The beach was largely deserted and there was no line. Since this will likely be my only visit to Myrtle Beach I figure i should at least ride the big wheel. Since there were almost no other riders, the 4 spins of the wheel went by quickly. I can imagine that if I were here in season the ride would have taken longer to load the wheel making it a more interesting experience. The facility was very well maintained and the wheel looked like it was almost new. The staff seemed tired and were not particularly friendly like i would expect in a carnival. However, the ticket price felt extremely high compared to other aquariums we’ve visited across the U.S. Upon entering, guests are required to stop for a photo, which felt unnecessary, and the layout inside was a bit chaotic — it was easy to feel like you’d missed sections. Parents, do not let your kids crawl through the carpet tunnels. After our toddler went through several, I climbed into one to take a photo and immediately noticed a strong smell of urine and dirty surfaces. It was mortifying. We sanitized and continued on, but it definitely impacted the experience. Many of the tanks are positioned at adult height, which makes it harder for toddlers to see. That said, the floor-level tanks were great, and the overhead tunnel was impressive for adults. While it is geared around small children, there are lots of great exhibits, including an area where you can touch a jellyfish and pet or feed a manta ray. There is a 360 shark tank you can walk through and lots of fun activities for kids if the aquarium life does not hold their attention but I can't imagine that it wasn't because the way they have everything displayed is incredibly fascinating. Definitely a must during your visit to Myrtle Beach. We went for the multi pass for Ripley's attractions for just a few bucks more than the aquarium pass and it was pretty well worth it, though the aquarium is definitely the highlight.

The moving track through the tunnel was amazing. It is the perfect pace to enjoy it and all it has to offer. So many fish, sharks, and saw fish in the tank. The penguin area was really neat. There was on penguin that was hanging by the photo bubble for pics. There was also a very curious one swimming up to people viewing the area and would hang with them for a few before swimming into the next person. We enjoyed it. The jelly fish touch tank was nice. However, they should have a hand cleaning station for after all their touch and feeding interactions. So, everything you touch after that is contaminated with a fish smell from those who do not go find a bathroom to wash their hands. The goldfish realm was neat too, but their tanks had basically nothing in them and that isn't much of a habitat for them. I'm sure it is easier to clean an empty tank, but this is now their whole life. Feeding the rays was a huge highlight for our family. We got 5 cups and had a blast feeding them. Something special about being able to touch and feed these stunning creatures. I recommend this attraction for any family that wants to have a good time at an aquarium.

The show is loosely based on a pirate version of A Christmas Carol. The acrobatics are really well done and Salty the Seal/doggies were super cute. The pyrotechnics are fun to watch. I’ve heard of the Opry before and initially thought of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, but then I realized this is just a small but super cute venue right in Myrtle Beach. We stopped everyone and told them it was her birthday and we all needed to say it as we went by!!! And to my surprise all these strangers that we never have seen before all came together to tell her happy birthday and sing a quick song for her!!! She actually teared up and was so thankful!! What a beautiful young lady she is!!! So before I left yesterday I wanted to let a manager know about my experience with her. Because as a business owner here myself in Myrtle Beach, it’s rare to get compliments, usually it’s the bad stuff you here. So I wanted to make sure they know what a wonderful asset she is !!! And I wanted to get in here in hopes that people will see this and even maybe Morgan herself or maybe her parents!!! Because as a business owner, mother of five children and as a guest in the water park…. She made us feel like she had knew us our whole lives!! She was like this towards everyone!!! So, after all that I got a ticket on my window, in the lot adjacent to the restaurant that they were going to tow my car. It was $12.00 to fish the pier ( you do not need a sc fishing license to fish the pier). We brought our own fishing gear but they do rent poles and sell bait at this location. There is a restaurant that sells food all day long. I had breakfast and dinner , both were good . There is a gift shop that also sells drinks ,snacks and limited fishing gear. There were plenty of fishing spots with benches to set down. The staff were friendly. We caught 47 fish from 6am to 10pm. You have multiple sinks on the pier to clean fish and wash your hands. The best time to fish for us was from 6am till 11 and from 4 t0 10pm. Fish stopped biting mid day. One thing to know is you are directly in front of the airport. There will be big planes flying over head maybe every 30 minutes or so and what seems like 300 helicopters flying nonstop from the time you get there till you leave. Mind blowing the people taking helicopter rides. For me it was not a big deal but for some they may not like it so much. We had a great time here.

Too many great shops and restaurants to name. Movie theater and Barnes and Nobles are anchors there. A portion is dedicated to a " live & work " community with unique shops and businesses. More & more homes coming in and I love the colorful decor of the exterior paint choices. A man made lake surrounded by walking paths and lush green lawn, trees & bench seating for a brief rest. Happy people walking happy doggies, not overly crowded . Not a tourism feel to its environment .. which us locals can appreciate. No " souvenirs shops". There are enough of those lining the streets and boardwalks of the beach! Periodically sponsored events to further your enjoyment and shopping experience. If I lived in that area I'd be frequenting it but I'm up on the north end. It's a nice "date nite" or "date day" place to go.
