Really missed their noodle dumpling half and half so came to treat myself today. I was disappointed. The equivalent option is more expensive, for one, and if you want to grab a beer with it you're looking at close to $30. Price aside, the food is still good, but it's not as good as what I remember. The dumplings weren't the same. I do like the mala noodles which was not something they previously had. The pork was cut into small chunks though, I preferred the original shredded style. Otherwise the vibe is the same. I will probably still come back from time to time, as while the food is different, and not the comforting recipes I remember from when I was in college, the current food IS still pretty good. I think if I'd never been before I would be happy with the food quality and taste, though the price is still a bit hard to swallow in this economy. Overall still a great place for finding food that's different from the majority of what can be found in Little Rock. I would still recommend people try it if they've never been, but would caution folks who are familiar with the old menu that they may be slightly disappointed. Oh and anyone who complains about the food being too spicy is being sensitive. I always ordered "spicy" so I did again today, and the spice level is so much lower than what they originally called "spicy". This tastes like what use to be their medium option, in my opinion! As someone who travels all over the United States, and sometimes internationally, I can confidently say that this is one of my absolute favorite spots for delicious food and exceptional service. I visited on October 22nd, and the level of service I received truly stood out. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I tried (it was some kind of delicious alcoholic beverage that I can’t seem to find online), but it was fantastic and it came with a great experience. Lizzy was absolutely amazing! When I asked about the drink, she said, “Actually, do you want to try it first? I don’t want to give it to you and you not like it.” That thoughtful gesture really impressed me and showed how much she cares about her guests’ experience. I also love the new menu layout. The booths are very comfortable (I'm a bigger guy) and I was very cozy. The 70 foot long 'Adult Beverage' bar with stools, is well stocked of alcohol, wine and beer selections "for you to woo" your date. The rest rooms were very clean, comfortable and maintained as well as very disabled accessible. . I am HIGHLY recommending as a fine dining establishment, I know you will be as happy as we were, enjoy your experience.

When I try asking that lady that served our table about the $13, she just walked away. As if all of a sudden she don't speak English. Then when I called them back and tried to explain it to them. Then when I went to check out they had the audacity to still have a extra spot for another gratuity. I wish I would when the waiter didn't even deserve any gratuity by her attitude. The only thing the server is doing is getting your drinks and she leaves the dishes on the table until you leave. Then they charging gratuity for a table six and over. So basically to server is getting about $30 in tips just to go get somebody a drink. Because it's a serve yourself buffet. Which I have never seen a buffet charge gratuity. Everywhere you go these days these folks want to gratuity for doing nothing. The atmosphere was bad and not welcoming and the man that answered the phone. when I tried to talk about the extra gratuity hung up in my face, and I had to call them back. The food was not even stocked up when I went here, they had multiple trays empty that needed to be restocked on the buffet. The food was not seasoned at all everything taste plain. So basically I wasted my money because the food was disgusting. It was my first time there and I will not return, somebody told me about the restaurant and said that the food was good. NOT! But this is the kind of "Chinese" food many people in central Arkansas really crave, so Chinese Kitchen does a robust business, though it's primarily a take-out place with only three small tables for dine-in customers. Your food comes to you at those tables already in styrofoam take-out boxes, too. The calling cards here for some folks are the two dishes that incorporate fried chicken, warr shui guy and precious chicken. I had the latter, and it was okay, though not in any way exceptional. The batter for the chicken is overly salty, the vegetables served with the chicken are way too overcooked, and there's no hint of seasoning of any kind (e.g., ginger, garlic) other than salt. On the plus side, there were lots of chunks of fried chicken in my serving of precious chicken. So, great welcome and treatment by the owners-cooks, not much atmosphere, and unexceptional Americanized Chinese food: that's Chinese Kitchen.

I got this soupy mess and the crunchy items you get with soup.
