We went on a Saturday night and were immediately seated. The staff was really friendly, but there was only one server for the restaurant. It was a little slow, but not too bad. We ordered two entries which also came with miso soup and ginger salad. The soup was amazing. We easily could have had a second portion. The salad though, it was drowned in a soy dressing. There wasn't anything ginger about it. When I say drowned, there was easily a quarter cup left in the bowl when I was finishing. It was just too much. I ordered the Korean chicken fried rice and my wife ordered the bulgogi. The Korean chicken was just one flavor, salt. It was so incredibly salty. It was hard to eat without lots of water to wash it down. The bulgogi was delicious and less salty. In all, I'd try it again, but with different dinners. I sat at the bar to have a drink while I waited for my meal. When I first walked in I was promptly greeted and it looked pretty nice. Once I was sat at the bar top I realized that it wasn't as nice as it appeared. While I was at the bartop I was assaulted by a cloud of fruit flies. I work in the industry and understand that they can be a pain to control but I have never seen so many in one place before. In front of me, on bar mats, there was a very wet receipt, a ton of ice littered everywhere and a used stirring spoon. The mats were very wet and I assume that whatever was on them was attracting the flies. It was apparent that not a lot of deep cleaning has been done in the bar for a long time. I ordered a sake to drink while I waited for a beef teriyaki bento box and a sushi roll. While I was waiting I witnessed the bartenders and host constantly on their phone right next to the host stand. It was so bad that customers would come in and stand there to be greeted and these three would ignore them. One couple had to walk up to them and ask to be sat. Rather than being on their phones they could have been cleaning the mess in front of me and/or doing some deep cleaning behind the bar. It is obvious they were lacking training. It took awhile to get my check to pay because the bartender was more interested in her phone but once I got my food, and paid, I left. I got back to my Airbnb to, finally, eat after traveling 400 miles to be with my mom during her surgery and recovery. I found out my roll was missing. I immediately called UMI and got the bartender that served me. She apologized that she forgot and I told her I would be back to pick it up (the last thing I wanted to do but I paid for it). Once I got there I was not offered a refund on the roll or any type of compensation for my time and gas to go all the way back to get it. Once I got back to the house I ate the food. It is the only reason I gave the place 2 stars and not 1. The food was really good but I don't think I will recommend this place to anyone or go back when I come to town. There are definitely other sushi options around Billings.

Reviews were decent so I thought I’d give it a try. I sat down and was greeted immediately and was informed I could bring my own beer in which was nice, I then proceeded to order. I chose two deep fried rolls as those are my favorite. They came pretty quickly, but as I waited I looked around the sushi bar area where I sat and noticed some absolutely heinous looking things. First of all the tins where they were getting the sushi wraps from were so gross ( will include picture) I noticed counters weren’t wiped off, there was a massive amount of clutter and the view into the kitchen made me nervous as you could tell it want sanitary. I got my food and the ginger was discolored like it had sat out and the sushi rolls made my stomach sick for two days. I then waited 15 minutes after I was done to pay and I was one of two patrons in the whole place. sadly I won’t go back as it’s not worth the risk. If you are looking for crazy Sushi flavors of the modern hipster era this may not be your place. They stick to the more traditional version and focus heavily on quality over wildness. The Fire roll is a sure winner. Misleading inname it’s not spicy at all but quickly seared after rolling to perfectly cook the top fish and give the sesame seeds light toasting. Main upside is the standard order is a half roll allowing you to try many rather then a few! Only dislike is the seating. Given the location and interior layout you aren’t afforded much privacy if not seated in the Hibachi. That said you’ll certainly want to check the place out on date #2 just perhaps not a first date.

As I got back to work to prep my food, I took a couple of pics. As begun to pour the broth over my ramen, I realized that I should have ate up the fried crispy onions as the became soggy so quick. The Gyozas we're great. Full of flavor and still hot. I had to stir up my ramen a bit as the noodles were a little stuck together. Full flavor and real hardy. This is one of the best ramens I have had especially in the Billings area. Definitely will be back and recommend anyone to give it a try.
