Children's farm
Nature & Parks
The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in Overland Park is a delightful family destination with a range of attractions. Visitors can explore nature trails, interact with farm animals, and admire butterfly gardens and birds of prey. The farmstead also features show gardens, a Kanza Native American display, and a one-room schoolhouse.
We absolutely loved our visit to Deanna Rose Farmstead! The entire place is beautifully maintained — the grounds are clean and inviting, and the animals are clearly very well cared for. It’s such a perfect summer outing for families, especially with young children. There are so many interactive experiences that make learning fun. Our kids had a blast feeding the adorable goats and exploring all the different animal areas. It’s also an amazing opportunity for them to learn about farm life in the early 1900s, with hands-on exhibits that bring history to life in such an engaging way. Every staff member we met was incredibly warm and welcoming — you could tell they genuinely enjoy being there. It’s rare to encounter such consistent friendliness, and it made the experience even more special. The gardens throughout the farmstead are absolutely beautiful, and the enchanted forest area felt like stepping into a storybook. There’s just so much to see and do — we could have spent all day there. Highly recommend for a fun, educational, and heartwarming family day out!

Deanna Rose Homestead was the most amazing evening! The pricing was very reasonable, and everything was so well cared for. The grass, the animal areas, and even the tractors scattered throughout made it feel authentic and fun. The 18th-century recreated village added so much personality and charm to the experience. Truly a wonderful place to visit and worth every bit of 5 stars.

I usually write long reviews, but I’m going to try to keep this one short and let the photos speak for me. This place is amazing. It is magical. I could easily spend the entirety of my day here, every day. There is so much to see and to do. There are flowers and plants everywhere. There are something like fifty baby goats, maybe more?! So cute! And there are a ton of other animals, including a bald eagle, bison, prairie dogs, and a bobcat. You can mine for gemstones, you can watch the blacksmith work, visit the general store, go fishing, bottle-feed baby goats, attend live cow milkings, go on a horse-drawn carriage ride, visit an old schoolhouse, go on a hike in the woods, visit the herb and vegetable garden, bring a picnic, and more. (Some of the attractions carry additional costs.) We went during their free admission hours (Mon-Th after 2pm as of this review). It was really busy, but everything is so spread out that it didn’t really feel congested. We loved it. We spent two hours there and didn’t want to leave, but we had to go. Definitely add this to your MUST VISIT list whether you live in the KC Metro area or are just passing through.

Much more than a petting farm. Honestly better than some zoos I've been to. 5 bucks per person for 12 acres of well taken care of gardens and animals of all sorts, as well as a recreation of barns and 1900s buildings. Fun for all ages, even if you just want a nice place to sit and relax. Come visit and teach/learn a bit about nature and history, you won't regret it!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. A cozy venue for family entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit for the fall season and all of the attractions the farmstead had to offer. So many activities for young children that were both educational and fun. We loved the little Downtown area with all the whimsical shops to explore, as well as the miniature log cabin by the playground. Perfect for meeting up with some friends and walking around for a few hours. Our toddler had a blast and the walking paths were easy to navigate with our stroller and newborn.

My grandsons (7 & 8) and I visited a couple of weeks ago. They enjoyed looking at the animals and birds and LOVED the mining and fishing. They also said eating ice cream, drinking Bublee and talking while sitting on the benches outside of the ice cream parlor was a favorite part of their visit. The grounds are well kept and the farm is a great size for spending a couple of hours in.

This was my first time at Deanna Rose Farm! I have always heard about it since I was a kid and wanted to go here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They had many things to do it may not look like it at first, but you have to walk around more to see. The baby goats were friendly and easy to handle. The school house and other 1800’s structures reminded me of “Little House on the Prarie”and made me feel like I was back in time. Each staff member was very knowledgeable of everything. They had fishing, feeding baby goats, playgrounds, various animals. We got super lucky upon arriving and didn’t even have to pay to get in. Feeding baby goats cost $1 with bottles. Fishing cost $3.00. Bring coins if you want to feed any goat.

Great place to take the kid's for some local fun. It's Definitely geared more towards the smaller kiddos but still fun! Cheap price for admission too!

Arboretum
Nature & Parks
Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is a 300-acre haven for nature enthusiasts, offering 13 gardens with over 1,700 plant species and diverse wildlife. The site also serves as an educational and cultural hub in Kansas City, featuring recreational areas and hosting environmental programs and events. Visitors can explore the network of nature trails that wind through rocky bluffs, bottomland paths, and expansive prairies filled with native grasses and wildflowers.
What a gorgeous place to visit. They have lots of different types of flowers and greenery. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our two favorite things of the Arboretum were: 1) The train gardens. What an absolute magnificent display of model trains with unique design of tracks near the ground level and also above your head. Keep your eyes peeled because there are two train displays. If you find the one train ticket booth turn around 180° and you’ll find the other one. 2) The views on a sunny day. The stone display leading up to the visitor center with the water flowing, and the sun lining off. It is a site to behold. Also a walk around the lake when the sun is out will instantly relax you And here’s a cheat code for people that like visiting arboretums… This one is part of the Arboretum reciprocal program. This means if you’ve bought a membership to another Arboretum inside the reciprocal program, you automatically get admission to Overland Park Arboretum as well.

Absolutely gorgeous walk through Garden areas. Plants and bushes and flowers all over they were absolutely stunning. You'll never want for a bench to sit down on is there's many throughout the entire Park area probably not more than 50 ft away from each other. The staff always seems busy pruning, shearing, and taken care of these beautiful plants and flowers. Peaceful and Serene and a wonderful place to go whether you have something else to do or not you owe it to yourself to stop by and see this.
PlainOlBill — Google review
Wasn't to bad. Nice place overall. I feel like they ought to charge more for entry and be more aggressive with expansion or growing exhibits. Sems like there is a lot of wasted space. Lots of "dead ends" that look like they lead to something but didn't follow through. I won't mention other places by name we've been to, but they have filled a lot of their spaces with beautiful arrangements and a bit more purposeful exhibits. I'm NOT a flowery type guy but my wife is and she kept mentioning the same thing. We'll be back but would love to see "more" growth!!
Terry M — Google review
My wife are in town visiting KC from SC. We absolutely loved the Overland Park Arboretum today. I am a model train fan so it was really fun to see the Train Garden. The other gardens and trails were nice too. The staff was very friendly. The park was very clean and well maintained. Paths were very wide and easy to walk. I would highly recommend visiting the park.
George L — Google review
I’ve been here many times with visitors from out of the area and also just on my own with family or friends. It does not disappoint. It seems there’s always something going on at Christmas time. The lights. In the summertime, lots of scheduled outdoor activities and movies and things for families. The new building just adds to the offering. All that and the flora and fauna!!!
Lori A — Google review
It was hot and sunny for the middle of October however it worked out perfectly to visit the arboretum! I love flowers and butterflies, so I was completely enamored of the gardens. The monarch butterflies put on a spectacular show. There had to be hundreds throughout the whole garden acreage. My third favorite area was the water garden. I found a perfect spot that was in the shade and facing a monarch hotspot. The sound of the water feature and view was so perfect and peaceful. Last but not least! 4th favorite the train garden! Being over 50 it took me back in time quite a few years. Felt like a kid again. And the caboose that you can go in and exit out the back? The perfect touch. The volunteers and gardeners were absolute gems. Sharing ideas of where to walk and circling them on the map was above and beyond helpful at the information desk. A couple I observed admiring the Monet Garden who asked a gardener gal that was happy to share information with them on what a plant was. The sculpture garden and fairy houses were thought provoking and beyond cute. I am sure I didn't see everything with being mesmerized by the monarchs putting on a show along with cardinals birds chasing each other. I will be back!!

Terra Luna 2025 was such an amazing event! If you haven't had a chance to attend this event, I highly recommend it. This was the first year I attended. And it was so much more than I had imagined. The lazer lights were fantastic! And the performers and staff were outstanding. I will definitely be going back next year.
Paul S — Google review
A wonderful place to visit during all 4 seasons of the year. Even when flowers are not in bloom, trails await those who love to walk among the trees, view birds at their feeders and walk on trails off of the beaten path. You almost forget that you are on the edges of a metropolitan area yet 10 minutes away from shopping and restaurants. I go here to retreat from adulting.

Shopping mall
Bowling alley
Prairiefire in Overland Park is a unique entertainment venue that offers a diverse range of experiences. From a shopping mall to museum exhibits and a self-guided wetlands trail, there's something for everyone. The area is adorned with stunning art pieces like the 18-foot Pierced Sky sculpture and the Hybrid Circle stainless steel sculpture at City Palace.
Lots of places to shop, eat, and play. The most eye-catching sight is the museum, which is very reasonably priced for entry. I would love to return when it's warm to view the wetlands, but single digit temperatures and high winds didn't allow for that this trip. There are also ample places to park.

Visually stunning building that has some fun exhibits. This museum is more geared towards children currently, so I would recommend it more for families than older patrons. However, they are working to build a baseball exhibit that will be good for adult patrons in the future. It is worth stopping by just to see the beautiful architecture and native plant preserve.

Very nice Experience. Great place to bring the kiddos. I wish there was a little more to do but overall it was a very nice visit. Love the VR headset experience. I wish I could’ve seen the elephant one but we will definitely be back. I’m looking forward to the walk on the trail in the spring or even summer.

The market has expanded beyond its usual pavilion, providing shoppers with an even larger selection of goods. It serves as a vibrant gathering place for people of all ages and interests, offering farm-to-table food products, fresh produce, local foods, and unique specialty items.
One of the best, true farmers markets in the Kansas City area. So much offered here including fresh mushrooms, freeze dried herbs/soups, quite a few local meat farmers, all natural dog treats offered from farmers and so much more. Highly recommend this twice weekly market.

The OP farmer's market is a fine place to shop for fresh produce, meats, treats, and other treasures. Food carts, flowers, lots of fun. A perfect way to start the weekend.

It’s a nice place to buy fresh farm grown veggies/fruits/flowers and meat. The market is not so big but you find most of it . I got some brown eggs and they were good . You even get good grounded powders like turmeric powder, paprika powder etc . There were many food trucks, I got coffee and cookies it was great for the price . There was honey vendor who sells honey sticks and my kid liked it. Fresh flowers around made the place look beautiful. One thing to watch is pick veggies yourself , the spring onions I got were hard and tasteless. Pets not allowed inside the market.

This was my first foray to this museum and I was very impressed! Was lucky to see A Match Made in Heaven: Bernhardt x Scott. Wow. Amazing! The designs are incredible. I’ll be back to show my husband!

Wow!!!! Who knew that a free exhibit could be this amazing?? If you’re into fashion, I think you’re gonna love this!! So many details to look at! Make sure you do not touch anything or you will be warned! Two levels of artistic expression through fashion & art. Both the designer & the artist are from Missouri - St. Louis & Kansas City. Loved how the art & fashion went together. Often in a quirky, unexpected way! This event is for a few more months. Be sure to check it out before it disappears!!

The fashion and art exhibit I saw was impressive! Fashion designer Jeremy Scott is of Kanas City and artist Katherine Bernhardt is of St. Louis. Dresses worn by celebrities at the MET Galla. There is plenty of space so you're not bumping into ppl. The info desk ppl are very friendly and shared interesting tid bits. I'll definitely be back.

We absolutely loved this museum. The exhibit with the fashion and art pairings was both thought provoking and entertaining. My absolute favorite thing at the museum was the “Salon for Possible Futures.” I could have spent all day there and was inspired and engaged with all of the details and also the way I felt as soon as I stepped in the space. It was immersive and cozy. Something about the room made my stress melt away and made me happy. I wish I had this room in my own house… something to aspire to. It is a brilliant use of space!

The curator knocked it out of the park with A Match Made In Heaven. The collaboration between the 2 artists was so thoughtful, inspired, and full of little surprises. Always love the exhibits but this one was a joyous adventure.

Went to see KB and JS a match made in heaven, and I have to admit it was absolutely stunning. They actually matched, and I had a lovely time walking through art and admiring their masterpieces, if you haven’t gone to see the collection, you should absolutely check it out.

They have concerts on the back porch in the summer. High quality performances and a variety of music styles. We love meeting friends there and having a picnic before the performance. This also gives us good parking and seating choices. The sun drops behind the building quickly so it's very comfortable for an outdoor venue. Have fun!

Steak house
J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood Kansas City is a renowned fine-dining establishment named after the esteemed Kansas City restaurateur Joe Gilbert. It offers classic steakhouse fare, including USDA Prime Black Angus beef cooked over an open wood-fire grill. The restaurant prides itself on serving hearty, authentic Midwestern dishes that can be enjoyed in a casual bar setting or at a formal dining table.
We randomly stopped in on a Saturday night for dinner. We were able to find 2 comfortable seats at the bar with no wait. Started with a half dozen oysters which were great. We also shared the crab bisque which was amazing. For the main course, we shared the mixed grill and they split it in the back for us. Great food, service, and a beautiful restaurant.
Trisha H — Google review
We went to J. Gilbert’s for a special occasion - my mom’s birthday. The food was, as always, excellent, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. It’s one of those places that feels perfect for a celebration. That said, the service experience was disappointing tonight. We waited over an hour and ten minutes for our entrees, which really took away from the evening. Working in the restaurant industry myself, I understand that average ticket times are around 20 minutes, so this felt excessive - especially for a special occasion. What made it more frustrating was the lack of communication. Our server wasn’t checking in, the table wasn’t being cleared, and no one offered additional bread or updates about our food. I even had to ask about our appetizer to make sure it was coming. Overall, the food and atmosphere were great as usual, but the pacing and attentiveness of service really missed the mark tonight. I’d love to see the kitchen and service team tighten up timing and communication - it would make the experience worthy of the quality the restaurant is known for. Unfortunately, I am writing this review because this isn’t the first time this happened, but the second time IN A ROW. Even worse, the previous time we were here, we also went for a special occasion.
Amelia R — Google review
Our experience at J. Gilbert’s was nothing short of exceptional. Zahra, Dakota, and the entire team demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and care, ensuring that every detail of the evening was attended to. From the refined service to the thoughtfully curated wine selection and exquisitely prepared cuisine, J. Gilbert’s exemplifies fine dining at its best. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an elevated and memorable dining experience.

Highly recommend this top level restaurant with an amazing menu! Must try: the crab cakes and smoked old fashion (with Angel's Envy)! Excellent cuts of beef, seafood tower, and creative desserts. The fixed 3 course email is wonderful - providing many choice options. However, you may still wish to peek at full dessert menu to at least observe everything that is possible! 24 layer chocolate cake AND Chocolate peanit butter pie AND Blondie Apple pie? The creme brulee is great too. Yes to all of the above bring a large enough party, share and try them all! Saint John, our waiter, was as memorable as the fine meal itself! Want an opinion on the menu? Or even a little spontaneous Opera? Saint John has all the excellent advice and high entrainment value for your party!

Alex was amazing! He made our 12 yr anniversary dinner special :) he was very communicative and gave great recommendations. All of good came out beautiful and was so delicious.

I ABSOLUTELY love LOVE love this Restaurant!!! We went to celebrate my Mother's Birthday and our waiter made it really memorable!!!! Our waiter's name was Saint John, and not only was he the best waiter we ever had, but he was nice, always had a smile even if the place was PACKED, and sang Happy Birthday in this deep beautiful baritone voice that brought tears to my Mother's eyes!! The food was impeccable, but we'll be back mostly for the way we were treated. Thank you Saint John for making my Mother's Birthday celebration a night to remember :)
Melissa C — Google review
I was invited with a party of 16, excited for a special evening, but unfortunately the experience fell far short of my expectations. On the positive side, our waiter was truly fabulous—welcoming, kind, informative, and attentive. Service was the highlight of the night. The starter salad was also very good, fresh, a twist on vegetables with a creamy vinaigrette, and flavorful, and honestly ended up being the best part of the meal. The entrées, however, were extremely disappointing for the price point. My plate was $80 and consisted of a mound of seasoned perfect mashed potatoes, four small asparagus spears, and crab cakes that tasted and looked as if they came straight out of a frozen box from Costco. Now I could be a tough critic because I have had some spectacular crab cakes. Drinks were very pricey, which added up quickly. To top it off, the crème brûlée—a dessert that should be served warm with a freshly torched sugar top—was served cold. Who serves cold crème brûlée? I didn’t eat it at that point!!! When all was said and done, I walked out having spent $125 for just myself, and the value simply wasn’t there. The food quality did not match the cost, especially for a fine-dining establishment. The server deserves praise, but unfortunately the kitchen and pricing left much to be desired. Let the photos speak for themselves. Also, a little jazz, classical, or instrumental music over the Muzak would have been nice, I mean we are paying enough for it, right??? I’m sure yall can afford it!!

Specializing in cookies, chocolates, desserts, and bistro sandwiches, this gem is well-known for its sweet offerings like lemon bars and cherry danishes. Found a place which helps with classic grilled cheese sandwich cravings. Grilled to perfection, cripsy on top, cheese completely melted through. Tomato soup was delicious.

We stopped in for breakfast over the weekend. There were plenty of seats inside and outside. We ordered at the counter and our meal was brought to the table. Coffee was self-service. My wife had a breakfast sandwich and I had a half order of B&G with an over easy egg. We ordered some pastries to go. I'm glad I didn't get a full order. The biscuit was much bigger in person than they appeared in photos. Overall we enjoyed our entrees. I would have enjoyed mine a bit more if the towering biscuit was split before the gravy was added. The gravy was pepper forward and thick with large chunks of sausage. In a rare moment for me, I felt like my entree could have used more seasoning. Overall we enjoyed the pastries. The pillow of frosting on the cinnamon roll was a unique touch.

The food is very good! My favorites are the broccoli and cheese soup and ceasar salad. The burger setup they have now outside is what pushed this from 4 stars to 5. So so good. The inside sitting area can feel a little crowded at times but there is outside seating too. I love their creative sugar cookies too.

Great little spot! We have been searching for our new local bakery since moving five years ago and found it here! Great fresh food including sandwiches, salads, desserts, and other baked goods. Staff is super friendly and helpful, even in a rush. Cute and cozy inside with seasonal decor.

Turkey club was great. The thin slices of white bread were perfectly lightly toasted, bacon perfectly crisp, and the oven roasted turkey juicy. I love how they individually seal-wrap their cookies. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good, but it was overloaded with chocolate chips, which made it too sweet for me. The apple pie cookie and oatmeal toffee were just the right amount of sweetness and were delicious. The cookies are thick, tender, and cakey on the cookie texture scale. I agree with a few reviews that the prices are on the high side, but I don't mind occasionally spending more at local businesses. I'll certainly be back to try other items.

Best Regards Bakery & Cafe is seriously good. My mom, who lives in Kansas City, recommended it, and I stopped by while visiting for the summer. The second you walk in, it smells amazing — warm cinnamon, fresh bread, all the right things. We had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and they were fantastic. The cinnamon rolls are a must and you can easily freeze them and reheat at home. We took home a key lime tart and more cinnamon rolls, and my mom swears their chocolate layer cake tastes just like her mom’s recipe. The best thing I had was the biscuits. Soft, buttery, and perfect. Prices were totally reasonable and I’d definitely go back. Big shout out to the staff here too, especially the guy behind the counter. He was super friendly and helpful, and just made the whole experience even better. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the customer bathroom is clean.

I had the pleasure of visiting Best Regards Bakery in Overland Park this morning, and it was an incredible experience. The breakfast burritos were absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked eggs, flavorful sausage, and just the right amount of spice. I also tried a few breakfast pastries, which were equally amazing. But it wasn't just the food that impressed me - the atmosphere was fantastic as well. Best Regards Bakery has a great vibe for a morning get-together with friends, or for knocking out some quick work emails. I highly recommend stopping by and checking it out for yourself!

I don't care how amazing the food is. If I come in and I'm treated badly I am not going to spend my money at that place. The rudeness was actually from the owner himself. When his partner, his wife was made privy to his rude and disrespectful behavior absolutely nothing was done. Not sure how they managed to stay open with such terrible customer service. ABC Cafe 釗記餐廳 is a cozy Chinese eatery that has been delighting diners with its authentic Cantonese cuisine for almost ten years.
Always amazing! I love the ABC chicken and egg drop soup! Place is pretty small but definitely worth the wait if there is a crowd. We always go on Christmas day, and yes, it's packed, but that's how you know it's good! Have also gone just during a regular weekday and usually not too much of a wait then. Staff is efficient and succinct. Don't forget to try their hot green tea!

Fantastic food!! Beer could still be a little colder. It was at 50 degrees and was lowered to 38 degrees…… Perfect! Although, I watched the temperature start to creep back up, was at 40.9 degrees when I left. Keep it cold!! Tastes better and you will sell more! Thank You for the great food every single time!! Your attention to all of your customs outstanding.

Delicious food, great service. Very kind and friendly staff, they were so sweet. Ordered walnut shrimp to go, was ready in less than 10 minutes and reasonably priced. First time trying this place and will be back next time I'm in KC. They don't take American Express and it's a small doorway, may not be suitable for wheelchair access. Otherwise, highly recommend.

The shumai and the Singapore noodles were delicious, and so did the salt and pepper squid. The food came out relatively fast, which is what I liked. However, the curry beef puff could use some more beef chunks in its filling, but it was still good. Overall, this restaurant serves the best dim sum in the Kansas City area, and it gets 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Barbecue restaurant
Jack Stack Barbecue in Overland Park is a bustling local chain that has gained popularity for its extensive barbecue menu featuring steak and seafood options. The restaurant offers a special $35 dinner for two, which includes a choice of family-style dinners such as Burnt End Combo, Pork Spare Ribs Slab, or Roundup, followed by delectable dessert options like carrot cake or chocolate brownie.
I had an incredible experience at Fiorella’s in Overland Park. From the moment I sat down, the service was top notch. Mia was my waitress and she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with the menu and happy with my order. She made the whole experience so enjoyable. I ordered the Kansas City combo with pork burnt ends and sliced brisket. Both were packed with flavor, and the burnt ends in particular were outstanding. The cheesy corn bake was rich, creamy, and the perfect side. To finish, I tried the carrot cake, and honestly, it is one of the best I have ever had. Fiorella’s really delivers on both food and service. I will definitely be back.

Jack Stack never disappoints and this location is one of my favorites. I had the pick-two with burnt ends and brisket — both were fantastic. The brisket is always a standout for me and easily puts Jack Stack in my top three barbecue spots in Kansas City. The portions were generous, everything came out hot, and the presentation was great. The atmosphere here is cozy and comfortable with darker wood, a nice layout, and just the right amount of buzz on a Tuesday night without being loud. It feels like the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a relaxed meal with friends. Our server was wonderful — friendly, funny, and attentive without overdoing it. Drinks were excellent, too. The sangria was refreshing, and the Family Fashioned (their take on an old fashioned) was outstanding. Overall, great food, great service, and a welcoming vibe. I always make a point to visit Jack Stack when I’m in Kansas City, it’s a classic for a reason.

We had a great time at Jack Stack BBQ! To start, the food was amazing. We started off with the Smoked Jalapeño Cornbread that came with honey butter. For entrees, we both got the Kansas City Combo Plate pick two. For my two meats I got smoked sausage and bone-in chicken. For the side, I substituted fries for the cheesy potato bake. All the BBQ sauces were delicious and we got amazing service from Grant! He was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend!

It's been several years since I've been to Jack Stack (I'm in Oklahoma), but it's just as delicious as I remember. Great vibe and super busy as usual. We had an amazing server, her name was Kyli. It was the first time for my dad & brother to dine here, so she took the time to explain the menu and had amazing recommendations. We started off with the onion rings and the mushrooms. My brother loved the mushrooms with the horseradish sauce, and dad loved the onion rings! I had the beef burnt ends, my favorite, with fries. They were melt in your mouth as always. Dad & my brother did the Cue for Two, the burnt end combo. They actually did double beef and sausage. With the coleslaw, beans & cheesy potato bake as their sides. Their favorite was the beans, which shocked me because my brother makes some of the best baked beans! Kylie really did an outstanding job, even though it was crazy for Father's Day weekend. We will definitely be back the next time we come to Kansas City!

Had their lunch menu of a baked potato with brisket, a side of fries and a blackberry lemonade. Very reasonably priced as well as foodstuff. We also had the onion ring stack which was also very yummy. Came in without a reservation around noon on a weekday and was sat almost immediately. Our server was great and everyone enjoyed our food. Can't wait to come back

Some of the best bbq we've tried in KC. Most of all, I was impressed by the service. They were welcoming and helpful. Our ribs were pretty dry, but the problem was addressed immediately, and a replacement (much better!) was brought out.

Loved the atmosphere but disappointed with the food. Had the spinach and salmon salad. Wasn't asked hiw I wanted my salmon and when it came it was still very rare one bite into it. Finally was able to flag down our server and she offered to take it back and put on the grill longer...when it was brought back it looked pretty much like it was when I sent it back! I was not charged for the salmon just the salad but still disappointed as my party was all done eating so I had to eat again once home...

BBQ is amazing. I got Beef brisket, Crown prime beef rib, baked beans, cheesy potato bake, and carrot cake cupcake with pecans. The Crown prime beef rib was out of this world good cooked perfectly, juicy, perfect bark melts it your mouth. The baked beans are the best I've ever had. The cheesy potatoes are delicious. I will be back for more the next time in town!

I had an amazing breakfast with my father and brother on March 15th at 10 AM. It was my first time visiting this location, and despite how busy it was, the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. Our server—whose name I unfortunately forgot—was tall with brown-blonde hair and provided excellent service. Although the kitchen made a small mistake, she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, always with a friendly smile. Thank you First Watch Team! for making our breakfast experience a great one!

Though you can get in with reservation, it took more than the allotted time to get us in for our brunch . The atmosphere was great and the service too . The food came in on time and we were served by a nice Server Lady “Tania” who did a great job asking multiple times if the food was right and if we need something more. She made our eating experience there so great though it was a busy Saturday morning and it was crowded. Even after a little complaint, she fixed it right away. It was all about making customers happy. Overall, a great place to meet family and friends for breakfast and brunch but not a quiet place definitely.

I had a very bad experience here 6/14 @10am. I placed a Togo order when I arrived at the restaurant to receive my order i waited at the pick up area for 5 minutes. Saw several employees , but i was never greeted. Once someone did get my order her hands were full from trying to serve her table. The person she had pulled aside to ring out my order treated me very weird and very unfriendly. I didn’t think to check my order until I got home. I ordered the trifecta with French toast. My French toast is eggy on both sides. I ordered this for work so I had no time to go back. This is very unfortunate because first watch is one of my favorite breakfast spots. Due to how uncomfortable the employees made me and how poorly my food was made I don’t know if I will be coming back to this location.

Celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday with a family breakfast. The staff went over and beyond, considering we did not call ahead with any information. Balloon, card, candle, muffin, and a birthday song. All smiles and great energy. Thank you for such a wonderful breakfast experience for my little girl and the family.

First watch is always been favorite place to have great breakfast. With friends and family. This location is very neat and cool. Old style feel of the place. It was quite packed. We reserve our table online. I think it’s the best if one doesn’t want to wait longer. Since it was cold and rainy. Waffles were fluffy and great with syrup and some jam.

The food is fresh, the quality is always the same, great! A highly recommend for a sorta healthy breakfast option if you are ever in the area!

Service was extremely slow. Never offered a coffee refill despite spending $4 per person on coffee and the pot had only about half a cup for two people. Omelet was lukewarm warm at best. Sometimes the food here is great, but today was a big BIG miss, nearly $60 for two adults and a kid. Will not be back.

We eat at this location very often. Our last visit was awful. Our server said maybe 5 words to us. He was wearing dirty stretched out clothes. He moped over to us and said "coffee?" We said yes, he had the pot with him. He must have just grabbed it of another table because the pot was almost empty and luke warm. He then said "are you ready?" We ordered the seasonal cornbread for an appetizer and asked for water. He said "Okay" and walked off. He then came back a couple minutes later and asked if we were ready, we ordered and asked for water again. That's the last we saw of him. The cornbread came out cold, the butter wouldn't even spread on it. Then our food came out, it was pretty good but not as good as normal. My bread on the avocado toast was really tough, I could barely cut it and my wife's toast wasn't buttered. The server didn't bring out any of the food. Mostly we saw him just standing behind the register and up by the host stand. We flagged him down for the ticket and just paid online. I'm leaving this review because I was unable to get a manager's attention and I'm not looking for anything free. As a server for many years, I hope this review is used to fix these issues. I want to continue to enjoy this restaurant in the future. It's just been slipping lately. We've actually gone to Big Biscuit a few time instead of going here, due to the consistency in food and service not necessarily better food.
