Came on a Sunday morning, and it was packed. Looked worth waiting for so I did. Surprisingly, they got to me pretty quickly. Staff is great at managing a crowd. I ordered something simple, breakfast special,eggs, potato, toast. Was cooked good and tasty, for about $8, which is very inexpensive for CT prices, for modern day. Waitress was friendly, and on top of her game. The back up lady, was also great making sure my coffee was topped off and I didn't need anything. I arrived 15 mins later each time between 11:15 and 12. I waited an average of an extra 17 minutes each time. The wait I dont understand. Busy or not there is an army of awesomely friendly and conversational employees busting their butt. The Pickle Barrel gets 4/5 because of the friendly staff and quality food. For that extra point they need to tweak their service system. However if you are in the Stratford area this is a must try during your lunch travels.
