Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of pure, awe-inspiring beauty. The 16 lakes, connected by countless waterfalls and cascades in stunning turquoise-blue hues, are a true paradise. Walking on the wooden boardwalks allows you to get close to the water, feel the mist of the falls and see almost to the bottom of the lakes. It's an absolute must-do for any nature lover. Important points on the trails and walking conditions: The park offers a variety of routes (like C, H, F, E etc.) that combine walking, a boat ride on Lake Kozjak, and use of a shuttle. Most of the walking paths and boardwalks are very narrow, slippery, and sometimes uneven, and the park gets extremely crowded, therefore in my opinion the trails are not suitable for baby strollers or wheelchairs, also - access is difficult for people with walking difficulties or seniors who require stability. Recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes with good grip. Tickets: Recommended to book tickets online in advance for a specific time slot and entrance (1 or 2), as the daily visitor capacity is limited and tickets sell out quickly. It's best to arrive as early as possible (right at opening time) to avoid the biggest crowds. Paid parking is available at both entrances (make sure to park at the entrance for which you bought your ticket). Along the paths, there are several rest points with WCs and some places to buy food, but it's a bit pricey, so you can bring some water, sandwiches, or snacks. In summary, this is an amazing natural wonder that is worth every effort.
Wow! Fantastic experience! You could easily spend the whole day at the park. There are number of trails leading around the lakes and under the waterfalls. Every part of it looks do beautiful. The water is extremely clean and the colours vary from light blue to turquoise green. It’s a must go destination in Croatia
Absolutely stunning nature, I felt like I was wandering through the loveliest dream. Aside from the obvious, the forest itself is incredibly beautiful, soft, nurturing, with ivy covered trees, moss adorned rocks, and colorful leaves blanketing the forest floor. I highly recommend coming in mid to late October for the fall foliage, it imbues a mystical quality to this already enchanted place.
Very beautiful park and easy to access. We was lucky to get 2 versions of the scenery. We came late on day 1 (17 Nov), so we decided to revisit in the next day. There was significant snow and the scenery had changed. Although we couldn't go to your lakes due to the weather, the scenery in lower lakes was fantastic.
Such a beautiful serene environment, walking on the trails did get a bit busy at times but once you're in its amazing to see little pockets of natural beauty, clear waters, different varieties of fish, plants and many jaw dropping waterfalls, too many to count. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Croatia.
This park is really fantastic. We were here for two days. Walked about 30 km. Some areas quite busy (great waterfall). If possible i recommend an early start to avoid the tourists coming in by busloads. The lakes are great and everything is remarkably clean. We had a great time, highlight of our trip to Croatia.
It's no wonder the Plitvice Lakes are called Croatia's main attraction. It's a vast and incredibly beautiful national park. We visited in the summer, so everything was blooming and green. The park's highlight is the many waterfalls it has. Here, the waterfalls resemble delicate lace, an exquisite interplay of streams and intertwining water flows - there waterfalls upon waterfalls. If you're in Croatia, don't miss the opportunity to admire this spectacle! Some of the hiking trails will easily last a few hours, so prepare to spend a full day here.
Great planning in the national park, with bus and boat inclusive with the ticket which is unbelievable at this kind of world-famous tourist spot. Experienced route H, spent around 5 hours and quite easy to walk, thanks for the bus taking us uphill and start at the top with over 80% of the journey are downhill. Fall season should be promoted more, the view is amazing, weather is comfortable but obviously there are not many visitors during Oct.

This is the tallest waterfall in Plitvice Lakes National Park, measuring approximately 78 meters in height. It is a single-drop waterfall, cascading straight down from a high cliff in a dramatic and powerful flow. The sight of the water plunging in a single stream is truly awe-inspiring. In spring and after rainfall, the volume of water increases, creating an even more impressive spectacle. During winter, the frozen form offers a completely different yet equally stunning view. Visiting early in the morning rewards you with a magical atmosphere, as mist and sunlight create a dreamlike setting. It is the closest major attraction to Ticket Office 1, and certain trail routes allow you to reach a viewpoint right at the base of the waterfall.
Beautiful nature. We did circuit C and it took us 4 hours, moderately difficult terrain. The boat trip was also great. There are toilets and refreshment stands at the stations. Nice people everywhere.
• A breathtaking natural wonder, the view is absolutely stunning. 🌿💦 •The power and sound of the waterfall are mesmerizing. •Beautiful walking trails with peaceful surroundings. •A must-see spot in Croatia. •Very clean, well-maintained, and visitor-friendly.
The "Great Waterfall" in Croatia is called Veliki Slap and is the largest waterfall in Plitvice Lakes National Park. It has a height of 78 meters and is fed by the Plitvica River. What a magnificent view!
The big waterfall looks perfect. If you are lucky, your impression will be completed by the small drops carried by the gentle wind from the waterfall that fall on the tourists. The impression would be better if there weren't so many tourists in this place, but I can understand why people stay here.
Dreamy, full-on nature immersive! Only downside: wooden path is very narrow plus at water level, so u can't enjoy the waterfall in absolute peace - making space for people passing all the time & the anxiety of your belongings (phone etc) falling in the lakes.
Absolutely gorgeous and an amazing experience to be here. This is the highest waterfall in the Plitvice National Park – 78 meters high situated at the very end of the Lower Lakes. It is fed by the waters of the Plitvica Potok River. Considered as the most beautiful one on the Lakes, this waterfall is also the highest one in the whole of Croatia. A must visit site, when in Croatia.
TOURIST TRAP. It’s an amazing natural site, however the queues are crazy and it seems they let too many people into the park. Expect 1 or 2 hour queue to catch the boat. We ended up not bothering and just walking. I’d recommend visiting but maybe come off season or get here super early. The time slot is just for entrance, not the boats.

Remember the place, great service, and good rooms. Placed two minutes from the entering of Plitvice park, do not need a car to enter. Great breakfast. We loved it and recommended everyone to come and enjoy it. Thank you, Milica and Nicolas, the stay here was amazing because of your great service.
This beautiful hotel was very comfortable and easy to find. Check in was a breeze and the room was amazing. We had a wonderful balcony to sit on. The property also has a lot of outside sitting and a few swings. There is free parking on the property and they allowed us to leave our car there while we hiked in the park. The 3rd entrance to the park is a 5 Min walk away and very convenient. We were able to go the opposite way of most people visiting and had zero wait for the boat at the end of the day since everyone is heading the other way.
Location, location! This is an amazing place to stay with so many perks. The entrance to Plitvice Park is just a short walk away, and there are a couple of really nice restaurants within walking distance. Our host, Mirjana, was wonderful. Even though we arrived late, she was there to greet us and help us get settled. She asked what time we’d like breakfast, and had everything prepared and ready earlier than scheduled. The breakfast spread was incredible—so many options, including cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt, jams, breads, and coffee. On top of that, she made us delicious eggs every morning. The room was spotless, and we had a beautiful balcony overlooking the backyard. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air, complete with Adirondack chairs, a swing, and tables. Parking was free and right at B&B. We couldn’t have asked for more. We would absolutely stay here again, and I can’t wait to recommend it to my friends and family.
Everything was absolutely excellent. The room was super big and had everything you need. Cleaning 10+++. A lot of attention to details, you could tell the accommodation was carefully and tastefully designed. The host was incredibly nice and she makes the best pancakes and scrambled eggs. So you can probably tell we also loved the breakfast. :) For the Park, you can buy online any Entrance ticket and the hour doesn't matter that much. There is an unofficial entrance very close by, where the Park staff will scan your tickets. We visited in September, but I recommend you to eat your morning breakfast, then grab some snacks for the rest of the day. There are very limited options on the resting areas on the routes. For dinner, we highly recommend to avoid the restaurants nearby the accommodation, take the car and drive for 15 minutes to Restaurant Degenija - better prices and much better quality food. I really hope all accommodations were like this. 💚
A friendly and relaxing accommodation amidst the park with clean and pleasant rooms, free WiFi, free parking, breakfast, freshly cooked dinner and more. Just three minutes walking from the park entrance. Everything is lovingly attended to by host Milica who makes you feel welcome from the very first moment and is a great help for planning your visit to the park as well. For my next visit, I will definitely come back here!
Excellent location, walking distance from the park. Clean, spacious and fairly new rooms. Nice breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff, special thanks to Milica at the reception.
Modern, new and clean rooms. Amazing outdoor area. Very helpful and friendly staff who can help you with buying tickets and give you tips on what to see or where to eat in the area. If you are looking for a quiet place in Plitvice, this is the best place. The accommodation is approx. 400-500 meters from the unofficial entrance to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. However, you can only use this entrance with a valid ticket, which you must purchase in advance (24 hours) on the Plitvice Lakes website. We spent in this place 3 wonderful nights and had enough time to explore Plitvice lakes and taste local food
Milica Rapaic was a perfect host for such a cute and picturesque B&B in the great mountains of the Plitvica!! With the help of Milica, she help planned my proposal here :) She gave secret tips of the best view points that only the locals know! She and the team exceeded expectations and made us feel very warm and welcomed. We could not highly recommend the B&B (my fiancée mentioned it was the best shower she ever used!) and a special thank you from us in making our stay, a perfect night to remember for the rest of our lives! So interesting! We had a wonderful tour with a knowledgeable and funny tour guide. Highly recommend!
The cave itself is not a spectacular experience. It's nice, nothing more. It's the tour guides that make it really interesting with their stories and jokes. The area below the cave entrance is pretty lovely for picnicking and just spending some relaxing time under the shades of the wood. The wifi is available and free.
The caves are nice and the walking paths are good and well signed, but the best part is near the info point: a good park to relax for families, you can pass the whole day there
We had a great time. The guide Filip was just awesome - explained a lot of details, was very funny and kind, we really enjoyed the tour, also the park is really pleasant with big green playgrounds
We had the most amazing tour with Filip, he was very informative and made the tour very enjoyable. Our two sons 5 and 3 were also able to enjoy the tour and were listened to when they asked questions. Would highly recommend visiting when in the area.
We visited the cave with our 2 daughters and experienced a great tour! The guide was excellent and we really enjoyed the tour.
Fun little cave. We are in Croatia and do not speak Croatian so I cannot complain very much but the guide split the group into Croatian and English speakers- he spent a long time with the Croatian group and then was very brief with the English group and said, “sorry, the next group is coming.”
A network of caves, most of which are inaccessible to the public for various reasons. Subsequently there's nothing really memorable to see here - walk to the end of a passage and walk back. At 40 euros for two adults and a child its most definitely overpriced for the limited experience on offer. If you have a P Lakes ticket you can get a small discount. Cave guide was engaging and entertaining.

Located in the Upper Lakes region (south area) and accessed from entrance 2 , this where you'll find several waterfalls in close proximity on the E, F and K trails. This area can be hiked comfortably in about 3-4 hours (including photo stops) but there are some hilly sections. You'll be rewarded with some stunning views of turquoise lakes
Great place for a photo with a waterfall in the backdrop. We arrived here when the park first opened. Great decision. One hour later and a ton of people were arriving. If you want to use a tripod and a clean shot without people then start your tour here.
Little Prštavac comes right after big Prštavac. They actually represent the overflow of Lake Galovac into Lake Gradinsko. Scenes that are experienced in person often cannot be conveyed by photography or video. Recommended for all nature lovers. This place must be on your bucket list.
I liked the area and the beautiful nature around the lake and waterfall.. Very busy if you arrive late morning.. Difficult for old people to walk for a long distance to reach the beat area and the lake... Another walking distance to the waterfall.. To be honest,,, very beautiful lake and area around it but waterfall not really... Waterfalls that I have seen in Bosnia is way better and more beautiful than this one...
One of the most amazing waterfalls in this place of wonders !
Very beautiful place to visit nature. Mali Prstavac is beautiful and breathtaking.
Fantastic place, a long lined formed to take pictures.

What an AMAZING experience! My mum and I stayed for two nights at the ranch, going on a 2 hour hack on the first day and then the half day ride to the deer valley Our guide Dina was amazing and made us feel super safe and comfortable, and even got me to do my first canter 🤩 She took photos and videos of us along the whole journey as well! The horses are super lovely and calm and they have three absolutely gorgeous dogs that live super free and even came on the rides with us!! The deer valley ranch was astounding, with an hour long tour & feeding experience, then snacks of local meats and cheeses provided! The room was absolutely gorgeous and spotless as well, with a great little tea corner and balcony. Absolutely fantastic experience 10/10 would recommend to anyone and we'll be bringing more people with us when we come back soon 💕
My daughter booked this fabulous 2 hour afternoon trek at Ranch Terra and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Ema our guide was great company along the way and our two horses Lisa and Luna superb for relative novice riders. The horses are clearly loved and well cared for, we felt safe at all times and enjoyed getting to see some more of the stunning Croatian landscape from the saddle. We’d highly recommend them if you’re looking for a change of scenery and something a little different to do. 🐴 😊👍
My family had a wonderful time at Ranch Terra. Beautiful family farm setting to start our trail ride. Marin, our guide took the time to ask our riding experience to match us with our horse for the afternoon. The horses were well taken care of and well behaved on the ride. The views were absolutely stunning, probably the most picturesque ride we have done (and we have two horse girls so we have been on many!). We would definitely recommend (and return) to Ranch Terra!
My 10-year-old daughter and I spent the first riding vacation of our lives at Ranch Terra, and it was a wonderful experience. The horses were absolutely well-behaved, and we were able to gallop a lot. The landscape is beautiful and diverse. We spent a week at the ranch and went on a different trail ride every day. Most of the time, we were accompanied by the ranch’s dogs. The horses are not afraid of anything — they don’t spook or shy away. You never have to worry about them jumping to the side. Marin and his parents, who own the ranch, are incredibly kind. During our stay, Marin took many perfect photos and videos of us, so we’ll always have wonderful memories. The room was clean, and we felt very welcome. It was a perfect first experience, and we’ll be very happy to come back. See you soon.
We had a fantastic experience at Ranch Terra! From the start, they were very responsive to emails and made booking easy. It’s a lovely, family-owned farm with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The team was incredibly attentive to our children, making sure they felt safe and comfortable on horseback. They went above and beyond to make the day special, even taking photos during the ride and sharing them afterward so we could remember the experience. Highly recommend for families looking for a memorable horseback riding adventure! Marin was our guide and he was fantastic! The kids fed the horses apples after, which added to the whole experience. Highly recommend!
The absolute best horse-riding experience I have ever had! We walked through different landscapes and kept on getting stunned by the beauty of nature. Best time to go is for sure at Sunset. The horses were extremely well mannered and well-kept, the care that the people working at Ranch Terra put in their work is evident. We already decided to go back next time we’re in Croatia.
What an amazing experience! We did a one-hour horse ride, and our guides were truly awesome and so helpful throughout. The ranch is absolutely lovely, and everything — from the horses to the dogs — is so well cared for. A big thank you to the whole team for doing such a wonderful job!
I had a major fall in 2023 from a horse so was very nervous to get back on one. Dina the guide was very patient with me and we had a lovely ride through the ranch and forest. It was the second time for my partner on a horse and he felt very comfortable on his horse. Highly recommend

We had a wonderful stay at Dudo's Equestrian Club. The campsite was perfect, offering a peaceful and scenic location. Dudo's hospitality made the experience even more special—he welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. He clearly takes great care of his horses, and his passion for them shows. My kids were also treated to a beautiful horse ride, which they absolutely loved. In the evening, we had some fantastic conversations with Dudo about life and current events, discovering that we had so much in common. After less than 24 hours, we now consider Dudo our friend. He is a genuinely friendly and pure-hearted person. Our stay exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely come back. Thank you, Dudo!
We had an amazing experience here! Beautiful horses, and other animals we seen! taken care of very very good! We had a great time, Dudo and Sandra were very friendly and helpful, and I loved seeing how much they love the animals! Dudo showed me his much loved chickens too😃🐓views are amazing too! Highly recommend visiting here😃
Have been there for one night, with our 8m 6 Ton Camper, no problem to get there. About 6 spots for campers. Very nice person and family! My kids 13+16 took a horse ride the next morning and enjoyed it a lot. Too nice not to come back again once in a while. The area has many nice small attractions to offer even to stay some days. Thank you!
This place is like a tiny paradise! We wrote a message on whatsapp and got a very quick response and we couldnt have be more happy that we were able to stay there. there are some beautiful horses, hilarious goats, a super duper friendly dog (dont be scared, she just wants some love) and a few very curious cats which we called the car inspectors😌. all the animals look so sweet, well taken care of and they are all very friendly. Just like the owner 😉. thank you so much for letting us stay in your tiny piece of paradise! lots of love nina and mirjam
Love this place! The owner of this place is an amazing person. The horses were very calm and ridable by everyone. The trip itself was beautiful with a lot of beautiful open field views and forest views. We did the long 2 and a half ride and I strongly recommend it.
Fantastic activity, very nice and friendly host. Its a must do. When you visit the lakes, insure that you have free time to ride those lovely horses. Even their dogs are friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Me and my wife went there for one hour. Alongside the lakes, this is a main highlight of the trip.
We find this ranch very nice. Horses are kind, calm and well cared, in good shape and suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. Owner is very polite and well organized. We will be back!
The experience we get here was great! My wife and daughter first time sit on such beautiful and lucky horses. The owner Dudo, was so nice to us. We love the days here!

Lijepi took us on a fantastic bike ride, showing us some really nice 'secret places' where there weren't hordes of other tourists. His passion and enthusiasm really shows through in the tour, as he guides you around some fantastic scenery. Fantastic speaking English (helpful because I'm Croatian is non-existent) very easy to communicate with and friendly. All his equipment was really well kept and the bikes were brilliant. Highly recommend the e-bikes. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning ride exploring this beautiful part of Croatia 🇭🇷 🥰! Thanks Lijepi 😊
Did both the abandoned air base and e-bike lake tour with Hrvoje and highly recommend! He is an extremely knowledgeable local from the area, passionate about the detailed history/context and big plus: knows all the good photo angles! Can’t imagine a better guide.
Me and my girlfriend rented two nice mountainbikes. The owner gave us great advice for places to visit and you could always ask for more information. This region has alot of amazing places to see and we would definitily recommend hiring for a day or two!
My girl friend and I hired two bikes. One e-bike for her and a mountain bike for myself. Both were in excellent condition. We were given helmets and a pump too which was a nice touch. The owners also suggested a nice route for us both which catered to our needs. My girl friend isn’t so confident on two wheels or as used to going longer distances/rides. So the e-bike was a good leveller for us. Having little experience with e-bikes it’s amazing how those things assist up hill! She left me for dead! It’s a really beautiful area and nice to discover more to the national parks beyond the main attraction of the lakes. In the future I’d like more time cover more ground and check out the other routes as I know there is much more to explore and what better way than on bikes. If you want to rent bikes - you won’t be disappointed using these guys!
To make the most of any trip to this area I highly recommend a mountain bike tour from this company. My family and I took a tour of the local caves and surrounding area. 'H' is a knowledgeable and hospitable guide. To 'H' - Thanks for making it such a memorable experience (we won't forget the downpour - as Brits we're used to the rain!😁)
We went on a tour with Hrvoje to the national park in June. The bikes were very good, and Hrvoje gave us an amazing tour of the park. It was a wonderful experience
Great great service ! The owner was really nice and available (he could deliver a bike literally anywhere in the area within 3h when I called out of the blue). He brings the bikes where you are and picks them up where you are also. I could pay via PayPal which was really practical. The bikes were in perfect condition, same with the gear that comes with them. You should 100% rent bikes here :)
This was the best day ever. So much fun. Bikes to the lakes, a hike, and then a quick dip, before a fabulous meal! Best day ever.

First time back on a horse after very many years. Martina runs an establishment where the animals are well kept, housed and trained. Martina takes great care to establish the riding ability of visitors and has well chosen riding trails available for all ranges of ability. The short treck I enjoyed took us through very pleasant wooded trails at a time of year when there is a wide array of Autumnal colours and smells wandering picturesque trails with only the sounds of nature. Thank you so much Martina.
I had a wonderful ride with my guide. The horses are happy, well maintained and cared for by considerate people who genuinely for their environment and animals. The ride through the forest was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend 👌
Our trip was very pleasant (beginner's level), the horses were beautiful, and the guide was very friendly.
Such a beautiful place to ride with a wonderful and friendly guide, Martina. A perfect family run business which is borne out of their shared love of horses. Forest paths, fresh air and lively, much loved horses made this a great riding experience for an intermediate/advanced level rider.
We had a very nice experience. We called in the afternoon and we booked an excursion very easily for 1 hour. The owner/ our guide spoke perfect English and brought us into the forest. It's been a wonderful experience. We loved it and we raccomand this ranch if you like horses and quiet landscapes. Very easy to reach from Korenica. Thank you very much. Maura and Michel😍
Thank you very much for this wonderful horse riding trip today! Very friendly owner and great guides. Answers each question and explain each detail of their horses. The horses are very lovely and top fit. We would like to come back again. Very good, keep it up!
Andrey was an amazing guide. We had never ridden horses before and he gave us very clear instructions on the basics. He made us feel quite comfortable upfront and at no point did we feel that we were in danger with the horses. We were quite glad we did this.
Hello Martina, thank you so much for this wonderful experience in nature. We had a realy nice and relaxed riding through the forest. Your dogs&horses are so lovely like you, wish you all the best💚
