A 5-star review doesn’t even do this experience justice. Monastero advertises relaxation and luxury and it delivers. Every single detail (from the supplied pool bag in the closet to the “confession” style room service order) feels curated to the experience. They offer a complimentary shuttle into Amalfi (about a 10 minute drive), the service is top notch, the rooms were exceptionally clean… I could go on. You CANNOT visit Amalfi and not stay here. Thank you for such a wonderful honeymoon experience- we can’t wait to hopefully be back ❤️

I write this as I am still a guest at this most magical property. It has to be the best hotel in the world - how grateful I am that I was able to experience her. The rooms, the hotel grounds, the food, the spa, the staff, the amenities - this is a 7⭐️ experience. It is situated between Positano & Amalfi- you get the best of everything- secluded luxury and shuttle service upon request to and from Amalfi where you can stay or catch a ferry to Positano or wherever. We couldn’t bear to leave so we canceled our hotel in Naples and the MSR accommodated us by adding an extra night with such ease when I know it had to have caused disruption for them. They scheduled all of our private transfers and our amazing Capri boat day - I would have to list every staff member because they were all the best of the best. You must stay here if your plans include the Amalfi Coast. I didn’t even discuss the Michelin star restaurant or the spa (so you can unwrap their grandeur when you stay) This hotel and all of her magnificence has left an indelible mark that we will talk about for the rest of our lives-much love & many thanks for what you have created MSR staff🩷

Walking into this restaurant with the full Amalfi Coast view feels like stepping into a fairytale—it’s absolutely stunning. The staff were friendly and professional, and since we had arrived a bit early with a reservation, they even let us choose our table (which was a good idea, as the place filled up within half an hour). My advice: come around sunset. You’ll get the perfect mix—daylight, the colourful sky as the sun goes down, and the changing hues as you move through your meal. Truly a fabulous setting.
That said, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. Our first course, Scialatielli ai frutti di mare (minimum two portions), was tasty, but the clams, mussels, and scampi weren’t fresh. The same happened with our second dish—the mixed grilled fish and grilled octopus with roasted potatoes. Unfortunately, the seafood wasn’t fresh, and the potatoes seemed reheated at least a couple of times. We ended with a lemon sorbet, which felt more like a supermarket one than homemade.
Still, despite the food not living up to the incredible view, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. For the experience and the atmosphere, I would recommend visiting—just go knowing that it’s really the view that makes this place unforgettable.

Such a lovely hidden gem in Praiano. If you’re looking for a truly authentic Italian seafood experience this is it. We were surrounded by locals so that confirms it. The vongole pasta was delicious and could taste how it was fresh/homemade, same goes with prawn pasta. The setting at sunset was spectacular and left us wanting to go again. I recommend you go early as it does get busy and people wait in line all night.

There were a few differences between this trattoria and most of the others in this seaside grotto: it was busier, many of the guests seemed to be locals, and there were people waiting for tables. Speaking of the grotto, the restaurant is nestled — somewhat Petra-like — into an immense, soaring rock wall and the tables are sheltered by the overhang of the rock. Yet just beyond the rock is the beach (also rocky) and lagoon from which the water taxis come and go. It was a thoroughly enjoyable setting for our dinner, which was aided by the wine list, which offered sufficient choices under 40 Euros (our sweetspot for restaurant wine). In fact, we chose a tasty, tannicy local bottle for 20E (we always try to drink the local wine in Europe). It’s simply not necessary to spend much money on wine in Italy. It was hard to choose from the menu’s wide range of seafood-centric choices. I loved my order of tiny sautéed clams and especially the bread soaked in the juice at the bottom of the bowl. We stopped here for an unplanned lunch when we disembarked at the marina on the way back from Positano. It was absolutely delightful! Such a pretty view overlooking the beach. This was our favorite restaurant our whole stay in Praiano. We came for breakfast and then dinner that same night. Then lunch the next day, every single thing we ordered was phenomenal. Booked the reservation a few weeks in advance and everything turned out amazing. We walked narrow passageways up to La Moressa. A final arrival, we were created and and brought to a very scenic table.
We ordered pasta with seafood, the pasta was perfectly cooked and the seafood flavoring was amazing. One was Tubetti with calamari, and the second was mixed seafood over angel hair. The ambience was amazing and it was well worth the climb. Highly recommended!

We were referred to La Tonarella by Captain Filippo with Mama Luna Charters, who took us there by boat—and what a great recommendation it was. They had a table ready for us as soon as we arrived. The service was excellent, and the staff worked incredibly hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The owner was also very welcoming.
We had the shrimp appetizer, the fish of the day, gnocchi, and a few other dishes—everything was fresh and flavorful. The location is perfect, right on the beach with a great view. I was lucky to find the boat (with the captain) of the restaurant on the small pier in Amalfi. After lovely few minutes on the sea we got to this lovely place: restaurant just above the water with the most amazing views. Fantastic crew and service. They were meeting my wishes instantly and all the people were so very kind! The food was fresh and really delicious! Little beach just next offers an opportunity for a swim and after the whole wonderful experience you will be taken back to Amalfi at no cost. And the prices are decent. Great spot for lunch on the Amalfi coast. We had pasta, anti pasta, drinks for 4 and it was very reasonably priced. Picked up from our boat by the restaurant shuttle boat, which the kids loved. Amazing restaurant, we loved it so much we came back the second day as well. We were staying in the bay, but most people come in by free boat transfer to & from Amalfi organised by the restaurant. Meet the captain on the small dock in Amalfi. It is Mainly locals who go, the food is excellent cooked by the mother of the family Michele. Originally started by Michele’s husband Mario’s father who was a fishmonger in the 1960’s this classic is well worth a visit.
Mario even takes people fishing at 7am on his boat to catch some of the menu for the day. Our boy went out and caught two squid and an Octopus. You can take this from Amalfi or be picked up at small floating dock next to the restaurant.
The menu is delicious with plenty of fresh specials, the Tuna Carpaccio was amazing, as was Pistachio Spaghetti & of course the Squid cooked two different ways which my son had helped catch. It may not quite have the curb appeal initially of the other restaurant, but the food service & value was better in our opinion.

My boyfriend and I took this cooking class while visiting Positano, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip! From the moment we were picked up (so convenient since they offer direct pickup right from Positano), everything was seamless and enjoyable.
The staff were beyond amazing. So welcoming, funny, and knowledgeable. They made the entire experience feel both educational and incredibly fun. Also shoutout to Vanessa, who captured all our special moments throughout the class! She shared a Dropbox folder afterwards with all the photos, which was such a thoughtful touch.
I can’t recommend this experience enough to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast. The views, food, and staff were all incredible. 1000/10, we’ll definitely be coming back someday!

This restaurant has lovely views with some seating outside, but the majority inside. A very popular place and good service.
We found the food to be beautifully presented but the chicken salad was very bland and a bit dry and needed a dressing. The balsamic and oil on the table that they suggested to use wasn’t what was needed. The lettuce was also a bit bitter. Although it looked lovely it definitely needed something like a French dressing or equivalent and then it would be perfect.
It was nice sitting outside and listening to the music from the beach club below. A nice atmosphere.

I had the most amazing experience at La Gavitella Beach Club! The views are absolutely breathtaking, with a stunning beachfront view of the Positano cliffs. The water was so clear it felt like I was swimming on a private island. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. My girlfriend and I’s experience at La Gavitella was absolutely exceptional, all factors of the stay from the private pickup, to the food, to the beach club far exceeded our already high expectations and it ended up being the highlight of our entire trip. Our morning began with a private boat shuttle from the pier in Positano with the most wonderful captain Pepe. After we set off for La Gavitella, Pepe stopped at the most picturesque spot in front of Positano and took a beautiful image of us. We felt so welcomed and taken care of immediately with Pepe’s hospitality. Upon arrival at La Gavitella we were seated for lunch in a stunning open air restaurant with views of the beach club and Positano off in the distance, the most romantic setting I could think of for my girlfriend and I to enjoy a meal. We ordered off the honeymoon menu and were impressed with the options provided from fresh seafood, to steak, and of course pasta. The attention to detail to plating, service, and ingredient quality was unmatched. My girlfriend distinctly remembers finishing a plate and by the time she set her fork down, the plate was cleared from the table in a way that did not distract from our conversation. The ravioli we ordered as our entree was the best of our whole trip to Italy and I could not recommend it enough. After enjoying our lunch we walked the short distance down to La Gavitella’s private beach club where we had a bed reserved for us. The views from the daybeds are unmatched, with a sight that looks as if it’s straight out of a Dolce & Gabanna perfume commercial. While my girlfriend relaxed and enjoyed a glass of wine at the daybeds I took a dip in the water and had the best time swimming. After our sunbathing at the beach we were then shuttled back to Positano by boat once again. I simply could not recommend La Gavitella enough to anyone looking for a luxurious romantic retreat, if you are looking for the best beach club and lunch, La Gavitella should be your choice!

The waiter brought over the daily catch and had a few recommendations, that were all very simple, but very flavorful. We were recommended this restaurant from our skipper on a boat tour. Unfortunately, this was a poor experience and I expected much more from a restaurant in Italy. We were seated promptly and our order was taken fast. The view is absolutely beautiful. However, the pasta dishes came out 20+ minutes before the pizzas did. The table next to us was seated well after we were and got all of their food including pizzas before us. We had to flag down the server and ask where the rest of the food was; I think they had completely forgotten about us as the pizzas were an additional 10 minutes to be made. We also ordered a salad as an appetizer which was forgotten about, and was received after the reminder and 15 minutes after the pasta.
The food was not awful but lacked flavour and spices, especially the penne al pomodoro. Extremely overpriced for the quality, and very disappointing for an Italian dish in its home country. The sauce tasted straight from a bottle. However the mixed salad was light and refreshing for being greens, olive oil, and salt.
I unfortunately have to give this restaurant a one-star review as I recommend to stay far away from this place and the view is not enough to make up for the awful service and overpriced, low quality dishes. They did apologize for the poor service and offered a discount.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Belvedere for 10 days celebrating our 50th Anniversary and it was spectacular. We were greeted with Champagne from the friendly staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you for our beautiful balcony room with an amazing view of the coast.
The shuttle bus was a godsend as taxis were very expensive the bus service was also good a bit confusing but on the plus the stop was outside the Hotel, ideal for people who don’t want to walk a distance. We especially appreciated the service and we cannot recommend the Belvedere Hotel enough for anyone seeking a romantic getaway or special occasion.
The stunning location, incredible staff especially Thomass love you 😍 who made our Anniversary trip to the Amalfi Coast a dream come true. Thank you so much.

Generell ist das Hotel aufgrund der Lage etwas isoliert, und man muss nach Amalfi fahren, um mal einen Supermarkt zu finden - dementsprechend fände ich es nur fair, wenn das Hotel eine Art Wasserspender o.ä. anbieten würde. Auch die Abendkarte war nicht unseres, da es doch hochpreisig ist und wir lieber in die umliegenden Pizzerien gegangen sind.

A true hidden gem. Amazing value for money. Breathtaking views, the smell of the sea and pines, retro interiors that add to the character and vibe kf rhis classic Amalfi coast hotel. I hope they wont renovate it and keep up the classic 60s style interior.
Great service, cuisine and own beach which os never crowded and feels private and prestigious. There is a very nice restaurant nearby that offers a free shuttle service. The hotel can arrange a booking for you.
I hope the rates don't go up by too much, cause we will definitely be back!

Cons - poor communication relating to transportation (ex: depending on who you’re talking to, and whether you pay cash or card, also they were late picking us up from the port), dinner menu options and excursion details, dining room servers were not very friendly and only really enjoyed a few of the dinner menu entrees, limited options on food in the late afternoon, and our room was very warm most of the time making it hard to sleep and both the TV & safe were very confusing

This hotel was our choice of stay for 4 days visit to Amalfi coast and we already miss this place ( haven’t checked out yet lol ).
Not to mention everywhere in the hotel has jaw dropping view of ocean, we felt all the staff was very caring and welcoming. We had a diner on the first night at the hotel, we were seated where we can see Amalfi town as well as the full front ocean view. We couldn’t be happier to have amazingly scrumptious foods with fantastic view and service.
Breakfast was great and the room was spacious, clean and quiet with soothing sounds of ocean waves.
If I get to visit Amalfi coast again, I will def come back to stay here !

The Hotel Belvedere is located minutes away from the Town of Amalfi, Italy. Completely surprised with the amazing view of the coast, pleasant & helpful staff, comfortable quiet rooms, and quality of their restaurant. Clean & warm salt water pool that included pool side drinks and food service with a life guard. Easy access to the sea that included water taxi pick up and a beach. Food at the restaurant was outstanding for breakfast and supper.
The biggest surprise at the Hotel Belvedere was their entire staff. Helpful with checking in, organizing day trips, transportation, laundry service, and on site parking. Restaurant manager Pepe treated us like family and warmly greeted us every day. Outstanding food and view of the Amalfi coast meant we rarely left the hotel to eat. The reception desk staff spoke English and was always available and extremely helpful. Francesco gave us honest & helpful advice which eased our travels throughout our day trips up and down the coast (car, boat, and their shuttle service). Everyone at the front desk did everything they could to make our stay fabulous. I cannot say enough about our experience and highly recommend staying at Hotel Belvedere. Complete 5 star rating.

If you compare the fish dish with a seared tuna down the road, the latter wins by a mile. Beautiful restaurant just outside the town of Amalfi. We came by car without a reservation. I recommend arriving right at opening time or booking a specific time in advance. We left around 14:00 and it was already completely full.
The pasta and other dishes tasted authentic, amazing, and fresh. The owner even came to greet us at the table the restaurant has been here since 1979 if I remember correctly.
The only thing I didn’t really like was the menu on a tablet. I’d love to come back a great experience overall. Parking is available right next to the restaurant. You need to leave your keys at the reception in case they need to move your car.

What's not to love about a restaurant overlooking the Amalfi Coast with food that is just as delicious as the views are amazing?! Our faves were the salami board, fried cheese, lamb, lobster, fish dishes, and cheesecake. Please note that their salad, steak, and lemon cake were just OK.
Our experienced was further enhanced with the service and warm welcome. Annamarie was polite, attentive, and gave great food and beverage recommendations.
They open at 12pm, so plan to stop by around that time if you need a great place to stop for lunch & take gorgeous pics after venturing through Positano. You will be hard pressed to find better food for the price before making to touristy Amalfi town!

Great beach club, not too crowded. Reasonable prices - €12 per chair and €6 for an umbrella. It’s not crowded so that was pleasant.
The water is very clear and there’s a diving platform you jump off of. There’s no beach though it’s more of a ledge into the ocean so don’t expect sand. Also, the water is deep so be prepared to not touch the ground. The water does get a bit choppy because of the boats but that’s everywhere.
Also, the food there is affordable as well - they have sandwiches and salads under €10. They just don’t have much options (but we weren’t looking for a dining experience so we didn’t care about that.
Parking is €5 an hour or €30 a day. But be aware they charge you for a full hour so we got there at 12:30 and left at 3:30 but they charge you as if you got there at 12 and left at 4.
Service was very good throughout from the parking attendants to the servers, everyone was very nice and pleasant to talk to.
The one thing that could be improved though is the bathroom situation.

This place is nicely conceived. You leave the car on the main street (there is just enough room to leave your car there and the concierge parks it somewhere for you). There is a little jeep that transports you to the beach. There you have a main area (with the bar and snack, the toilets and showers) and many platforms around. We booked at the quiet one and we really enjoyed. Everything was calm and nice, the watwr great. On the negatice side, food was not great and service was only at the bar (so you have to go quite some distance). Finally charging a euro for a cold shower is just reducing quality of service. Its not so much about the one euro, I do mind having to queue for a one euro chip to have a shower.

Perfect place for spending a hot summer day, friendly staff, reasonable prices and an astonishing private beach.
Overall it can get expensive, but considering that we were 4 people and with a car parking, 84 eur for a day pass with beds and umbrelas it isn't that bad. Once inside you can eat and drink your own stuff and prices are reasonable.
I would suggest going early as they close at 17:30, and don't miss going up to the tower, the views from up there are amazing!

Unfortunately, our experience was truly disappointing. We booked sunbeds and a shuttle (over €100 in total), expecting to spend the day at a beach where we could relax. In reality, it wasn’t a real beach but a platform on the rocks, with access only by jumping into the sea. For anyone who cannot swim or is afraid of jumping, this place is absolutely unsuitable – and no one informed us about this crucial detail. The sea was rough, there were rocks, and the whole setting did not feel safe.
After just half an hour we wanted to leave: we received no refund at all, and on top of that, the driver – who had initially been introduced to us as “free for the way back” – then demanded extra money and basically forced us to pay. In the end, it cost us around €140, without the slightest transparency or fairness.
We didn’t even order any food, but keep in mind that if you want to eat there, you’ll have to spend even more – at least around €60 per person. So, the costs can easily add up very quickly.
For anyone who is not a confident swimmer, who struggles with many stairs, or who simply wants a relaxing day, I strongly do not recommend this place. Think twice before booking: once you have paid, you won’t get any refund, even if the service is not what you expected.

Siamo stati in questo lido oggi 18/08/25 e la nostra esperienza è stata pessima. Per quanto riguarda la zona mare niente da dire, bel posto e abbastanza tranquillo ma il vero problema è stato il ristorante. Dopo più di un’ora di attesa per mangiare, i primi erano pessimi e ho dovuto mandare indietro l’astice che era totalmente crudo. C’era ancora l’acqua a mollo all’interno del carapace. Il cameriere si è offerto di rifare il piatto ma dopo così tanta attesa e disgustata gli ho detto di non volerlo più. Avevano dimenticato che avevamo preso dei secondi, che non volevamo più, alla terza ora seduti a tavola, ma ogni volta che dicevamo di annullare ci ignoravano. Finalmente riusciamo ad alzarci per andare a pagare e naturalmente l’astice crudo 30€ non era stato tolto. Ora qualsiasi ristorante serio avrebbe chiesto scusa e rimosso dal conto, evidentemente voi non lo siete. Il conto era di 192€ ma autonomamente hanno deciso di farci pagare col pos 50€ a testa, rubando ulteriori soldi.
