First of all, it’s superrr noisy at the restaurant, since it’s located in-front of the main road, the material of the restaurant doesn’t absorb sound at all. Felt terrible and cannot enjoy a conversation with my family.
Overall food was nice. I like the Carbonara, Spaghetti Neri Bottarga and the Salmon was good. Pizza was nice.
But 1 thing, this is an Italian restaurant right, why does your cappuccino tasted terrible??? Why so large and what was that much of a milk for? I can’t taste the coffee and is not cheap either. Fix your coffee please😭

It was a rainy night in Ubud. Many restaurants had already closed their kitchens and the streets were quiet, glistening under the warm light of the rain. Just when I was about to give up, L’Osteria appeared, a small glow in the dark, with a table for two waiting as if it had been saved for us.
From the moment we sat down, the aroma of fresh pizza dough and wood fire wrapped around us. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, not rushed, not forced, just simple kindness that felt rare and real. The food arrived hot and full of flavor, every bite reminding me that good things often come unplanned.
That night, in the soft sound of rain and laughter, L’Osteria became more than a restaurant. It was a small shelter, a moment of warmth in the heart of Ubud. A true experience, simple, beautiful, and one I will not forget.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with live jazz music providing pleasant accompaniment to the meal. The staff are very attentive. The caprese salad is enhanced by the addition of lettuce and capers with an excellent dressing. The white pizza is disappointing, with a bland taste and sparse toppings, even though the dough is well made. The dessert is uninteresting, with the yoghurt cheese accompanying the torta caprese having an overly strong taste. The Australian Pinot Noir, served at the right temperature, went well with the meal.

We had a lovely meal here during our stay in Ubud. The burrata and arancini starters were particular favourites.

We enjoyed dinner at Dumbo so much that we came back for a second visit! The first time, we dined upstairs in their stylish restaurant, and the second, we opted for the relaxed vibe of the downstairs bar. Both experiences were fantastic.
The team at Dumbo were incredible—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They took the time to ask about any allergies and offered thoughtful recommendations to suit. Service was quick and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable considering the excellent quality of the food and drinks.
Their signature cocktails, cleverly named after iconic albums, were a highlight. Delicious and creative, they added a fun twist to the experience. The venue, owned by a well-known DJ from Sydney and Byron Bay, also features his personal collection of retro tracks, which you can request to play—such a cool touch!
The atmosphere at Dumbo is laid-back yet sophisticated. The architecturally designed space incorporates natural local materials like timber, stone, and bamboo, paired with lush furnishings to create a moody and edgy vibe that feels perfectly at home in Ubud.
Dumbo’s menu focuses on Italian cuisine, with standout 48-hour sourdough wood-fired pizzas, mouthwatering pastas, entrees, and sides, all made with the finest local ingredients. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, and the flavors really shone through.

Une super expérience, en tant qu'européen la cuisine de chez vous vous manque passez faire un tour à Dumbo, ce sont des prix pour les touristes mais tout est très bon ! Le personnel est souriant et agréable, comme partout à Bali. Je recommande tout particulièrement les gnocchis, ils sont à tomber !

Dumbo is a vegetarian restaurant and bar that serves Italian style food and pizzas from an amazing wood fired oven. Prices reflect the quality of the food. The decor and ambiance are amazing. The downstairs bar is decorated with records. The upstairs restaurant has brick and wood features, a disco ball style light, graffiti style paintings on the wall. Seating was comfortable. The restaurant played retro tunes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pizza oven fires up at 5pm. I will try the pizza on my next visit.

There are so many vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants in Ubud and us carnivors were a bit sceptical of Dumbo on first glance. But we decided to give it a go and did not regret our decision. Put simply, the pizza and pasta are phenomenal. We were all gushing over how good our individual dishes were and revelled in sharing them around so that everyone could have a taste. The interior of the venue is also beautifully designed and we were lucky enough to be seated at the enormous table reserved for larger groups, which felt like we had our own private dining area. A friendly visit from the Australian owner and a complimentary round of limoncello completed what was a very memorable experience.

Everything here is amazing! All the staff is so friendly, Mbok Juli always serves us with a heart-warming smile. I’ve visited this Italian restaurant several times, drawn back each time by the delicious food and cozy European atmosphere. It truly feels like a little piece of Europe tucked into the streets of Asia. I’m not a big fan of pizza or pasta, so I usually come here to enjoy their vegetable dishes—and they never disappoint. The restaurant is a big letdown. The pizza came with dough that was thick, dense, and completely flavourless. The carbonara was worse! It was dry, clumpy, gluey and tasted more like salty milk powder than a proper sauce.
We had seen a few reviews mentioning Bali belly after visiting this place, but still decided to give it a shot and indeed, we noticed food hygiene wasn’t great. Utensils had visible residue and we had to clean them ourselves before eating.
Really disappointing experience overall. Wouldn’t recommend.

I thoroughly enjoy the breakfast here with the breakfast bowl bar giving many options. Their coffee is also delicious but the same price as a coffee in Melbourne, which is a bit cheeky. I had two meals here. The pepperoni pizza is OK. Not a lot of cheese or pepperoni, crust is quite thin, but it wasn’t very expensive. The second meal I ate here was Eggs Benedict, this was better than the pizza, however, mushrooms do not belong on Eggs Benedict. Adding a salad was a nice touch. I would have eaten here every day of the 7 days I was here, but after eating here twice they advised they would not fill my water bottle with drinking water again. Walked in blind, knowing nothing about this restaurant. I'm glad we did because the food was PHENOMENAL! The staff were friendly and actually listened to my requests to have one pizza extra crispy and on normal. They got it so so right, and it was delicious.

Have to give the staff here a big shout out. The electricity on the street went out in the evening a few minutes before we stepped into the restaurant and the staff quickly lit candles and continued cooking in the kitchen in the dark using candle light and torches. The main downside is that they don’t have any dips or sauces. A decent garlic herb dip, or a spicy dip of some kind would be so good.
If I were local this is probably somewhere I’d get takeout from knowing that the spicy sauce I make at home would elevate it.
The choco milkshake was ok, nicely presented but flavour was a bit too dark for my liking. Loved the cookie that came with it though.
Came to 285k / £13 for two pizzas and two drinks, which is fine I guess.

First the place seemed to be very comfortable and lovely atmosphere with friendly staff until 2 gekkos dropped on our table straight from ceiling. After that we saw two mice running outside totally free to come inside the restaurant, but staff did nothing about it. I normally don't write negative reviews, but this place was an exception due to the high price and low quality food. This place cost about 2-3x what you would pay for quality food in this area, but the food quality was far less. I ordered a pizza, and the cheese and ham were put on AFTER it had been cooked, so the hot pizza just had cold pieces of ham and shredded cheese on top. There wasn't even enough pieces of ham for the pizza. For an 8-slice pizza, there were 6 small pieces of ham. All that for 80k + 17% tax and service. My wife ordered a carbonara pasta and it was very thick with a weird fishy smell. Again, very expensive. You can get far better pasta for half the price over at Grandpa's NK just around the corner. I will not be returning and recommend you don't bother with this place.

With solid menu offerings, and being conveniently located along JL Bisma this is a great stop for delicious thin based pizzas.

The waiting time was minimal, our drinks were cold, the pizza toppings were generous and the bases crisp.
Not much else you could ask for really.

We visited Cascades at Viceroy Bali to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday, following a recommendation from the kind staff member Destri — and it turned out to be a fantastic choice.
Everything from the atmosphere to the service and food was spot-on. What stood out the most was the food itself — it let the natural flavors of the ingredients shine, with minimal use of seasoning or artificial enhancers. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and genuinely nourishing.

I mean I can’t say much else for the price. Expensive by Bali standards, but the normal price of food from the countries tourists usually come from. Came here as a birthday treat, and was given impeccable service as well as a complimentary dessert from the kindness of the staff. All this in addition to being hosted at the lavish resort that is Viceroy. The Ox tail soup is great if you know how to eat from a vertebrae, and pizza was better than expected. Very impressed.

We started with the pizzette fritte, which was absolutely delicious and set the tone perfectly for the rest of the meal. The Italian restaurant on-site was spectacular, and even the poolside dining was handled with such attention to detail—our food was beautifully wrapped to keep it fresh and bug-free. The room itself was spotless, the bed was incredibly cozy, and every comfort was thoughtfully provided. We even did laundry at the hotel, which came back perfectly folded and pristine.
The experiences offered were also exceptional—the healer excursion was something we’ll remember for a lifetime. And I must give special thanks to Marty, a staff member whose kindness and attentiveness truly left a lasting impression.

I have just returned from a five night stay in Como Uma and have already looked for dates to return next year. Based on the reviews I expected it to be good but even then it far exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a space to recharge and rejuvenate and this was exactly what I got. The private pool and semi-outdoor shower with the signature Como Shambala toiletries were just the touches of luxury I needed. But I also enjoyed the shared experiences - reading and working in the poolside bar with a cocktail, the most amazing breakfasts that I almost passed up as I don’t normally eat breakfast, and dinner at Kemiri with Balinese dancers. The architecture and environs were truly reminiscent of a traditional Balinese village which made me feel more connected to the country and the culture as did the Hindu offerings, canang sari, with incense burning outside my room every morning. But, above and beyond all of that, the aspect that will bring me back was the genuine kindness and exceptional customer service offered throughout my stay, from beginning to end. There were no less than 8 staff waving me goodbye as I drove off in my Como provided vehicle to the airport. A truly exceptional experience and the only place I will ever stay in Ubud.

The Como Uma Ubud location is more central in the middle of town, if you are looking for more quiet and to feel like you are in a jungle I would suggest Como Shambhala Estate. The restaurant at the Shambhala estate was also one of the best I have tried in Bali

A true hidden gem in the heart of Ubud!
Best luxury hotel in Ubud and not crazy expensive, food earned top marks for all meals, garden pool villa was pristinely spotless and bedding was exquisite.
The landscaping throughout the hotel was well thought through and atmosphere was serene, creating an oasis of sorts amidst the chaos of Ubud’s town centre.
The entire team made us feel so at home and service was absolutely top notch and heartfelt. The front desk led by Dwi, as well as the Uma Bar staff, were friendly and we always looked forward to our meals there. Massage at the COMO Shambhala was excellent and great value as it was much less expensive than other COMO hotels.
A few things to note - the hotel is situated in a natural environment with insects and lizards, sometimes even frogs but you would never be bothered by them.
The private pool in our villa was really chilly, perhaps due to the lack of continuous circulation. I’d say if you have the budget, the villas are nice but if not the regular rooms are more than enough.
Highly recommend, a true gem in Ubud.

I found Kebun on Google maps and it had good reviews and in walking distance from my stay. The atmosphere was perfect. The olives, were expensive but worth it, they were so tasty! I had the Ollie burger for dinner, and it was one of best burgers. My first burger in 2 months of traveling Asia and it was perfect :)

I was dubious to how authentic an Italian in Bali was going to be, but I was impressed. The food was incredible, home/handmade pasta. They also had a nice white wine, which I struggled to find on the Island. The staff were second to none and the atmosphere is lovely for a couples evening out. But service not really good and crazy rules.
First time I tried pizza from promo from girl outside of restaraunt. It was amazing pizza. And I order it for take away. Pizza was perfect.

Poor customer service and rubbish food. Was provided a pumpkin pizza which didn’t taste/look good - just carelessly smashed pumpkin. Gnocchi tasted fine, garlic bread not good. Portofino Ubud is a delightful dining spot with great service and delicious food. The fried zucchini flowers are a must-try, crispy on the outside and filled with warm cheese, perfectly paired with tomato pesto. The passion fruit & strawberry martini is a delightful choice from their happy hour menu. Their ravioli, genovese pasta, lemon tart with vanilla creme, and profiteroles with salted caramel sauce are all highly recommended.

The best Margherita pizza I've ever had, of all places, in Bali!
On one of the main roads of Ubud, this restaurant has street front and indoor dining. No air-conditioning (when we visited in July), but don't let that stop you.
The food was some of the best I've enjoyed in Bali. The Pasta was cooked to perfection, slightest bite, aldente. The flavours were well balanced in my prawn and pipi pasta with butter sauce. Yummy!
As aforementioned, the pizza. Wow. The dough was the fluffiest I've had, with amazing flavour. The pictures do not do it justice, as it looks slightly burned. I can assure you it is not. Fresh tasting tomato sauce, delicious cheese and fresh basil to make the best I've had, and that includes in Italy.
The olives were not my favourite, however great value.
The ragu was very good, nothing fantastic, but a definite 7 or 8/10.
Small selection of beer and wine by the glass would be one of my two constructive criticisms, the second, the staff were sometimes a little preoccupied with eachother instead of focusing on guests.
The restaurant was child friendly, however there are stairs to access the restaurant.
Overall we had a wonderful experience and I would definitely put it on your list in Ubud if you enjoy Italian.

WOW! This restaurant is absolutely amazing, we were in Ubud for 4 weeks and went to a different restaurant every night, this was by far our favourite! Fine dining, beautiful setting, fantastic service. Each dish was so flavoursome, fresh pasta was melt in your mouth, fish was superb, lamb tender as! The servings were all a good size. This was such a wonderful find, we didn’t expect to eat Italian food in Bali but our airbnb was on the walk there and we happened to stop by.
It’s in a more neighborhood friendly area and might be tricky to find but it’s in such refreshing part of Bali.

Located in Penestanan, Gioja sits by the beautiful paddy fields. Scooter ride is an excellent choice of transportation to get there.
Gioja is an Italian word for joy or delight. It was a heavenly dining experience over a 4 course Italian menu.

For starters, Gusti is a gentleman. We had a great time learning about how he came to set up his pizza shop and all his travels. His energy is so positive it is infectious and we left feeling full from the food and from his energy !
For the food, the pizza was incredible and is one of the best we've ever had ( including pizza in Italy ...) Gusti understands how important a toasted undercarriage is, fluffy crispy crust and makes everything from his sauce to dough by himself. ( He even made the oven himself )

Hands down one of the best pizzas I had in my life. Forget about the overpriced and overrated pizzerias of Canggu and Ubud, come to Gianyar and support the most authentic Neapolitan pizza in all of South East Asia and 100% in Indonesia. The owners are the most welcoming people and will make you feel right at home. This is a Neapolitan pizza at it’s best, made in a real handmade wood fire oven, prepped every day (unless it’s closed), the ingredients are top quality - the mozzarella, the anchovies, basil, the amazing passata…not to mention the dough itself. We had a blast speaking to Gusti and his wife and enjoyed every slice of the 3 pizzas we ordered (pictured below). We had a classic Margherita, pizza funghi and an “off menu” marinara with thin sliced garlic, anchovies and fresh basil. What a treat and a hidden gem this place is. Be kind, be humble, but most of all be smart and come get a pizza at Pizza Napoli in Gianyar. The owners have a very healthy approach to work life balance and the place is sometimes closed or opens a bit later, so make sure you give them a call or drop a message on WhatsApp to check if they’re open on the specific day you want to go there.

Who needs to go to Italy when you can have the best pizza here in Keramas! We dropped in randomly after 9pm on a weeknight as we were looking for a snack in the area. What a discovery! Gusti the owner/chef makes outstanding pizza at such reasonable prices. We ended up eating two full sized pizzas and will be coming back again tomorrow to try more. The pizza dough is absolutely perfect as Gusti makes it by hand and finishes the pizzas in his self designed pizza oven. He is so particular about ingredients and flavours and takes great pride in his food! For example, for the chicken sambal matah pizza, Gusti smokes the chicken for an hour beforehand, so he needs a days notice. When we tried this pizza, we could not believe how sambal matah and pizza can work together, yet Gusti has made magic with it! His other pizzas are also delicious, for example the pepperoni. He slow cooks the tomato base so it is delicious just on its own in a margherita pizza. (PS, ask him what the secret ingredient is in the banana chocolate pizza!) Gusti himself is super friendly and has had a very interesting life which we were happy to learn about. So happy to have found this local gem :) Please always whatsapp before turning up to make sure it is open as Gusti is a one man show for now and if something comes up, he can't open the restaurant.

Walked past this cute little restaurant on the main strip and decided we had to try the food. The place itself is super quaint, well lit, and cozy but the biggest let downs for me were the music and the slow food service.
We ordered some fries to share because we were starving (and they were fire), as well as 2 mains; I had the Jinny Poke Bowl, and my friend ordered the Salmon Pasta. Despite ordering all the food at the same time, I got my main almost 20 mins before my friend’s pasta came out which wasn’t ideal. Although both were very good, we did question whether the fish was fresh since it was very fishy-tasting.
If you’re not in a rush and don’t mind eating at different times, then you should definitely give this place a go (or order the same dish so it comes at the same time). It’s very cute.

Goutama street in Ubud is very famous for its unique culinary experience ranging from traditional, to asian to fusion to italian and western brunch…
We happened to be in the area and saw jinny’s garden and decided to have lunch here… and boy! What a truly right decision we made! 😁
The place is only less than 100 metre square but has 3 leves dine in area, each filled with green scenery that makes the atmosphere a lot cooler in the middle of hot dry sunny outside…
We tried their popular poke bowl and their unique signture miso carbonara spaghetti. My wife truly loved each fresh ingredients in the bowl and the plus side, they allow you to make your own bowl too! I personally thought the spaghetti is truly unique. It blends the stellar miso taste with creamy parmesan cheese and a little nori on top. What a delicious dish indeed 😋
Towards the end they let you snag a picture in insta in return for mystery gift, but at the end the gift was a can of sprite 😅 (actually they have their own snack for the gift but unfortunately it’s sold out and they offered sprite instead, perhaps to tackle hot sunny day outside? Hehe a little downside but that’s okay… the good foods are enough to make up for it😉

Very tasty pizza. We reached at 9pm there so got a takeaway. It took some time hut it was so worth it. I was not able to eat local food as less options in vegetarian and the ones available didnt suit my taste buds. But this sweet girl who makes these pizzas saved our day. I ended up taking 3 pizzas for 2 people as I was craving for good food. 1 pizza is enough for 1 person. They are medium/regular size pizzas and well made with love. Will recommend 😇
