I had the beef special it was done perfectly with the right amount of spices but still great beef flavor. The mashed potatoes were delish, and the fresh local squash had taste. Not store bought squash. And a great fresh salad. Appetizers were calamari and an Italian cheese bread, again excellent tasting. Dessert was doughnut holes, homemade cake and a tieramasu, I could not eat another bite. Our server Florintina was excellent and entertaining. We had an excellent experience overall. A MUST STOP while in Johnstown PA.

It was not very busy and we were given a booth promptly in the bar area with our 3 young children. My husband has worked in the restaurant industry for several years in almost every role so he was slightly put off by the seating arrangement for a family but took it as a rookie mistake. Our youngest was visibly upset because she was tired and hungry after a long day of things happening outside of our control. My husband took her out of the restaurant for a few minutes to help her calm down; feeling bad that we were disrupting other customers in the section we were sitting in. After returning we ordered our meals and everyone waited patiently. The children’s meals came out within 15 minutes, delivered by the manager(which we did not know at the time). I noticed some of the silverware looked somewhat dirty but we had enough silverware that we didn’t need to request new ones. As a server walked by she stated the other kids meal should be on the way out but we let her know all the kids meals were delivered and we were awaiting our meals. A few minutes later a server came out and said our meals were almost ready, they were just waiting on the order of fries that accompanied the one meal. Almost 20 minutes later our food arrives and the only thing that is hot are the fries. My husband’s quesadillas were cold and my burger lukewarm. At that point the children have finished eating and we’re ready to go. I maybe got 4 bites of my food before they became inpatient and anxious to leave. My husband politely requested boxes and asked to speak with the manager. When the manager returned we realized that he was the server to deliver the kids meals. My husband explained to the manager our concerns in a calm and respectful manner (seating, timing of food etc.). The manager acknowledged that the hostess was new and the cook was his least experienced cook which all contributed to the issues we encountered. Having personal experience of such staffing, my husband said he understood and let it go. Before requesting the check my husband went to the bathroom. He overheard the manager and a server talking rudely about him/us in the kitchen; stating that we were being “ridiculous”. The conversation was loud enough for customers in the dining area to clearly hear. My husband requested the check from our server when he returned. She said the manager “took care of it.” which we had not requested nor expected as we had every intention of still paying for our meals. Despite having overheard their unprofessional conversation, my husband still left the server a quality tip and left without confrontation. Thank you for covering our check. However please be more conscious of what you say and where you say it. Take the time to relay the concerns to your staff so that they know how it impacted service and what they need to improve on. So many places don’t do a seasonal cocktail menu (or do it well) but the Jtown Inn always has great recipes. Most recently I had a cider drink there with vodka and also a pumpkin espresso martini - both excellent and they had the most adorable garnishes! As far as food goes, the Friday night fish dinners are delicious. You also can’t go wrong with the wings or Stromboli. Even the chicken parm is great. The prices are very reasonable as well. Every waiter, waitress, or bartender we’ve had there has been very kind and attentive. We highly recommend the Johnstown Inn!

Went with some friends, one of which had a Caesar salad, another had shrimp and the third had a burger. I myself had the chicken bacon wrap. Ordered an XL buffalo chicken pizza, XL cheese pizza, and 6 mild wings on 9/3/25 at 3pm. Both pizzas were stretched way too thin and overcooked. The bottom of the pizza was really dark, as hard as a brick, and was so dry that it was very hard to chew and was practically inedible. My children love pizza, but they refused to eat it, and I ended up throwing it all away. The wings were also not good. The chicken tasted like it may have been made a day or two in advance and they barely put any sauce on the wings. The mild sauce also had a strange taste to it. When Sal first introduced the wings (back at his old location), we tried the mild ones and they were really good, but the ones that we got on our most recent visit at the new location were not good at all. We have been ordering pizza from Sal’s for several years now and on average ordered about once every week for YEARS. Back at their old location we NEVER had any issues with the food and would always recommend Sal’s to our friends and family. Ever since they moved to the new location and have different people making the food now, the quality has really gone downhill. I don’t own a pizza shop and am not an expert at making pizza, but I do know that stretching pizza dough to almost paper thin and then overcooking it to where it is extremely hard and dried out is not going to make for an appetizing experience. I called to voice my concerns and request a refund, and the guy I spoke with was in denial that the food could be that bad and told me that they would have to call me back because they were really busy.
