The New Orleans grilled oysters were honestly some of the best I've ever had, and the smoked salmon chowder is a unique twist on a classic. I’m a huge twilight fan but this place looks nothing like in the movie. It is still a cute atmosphere. The food however was not great. We ordered clams and expected them to be nice and fresh given how close it is to the water, however they tasted less than fresh. I also added shrimp to the mushroom ravioli (for 12$) and it was awful. The shrimp was overcooked and had pieces of shell on it still. There was also some odd spice on the shrimp that was like eating sand. My boyfriend got the smoked salmon fettuccini Alfredo and was also thoroughly disappointed. The salmon was waaaay overcooked and had a funky taste to it. If you eat here definitely stick to the simple mushroom ravioli. It was delicious. The focaccia bread was also delicious. The service was great. Just had high expectations for the seafood and was sadly disappointed. Also very pricy for the quality.

I stopped in while traveling through the area and was treated so well. Toni, Crystal and Cookie all took part in giving me one of the best dining experiences I ever had. Seafood Pasta was amazing as was the prawn appetizer. There were flavorful surprises in evrey bite, from the home made roll with I think honey, pineapple whipped butter, the salad with cinnamon brine carrot, to the main course of pasta. Oh! Pricing is a bit on the pricey side but it is because the food and service are so great. There is no exterior seating but it seems like the staff does abide by covid-19 social distancing guidelines. Parking can be a difficult task as it is either you find a parking in the nearby public parking area or in the street, otherwise expect to walk a few blocks. All and all, I am happy the restaurant Michaels and its excellent aspects exist under the name of Sapor. This is a place you definitely want to visit for a date and/or family get together.

We arrived hoping for an intimate, authentic dining experience and we were offered that and more at Sapor. The service was outstanding right from the beginning, and the atmosphere was chic and warm. We were offered the special, which was halibut with beurre blanc sauce, fingerling potatoes, Brussels sprouts and smoked garlic and were blown away. The taste and presentation were on point. My partner and I have dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy) and the chef was able to accommodate. Not only that, the menu clearly states the GF/DF options making ordering easy. And there were so many great options it was difficult to chose. My only fault would be making the entrances more visible! We first tried entering on the street side, and the door was locked and sign was inconspicuous. We left thinking it was closed and luckily we turned down the alley because there was a standup sign on the bistro side marking that entrance. If you’re coming from out of town like us, or just want somewhere to enjoy a beautiful relaxing meal this is the spot. We will definitely return on our next trip to Washington.

There wasn’t another staff member present except for the 2 kitchen staff. (Which you can see through the serving kitchen window. which is exposed.) Was curious and loved the mural and documentary playing on the tvs so I dug into a little bit of history on this place. Which is at a location and should be packed to the brim. (It wasn’t and it’s a weekend.) So my review really is to the owner. (Your foh and boh staff are killing your business.) If you don’t want to be married to the store (god knows I don’t), get a good GM or Chef to manage and oversee. Train your staff, revise/reprint your actual menus and monitor what’s going out of the kitchen. My dish should’ve never made it to my table, the menus should’ve been reprinted or at the very least drawn over in sharpie. You look like a good guy who came up with enough revenue after blood, sweat and tears to open his dream. I’m writing this because my staff would tank mine too if I wasn’t on top of them. At the end of the day, they don’t care. And as a fellow business owner in the industry I’d want to hear this from someone else who’s an owner and been there. For anyone still reading who isn’t the owner.. after everything, I tipped the server. Pretty well in my opinion. My husband got 2 small/medium crab cakes (for $28) and a Diet Pepsi. So after sending my dish back.. the bartender/server brought the check back within minutes handing it to my husband saying “whenever you’re ready”. Almost kicking us out and dismissive. To which I took and paid. So $43 later, that’s what I spent of a Coke and crab cakes. Posting what I serve in NY of Maine lobster vs what I received of crab.

The fried shrimp are fantastic, my wife smiled the entire time she was eating the whole dungeness crab, my 7 year old even loved the grilled cheese enough to finish it which never happens, and the clam chowder was just right. I couldn't have made it better if I had done it myself, and I'm so picky so that's saying a lot. The staff are super friendly and kind. The service was quick, even when a line formed up people ordered and received food very quickly. The outdoor seating right on the water with heaters and "blankets just in case" as my daughter put it was the dining highlight of our 5 day trip. As we say in Utah, This is the place!
