When ordering your coffee, you choose the type of beans and the grind. They also have a coffee lab upstairs where I assume the staff test and try out different beans and roasts. Usually peppermint mocha tastes a little too sweet because of how peppermint can be overwhelming, but this one had just the exact balance between the minty flavour and the coffee fragrance. Our friends ordered the sliders and the potato and meat dish. The sliders were all of the same burger type, which we found odd since we thought we could select one of each type. The potato was a sort of mashed potato dish, which was nice but just felt like a middle of mash and a potato cake. The meat, however was really tender and juicy. Definitely worth coming back again.

It was pretty empty when we arrived for lunch, only 2 tables occupied. This cafe has a bali-nese feel. The bakes smells super good. We ordered the Egg Sando, Chicken Katsu Sando and a Mushroom Crossiant. We had to order their bakes as well, as desserts. The food here is really not bad, very worth to visit this cafe in Batam thou it was a little far out (15 mins from Grand Batam Mall).

We had the Strawberry Shortcake and it was way better than I thought. The sponge was moist and melty, I actually prefer this kind of texture than the super soft dry ones. The whipped cream wasn’t oily and the strawberry jam tasted very fresh, not too sweet, with real chunks of strawberry in it. The Honey Seasalt Croissant was kinda confusing because I couldn’t taste any seasalt at all? but the buttery flakes were really nice and crispy. Maybe they can make the sea salt flavor stand out more. For the coffee, I asked for vanilla on the side (coffee police please don’t judge me) and it made it even better. I don’t know much about coffee but this is hands down one of the best lattes I’ve had in Batam. We also ordered the Ukimidori Matcha and it was umami, with a fruity aftertaste. We thought the matcha wasn’t deep and bold enough, probably because of the matcha-to-milk ratio. Another thing is the matcha wasn’t the microfoamy, thick, velvety, fluffy type and more on the lighter side which was a bit disappointing. I prefer a nutty flavor profile so maybe i’ll come back to try their other matcha.
