It’s a must see if you’re in Vermont, and many of the locals also recommended it. Bonus points for Fiddlehead Brewery being located right across the street, and beautiful surrounding views. Absolutely love it here.

Authentic buildings and artifacts that were moved to the museum so you are walking in an actual piece of history. Friendly staff and a shuttle service for those that do not want to make the walk or need a little help. The walk is a good one! We spent 4 hours touring the grounds. Decent restaurant that serves basic lunch, snack, ice cream and beverages. A couple of gift shops and several rest room facilities throughout the grounds. 100% worth the trip just plan on some walking and plan about 4-5 hours to really see it all.

Jam-packed parking lot already says something good. Vermont's liquor laws are weird, so expect some *rules* here since the brewery shares the space with a separate pizza business. Don't let it deter you though. At the brewery, it was the Wednesday special, five dollar twenty ounce pours of their flagship IPA. There were other beers on draft, too, but they're clearly IPA-centric. Why Vermont is so full of great breweries like Fiddlehead is anybody's guess, but get yourself over here. Way good stuff.

I’ve had Fiddlehead beer a bunch over the years but had never been to their taproom in Shelburne, VT. Based on what we knew of the brand - we thought they were a mega-brewery, but it’s a small, quaint little place with a pizza place under one roof. We came on a Friday leading into a holiday weekend, so it was busy even though it was mid-afternoon. Their beers are very good. I was a little surprised that they only had 5 beers on tap, but when you do beers right, it makes sense to stick with what you know. We liked it a lot and if we ever are even close to Fiddlehead again we would stop in. Next time we’ll grab some swag!!

I have no idea why, if this is clearly a known issue, that the bench is not stabilized for safety reasons. About 2.5 miles to walk the outer loop, but it could have easily been longer if I had time to explore some of the off shoots and connecting paths. The lake side is absolutely gorgeous but very steep with lots of roots and gravel, so wear appropriate shoes. Some of the steep section is very loose and it's easy to slide. The best view is not quite at the top, but it's gorgeous and worth the exertion. The inner trails offer many other options to explore. The parking lot is large, dogs on leash are welcome. Definitely recommended for an easy but beautiful hike near Burlington. Take a picnic (take out your trash) and enjoy an hour to an entire day.

The first time we got take out the there was a hair in my food. The second time my food was cold. The third time was super frustrating to eat my food. They didn't tell us there was cheese on them and one of the people in my party is lactose intolerant and now suffering from a stomach ache after eating a handful before we realized. Then 50 minutes later we decided to leave and get a refund. There was not many people im front of us and I really don't understand why it takes so long to cook fried food. We were sitting next to the kitchen and there was just a bunch of confused teenagers cooking the food, so that might explain it. Really unimpressed and definitely not returning after trying to give them a chance over and over. Jokes on us I guess, we probably should have given up after the second failed attempt. We’d heard prior to coming that the beverage list - both wine and cocktails - were excellent and this held true. At the end of the meal, my daughter, who loves ballet, was starting to get a bit antsy so I told her she could get out of her high chair and dance as long as she stood by our table. A couple next to us got up and started dancing with my daughter. By the time we left, the whole dining room knew my daughter's name and were handing her flowers off their tables. On our way out the door, the server who brought us the raspberries told us how much she loved our kids. It was truly a great experience and probably became a core memory for me and my husband. Benny was okay, hollandaise was good and eggs cooked perfectly but the brioche didn’t seem to be toasted and to be honest I prefer English muffins on Benny. Also spinach wilted under the heat from the ham/eggs and got slimy and difficult to cut. Maybe skip spinach and opt for an English muffin on the next iteration. Traditional breakfast was fine, lots of bacon and potatoes and eggs were good. Bread was a bit thin and too crispy. The owner stopped by and said hello to us..what a sweet and friendly person to meet, he was courteous and making sure everyone was enjoying their food..now that says a lot about why this place is so amazing. I finally got around to calling them about a week after the WRONG HEADBOARD was delivered to inform them of the mistake and all of a sudden it became MY FAULT that I had waited so long to tell them about the discrepancy. I assured them that they did not want to start a conversation with me about delays... They also informed me that their receipt listed a "solid maple" bed, but I assured them that my receipt listed a "cherry panel", obviously they were not capable of tracking a product through their system from purchase to delivery.
