The 10 best cake shops and cake bakeries in Macon

I’ve been eating here for a while. But this morning why would you all think it was acceptable to give me home fries that look like this? While working in food service, you have to serve food that you would accept yourself! Highly disappointed with this!

My sweet of choice has always been cinnamon rolls. It's hard to find a good one without too much frosting or not cooked completely or too hard, the list goes on and on. The cinnamon roll my husband brought me is chef's kiss perfect! Best cinnamon roll I've had in YEARS!!! Thankfully we don't live too close, otherwise this could be very dangerous for me!

This is a cute little donut shop. They are very patriotic and true to their faith with a lot of their decorations. Customer service was very good and friendly. The variety of donuts was interesting and unique. The one thing that I found as pure genius was their make your own donut. They have a specially made donut that you choose what filling you want in it and what frosting you want on it and they make right then to order. We got half white cream and half strawberry filling and frosted with buttercream frosting. It was absolutely amazing. The cream was very smooth and tasty the strawberry filling had real pieces of strawberry in it. The buttercream frosting was delicious. Give this a try you won't be disappointed. When we pass through here again we will stop in for more goodies.

Great selection of donuts, pastries, and casseroles. Their chunky chicken salad is delicious. They have a breakfast and lunch menu, and have specials every day. We also had a custom cookie cake made here and everyone raved about it.

Burger Week first visit here. Hands down best Burger- Yummy- just shows you don't have to be downtown to throw down- good service and friendly atmosphere. The Burger was sweet and savory cooked to perfection I wish Burger Week was all year 😀

This place was amazing! Driving through and found this gem. The donuts were incredible and the service was great. The owner was very welcoming and kind. Every time I go out of town and pass, I’ll stop by. I HIGHLY recommend! I’m glad they don’t have one where I live because I would go every day LOL.

Love this place. Some of the best breakfast in Macon. All of the donut choices are amazing...especially those apple fritters. It tastes like fall. Not to mention, prices are cheap and you support local business

Amanda was so great to work with! We had a great experience with the tasting, and she worked with pictures I found for inspiration for our cakes. She did both the Groom's Cake (Red velvet) and the Wedding Cake (4 different flavors!), as well as some gluten free cupcakes. The cakes looked fantastic! They looked just like our pictures; we were thrilled! The cakes were moist and yummy, and we had a lot of compliments from them. She was willing to work with us to make sure we had plenty of cake for our guests, and her prices are reasonable. Would highly recommend her!

Seriously the best cake and cupcakes of my life! If she doesn't sell out I love the cake trimmings that I can save in freezer and work on for weeks. Owner loves her customers and seriously talented at making the most delicious goodies. Her primary business is custom wedding cakes, cake decorating classes, and cakes, but her Facebook page lists the times when her storefront is open to the public for the infamous cupcake day monthly.

Amanda's Cakery is an amazing place! Not only does she take a large amount of her time making beautiful and amazing cakes, she also is an AWESOME business owner! Usually people have a lot of help when starting a business, but Amanda does it all on her own!!! Would highly recommend for any occasion! Love love love Amanda and her Cakery!

I emailed Amanda about ordering a cake for my mother's 60th birthday and had a response from her in less than 24 hours. She listened to my ideas and let me email several pictures of what I had in mind. She also created a beautiful cake based off the budget I was working with. I ordered a two tier cake with red velvet and key lime and the flavors were absolutely delicious!!! Thank you!!

I have had Amanda's Cakery make cakes and cupcakes for me on many occasions; a wedding party, gender reveal and several birthday cakes. She does beautiful work! I always feel like I'm ruining a work of art whenever I take the first cut into the cakes! Not only are the cakes beautiful, but also so delicious! Amanda's delivered cupcakes to our daughter at Mercer University for her birthday; we live in Texas and so needed a little help! The cupcakes were delicious according to our daughter, very reasonably priced and they delivered them at the promised time to fit her schedule. I will definitely order from this bakery in the future!!

Amanda has done my wedding cake as well as my grooms cake. They were beautiful as well as delicious. I also go by whenever I have a chance to grab her chocolate and raspberry cupcakes. She’s always friendly and listens to what my vision was for our cakes.

We got a variety dozen of cookies as a surprise for our four boys and we loved them! Strawberry, lemon, key lime, double chocolate, and m&m were a hit. The boys want to go back and pick out their own next time and try some cupcakes. The customer service was great too, we had a good explanation of all the options.

The butter cookie others rave about is worth the rave! The chocolate chip cookie not so much, very generic, but the butter cookie is something different and yummy!!

OMG. This place is fantastic. Cupcakes are so moist and delicious. The owner bakes everything and makes some fabulous combinations. The lemon cupcakes with blackberry frosting are to die for. Don't miss the key lime cupcakes! The cookies are so yummy. I love the butterfinger cookies. The chocolate chip cookies are so soft and delicious. Get there early to get the lemon cookies with white chocolate chips. The strawberry cookies were new to me and are now a new favorite. You MUST get the chocolate chip cookies that have an Oreo in the middle. The classic yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting is simple but delicious. The Oreo cupcakes are cute and yummy. I frequently get a box of assorted cookies or cupcakes and take it as a hostess gift. They will tie a bow on the box, and you are ready to go. My hubby loves the cupcakes, so for our 12th anniversary, he got 12 cupcakes. I added a little heart inside the box, and he loved it.

Wanted cake for my bday, but could't get anyone on the phone to see if they were even open. HOWEVER, Madame Julie (hope I got your name right) more than delivered. She not only called me back, but was soo kind & patient to wait until I navigated traffic to get there & then decide what I wanted. Not cake, BUT an even better alternative. Thx for making my bday. Stopped by this place after coming across while searching for ice cream. This place was ok. Service was good. Ice cream tasted frozen. The cookie was actually the best. I also liked that the waffle cone was warm. My daughter enjoyed the milkshake. They do have a seating area which is nice if you want to enjoy your dessert there.

Just tried the ice cream and cookies for the first time, this place did NOT disappoint!!! AMAZING!!!! Plus the very friendly Quinn (who was alone and never missed a beat!!!) made the whole first visit even better!!! It's so hard to walk into a place like this and not want EVERYTHING. We ended up getting a variety of cookies and a couple of milkshakes. So, when we ordered our milkshakes the girls were low on milk. Instead of telling us the machine was being repaired, like you know most people in that situation would have done, Myha made a quick trip to the store to get more milk! Thank you Jessica and Myha for being awesome. Though the cookies and milkshakes were awesome, your friendly service made it even better.

The only thing more amazing than the treats is the customer service at the Tom Hill location! Shoutout to Quinn!! She was very professional and personable, and made the atmosphere very welcoming! Will be returning because of today’s experience. Thank you Quinn!! =)

We frequent those store alot and usually love it. Tonight we went in to get ice-cream sandwiches and the girls acted like they were ready to go and barely gave us a spoon full of ice-cream and the cookie was falling all apart.

I messaged them about making a coconut cream pie for my husband‘s birthday. They were incredibly responsive and said they absolutely could! The pie was incredible! Definitely the best coconut cream pie I have ever had. They were very sweet and gave me a little happy birthday topper! They will be my go to bakery from now on. Heads up, they can be a little difficult to find.. they are in the same white strip mall complex as Suttles Flooring.

Layers is an absolute gem! We stopped in for a little treat and left with big smiles (and full hands). We tried the brown sugar chocolate chip cookies, white velvet cake, and peaches and cream cake — all were AMAZING. The cookies were perfectly chewy with that rich brown sugar flavor, and both cakes were moist, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The owners were so kind and welcoming, it felt like visiting friends. You can tell they truly care about their customers and their craft. We’ll definitely be back for more!

I came in to pick up a delivery today at the end of my shift and the gentleman and ladies behind the counter were more than welcoming. I didn’t even know they existed until today but I’m glad I do now! I was asked to try an oatmeal/apple cookie and being the kind of person I am I openly admitted to my dislike for apples but I made sure to give it a fair try and… I LOVED IT!! I’d also like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kindness you shared with me and for the most delicious chocolate cake I’ve ever had!

I contacted the business on June 5th, and asked if they made New York style Cheesecake. Layers sent a pic of what they were representing as the Cheesecake I was acquiring about. The Cheesecake in the picture they sent me looked incredibly delicious and I was interested in buying a whole Cheesecake which I was quoted 75 dollars plus tax. So I paid for the Cheesecake over the phone and was given June 7th a Saturday for pickup at 3pm at their location. When I arrived I was greeted nicely and the woman went to the Freezer to grab my order she showed me the Cheesecake which at the time seemed to be frozen because the strawberries were not in the thin liquid form from the attached pic I was sent describing the Cheesecake I was ordering. So I assumed the Cheesecake needed to thaw. I left the store and went home. Once I arrived home and set the Cheesecake out to assume it needed to be thawed out is then when I was cutting into the Cheesecake thats when I noticed the Cheesecake wasn't frozen but the strawberry topping was made in a hard Jell-O filled sauce and not the homemade thin sauce in the picture representing what I was paying for at all and definitely not what I was sent in the picture for what I was buying. Long story the Cheesecake was horrible had a nasty taste from the Jell-O filled sauce and just 80 dollars wasted down the drain I threw the Cheesecake away. I will attach pics showing the slice up piece of Cheesecake and how the sauce was dripping over the Cheesecake and you can see what pic I was sent verse what I actually received. Very disappointing after all the great reviews and awards this company has received. I highly don't recommend due to my experience due to the Owners not even understanding the situation of the misrepresentation from the pic they sent me and they just brushed me by saying thanks for giving me a try no kind of explanation for the difference and no trying to rectify the situation especially in my opinion of knowing they deceived me with the pic I was sent compared to what I received. Pics attach you tell me the difference. And for anyone who's looking for a delicious Cheesecake try Kreme Cheesecake in my opinion is and located over by presidential pkwy in Macon as well half the price of what I paid here and extremely delicious 😋 all statements are based off my experience and opinion.

I walked into a verrrrry friendly welcoming place like you were welcomed into their home. I bought lemon blueberry cake, peaches and cream cake, and blueberry white chocolate cookies. The owners are so nice. Go support them. Everything is freshly baked with love and is fabulous!

Stopped in to try their entrees into Macon Baking Week. They were good, and I will be back to try more. Very nice young lady who helped with my selections. Pricing was good as well.

My friend & I made a quick stop before we left downtown to get something sweet. The cupcakes are very light and moist and the icing ratio is perfect! They also weren’t overwhelmingly sweet like other places. Thank you for this wonderful first impression!

We ordered a cupcake tower and cake from Felicia pretty last minute for our wedding and she did such an amazing job. She paid close attention to our color scheme and decor, making sure her frosting would match my bridal party. Felicia was easy to work with, responsive and, most importantly, a talented baker. The cupcakes were not just beautiful but delicious.

My fiancé and I were walking downtown Macon and wanted to eat something sweet. We search for one and landed on this shop. The red velvet cupcake was soft and moist with very great sweet tasting icing (not too sweet though, it was perfect.) The Strawberry cheesecake was also amazing!

I tried their Macon Burger Week cupcake burger & fries. The cupcake was so moist it was out of this world good!! And the sugar cookies were the best I've ever had! Friendly staff and cute building/decor.

When I walked into Oh Honey it felt like I walked into a ✨dream✨ When I tell you this is the exact vibe I want for my dream house one day & I’m going to design it just like this place… I’m not joking! The vibes are immaculate, it’s the right amount of cozy, and the coffee is delicious. I got their Honey Bee latte, which is honey & brown sugar with oat milk, and it was just the right amount of sweet. The espresso is not overwhelming & brewed to perfection. The King Cake Macaroons are splendid with just the right amount of crunch & the yummiest cream cheese filling. I could live here. I could make this my personality. And I can’t wait to come back!

I went for the first time today. If you stop by for breakfast, their burritos are great. It's a nice size and very filling. The donuts were amazing. They are full of flavors, and you can tell they are made and decorated with care. Skip the Kirspy Kreme guys. Go here. This is what you want. The atmosphere was like walking into a bakery from a TV show. It felt cozy and magical. There's a little area showcasing some fun mugs and soap, and there is an Instagram counter on a fridge that updates live. The music was a fun mix of older music and a few things that made me think they'd somehow gotten into my Spotify playlists. The folks there are nice and patient and give you time to look at things and answer any questions you have. Buy the stickers! I got one for me and another for a friend. I plan on getting another next time I go to give a few friends of mine. I learned they'd been open a year and were celebrating. Everything about this place made me want to come back again. I plan on going whenever I can now!

Came through here looking for a little snack on the way to Savannah. Very cute little shop on the outside and the inside. Parking is definitely a challenge -- it's all in a row where you can pull into a spot, but the only way out is to pull out of said spot onto a fairly busy street. Keep an eye out! That being said, it wasn't too hard finding a spot on a Friday afternoon. The inside of the bakery/cafe was bright and adorable and several people were working on their laptops, along with a mom with a few kids playing by the window. Feels very welcoming inside. For being labeled a bakery, I didn't think the selection was too huge, but part of that may be on me for coming pretty late in the afternoon; they might have run out of several products. They have coffee here too. After peeking in the display case, I decided on a cream cheese brownie. They do have beautiful macarons, which was tempting. But the brownie was calling to me. The girl working at the counter was very nice and sweet, and I didn't have to wait long for my treat. I took it out to the car and munched on it while I was driving. I thought it was just okay. It was served chilled, which I wasn't really expecting, but maybe that's wise given the cream cheese. Idk. But unfortunately, the chilling had the effect of making the brownie kind of dense and overly chewy. It had a nice flavor though. If I pass through again and stop back in, I'd probably try something else, but it wasn't bad. Kudos to the very cute and welcoming shop and the sweet employees!

Cute new place! I’d like to try it again when the crowds die down. I went at 1 pm on a Saturday and it was quite busy and there wasn’t a lot left in terms of baked goods. It’s got grand millennial vibes with townie crowds. The interior is cute and there is some good seating. It’s a little $$$. $14 for three donuts and an iced coffee. But business is booming, folks! I would like to note that the cashier was wearing a very mini plaid skirt, and when she turned to answer the phone, her unmentionables were exposed to my entire family. That bit was odd, for sure. Google maps currently has it on the opposite side of the road. It is actually right next to IVP.

Such a cute little bakery! Everything was delicious, the employees were friendly, and it was decorated for fall inside. 🥰 We liked the outdoor seating as well, especially being off to the side where there is plenty of room instead of out front!

atmosphere = great staff= great options for drinks and food = great you really can't go wrong here. we tried the breakfast burrito this time which was HUGE and well worth it. the only downside is that it can get pricey but the baked goods are worth it!

Adriana made our cake and macaroons for our wedding in Macon, GA back in October and did an absolutely amazing job! The cakes were not only delicious, but absolutely stunning and both were gone within minutes. We still have family and friends who comment on how delicious everything was, so I'm so excited to see that there is now a store front for all of Adriana's delicious treats. Cannot recommend Oh Honey's work enough!

Couldn’t say enough GOOD things about LisaMae Cakes. They went above and beyond for our wedding, always answered all questions/ concerns within great time. The taste and looks of our wedding cake and grooms cake…I mean pictures just don’t do them justice! They were absolutely amazing! 100/10 recommend LisaMae Cakes!

I commissioned a double chocolate cake with strawberry filling for a friends birthday, that needed to be gluten-free and dairy free, and they did a lovely job l! The cake was perfect, and everyone enjoyed it and couldn't tell that the cake was dairy and gluten-free. Will definitely be doing business again here. Thank you for everything! Last thing I put up a picture and I forgot to ask if she can write Happy Birthday to my friend, so we did it ourselves and it looks off, but I wanted to put that out there because she did a great job on the cake.

Tucked away in an industrial farms market area this bakery is top knotch. Everything seems to be sourced local from the apples to the pecans. Stop by to pick up freshly made croissant to cookie. Check them out on Thursday’s at the Napier Heights Food Coop. So glad I stopped by and adventured. Very kind and helpful employees.
