We were impressed. Wasn’t really sure what to do when we first got there and read reviews that weren’t exactly flattering about the process, so we asked the server. She was great. Grab a menu, sit down or sit in your car. They keep good track of who is next in line and come get your order when it’s your turn. She walked us through ordering and toppings. We started at the tables but switched to our vehicle. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers, onion rings, a drink and a strawberry shake. We enjoyed our meal here at Clyde's. We sat outside on the picnic tables and a waitress came out and took our order. My wife got the mushroom Swiss burger basket and I got the fish sandwich. Wonderful drive in! Service was great and polite. My husband loved his elk burger. The fried pickle chips and garlic parmesan fries were amazing! They have lots of picnic tables out front with umbrellas. There is a little bit of seating inside. They only serve you at your vehicle if you’re parked out front.

Every year I go camping in the upper Peninsula in October, and every year I make the pilgrimage to Clyde’s drive-in. I have dined at some of the best restaurants in country. Manistique is not the Clyde's to stop in at...not at 7:30 on a Friday night. No Shakes, already shut down for the night. The worst part was ordering a BLT and only having a slice of bacon on each half of sandwich, it was all lettuce- would have preferred to hear all out. Only saving grace was the fries and mushroom Swiss burger was hot and fresh.

This cafe was next door to our hotel. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. The is plenty of seating and the service was great.
I'm usually skeptical of biscuits and gravy.i decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The biscuits were moist and soft and the gravy had delicious flavor with plenty of sausage.
The prices were good and the menus selects were nice.
Overall I give this place a 5 star rating for both service and great food.

Came here for the “fresh” pastys. Waited a VERY long time for the food, and when it came out, it was still frozen in the middle & pasty dough was soggy. No apologies - they did offer to make a new one, but that also came out COLD in the middle. They did comp the meal, but it was all around awful. I haven't seen a Big Boy in a while, so when I came across one in the UP, I had to stop. The restaurant was clean, the staff were great and the food was what I expected it to be. It wasn't a "to die for" meal, but it was what I ordered the way I ordered it. The staff really were great. My wife ordered breakfast and her pancakes came out very very well done. The waitress told us when she brought us our meals that she had already told the cook to make new pancakes. She brought them out quickly and they were golden brown. We had a descent meal at a reasonable price, so I really cannot complain. If I am back in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again.

Had never been to a Big Boy restaurant, gave it a try. This picture is the pot roast dinner. It was $16+ and was not good at all. This is the first thing at a restaurant that I've sent back in many years. The waitress was nice but when I sent this back she said I could have the buffet for no charge instead. When I went to pay for what I ate they charged me for this pot roast thing anyway... Be warned this seems to be a nostalgic thing for people that remember them. As a new comer, it was high priced poor quality food.

The Upper Crust Cafe Bakery and Deli is a great place to grab a sandwich while out exploring the UP. They have a wide selection of soups, salads, wraps, and breakfast items, and their staff is always willing to make substitutions. We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday in August. We had two kids and two adults and everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The sandwiches came with fresh bread, chips and drinks. After we bought cookies to enjoy later. They were huge! There's a large dining room and a patio overlooking the water with a pergola cover. During the summer they put houseplants on the patio giving it a tropical feel. Out front there were picnic tables for even more seating. Everyone working at the deli was very nice. We had a fantastic breakfast experience at this cozy spot! I ordered the Yes Cheese Sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious — rich, creamy, and so satisfying. I also tried the creamy potato soup, which came with some of the most flavorful croutons I’ve ever had. My husband really enjoyed his croissant sandwich, and my parents both ordered the hash dishes — they were a hit!
The portions are generous, the staff is warm and attentive, and the ambiance is lovely, with lots of natural light from the open windows and pleasant background music setting the tone. The environment feels relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a laid-back morning meal.
The only small downside was the coffee, which was a bit bland, but honestly, the quality of the food and service more than made up for it.

This was by far the best place to eat in the area.
$2 coffees, grain bowls with chicken and artichoke, sandwiches with homemade bread, treats, and so much more.
They had beautiful seating inside and outside with a wonderful view of the water.
And the service was fantastic!!! They were so kind to remake the Mediterranean Grain Bowl for me when I saw it had feta and dairy in the dressing after receiving it (it wasn't on the overhead menu). We had a dairy intolerance and I felt really taken care of.
When we left, we used the restroom (which had a changing table and was very clean) and they had already cleaned up our eating space by the time we got out!
I'll say there's something for everyone to eat here and it's clear they love what they do.

We ended up eating here by recommendation from the hotel that we stayed at. It was a very cool experience, and they are ranked number one in their state for Wings.

For such a small trailer, he has a big variety. His menu surprised me. We decided to try dogs, and they didn't disappoint! The only complaint would be he said he didn't have pasta yet. My wife got the Mac Attack which has mac n cheese. That said, the dogs were great. My favorite was Mikes Buddy. I could eat that any day!

For the price, you can't beat it. He cooks things to order, you'll wait a few minutes for your order, but that's a good thing. If you come late, he may be out of some things, especially drinks. He has cans of coke in a cooler, he told us whatever is in there, is all he has for today. He had Coke and Diet Coke, we were happy!
If you're in the area, give him a shot! You probably won't be disappointed. We weren't. We're already planning on coming back on a future trip.

Had to give a shout out to the Dog House, was only passing through the area and we gave it a shot. Massive variety made it hard to choose but I went with the Cuban. I loved it; decent serving, evenly proportioned, and the sauces in particular appear to be homemade and crafted to compliment each item on the menu. Had Detroit Dog, Porky Pug, and Roaring Lion. All three were excellent, personal favorite was the Roaring Lion, blue cheese, caramelized onions, and bacon. We stopped at Hardee's tonight with a bus full of JV Football players, Varsity and JV Cheerleaders, plus multiple coaches, before heading home (Gwinn) and the staff was absolutely AMAZING! They need all of the recognition in the world for serving 50+ people, most of which were HS students. They were patient, efficient, and served us with a smile on their faces the ENTIRE time. They then proceeded to thank us for how respectful our kids were, when we should have been thanking them (we did, over and over again)! I stopped by Subway recently and had a great experience thanks to two awesome employees—Andrew and Devin. From the moment I walked in, both of them were welcoming and professional. Andrew was super efficient and made my sandwich exactly how I like it, without rushing through it. My wife and I visited Manistique and decided to try this home style cafe. We both ordered the Emerald City which consisted of 3 eggs, hash browns, choice of meat (I chose bacon and the Mrs chose sausage) and toast. We also shared a short stack of pancakes.
We were very happy with the service and quality of the food. Everything was prepared to our satisfaction. The toast was buttered, we received a nice selection of jelly with it.
Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Absolutely fresh ingredients, there's elements of tex-mex in the presentation with readily available ingredients up North, leading to a solid base for the food - a few additions of seasoning would elevate the dishes to a 5 star as the basic ingredients are all fresh and well prepared. The ground beef could use a kick with chilli powder, cumin, and some brightness with either lime or lemon, and if you can get your hands on cilantro the salsa and guacamole would also benefit from a bit of acidity as well. The ice cream was beautifully presented Ina. Waffle cone bowl layered with crunchies, a mountain of whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and cinnamon sugar, tasted like a cherry covered in ice cream!
Aside from a few experiments with seasoning, we love the service and was highly impressed with our meal! Thank you!

I called them and they said I could come by the next day for my burrito, to my surprise it was the same as my soft taco? Pizza is my favorite food. I have been eating it for nearly 50 years all across the US. This is the best pizza I have ever had!! Perfectly done Detroit style pizza. Crunchy crust on the outside and fluffy inside. Great cheese and pepperoni. The highlight is the sauce. It is full of flavor with the right amount of sweetness. Service is great and friendly. We have eaten here twice (summer ‘24 and summer ‘25). Each time we had pizza and breadsticks. Ordering and payment is done online, food is picked up at window and seating is throughout the open space that is the brewery. Certainly worth a stop if you are looking for Detroit style pizza.

There is no service, you have to order food on an app, then they call your name, and you have to go get it. To order drinks, you have to stand in line and wait to order from the bar.
I got spaghetti with meatballs. The spaghetti was ok, but the meatballs were super salty. I could only eat a couple. I only ate about 1/3 of the whole meal. The meal came in a disposable tin, like it was premade in a factory, and they just warm it up. And I got to eat it using flimsy, plastic utensils. I was not impressed at all. I would have given 1star but my sone liked his breadsticks. And my wife’s salad was ok, small but decent. Though it also came in a small disposable plastic tray, like fast food, and she had to use the same flimsy utensils.
The atmosphere was very nice, I like that building.

We camped here for about 5 days. It is centrally located between Munising and Manistique so it offered us the ability to customize many key points in the U.P. the campground was clean and quiet and had fire rings and picnic tables for each site. We had a full hookup for our camper, but they have a batroom/shower house that was very clean and nice to use. There is the restaurant/bar on site as well that was nice to enjoy a meal and drink. Many stop by on side by sides and also in the winter snowmobiling. Great spot :)

Great place to camp and ride out on the trails. Weekly sites are pull thru, and have full 50 amp, water and sewer hookup. Nice bathroom / shower/ laundry facilities. Great Wi-Fi. Seasonals are all friendly cool people. Nice fun little bar with great BBQ and other food. This place was perfect for us 👍🏻

We stayed a night at Jack pines while we were traveling through Michigan’s UP, it’s was a great little campground, spots were very spacious with plenty of room for our 42ft 5th wheel, lots of trees and everyone we encountered were very nice. Had a little restaurant/bar up by the highway that supposedly has good food but didn’t try it. Apparently the campground has direct access to some ATV & SxS trails as several campers had SxS’s but all were very courteous and noise was never an issue. We ride SxS’s ourselves and never knew this was in the area, might be fun to come back and ride someday! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if in the area, it was nice.

The Hosts were Absolutely Beautiful inside and out! Friendly, fun, and always ready to help in any way! Our campsite for 9 days was perfect! Huge sites! Beautiful and its so quiet and peaceful here! A Great place to just relax! It's nestled right in the Hiawatha Forest. Don't forget to ask to see the Indian in the basement! There wasnt 1 thing we didn't like! Their showers, bathrooms and laundry rooms were soooo clean every single day! They had live music one of the weekends. They had a donut Bar with every topping known to man! :0) and breakfast on Sunday at the Restaurant/Bar for $10. We would definitely recommend this place 100%
