Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Metropolitan Cathedral–Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady of Valencia is a stunning Gothic-style cathedral that is renowned for housing the Holy Grail. Visitors can also explore the historic Miguelete tower, which offers panoramic views of the city. The cathedral is located in Valencia's city center, making it easily accessible on foot. Nearby attractions include the Plaza de la Reina, the Silk Exchange, and the Modernist Central Market.
Valencia Cathedral – A Place of Power, Peace, and History This is more than just a church — it’s a living piece of history in the heart of the city. Built on the site of a former mosque, the cathedral beautifully blends Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque, and even Moorish elements. Every corner tells a different story. 🔔 Don’t miss the climb to the Miguelete Tower — the panoramic view of Valencia’s old town is absolutely breathtaking. 💎 Inside, you’ll find one of Christianity’s most sacred relics: the Holy Grail, believed by some to be the actual cup used by Jesus during the Last Supper. 🎫 There is an entrance fee, but it’s absolutely worth it — the audio guide, stunning interior, and powerful atmosphere make it unforgettable.
Marianna R — Google review
Breathtaking. That’s the word that lingers after stepping out of Valencia’s Cathedral. Few temples manage to balance grandeur, mystery, and lived history the way this one does. From the moment a visitor crosses its threshold, the space feels alive with centuries of devotion, civic pride, and Mediterranean light. Its architecture is a palimpsest of Valencia itself: Romanesque bones, Gothic ambition, Renaissance discipline, Baroque flourish—each layer revealing a chapter of the city’s identity. The soaring vaults lift the gaze almost instinctively, while the side chapels, rich but never overwhelming, draw you into quieter stories of art, faith, and patronage. And then there’s the Holy Chalice chapel, a place where symbolism and narrative converge so powerfully that even the skeptical pause. Climbing the Miguelete tower rewards anyone willing to take on the spiral steps: the view is a gift—Valencia unfolding in every direction, its rooftops, plazas, and coastline stitched together by sunlight. In all, this cathedral isn’t just beautiful; it’s meaningful. It’s one of the most remarkable cathedrals a traveler can encounter, a space that manages to be both monumental and deeply human.

Great touristic attraction, well organized by self touring headsets, no need to join groups or guides. Prices are very reasonable and they have offers for families. The facility is accessible for wheelchairs including the museum inside the cathedral.
Faris K — Google review
Both a house of God and a home to some of the finest religious art in the world. I'd recommend getting the audio guide tour, which was both informative and very easy to follow. I am now convinced that the Holy Grail is indeed real, and located in Valencia Cathedral. Definitely take the extra trip up the tower (accessible after you exit) for amazing views over the city.
TeamMorden — Google review
What a magnificent cathedral! Even from the outside, it makes a phenomenal impression. Think it's just the facade? Try walking around it; it looks like the cathedral encompasses half the city. A huge, magnificent building, so beautiful inside that it takes your breath away. The entire interior is simple, and the altar is fantastically rich. An undeniable highlight is the audio guide, which is free with the Valencia card. Inside the cathedral is the entrance to the museum, which is multi-story, grand, and contains numerous artifacts, especially the Holy Grail.

🏆⛪ A Cathedral with a Real Treasure The Cathedral is a history book written in stone. Although the current structure was built after the Christian Reconquista, underground you will find traces of great civilizations: fragments of an old Roman wall and relics of the Moorish era (the cathedral stands directly on the foundations of a former mosque). This monumental building, expanded over centuries, hides something even more valuable than architecture. The side chapel houses what is most likely "the" Holy Grail. Its history is like a movie script: sent across the Mediterranean to Spain for protection against the Romans, hidden from the Moors by monks in a mountain monastery, it finally ended up with the King of Aragon. And how did it get here? King Alfonso V pledged it as collateral for a huge loan... which he never repaid! So, the Cathedral seized the collateral. And that is how a story of a bad debt gave us access to one of Christianity's greatest relics right here in this cathedral. 🤯 Practical tips: 👁️ Views: Entrance to the "El Miguelete" tower is paid separately, but if you don't mind climbing 207 stairs, the panoramic view is a must. 🗺️ OUR COSTA BLANCA TREASURE LIST: This cathedral was the crown jewel of our trip. If you are planning to visit the region, here is the list of places we visited and reviewed (look for my reviews on the map!): 🏰 Guadalest: Castle in the rock & azure lake. 💦 Algar Waterfalls: Refreshing nature. 🏘️ Costa Blanca Trio: Colorful Villajoyosa, white Altea & Benidorm skyscrapers. 🥘 Valencia: Oceanogràfic & the atmospheric Old Town. 🎯 ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES: 🐎 Horse Riding: An amazing ride on the dunes with Jess Pony Express in Guardamar (great for advanced riders too!). 🏎️ Quads: Adrenaline at the lake with Costa Blanca Quad Tours.

Beautiful 2025 Jubilee Cathedral. I love going Holy Mass here every time I visit Valencia. The cathedral has impressive architecture and beautiful works of art. It is breathtaking and not to mention the Holy Chalice Chapel (which I have seen in previous visits). Holy Mass, celebrated by the bishop, was amazing and there were so many people attending from different parts of the world. This Sunday The Holy Chalice Chapel was not open for visitors and the small shop was shut also. However, there was access to the Cathedral Tower, from where you can have a panoramic view of Valencia. A wonderful sacred place to visit with so much beautiful art.

Beautiful architecture, big museum inside. I wish it was written more info in english. I don't understand why you let people beg at the door of the cathedral, it's not nice for anyone! We couldn't get tickets online, there was a big queue at the entrance.

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Bioparc Valencia is a unique zoo that houses nearly a thousand animals from 150 different African species. The park features specially designed habitats to ensure the well-being and comfort of the animals, offering visitors an immersive experience in various natural habitats. From vast savannas to dense forests, visitors can observe antelopes, giraffes, rhinoceroses, hyenas, buffaloes, leopards, gorillas, and elephants in recreated wild environments.
This is by far the best zoo I’ve visited in a long time! The viewing experience is excellent. Every animal can be seen clearly from multiple angles, and the enclosures are beautifully designed. One small improvement would be to include more animals and represent more regions. Overall, an amazing experience!
Hussain R — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting this zoo! The place is huge and very well kept, with an amazing variety of animals — including some really rare and beautiful species. You can tell the animals are well cared for, and the enclosures are clean and spacious. The only downside is the ticket price — it’s a bit expensive, especially for families. But overall, it’s a great place to spend a few hours, relax, and see lots of incredible animals. Definitely worth visiting!
Артур — Google review
One of the nicest zoos we ever visited. Even though it might look small, we spent great day there. Great variety of animals, the hippo feeding was amazing to see. The animals seem happy and very well cared for. In comparison with other zoos is this one alot of them share the space (like giraffes, ostriches, goats, birds) which gives a much more natural feeling, no cages, no minuscule enclosures. We were just in time for the "Circle of life" show where birds were flying around the arena which was very cool. Only downside was that some people were smoking even if its prohibited Even the restaurant has an amazing view to the animal enclosures. Overall great experience, even though a bit pricey it's definitely worth.

Amazing bioparc! Spent a day here while traveling in Valencia and so glad i did. Wonderfully laid out, not too busy, and great keeper talks given in spanish, catalan and english in the different areas of the park. Enjoyed the lunch meal deal in the cafeteria as well, great traditional paella for the cost.
Lexie P — Google review
Fantastic experience for everyone who want to enjoy a day (takes more than a couple of hours for a decent tour) with animals. I like that it's not you classic (and sad) Zoo, here animals have a good amount of space and are nourished and looked after. There is great variety and there are multiple places where you can rest and relax. The ticket price is not cheap, but it's something you can expect to keep those animals in the best possible conditions.
Fabrizio D — Google review
I'm thrilled with this biopark! The animals are cage-free, in conditions that are close to real life. There are waterfalls, ponds, lots of trees and grass, and rock formations. The animals are clean, well-fed, and look healthy and calm. The animals live as if on islands that you can walk around on all sides. I've never seen anything like this with the opportunity to see wild animals so close. Any zoo is still captivity, but this the best that can be in such conditions. The staff is friendly and professional, and there are tours available. I was especially impressed by the area with the lemurs, who just run around next to you, without cages. Elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions, a leopard, turtles, monkeys, many large and small animals, and birds. We wish the biopark prosperity and healthy visitors.
Мария В — Google review
So much fun! Only £25 each for adults. Purchased online the day before and didn’t have to line up like the rest. Able to just walk in. The enclosures were so nicely done, clean and the animals appeared well looked after. Would recommend the hippo feeding which is free to watch. The bird show is something I wouldn’t rave about and if you’re short on time give it a miss. Otherwise so fun. They have an open enclosure where the lemurs reside.

Very interesting walk-through zoo. Quite easy to reach by bus. Can easily spend a good three quarters of a day walking through and having fun with family. In order to enter it is recommended that you buy the tickets online before, otherwise you will end up waiting for half an hour to three quarters of an hour. The issue was not the long queue as much as disorganisation by the personnel selling / scanning tickets. They could have done a lot more and faster if they opened one or two more selling stations and organised the queues a bit more (people were skipping queue and it was not nice!). Zoo is recommended for families of all ages but especially for children. If you go do not miss the AR underwater experience. It is a must for circa Euro 5 (each person). Quite original and good. The only downside was the buying of slushy drinks from the park (actaully from all over Valencia!). You had to buy a refillable cup. Whilst I understand this option to reduce plastic waste, the probability is that you cannot keep on going around Valencia with the cup to refill each time and this custom of selling slushy with cup seems to be all over the city. So you either buy a cup each time (which is not environmentally and financially friendly) or opt for another drink. The rest was all positive and very recommended. The souvenir shop was ok but could do with a good upgrade of original products to sell.

Historical place
Sights & Landmarks
La Lonja de la Seda de Valencia, also known as the Silk Exchange, is a grandiose building that showcases the city's Medieval wealth through intricate stonework and carvings. It was once a symbol of Valencia's power during its economic boom in the 14th to 16th centuries due to silk production. The Merchant's Hall within the building is considered a magnificent jewel with its unique design featuring columns resembling palm trees and a ceiling meant to evoke a starry sky.
A beautiful UNESCO world heritage site in the centre of València. Very helpful staff and considering its UNESCO - there was no queues and no waiting times. We were given the option of an audio guide which we took. Very easy audio equipment to use, including the map, which directs you from around the building and even brings you on the outside of the building too! Would definitely recommend to spend an hour here.
Josh M — Google review
A fascinating structure and unique interior architecture especially the columns in the main hall that support the floor. The ancient trading place mainly for the Silk trading auction and meetings is a great place to visit. The courtyard houses rare plants and orange trees with with seating to relax and enjoy the view.
Mas — Google review
Stunning architecture! La Lonja is more than just a pretty building… its architecture and internal design reflect its commercial, juridical, and symbolic roles. It is a monumental civil (i.e. non-religious) Gothic building in the old city of Valencia. It was built between 1482 and 1533, though parts (or phases) extended a bit later. It was also declared a “Monumento Nacional” in 1931 and later (in 1996) a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its primary historical purpose was as a place of commerce and trading • especially for silk (hence the name) • but also more broadly as a mercantile and legal hub. It is a superb example of late Valencian Gothic (sometimes also called “Valencian Gothic” or “Flamboyant Gothic” in its details) in a secular building. Many internal columns are twisted / helical stone pillars (roughly 16 m tall), giving an effect sometimes likened to “ropes” or “palms.” One stronger and better-documented connection is via Luis de Santángel, a financier from Valencia. According to historical accounts, Santángel (a converso, i.e. Jewish origin turned Christian) helped to underwrite or facilitate funding for Columbus’s voyage to the Americas under the Catholic Monarchs. Because of Santángel’s support and his merchant / banking role in Valencia, some have suggested indirect connections between Valencia’s mercantile circles (like those centered around La Lonja) and the expedition. (But this does not mean Columbus worked in or used the Lonja.) Some fringe or minority theories propose that Columbus came from Valencia (or from a family of silk merchants in Valencia) rather than the more traditional view that he was from Genoa (Italy). For example, in a recent documentary and some forensic / DNA-based speculation, it has been claimed that Columbus might have been from a Jewish silk-weaving family in Valencia, and that he concealed his origin to avoid persecution under the Inquisition. However, many historians and geneticists remain skeptical of these claims, finding them insufficiently substantiated. Because construction of La Lonja began circa 1482–1483, while Columbus’s first voyage began in 1492, there is a temporal overlap: the new mercantile institutions and architectural expressions in Valencia were rising just as the Atlantic era began. Some narratives point out this coincidence, suggesting that Valencia was a rising trade power in the same era Columbus sailed.
Sasho K — Google review
The entry fee was a very reasonable €2 per person. You can also rent an audio tour for an additional €2.5. We saw the amazing architecture that was ahead of its time and the stunning columns and ornate details around the building. The included video presentation was worth the watch to gain a deeper understanding of the history of the building. There was a small line outside when we arrived, but it moved quickly and we were admitted to buy our tickets shortly and explored the building on our own.
Terence L — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful historic building! La Lonja de la Seda is a stunning example of Gothic architecture and a must-see in Valencia. The twisting columns and vaulted ceilings are incredible, and the courtyard with orange trees is peaceful and charming. It’s well-preserved, easy to visit, and gives a real sense of the city’s rich history. Highly recommended!

Place was ok for about 10 minutes, however we found English audio guide boring and overcomplicated. This adds to the fact that the 4 rooms that you could enter were completely empty. We, as a group, have been to other Spanish buildings that were not only bigger but more interesting with the same price. This led to us being quite disappointed with our experience. My advice is to see for yourself without the audioguide for 15 minutes and possibly visit the central market afterwards.
Bertie W — Google review
We did our own self-guided tour with the audio phones and walked around it was great it was late October a little busy but not super crowded. So amazing and beautiful historical place to visit.
Jeff R — Google review
There's not much to say. It's a magnificent building with a history that's a must-see. Free admission with the Valencia Card. You can also purchase an audio guide, but I'm not sure it's worth it, as several rooms feature a film with English subtitles that outlines the building's history, its use, its architecture, and, for example, the history and significance of the spectacular ceiling. It's truly worth a visit.

Fresh food market
Sights & Landmarks
The Mercat Central de València is a vibrant and historic market housed in a stunning Modernista building adorned with colorful tiles. It is one of the oldest food markets in Europe, offering an authentic glimpse into daily life in Valencia. The market boasts a diverse collection of stalls, each separated by type, where locals shop for regional produce such as live eels, various prawn varieties, and giant hams.
This is a spectacular market situated right in the centre of town offering food, fruits, meats, dried fruits & nuts and lot more especially the various varieties of freshly cooked Paella! The place is very clean, well looked after and well managed.

So much food to discover and eat. Wine, croquettes, empanadas, sandwiches, paellas but also a lot of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. It is a delight to walk around and immersive yourself of what this foodhall has to offer.

Great experience inside the market. Lots of options to eat. Some great economic options to try paella. Unfortunately there isn't any place to sit down and eat, but that's part of the experience I guess. A definite must see on your trip to València. Try the cheesecake and have a coffee right outside to start off your day

The Central Market in Valencia is absolutely incredible. The building itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture and a vibrant, bustling atmosphere. Inside, the variety is endless fresh produce, spices, cheeses, baked goods, and so much more. It’s a feast for the senses, with colors, aromas, and flavors everywhere you turn. The vendors are friendly and passionate about their products, and it’s the perfect place to sample local specialties or pick up something unique. Whether you’re shopping, snacking, or just exploring, this market is a must-see in Valencia. Truly one of the highlights of the city.

Incredible market with absolutely everything you’d need to create a beautiful meal. Everything was fresh and the market is very clean. Bought a few baked goods and they did not disappoint! Absolutely amazing!
Jade B — Google review
Nice place to roam and get inspired. But nothing was calling me. I am pure veg so didn't get attracted to most of the stalls. Smell was also really strong that day. But it's nice to know that the building is having it since 100 years going on as a tradition
Ria — Google review
Very nice food market. Lots of food is repeated, but you still get a lot of variety. Much of the food is very overpriced, but I guess that's what you get at a touristy place. All the food looks nice, but I'm not sure if the quality is actually that good. Comes with parking, which is good.
Martina ( — Google review
100% worth visiting. This market is incredible. The building itself beautiful, but just to walk up and find every aisle immersing yourself in local fresh produce is a real experience. It does not feel too touristy in my opinion as you are surrounded by locals doing their daily shop. It does get busy, so go early (maybe that’s why I didn’t find it too touristy) - I loved popping by here daily

The Serranos Towers, an imposing pair of Gothic-style towers, are remnants of Valencia's ancient city walls. Originally built for defense, they now offer panoramic views of the city and the river. The surrounding area is perfect for exploring on foot, with attractions like Plaza de la Reina, the Cathedral and Miguelete tower offering beautiful vistas after climbing 207 steps.
This castle and place was electric and historic. Beautiful castle that you can walk through like a tunnel. There was a festival today with music, costumes and dancing. 5 star place

Even though it was cloudy day, we decided to check out this place. Figured it won’t be too hot even if we climbed the 132 steps. I lost count after 50. The views are great but the area is narrow. There was a school trip so it got crowded at times. It got steeper and the stairs narrower as we got to the top. Definitely started to feel vertigo and had to get back on solid ground after a bit.
Kay B — Google review
So you have to buy a two euro ticket to go to the top it’s not for unfit people. There’s a lot of steps that you have to climb to get the top and as you can see from the photos, the view at the top is awesome. And if you wanna take a picture of yourself, etc., it makes a really good viewpoint. You’ll see from all the photos and the videos I’ve took it. Is it well worth visiting in my opinion
Travel L — Google review
Awesome gothic towers. Tickets to go up are very fair, €2 per person. It's 132 stairs to the top, and more if you want to stop on both sides for the views but definitely worth it!
Brandon L — Google review
What is not to like about this historical monument? It is very tall and it's peak gives a good view of the sprawling city below. Tickets are 2€ but it's free on Sundays and you can enter for FREE on any day if you have the Valencia Tourist Card (VLC). Be warned there are some steep and large steps to climb before you reach the peak.

La Pepica is a historic restaurant with over 120 years of success, renowned for its delicious seafood and vegetable paellas. Situated on the promenade of Valencia's city beach, it offers stunning sea views from its terrace. The restaurant prides itself on welcoming guests like family and provides menus for groups and children to ensure everyone enjoys the best Mediterranean recipes.
This is the second time we have been to this restaurant, and the food is no doubt Valencian. We arrived a little early for “comida” (The third meal of the day) and we were seated right away. The wait staff, “Alex” was very accommodating and friendly. Very attentive. He answered all our queries and recommended good wine selection based on our orders. He was efficient and the food came at a relaxing pace. We ordered the anchovies with crushed tomatoes, toasted pan with butter and crushed tomatoes, Paella Valencia (presented in a big paella pan and served table side), grilled scallops, steamed dorado served de-boned and so delicately seasoned. (I dove into the fish and got the head) What an amazing dish. The crema mediterranea is the perfect dessert to end the meal. With Albariño, cava and sangria, we had a great toast to good times and friendship. The experience we had here was memorable and we will definitely return again. Muchas gracias Alex!

There’s something special about dining in a restaurant that has stood the test of time for well over a century, and this seaside establishment certainly carries that charm. The setting is beautiful—just steps from the beach, with a timeless atmosphere that makes you appreciate its long history. The meal itself was a mix of highlights and lighter notes. The calamari leaned a touch over-fried, and while the squid ink paella carried good flavor, we found ourselves wishing for a bit more of the seafood that usually makes this dish shine. On the other hand, the steak was excellent—perfectly prepared and enjoyed by both adults and kids alike. Overall, it was a memorable experience to step into a place with so much heritage, enjoy the views, and savor a meal where the setting plays as much a role as the food. A lovely spot to try at least once, especially for its history and location.

I know why La Pepica has been in business since 1898. The seafood paella was absolutely delicious - as you can see we scraped the pan clean! Nice view of the beachfront and chilled atmosphere. Reservations are a must- the place was packed we went on a Monday afternoon not even on a weekend. The service was unfortunately really slow, we waited a good 45-55minutes for our paella but do keep in mind they make it fresh from scratch- so ultimately worth the wait. When ordering, keep in mind they charge the price per person for the paella - don’t be shocked. 17,90€ per person for the seafood one. Enjoy!

Wonderful experice in this historical restaurant. We reserved the terrace which was great. Good vibe, big restaurant with many pictures from the past on the wall. The service was excellent, friendly and we enjoyed the paella along other dishes. For sure a good place to dine to become part of the history of this legendary place. Lunch time is great as we can enjoy the view ofcthe huge beach.

I had the best shrimps in my life at this place! We ordered it two times in a row (i should have eaten more of it). It was also not expensive at all! Great place directly at the beach. We just had no luck with the weather.. the whole week it was raining (march 2025). But anyways, i highly recommend this place if you visit Valencia!

The food was absolutely delicious. This restaurant has so much history and culture importance that it is a must if you are coming to Valencia. Being a tourist means you sometimes have to embrace the classic spots, the ones everyone talks about. La Pepica is one of those places, and for good reason. We were served by Ramon, a pleasant and attentive chap who made the experience all the more enjoyable. The food was excellent, every dish was spot-on and the location, right by the port, couldn’t be better. What’s not to enjoy? Make sure you book to avoid disappointment.

The place looks packed and I’m thinking the food must be good. Unfortunately I can’t say I’m impressed. Ordered New York steak, cod, calamari and side salad. New York steak is a bit dry and not a lot of eatable meat, fries came with the steak is not very tasty, probably from a freezer bag. Cod is small portion, side salad is ok but the lettuce is not fresh, I can see the redness on each lettuce. Overall, over priced tourist experience. A glass of sangria is 8 euro, for the last 2 weeks in Spain, it’s 3-4 euro. Won’t be coming here again.

Casa Montaña is a historic tavern located in the Cabanyal district of Valencia, dating back to 1836. The charming space, once a sailors' tavern, exudes romantic vibes with its oak wine barrels, art nouveau tiles, and antique bullfighting posters. This hidden gem attracts locals and tourists alike for its refined tapas and extensive wine selection.
We didn’t have a reservation, but luck was on our side—we were offered a hidden private room for our group of four! It gave us such a cozy, exclusive dining experience. (A slightly stronger A/C would have made it perfect.) We chose two tasting menus and added a few extras, and every dish that came out—though small in portion—was beautifully crafted and full of flavor. The sheer variety was impressive, and every single item was excellent. The service throughout the evening was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had a truly wonderful evening and left with full hearts and happy taste buds. Highly recommended!

It’s a rare thing to find a place that has become very touristy and still maintains very high quality food and service. We had excellent solomillo (steak bits) and chorizo and leeks. And the bread was outstanding. It came with their house olive oil … also wonderful. And the house red wine was delicious. Definitely a place we will go back to often.

We visited for lunch at 1pm, I had read that the restaurant is very popular so had booked a few weeks earlier. Esa was so friendly and helpful with her explanation of the menu and helped us to choose our wine and dishes. Standout dishes were the tomato salad (so simple but great!), the fresh bread, the chorizo in cider and the steak. We also loved the hazelnut almond dessert. Wish we could have returned!

My two friends and I were there. I ordered the vegan set menu, while my friends ordered the 1836 tasting menu and the chef’s menu. The dishes were brought out one after another. My friends were satisfied with their meals, but mine was a joke. I got some tomatoes with just olive oil, as well as several paprika-based dishes. For the main course, I was given a few slices of pepper, a slice of tomato, two slices of eggplant, and an onion—exactly like in the picture. I don’t think they should offer a vegan menu at all. I felt like they were making fun of me. I received three paprika dishes in a row. They also brought us the wrong dessert, and the service was just okay. We waited a bit between dishes, which was fine, but then we were suddenly told we only had five minutes left to finish eating, even though we hadn’t even received everything we ordered by that point. Right before we paid, we heard the waitress ask another table how they wanted their meat cooked, while we were simply served whatever they decided without asking. I felt like they didn’t take us seriously. Overall, I’m pretty disappointed with this place. I paid €39 for a few tomatoes and peppers in Spain—ingredients I could have bought in better quality at the supermarket. Normally I don’t write reviews, but I had to write one for this.

The restaurant was absolutely amazing. We had the 1936 Plus menu and it was truly outstanding. The food was incredibly delicious, the service was genuinely friendly, and the value for money was exceptional. I would 100% recommend it without hesitation — especially the 1936 Plus menu!!

Amazing tapas this place deserves its Michelin awards. I didnt have reservation so I sit on the bar and eat 5 different tapas. All of them was great. Wine is also great. A must visit in Valencia.

Ricard Camarena Restaurant, located in Bombas Gens in Valencia since 2017, offers an exceptional culinary experience. Chef Ricard Camarena's journey from his hometown to earning his first Michelin star has shaped his elegant and seasonal Mediterranean dishes. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the restaurant has adapted by moving its service to the garden terrace of the Art Deco building housing the Bombas Gens Art Centre.
A true farm-to-fork experience! This culinary experience will walk you through how they grow, preserve and cook their food to perfection. After traveling around in Spain for a few days, I come across a place that gives importance to fresh produce and presenting them well in each course. Also one of the few Michelin star restaurants that have a vegetarian tasting menu. Service was excellent and they made sure that we enjoy every bite. The staff was also able to answer all our questions. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and brought us some good selection. We were also taken to a chefs table where the chef was able to talk about using Carob for preserving tuna, etc. The croissant-sourdough hybrid was unbelievable! Some of the dishes were quite adventurous pushing you out of your comfort zone, but isn’t that the point of a chefs tasting menu? It was very fun.

Warning 😊 You either will like this place or you won’t! Vegetarian oriented cuisine but will add seafood creations into it. Gets a 5 star for presentation! If you like beef this place most likely will not get you excited. I gave all 5 for creativeness and presentation. As for taste buds satisfaction it gets a much less stars.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The attention to detail is as expected from a 2-Star-Michelin cuisine. It was an excellent mix between meats/fish and vegetables. For me the highlight however (apart from the food) was the non-alcoholic/non-wine accompaniment. This mix of drinks of their own produce was an excellent pairing to their food and rounded up this immersive local culinary experience. Kudos to the chef, kitchen and service staff! We had a great experience and are looking forward to our next visit!

This restaurant is no secret. But take my word for it - I’ve eaten at over few hundred different 1-3 star restaurants all over the world and this was my top 3-5 experience. There’s 2/3 stars and then there’s Ricard Camarena. Easily one of the best restaurants in the world and the best in Valencia if you’re looking to be impressed. This is what 3 Michelin experience should be! Forget just technique, there’s insane flavour in every part of the menu. The food philosophy is extremely clean and with great attention to QUALITY of ingredients especially the veg. Everyone throws “farm to table” and “locally sourced” buzzwords around but few actually deliver that via flavour and love in preparation to the plate. Ricard Camarena does. Their cured tuna station is one of the most impressive taste experiences I’ve ever had in my life. MUST visit! Also we found it more than than reasonably priced for the standard of food. The desserts strike a balance between not to sweet and perfection. Petit fours were not as sensational but lovely none the less to finish the meal. The dining room is stunning, service is knowledgeable and attentive. My only advice to the restaurant would be to never forget the love that inspired Ricard Camarena and maintain that throughout the evolution of the menu in the future. Must visit for any seasoned foodie!

I don’t know if there is anything that I can say that hasn’t been said before. I have dined at many Michelin star restaurants and this is amongst the very very best. Exquisite. Very close to perfection.

This is one of the best culinary experiences I have had. The food is amazing. I am still thinking about the Roasted onions… also fascinated by the oyster and hake with artichokes and blue lobster. Loved the open kitchen, especially as a chef.

Really like this experience. Perfect service and atmosphere. Interesting menu, some positions are not for everyone tastes, but definitely unusual and worth to try. Recommend to visit this and other places this Chef

First time I press five stars in all aspects in a restaurant; this deserves it. The place is breathtaking, placed inside the Bombas Gen building, the decoration, the furniture and the space among the tables make feel you easy and comfortable. The staff, including Ricard, is extremely friendly and professional, one point more to comfortability; and when you start to taste the dishes offered, you really feel the sensation that the money you have to pay (not a few €) is totally fair. The textures, the presentation, and mainly, the originality in aromas and flavours is inexpectedly good. I'm not gonna describe each plate of the menu, because the surprise is another pleasant element of the enjoyable experience. To finish, undoubtedly expensive, though you have to make this trip at least once in your life.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurante El Poblet, located in the heart of Valencia and led by renowned chef Quique Dacosta, offers an elegant dining experience with market-based tasting menus and wine pairings. Chef Luis Valls brings a modern and bold approach to Valencian cuisine, highlighting local products in innovative ways while embracing sustainability and proximity to the sea and nearby orchards.
Great experience of a new interpreted classic valencian flavors. Great technique, good wine selection by Hernan, who even adequately changed the maridaje to the drinking pace of my girlfriend. The plates were intense in good flavors and also very balanced. My favourite dishes were the Sepia y Calabaza with the (most amazing) caldo that the service team was pouring onto the when served. Such an aromatic harmony of savouriness, aromatics, sweetness and acidity. Would go again only for that. Other favourites: Pato in two courses. The Guiso very earthy and innovative with the way the peanuts were altered through technique and also the esfericos made from rillete were contributing a lot to the depth of the dish. The Pato madurado was simplicity at its best for me. Texture and flavour altered by the Koji were simply working really well on the plate. Desserts: Cool idea with the torrija. Sacher was a cool balance of texture and flavors (ice cream simply delicious) Great experience, thank you!

An incredible experience at El Poblet! I want to sincerely thank the entire staff for their warm welcome and impeccable service. Every detail was carefully thought out — from the table setting to the presentation of each dish. The atmosphere was elegant yet very comfortable. The cuisine is true artistry! Every dish was not only delicious but also visually stunning. It’s clear that real professionals work here, putting heart and soul into every element. El Poblet is a place you’ll want to return to. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who values top-level gastronomy and exceptional service!

Interesting experience, for us, Belgians, new tastes we're not used to. Strong traditionele flavours. Wine pairing was excellent.

I had the pleasure of dining at El Poblet in Valencia, and the experience was absolutely outstanding. From the very beginning, the team made sure everything was perfect, especially taking extra care with my food allergy by offering alternative dishes without compromising on creativity or flavor. Both the front of house and the kitchen were highly professional and welcoming, making us feel well looked after throughout the evening. We chose the largest tasting menu, and it was truly worth it – every course was beautifully crafted, balanced, and full of personality. El Poblet fully deserves its 2 Michelin stars, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable fine dining experience in Valencia. Flavio de Stefano - Chef @ Bakery de Stefano

We had a unique experience at El Poblet while visiting Spain. The food was innovative and paid great tribute to the local food in Valencia with a great and elevated twist. We had the most extensive tasting menu and it did not disappoint. We highly recommend the restaurant if you are looking to try high end cuisine in Valencia.

El Poblet was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant feels elegant and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. They explained each course in a clear friendly way, the ambience was very peaceful. We tried the tasting menu, and every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. What stood out most was how they used local Valencian flavors but gave them a modern twist. The wine pairing worked really well too, we tried some unique spanish wines for first time. The pace of the dinner was comfortable, and we never felt rushed.

For me, and it is important to highlight that, it is more a 3.5 stars. The good, service is excellent!!! All the staff spoked perfect English, we had a very interested explanation of the dish prior been served. The waiters floated around us impeccably, probably the best I've even seen, without ever been noticed, and yet not once we had to call for them. The staff also seemed genuine about how we felt about the dinning experience. So for service and the staff, a big 5. The not so good The atmosphere..., funny enough, I would say it is in harmony with the food. Unfortunately neither I enjoyed. So as I've said earlier, "for me" The restaurant lacks some peps, to be more vibrant, this is the beautiful city of valencia, I wanted to see some colors, a little extravagance, I could have been in the US, Australia, London or dubai, it would have been the same, sad and boring place. For the food, it had a bitterness taste throughout the 8 courses; it may be to the liking of some, but it didn't work for me. Each creations were well presented, but as the restaurant, lacked colors and that little something extra, like the amuse bouche. Even thought we skipped many dishes, the food was plentiful, the olive oil was divine, and the timing perfect. On a final note, my friend ended up in the emergency that night, with what appeared to be some kind of gastroenteritis. I myself didn't feel that great that same night. Was it the food or something else? I am not expert and 2 other guests appeared to be ok, so my notation doesn't take this in consideration. Conclusion, I had better enjoyments in lesser or no stars restaurants.

I almost cancelled our reservation based on some recent reviews; really glad I didn’t. This is our best meal in Spain so far. The dishes were novel, creative, and overall quite good. The wine pairing was almost as good with only a few misses. Definitely worth a visit to try the full tasting menu and wine pairing. Keep an open mind and hopefully you’ll enjoy the culinary journey as much as we did. Cheers.

Valencian restaurant
Casa Carmela is a long-standing restaurant in Valencia known for serving traditional Valencian paella and seafood rice dishes since 1922. The establishment follows age-old instructions to create a thin layer of rice with an authentic smoky flavor, using only orange wood and fresh local ingredients. Located near Playa de la Malvarrosa, the restaurant offers a privileged dining experience by the sea.
A truly lovely local experience! This was the best Paella 🥘 I’ve ever had, cooked traditionally over a bonfire. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, and the service was professional and welcoming. We started with a fresh salad and crispy calamari—both delicious. The traditional Paella was definitely the right choice, especially compared to so many other places in Valencia. Pre-booking is highly recommended, as locals also suggested. The décor creates a great vibe, and despite being busy, everything was spotless—hygiene standards were excellent, including the toilets. As a tourist, I also loved being able to watch the Paella cooking process, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Valencia!

Its one of the best restaurants in Valencia. But its very busy, reservations are recommended. They also close early at 16:00. We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar are, there no paella is available. They say they have the best ones. We had riso bolito and it was ok. Not like paella. Everything was delicious. Staff was kind and attentive. Its located by the beach , far from the center.

The food is top notch, everything fresh. Of course the Paella is the key dish to go for and the seafood one did not disappoint. We were surprised by the fried sardines and the sepionete. Amazing!portions are good and service is really friendly although servers might be overstretched. Desserts are just ok. Very traditional interior with a beautiful oceanfront location.

The Restaurant was in an amazing part of Valencia's seaside. The premises were impeccable, clean and amazingly decorated. All the service was well organised: despite lots of people checking in at the same time (lots of people waiting out of the door before the opening time, 1 pm), we were immediately served. We opted for the Tasting Menu, and we didn't regret it. We ate paella at other places in Valencia, but this was definitely the best.
Sali U — Google review
It’s a nice restaurant, but is very hyped and thus always packed. For that reason, some of the reviews that mention a “paella factory” vibe are correct. However most paella places near the beach are also like that. The paella is flavorful; they have an extensive wine list and there is a bar area that can seat walk-ins when they are not too busy. They do have a €50 euro pp minimum, so it is certainly a pricey option for Valencia. And, I do believe that there are comparable paella restaurants in Valencia that are just as good and less expensive. The location right off the beach is great. The wood-fired paella has a nice flavor and it’s fun to watch them make it. If you can ask for seats in the primary dining room, it would be recommended.

If by any chance you’re around do go to Casa Carmela. As a single client I’ve been nicely welcomed. Indeed you cannot have a paella for 1 but Valencia it’s not only paella 😊 My grilled fish and vegetables where just perfect. And talking about the dessert tarta manzana con turron helado recomanded by the waitress… speechless😋😋 🙏🙏

This place is very famous, we had a wonderful stay there. The food is amazing, and the atmosphere too. The place is famous for the Paella, it’s a must over here. Also the other dishes and the sweets are nice. It’s very recommended!

I got the tasting menu, and each dish was prepared well. The seafood in each part of the meal was fresh. I didn't order the paella valenciana beforehand, but you can do so! Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant is a short distance from the beach too!
