Avila National Park in Venezuela is a mountainous paradise offering stunning panoramic views, outdoor activities like hiking and birdwatching, and a serene natural setting. The park's iconic Avila Mountain looms over Caracas to the north, providing cooler temperatures for the city. Visitors can take a gondola up for great views and explore the Humboldt Hotel before embarking on hiking routes to Galipan.
My favorite thing about Caracas it’s definitely the Avila, it’s actual name it’s Guaraira Repano. You can do many things nature walks, go to the rivers, get to the top and eat there’s even one of the best hotels called the Humboldt, you can even go ice skating on the top of the Avila. It’s definitely a visit you need to make

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Caracas, the Teresa Carreño Theater is a cultural gem that should not be missed. Opened on April 19, 1983, this magnificent venue is celebrated as Venezuela's most significant theater and ranks as the second largest in South America. With its striking brutalist design covering an impressive 88,000 m², it pays homage to the renowned pianist Teresa Carreño.
The Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas is truly a cultural gem and an architectural masterpiece. This striking brutalist structure stands as one of Latin America's most impressive performing arts venues, commanding attention with its bold concrete forms and dramatic geometric shapes. What makes this theater so special is how it successfully blends the rawness of brutalist architecture with elements of classical design, creating a space that feels both contemporary and timeless. The massive concrete exterior gives way to surprisingly warm and acoustically perfect interior spaces. The main concert hall is simply breathtaking, with excellent sightlines and acoustics that enhance every performance. Named after the renowned Venezuelan pianist Teresa Carreño, the theater honors her legacy by providing a world-class venue for opera, ballet, orchestral performances, and other cultural events. The building's multiple performance spaces allow for diverse programming that caters to various artistic expressions. The interior detailing is particularly noteworthy - from the elegant wood paneling to the thoughtful lighting design that softens the concrete elements. The grand foyers and staircases create a sense of occasion before you even reach your seat. For architecture enthusiasts, this is a must-visit example of brutalist design that actually succeeds in being both functional and beautiful. For performing arts lovers, the quality of the space elevates every performance. The Teresa Carreño Theater stands as a powerful symbol of Venezuela's cultural heritage and artistic ambitions.

Arepa Factory Luna Llena is a delightful haven for fans of Venezuela's beloved street food, the arepa. These small, fried corn cakes are crafted from maize flour and come in two sizes: the hearty luna llena (full moon) and the petite luna slim. Guests can choose between maize or whole wheat flour for their base, making it easy to customize their meal.
They offer a wide variety of arepas, made with different types of flour. Their arepas are always thin and crunchy; a marvelous combination. Quite recommended if you have a craving for arepas, empanadas and Toddy

Food was great. The restaurant is famous for its steaks, but they also serve great fish and some Venezuelan classics like Pabellon. Nicely decorated with vintage pictures from Caracas City. It is quite a big restaurant and it can get a bit loud; not very cozy but perfect if you are with a group. Great parking and good central location in Las Mercedes.

I visit Caracas regularly for business. Maute has always kept its high standard of service and food. Business dinners have always pleased my clients from overseas. At about 1/3 the cost of steakhouses in the USA, the quality and professionalism of the service will make it that much more better. A typical antiue spanish service style, always attentive and pleasing. If you are in Caracas, you should eat there the first evening.
