The platter was great and filling, served at a proper temp and did not seem overly fishy like it had been sitting for a long period of time. Other orders were the Chicken teriyaki and Tofu teriyaki. Both came out extremely hot and the chicken was very tender/moist. Both cooked perfectly to our liking and not overly sauced with teriyaki. Overall a great experience at this restaurant and no complaints regarding food or service.

The soup was okay but nothing else was positive. One little piece of meat, about 6 pieces of green onion, and skinny slice of fish cake. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu which makes choosing food super straightforward. We ordered the vegan udon and overall it was amazing. The broth was really flavorful, the udon slightly overcooked but still good and the tofu was nice too. One suggestion would be to use firm tofu instead of silken tofu or at least give customers the option to choose. We also tried the agedashi tofu. This was tasty as well but especially for this dish a firmer tofu would really elevate it. The avocado and vegetable rolls could be improved. The vegetables were quite crunchy, the avocado portion very small and the roll itself wasn’t very compact. It would also be great to see more creative vegan roll options for example with sweet potato or roasted peppers. The edamame were good though the portion could have been a bit more generous.

For starters, they serve Aloha Shoyu with their sushi. I have NEVER seen that before. They don’t serve it with proper sushi shoyu. Secondly, I placed an order online once. I ordered my daughters usual Tekka Maki & a North Beach roll. We got all the way home and my order was wrong, AGAIN. North Beach is supposed to come with ahi, imitation crab & avocado inside with tobiko on the outside. There was NO imitation crab inside and there were all different types of fish in it. Salmon, ahi & no clue what else. I called them & they said I could get a replacement but I was not going to go all the way down there again so they took my info down so they could give me another one for the next time. Well, today we ordered sushi again & got my daughters usual plus the replacement North Beach roll from last time. My fiancé picked it up and brought it home. We opened up the boxes to find this super weird grey-ish colored ahi. Very WEIRD color. I told my daughter & fiancé not to eat it and I called them. They insisted that the ahi was fresh & that it was just picked up today. I told them I have lived in Hawai’i all my life and have NEVER seen grey ahi in my life. They insisted again that it is a different cut of the fish and fresh. My fiancé also reached out to the owner & still insisted it’s okay. They asked if we tasted it & I said “NO, because it looks weird!” They didn’t seem to offer a real solution & felt they were right. They also don’t understand very well so it got frustrating trying to make them understand. I even showed my friend a picture & her fiancé is a chef & said “DO NOT EAT IT! Take it back!” We also googled & if ahi is grey looking, it is a sign of spoilage & SHOULD be bright pink or red. We will never support this business again.
