Zen Forrest has awesome food! Great atmosphere and service.. all good things to say about this place. I'm glad I tried them. The crab rangoons were perfect, as was the chicken and all the food I had. Would highly recommend you try this place. Beautiful day to eat outside , the inside was nice while I didn't get pics, this is an awesome spot for a quick bite or date night. They're closing this location and moving to downtown PR. I was there on the last day they were open and got cider and beef pho. The keel farms elderberry and mango cider was really good, not overly sweet and very refreshing. The pho looked nice but it wasn't good. The broth was off and salty, the noodles were thicker than what you'd expect with pho and overly soft (not slurp-able at all and tangled in knots). Also they dump in the bean sprouts, lime, and bay leaves instead of serving on the side, and give you 2 pieces of jalapeño slices in a plastic cup. The beef pho came with brisket and round eye beef which were decent. In terms of pho I'd give it a 3/10. Obviously it's not a Vietnamese restaurant, but that doesn't mean you'd expect the pho to be bad. They have Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai, but you can't excuse bad food for that. For example, if you get bad Japanese food, you can't say its because they're not exclusively Japanese. Otherwise, why eat here at all? Why not just go to a Japanese restaurant? Anyway, the service was extremely slow, probably due to the fact that it was their last day, but still. Waited 20 minutes for the pho and it was a long wait getting the server to bring the check and take it back, etc. They were nice though. Overall, I hope their new location with a different menu will be better. Not sure if I'd recommend it or not.

I was in Trinity today and decided to try an early dinner at a new place.
First the name caught my attention, how cool is "Zen Forrest" and the ratings were good.
The inside tables were separated and the staff wore masks. My waiter was very friendly and helped me with the menu.
The food here was amazing. I ordered Sesame Chicken and instead of rice they offered Wasabi Mashed Potatoes.
My salad came out fresh and my entree exceeded my expectations. The chicken was sliced and juicy with a lite, yet, crunchy breading, not the chicken parts coated in a ball of deep fried bread you normally receive. It was served with vegatables and the most delicious mashed potatoes. I never thought to make Wasabi Mash.
If I'm out this way again, I will be stopping by this little gem.

Zen is my favorite Asian place in the whole Tampa bay. I go there for lunch, dinner and we order take outs often for office events. Everything chef Victor makes is high quality. The beep pho is by far my favorite. I even took a cooking class to learn how to make it. The only negative comment I have is that they seem to always be short staffed and running late and apologizing for it. The few girls they have there are running around like crazy to accommodate everyone and it feels hectic.

I ordered it something with no onions, cause i cant eat onions. Well if there was some onions in it i would take it out but that is not my complaint. It came riddled with onions, i tried to take some out but there was so much i couldn't. I called back cause i was told to and they told me i was wrong and that there where no onions in the dish below. THEN they told me they wanted it back, and they would bring me a new one. What place demands the customer to bring the food back. I will gladly give it time, i cant eat it, thats not the point though.

Ordered the 4 seasons dish which is lobster scallops shrimp and crab and got some mystery meat dish I couldn’t even identify what was in it besides the veggies. A qt of wonton soup had 10 shriveled up wontons in it that we couldn’t eat bc they were so peppery. General Taos chicken was edible but the sauce looks brown and disgusting. The egg rolls tasted sour and spoiled. 1st time ordering from this place and will never do it again. Worst Chinese we’ve had in years!

I’ve been a loyal customer for seventeen years and honestly have never been disappointed! Danielle and Frances are excellent! Multi-tasking takes on a whole new meaning with these two. Up until recently, they were the ones that would answer the phone, remember my name AND my favorite order! Incredible.
I’m not sure exactly when, but something changed. Their system is now answered by a centralized ordering process which isn’t friendly.. they don’t remember my name and they certainly don’t know my preference of orders. I actually just placed a call to their centralized ordering system to complement Danielle which didn’t go well at all. The person that answered the phone was not friendly, was not appreciative of the fact that I was calling to complement their staff.
Very unfortunate.
I also have noticed that Francis is no longer working here. I’m not sure if that maybe has something to do with the new ordering system but Danielle by herself is absolutely incredible. She’s works the front and cooks simultaneously, while maintaining a positive, smiling demeanor!
She’s a great ambassador for the business!
I hope the owners realize and appreciate the way she treats the business as if it were her own.
I’ve been in the restaurant business for 45 years and currently hold the position of executive chef at a landmark Tampa restaurant.
You certainly don’t need to have been in the restaurant business for a lifetime to realize the significance of customer service.
Hopefully the new ordering system won’t turn people away because the food is excellent and always has been for the entire time I’ve lived in the area. My recommendation is definitely try this restaurant if you haven’t and say hi to Danielle she’ll greet you with a smile.!
Just please try hard not to be put off by the way your order taken with their new system, because once you get your food, you won’t be disappointed!

When we attempted to address this the employee on the phone said that chow mein is rice... Which it most definitely isn't.
The broccoli in the vegetable mei fun was absolutely unwashed and inedible. It quite literally felt like sandpaper as my mom was trying to eat it.
There was hair in another dish that was given.
I am visiting from Colorado and my mom chose this location because it's where she regularly went.
If this is their new standard, they aren't going to last long.
Nobody needs to be eating unwashed vegetables. The risk of disease is too great.

I just gave a review about how wonderful this place is. However it seems I spoke too soon. I received tonight’s order missing an important part of the entree. I called and they said they would bring it. I really didn’t want to eat my Egg Foo Yung with out it’s gravy. It’s just veggie and egg that way. I could make that. The gravy never came. So I now have cold egg foo yung looking sad and forgotten on my kitchen counter, I can’t even go get the gravy tomorrow due to the Holiday. I will have to hold on to it and hope they will give me gravy on Friday so I can at least eat it as leftovers. I was going to make my own but I don’t have all the ingredients. I realize they are busy. I realize it was an accident but I am so disappointed. I was really looking forward to it.
My house is a 4 minute drive from the restaurant. I paid a delivery fee and a 20% tip. What good is a delivery if you have to go get part of the order after it’s delivered.
I will give them another chance but felt so put out over this I had to sort of amend my review.

To make matters worse some male employee stayed in the bathroom while my little sister, who is a minor was using the bathroom…. He wasn’t even cleaning, he just was standing there and listening to her… total freaking creep, even after she asked if the bathroom was closed. Also had the vibe like there was a hidden camera or something in there.
all in all just a horrible experience for a high price. I mean they charged $75 for the buffet and we didn’t even get to eat off of it!

I just got done eating at this place and I have to say I was really disappointed. There were next to no labels on anything so most of the food you had no idea what you were looking at let alone getting, my 1 year old didn’t eat anything because the fries were rock solid and the chicken was disgustingly bloody and probably raw (see attached picture of a SEPARATE wing my dad got) and the ice cream cups looked old. The mint ice cream I got looked expired and half of it was dark and looked like Italian ice while the other side looked normal and it was very quiet in the restaurant. Like depressingly quiet. Sorry, just say much positive. I arrived around 6:30 and noticed there weren't many customers. Food may have been good if they had better turnover, sushi guy was making 3 pieces at a time. Just moved to the area and was looking for a good Chinese takeout spot and this is it. The food, portions, prices, and people are all great. The dinner combo comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll or soup . The prices are really reasonable and the owners are very kind. I highly recommend general tso's chicken, sesame chicken, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, and the boneless spare ribs. Everything I've tried from here has been delicious. You won't be disappointed, I highly recommend it.

We got chicken with broccoli and spare rib tips from the lunch menu. The size was perfect for lunch. It came with egg rolls and fortune cookies. The chicken with broccoli was a bit bland for my taste but the rib tips were really good. I think it’s pretty good for FL Chinese food. Atmosphere is very laid back. I'm still trying to find a decent dine-in Chinese restaurant experience in Western Pasco County. The food was ok at this Top China location, but there's no service. The place is dirty looking and has faded photos of what may have been food, once upon a time. When you walk in you are greeted by a huge plastic sheet of plexiglass, probably a leftover from 2020 covid-19 pandemic. Most restaurants have done a "refresh" since that era. I'll keep looking for a decent place to sit down and enjoy my Chinese meal with a smiling person to bring it to me.

My usual Chinese restaurant doesn’t deliver and I was desperate today, so I tried a new place. I’ll have to find somewhere else that delivers because I won’t order from here again. The prices are pretty much the same as everywhere else, the delivery woman was super sweet (she had to wait a couple minutes because I wasn’t back from my walk in time), the food was barely mediocre. The “fried” dumplings were hardly fried and some were burnt. The rice tasted like cardboard. The sweet and sour chicken pieces were smaller than everywhere else I’ve eaten, they make it seem like they give you a lot by doing this but there’s practically no meat inside. The spring rolls were not terrible but could have been better, there was something weird about the taste that I just can’t describe. China King doesn’t have the greatest dumplings because they’re so thick but overall I’ve enjoyed their food and will deal with that and the no delivery option as opposed to ordering from China Dragon again.
