I was in the area on vacation and we hit up Fardowners for the second year in a row due to the great experience we had the first time! Receiving our food did take considerably longer, however we had a big party and as I understand it, speed of service is not a sticking point in the southern states, so this was a non issue. We started off with appetizers of onion rings and "tatchos", which is basically a nacho platter with tater tots instead of nachos. This is an interesting concept and it didn't take long for our party to devour them. Absolutely nothing bad to say about the onion rings. For a main course, I HIGHLY recommend the Reuben or the Southern Belle, the former being one of the best I've had anywhere! Overall, Fardowners was once again a great experience and will continue to be on my list of "must visits" when I am in the area!

Meh, overall, better than Domino’s but about same level as Costco. Really was hoping for spectacular but not anywhere close to being the best anywhere except Crozet perhaps. We visited Smoked while in town visiting family. Our visit was on a weekend evening between 5 and 8pm, the establishment was not busy. Smoked is set up in a way that prefers you to order via their online App. This is a trend that I have noticed is gaining popularity in the restaurant scene. If you prefer not to use the app a staff member can still talk your order for you at the front desk. On this trip I ordered a customized burger with fries and a drink. The food did not take long at all from time of order to time it hit the table, and was hot and of good quality. Prices were about on par with expectations regarding the quality of the meal. As a side note, while reviewing the menu and deciding on what I was going to eat I noticed an option for 5 "jumbo" Chicken wings for $12. I am unsure how jumbo these wings are, as we did not order them, but I cannot imagine any wing is jumbo enough to warrant almost two and a half dollars per wing. Thankfully most of the menu items, in my opinion, are very reasonably priced with the exception to this anomaly. Overall when I find myself back in Crozet it is very likely I will end up back at Smoked at some point. The dining experience was perfectly average and with a mostly well priced menu there are still plenty of options to try out.

We stumbled on it while looking for a place to pick apples. We ordered the you pick 3 and got the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The baked beans had jalapeño in them and were not too sweet. The collards with pork were done just right. The corn bread is definitely the sweet variety so if you like savory cornbread this might not be for you. They make a wide range of their own sauces and have a surprising number of interesting sides that are not typically found at a restaurant. They have quite a few desserts too. You cooked the pizza without toppings for the majority of the time, put the toppings on, popped the pizza back in for 3 to 5 minutes and served it. Don't. It was trash. Would never recommend this place. And in what world did you think it was a good idea to throw two slices of generic mozzarella on top of what was (according to grandma) a decent baked ziti?
