We arrived for a late dinner and were greeted by friendly staff and an eclectic, quaint and homey feeling dining space. This unique restaurant is filled with artistic and delightfully charming decor and boasts multiple dining rooms flanked by a hopping little bar. To start we ordered a Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita, Cucumber Gimlet and the Baked Brie appetizer. The margarita was a beautiful blend of sweet and heat and the gimlet was a wonderfully refreshing departure from the summer sizzle. The Baked Brie was generously drizzled with a buttery honey and accompanied by soft, crusty bread and a spiced olive oil. We selected the Glazed Sesame Soy Salmon and the Grilled Skirt Steak for our entrees. The sweet and tangy salmon adorned a medley of fresh vegetables, and perfectly cooked soba noodles. The dish was reminiscent of a really yummy teriyaki-style salmon. The Skirt Steak was drenched in rich brown gravy and served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was well-cooked but could have benefited from a tad more seasoning and perhaps a bit of heat. Overall, Karla’s was very enjoyable and I definitely recommend stopping by this sweet little spot for a bite, cocktails and an overall good time!
