I had the hot pastrami sandwich with split pea soup and the wife had the quiche of the day. They were both tasty and well made. Additionally, being a travel nerd and a Marriott platinum elite, I'm down to check out a new hotel to see what's on tap. The menu is lacks variety but they may be partially forgiven considering this is a hotel restaurant in Lompoc. Tapas aside, you basically have pizza(s), burger(s), or light sandwiches to choose from. I opted for the Valle Burger thinking it would be the standard, safe choice. Truth-be-told, the meat was a little on the dry side and could've used more (or any) seasoning. The accompanying side salad had a healthy mix of greens however a few cherry tomatoes had definitely passed their prime and the Caesar dressing had a layer of small bubbles on the top--a classic sign of spoilage/food contamination. Against my better judgement, I had small sample which didn't taste anything like a Caesar/creamy Caesar. It had a confused flavor, for sure nothing I'd intentionally order. Conversely, the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Overall it was a positive experience; however to be fair I was the only one there towards the end of their lunch service. The atmosphere is open and modern and there are a lot of good seating options to choose from, even an outdoor patio. To top it off, the bar maintains a healthy selection of local brews on tap. Honestly, I'm hesitant to eat there again however I wouldn't pass on the bar/lobby as a meetup spot with friends.

Staff was super friendly, and relatively quick for a take out order. The dining room looked clean and well taken care of. Staff appeared very customer focused. Burger was served wrapped well in paper to keep everything together. Burger was tasty and cooked through. I admit some of the alphabetical burgers sound strange, but I appreciate the clever options. Second, their service was attentive, friendly and quick. Third, atmosphere needs improvement, needs deep clean and some touch ups. There’s some dairy free options and I tried their pistachio, brown butter latte with oatmilk and I enjoyed it. But it wasn’t quite the coffee taste it was very sweet. Don’t get me wrong I liked it a lot. And now the; Why three stars? Well in my final checking account withdrawal there was an extra .10 cents charged when I signed for a balance that ended in .00 tip included. So that small error I am very very picky about. If misunderstanding double zero for a .10 is a difficult thing to do. Then the employees need a break, eye exam or something to better manage this place. Why is .10 a big thing for me because .10 cents are .10 cents. I have heard horror stories about companies taking .01 or .05 cents to thousands of customers and years later it was found it was fraud. Not a fan of that, I disapprove. And before you jump to conclusions no that is not what I am saying is happening but it is a possibility after their employees get their break, or any necessary adjustment to manage the bills in this place. We were seated right away & chose a booth which was very low & uncomfortable. I’m on the short side, and I couldn’t even drink my water without spilling as I had to tilt it very far over to reach my mouth. We began our meal with clam chowder which desperately needed salt. My husband, who hardly ever adds salt to anything, needed to add salt to his too. But other than that, it was just okay. Nothing special. Next we both had the tri-tip sandwich with au-jux. First, the tri-tip was very dry - it even had dry edges that curled & became crunchy. There was nothing on the bread except for the dry meat. Next, the au-jux was so weak we even tried stirring it thinking that maybe the good flavors had just sunk to the bottom of the bowl. It didn’t. The entire presentation lacked any kind of care or thought. It was very disappointing & I have zero desire to go back again. The restaurant was nearly empty & we came at 6pm. The evening sky through the windows was lovely & our server was nice although he had no idea what time they opened for breakfast. Our first impression was basically a non-impression. Bland, boring, dull & basic. I would not recommend & we won’t be going back.
