Couldn't fault the service from Jack, as new parents to twins he went above and beyond to help us and ensure we had a hot meal. He congratulated us when we arrived and made us feel really welcome, then when the food arrived we were both feeding the twins and he offered to put our food on the table next to us as we had the bottle making items still on the table, then a few minutes later he realised we were still feeding and offered to put it under the heat lamp until we were ready. It’s a halal place with lovely staff who gave great recommendations. The chicken tikka and lamb biryani were both delicious, served with tadka daal and poppadoms. And, the little things matter; the waist tie for the bathrobe was already threaded through the loops, you didn't have to do this yourself. There's also a great bakery in the building which sells their own sourdough and other baked goods. Delicious croissants! If I lived closer, I would definitely be a regular, choosing what to eat from the many yummy sounding items on the menu was not easy!

My Parfait, Sheppard's Pie and Choux Bun with fig leaf ice cream, not forgetting the "amuse bouche" of some homemade bread and butter, was honestly, a "taste sensation", in our humble opinion. We were driving by and my wife saw a delightful dress in the window, so we stopped! It’s a first class cafe with antiques you can buy. Set over several floors, each room brings a different level of quirkiness! Got chatting to the owner (who owns the Austin in the pics as well). I've gone past and liked look of place. The owners Sarah and Paul are really lovely and friendly. I paid for room including breakfast. The room was nice but think price could be lower. Didn't really enjoy the breakfast and sausages bit strange. We booked a table for an evening meal when checked in, menu not really got much choice, I was a bit taken back that I didn't want peas and asked for bit seasonal vegetables instead of which was charged extra £5.00. It was reasonable priced for drinks. Was nice atmosphere and friendly place. Plenty of parking. And seating inside and outside. This is situated between Illminster, Chard and Broadway. The welcome and check in was quick with minimal fuss. The rooms are all located across the car park from the pub/restaurant, so you're not disturbed by any late night noise. My spacious large double room smelt clean and had a tea/coffee tray with packets of tasty biscuits (thank you). However it was a little cold, but there was no problem turning the heating on. The pub is delightfully run by the owners, they're both extremely friendly and really do want you to have a pleasant stay.
