INS Chapal (K94) Warship Museum is a unique beachside attraction located near Rabindranath Tagore Beach in Karwar. It features the decommissioned warship INS Chapal, which was a key player in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the ship's interior, including the captain's cabin and control room, providing an educational and entertaining experience for history enthusiasts and families alike.
Visited the Warship Museum (INS Chapal) in Karwar – a unique experience inside a real Navy ship. You can explore cabins, weapons and get a feel of naval life. The view from the deck, especially near sunset, is beautiful.

It’s a great place to visit. It’s a very small theme based museum. It’s a navy ship INS Chapal and a cargo plane. Only navy ship is converted into museum where you can go inside seeing all the inner things like how to cabins were made, how the staff operated, how the places and engines are designed and assembled. Everything being kept in its original form that’s why it became rotten. But worth visiting. It’s lies somewhere between Gokarna and Goa route(may be I am not correct) Entry fees only 20rs per person. Must visit once.

"Must-visit destination for naval enthusiasts and history buffs! INS Chapal (K94) Warship & Aircraft in Karwar is a unique museum showcasing India's naval heritage. The decommissioned warship and aircraft on display are impressive and provide a glimpse into the country's maritime history. We were thoroughly impressed by the museum's exhibits, which included artifacts, photographs, and interactive displays. The staff was knowledgeable and eager to share insights into the ship's history and operations. A visit to INS Chapal is a great way to learn about India's naval history and appreciate the sacrifices of our brave sailors. Highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in naval history, technology, and patriotism.

The Warship & Aircraft museum at the Karwar beach is a special thing. We are allowed to get the glimpse of a decommissioned missile launcher ship of Indian Navy, the INS Chapal. Along with that the anti submarine aircraft Tuplev T-142M is also on display. After watching the amazing machines from inside and outside, one is filled with pride about the skills and hardwork that our soldiers put in for our safety. Photography is allowed on the deck and inside the ship but not inside the plane. AC are installed inside to make our experience more comfortable. A must watch if you go to Karwar. ₹ 50 are charged as ticket fee per person. The museum is open daily from 9.30 to 12.30 and then from 14.00 to 17.00

Located less than a km from Rabindranath Tagore beach, this warship museum uncovers the rich legacy of the Indian Navy. A great place especially to those who love to experience and pay attention to tiny details from the structure to a unique glimpse into life at sea. Entry fee is ₹15 and please ensure you carry change with you. Online payment was not accepted when I visited so please ensure you have cash to avoid unnecessary hassle.

It's a wonderful experience to see this 2 different war heroes. The complex wiring and control rooms on the ship and jet reveal intense engineering effort. A truly powerful and unforgettable visit. The cockpit view is amazing. Highly recommended.!

**A Memorable Family Visit to INS Chapal (K94)** *Visited: February 2023* We visited the INS Chapal Warship Museum in Karwar in February two years ago it was an unforgettable experience for all of us. The warship, now turned into a museum, gave us a deep glimpse into the Indian Navy’s proud history. My son was absolutely fascinated — he read *every single piece* of information displayed on the ship and asked so many thoughtful questions. It made me so happy to see his curiosity and interest in our country’s defense forces. The ship is well laid out, and we could walk through the control room, crew cabins, and missile display area. The mannequins dressed as officers added a realistic touch, and the short documentary played onboard was quite informative. Though parts of the ship could use a little maintenance, the overall experience was patriotic, educational, and very special for our family. A must-visit if you’re in or around Karwar — especially with children! On our way back home, we made an impromptu stop at the Naval Aviation Museum in Goa, and it was the perfect continuation of our naval-themed trip. My son was absolutely thrilled there too — especially with the twin-rotor helicopter (the two-fan one, as he called it). He couldn’t stop staring at it and was full of questions about how it flies. The museum had a great outdoor display of aircraft, and it really sparked his imagination. It felt like the perfect ending to a journey filled with history, curiosity, and admiration for our armed forces.
Prajakta B — Google review
This is the real experience of a naval Air craft. Mr Naik is an absolute gem of a person who patiently transforms the "visit" to an "experience". This experience is truly transcendental. The ticket prices at 50 are probably the best steal of the millennium for the experience in the real aircraft. Tempering expectations, the cockpit access is blocked as the aircrafts's real switch gear controls the lights and air conditioning (yes retrofitted for comfort) and people just figitting with controls plunge others into total darkness. Also the back gunner area is too narrow for anyone and is blocked to prevent head banging incidents. Sheerly being there increases respect for the armed forces multi fold due to the sheet complexity and arduous conditions our soldiers have to bear to secure our lives.

Small temple near Kajubag. Comes into limelight once in a year during the Narasimha Jatraa. This is the second temple, another being on the other side of River Kali near Sadashivgad. The main temple is at Kadwad, from where the diety is taken by boat to the Kudumgad island, and returns after the jatraa is over. Legend has it that Lord Narasimha, after killing the demon Hinankashyap, came to this island to cool down his anger.

Nice beach. No amenities. Baywatchers are there for people's safety. Plenty of parking available.

Karwar Beach used to feel like an everyday childhood escape, but now it’s littered with garbage and surrounded by mess. The play area also needs serious attention, with rusted and damaged equipment in need of repair and improvement.
Jovita P — Google review
The beach is naturally serene and calm. Not crowded and can walk peacefully. It's dark sanded and has a rustic look. Landscapes are awesome with hills in background. It's just a few minutes detour from NH66 towards Mangalore side. Local government really need to work on the cleanliness side and need to build more facilities and a good toilet. Didn't find any good food stall or restaurant closeby. Dogs and cows wandering in the beach even at late night. Lot of littering all around the beach. Parking space is ample.

Seafood restaurant
Hotel Amrut, located on mainland Karwar near Syndicate Bank, is a long-standing traditional fish restaurant known for its exceptional dining experience. The menu offers a variety of authentic seafood choices with remarkable flavors that justify the cost. Portion sizes strike a balance between adequacy and excess, and standout dishes include garlic butter prawns and prawn ghee roast for those who enjoy spiciness.
Great place to experience authentic karwari food. The fish here is fresh and scrumptious. We had dinner and lunch at the place, both veg and non veg. Had prawns masala which was tasty and good quantity for 2. Surmai in karwari masala was amazing. The hospitality is very good. The kokakm soda is must and very refreshing after heavy meals. Price is matching to Mumbai but the taste and fresh seafood is good. Avoid rush hours if you wanna enjoy relax meals.

We had an amazing dining experience! The non-veg dishes were outstanding - the fish fry, prawns, and chicken biryani were all delicious. The veg option, kaju masala, was also flavorful. The mushroom starter was a highlight. Special thanks to Sanjay for his excellent service and guidance in trying these dishes. Highly recommended!!

The service was prompt and attentive, with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Overall, a great place for tasty food and good ambiance!

Just bcoz the taste is good and it is hyped don't mean 5 star review i just ordered prawns ghee roast from this place and they send me literally 5pcs and barely any masala on the whole it would have been 150-170 grams thats it and it costs ₹515 imagine! 5pc of prawns in-season for that price im very very disappointed i loved this place for the longest time and this is not accepted wont be coming back.

Great Food, Fast Service & Budget-Friendly! Amrut Restaurant in Karwar is a great dining spot just a minute's drive from Karwar Beach – very convenient for tourists. The restaurant is quite spacious, making it ideal for families and large groups. We tried a variety of dishes including Tesara Sukha, Squid Batter Fry, Chicken Crispy, Prawn Ghee Roast, Finger Chips, Chicken Hyderabadi, Veg Noodles, Prawn Rawa Fry, Butter Naans, and a few drinks. Every dish easily ranked a solid 4 out of 5. The Prawn Ghee Roast was flavourful and well-spiced, while the Squid Batter Fry came with some fried veggies, which was a pleasant and tasty surprise. Service was quick and our server was helpful throughout. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and variety. Four-wheeler parking was available a little ahead of the restaurant, which was convenient. The only downside was the washroom cleanliness – definitely needs improvement. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Overall, a great place to try authentic coastal food in Karwar. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Went there seeing the hype and review in Google. Just usual south indian dishes with average taste. No cleanliness or ambience at all. They even keep their waste just under the standing dining table. Tried the snacks, coffee and kashaya. Nothing special about any food item. Cleanliness was below par. Not going back again for sure.

Best taste in town! You can enjoy authentic South Indian breakfast delicacies. The place is a bit congested and may look untidy if you're new to this town but that's how the place has been functioning since years. You can take away if the place concerns you that much. I'm rating it all stars only for the taste they serve.

Restaurant located in the heart of the city. The ambiance is good with pleasant lighting.😃 Located in 1st floor, but entrance is confusing. Huntera den has better rating than any other restaurant in Karwar and when we visited here it felt it true. It's spacious hygienic and the ambience is good. They have special hunters den biriyani it's more or less the same biriyani but boneless chicken. They provide very tasty food and waiting time was like 5-10mins unless it's tandoori items. Only problem that we had here is parking but we managed it by parking bit far. I came here thrice and it was never disappointing so I will visit again when i am at Karwar.

I don't like the taste of Hunters Special biriyani the cost of biriyani is Rs 180..not much the taste.. quantity is ok but the boneless chicken and rice not good ..grilled peri peri chicken charged Rs 250 only three pieces and taste is not good price very high . Hotel ambience ok and cleaning ok. iam not recommended....

A well built restaurant with a beautiful ambience, sadly there's no music played in the restaurant (probably because it has just opened). But honestly for an ambience of such beauty the absence of music is strongly felt... Coming to the service - a satisfactory one, my friend wanted to charge his phone for an emergency and the staff was kind enough to charge his phone at the counter. We ordered chicken manchow soup and surprising the soup was served COLD, when we asked the server to get it changed for us, the server showed professionalism, apologized for the mistake and quickly heated the soup for us... For the main course - we ordered nan and chicken tikka masala. The curry was well balanced with spices and the naan was fluffy, soft and obviously hot!!! On the whole I would definitely recommend this place for a decent evening supper with family and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm writing this review after my visit for the second time. My second visit was exactly after a week of my first visit to this place. The quality of the food is not maintained, I really loved the dynamite chicken the first time - but this time it was completely different.. The service is not satisfactory at all. I'm totally disappointed on my second visit..

This place is only hyped (also by youtubers ---- could be paid promotion).. The only thing I liked here is the washroom. The food is average. The solkadi was spoilt still they served it. Service is really bad. When I asked for a glass of water they just gave me an empty steel glass. When asked about the water, they said they don't serve water like that, and that I have to purchase the Bisleri water bottle from them for which they charged Rs. 25 for 1 Ltr. The steel glass wasn't cleaned & washed properly. The food was expensive. I had ordered fish thali. The space on the first floor wasn't good .. Tables closely placed ..there's no personal space maintained for the customers. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, there are much better options in Karwar than this place. And I will never again visit this restaurant.

An old establishment serving authentic konkan dishes. Tucked away inside the complex this sea food restaurant has ageging upholstery and setup ,but the food served is amazing and tasty . The fish is as fresh as it can get in karwar and they have wide varieties. Live crabs 🦀 sukka is yummy . The dishes are traditional konkani fare, so it might not be the similar tasting to what you would have tasted for similar named item elsewhere. The best part is the price , it's unbelievable worth every penny.Parking is hard to find on the road where it's located ,but u can park it near the municipal building and walk 500 meters to start your feast .
