This was during the height of COVID. We walked in and right away were met with hostility by the old hostess or waitress, whatever she was. The family was allowed to wait in the restaurant while we were made to wait in the cold. She gave them service and led them to their table soon after. After waiting awhile, we were finally allowed in. That lady was very rude towards us, I don’t know why she treated us so poorly while she maintained a positive attitude with everyone else. We’re not even from the area and we were just visiting family. Food was good but I would not go back and dine there if that bitter old lady still works there.

You won’t be disappointed. The place was very full with people, some were certainly travellers (Bishop hs lots of hotels) and some seemed to be locals. Staff were friendly and they seemed happy to work there. The food was exceptional and delivered quickly. Coffee was hot and good. Real cream on the table - excellent choice! The place was clean and the decor was cute and entertaining. The menu served all appetite capacities which is helpful for smaller appetites. We had come from the Grand Canyon a few days earlier where we grabbed a quick breakfast (3 McMuffins) and one coffee and paid $30. We paid a little over thirty here at Jack’s and had two full breakfasts -steak (moist and juicy, perfect) and eggs and a sausage and cheese omelette both with all of the trimmings. There is no comparison. We were robbed by McDonald’s (by our own choosing) but had great value at Jack’s. Don’t drive by if you are in the area. Stop and enjoy the great food, friendly staff and fun, outdoorsy atmosphere.

The restaurant has an old west rustic feel. The food was amazing in the service equally as good! I have the Walker Texas Ranger burger with fries. We had just finished a photo shoot that took wayyy longer than anticipated. We walked in 30 min before closing, a group of 12 and starving. They were also the only place still open that evening. If you've ever worked in the service industry, you know that's the last thing you want to see come in at 30 min before closing! We were so appreciative, the food was really really good, everyone enjoyed their orders. We did not linger, but we didn't feel rushed to hurry hurry either. We were tired from our long photo shoot so we were ready to get back to the hotel, happy with full bellies. We stayed in Creekside, it was a great place to stay as well. We are from the same hometown in San Diego so it was great to see a piece of SD up here in Bishop. I also love that there is another cool chill spot to hang in Bishop since I've lived in the area for the last 6 years. Owners and customer service are great! I munched down on ceviche and veggie burger and my friend had the surf n turf burrito. Sat outside with beer under large sycamore tree to escape the heat. Chips and salsa and churros also yummy. Parmesan fries were delicious too. Again, I will come back here again and loved that it's a family business with sunny San Diego vibes.

Stumbled upon this place. Run by a father and son with impeccable service! You can easily sense the passion, strive for perfection, dedication to the craft, and immense courtesy this place provides. We were just expecting a convenient place to grab food then hit the road, arriving right at opening, but this place provided so much more! My friend ordered the Surf n Turf burrito and I got the special Surf n Turf burrito with chicken/lobster/carne asada. Cooked to perfection! Perfect temp on all the proteins, perfect crisp to the tortilla, ratios of all the components perfect, fresh ingredients, sauces incredible! Presentation was way more than expected (see pics). Fresh salsa for the table. Ordered the special desert too - vanilla custard filled churros! The chef/owner even gave us a heads up he going to cool them prior so the custard wouldn’t be molten lava, and when it came out it was perfect fresh/hot temp like a perfect crispy baked goods but not searing all your taste buds! We were so pleasantly surprised by this place! Will definitely be back when back in the area!!
