The laid-back, south of the border vibes were noticeable from the moment you arrived. Walk-up ordering is fast and convenient. The menu has many varied options that all sounded delicious. It was recommended by a few friends and I’m glad we stopped in for Saturday night dinner, though I’ve also heard brunch is delicious, albeit busy. We had the only appetizer - Housemade Pimento Cheese with Wheat Crackers. We also shared both BBQ Plates - Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken which are accompanied by a soft, warm Roll, Mac and Cheese, and Coleslaw. The Macaroni is soft and well cooked with a good balance of cheese. Coleslaw is fresh cabbage with light dressing. BBQ was moist. While other reviews mention BBQ Sauce Overload to the point of getting messy, we had light sauce on both plates. We also shared the fresh Banana Pudding. Sadly the bathroom is accessed via the back of the building walking on several uneven surfaces which is not wheelchair accessible. (Surface starts off cement, uneven brick, leaves/grass, and uneven concrete. But if you have light mobility issues the bathroom itself has handicap railings. Plenty of parking on street or across the street in the neighboring church parking lot with permission. The ambiance is eclectic and cozy.

Parking is very easy, the whole Rivet House complex is very pleasant to get into and out of. So why not 5 stars? I think the food menu is just SMALL, there's not a lot of diversity, you essentially have ONE noodle dish, ONE fish dish, ONE curry. There is often going to be an interesting special like Fried Chicken or Flank Steak and again, I think the food is delicious, but it's nice to have options, especially if you're coming with a larger party. I ordered the brisket plate with macaroni and collard greens as my sides. Meal was around $19 including an added drink before any tip. This was my first time having brisket and I’m not sure I would ever have it again if this is how it’s suppose to be cooked. It lacked any flavor to me and was only edible because of the sauce. The sides I tried were terrible. I opened my macaroni and immediately realized I had been served something similar to boxed mac and cheese except the boxed macaroni from Kraft may have tasted better. The “macaroni” only tasted like noodles and pasta water with absolutely no seasoning or even hint of cheese flavoring. The “cheese” used must be the liquid packaged stuff you get out of boxed macaroni but severely watered down. I tried adding salt and pepper to it and it was still inedible and bland. It was quite literally the worst macaroni I’ve ever been served. The collard greens tasted like they were made with pickle juice for some odd reason and that was off putting to me. They had a kick to them but definitely not the collard greens I am use to. If this is how BBQ is in Texas I’m not jumping to go try it anytime soon and I don’t see myself returning to this restaurant. I ended up throwing the majority of the food away unfortunately. Many people seem to love this place so maybe I just caught them on a bad day.

I have been eating her food for many years prior to her opening a restaurant (She previously sold food at the Athens Farmers Market). It is definitely the best Ethiopian food I've ever had. It is located in the small Shopping Center in Athens. It is not very busy until it's dinner time but many of the customers take the food to go. It is not a very huge restaurant but is definitely enough seating for a crowd of at least 50. They also have an additional room in the back which can be used as a banquet room or for parties. I had a party here about 2 years ago and we felt very comfortable in the banquet room. The owner, Haregu, was kind enough to show us how they make coffee in her country. Everyone was very excited about this opportunity and many of them were able to take pictures with her as well. The service here is phenomenal and the food is even better. There's a variety of food from veggies, meats, fish and even desserts; all made from scratch. No matter what type of diet you're on, you should be able to find something to eat that is definitely filling. The best thing about Mannaweenta is that the food typically cost no more than $10 a plate. And trust me...there is plenty of food. This restaurant is a must try. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I need this food in my life everyday but for now I'll settle for every few months. Was a little nervous since we were the only people in there. We were very happy with the service and food. Cooked to order hot and fresh. Portion size was just right for us. Started out with the crab Rangoon and it was outstanding. It had the most crab I had every received in crab Rangoon. My wife got lo mein and said it was very tasty. I went to a different raising canes location 1 week before and got the 4 piece and the portions were huge. So yesterday I went to this location and got the 3 finger.. there were about half the fries of the other location and the fingers themselves were smaller. Didn't come close to filling me up but price was the same as the other location. When I lived in Texas I also went to raising canes alot over the past 15 years and always appreciated the large portion sizes. This location made me feel like I did not get a value that matched the price of the food (its not particularly cheap for fast food). That being said, the food was yummy and fresh.
