Bar & grill
Sports bar
The Peanut, located at 5000 Main St. in South Plaza, is a popular sports bar and grill known for its classic American pub food and drinks. It's considered one of the top choices in the area, offering budget-friendly options like chicken wings, sandwiches, and more. The bar has been around since 1933 when it opened as a speakeasy and is renowned for serving up giant buffalo wings that require a minimum 20-minute cook time but are absolutely worth it.
We went on a Friday night. It was packed but they still seated us in 5 minutes. TV's everywhere to watch the big game. It's very loud so plan on yelling. I got the Roadhouse. Burger with onion straws cheese and Barbq sauce. It was on Texas Toast. Delicious and very filling. The fries were decent nothing special. My daughter had the bird bomb chicken sandwich. Not sure what all was on it but it looked amazing. My wife loved her Chicken Cesar wrap. Service was phenomenal. Can't wait to return.

Just moved to KC & I've heard so many raves about the wings here, so I decided to try them tonight. Do I think it's overpriced yes? Was it good? It was decent. The only good part was the wings & the buffalo sauce honestly. I paid $22.96 for 3 wings & fries & a side salad. The 3 wings & fries is $13 I think & the side salad was $6.50. The side salad is way too small & not that great of quality to be $6.50. No garden salad that size should be over $3 even. The wings were big & honestly, this the only place that sells the entire piece. The ranch was alright & the chipotle ranch wasn't too bad. I did not like the tiger sauce. The packaging for the 3 wings & fries was great to try & keep the fries from getting drenched in the wing sauce, so major props for that. Definitely appreciate that the wings come with ranch (or bleu cheese) & celery since most places charge extra. The confusing part was that when I ordered online, it gave me the option for pickup inside or curbside pickup. I chose curbside & on the screen, it told me to call once I arrived & someone would be out. I called & whoever answered the phone was a little rude & cut me off when I said I was there for curbside, letting me know they don't do curbside. Whether they do or don't is still not known to me, but the rude service continued even when I went inside. Even though this was my first time eating at the peanut, I had called the one in Mission earlier this week asking about employment & dealt with a rude girl on the phone. There's multiple reviews for every single location that there's rude staff, including this one. Definitely didn't dislike it, but I really just think it's overpriced for what it is.

I was very disappointed in my experience at the peanut today. I got the grilled chicken sandwich, and I added avocado. The chicken had no flavor. I put salt and pepper, and it still was bland which was a disappointment ad it was listed as grilled. Maybe it was the thinness of the meat on the sandwich, but still was not very appetizing. It's sad when the fries are the best part of a $15 dollar selection. My boyfriend had the Chief. The hot dog was so over done it had the consistency of rubber. The beautifully cooked egg on top was the highlight, and the only thing worthy to ingest. My daughter got the nachos. The meat tasted like the meat you would find out of a can, lacked flavor. She is a huge nacho eater, she didn't even make a dent in the large portion. The Peanut has been a favorite of mine, unfortunately, I will probably not come back.

Picked this place on a whim and it exceeded our expectations! Paige provided the best service and was friendly as could be. The BLT and Greek salads hit the spot with freshness, quality and taste. The 3 wings and fries was well worth the value and came out piping hot. The blue cheese salad dressing appeared to be house made and was full of flavor. The atmosphere was pub feel with cold beer and the adult cherry limeade goes down very easy. Plenty of TVs showing sports and two separate dining areas (one with high tops and the other with traditional tables). A small sidewalk patio are makes it appealing on a nice sunny days. Highly recommend if your in the area!

Stopped in for lunch after filming Overland Park homes in the $400K-$500K. I was craving some wings and the Peanut always delivers. I personally think they have some of the best wings in the city. They’re the WHOLE wing and done right! Crispy and delicious! I got the side salad with ranch dressing. Great place to watch some football games as well!

Stopped in on a Saturday night at 6 pm to eat and watch the Royals. It was busy, but we were able to be seated right away. Great place to catch a game from basically any table. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich, and my wife had the southwest egg rolls. We were both very pleased with our meals. Tenderloin was cooked perfectly. Nice selection of draft beers and drinks, and the service was excellent!
Rob D — Google review
Let me start off by saying the food was incredible. Best wings? Ya id say so. Hot dogs? Hell ya You guys killed it in the food catergory. Service on the other hand, drinks came fast but took about 15 minutes before we could get a chance to order, and then the appetizer came out with the food, the nachos we heard great things about. The kicker? They were cold. Had a couple anyway and I could tell that they were indeed good, and I bet even better warm.
Taylor M — Google review
Went in for a late Saturday night dinner. Restaurant was packed but was inviting. There was no sign ‘wait to be seated’ or a hostess so we sat ourselves down. Not wanting to be missed in the chaos we flagged down a waitress, Melissa, to let her know to which she responded ‘did you seat yourself without letting anyone know? Yeah. I’ll be 10 minutes’ service never improved from there. She seemed irritated to be serving. Apart from that, food was great! Outside seating was nice.

Pizza restaurant

Sports bar
Nestled in Overland Park, The Other Place is a beloved sports-themed pizzeria that has been delighting locals since 1997. This family-owned establishment, part of a chain that began in 1970, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere adorned with natural wood accents and numerous TVs showcasing live sports events. It's the perfect spot for fans to gather and cheer on their favorite teams like the Kansas City Chiefs or Royals while enjoying delicious pizza, wings, and an impressive selection of beers.
The pizza is amazing. Buffalo chicken was great. But make sure you get the ranch dressing to dip the pizza in. Takes it to a different level. Shelby works her ass off and does a great job behind the bar. Super friendly and quick.
Ben H — Google review
Fun place to watch all types of sports. We watched fishing, golf and spike ball. The food was ok but nothing special. We had the Frisco burger and Longhorn. The burgers were $14 so fairly reasonable. The onion rings were really good. I think our waitress was disappointed that we didn't order drinks or appetizers. Service was meh . It was nice to try but we probably won't return.

Great little sports bar. We went here for dinner lunch when we got into town. We ordered the Taco pizza and it was great. remined me of Happy Joe's taco pizza I had as a kid. Spot on excellent pizza. Servers was great and gave us some tips on things to do near by for the grandkids. Thank You!

Always has friendly servers and bartenders. The food is always made right and tastes fresh and delicious. Really affordable lunch options. Their tenderloin Tuesday is a favorite for my wife and I. Love this bar

As the HQ of the Iowa Hawkeyes watch parties, the OP provides a wonderful environment to take in the big games amongst fellow Hawkeyes. The service is typically pretty fast and friendly. They offer a wide variety of beer and mixed drinks, a long with non-alcoholic beverages. The food menu provides something for everyone from pizza to burgers and a mix of pub grub in between. Whether to watch the Hawkeyes eek out a defensive victory at Kinnick or just to enjoy a nice taco pizza and a margarita, the OP has you covered!

Sat and sat and no one came to bring water or anything. This is the second time in a week we've done this. The other time was another restaurant altogether. Is it unreasonable to expect ANY kind of service after 6-8 minutes?. Thanks a lot... now I have to go eat Thai. The Thai place had water on the table within 60 seconds.
Gavin H — Google review
Honestly this bar and grill is way more expensive then advertised i got a grinder sub with waffle fries and nachos cheese and had 3 draft beers and my total was well over $40! $6 for a draft beer? Yeah thats ridiculous for Miller light! Absolutely will not go back

Verdigris Bar, located in Johnson County, offers an exquisite cocktail experience that is sure to leave you feeling indulged. Oh you fancy huh! First experience with Verdigris and I was extremely impressed. This is a great spot for high end cocktails. The food my group had was very good too. I really appreciated the menu design and layout, with their different groupings of cocktails. I’m confident you’ll be able to find something you like. With great flavors and attention to detail, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely keep this place in mind. Whether you’re looking for a nice place to go with a group or somewhere for a romantic date night, Verdigris has you covered with great atmosphere both inside and outside. The service was solid and professional as well.

Easily One of the Best Cocktail Bars in KC! Verdigris in Leawood and easily one of the best cocktail bars in the Kansas City area. The attention to detail in their drinks is unmatched—expertly crafted, balanced, and creative. The rotating menu keeps things fresh, so there’s always something new to try, but they also nail the classics. The ambiance is classy yet welcoming, making it perfect for a date night or a laid-back evening with friends. Service is top-notch, and the bartenders really know their craft. If you appreciate a well-made cocktail, this place is a must-visit!
Vasanth B — Google review
This bar is stunning! The bartenders and host were very kind and friendly. You can tell just by watching the bartenders work that they are incredibly skilled. The atmosphere is very classy but relaxing. I only ordered one, but every drink we saw made looked like a work of art. I ordered an aqua regia and it was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. I would absolutely go again in a heartbeat.

Great bar with great vibes and great, no, amazing cocktails. The servers and bartenders are all very friendly and professional. Drinks are delicious and unique without being gimmicky. Definitely recommend for an after dinner cocktail.
Chris J — Google review
I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Verdigris Bar in Leawood, Kansas, and I can’t stop raving about it! From the moment I walked through the doors, the vibe was pure magic—sophisticated yet warm, with a stunning Art Deco-inspired interior that feels like stepping into a glamorous, modern speakeasy. The plush leather banquettes, mirrored tables, and soft blue-green tones (a nod to the bar’s namesake, the patina of oxidized copper) create an atmosphere that’s both upscale and inviting, perfect for a date night, a catch-up with friends, or even a solo evening of indulgence. The subtle scent wafting through the air (yes, they pump a signature fragrance!) adds an extra layer of allure that makes you want to linger for hours. But what truly sets Verdigris apart is its incredible staff. The team here is nothing short of extraordinary—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The bartenders, led by the talented head bartender Kory, are true artists, crafting cocktails with precision and flair. I had the pleasure of trying the “Carrot Cake at Work,” and it was a revelation—one of the most creative and delicious drinks I’ve ever tasted, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The staff’s expertise shines through as they guide you through the menu, offering insights into the seasonally inspired cocktails and helping you find the perfect drink to suit your mood. The general manager was also a standout, mingling with guests, sharing stories about the bar’s unique spirits, and making everyone feel like a VIP. The service is warm and welcoming without being overbearing, striking that rare balance of professionalism and genuine friendliness. You can tell the team loves what they do, and their enthusiasm is infectious. They even took the time to chat about the inspiration behind the menu, which changes every six months to keep things fresh and exciting. The food menu was a delightful surprise too—don’t sleep on the popcorn or the Monte Cristo; the chef deserves all the praise for elevating bar fare to something truly special. The vibe at Verdigris is unmatched—lively yet intimate, with just the right mix of upscale elegance and laid-back charm. The music, often a great selection of rap and modern hits, adds a fun, unexpected twist to the sophisticated setting. Whether you’re sipping a smoky cocktail at the bar or relaxing in the cozy outdoor seating area, every moment feels like a celebration. I left feeling uplifted, inspired, and already planning my next visit. Verdigris isn’t just a bar; it’s an experience that leaves you smiling long after you’ve left. Highly recommend making a reservation and treating yourself to a night at this gem!

My wife had the steamed buns, which was pretty good. Not much going on the place was pretty dead for a Friday night. Party of six had a couple of bottles of wine martinis some decent cocktails. Not very busy, but it always took a while to get the drinks. Spoiler alert don’t get too loud or they’ll come over to your table and tell you to be quiet. Evidently they have a policy about having too much fun. Won’t be back.
David M — Google review
Andy and the team were outstanding! The atmosphere was very nice but yet relaxed and inviting. They rescued us from a terrible bar experience nearby during dinner and delivered a memorable night with expertly crafted cocktails that were creative, balanced, but not pretentious. The menu offers something for everyone, and the staff know their craft inside and out. My wife and I sat at the bar and enjoyed a great evening of unique drinks and great conversations.
David M — Google review
I was so disappointed in our experience Saturday night. I have been here about 10 times. The manager explained to us that they are considered a night club because they serve mostly cocktails and not food. Our server was terrible. We sat on the patio and there were 9 ladies in our group. One of us ordered an espresso martini with tequila. It was made with vodka. Several tried it and ordered what they thought was the same cocktail. The martinis were made with tequila this time and no one liked them. He admitted his mistake, but didn’t offer to replace the drinks. No one drank them and ordered other drinks and they were still charged for them. I ordered a lemon drop. He came back at one point to confirm 4 espresso martinis. I didn’t reply because that is not what I ordered. He came back and hands me an espresso martini. I didn’t order that. He said when I came over to confirm you said nothing so I assumed you wanted an espresso martini. Nope, those words never came out of my mouth. He was so put out. He was not accommodating, friendly and we all felt the service was terrible. I feel like for $17 a drink, they should be friendly at least. I think they used to provide great service. I would not go back based on the service and the vibe. They are trying to be something they are not. Super disappointed.

Hamburger Mary’s was a lot of fun and their food was great. The drag show was very good but make sure you make reservations in advance. It was a full house.

I recently attended my very show for a bachelorette party, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, the energy was incredible, and I left with memories that will last a lifetime. The performers were absolutely phenomenal—engaging with the entire crowd and making sure everyone felt included. I especially loved how they took time in between sets to connect with people and highlight those celebrating special occasions. It made the night feel so personal and fun. The service was excellent as well. Our server and waiter were attentive and welcoming, adding to the overall positive vibe. On top of that, the food and drinks were fantastic. I ordered the Barbara-Q Bacon Cheeseburger, which was juicy and flavorful, with perfectly crispy fries on the side. I also tried the mac and cheese balls, which were a delicious treat. For my drink, I went with a strawberry margarita,it was refreshing, well-mixed, and definitely a highlight of the evening. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just looking for a fun night out, I can’t recommend this experience enough. Amazing entertainment, great food, and a lively atmosphere, everything you could want in a night of celebration.

We had so much fun!! Made reservations for the Saturday brunch, it's a set buffet breakfast style menu with bottomless mimosas!! Eggs, sausage, biscuits and French toast. So I can't comment on the regular menu but even as vegans found something to eat. Of course the show is what you really are there for...the queens were amazing, beautiful and talented! There was dancing, singing and so many laughs!! Bring your dollar bills have a bite and enjoy the show!!

Love love love the show is hilarious as well as fun. The atmosphere is great. Better than I expected so good came back the following week for my birthday to try out the Bingo. Not sure what one I liked more! Definitely will return!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. We went last year for a 15th birthday party and my 16 year old LOVED it SO SO MUCH she wanted to go for her 17th birthday this year. The Queens are amazing and interact with the crowd. The always recognize special events such as Birthdays, Divorces, Bachelor/Bachelorette, Anniversary, etc. Though my daughter is only 17 they gave her a birthday shot of cranberry juice and included her in the celebration. They told her they were preparing her for her future LOL... One of the Queens actually sang and went through the crowd and had people sing on the mic with her. It is always a good time and the food is not bad. Drinks a good and the service is quick. Be sure to have you ones ready to go. You'll need em.

The must fun you'll ever have for Sunday Brunch! The food on the Sunday buffet is homemade, offers a great variety, and is soooo delicious. Eat, relax, and enjoy a fantastic drag show for as little as $25 per person. Can't beat that value!
Adam B — Google review
Quite the experience! Free parking across the street. A reservation is needed and your bill must meet the required amount of $15/per person- (So if there is three of you, paying individually, each bill would have to equal a minimum of $15.. OR if paying together, the bill would need to equal a minimum of $45) which is easily achieved with an entrée AND a drink/appetizer/dessert for each person. 13+ years old to get in. Its a smaller place than I expected it to be, with some tables out of view of the stage. We had a huge pillar in the way, so we had to watch the performer on a TV screen. The performer was funny, but the "oh yeah" moaning- and the frequency of it- was excessive. The service was good. The food came out very hot. Our drinks never got refilled, but we didnt specifically ask for them to be either? We went on a Saturday, when they play bingo for a charity. It was fun, but very very very loud- read lips or sit next to someone you want to chat with, I couldnt hear the person across from me.. If you are there for a birthday or bachelor/Bachelorette party, they give you a free shot. They do a little meet and greet / pictures with the performer at the end. If you go on a bingo night, I suggest getting there earlier, and finish eating before bingo starts at 4pm. They play 10 games, with a small break after seven games. PAY DURING THE BREAK. A book of bingo cards is $10 and you can buy as many books as you want- The more you buy, the better chance you have at winning- but the closer you get to 5:30pm, the faster the numbers get called out, making it a little harder if you have multiple cards. But people won QUICK (sometimes only 5 balls got called) and only one winner per game, so be quick to call it out and even quicker to get to the stage. Overall, it was a fun experience. But if youre someone that doesnt like loud noises, this isnt the place for you. And if you dont like being the center of attention, dont be a winner at bingo :) In the end, the performer did allow pictures to be taken with.

✨ Drastic Measures & Wild Child: A Sanctuary for Great Drinks and Even Greater Energy ✨ Stepping into Drastic Measures & Wild Child feels like walking into a carefully blended cocktail of beauty, calm, and connection. The moment you enter, the zen atmosphere wraps around you like velvet—dim lighting, curated playlists, and a vibe that whispers chill, you’re welcome here. It’s a space where individuality isn’t just accepted—it’s celebrated! 🍸 The cocktails? Pure artistry. Unique, layered, and dangerously tasty. Whether you’re sipping a smoky mezcal creation or a vibrant, fruit-forward twist you didn’t know you needed, every drink tastes like intention. It’s clear the bar team isn’t just mixing—they’re composing. But what truly sets this place apart are the humans behind the bar. The bartenders radiate warmth and personality, making every customer feel like more than just a ticket. Max, in particular, elevated the experience for me and my twin sister in ways that went beyond the pour. As Black women, we felt genuinely seen and valued, not just welcomed but deeply appreciated. That level of attentiveness and respect isn’t common—and it matters. 👏 The manager, effortlessly chill, sets the tone for an environment that feels more like community than commerce. You can feel it in the way the team interacts—with each other and with the guests. It’s clear this place is led with care, and the vibe flows from the top down. Between the unforgettable drinks, the inclusive energy, and tunes that set the perfect mood, Drastic Measures & Wild Child is more than a cocktail bar—it’s an experience. I’ll continue to visit as the experience is always enjoyable.

The first night I wandered in to Drastic Measures, I couldn’t believe I was in Shawnee, with the moody, yet somehow still easy going vibes (truly flawless). After trying the Kill Bill, I kept saying to my friend, “I can’t believe a bar of this caliber is HERE right in my hometown!” They always have something new in the works, so it’s easy to find an excuse for another return visit. The whole staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and will take the time to help you choose a cocktail that suits your personal tastes. The drinks are never boring, and I love the “give-back” philosophy of the owners as they often have events where sales are donated to local non-profits.

My partner and I have gone to Drastic Measures many times and recommended it to all of our friends and coworkers. I was very excited for the return of the Jurassic Park theme, but saw that the menu art online was AI Generated. For an establishment that seemed to mirror our support for artists, teachers, and community, the decision to use exploitative AI Art canceled our evening. Crayon art from a child would have been better . . . actually, crayon dinosaur art from children would have been a strong selling point, and cost the owners as much as this AI garbage. Don't use AI and you'll get my money.

Drastic Measures is a spectacular bar with a captivating speakeasy vibe. The entrance with an old-fashioned knock on the door if the light is green is a charming touch that sets the tone for a memorable experience. Inside, the dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere that makes you forget about the outside world. The service throughout the visit was impeccable and made me feel like a valued guest. But the true standout at Drastic Measures is the creative and delicious drink menu. The mixologists have created fantastic cocktails that I've never tasted before. My personal favorite was the "College dropout," which tasted like a perfect mix of spices and alcohol. If you're looking for a sophisticated and enjoyable night out, Drastic Measures should be at the top of your list.

Tom's Town Distilling Co. is an Art Deco lounge located in the Crossroads area of Kansas City, paying homage to the city's scandalous past during Prohibition. The distillery features a stunning tasting room with tufted leather, pressed tin, and a handmade walnut bar. It also includes a top-of-the-line production area, basement barrel room, and airy loft-style event space.
The minute we walked in we were greeted and asked if we were there for the tour. We each had a yummy cocktail even though we didn’t feel pressured to have to order anything. Tony has a great knowledge of the history, building and products. His presentation and personality made the time really enjoyable and our group had a really fun filled tasting. Will recommend and would revisit.

Our friends invited us to the distillery tour at Tom’s Town. We got tickets in advance and joined them on the distillery tour. Our tour guide Kate was fantastic! She’s also a chemical engineer and the assistant distiller, so she had deep knowledge on all the processes and handled questions with ease. She guided both our tour and tasting marvelously. We enjoyed learning about the process and the tasting. There was a nice film featuring the owners and other locals. They explained who Tom Pendergast was and about Prohibition in KC. They had some fine spirits!! We purchased the delicious vodka and a special reserve bourbon aged in apple brandy barrels that is only available at the distillery. We enjoyed a cocktail after the tour and had dinner across the street. It was a lovely afternoon!!

Did the tour with Tristan. He did a great job. Very knowledgable not only about the distillery but also about the history associated with the Kansas City and "prohibition". Well worth the visit.

We came for a 72nd Bday. We took the tour and our guide was excellent. We enjoyed the history movie about Tom and the tasting was exceptional. Afterwards we had dinner. I had the deep fried deviled eggs with the eggplant appetizer and Bday boy had the steak. I would give all the food we ate a 10! Robert our waitstaff was on top of everything all evening. Great experience! Thanks to all at Tom’s…. PS: even Shadow was up to par with his greetings to the distillery room!

GREAT drinks and service. I loved our server, Matty’s energy. He was knowledgeable about each drink and so friendly. The atmosphere was nice with ample seating as well.

My 2 sisters and I had a great experience at Tom's Town. We got there early for the tour we had scheduled so we had a drink at the bar first. The bartender was awesome - very knowledgeable about the drinks, the products, the history. Our tour guide, Kait, was wonderful. Very fun, engaging and full of fun facts and information! We ended the night in the downstairs pop up Halloween Speakeasy. The decorations were awesome and the food and drinks were wonderful. Highly recommend the tour for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of Tom's Town and KC!

What a fun experience. Did the distillery tour and then had cocktails afterwards. Do it with friends, as a date or by yourself. So much history was told and great spirits were consumed.
Yi L — Google review
We come here a few times a year and the service and drinks are always great. I recommend taking the tour, it has a lot of information about the history of Tom's Town and the building. At the end of the tour you sample some of their craft spirits. Oh, go at Christmas time aswell, they do a great job of getting you in the mood for the holiday season. 8-27-2025, last night my wife and I joined the bottling crew. We helped filling and labeling bottles of vodka. It was fun and we got to meet others that also help with the bottling process.

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Overland Park, Burg & Barrel is a vibrant gastro pub that perfectly blends a laid-back atmosphere with an impressive selection of craft beers. With over 100 varieties and 16 rotating taps, beer enthusiasts will find themselves in paradise here. The menu features a delightful array of diverse burgers, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, ensuring there's something for everyone.
The food came out quick. The burgers were good but the onions rings really are memorable. Service was really friendly and and they didn't waste time making sure we had what we needed.
Tim R — Google review
Went in for a late lunch expecting it to be kind of slow. There were only a couple tables when I came in, but I chose to set at the bar. I went with the Goyte they sauteed the onions for me and I opted for onion rings that are made in house. The burger has generous amounts of goat cheese, lettuce tomato and it said a balsamic reduction, but that flavor did not come across. It was a great burger cooked perfectly. Service was great and the food came out very quickly. By the time I finished it was pretty busy inside and only one server working.
Kurt R — Google review
Pros: (1) Fairly nice selection of food (2) Not too busy when we came for Thursday lunch (3) Fries were nicely seasoned Cons: (1) Could be crowded and loud at nights (2) Bourbon glaze was a bit too mild in flavor for my liking Opinion: (1) We didn’t really have any complaints and we liked our burgers fairly well. But both of us just sorta agreed that we would probably rather eat at a different burger place (that we like the flavor of better).
N A — Google review
Was very yummy. I went with my sisters and we ate every bite! They have several events/activities though out the week so we will be coming back! 4 stars on the atmosphere because our booth was fairly dirty on the seat(our table was clean). I used my own sanitation wipes to wipe it down really quick.

I had the PB&E burger and an Odell 90 Shilling. The burger has a surprising amount of heat but not too much. It was a great blend of spice and flavor. Egg and peanut butter sounds like a strange combination but it works.
Bill S — Google review
Great service. Food was okay. I did the blue moon burger. A lot going on, and it was so greasy, it was hard to get individual flavors. It wasn't bad, just not my favorite. My wife got the baby Bella burger and it was awesome. Tater tots were amazing. Try the cajun seaosning on them. Got the fried mushrooms for an appetizer and they were ok. I wasn't a fan of the breading, but they were huge mushrooms and the dip was good. I did a beer flight to try and few different IPAs. It was good. The Metcalf Mule was delicious!

I love to come here! Everyone who works here is fantastic- especially Michelle and Steven! They all take great care of their people. Food and drinks are always great. The group of customers here are great as well. This is a place you can go and feel at home! Bathrooms kind of sucked though, but they always have so it’s to be expected!

We came in to enjoy a light meal and drinks with friends to catch up about 6:30p. The server was attentive but not. It got better once the food got there. I believe she was also taking tables on the patio so that may be why it was a little off. The food was good all the way around except for my 7layer dip. That was my fault because I was expecting nachos and not toppings in a bowl with chips on the side. I ordered the queso and sour cream on the side and the server looked at me like, okay. She knew something I didn't...obviously 🫤 My friend ordered a Moscow mule and it came in a glass not in a copper cup. She was high key disappointed because this is her favorite. She ended up ordering a Modelo instead. All other drinks were delicious. Now, I've been to Granfalloon before and had a delicious black bean burger, fish tacos, and more. This particular time was just meh. So I'm changing my rating for the purpose of previous experiences as well as this one. Enjoy!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Granfalloon is exactly what you want in a local KC bar and grill — fun, welcoming, and downright awesome. Our conference crew rolled in 20-deep (yes, twenty people), and instead of panic in the staff’s eyes, we were met with smiles and effortless service. Our server was an absolute rockstar, juggling orders, drinks, and laughs like a pro. 🍻👏 The vibe is spot-on: spacious interior, comfy casual feel, plenty of TVs for catching the game, and just the right amount of buzz in the air. The drinks hit the spot, the food was perfect, and the energy was exactly what we needed after a long day of conference brainpower. Here’s the bottom line: if you’re near the Plaza and skip The Granfalloon, you’re robbing yourself of a great time. Whether it’s a crew of two or twenty, this place delivers. Put it on your must-visit list.

We meet some friends and had a great experience. The portions are on the smaller side but the food was really rich and offered a small selection to choose from (for me, it's not a bad thing). Chad our server was knowledgeable and fun!!! Try it and let me know!!!
Julie M — Google review
Local to downtown Overland Park, and was excited to try this new place out for a quick meet up with a friend. The website didn’t specify that reserving a table was required before the visit, but make sure to reserve your table before walking in if you don’t want any weird feeling or eyes peering at you. The overall atmosphere felt elegant and relaxing. Aside from the initial walk through, our waiter Polly was extremely friendly although her approach to every table was robotic and not personable. She poured our wine and definitely had some great recommendations. I was thankful for Polly when it came to making a selection since the red booklets made me feel intimated as if I was back in history class. The wine was delicious, although up-charging a $20 bottle of wine for over $50 is insane. The prices of the wine in general were pretty steep. 2oz is upward of $10. This business seems to be looking for a set niche of customers and I’m afraid that with similar reviews I read, this business won’t last in a place like this long.

I liked the dining and wine selection at your restaurant. Michael was very knowledgeable on wine and helped us with our wine selection. The food was excellent. I liked the bathrooms and the humor surrounding the bathroom door lock (and I posted about it!). I also appreciate the opportunity to earn rewards by joining the loyalty program for your establishment. The overall pricing was just slightly high (but a good value) and a bit more than what we typically like to pay when going out, but it was worth it when considering the experience, service, food quality and loyalty program. We got what we paid for. You cannot go wrong with the Bay of Pigs sandwich with the heirloom tomato salad or the Ultimate Grilled Cheese paired with their homemade roasted tomato soup! Mangia!

Jameson took great care of us! The by the glass list was a great way to try new wines and not commit to just 1 bottle/style. Cheese clock was a nice way to pair something with any of the wines we chose. Will definitely return when we are in town.

With seating options designed to enhance the game day experience, it's a great place for sports fans to gather.
Came to this place on a Wednesday early afternoon to enjoy the rooftop patio. They had an incredible drink special going on all day which we took advantage of! Atmosphere was pleasant and super fun on the rooftop, definitely going to be our go-to this summer! Their happy hour features half off apps which was great! We ordered the chicken tenders and Enchilada dip. Tenders were incredible, a yummy outside coating and juicy white meat with two sauces! The enchilada dip sounded promising on the menu but it lacked flavor for us unfortunately. Definitely try this place out if you haven’t already!

Passed by here a couple of times so it was on my list of places to try. Started with fried pickles and then we grabbed an entree each. Build your own burger was great. Tons of options to put on there. We were pleasantly surprised that they offered a brunch menu on the weekends until 2pm. Have to go back and give that a try.
Aaron F — Google review
Not a bad option for a downtown OP bar. They absolutely are aware of the parking racket that is set up next to this bar. Cars are constantly towed from the south lot directly next to this place and they likely receive incentives from it. The food is good but has gone downhill on their Taco/Burrito Tuesday. Servers are generally friendly and attentive. Bartenders can be a bit more standoffish. Not a bad option if you’re looking for a bite to eat. Just be aware this is more of a frat/boomer bar.

One of my favorite bars! The buffalo chicken sandwich is really one of the best around! I have even enjoyed the dart board and pool table a few times. Awesome spot for a patio lunch/dinner/drinks! Delicious food and great service. Pictured are the chicken enchilada dip, salmon salad (with cucumbers and tomatoes added), and the gourmet burger. Not your average bar food! Definitely recommend.
Kara D — Google review
The bar’s fine (try the brisket quesadilla!) but beware of the weekend parking lot tow racket operating directly next to the building. Trucks will tow all cars in this lot and then charge 2x what it usually costs to get your car back if you need it before their Monday operating hours. It’s fairly obvious that the tow company (Pro-Tow) preys on young adults coming to the bar on busy weekend nights. The lot is reserved for shops that are not open or operating when towing takes place. If you can’t find street parking, find a different bar or PAY UP!

I was referred here for restaurant week. I’ve been here before I just didn’t remember the name or location, so kudos for restaurant week. The bartender was such a gentleman. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I didn’t have to ask to be service he was ready to take my order. I had the hot honey chicken Chicken sandwich. Big portions. The chicken was very tender a juicy. I can’t handle the spicy too much but that sandwich was very tasty, lips were tingling but tastebuds were satisfied. 😋 I ordered fries as my side which were decent. I also had a side salad which came with the restaurant week menu. Veggies were fresh and ranch was bomb. I will say it’s a very dim lit place, but overall it was an enjoyable moment for me.❤️

First time trying this place and wasn't disappointed. It was jammin but it was a Friday night. Got right in and seated immediately. Our server was awesome. We had the pretzel with beer cheese and breaded jalapeno poppers for starters so good. For the main meal I had the Barbq pork Mac n cheese. Delicious !!! My daughter had grilled chicken in her Mac n Cheese. She loved it. The boyfriend had the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich. He said it was the best ever. We tried something banana and some kind of Peanut Butter Dessert. Not sure of the correct names but both were heavenly. Cannot wait to go back.

We got to enjoy this stop because of the the Pubpass and so glad we did! They had a front patio we could enjoy with our pup. Service was great. She was super patient with us, as it was our first time eating there. So disappointed they were out of impossible dogs, but what we got was superb! The Cajun Mac was delicious lots of well seasoned creamy sauce and since it was Wednesdays I got it for $3 off! The grilled Samlon was great and the Teriyaki was delicious. We were happy to be on the patio though as there was a odd smell (maybe a sewage problem).

Went in after the Chiefs divisional round win around 7pm. It was packed! No where really to sit and we wanted to eat. We found a small spot on the wall, the service is good, the servers are attentive given how many people were in there. Food was average. Ordered fried pickles and they were thin and floppy and hard to eat. We ordered the Salmon BLT and the banh mi. The banh mi is SO spicy hot. The sambal on it is so spicy and the jalepenos have the seeds in them. They should have that in the menu as I could t eat it. The bathrooms are gross and overall it’s a dive bar. You get what you get.

When you asked for a wrap and some Mac and cheese But you get a Pretzel that your Allergic to and The wrap So covered in buffalo sauce that you can’t taste anything and they barely put meat in it. I don’t know why you would substituted for the most cheapest thing when the mac & cheese was like $18 on DoorDash, but you gave me the most cheapest which was like the pretzel That I’m allergic to

Always a solid choice for lunch. Tried the firecracker shrimp tacos for the first time, and they were delicious! My co-worker said the jambalaya was seasoned well. I’m typing this inside the restaurant. I just had a conversation with my server who I’ve only seen twice since being here. I know it’s a Saturday and busy but at the same time come check on your table. Everyone at my table had an empty drink and had to literally go fill them up ourselves. Then I find a hard chunk of something in my burger and my kids burger. I bring it up just politely asking even after the terrible service. “Any idea what this might be?” Goes and grabs the manager who brings up “well it’s just cheese” I’m sorry but yes the kids burger was probably just cheese. But the one on Mine was definitely not cheese. I’ve been to culinary school and I can tell ya that isn’t cheese. His only solution. I’ll get you another. I had already ate the other half of the burger. Waited forever for service that was terrible. I woulda been happy with taking half the cost of my burger off but no let’s just replace it instead. The server is more worried about helping out people who are drinking watching the game but doesn’t remember the fact that everyone tips. I’ve never in my life tipped less than 15 bucks minimum. This is the first time I tipped $0. The whole ordeal with the service and the manager I won’t be back. Drive to the blue springs johnnys. They ACTUALLY give a crap.

Since the original location in Lawrence opened up back in the 80s, I've always enjoyed the food. I would say this locations service is hit or miss, but the Shawnee Mission Pkwy location is sound. It's well worth the extra 15 minutes to get the full experience. I can make a burger or pizza at home, I go for the experience.

I’ve been to different locations of Johnny’s Tavern and they all have been great. There is plenty of space to park. The server was great. We were there for almost 2 hours and the server didn’t rush us at all. We both ordered tacos. I had the shrimp taco. It was a bit too spicy for me, but it was good. My friend has the street tacos. There are many TVs to watch sports in the restaurant. There are even small TVs on each table.

The Piano Room is a cocktail lounge with live piano and vocal performances, as well as open-mike nights. It's a cozy space, and the patrons love the singing bartender Brenda.
The coolest, most welcoming place for local artists of every genre, skill-level and love of music! Laid back, nothin’-but-love atmosphere that is TOTALLY accepting, affirming and celebratory of ALL humans. Think of it like “Cheers” for musicians and music-lovers alike. Very homey and welcoming bar to artists of all talents, levels, and backgrounds. I attended the open mic night and was met with the kindest compliments. That said, their food options are quite limited so I would bring your own snacks if you want something to munch on (they allow outside food and there are several restaurants within walking distance)! The host was kind enough to share the photos she took of my performance, so here they are!

Had a great time at the Piano Room celebrating a friend’s birthday. It was my first time, and I didn’t know that they do open mic, as well as performances by the bartender, and pianist. That was my 2nd time singing in public in my life; the 1st was at another friend's birthday party. Since then, this little slice of time has become a mainstay for my week. The open mic scene at the Piano Room was dormant by mid-2020, but now it's up and running again. There's a great keyboardist/trumpeter, Ken Page, who MC's and can provide good backup to your musical ideas if you like. My hat's off to people who are exploring their talents, doing rather than watching on a Wednesday night. This is the coolest dive, and a welcoming and supportive audience awaits! Come check it.

As my good friend Steve says, "this is the best bar in KC". We have been going here for years but I always wanted it to stay a bit of a neighborhood gem. Now that Heather has won best bartender I guess the secret is totally out. So happy for them to get the kind of recognition they have always deserved. Heather is a multitasking marvel who sings, makes killer (strong) drinks, and can make change all at the same time. She is so talented as is the rest of the PR crew!

I LOVE this place. I’m becoming a regular on Monday nights when the jazz collective Plays. Wish I could go other nights but I work. Blown away by the singing bartender-Brenda who “slings and sings” she doesn’t miss a beat while Pouring or letting you pay. What a gem! Feels big city but cozy and oh so cool!

A nice hole in the wall bar. If you ever wanted to feel like you were on Cheers, then this is your place. The community is close nit and welcoming, especially if you go during Open Mic Night, or Karaoke night. The bartender has an amazing voice and is super nice. I don't even have to order anymore - I walk in, she sees me and brings me my drink without a word. She's the best. Warning though: The drinks are made stiff, so get ready for that.

Tower Tavern is a popular sports bar located at the base of a large red radio tower in Kansas City. It's part of Martini Corner, an area with four great bars to explore. The bar offers a relaxed atmosphere with TVs scattered throughout the spacious room, a variety of local craft beers, and a solid menu featuring items like meaty Stromboli and fried goat cheese salad.
Great neighborhood spot! From the drinks to the food, to the service, everything was very good! Ordered a "garbage salad" and pizza. Generally do not expect much from bar food, both were delicious. This establishment has a great neighborhood vibe with indoor & outdoor seating. Plenty of good quality TV's, and every bartender or waitress that helped us was super friendly. Can't go wrong here. I will be back!

I never give 5 star unless everything is perfection—HOWEVER this visit was pretty damn close! The club salad was FULL of blue cheese, prosciutto goodness along with artichokes and tomatoes and much more! The pesto chicken sandwich and fries was amazing. The chicken is pounded thin which is the perfect canvas for the arugula and red pepper salad. The fries were crispy greatness. Super impressed!

Love this place. The weekends are the best for their chili-cheese dogs! Great selections of ciders. Cool people that work here. The artichoke dip is to DIE for.

Wow!! What a cool place to go for a local pizza and beer. Great vibe and a good home town bar feeling. I got to meet Jared (part owner) such a great guy and very professional. Had a delicious lunch and we tried all the favorites. I’ll be back again and again. Love this place it’s a must go to if you in the KC area.

Pretty good place to chill, hang and grab a bite to eat or late small dinner. Had chicken wings with a banging sauce, bacon wrapped shrimp with their homemade dipping sauce, and the oh so unforgettable spinach and artichoke dip. They even give you chips and pita bread with spinach dip. Never seen that before 👍🏽 drink are at least 10 bucks, beers are a good 4/5. Have been back several times including only to order food lol

Veritas Whiskey and Wine Grill in Leawood, Kansas is a great spot for a date night with its varied menu and excellently prepared dishes. The Mahi Mahi with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted carrots is particularly enjoyable. The restaurant offers a wide selection of whiskeys at reasonable prices, including some rarer finds. It's also known for its wine pours and even offers Busch Light, making it one of the only places in Leawood to do so.
Had the most delightful time at Veritas Whiskey and Wine Grill with a large party. Our server was knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere is lovely. The Honey Orange Salmon was out of this world delicious. The potatoes were perfect and the brussel sprouts were some of the best. Can’t wait to go back soon.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere and great experience. We had the southwestern eggrolls, whipped honey and goat cheese, asian chicken wings, and shrimp al vino. These were appetizers to get us started. We enjoyed everything we had. My boyfriend had Crab Cake Benedict, best friend had the logger with sausage, and I had the honey chicken sandwich. Fantastic happy hour prices! This is a hidden gem and don’t sleep on this place. Just GO!

Sitting at the bar has entertainment value unto himself. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, unparalleled service, and both food and drink are on point. I asked for a gin and tonic the way I liked. No hesitation to get dress rosemary from the kitchen. What a gem!

The server was awesome and really helpful it was our first time in. We ordered the Honey Whipped goat cheese it was really good…. (I don’t normally like that type of dish) but it was awesome! The other food was really good too! The drinks were made very well I got the barrel old fashioned and the wife got a French bourbon.
Matthew K — Google review
This was my second time at Veritas, it was not as great as our first time. The service was off, we never really knew who our server was and no one checked on us for our food until we were done eating. We were served a drink where the soda had clearly ran out for but we didn’t get ahold of the server for 20 minutes. Also My second pear martini was so different than my first, way stronger and not as tasty. The dessert sounded great but the brownie was lukewarm. Overall the entrees were great but everything else was just ok.
Allie L — Google review
This place was amazing! I would definitely come here again. This place is pretty expensive for smaller portions, but it's worth it. As I said, the portions are smaller than normal, but they still leave you satisfied. Our server was very kind and helpful. The food was out of this world! My daughter got a 6oz filet that came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. She said that the potatoes were the best potatoes she had ever tasted. She also said that they were creamy but not too creamy. And that they didn't really have seasonings, but they didn't need them. Also, her steak was cooked perfectly. It was basic but delicious . Also, my wife got al pesto pasta that was creamery than she expected but still really good. I got the Paella and it was very good! It had a slight kick to it that really brought it all together. So, I would defilently recommend this as a place to eat accosionaly. Kids who are a little older and that are not picky would probably enjoy this.

Date night win! Menu with nice variety, dishes excellently prepared with good flavors and textures. Thoroughly enjoyed the Mahi Mahi with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Fun and wide selection of whiskeys including some rarer finds at relatively palatable prices, if that's your thing. We dropped in on a Saturday night without a reservation and got seated right away, but they do take reservations, which seems the safest bet. Service was kind and food arrived in a timely fashion. We were able to spend a little over an hour here then walk over to AMC to catch a movie by 7pm. So glad we gave Veritas a try and looking forward to coming back with friends!

Food and cocktails are exceptional. A nice variety of small plates and larger meals. Especially love the paella to share. The saffron broth and smoked Andouille sausage is so good. The smoked old fashioned is expensive but worth it. Veritas is my new favorite restaurant.

Live music venue
Green Lady Lounge is an iconic jazz club with a retro vibe, featuring live music every night in a setting of scarlet walls and a marble bar. The venue offers a perfect jazz atmosphere with its dimly lit space, red walls, and long lampshades casting a warm glow. Visitors can enjoy live jazz performances without any cover charge while sipping on cocktails and wines from the extensive menu. Additionally, the lounge provides appetizers to complement the musical experience.
This place was packed and lively and truly felt like THE place to be. We had to wait at the door to be escorted in. Seating was definitely limited, but the atmosphere was friendly and accommodating. A group welcomed us with open arms to sit at the table really close to them…almost a shared space. We visited and they filled us in on the best drinks. I wish I could remember what I ordered, but I only got a picture. I tried a few different drinks and all were very good…crafted perfectly. Make sure to venture to the basement where there’s a completely different band playing. The red glow, mirrors, and chandeliers throughout make for great pictures! I will definitely return to this jazz lounge!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk into the Green Lady Lounge, I think you'll be blown away. Both the main level and the lower level offer unique experiences. They charge a cover even when bands aren't performing, but when I stopped by during the day to check it out, they let me look around without charging me. My wife and I went back later that evening and had a great time. Great drinks and wonderful jazz music. Highly recommend you try out both areas!!!

The Green Lady Lounge is a really nice spot to enjoy live jazz in Kansas City. The atmosphere is relaxed with comfortable seating and mood lighting, and the music was excellent. The drinks were well made, and the service was friendly. It’s an easy place to spend a few hours and enjoy good music without feeling rushed or crowded. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in town.

Relaxing, tranquil, serene, vibes, and so much more that can’t be put into words! The live music was amazing! One of the best jazz nightclubs, awesome vibes, great mixed drinks, wonderful staff, and friendly bouncers smiling to greet you as you provide some entry cash. Lights down low, lounge sofas and chairs, cool bar… all in a nondescript building. And all tripped off by some EXCELLENT musicians (challenging to lol get their photo in this low lighting, live it!). Every time I’m in KC for a week business trip, this is the place I’ll frequent multiple nights… it is “that” cool. Don’t miss this gem!

Love Green Lady Lounge! I only get there once every few years as I'm from Minnesota, but was in KC for a wedding last weekend. I made sure to stop in and show my husband my favorite KC spot. Great music, delicious drinks, and friendly staff. The atmosphere is so cool too! Can't go wrong with gawdy, vintage decor and red lights 😍 I'm not sure when, but I WILL be back.
Kari L — Google review
The Green Lady Lounge is a classy, speakeasy-style cocktail and jazz lounge with an inviting, old-school charm. There’s a $10 cover charge, and they check IDs at the door. Once you step inside, smooth jazz music fills the air, setting the perfect mood. The lighting is warm and atmospheric, with beautiful vintage hanging lanterns adding to the nostalgic vibe. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the live band was fantastic—definitely one of the highlights of the night. They offer both cocktails and mocktails, with mocktails priced around $10 and cocktails starting at $12, depending on your choice of liquor. My favorite drink was the Berries and Cream mocktail, while my husband loved the Dark & Spicy Mule. While they don’t serve full meals, they do have a few snack items and desserts to enjoy alongside your drinks. I also appreciated that when you close out your tab, you have the option to tip the band directly on your receipt—a nice touch that supports the live music. Overall, The Green Lady Lounge is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great jazz, quality drinks, and an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.

The Hi-Dive Lounge is a laid-back local spot in Midtown, Kansas City, offering a mix of stiff drinks and hearty comfort food. It's known for its mystery beer machine that dispenses both yard beers and high-end brews. The bar has a fully stocked bar, diverse menu with vegetarian options, and also serves Sunday brunch. Located on West 39th Street, it's a popular hangout for locals looking for a relaxed atmosphere and affordable drinks.
We love the High Dive! Sadly, we hadn't been in a few years, so remedied that yesterday! Went for lunch. I had the pretzels and he had a meatloaf sandwich. Everything was good, bartender was great. Definitely recommend!

To the bartender who took my carryout order on the afternoon of 9/9/2025 not only did you mess up a plain cheeseburger that repeated to you over twice on the phone. The dismissive attitude you had when I came to pick it up because apparently you were too busy chatting with the ONLY TWO PEOPLE at the bar to be professional and get my simple order right. Do better!

This bar is a must visit spot every time I’m in KC. Grab a mystery beer from the vending machine, eat some delicious food (I recommend the burgers and wings!), and grab a seat to watch a game or listen to some tunes.

5 stars for everything!!! I met a friend for lunch & the food was outstanding! Service was great, even though the bartender was left to take our orders & such. The atmosphere was fun, vibrant, comfortable & everyone was singing along with the great song choices they had playing. Totally ready to go back!!!!

Stopped in because I heard the meatloaf was good.. And it was delicious. The mashed potatoes and green beans that came with it was good too. Tried the wings and they're good too. The atmosphere was cool, more like a bar setting. The service was good and the price of the beers were normal/average. They have $5 random can beer machine that's pretty cool too. My only complaint is that the meatloaf could be a couple dollars cheaper. I'd recommend it though if you can get past the sticker shock.

One of my favorite BLTs in KC. Get the chips over the fries. I previously gave it four stars but after my last visit, two. I spoke at length with my server about my order and I was served an item I'm allergic to, anyway. I didn't realize it until it was too late and I had a reaction. It wasn't too busy, there's no reason for the lack of regard.

Swordfish Tom's is a hidden gem in Kansas City, known for its intimate and vintage-inspired setting. Tucked away in the basement of an unmarked building, this speakeasy has a discreet entrance through an alleyway. With a maximum capacity of 30 people, it can get quite busy, and guests may have to wait outside until the green light signals available seating. The bar specializes in pre-Prohibition era cocktails but also offers creative concoctions crafted by their skilled staff.
Really cool place! I was in town in Kansas City on a work trip and went in the late afternoon. The place has a really good vibe in atmosphere like you’re walking back in time to a speakeasy from the 20s. Staff and service was very friendly. I definitely would go back again. I recommend this place.

Swordfish Tom’s is the kind of place that truly feels like a real speakeasy, not just a hidden bar with a fancy sign. It is intimate, unique, and has an atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in on a secret. The staff are true connoisseurs of cocktails. If nothing on the menu catches your eye, which is honestly rare, they will happily create something special just for you. We tried several drinks and every single one was crafted like a piece of art, both in presentation and flavor. This is a place for people who see cocktails as more than just a mix of ingredients. For us, it was an experience worth savoring and one we will definitely come back to.
Lo V — Google review
One of the best places to grab a cocktail downtown. There is usually a wait (which tells you everyone loves the place) so be patient, I promise it is worth it! Service is always great, cocktails are well thought out, and the atmosphere is definitely that of a speakeasy. Last night I had the Heaven, Bourbon and Earth and it was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had!
Sam — Google review
Tucked behind an unassuming doorway and a hint of mystery, this speakeasy is a true hidden gem that blends vintage charm with a warm, rustic vibe. The moment you step inside, you’re transported to another time—exposed brick walls, weathered wood beams, and soft amber lighting create an atmosphere that’s both cozy and effortlessly cool. But the real standout? The staff. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without pretense, they treat every guest like a regular and every cocktail like a personal recommendation. Whether you're a connoisseur or just curious, they’re there to guide you through the menu with a perfect mix of warmth and professionalism.

Amazing speakeasy with great cocktails. Don't enter if the light is red. Knock if the light is green. If you don't know what light I'm talking about, you haven't reached the entrance yet 😉 PS: they only accept cash, but they have an ATM inside.

Came here for an after party and had the whole back room reserved for us. That was cool. Waiters were still very attentive even with everyone coming in all at once and it being crazy back there! lol. I got the southwest chicken wrap 🌯. It was good. Not great. The waitress had suggested it and I do love a wrap so I was a little sad this wasn’t amazing but I still enjoyed it. Fries were pretty good. The sauce was great too! Would definitely come back to try something else next time too!
Betty J — Google review
The onion straws were delicious, the best thing we ate. The salad was a regular house salad with a regular ranch dressing, the bowl was wonky and the salad kept falling out the bottom. Bacon Cheddar Burger was cooked perfectly but lacked any seasoning. The bacon could have been cooked more, was not crispy. Fries were also not crispy. The worst thing was the chicken pot pie, the crust was close to being burnt and very dry. It was packed with his tasting chicken but there was little too no gravy/sauce inside. With as dry as the crust and no liquid inside it was unpleasant to eat. It also looked like a good sized piece but the bowl was extremely shallow (which maybe why there was no gravy, no room for it) but I could only eat half of it as is. Sad to say but I've had better 99 cent frozen pot pies. Service was ok.

I ordered the rancher mac, it was phenomenal. All of the textures and flavors went together pefectly. I totally recommend. We sat on the patio, and it was gorgeous. My only complaint was the VERY loud atmosphere. I understand why, though. Good food=busy=loud. The server was in a rush, but was very polite. I definitely recommend this place for good food.
Jimins K — Google review
Rather large portions of good food. Nothing spectacular. Chicken sandwich was good. Chicken Livers the batter needs some work and needs more flavor. Southwest chicken wrap was large and looked great. Loved the manager that brought our food and then asked if we needed anything. We all asked for refills, she said she would get our waitress. 10 minutes later waitress shows up asking how everything is. So obviously there was no communication and an empty promise.

I think the selling point is the giant patio, which I imagine is placed just right for those hot sunny days when you want a cold drink outside. While there on a cold night, you still get a nice comfortable interior that’s welcoming and friendly. The foods good and plentiful, the sound levels aren’t overly loud so you can still talk to yourself and be heard. Haha.. the secret tip here is they have a shuffleboard! Good place to go eat!

One of my favorite bars in Westport! Their drinks and food is great. I absolutely love their espresso martinis and I get one every time. Their spinach dip is really good as well. The atmosphere inside is great but I love when it's nice out and I can sit in their outside area!!

Stopped in here for dinner to meet with friends in KC for a night. Was looking for late night eats and this spot popped up. Menu had a nice variety without being overwhelming. We shared the hummus trio appetizer and it was flavorful and refreshing. I had a patty melt with potato salad, it was very good and not overwhelming greasy like typical bar food. The best part was dessert, we got banana cream pie and raspberry donut cheesecake. Would definitely come back for a late night bite!

The inside has some really remarkable woodwork and character. Definitely a trade gone by the wayside. Their Margherita pizza was different than expected, but was good nonetheless. Maybe it's a regional thing, as I noticed this elsewhere, but the pizza was a very good thin crust with tomato sauce and basil toppings and cheese. I was expecting an olive oil with tomatoes and cheese. Either way, it was very good and I should have got the larger one. Jeremy, behind the bar is a cool dude as well.

I’ve done my 10,000 hours in KC bars… Without question this is the best one with the best patio. Its ambience is only bested by its world class staff. The bar tender, servers, kitchen staff and management are the best I’ve found in any city. If you have one night in this city this is the bar where you should spend your time.

Better hummus than Jerusalem cafe. Better Guinness than both the Irish Market and Blarney Stone. Better service and cooler waitstaff than anywhere else in the city. I have no idea what possesses them to go this hard, but the city is better for it. I just wish they had more vegan protein options. I can only eat so much hummus with my Guinness, however good it is. 🥲

Chez Charlie, an unpretentious establishment located in the bustling Midtown neighborhood of Kansas City, is a beloved spot for many service industry professionals to relax and unwind. Despite its lack of exterior signage, this hidden gem offers a warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of reuniting with long-lost friends. Inside, patrons can enjoy dart boards and a cherished vintage jukebox that allows them to select seven songs for just 75 cents.
Great place if you like dive bars and darts. They have a patio out back if you need some air or a smoke break. Never have had an issue with staff. I've had nice experiences popping in here alone and also brining a group of ten-ish people in.

My first & My last time I’ll ever step foot in this dump At first it seemed like a nice little liberal place to drink, eat, chill, and vibe but somehow people who have only met me a few times around town act like they know me but I don’t care to get to know them because they aren’t important enough for me to interact with and they look at me like I’m awkward 😬 But in reality I’m just not trying to make people like me or dislike me I got informed by one of the bar tenders that I needed to go and I had not even said or done anything to make anyone uncomfortable? That’s not my problem Lol these people are lost and strung out on drugs and act like it’s normal to just start talking out there heads without any real reason to dislike me and they don’t even know me. But in the end I know that I’m too cool for this establishment. This place is for losers that only relate to other peoples problems which isn’t my crowd… other then that screw this bar and the rude people that come here they aren’t worth the effort.
Jeremiah D — Google review
My wife and I had always loved coming here and playing darts on a weekends night. Tonight after the haunted houses we thought we would play darts and show my family members this bar. We had zero to drink prior to stepping foot in here. I gave my wife a $20 bill to get herself a beer and grab darts. I brought only $20s out for the night. The male bartender gave my wife $6 back from buying her beer and she told him you only gave me $6, and he said she gave a $10. She came over to me with a funny look on her face and said..what bill did you give me to pay, and I said $20 why? And she told me what the bartender did. So she went back up to him, which he denied. So I went up to him with my wife and explained there was absolutely no way he was correct because I literally only had grabbed $20s for the night. And I did not have a single other bill amount on me and I looked riiiight at the bill as I handed it to my wife right back the entrance/dart board which is very brightly lit. He was an absolute prick and after going back in forth I said screw this and we grabbed our stuff and left. I have never been more disappointed in a bartender in my entire life. The most horrible service I have encountered. I don’t know if he thought we were just idiots and wouldn’t notice or that we make SOO much money we wouldn’t notice. I work hard for my money and I don’t blow it and not notice what Is spent or handed to my wife to spend. He is absolutely robbing his customers and I HIGHLY doubt this is a first. Do not spend your money here.

Don't go to this bar if you are a person who uses the restroom. I went to Chez Charlie to meet some friends. While waiting, I ordered a Hamm's. I went to use the restroom. While I was gone, the bartender threw away my drink. I asked what happened, because I was confused, and she told me I could pay for another one full price or leave. She " didn't like being talked to like that," "that" being me asking why my beer was gone. She made no attempt to salvage the sale at all, simply told me " to leave" for no reason. I've been in the industry 10 years and can't imagine anyone coming to a restaurant I run and being talked to the way I was talked to tonight. I was polite and reserved judgment, but this bartender was truly so rude to me for no reason.

Hands down the best "true" dive in midtown. Recently updated banquette, carpet, and bar stools, but they've retrained everything that's great about this old school dive. Hip, eclectic crowd. Friendly staff that makes you feel happy you walked in. Cheap drinks. You can't go wrong.
Scott C — Google review
I have never met or seen a more laid back bartender. He handled a huge crowd alone making notes for tabs on post its! He was amazing. There are dart boards everywhere so make sure you watch where you walk. Lots of options for seating even though the place is pretty small. Had a great time.
Lauren D — Google review
Chez Charlie is not a modern bar by any means. When you walk in you sort of feel like you've entered a time vortex stuck in the 90s which isn't always a bad thing. Do I go there for comfortable seating or cleanliness? No. I go there to play darts and to feel like it's 1995 again. Do I go there to have plenty of personal space and have a variety of options for drinks? No. I go there to be elbow to elbow on even slightly busy nights and will stick with some sour well the whole evening. Chez Charlie is not for everyone but it's still special in its own right.
Nome R — Google review
This is secretly one of the best bars in midtown; I'm almost afraid to review it out of fear it will stop being a secret and get overcrowded! My favorite quality is how adorable the drinks are - probably the most affordable in this part of town. I've never seen more than one bartender working at a time though so be prepared to wait for your drink. The bar also features a small but cozy back patio (good for smokers), darts, and occasionally a dj. On the best nights, you can even find homemade chili in a crockpot at the front of the bar.

The Mercury Room is a sleek and splashy cocktail bar located in the Reverb Apartments overlooking the city. It is exclusively reserved for guests who make reservations, offering intimate seating areas with plush seating and a sleek cocktail bar.
The Mercury Room is an absolute hidden gem. From the moment you step out of the elevator, you're greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows offering a mesmerizing panorama of twinkling city lights in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. The space is masterfully designed and offers an intimate atmosphere perfect for small groups & quiet conversations. The real magic happens behind the bar, where the mixologists hones their craft and as a result, creates some of the most innovative cocktails I've ever seen. Aaron kept us company, and we marveled at his skills behind the bar. It was such a pleasure to watch him in action and even more enjoyable to experience our own cocktails. He took the time to understand our preferences and made thoughtful recommendations throughout the evening. The intimate setting ensures that this level of personalized attention never wavers. Between the carefully curated playlist humming softly in the background, the subtle lighting that makes everyone look their best, and the sophisticated yet unpretentious crowd, The Mercury Room manages to strike that perfect balance between elegance and comfort. It's the kind of place where you can spend hours watching the sunset fade into the cityscape while sipping expertly crafted cocktails, feeling like you're part of something special. The Mercury Room definitely made my evening in particular feel extremely special. It was my fortieth birthday... I look forward to my next visit!

Such a vibe! It is a much smaller place than I had originally thought so be serious about booking a reservation in advance! The bartenders were helpful & the drinks were delicious. I would recommend going in the evening, when it’s dark because it sets the mood even more.

KJ was absolutely incredible. He was running the entire floor/bar and was still extremely attentive. I requested a bees knees, sadly they were out of honey. KJ took the extra step and made our party a special mini cocktail as close to a bees knees as he could get and it was PHENOMENAL. The atmosphere inside is beautiful and the patio was truly a treat. We are from out of town and are grateful we made the stop.

They change their drinks around but i had the Kashi sweet pistachio creme drink and sour lychee enflurage. The bartender was handsome and very accommodating to us. Drinks were $20+ but the atmosphere and presentations were worth it. Food was mid but i didn't expect much. Honestly all around pleasant experience

Stop #2 in the Reverb building for my wife’s birthday. It had been a long time since we visited, but we had a great night here for our second ever visit. The cocktails on the menu we ordered were outstanding, and we then ordered favorites (espresso and dirty martini) that delivered. It’s a small and intimate space with one of the best views in the city. A must for special occasions. Photos are a must!

Definitely one of the most upscale bars I’ve been to! It’s a sister bar of the Monarch Bar so if you’re fond of Monarch you’ll like The Mercury Room! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the drinks!

Incredible date night spot. Very vibey and slinky. This is an experience for a few hours before or after dinner. Small groups best. Less than 6, I’d say. Gorgeous views. Staff is very nice. KJ was our server and he was top notch. We ordered some small plates to keep us satiated (and not too tipsy) before dinner. Blown away by the food and drink. Worth the experience for price point but this is special occasion spot IMO.

The atmosphere was really cool and the view was great - definitely a fun spot with creative drinks (we especially enjoyed the greeting sipper). Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the setting. Despite several open couches and sitting areas available toward the end of the night, we were never offered a seat and ended up standing for our entire visit. The staff also seemed a bit inattentive, which took away from the experience. Overall, cool ambiance and drinks, but the service left us a little underwhelmed.

First time here, we were with a large group of kids and adults. Service was friendly and fast. Food was good, fries were a bit on the cool side. Would go again.

This is the first time I've been here to eat, usually I've just come in for drinks in the evening. The food: Bland is the best word to describe what I had that day (fish tacos). The rice has a little flavor to it but the black beans were just straight up black beans with no seasoning, including salt. The fish was good as long as you got a bite with sauce. I ate some with out sauce and once again there was no seasoning. The service: my server was a nice guy, but very slow. The food came out slow, the drinks came out slow and I wasn't checked on often. I sat with an empty drink for a while. It wasn't that busy and they had several other servers so things should have moved quicker. The drinks: I had a margarita, it was solid, definitely the best thing I had there. Overall, it's a cool atmosphere in there. There was a group you could tell were regulars that were having a good time. The laughter, music and overall energy were good even for an afternoon visit. It's a fun place to hang out but I wouldn't recommend the food. Maybe it's just the fish tacos or maybe just an off day, but even for bar food, not great.

Have been here many times for dinner and had a great experience. Decided to grab lunch here on Saturday and did not have a very good time. Service was very slow despite how few people were there. While the pizza tasted good, it was thrown together by a lazy or inattentive cook. It was very light on toppings, and the celery still had leaves on it! We never saw a manager I think maybe they need a new daytime manager there who will pay some attention to what the staff is doing and make sure patrons are happy. We won't be back for lunch ever, and will probably think again before going back period

It’s a shame because I feel this place could be awesome. The smell of sewage smacks you in the face when you walk in. CLEAN YOUR P TRAP. Been that way for months, likely longer. Eaten here multiple times (dine-in and takeout) since I live nearby. Food is always average at best- even for bar food. Definitely overpriced for the quality. Service is consistently bad. Employees seem to do what they please. Ordering takeout there is weird and a problem. Food is ready quickly normally. Pick up at bar and bartender/s never seem to want to help or have any idea what’s going on. Last time, after standing for a couple mins, I asked a girl prepping silverware (sitting at the bar) if she worked there and she said “yes but no” since the bartender was “too busy” drinking to help me out. Clear lack of management, professionalism, standards, and training.

I came in tonight, and talk had two newer servers, one that has been here before, but I haven’t seen in a while. They were amazing, and attentive. I believe their names were Angelique and Jassara. Talk is a great place, but the server service was faster than usual, and more contact! Thank you both for making the experience great! I will be back!

Have been going here for years, food has always been good. Went on Friday and the food was horrible. Had the patty melt, very few onions, bread was cold and dry, used to be toasted, pretty sure the fries were old from McDonald's. Fish tacos were ok but beans and rice very bad. Salad below average . Something has changed, maybe new manager???and quality of food has gone down hill. Oh , and stinks like sewer
Joel “ — Google review
Didn't actually eat here because we walked in and were immediately hit with the smell of sewer gas. It was absolutely awful and so overwhelming. No one already there seemed concerned about it, but I think it speaks to their cleanliness or lack thereof. The food I did see didn't look like anything special - typical bar food. We turned around and walked to Barley's next door. They were great.

We just had dinner at Talk of the Town, which we visited based on hearing about it on 101 The Fox. Where do I start! When we walked in, the smell took us back (smelled like urine), however, we wanted to give it a chance. The place was filthy from the menus to the table, windows, and don't get me started on the restroom, yuck! My wife ordered a drink that was supposed to taste like Raspberry, but it was absolutely horrible! The waitress was very nice and took it back, and we requested a pineapple margarita. Well, just as disappointing, the bartender does not know how to make a drink. We ordered the barbecue nachos and the main course was fish and chips. We wished we could throw up and start over. Would have rather eaten at QTrip. Not sure how a place like this is still in business, we certainly wish we had read the reviews before deciding to go there. Totally waste of $50.00

Nestled in Overland Park, Coach's Bar & Grill - 135th has been a beloved local spot since 1983, offering a cozy atmosphere filled with wooden booths and an array of sports memorabilia. This inviting pub features a comfort-food menu that caters to chicken enthusiasts with options like four varieties of wings, chicken fingers, and even a hearty chicken pot pie.
Coach’s bar and grill has a roof top dining area that has a great atmosphere, great wait staff and a great ambiance, low lighting, quiet and has sports and weather on the many tv’s available to watch for an evening meal with friends and family 21 and over of course… The food was delicious. We had a storm rolling in so the lightening show while we waited and ate was great as well. Would recommend!

Enjoyed my time here. Molly and Analise were great! The food was just ok. I hate gummy wings. I sent one order back and changed the style (breaded to non breaded) and they were still gummy. Analise made me an amazing drink after J told her what I wanted. Molly had a great attitude and was very attentive. They were the best part of an otherwise underwhelming experience.

I ordered the CCO Burger just as it comes; nothing added and nothing left off. I received my burger with a slab of cream cheese and nothing else. My burger had 2 items to add cream cheese and grilled onions and you forgot the one that gives it most of the flavor. It taste like bread and paste. The burger doesn’t even have seasoning. If it hadn’t of been a pick up order and for being back at work now I’d get my money back.

One word; patio. You looking for a super easy outdoor spot without the hassle of driving into the city? This rooftop is legit. Go there before two so you can get their bloody Mary, (which is an entire lunch but their menu doesn’t say that they cut it off at 2 so I’m telling you now so you don’t get shafted like I was lol.) The rest of the drinks are pretty legit. We had pulled pork nachos and Cajun fries, several rounds of mules, a peach tea, a manmosa, (which is tank 7 and orange juice—try it), and had ourselves just a lovely little patio hang.

Hands down the best sports bar food in KC. Coach’s has a wide variety of options, including all the bar food classics you would expect. The Buffalo chicken dip is outstanding and the Chicken Pecan salad is a family favorite. The sweet potato fries are a must! Coach’s has catered multiple parties for our family and the food and service was outstanding. Rooftop patio is the best setting for an outdoor happy hour in OP - multiple fire pits, full bar, TVs everywhere, and numerous tables. Run by a great family with great service!!! Highly recommend.

First, our service was great. There was a funeral party at the front when we were there and we were seated towards the back, which was fine. The manager came up and explained what was going on which was unnecessary but very nice. We shared the potato skins to start, which were perfectly sized and had great toppings. I had the buffalo chicken wrap, which had great buffalo spice, but it was quite wet and made a mess so that it was difficult to eat without a fork and knife. My friend had the chicken pot pie, which she said was great (and was recommended by the server). She said the crust was moist but crunchy and the filling was equally tasty. We did have an ant on our table (I included a video), which I’m not sure where it came from, and there was only one that I saw, but I still thought it was a bit of a surprise to see.

I wish I could give this place 0 starsMy boyfriend and I just had the worst experience here this was our second time coming because the first time was great. I understand rules are rules but when you are outside trying to eat and it starts raining and you move your table out of the rain and the manager that has been there a month comes over and is very rude about moving tables I’m sorry you want paying customers to stand and eat or whatever because of not being able to move tables and then downstairs is busy and packed and getting ready for a party of 10 or so. I love the food do not love the manager. Our waitress was so sweet as well and apologized more than once for the managers behavior. So whoever our waitress was we appreciate you.

If you're on the hunt for a laid-back spot to unwind, The Brew Top Pub and Patio is your go-to destination. This vibrant venue combines the best of a sports bar with an entertainment hub, featuring numerous TVs and a fantastic rooftop area perfect for soaking up the sun. I am new to the area and needed somewhere with good vibes for a Sunday funday. The potato skins were EXACTLY what i wanted. Ordered extra cheese and no chicken, they were amazing! Beer was cold, bar tender was great and there were a lot of people at the bar to converse with!

Went there for lunch and to watch the Chiefs game. They don't have any booths. only uncomfortable high top tables and stools They were trying to freeze us out with the AC. The food was just ok. They charged .99 extra for a very small ramikan of ranch dressing. After the food arrived, the server only came back a few times throughout the duration of the game and didn't ask us once if we wanted drink refills. No plans to go back

Dad+1 happened to see this place leaving Scheels in Overland Park. We were able to walk in and seat ourselves right away. I ordered a beer from local brewery Martin City Brewing that was great. We also ordered the Mac n Cheese wedge appetizer and they were fresh and hot. The breakfast burger that I had was really good as well, with an egg, bacon and served on buttered Texas toast. The star of the meal was the crispy fries on the side! We would definitely visit again.

I’ve been here a few times and this place is a solid 4 stars. Spacious and a great place to watch games. Food is okay, not great, but okay. On this last trip I had a smash burger and the patties were much bigger than expected for a “smash” burger and the beef was not seasoned. Service was great.

The Antler Room is a stylish restaurant in Kansas City that offers seasonal Mediterranean dishes along with a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. Chef Nick Goellner's inventive pasta creations have garnered praise since the restaurant's opening. The menu constantly evolves, providing diners with an ever-changing array of delectable options.
Went here a month ago to take my girlfriend and some friends out to dinner. It took some time to think of the right things to say and I think I’m ready. The atmosphere was amazing, smaller dining area which was awesome for a more intimate dining experience, the server we had was an absolute dog, my man knew every detailed answer for any random question we had. I can’t remember his name unfortunately but he’s a unit of knowledge, the food itself was outstanding. The small plates where sick because it gave use the opportunity to try a bit of everything! We walked in and have a great view of the kitchen, I cook myself and seeing everyone locked in and so focused on what’s in front of them was just the first tell that it was gonna be a great experience. I’ve recommended three different people to check this place out and one was a total stranger. Will definitely be coming back for any special occasion. I get the shivers just thinking about their asparagus and crab.

We went here for our anniversary and they made sure we were well taken care of :) They have a pretty good wine by the glass list and more if by the bottle. WOW. This is the best meal I've had so far in KC and by far the best service. Dishes are tasty and presented beautifully. You order small dishes and they are brought out in the exact order they should be. We were presented with fresh plates and silverware three different times between our 6 dishes and dessert. Very intimate setting. It was an amazing experience.

We worked to get a reservation at The Antler Room about a month ahead of time, on a Saturday night before going to MTH at Crown Center. There was also a huge concert in town that we were lucky enough to see the night before. A few pink outfits were seen in the restaurant. So we talked with other Chappell Roan fans. There was a line in front of the restaurant when they opened the doors at 5 PM. The hostess worked through the line well and seated us quickly. Our server didn't bother to share her name with us, but she was excellent and they utilize somewhat of a team system here. The service was delightful. The food was incredible! It's a bit of a small plate experience. Our server told us that for four people we would likely need eight plates. We ended up ordering six to begin with and me and my friend Dave were still hungry, so we ordered a seventh plate containing steak tartare and it was the first time two of our companions had tried that dish and they liked it. I did too, and it was only the fourth time I've had it. Rather than deconstruct each of the dishes and prattle on for a giant review, I'll just say that I enjoyed every single thing we ordered. Everything was excellent! The service was spectacular and they made accommodations for one of our party of four who has a nut allergy. I will return to The Antler Room anytime my wife or friends wanna go. It's a top shelf, culinary experience in the vein of Novel or Room 39, where one of the owners got her start. The other owner, her husband, is a three-time James Beard nominee. So you can see why you need a reservation well in advance. This is a truly special gem in Kansas City. (I was also impressed that some concert goers from Dallas snagged a table before the show. I love that. Not just locals.)

I had an amazing dinner at The Antler Room in Kansas City. We ordered a wide range of dishes and enjoyed nearly every bite. Favorites of the night were the honey roasted carrots—sweet, smoky, and beautifully prepared—the crispy, flavorful pork belly, and the unbelievably good shokupan. The fried calamari, tortellini, radiatore, and pan-fried skate were also well-executed. The farfalle was my least favorite—it wasn’t bad, just didn’t shine like the others. For dessert, we had the grilled pound cake, which was out of this world—warm, buttery, with the perfect char. The pavlova was also good—light, sweet, and a nice contrast. Overall, the service was excellent, the space was intimate but lively, and the entire evening was perfect for slow-paced conversation and sharing plates. Highly recommend!

We had dinner here for our 30th anniversary. When we arrived, they had a "Happy Anniversary" card on the table! The food was amazing (we shared 5 items) and Katie did a great job of keeping things moving along and suggesting dishes. An overall great and unique experience.
Rachel F — Google review
The food speaks for itself, but is truly the only reason I would consider coming back. This is a small shareable plates place, with multiple small shared plates you select from at the start of your dining experience and they stagger out to you throughout the evening. This place is randomly located right next to Children’s Mercy set in a neighborhood with nothing else really around, which is interesting. You walk into the bar area, and the very small dining room is in a separate attached room. The tables are small and quite close together, and while they have sound-diminishing ceiling tiles, it is extremely loud and definitely not a “private conversation” type place. Our server literally said, here’s the menu, usually people choose 4-5 plates and you share them then walked away. No recommendations, no name, which was a bit odd. The food however is phenomenal, and I see why so highly rated despite the service and atmosphere drawbacks. We started with a farmers salad with wasabi peas, which was sensational, moved onto the tortellini with pesto and ricotta (scrumptious!), and moved onto a crab pasta that was melt in your mouth good. The dishes were outstanding, plating was superb and blew our minds with the flavor and fine details. We finished with the skate wing, which was lovely in preparation but I felt failed to deliver with flavor- the slaw however was superb! Our server did ask why we didn’t like the skate, I told her and without a word it was taken off our check- not at all what I was expecting as you can’t always love everything- but a sign that the chef is serious about presenting a satisfying dining experience for their guests. Would I come back? Yes, knowing that a chef stands by their food, and the appeal of an ever-rotating menu with locally sourced ingredients that provided some of the most delicious, carefully crafted plates I’ve eaten in some time. However, the atmosphere is a more energetic, loud, trendy vibe that wouldn’t be suited for a quiet, romantic dinner so knowing what to expect would be nice!
Tara B — Google review
We had an excellent dining experience here — one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. Every dish was seasoned beautifully and the execution was technically spot on, showing real skill in both preparation and presentation. We tried the Celery & Fennel Salad, Shishito, Winterfrost Wagyu Striploin Tartare, Mushroom Manti, and Pan-Fried Skate Cheek. The standout favorites were the Celery & Fennel Salad and the Wagyu Tartare — both dishes were vibrant, well-balanced, and memorable. The tartare in particular was a knockout, with layers of flavor that kept unfolding bite after bite. What impressed us most was the consistency — every plate was thoughtful, creative, and dialed in perfectly. This is a restaurant that clearly cares about both flavor and technique. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an elevated yet approachable dining experience.

Absolutely the perfect place for an afternoon cocktail. Recommend to me from some local foodies...their stock elevated several tiers. - Engaging, educated staff - Focused, well thought out drinks - Clean, well groomed facility - Intelligent interactions - Menus organized Wish I had more time, as was on time constraint. Operator / owners care, and it trickles down to guest experience. Keep up the good work everyone!!!

Aside from having an amazing 3rd date at this place, the vibe and drinks are incredible. While the Julep specializes in an overwhelming assortment of whiskeys and bourbons, it’s the Garden and Gun that sold me. Light, refreshing, and garnished…it’s an easy to gulp cocktail that should be available by the pitcher! The main floor is cozy but private, and there are two private areas for parties with that in mind. I really enjoy this place. It’s a must-try locale for the discerning KC crowd who somehow finds themselves in Westport!

Passing through KC and am a huge cocktail fan so had to stop at Julep. The neighborhood Julep is in is super cute - definitely could spend more time there. Julep is beautiful. The buildout on this place is awesome. It's a pretty small place but you walk in and see a bar and a bookcase full of bottles along with a ladder. We got the following cocktails. London Calling - if you're a cucumber fan definitely get this one! Very good. Camellia - this isn't actually matcha the powder, it's a tea they use as a mixer. I would definitely not recommend this drink. Traditional Julep - Julep knows how to make a dang good julep. Highly recommended. The Great Awakening - This was also wonderful. Definitely recommended. I'm a bourbon person, and this was a bourbon bar so I was overall pretty happy!

Good Waffle fries. Lots of beers on tap! Happy hour and daily food specials offered. Plenty of TVs - seems like the place to be on a Saturday in the fall. A great spot to have in the neighborhood.

This place is so noisy it was unbearable. We requested to move to a corner in the private dining area. It was still louder than necessary. Our food was great, fish and tots. Friends ordered steak medium rare and they were so rare. The service was great.
William F — Google review
Went in to eat as a family (4). Tables were sticky to start. Seated ourselves as the sign said to. Took 5 minutes for a waitress to come over to give us menus. No drink menu on the table. Took our drink orders and said she would bring a drink menu over. Drinks came not too long. Dropped off drink menu said I have to drop this ticket off at a table then would return. 20 minutes talking to said table never took our order. One in our Party had to use the restroom then the waitress shows up. I ordered my 20oz beer no food yet. Waited 10 minutes for said beer. Looked over and there she is talking to another patron holding drinks to another table. Still not my beer. Finally got my beer in a plastic fountain drink glass. Wow that was gross. Ordered food. Food came out. My order was wrong. Son’s was also. They did get mine right and comped my order which I thanked them. We were There for almost 2 hours to eat. Almost walked out 2-3 times. Probably should have.

Visited here for Restaurant Week lunch most recently and had a fantastic experience overall. I have been here a few other times and have never had a bad meal or drink either. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu: two orders of Carlsbad Soup, the Creamy Spinach Artichoke Chicken Cavatappi Pasta & the 6oz Salmon, and two orders of the Chocolate Covered Strawberries. The Carlsbad Soup is seriously one of the best soups I've had. The spice level is perfect and the soup is just top tier. I would have had multiple bowls if able. The pasta was a huge serving and had a great spinach artichoke flavor but could have used some other salty seasoning to really make it stand out. The salmon and rice were a great combo with the savory/sweet mix really working. The strawberries were decent if not lackluster. The strawberries are obviously not in season with the chocolate being the star - I do feel they could have provided a better dessert option but overall, not bad and light! Our server was a younger gentleman and he did a terrific job. He was extremely attentive, friendly, and we had no complaints at all! Overall, this was not high on my list for a Restaurant Week stop, but I am glad we came here.

The food was good. Service took quite a while and we had to flag down someone for refills. Not real busy at the time we were in, so we don't know what the deal was. Bathrooms, dining area and the lot were all clean. Bartender did a good job on the mixed drinks, makes a mean bloody mary. The club sandwich was good, the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was fantastic! I love me some potatoes and oh my, they didn't disappoint!

We loved going for brunch before 2020 took away buffets. Have gone a few times in between. It's always great. But I was most excited to see brunch making its way back.! They definitely had the best brunch buffet in KC.
Chris D — Google review
Went here for our 2 year anniversary because this is where we had our first date. Unfortunately the service was awful, we chose to sit at the bar and the waitress/bartender was extremely indifferent. We both had requested a side cup of sauce/dressing and did not receive them the rest of the time we were there even though it was on our receipt. The whole time waiting for said salad dressing I was watching the waitress chew on her nails and be on her phone.

Such a fantastic local restaurant serving delicious food in just a few minutes! My takeout order is ready in a matter of minutes and always pipong hot and delicious! I ordered their chicken sandwich special today-a fire and a fried chicken sandwich and they were both amazing! My husband loves their fire chicken sauce and always asks for extra. You have to try their truffle fries to believe that it's literally the best fries ever! That subtle flavor of truffle oil and the delicious grated cheese over the fries with fresh parsley is fabulous! Love their tater tots, always crisp and fried well. Love love love the vibe and can't wait to order again.

Their year-round House Brew features the flavors of local favorite Sumatra Toddy by Thou Mayest coffee roasters. Torn Label just does it right. All the beers are good and the setting is welcoming and approachable. I let the bartender pick my flight. I told him what I like and he picked a great flight that fit all my tastes. The beers paired perfectly with our tacos.

This is a fantastic spot. I was on vacation but looking for the "local" experience. There's a huge selection of tasty beers, lots of veggie options for tacos, and an extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Solid 5/5 and definitely a top notch experience.

First visit to Torn Label and was absolutely blown away. Everything about this place is top-tier. First, the staff is simply excellent! Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about their beer, and facility. Even let us see the brewery. It makes the whole experience feel welcoming and fun. The beer selection is diverse and high-quality. But the food was the legit amazing surprise! Torn Label's kitchen is operating at a high level. It's truly a scratch kitchen experience that elevates the entire visit.

Great hole in the wall in downtown KC. Great beer flights. Very chill and relaxing place. They have games to play. Mexican food was good and different. The empanadas were really good.
Kathleen R — Google review
Look… I consider myself to have high standards when it comes to tacos. I’m originally from the border of Mexico. I lived there for the first 20+ years of my life. I moved to Kansas City in 2018 and there was a taco sized hole in my heart. Nothing was quite right. Sure, there were a few good options down southwest boulevard. But I winced every time someone whose complexion matched the color of horchata that I so dearly longed for, used the word “authentic” to describe a restaurant that served tomato paste and called it “salsa”. The first time I was introduced to Tacos Valentina was at Fern Bar on the last day they served their brunch menu. Their breakfast cronch wrap transported me to the days of popping into Mexico for Sunday afternoon lunch. I nearly cried knowing it was the end of their menu. (I might have actually cried when I was brought a sample of horchata that was soon to be added to the menu. It was perfect. Just like home. Something I had yet to find everywhere else I tried.) But when I found out that these glorious cronch wraps hailed from a few blocks away, my joy was restored. Tacos Valentina has been incredible every single time I’ve gone. Highly recommend. Please go. Support local. 10/10, every time.
Kirstin M — Google review
Went with family. I never would have found it since there are no signs, just a banner on the deck. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. I had the burrito and elite. We shared the sweet potato chips with bean dip and an order of fries.
Brian R — Google review
All the beers were fantastic from the dark Mexican lager to the driveway Czech, but the real deal sealer was the tacos. I ordered the cochinita pibil and suadero to start, and I had to get the pollo adobado because the first two were so dang good. The salsa is amazing as well. Tacos Valentina is a real show stopper. Grabbed a couple cans to go as well because the beer was too delicious to leave behind. So good.
Anthony G — Google review
Hands down, Torn Label offers the best food out of any brewery in Kansas City. This is a go-to spot for us on a Saturday when we're looking for a fantastic lunch coupled with some equally solid beers. From a beer perspective, Torn Label usually offers around a dozen beers on tap, 3 of which are consistent year-rounders and the rest seasonal and rotating. I'd be hard pressed to write a comprehensive list of all the beers I love, but High Contrast Witbier and Golden Garden Saison are definitely two that I consistently look for. When you visit, you have two options: 1) the OG taproom space or 2) the newer, larger Public House space. The OG taproom is charming and moody, with lower lighting and minimal seating indoors. A huge patio/deck area makes up for it with ample outdoor seating. The Public House is where we spend most of our time. While not massive by any means, it's much larger than the taproom, and much more open and airy. Plus, the food. Let's talk about the food. Like I mentioned, Torn Label absolutely has the best food out of any KC brewery with a kitchen. But beyond that, in my opinion they have the best French fries in Kansas City overall. Beautifully crispy and perfectly salted potatoes fried in tallow and as an added bonus, Torn Label has a rotating selection of stellar dipping sauces. While they are ever-changing, we've found favorites in the curry ketchup, romesco, and gochujang aioli, among others. Beyond fries, Tacos Valentina currently has a residency inside Torn Label, serving up decadent tacos, elotes and more. If delicious local beer and delicious local food under one roof is your game, Torn Label is the name to remember.

Wine bar
Wine Bunker is a charming urban wine bar situated in the Prairiefire district of Overland Park. Founded by Travis Wallace and Kathy Richman Wallace, this cozy lounge offers an extensive selection of 250 wines by the bottle, 160 wines by the glass, and nine rotating flights. The ambiance is inviting and warm, making it an ideal spot for a date night or casual meet-up with friends.
I love this place. My wife and I visited once and I immediately loved the atmosphere, the service, and love a good wine flight. They have an impressive amount of international wine and I recall having a Japanese wine that time. I was very excited to bring my parents here as they fancy themselves wine connoisseurs. They had a great time and loved talking wine with me and the friendly staff. The staff was great with answering our questions and providing recommendations. The atmosphere is very comfortable and includes lounge-style seating. This place is a must-visit for wine lovers.
Aaron S — Google review
We met our daughter and her guy here for some casual conversation before dinner, and shared a wine board while sampling various wine flights. The flight of 3 glasses ranged in price from $26-$42, and the pours were fair! We started inside in a cozy corner, but decided to move outdoors to their patio by the fire. It was a perfect experience. The large wine board serves 4-5 (or 6 or 7, depending on how snackish you are!) and I believe was $26. We managed to polish off the entire board, and everything was delicious. I was thankful for the server who described not only each wine, but also the various items on the board. If we're in this area again, we would definitely go back!
Shell M — Google review
The wine list is extensive, covering most appellations and grapes. The wines we had were very good but I didn’t recognize most of the producers on the list. Fun, creative flights. The service was friendly and attentive. She seemed somewhat knowledgeable about the wines. It is nice that most of the wines on the list can be ordered by the bottle or glass. The biggest downside is the price. $30 for many of the glasses seems excessive, especially since the glass price was frequently 1/3 of the bottle price. All of the flights of three 2oz pours were at least $25. You’ll definitely pay a premium price if you want to try several wines. We didn’t try any food but the menu looked good.

A true gem for the Kansas City area! The ever changing wine list here is the best in the metro for wine bars. The entire staff is knowledgeable on the wines they serve and are very helpful regardless of your wine experience. The food quality and selection is better than most wine bars with some hidden gems like the balsamic grapes and the baked blue cheese. We’ve introduced 5-6 other people since our first visit and they are always impressed. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Jason J — Google review
My wife and I decided to try this place yesterday and had a great time. The small charcuterie board was delicious, my wife started with the bubbly wine flight and I had the white wine flight; very generous pours for a flight and each wine was very good and distinct in it's own way. Travis was very nice and Greg (our host/server) was very nice and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very relaxed and made you feel at home. My only complaint was the pricing. Not that it was high, but that when we received our check the prices on our receipt did not match what was listed on their menu. Apparently there is a footnote on the very last page, all the way at the bottom, in smaller font that notifies you all prices are for cash, and if you use a card you will be up charged accordingly. We asked about the discrepancy and Travis was very polite and professional in explaining it to us. Just be forewarned, if you want to save a few bucks bring cash.
Brian N — Google review
Perfect place for a date night, a meet up with a friend,or even just to have a glass(or flight) alone. Kathy and Travis the commander are amazing and Anna is great for helping you pick out a delicious glass of wine. They have wines that you most likely have never heard of ,but also have many that you may recognize. If I could give them 10 stars I would. My husband and I visit often
Cynthia E — Google review
My husband and I stopped in for a mini date night, and Wine Bunker exceeded our expectations! Friendly, knowledgeable owners, generous pours, & spread of food was delicious (snacks are not an afterthought here like some wine bars!) I love the detailed insights on the menu and in the description Travis gave us about our flights. Very comfortable living room style tasting environment. Love the featuring of artwork displayed for sale. Will have to return for live music and patio!

The Takoyaki Balls were tender and came out piping hot, I really liked them. The Seafood Pot and Classic Beef Pot were both solid, and it was fun having individual hotpots. Portion sizes were good. The sauce bar was small but had what you need. The Wonton Noodle Soup and Miso Tonkotsu Ramen were okay. The interior was neat, with fun wall designs and neon lights.

My first time here. It was very delicious. Very cozy place to have some drinks and warm your belly. Great for date night or a night out with friends and family. Portion sizes are great. I got the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, the Takoyaki Ball which is Octopus 🐙, the bang bang shrimp, and the Ika Sansai which is a Squid 🦑 salad. I also got Crab Rangoon. It was the best crab Rangoon that I have ever tasted to be honest. The shrimp was delicious and that sauce . I loved how the pork and beef were cooked. Maybe next time I will do a hot pot n

Sushi restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Power & Light District, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is a modern dining destination that promises an exciting culinary experience. This trendy restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring sushi and Japanese tapas, alongside creative mixed drinks that elevate your meal. Originally hailing from Omaha, this popular chain made its Kansas City debut in Westwood before expanding to this lively location. At Blue Sushi Sake Grill, guests can explore an extensive array of sushi options ranging from traditional favorites to innovative creations.
If you are looking for an easy sushi experience, this place might just be the spot. With a mix of more approachable rolls (like the Philadelphia) to delicious pieces of sashimi to some creative (and dare I say) adventurous in-house rolls - there is something for everyone on the sushi spectrum. There is enough on the menu at decent enough prices to come back a few times to make sure you get to try everything. We really like that the happy hour goes until 630pm - even on Saturday! The vibe is open concept and trendy. It can get kind of loud so if you want a quieter spot this might not be it. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. It isn't our favorite sushi place in KC, but is solid!

The food is excellent, and our server Miles was even better. He was fantastic- attentive, kind, and made the whole experience feel effortless. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had thanks to their excellent service.

One of the best sushi places in the whole region. They offer an all you can eat option, which is the same high quality as their normal menu. They will charge extra if you don’t finish all you order assuming you go the all you can eat option. The staff are always friendly and service is fast. Their prices for normal menu and all you can eat are spot on especially considering the high quality they serve.
Coach T — Google review
Had the pleasure of visiting Blue Sushi Sake Grill, and my spouse and I enjoyed every item we tried. Drinks were a strong start: the House Margarita was solid, and the Sangria Spritz was especially delicious. For appetizers, we had the Crab Rangoon-nothing extraordinary, but still enjoyable. From the sushi bar, we ordered several Happy Hour rolls: Roja, Cabo, Hawaiian, Tidal Wave, and Itchy Salmon. Honestly, I expected them to feel “watered down” since they were part of a happy hour menu, but I was pleasantly surprised. Each one was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. I’d happily return many more times.
Lo V — Google review
Everything was excellent, especially the cocktails (get the Passion Paloma and thank me later) and the charred edamame! Seriously, why isn't EVERYONE serving them this way? The truffle salmon sashimi is not to be missed. Happy hour menu and pricing is top tier!
Bari C — Google review
Always my favorite sushi spot in the Kansas City metro area! There’s easy, free parking and an impressive variety of sushi, from fresh raw options to cooked rolls and even delicious vegan choices. The happy hour menu is fantastic, the cocktails are wonderful, and the service is consistently top notch. The ambience strikes the perfect balance, upscale and stylish, yet relaxed enough that you can just be yourself and have a great time. If you’re deciding what to order, skip the mango crab rangoon and crispy salmon skin roll, as they were average and not worth it compared to the rest of the menu. Definitely try the Crunchy Red Roll and the Jalapeño Popper, our top two favorites!
Ally N — Google review
Came here a few nights ago. The food was amazing as always, the service kind of sucked. It seemed like our server was too busy completing her side work to help us. I prefer the downtown location better. It’s nicer, cleaner and the service is better downtown.

The beer there is always good...the food?? Well that's a different story. Had the special & the beef....at best was a tire between two pieces of bread....my friend looked over as I pulled the sandwich away the meat didn't break...he just started laughing....we returned the "special" for a refund, drank our beer & left. Go there for the alcohol, & play some pool, but do-not go for the food. Get the chips and salsa, but stop there.

We have ordered many times from Birdies for our football parties or family get togethers. They used to be pretty generous with their portions, their food was great, and they had friendly service. However, in the last 6 months there has been a huge decline in their food quality, quanity, and service. We ordered a few weeks ago and when we brought our food home there were no dipping sauces, even though we requested them, and the fries totalled about 10 each for our side dish with our sandwiches. The wings we ordered were half covered in sauce and they wanted to charge for extra sauce (which technically wouldn't be extra since only half the wings had sauce). Then we ordered this past Sunday for the final time. We ordered tater tots with our sandwiches and they were past cooked as they were like little dried up bricks of potato. My mother got the CFC and it was a flattened piece of chicken barely coated with breading. Her mashed potato's were cold and the gravy had powder lumps in them. The final straw was the pork tenerloin that was hard as hockey puck and seemed to be cooked a few days ago and then heated up for our order. It's too bad things have changed because this used to be a fun little whole in the wall bar to hang out at.

Went in to have a few drinks. Only stayed for one. The arrangement of the building made the bar seem crowded with little sitting. The service was slow. Strong drinks though. The best part was talking with the locals, but probably won't go back.

This place is a whole vibe, but I must take a second to talk about the tacos... The half-price Taco Tuesday is a hook! And I'd be the proverbial fish. The burnt end tacos made me happy to be alive, the mushroom tacos gave me confidence that if I ever go vegetarian, I have a tasty option for tacos on Tuesday. 😅 I didn't golf, but like I said the place is a vibe, I like the setup and theme. We went on Sunday and took advantage of their brunch -- food was delicious (perfect French toast for me and sausage poutine for my husband) and it came out fast! The mini golf course is fun and indoors, so weather isn't an issue. The drinks from the bar were great; we really loved that they featured local breweries (shout out to Cinder Block and their pomegranate cider!). We will absolutely be revisiting Craft Putt!

My mom has a gluten allergy and there were many options for her to choose from! She decided on a burger and she loved it, she said the gluten free bun was awesome! They really took the care to note that her items were to be gluten free (you can see a screen of your order being entered and the notes they put on it.) The food came out quick and was just really good. My niece loved the breading on the fried pickles, crispy and not greasy. Staff was very friendly. Comfortable, clean atmosphere. We intended to do a round of mini golf but we ran out time, so I can't speak to that but the food is definitely worth a stop!

came here for a friend’s birthday and the food and drinks were stellar. shared the cheese curds and nachos, and they were both delectable. had to keep ordering the cheese curds, they were so good. drinks were also great. the bartender recommended me the raspberry beer and it was amazing. my friends got the moscow mule and a mojito, and they were also both tasty. our server was nice, especially since she had a lot of people to deal with. kept the cake we brought in the walk-in and gave us utensils and plates for it. had fun playing some putt putt. i guess there was a business party going on there and they were really mean to the other patrons, just in the way and wouldn’t move when asked. not the fault of the business or anything, but it definitely put a damper on the night. other than that, good eats, drinks, and service.

New to the area and was looking for food with entertainment. This place didn’t disappoint! Bartenders were so friendly and service was excellent. We ordered the wings with garlic parm, cooked perfectly and so flavorful. Cheese curds had a unique seasoning and were our favorite, will definitely order these again. Double bogey burger was so juicy, a must try! Golf was fun, challenging and a great time. We will be back.

Minsky's Pizza is a delightful elevated pizzeria chain that offers an impressive array of crust and topping choices, along with classic Italian dishes like spaghetti and cheesesteaks. Located at 13404 College Boulevard in Overland Park, this spot stands out for its quality and service. Guests rave about the attentive staff who are eager to guide you through their extensive menu.
We went to Minsky’s for the very first time to experience their gourmet pizza that we heard so much about on TV! Sophia, our server was so knowledgeable about the wide variety of menu items and she was so attentive and fun to talk with! Austin the bartender was also very helpful and fun! And much to our delight ….we just found out that they have extended their hours to 2:00 am for food and booze through May! Finally a neighborhood restaurant with late night hours to let you linger longer! We’re definitely coming back to take advantage of that new feature!! And a Special “shout out” for the pizza makers who put a lot of love and craftsmanship into our pizza! It was perfect! We’ll be back!!

I love Minsky’s and it is my #1 pizza place. I was craving for their delicious cheesecake. When I went to place an order and take my cheesecake home, I was so disappointed that I paid $5.99 each for a tiny slice of cheesecake. It was usually a bigger slice but this time it was tiny. My churro cheesecake was broken and not a full slice but crumbs. I definitely won’t be ordering their cheesecake for a very long time.

Another awesome Minsky's we good food great staff and cool atmosphere, thanks Zander for a well made mocktail! Yah they have those too!

I really wanted to try the Chicken Spedini pizza but it was made incorrectly and I don't ever ask places to remake stuff because I don't trust an upset employee. I took a screenshot of what I wanted vs what I got. I wanted the green stuff on my pizza as advertised.

For Father’s Day, my girlfriend and I went to Minsky’s and ordered a Joe’s BBQ Z-Man Gourmet Pizza, two salads, and two strawberry margaritas. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the BBQ pizza. Neither of us had tried the pizza before, but we are going back before it disappears. I also LOVE the blue cheese dressing – if you like blue cheese, you should try it too! Our server, Holly, was just as awesome as the food. Thank you for the great Father’s Day!

I think Minsky's is the best pizza in Kansas City. This particular location always does a good job of seating and serving you quickly. The food is high quality and tasty. It can get a little noisy in here on a Friday night, but typically a relaxed dining experience. I recommend the calzone.

I walked into minskys not expecting a lot but boy was I wrong. The service was fantastic I was served by this devilishly handsome waiter with a mustache and mullet who just imbued positive and stellar personality. And the food I mean OMG I was foaming at the mouth from the most amazing food ever.

Shawn was a great server, he was very precise and patient with our orders. Shawn was also checking in with us frequently enough to no be a bother while keeping my drink full. Overall it was a great experience

During a recent anniversary getaway in Kansas City, my husband and I decided to check out Beck's Place, inspired by our son Beckett's name. We were blown away by the food! The Irish Nachos were a standout with their crispy homemade chips, while my wife enjoyed a club sandwich alongside a special smash burger and fries that were hot and fresh. The tater tots? Simply the best we've ever tasted! We're definitely planning to return.
The wife and I went to Beck’s place while on an anniversary weekend in KC. Our son is named Beckett so we thought it would be fun to eat here but holy crap! THE FOOD!!!! We ordered some Irish Nachos and they were amazing! Homemade chips were crispy and delicious. My wife ordered a club sandwich and I ordered the special which was a smash burger and fries. All of it was hot and fresh. The fries were flaky and delicious and the tots were the best tater tots I’ve ever had in my life. We will 1000% return. Our server was awesome, she was very personable and interacted well with all of the people in the place. We were just really impressed with the establishment. Great atmosphere!

Service was friendly but missed part of our order, we ordered an app which was not brought out, so marked down which otherwise would have been a 4. I was really disappointed because I love onion straws. Food was not bad, my brother had the burger with fried egg, the burger was cooked too order but the over easy egg was more like a hard boiled egg yolk, no ooooze at all. The fries were the best part of his plate. I had the chicken fried steak and other than the coating not sticking it was yummy. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the gravy very seasoned. I had a side salad and the ranch was so good, but could have used croutons for some extra crunch. I marked down atmosphere because it was very unprofessional and uncomfortable for us, while trying to enjoy our lunch, too listen to our server and the girl behind the bar very loudly gossiping about fellow co-workers. I feel like I know more about your staff then I really should, from who doesn't show up, who has certain attitudes and who is going home with whom.

Becks Place is great if you're looking for a laid-back bar with friendly staff, good food, and cheap drinks. Don't worry about getting dressed up, just bring your appetite for some of the best comfort food in OP around $15. The pork tenderloin sandwich and chicken fried chicken dinner were fantastic and the well drinks were only $4 each. The mashed potatoes were so good! Seriously, what more could you ask for? We're already making plans on what to order next time and are definitely going to try the carrot cake.

My husband and I and our youngest daughter came to Becks' place for lunch today after our daughter had a dental appointment in KC. We saw pictures on Google maps, and the pictures of the chicken fried steak was what made us want to go here. The setting is similar to a bar or kinda a smaller version of Buffalo wild wings. Our waitress was extremely sweet and accommodating! I loved how sweet she was with our daughter. 🥰 I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans with a biscuit. My husband ordered the friend pork tenderloin sandwich with a side of tatar tots. We ordered grilled cheese for our daughter. My chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy (I also got extra gravy which they thank goodness gave me on top of my steak and potatoes!) I'm so glad they didn't give me a separate dish for my extra gravy.my chicken fried steak was amazing probably the best I've ever had. The buscuit/bread was so fresh and amazing. My husband's pork tenderloin sandwich was the best we've ever eaten. It's it was so fresh and flavorful. Seriously, the best. Our daughter loved the grilled cheese she even ate the crust. She had never eaten the crust before today, but she finished her crust today at Becks' place. They know how to cook and treat their customers right. I highly recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed! Don't fall for nay negative reviews they really do have delicious food here. Thank you, Becks, place for a wonderful meal and time at your establishment!

We love the food (especially the pretzel), the owners, the staff, the drinks, the regulars, and the atmosphere! Our favorite night to visit Beck's is Tuesday for the Mexican Platter, Marga, and Karaoke. If you haven't been to Beck's yet you should definitely check it out!

Popped in to try Beck's Place for a late weekday lunch, first time here since it was McGuire's. Menu features a nice variety of Midwestern bar and grill fare. Beck's Cobb Salad was generous in size and ingredients, and the tater tots were perfectly crisp. Enough food that I actually got a box for leftovers — for a salad! I'd happily come back to try more of the menu, and shout out to Mary Beth for great service. This neighborhood bar has the same dive vibe as McGuire's did. Unfortunately on this trip the space felt a little worn and stale, especially with HVAC probably on the fritz as fans created a welcomed draft in the dining area's warm, stuffy air. At 1pm it was a ghost town with just a couple folks at the bar and another table, but everyone was friendly, and it was calm enough to easily carry a conversation at our table. I hear it picks up in the evening. It doesn't pretend to be anything fancy, and it's not, but it hits a lot of the right high notes for me.
