The museum was the creation of Theodate Pope Riddle, one of America’s first female architects. On top of being a pioneer in the field of architecture, she also survived the sinking of the Lusitania. There is no photography allowed inside the house. When they are open you can walk the grounds of the museum for free. This is a great little museum, however they should have advanced ticketing and allow photography in the house. Still, the tours are very good and this is a unique museum that is worth seeing.

And you cannot take photos inside home. I was able to take photos at the Getty Museum which has priceless artwork! The home has so many antiques and so much history and in my opinion that should be the focus. I became very bored and left early (1 hour tour). The grounds are simply beautiful and they still have 150 of the 300 acres. There is a contemporary art gallery and gift shop. The young lady in gift shop was very polite and friendly. No gifts with museum name that I could see. If you want to see the paintings and here back stories then this is the place to visit. There are tour times so be sure to check on website so that you won’t have to wait.

Even though the water wasn't very clear it was possible to see the bottom or plant life obscuring the bottom in most of what I experienced. The bottom is mostly made of 50 lb stones, many have very jagged edges. There are also stray fishing hooks. So you really want to avoid falling in the water. And don't come here with any ideas of swimming. There are signs posted not to swim. Maybe for more reason than the treacherous bottom. But there need to be more free places where people can go to enjoy nature. This is one, and overall it is pleasant.

MDC operates the water treatment plants located at this reservoir. This is a privately owned area and not a public park. There was MDC Police that patrolled the area when I was there. Parking was plentiful when we went on a beautiful spring weekday. There were clean porta potties onsite. There were trails in the woods and out in the open; the trails were paved and gravel. It is opened daily from sunrise to sunset and closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. There were two trails; 3.4-mile loop red trail and 2.0-mile loop yellow trail. I waited almost 2 months for an appointment just to be called an hour before my appointment ( after I took a day off for this appt) to be told I was "misscheduled" she then said I would have to wait 3 months for another appointment which I was not told this by another scheduler I was told due to the error I would be given a virtual appt or simply rescheduled. I requested to speak with a manager regarding this mishap & she was very short ,dismissive & rude. There is a real lack of empathy in this department & working in the Healthcare field myself, I'm very disappointed & appalled by this. People are suffering very real issues that can't be put off for several months. I also missed a day from work for this error due to no fault of mine so I think a resolution should have been offered instead of this type of response. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else ****UPDATE** I would like to update this review and say a patient care rep or supervisor did contact me and they added me onto a priority waitlist & I received a message that I would be getting an appt within a week or 2 for the incoveniece.
