Lake
Kozjak is the largest lake in Plitvice Lakes National Park, offering clear waters and picturesque surroundings. The Upper Lakes, including Proscansko jezero, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, and others, are situated on impermeable dolomite rock with larger and gentler shores. On the other hand, the Lower Lakes like Milanovac and Gavanovac were formed in permeable limestone substrate with steep cliffs.
A very nice place here at the Plitvice lakes. If you make the big tour you will cross the lake by boat after walk till the Gate 1, from where you can continue by bus till gate 2.

Caverns & Caves
The Caves of Barać, located 6km from Village Rakovica and near the Plitvice Lakes National Park, have been open to the public since 1892. This natural attraction offers guided tours through its prehistoric stalactites and stalagmites, providing a unique opportunity to explore its geological formations and archaeological discoveries. While once containing human remains from World War I and II, today visitors can admire the impressive rock formations within the caves.
So interesting! We had a wonderful tour with a knowledgeable and funny tour guide. Highly recommend!
Susanne W — Google review
The cave itself is not a spectacular experience. It's nice, nothing more. It's the tour guides that make it really interesting with their stories and jokes. The area below the cave entrance is pretty lovely for picnicking and just spending some relaxing time under the shades of the wood. The wifi is available and free.
Bojana R — Google review
The caves are nice and the walking paths are good and well signed, but the best part is near the info point: a good park to relax for families, you can pass the whole day there

We had a great time. The guide Filip was just awesome - explained a lot of details, was very funny and kind, we really enjoyed the tour, also the park is really pleasant with big green playgrounds

We had the most amazing tour with Filip, he was very informative and made the tour very enjoyable. Our two sons 5 and 3 were also able to enjoy the tour and were listened to when they asked questions. Would highly recommend visiting when in the area.

We visited the cave with our 2 daughters and experienced a great tour! The guide was excellent and we really enjoyed the tour.

Fun little cave. We are in Croatia and do not speak Croatian so I cannot complain very much but the guide split the group into Croatian and English speakers- he spent a long time with the Croatian group and then was very brief with the English group and said, “sorry, the next group is coming.”
Danny H — Google review
A network of caves, most of which are inaccessible to the public for various reasons. Subsequently there's nothing really memorable to see here - walk to the end of a passage and walk back. At 40 euros for two adults and a child its most definitely overpriced for the limited experience on offer. If you have a P Lakes ticket you can get a small discount. Cave guide was engaging and entertaining.

(Translated by Google) Plitvice Lakes is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. One day is definitely not enough to see all its attractions. Wonderful lakes, both small and large, waterfalls, clearings, forest paths—it's simply a fairytale. The water in the lakes is incredibly clear, and the colors are simply incredible. Each lake has a different shade of green or blue. All the lakes are connected by numerous waterfalls, creating an incredible spectacle. There are plenty of walking trails, some more challenging than others. I will definitely return. (Original) Plitvickie Jeziora to jedno z najpiękniejszych miejsc , jakie widziałam. Lička kuća offers family packages for 2, 3, and 4-night stays with meals at various restaurants.
The Lika Bundle is definitely a must-try! The lamb tastes amazing! The cheese that comes with the bread is also delicious, and the homemade gnocchi is really good too! I stayed at Hotel Jezero, which offers a shuttle service for round-trip transportation, making it very convenient. (I’m not sure if other places provide this service as well, probably can ask the hotel reception?)
Yu L — Google review
It may look like overpriced touristic place due to it’s very convenient location near to ticket box but not at all! In the beginning we were skeptical due to the reason above but we decided to give a shot, since we got recommendation from a local person around. It was a good decision! Food was delicious, kind waiters(took bit time to order and pay due to business), and we enjoyed a lot. Recommended!

Excellent ! You might think it is a tourist trap as it is located right on the parking of the amazing park, but no this is actually really good! We loved the homemade cheese with bread while waiting for the very good gnocchi! Only one negative was the steak, it was quite dry unfortunately.
Guillaume — Google review
Found this gem after parking. Walked in to have lunch. Surprisingly the ood waa very good. Creamy House cow cheese with homemade bread was really good. Sous vide lamb with herb crusted waa excellent. Grilled Trout - have to be careful with tiny bones but overall taste was good. Service was friendly especially Marin & food waa prepped and cookes in a traditional open kitchen. Tranditional meals nees to book 24 hr in advance. Overall very happy with the meal

This is a very much belated review, just we are lazy. It was one of the best meals we have had during the self-drive trip to the Balkans. Meat was delicious, tender and juicy… what else? Cannot recall much, other than wanted back for more!

This is a great place to have a good hearty meal after a long day of walking in the national park! Plan ahead for certain dishes on their menu. I had dinner here twice during my stay in the park and liked the atmosphere and deliciousness of their food wafting in the air! I left happy and full. It's best to wait until after 7pm to dine here after the bus loads of tourists have departed.
Jason G — Google review
I love this place, good food, beautiful parking with possibility to charge my car 💪🏻💪🏻🤓🚙🔋

Located just opposite to the gate 1 of Plitvice National Park. Prices are higher for Croatian standard but okay if you consider the prime location. The food was really delicious and authentic. Loved their grill and smoky flavour. Service was unfortunately quite slow probably because of their traditional way of grill or whatsoever. Ambience is beautiful has both outdoor and indoor sittings.

This restaurant is family-friendly, with great service and delicious food. It's perfect for a relaxing meal after exploring the Plitvice Lakes National Park.
The food was excellent. I tried both the veal and the roasted lamb. The portions are large and the price-to-value ratio is great. The service is excellent and very friendly. True professionals in hospitality :) I am especially grateful for the lamb’s head! :D For both the kid and myself, it was an unforgettable culinary and social experience! Dejan, Thank You!!!!!!!

Villa Velebita was recommended by our host from the Plitvice Mirić Inn and we are so glad we took his advice! This was our best meal in Croatia - the food, the service, the atmosphere - everything was wonderful. I had the stuffed pork tenderloin. Wow. Highly recommend! The owner’s pate was so smooth and flavorful. We were treated like family friends. We loved hearing about our servers farm, his sheep, his dogs, and his neighbors. Do nit miss this place if you are visiting Plitvice National Park.

Zoran was incredible! He recommended the most delicious choices and his service was wonderful. We had such a fun time with Zoran and would definitely go back to eat again if we return to the area! We ordered the trout with almonds, salad and pancake with Basa! SO GOOD!!!!!

We really loved this cute place. We came two times in a row and tried half the menu. Everything was locally sourced or made in-house. Service (our waiter was Mladen) was great! Highly recommend!
Ariel K — Google review
The place was our stop on our way to Split from Plitvice National Lake Park. It had a quite classy vibe. The people were nice. We took the grilled trout with almonds and the veal chop. The trout with almond was recommended to us by our tour guide and it was absolutely delicious. The veal chop could have used a bit more salt but the meat was very good. The service was really nice.
Adnan S — Google review
From the outside it does not look impressive but it is indeed the best food we had in Croatia (at least on the mainland). We got a recommendation for this bistro from a local and we did not regret by going there! The portions are very generous and everything we tasted was delicious and home-made. You can simply taste it when someone is preparing your meal from the heart. Would recommend their piglet and house pancakes for a desert with home made plum jam. Don't make a mistake by ordering a desert per person as it is HUGE!
Daniel M — Google review
This place is so wholesome and wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was unmatched. We had such a great experience. Pick this place over the upscale fancy places that are trying too hard, you won’t be disappointed.
Layla S — Google review
Zoran was our host, and he truly was the host with the most! The service was fast and friendly, and his recommendation of the veal turned out to be a real winner. I had the grilled vegetables, which were cooked beautifully, and for dessert, we enjoyed the cheese-stuffed pancake—absolutely delicious! Portions were generous, and we were welcomed with a strong shot of Croatian vodka to start things off. Great value, great prices, and excellent service. Thank you, Zoran, for a wonderful dining experience!

Nestled just 5 kilometers from the main entrance of Plitvice Lakes National Park, Hotel Degenija offers a delightful escape for travelers seeking both comfort and convenience. This charming boutique hotel features only 20 rooms, ensuring personalized service and an intimate atmosphere that guests rave about. With its lush gardens, orchards, and an inviting outdoor pool overlooking the serene national park, Degenija is a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the stunning landscapes nearby.
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! We ordered the fish platter, the cauliflower, and the seared tuna – everything was absolutely excellent. Each dish was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The service was incredible – our waiter was super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. And the prices? Honestly unbelievable for the quality and quantity of food we got. It truly felt like a hidden gem. Now, about the dessert – the hazelnut and pistachio dessert was one of the best desserts I’ve had in my life. You absolutely have to try it. It was the perfect ending to an already perfect meal. This place is a must if you’re visiting Croatia – stunning setting, amazing food, fantastic service, and a dessert you’ll be dreaming about long after you leave.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food truly revived us after hours of hiking. Every dish was prepared with care and richness of flavor, turning a meal into something deeply satisfying. The service was kind and attentive without ever feeling rushed, allowing us to relax and soak in the experience. Our waiter was excellent about my soy allergy as well! It was the perfect end to an unforgettable day. Nourishing, relaxing, and full of heart!

We had the bruschetta as starter… divine they do this pesto on it, amazing! After had the pljukanci with black truffles (tartufima) which is very good, however i suggest u take the chicken breast with truffle as they get u mouthwatering breast with same pasta so its more tasty. Place is really cozy n nice. Highly recommended!! ⭐️

Restaurant Review I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and full of flavor, with generous portions that definitely leave you satisfied. The place is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and professional. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a nice dining experience.

This place was recommended by our accommodation host. As soon as we walked in, this place looked very nice. The service was so friendly and efficient. We ordered the goulash and fish platter. The platter was some of the best fish I had ever eaten. The smokiness was subtle, the fish was fresh and the pate on bread was delicious. Next up was the goulash and just wow. The meat was so tender, the gnocchi was soft and pillowy. We were blown away by how good this food was in such a small town. If you're staying nearby, I highly recommend you add this place to eat.

Restaurant Plitvice is a must-visit dining spot near Plitvice. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make for a delightful experience. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, and the service is top-notch. The attentive waitstaff are knowledgeable about the menu and can recommend excellent choices, while also accommodating custom orders. The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented, resembling art on a plate. Additionally, the restaurant accepts credit cards and provides WiFi for guests' convenience.
We were starving after 5 hours walk in the National Park and just jump to this restaurant which was in our way back to our cabin. Well, we left with very happy bellies. Ordered a meat and cheese cold plate for 2 and after a meat plate for 2. We, three, left nothing but thank you to the chef in our plates. Food is really good as well as the service. Definitely a place to go back!

The place was very calm and quiet and the food was incredible! It was a little bit expensive but worth it. The shrimps were the best.
Rose T — Google review
The experience at Restaurant Plitvice was underwhelming. The service was quite questionable—unorganized and not very attentive. The food was average at best and certainly didn’t justify the high prices. While the interior is very modern and stylish, the overall experience left much to be desired. There are definitely other restaurants nearby that offer much better food and service for the same or even lower prices.

Your are looking for a good restaurant in the near of Plitvice? Don’t search anymore, you have found the right address to go ! Don’t hesitate, even if it’s a camping restaurant : you will be surprise of the quality of the food as well as the service. Everything was just perfect ! We asked the waitress to taste a red wine of the region, and she advise us a Merlot which was just perfect ! We enjoyed everything : the place, the food, the wine, the service, the dessert 👌. All that for unbeatable price/quality ratio. Many thanks for this unforgettable evening. For sure we will come back next time ! 😘👍🏼🙏

Fantastic and delicious food. Very fair prices compared to the quality, especially considering that it's a camping site. Huge portions. Would come again. We had the tuna salad, the bruschetta and calamari and everything was amazing

The bistro Plum is a great place to get a bite to eat in Rakovica. With its Mediterranean, European, and Croatian cuisine, it has something for everyone. The cafe also offers great cocktails - perfect for enjoying with friends after a long day of hiking or sightseeing. Plus, the outdoor seating is perfect for summer days spent lounging on the lakeshore.
The place is amazing, the food was so tasty, we had the lamb, risotto, and the gnocchi, all’s were lovely surprises (albeit a bit cold). The desserts we ordered were the chocolate mousse and the lemon tart, both were delicious. The waiter (Marin) was very pleasant and hospitable. The house wine were wonderful l. We will come back 😍

LIFE CHANGING truffle gnocchi!!!!! 😍😍😍 I took one bite and immediately reconsidered all my life choices. Cancelled my plans. Texted my ex. Called my mom. This gnocchi is so good it made me believe in love again. I fear no other gnocchi will ever live up to this—every future gnocchi encounter will now feel like a sad, beige imitation of this rich, fluffy, truffle-scented masterpiece. Honestly? I think I ascended. 11/10, would gnocchi again and again and again. Also the chocolate mousse was insane!! And try the local drink called Cockta, it's something like Coca Cola but a bit more fruity and even better! :)

It’s a very nice and quiet restaurant. We ordered the gnocchi and and burrata pasta and both were amazing. They brought free focaccia with food. We later ordered the chocolate mouse for desert and it was heavenly good. The service was fast and we were eating after a few minutes. I would highly recommend if you are staying at the hotel or visiting plitvice. Better to book in advance.

Very nice restaurant with great views of the mountains. The food was delicious but a bit pricey compared compared to other local restaurants. We had the ravioli and the trout and would highly recommend both dishes. Great service and attentive staff. If you are looking for a more upscale meal in a causal setting this place. Our favorite dinner in the area so far

Every dish was delicious. The pizza was especially amazing. Portions were big, beautifully presented, and very photogenic. Came here twice while visiting Plitvice. Totally worth it. Highly recommended!

Walked in for dinner without a reservation, but staff were quick to find us a table that wouldn’t have any customers for a while so we could have our dinner. Food is a bit pricey (par for the course in the area), but portions were generous and food was really tasty! Staff were friendly and gave good wine recommendations as well. Didn’t have to wait long after ordering to get our food either!
Erusha T — Google review
This is a restaurant review. The trout filet was "pretty good but nothing to write home about." Lamb way too salty - I had to blend in ALL the sides, including the decoration greens and liberally splashed olive oil, to neutralize the heavy-handed salt. Mushroom gnocchi was alright. Wine was a highly recommended white, but tasted thin on my palate. And the "toasted rolls" appetizer turned out to be vegetarian egg rolls which, to a Chinese, is good but not amazing. Desserts were good, and the chocolate mousse was a standout. This restaurant is attached to a high-end hotel, and the ambience is decidedly white glove. The food did not stand up to the aspirations of the establishment. The waiter we had was exceptional.
Chiucat A — Google review
Plum Bistro comes highly recommended through several travel blogs and online posts and it truly lives up to the hype. Food and flavours were incredible (we had the Trout, Gnocchi and Chocolate Mousse), service impeccable and overall great vibe. A must visit for when you are in the area and looking for a delicious hearty meal after a long day!
