On a rainy day in Vik, my significant other and I decided to do the lava show spontaneously, especially since it was difficult to be outside when it was cold and windy. We were pleasantly surprised by how interesting the show was. The lava show was amazing!!! Both my 9 and 6 year olds loved the show but we were all amazed by it. The presenter (can’t remember his name) was so good at interacting with the kids and explaining everything. It was cool learning about volcanos along with how the show was run. Also, the heat from the lava was really powerful in the room and it was cool feeling that sudden change in temperature. We definitely would recommend the show. We wish we had more time to visit the other show in Reykjavík to learn about that volcano system.

One star for the after-taste I got after visiting this restaurant. I ordered lamp fillet but beforehand I checked with the waitress if the meat is fully fried and if there are no raw parts as I am pregnant. She was nice and said laughing ‘of course not, it’s fully cooked’. I got two juicy pieces of lamb that were medium-rare cooked with actually blood in the middle. I came to another waitress saying that I can’t eat raw meat as I am pregnant and I was reassured that the meat would be fully cooked. She said they can fix it and they took my plate to grill it longer. And it was okay, but they grilled only one piece. When I asked to cook another piece too, she returned with my plate, threw it on the table saying nothing. While leaving the first waitress who took my order asked if everything was okay - well, clearly not. But no signs of admitting her mistake. I didn’t expect any special treatment in such touristic place but didn’t expect such attitude either considering that it was the most expensive item on the menu. Clearly the first waitress wasn’t well informed about the menu, otherwise I’d just ordered something else.
No need for such arrogance - just learn a bit more about the menu, it’s not that big.

Super lovely owner/staff. Really cute idea and the bus is decked out/decorated well inside and plenty of souvenirs to buy here including cups, soap, stickers, and other random things. They offer some vegan coffee options and a fairly extensive menu for a school bus cafe. Neat experience and would come again but it is a bit of a wait when it is busy. There is another school bus cafe in a different location trying to do the same thing but both times we drove past that one it wasn’t open, glad this original one was!

Excellent tourist trap. It's themed well, and located in a really nice area. The parking lot has a view to the purple wild flowers, and the other side is an open field with some tents. There are benches and placss to sit, but you can also just rest in the grass which is nice.
The staff is... cold and lifeless? Not sure what's going on there, but you take a look at every review of this location and see for yourself. No mention of staff handling, welcoming, asking questions, or offering options or help.
The coffee itself is okay at best. Yes it's decorated, but it's just coffee.
When asked about the bus, the story is it's from the war. Bruv, the war? What war? They mentioned nato, like okay and? It's like pulling teeth.
I'd come here with your own coffee or whatever, and enjoy the view. I wouldn't come here expecting a nice drink, just a nice view.

We stayed in the premium part of the hotel twice. 2024 oct and 2025 oct. Both times I only had good things to say. The rooms are comfy, the bathrooms are clean and upgraded. The breakfast has a wide variety. This time that we stayed we traveled with my mom who is older and it was pouring really hard at night and while we were trying to leave for dinner she tripped and fell right outside the hotel. The hotel staff was amazing at helping and prompt at comming out and helping us take her in and help with first aid. Bogdan I believe was one of the guys on at that night and helped amazingly. So hospitable! The only thing I would recommend it adding some path lights outside when it rains and is night time it can get really dark and water piles up which makes the whole path look the same. Thank you again you guys! Would stay here again and recommend!

Auf der Toilette war in unserem Fall weder ein Toilettenpapierspender, noch eine Rolle. Nur Kosmetiktücher waren vorhanden. Das Badezimmer ist nach dem Duschen extrem dampfig, da die Abluft rech träge ist.
Man hört viel aus den Nachbarzimmern(dünne Wände sind in Island sehr beliebt).
Parkplatz Abends teilweise sehr überfüllt - also rechtzeitig da sein, sonst muss man ein wenig marschieren. Frühstück ist OK.
Der Preis ist extrem überhöht und maximal die Hälfte wäre fair für das was geboten wird.

The service is very good and they are pretty efficient. They offer both black crust pizza and normal dough pizza. They also have some appetizers and desserts that we didn’t try. The black crust pizza itself does not taste any different, but the black crust itself looks unique and interesting. We tried the duck and pepperoni pizzas which were both pretty good. There were no overwhelming flavors on either one, but the pepperoni did have some sweet fig spread on it that I didn’t like too much and took off.
I would definitely recommend trying black crust pizzeria if you are in the area!

I was very happy with my visit to black crust pizzeria, here is why you will be too.
1. The pizza is good! On a fundamental level, having good tasting food is a great place to start. I was very happy with our meal.
2. The wait was not too long. The way it works: you walk in and get in line, take a look at the menu and then get up to the service counter to order. Once you order they will assign you a table.
3. Easy to park, it’s that simple. I’d say it is an accessible place.

I wasn’t expecting much when it came to stir fry noodles in Vik, but this was actually pretty good! The noodles were very flavorful and came in huge quantities. One bowl might be enough for 2 people if not too hungry. We got the #1 and the pad Thai. Although both were good, my SO thought the pad Thai didn’t really taste like the traditional Thai dish, but he still liked it. From the Bar to the pool room and the restaurant, I have read that the restaurant is pretty expensive but comparing to other places in Vik it is pretty much the same price. We had a fabulous meal and drinks at the happy hour prices (from 4pm-7pm). The staff and excellent and so friendly, TOMAS AND ESTER in the restaurant were first class in every way. We paid a little extra for the Mountain View room and saw this from our room. Great way to spot the northern lights. Some other comments talk about the Mountain View rooms overlooking a parking lot, but at least when we went in November there were almost no cars. The breakfast is included and includes eggs, bacon, beans, pancakes, toast, an assortment of fresh fruits, yogurt, juices, and coffee. There is a game room on site that has an air hockey table, pool table, and ping pong. Other than that, there is not a whole lot to do at the hotel itself, but lots of great nearby site seeing spots to check off.
