Park
Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park is a captivating 701-acre site that showcases over 12,000 years of human history, including the Paleo Indians and the Muscogee Nation. The park features seven Mississippian-era mounds, a museum displaying artifacts, and eight miles of hiking trails that offer insights into the area's past and its diverse wildlife. With ongoing efforts to preserve Native American history and culture, the park is on track to become a designated National Park.
Stopped by for the first time while on the road. So happy I did, as this park is nominated to become a full-fledged national park. The visitors center is architecturally surprising, art deco-like. According to the ranger, building began in the 1930s and completed in the 1950s. The park has seven mounds and several trails. The ceremonial Earth Lodge has been restored, allowing visitors to enter. Keep your head down as the entry corridor is very low. It is air conditioned, which was a pleasant surprise. Very interesting. Be sure to visit it's diorama in the museum. It depicts the tribal ceremonial seating arrangement. The Great Temple Mound is worth the hike to the top to see the surrounding vistas. There are plenty of benches along the way to rest if needed. There is a ni e gift shop as well. Time permitting, I will definitely return to more fully explore. It is well worth the visit.

Definitely worth a trip to see these mounds. We had less than an hour before the gates closed and we saw two mounds and the museum. I'm glad I made time to go here and see some of our Georgia history. Plus it is free that is another reason to go.
Paul P — Google review
Visited while on the way from Hilton Head to Atlanta. Was looking for a quick attraction on the way and Google showed it on top. There is. Visitor center with a decent size museum and then mounds as main attraction. There were not many visitors as we reached quite close to the closing time. There were quite a few trails people were trekking. Nice place to visit one time, but avoid going during peak summer as there are not much shade around mounds.
Nirmal M — Google review
Made an impromptu stop here and had a lovely time. The trails and visitors center were closing at 5 and we had about an hour to explore before the gates shut but we were able to walk around and climb to the top of the temple mound (there's also parking at the bottom of the steps but we opted to walk from the visitors center). I wish we had more time to explore the rest of the trails, but now we know we want to come back! The visitors center is clean and has a nice exhibit and the rangers were super friendly and helpful. We came with our three young children and it was manageable. Highly recommend!

I've been wanting to go here for years and my visit did not disappoint. Between the natural beauty and the cultural significance of the area, it's a must visit. The visitor center has very informative displays and a large amount of artifacts to view. I suggest starting off there to give yourself a good background before viewing the mounds. If you're a gift shop fan like me, the one here is small but mighty. I was happy to see they had items from local artisans for sale as well as the usual shirts/books/ magnets. The folks working in the visitor center were lovely as well. The mounds and trails were spectacular. Trails were well maintained and easy to follow. If you're limited on how much walking you can do, many mounds are visible from multiple parking areas along the road through the site. There is a staircase that takes you to the top of the largest mound which provides spectacular views and lets you immerse yourself in the significance of the site. Hiking trails are available around the area, and are all fairly short but pleasant hikes. There are many seating areas throughout if you need to rest or just want to sit and appreciate the area. Definitely bring of water and sunscreen because it's Georgia and the areas around the mounds are mostly in direct sun. There was a large amount of wildlife around as the park was not very crowded. The thing I was most surprised by was the amount of native wildflowers and other flora through the area. If you're a native plant lover, you'll find an unexpected treat here. I spent about 4 hours at the park and didn't make it through everything, so if you're a real history buff or like to meander, you could easily spend a whole day.

An oasis of history and nature just outside Macon! The park is beautifully maintained, with easy parking and a peaceful atmosphere. The small museum and gift shop are great, and the Park Rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful place to explore—can’t wait to see it become a full National Park!

The shade is delightful! It was a great family experience. Building happy memories together makes your family stronger. ITS FREE! It was very educational and you won't regret going.

A great combination of history and hiking. I loved the fact we were allowed to go into the Ceremonial Mound. The exhibits were wonderful. We saw an alligator and a deer during our hike.

Sights & Landmarks
The Hay House, also known as the Johnston-Felton-Hay House, is a grand 19th-century mansion located in Downtown Macon, Georgia. This architectural masterpiece spans 18,000 square feet and features 24 rooms adorned with marble statues, stained glass, ornate period furnishings, and paintings. Built in Renaissance Revival style by Italian craftsmen in 1859, it has earned the nickname 'Palace of the South' due to its grandeur.
The Hay House is must visit for anyone interested in Architecture/design and historical significance. The techniques used to create the textured walls,  wood detailing and curved pocket doors, windows and hidden passage ways are unique and truly remarkable. In addition the ventilation system created by strategically placed vents made it possible to store foods and wine throughout the year. The venting also helped cool the home in summer months. The home has many surprises that are fun to learn about. Macon Ga. has a lot to offer and the Hay House is one of its many treasures.
Vin B — Google review
Beautiful. It was great to see the detail and work put into building the home and restoring it. The tour guide was wonderful. So knowledgeable. She could answer every question with ease and made us feel comfortable. It was also nice to learn the history of the city. Definitely worth experiencing
Kenisha W — Google review
We took a tour of the Hay House with the fabulous guide Deborah. The house is gorgeous with many ingenious features such as running water (before the White House had that) and a cooling and warming system. The way Deborah spoke about the house and everything it made the tour more special. In the summer I do recommend to take the tour as early as possible (first ions is at 10AM) due to the heat.
Sharon B — Google review
We had our October wedding at the hay house! The home itself is beautiful; there is no need to spend extra on wedding decor because the home is gorgeous! If you are under a contract with the HH, I highly recommend going over every tiny detail with the coordinator…because there were hidden fees not discussed in the contract. We were charged for linens when it was never mentioned to us in writing or in person, and there are many many limitations in using the house (some understandable due to it being a museum home). MOST of the staff were very helpful but there was not much communication day of. I would visit the home again but not book it as a venue.

This is a beautiful place to visit, amazing architecture, gorgeous details. GPS gave terrible directions, but we figured it out. The tour guide was very good, extremely happy we went.

Lovely at Christmas time. It was a great date night. A blast from the past as if visiting my great grandparents again.

An unforgettable visit — especially thanks to Deborah! Our visit to Hay House was absolutely wonderful, and a big part of that was thanks to Deborah, our tour guide. She led the tour in such an engaging way that even my six-year-old children were fully captivated — and that’s no easy task! Her storytelling, warmth, and energy truly brought the house to life. And the house itself… it’s breathtaking. The moment you step inside, it literally takes your breath away. A true architectural and historical gem. We’ll definitely be back in the winter when all the floors are open and the house is decorated for Christmas — we’re sure it will be magical!
Yulia S — Google review
One of the absolute best tours we have ever had. The extremely knowledgeable lady that took us through the house was a gifted storyteller. She had stories for every room that were funny and informative. The house was fantastic as well, very amazing rooms throughout the home that will definitely wow you. But without the tour guide it would have been no where near as impactful! We went on the 1pm tour 5/13/23 highly recommended the visit

Nature & Parks
Amerson River Park is a vast natural oasis spanning 180 acres, boasting woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. The park has been recently renovated with a multi-million dollar project, offering an immaculate wilderness experience. Visitors can enjoy picnics by the Ocmulgee River and explore the waters via canoe. Additionally, there are over 3.5 miles of walking trails that wind through tranquil woodland areas, providing opportunities to escape the city for a peaceful half-hour stroll.
Amazing park created where the water treatment plant used to be before a big flood in the early 90s. I love that there is a big paved loop path that is accessible as well as more “off road” hiking trails by the river and a pond. There is also a playground my kids love, plenty of parking, and a bathroom. Great views of the river! Bring bug spray if you go on the trails near the water, as the area is heavily wooded and there is lots of wildlife.
Hannah S — Google review
This is generally a clean park although there were a couple places where other people were smoking marijuana, which was not enjoyable to walk through. There are pavilions and overlooks here and plenty of space to hang out or walk or jog. There are a lot of memorials here where people drowned in the river so be super careful of the water here
B — Google review
Great off trail hiking with beautiful river views. Pavement trails available for those who prefer to walk, cycle, run & etc. They also provide an exercise circuit available free for those interested in working out & kids play ground. Safe & clean. Recommend for all ages

Very nice park, it’s clean, quiet and relaxing. They also have a park gym and area for tubing. My walk around was 30mins they also have small trails that’s connected to the big trail. I went in the morning, and it’s shaded and paved!

It was my first time visiting Amerson River Park with our CHOSEN life group, and I will personally be back . This park is a little hidden gem tucked away in North Macon. Gorgeous. Most of the trails are shaded by overlapping trees and It is filled with beautiful views of the river. There is a park for the children to play and pavilions for gatherings. At every turn there is picture worthy scenery for a morning walk, golfing, or a special event. A must see.
Tessany L — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to speak up today because I truly care about our city. My husband and I have lived in Macon for nearly 10 years, and one of our favorite places has always been Amerson Park. We've enjoyed many peaceful walks along the river and have always admired how beautiful and well-maintained the park has been—until now. Today, we took our one-year-old grandson to the playground and were heartbroken to see how neglected this part of the park has become. The slide was broken in a way that could easily cause serious injury, and there was a hole in the flooring large enough for a child to trip or fall through. There were no baby swings available, and the existing swings were not only old and noisy but seemed unsafe. Worse, the playground itself was dirty, and mold was visibly growing on the shade structures. I’m not writing this to complain, but to raise awareness. This park is a gem in our community, and it deserves attention—especially the areas meant for our youngest citizens. Our children deserve a safe, clean, and fun place to play. I sincerely hope someone in the parks department sees this and takes action. We love Amerson Park and want to continue visiting it with our children and grandchildren, knowing they are safe and cared for. Thank you for listening

I planned on going rock hounding unfortunately this place was not what I was looking for. However, it was a beautiful place for a good walk with friendly people.

The trails are great and I love using the free fitness equipment. My daughter has a great time at the playgrounds. I do wish the view of the river from the pavilions was cleared out.

It also hosts visiting exhibits on various aspects of culture, arts, and history. The museum features displays of historic folk art as well as paintings and sculptures by renowned African American contemporary artists from Georgia.
I visited the Tubman museum last week. It was a beautiful experience. I really liked the Tyler Perry exhibit. Since it was a field trip we were able to play African drums and listen to a story. It was worth the trip and the staff was very nice.

The whole museum is breathtakingly beautiful. My granddaughter and I spent over 2 hours there. The Tyler Perry exhibit is well worth the trip! The "Black art wall" is a wonderful representation of Black royalty and other roads that led us to become a strong tribe that will keep up the fight as long as the struggle presents itself! Kudos to Father Keil, founder of this amazing museum. Very well done!

A very cool place to visit in Macon! Great for kids and adults. I especially love their unique art exhibits and the planetarium. The Full Dome Festival during the Macon Film Festival is a must see!

2nd time taking my granddaughter. We love it. The staff is amazing. And I'm proud to say that my brother built the displays on the bottom floor. She loves to tell others that her Uncle Ray built it. The archeological dig is her favorite.

We decided to make this our final stop before leaving Macon. We were not disappointed! It was wonderful! We got to watch an animal show and the employee was very well informed and very knowledgeable. We learned alot about the animals she spoke on that day! We got a kick out of the small zoo and the bat cave! The Sweet gum trail was awesome and we loved the cabin. There was an amazing selection of art to view from sculptures and pottery to statues and paintings. We had a blast in the weather room and getting to go upstairs to the tree top and getting a closer look at one of the lemurs that joined us!I would definetly go back especially since I don't feel like we got to see everything.
Amber A — Google review
Really enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Arts and Sciences! Lots of interactive displays -- the projector sphere was exceptionally cool! My only complaint is the "mini zoo" has small containments for the animals they house, and they smelled.
Brooke H — Google review
This is a decent museum. The wildlife - particularly the lemurs - is really neat. The planetarium show was also great. The exhibits are also fun and somewhat interactive for the kids. My only complaint is that several of them were in disrepair and not functional. But still, worth the price of admission and a great way to spend two or three hours.
Zac C — Google review
Be Prepared for a all day affair.. bird show then planetarium then the animals and bat cave.. pack a cooler with snacks and drinks they don’t have food or drinks available
Vanessa S — Google review
This was my first time here on a field trip with my son, liked some of it but there were some disappointments. First they definitely overbooked because they tried to fit 2 schools with several classes in and it’s only so big. It takes several hours to go through everything but we didn’t get to enjoy everything because we would have to wait each time in the commons area. Our class never got to go into the planetarium which was unfair to the kids who were excited about it. Apparently something had to be cleaned before we could go into a room so that was more waiting. The nature trail was nice and the young tour guide was very sweet and informative. The outside bathrooms were locked when there was a sign posted on the door that they were available no one ever unlocked them. I went into the gift shop no one greeted me or even smiled for that matter and they were talking as I came in but then stopped as I was shopping around and just stared at me while I was shopping around which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcoming, I almost didn’t want to buy anything but I only did it for my son or I would have left, I also thought some of the items were overpriced. If they didn’t overbook and seem so frantic at times it may have been more enjoyable.
Samantha H — Google review
Awesome Museum. Tons of things for the kids to look at and learn about. The gentleman running the planetarium was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The costs to get in are inexpensive. Worth going out of the way and stopping here for a day! Family fun and adventure.

Fine dining restaurant
Dovetail is a charming restaurant located in the heart of a revitalized downtown area, offering farm-to-table American cuisine and pre-Prohibition cocktails. The menu features Southern-inspired dishes crafted with seasonal ingredients, showcasing the region's culinary heritage in a rustic yet sophisticated dining space. As part of The Moonhanger Group, which also operates The Rookery, Dovetail has garnered praise for its modern ambiance and inventive drinks.
On a return trip from Florida, we decided to stay in Macon for the night. Based on excellent Google reviews we chose to give Dovetails a try and we are so glad we did. All regular tables were booked tonight, but we were able to get reservations for bar seating which was fine for us. A strawberry shrub with mezcal cocktail and a Boulevardier with double Rye whiskey were a great start to our evening. We decided to stick with the often recommended dishes including pork belly bites, deviled eggs, cornbread muffins, and scallops with pimento cheese risotto. All were fantastic! Everyone at the bar finished their meal with cracked pie served with salted caramel gelato and so did we. Such a sweet dessert but it was very balanced with the salted caramel. Delicious! Dovetail didn't disappoint.
Craig D — Google review
Had a fantastic dinner here! Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the scallops with risotto—perfectly cooked—and the peach salad was a fresh, flavorful combo. But the real star was the crack pie… absolutely unforgettable. Great spot for a date night. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here! We were driving thru from Florida and we stopped for dinner. We sat at the bar, which was quaint and welcoming. They had a fabulous array of seasonal autumn cocktails. I ordered the Mrs Rogers and was properly balanced. We also decided on the deviled eggs, the farm salad, and we split the ginger pumpkin bisque pork chop. Everything was incredible, even all the attentive staff who always checked in on us. This is our second time stopping here for dinner and it hasn’t disappointed yet ❤️

If I could vote 10 stars I would ! The food was definitely delicious, on the pricey side but absolutely amazing!!!! Atmosphere was definitely nice, a bit upscale but not super over the top upscale. Now on to the service !!!!!!!! We did have a reservation set for our anniversary. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with the warmest welcome! They asked our name, and actually read the comments that I put online regarding our anniversary. I thought that was super thoughtful to actually acknowledge our anniversary. I’ve done that at other restaurants in the past and we weren’t acknowledged. From the hostess, to our wonder waitress Trinity, to the waiter that helped bring out the food, to the gentleman that I believe was the manager, literally EVERYONE ON STAFF WAS AMAZING !!! We are beyond thankful for a wonderful experience and we will be back!
B J — Google review
Everything was amazing. Food, Magnificent. Drinks, Tasty. Atmosphere, Pleasant. Bartender was cool, servers were attentive. The only thing I can possibly think to say negative, the booth seating could use a little cushion, it was pretty hard to sit comfortably on for awhile.. wouldn't stop me from coming back and just choosing a table or bar seating instead! Loved it there.
Kelly S — Google review
This restaurant left me speechless after eating! I mean it’s almost impossible to describe how great this restaurant was. The bread we had was very light and fluffy and the jam preserve that went with it was awesome! The pork bites appetizer was also excellent and the onions and sauce parred well with it. We ordered the ribeye as our main course and wow, absolutely wow! Seasoned to perfection, the sides were perfection, and it was the perfect temperature we requested. To end this night we ordered the chocolate brookie with the ice cream. Best brookie I’ve ever eaten! Everything was delicious and Will our server described the menu so well that our mouth was watering as he was talking! We also met the GM and just felt welcomed by the whole team! Absolutely give them a try!

The Rookery is a vibrant hangout that has been around since the late 1970s, offering a wide selection of craft brews, live music, and an outdoor patio. It has gained recognition for its legendary burgers and shakes, earning the title of 'Best Burger in town' and being featured in Garden and Guns Guide to the South's best Burgers. With over 50 years of experience, this multi-award winning eatery continues to attract a loyal following.
Great food, service, and ambiance. We went with the pimento cheese starter, Outcast sandwich, and buffalo chicken sandwich with onion ring side. Everything from the sandwiches to the sides, even the house made ranch was excellent. Our server, Mike, made us feel right at home. Would definitely eat here again and highly recommend.
West C — Google review
Found this funky little spot in the Macon historic district. Because this is a music town, there’s lots of memorabilia on the walls. They are known for their hamburgers and milkshakes, which as you can see in the photos we did not get. However, the Rookery salad was just what I was looking for and my fellow diner was very happy with her patty melt - the beef was cooked perfectly. I ordered a local craft beer that was very cold and a solid choice.
The T — Google review
Large party service was spot on, highly suggest. The fried food was excellent and clearly hand battered, mushrooms and onion rings were the stand outs. Don't sleep on that pimento cheese, it was excellent. The turkey sandwich was also quite tasty.

The Rookery in Macon, GA, is a true local gem that delivers on every front — food, atmosphere, and service. The burgers are absolutely amazing — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with creative toppings that set them apart from your average burger joint. The atmosphere is warm and lively, blending a classic Southern charm with a laid-back, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly take pride in what they do, adding to the overall great experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, The Rookery is a must-visit spot in downtown Macon.

First visit to the Rookery was a success! The portions are beyond generous! We had to get to-go boxes. The chips were delicious, the tea super sweet, and the service on point. We'd definitely visit again!

My coworker went to lunch with her husband and, since I couldn’t take a break today due to my daughter’s open house, I asked her to bring me back something to eat. I requested chicken tenders with fries and ranch — nothing fancy, just something quick. When I started eating, I noticed the chicken seemed undercooked — borderline raw. Concerned, I called the restaurant, not even to get a refund, but simply to let them know what happened. Unfortunately, I was met with a disappointing response from the manager, Greg. He told me that unless I physically brought the food back in, they couldn’t offer a replacement or even acknowledge the issue. I explained again that I hadn’t gone out for lunch because I didn’t have time — that’s why someone else picked it up for me. When I asked if that meant I just had to go without lunch until tomorrow, he confirmed I’d need to return with the food resolve anything. My receipt with the date and matching 4 to my debit card with not suffice! There was zero empathy. I understand it’s tough in the food industry with people trying to get free meals, but that wasn’t the case here. I value quality and consistency — I eat in the downtown area often and don’t mind paying for good food. But service like that? It’s enough to lose a regular customer. Check your chicken — and maybe show a little more care next time. The way you treat people matters.
Jasmine C — Google review
A rustic and local hamburger pub. I was in the area for work and went with a relatively large group do people for lunch. The menu was fairly diverse in terms of burgers. I ordered the Burger of the Month which they called The Vampire. Basically it's two grilled cheese sandwiches as the top and bottom bun and then a 1/2 burger with queso and Sriracha sauce. Phenomenal! The pimento cheese and chips were also top notch as an appetizer for the table. The stand out, for me, though, was the service. One member of our party has a nut allergy. They ordered the chicken salad sandwich. Bear in mind that there were no warnings anywhere on the menu that the Chicken salad contain nuts. Upon biting into the sandwich, my coworker immediately noticed and spit the food out into a napkin. Our waiter could not have been more apologetic. The manager even came over to check on us. They comped the meal and couldn't have been more gracious. If we are ever in the area, we will be back!

Amazing food and cozy atmosphere. Service was excellent and drink menu exceptional. Ribeye cooked to perfection, wonton BBQ pork nachos appetizer was a full meal itself, gouda Mac 'n Cheese was rich, interesting flavors in the tempura cauliflower. Fettuccine alfredo was very good as well. Highly recommend for dates.

“Let's Eat” Review of Oliver's! Wednesday's are a special Drinks Menu night with 50% off select wines and whiskeys. This is a perfect excuse to head downtown Midweek! We were greeted by our Bartender, Jordan. Full disclosure, he had responded to a previous post and told me about the Wednesday Happy Hour from 5PM to 9PM. When I went to the Facebook Page and the Website, I was instantly intrigued. So here we are! Cucumber Basil Martini $12 Being a Martini fan, I saw this on the specials menu and immediately ordered it. It's got this perfect summer fresh vibe to it with a fun twist of Fresh Cracked Pepper and Fresh Basil. Sidenote, the 2nd one was as good as the first. Anyone's guess how much better they get lol Tempura Cauliflower $13 This appetizer is deep fried to an entirely different level of everything your mind is imagining. It's crispy, but lite. The sauce is sweet and spicy. But it also has fresh elements. I cannot wrap my head around the way I want to describe this dish. All I can say is, ya'all need to order this dish with absolutely NO expectations because it will blow you away. One of my fav Appetizers I've ever had. Hands down. New Strip with Mashed Potatoes and Gouda Mac and Cheese $28 We ordered the steak Medium Rare and that's exactly how it came out. Cooked to perfection with some sort of in-house seasoning concoction that we can't figure out what's in it but after a few bites, we stopped caring because it was just so good. The Mac and Cheese is thick, creamy and tastes like the smoked gouda should. Filet Mignon with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans which was the veggie of the Day $40.00 I asked for Medium Well and that's exactly how it came. Grilled and seasoned to absolute perfection. Whatever seasoning they're using is clearly homemade and should be copyrighted. It's THAT good. We tried all different sauces including Garlic Butter, Bleu Cheese Cream and Au Poivre. One of the fun parts about ordering all 3 is judging your eating mates on which sauce is the best. (For me, the Bleu Cheese Cream was the clear winner despite my opponent being the Au Poivre) They were all amazing! Summing It Up… Let's face it. Wednesday's aren't a night that everyone looks forward to but making Oliver's part of your hump day ritual is definitely something to look forward to! The food, the drinks and the staff are guaranteed to make your Midweek a lot better. The Bottom Line… I feel that Oliver's is one of those Downtown Gems that should NOT be missed. Do yourself a solid… go to Oliver's on a Wednesday night and take advantage of this awesome mid week special night!

I love this bistro. Trendy, casual, comforting and delicious. The atmosphere is very quaint and inviting. Several Megan was amazing. She was very informative and kind. The food was scrumptious. I ended up with the best Chicken Pesto in Macon Ga. The flavors just melts in your mouth. So if you want to enjoy a delightful meal in a comfortable environment with with southern hospitality. You should give Oliver's Corner Bistro a visit. You will not regret it.

I had an absolutely splendid experience. The tempura cauliflower is a must have. The cheese pesto bread was quite the treat and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be returning in the near future. I have passed this place for years and I am mad at myself for just going. Definitely in my rotation of dinner venues now.

We came to Macon for a blues festival and picked this place months ago and made a reservation based on the menu, prices, and reviews. We arrived and were seated quickly. The service was great. Ethan was our server, and he was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food tasted amazing. My fiancé is a chef, and he was very, VERY pleased with the food. We purchased a bottle of wine, an appetizer, and salmon dinners. We will definitely return and recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to eat. Would 100% encourage you to make reservations before stopping in, though!

The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars was because the food was room temperature instead of hot. The manager was very nice as well as the greater, Rain and our server Tiara. Nice spot for a date or for a small group of girlfriends to get together.

We had a great time! We got the unlimited mimosa's the food was delicious! The service was wonderful! Sheena was great! Once we for those unlimited mimosa's flowing everything else was on point! The pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had. Literally! I never had pancakes that taste so good! Pancakes is usually not my goto, so i'm glad to ordered those🥞 #Olivers The weather was awesome, and the company of #cousins was filled with❤️8/14/22

The Honey Glazed Bourbon Salmon almost melts in your mouth, very tender, moist and delicious. The other dish was a Caesar salad with shrimp added just for the heck of it. You can choose to eat outside, at the bar with a TV, or in the back. Seems to be very popular so I would recommend getting a reservation.

Pizza restaurant
Restaurant
Located in Macon, Georgia, Ingleside Village Pizza is a quirky pizzeria known for its New York-style pies and subs. The restaurant also offers an extensive selection of imported beers. The eclectic and fun decor adds to the dining experience. It's a must-visit destination in Macon's diverse culinary landscape. Additionally, the gallery located in Ingleside Village features monthly exhibitions showcasing paintings, pottery, photography, and carved wood objects.
First of all, the pizza is great! It's order and they bring it to your table, but no table service - so if you want something, you go get it. The place is very appealing to look at, there's so much stuff you won't see it all in 100 visits. All beer is in bottles or cans. It's not the cheapest, but we enjoyed our meal.

Super cool local pizza place I. Macon GA. The inside decor is awesome, the people that work there are super nice and the pizza is a 10 out of 10!! We also had the breadsticks and a small salad ❤️

I wish I could give it 10 stars, this place was amazing! We will never forget this experience, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The food was amazing. The atmosphere is out of this world!

Really good pizza, but the wait times during their busier hours are pretty long for a single slice of pizza. Their beer choices are seasonal and delicious. The inside is a lot to look at, and keeps you entertained during a long wait time. Great place for small groups of friends or couples.

Nestled within a charming cottage that dates back to 1934, The Back Burner Restaurant is a delightful gem in Macon, GA. Since its establishment in 1997, this cozy eatery has become renowned for its innovative Continental cuisine, featuring an array of steaks, chops, and seafood that tantalize the taste buds.
After a long, exhausting day at work, I was seriously craving seafood. I randomly came across this spot and decided to grab their seafood trio to-go since I was too tired to dine in. Usually, takeout from other places feels like an afterthought, but The Back Burner did not disappoint. Everything was on point—flavor, presentation, all of it. Perfect way to end the day! 🤤😋

Only small issue i had was right after Zudan, the server, took our drink order; he stood within view speaking w Mgr(?) for near 5 mins before he went to pour our drinks to bring to us. And also he didn't ask about an appetizer at the same time, but we ordered that and salad when he came back with the drinks. It's good we had water to sip on until he brought the drinks we ordered. Make reservation! And we arrived at 5pm before the larger crowd started coming in. Great food, people, and atmosphere. Not for everyday dining: 2 ppl, total cost $100.xx, 2 sodas, 1 bar drink, 1 app, 1 salad, 2 entrees. It was delicious! Lobster Ravioli and Spanish Paella and we brought some home to eat tomorrow! Great place for date night or special occasions.

We had such an amazing experience from start to finish! Melanie was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and all her recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. It's worth every penny if you haven't been to this restaurant you should go!

Justin was an excellent host/waiter. He knows his stuff. I was a lil disappointed because i actually went for the lobster dinner but that is only on Thursday. We had crab cakes, which wasn't that good. A bit too fishy for me. They also lacked seasoning. The lobster ravioli was good. Chris had the lamb chop dinner which was okay. Overall it was a nice spot for date night. I'll be returning to try the lobster dinner.

You need a reservation but we arrived almost an hour early and we were sat immediately on a Saturday. We sat in a private corner and enjoyed this place so much we will be back. It's a little pricy but the food is excellent! We decided to get a special for an appetizer and the prime rib for dinner as it's their special on Friday and Saturday night.

What an incredible discovery! My wife and I had hoped to dine at Natalia's, but they were crowded. Instead, I looked for another mom-and-pop style restaurant in Macon, and to my surprise, we found this gem. I'm so glad we didn't go to Natalia's. This restaurant is phenomenal, from the service to the food, and the bartender, Brandy, was excellent! I was a bit surprised to see some patrons wearing ball caps and shorts, but that's okay. We will definitely be back!

We were traveling through Macon and found this quaint little restaurant on line. it was located on a back street. The server was nice & polite. We both ordered the NY strip steaks. These steaks had to be one the toughest gristled meats that I’ve ever eaten. I told the server. She said she would tell the Chef. There were no offers to discount the check or visit from the Manager, or even an offer to comp the desserts. I Honestly don’t know restaurants like this stay in business.
