Piazza della Loggia is located in the heart of Brescia's historic center and is surrounded by impressive Renaissance buildings, including a 1500s clocktower. The square features buildings that once housed the prisons of Monte Vecchio di Pieta and Monte Nuovo di Pieta, with an austere curtain in white marble and ancient Roman tombstones incorporated into the masonry. Adjacent to the square is the beautiful Piazza Loggia, known for a tragic terrorist attack in 1974.
nice square. very clean. Built in the 15th century in the midst of the Renaissance, Piazza della Loggia immediately became the beating heart of the city of Brescia.

What a great mix of old and... older. A lovely piazza, and we lucked into ordering lunch at Caffè della Stampa, which was delicious.

Concerts & Shows
Nestled south of the Duomo on the bustling Corso Zanardelli, Teatro Grande is an 18th-century treasure that captivates visitors with its rich cultural offerings. This stunning venue hosts a variety of performances, including concerts, ballet, opera, and drama throughout the year. The auditorium itself is a sight to behold, featuring a deep-coffered ceiling adorned with gold accents and plush red boxes that create an opulent atmosphere.
Today, I got the chance to spend an hour in the cafe at Teatro Grande, and boy, was it an experience! The genuinely helpful and kind Cristian at the booking office of Teatro Grande helped me get a seat at a jazz performance at the cafe. Martha, the young lady who served drinks at the cafe was very pleasant and efficient. She took care of my vegetarian preference for snacks without any problems. I learnt from her that she is a full time student and also works part time at the cafe. The trio of jazz artists was good, and I especially liked the performance of the tenor saxophonist. On Saturday, 30th November, I got the opportunity to attend a concert at this most beautiful venue, Teatro Grande. This centuries old historic theater is truly grand, and the concert was, fittingly, impressive. The amazingly good performers were all drawn from Brescia, and the instruments they played were made with wood recovered from boats that refugees from Libya came on to the shores of Italy. To further add to the emotional impact of this concert, these instruments are made by prison inmates in Milan who are on the path to rehabilitation. Indeed a fantastic all-around experience!

I loved the atmosphere and interior! When you have a cup of coffee there- you just don’t want to leave this magic place! Try it!!!
Natalia M — Google review
Super cool theater, from what we got to see just in the entry and caffe shop. We weren't there for a performance so the experience was limited, but certainly very grand! Great stop for a coffee in a spectacular environment if you are not going to catch a performance. Only wish is they would let you at least see what's in the "main event" stage area and the layers balcony boxes and seats....

if you’re in Brescia for the weekend pop-in the cafe at Teatro Grande for a morning coffee or afternoon aperitivo. you’ll be astonished by the grand room where the cafe is located, embellished by affrescos and gilded details all around.

The Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo is a small museum located in a historic sixteenth-century building, showcasing an impressive collection of paintings and applied art objects from the 13th to 18th centuries. The exhibition features works by renowned Renaissance masters such as Raphael, Vincenzo Foppa, Romanino, and Girolamo Savoldo. Visitors can also admire a sculpture by Canova and two monumental paintings by Francesco Hayez.
Very impressive exhibit, looks like Italian renaissance artists spared no color on their work! It is not very big, in an hour and a half you can walk around it and not be tired. One of the rooms is devoted to Raphael's works which is definitely worth to see
GG — Google review
To be honest I’m not a huge fan of endless galleries where you can see tens of similar artworks, which is why this one was ideal for me. The gallery is organised really well, with just a few artworks in each room. There are explanations of the art inspiration and times they were created at the beginning each room, which is interesting as it adds basic understanding of the works you’re looking at. The artworks are impressive and the way they are exhibited in the different coloured rooms adds grandeur and nice taste to the whole museum. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Mateusz O — Google review
First in the gallery and had it mostly to myself. Not too big to overwhelm but there are plenty of top class artworks. Raphaello and Canova and art from the region.

Belissima Gallery in Lioness Brescia. Not to big, local and foreigner 🎨s. Some Rafael's,Ferrari,Foppa etc. Lockers, Coffee machine (wiz real capsules). Very friendly stuff.
Baston B — Google review
A compact, robust gem of a painting gallery with truly outstanding works by Moretto, Romanino, Savoldo, Raphael and others. The newly renovated galleries are accentuated by a truly bold choice of velvet wall coverings, shocking at first but ultimately successful. A free audio guide is also available through an app, though some of the selections didn’t seem to be available. Everyone was very friendly, and there is a charming piazza out front. No cafe that I saw, just a small bookstore. Well worth a visit for appreciation of unsung masterpieces from Brescian painters!

Faboulous gallery! Paintings follow the history of artwork in Brescia. Also, rooms are painted in bright colours and a few of them have windows, which gives a unique perspective to visitors. Highly recommend the visit to this gallery.

The Santa Giulia Museum is a significant part of Brescia's rich historical and cultural heritage. Housed within a Lombard Benedictine monastery complex, the museum spans over 14 thousand square meters and showcases 12 thousand artifacts, offering a journey through Brescia's history from prehistory to the 19th century. The collection includes Coenoman Gaul artifacts, Roman statues, mosaics, frescoes, jewelry, and sacred objects.
Lovingly and painstakingly curated museum staffed by helpful, kind and knowledgeable people who are passionate about what they do. A must see in Brescia. So much history, so many stories, so many artifacts … it was a very rich experience that lasted 4 hours and still left me wanting to stay longer. This complex is a must see in Brescia. Both the museum and the Capitolium so poignantly take one back in history. The one improvement I would suggest for serious consideration is better mapping inside the museum and a more intuitive audio guide. Currently it is difficult to follow the path and the audio guide is a total disaster. The museum officials might do well to check out the audio guides provided in museums in Vienna and Salzburg, so that they can see how a good audio is developed.

Incredible museum. Includes remains of Roman villas, bronze statues and a convent with stunning frescoes. Completely worth its UNESCO heritage badge. Bought a €19 ticket which included entrance tickets this and the group of sites.

This museum complex is a gem! 💎 It houses an incredible collection of pre-Roman, Roman, Medieval, and more recent artifacts. The Roman section includes in-situ excavations of Roman houses (domus) with stunning mosaic floors and frescoes. The Cross of Desiderius is also beautiful, as is the magnificent room where it’s displayed. There’s so much more to see, but it would take too long to describe it all. All I can say is that this place is a must-see: absolutely worth the entry ticket. Plan to spend several hours being amazed!
Andrea O — Google review
This is a medium sized museum. You can definitely spend a few hours here looking at the frescos. There aren't a lot of individual paintings but the historical Roman foundation of the Domus is on display along with many of the Brescia sculptures. The solario is a beautiful sight to see with vibrant color and the wall and ceiling images are impressive. The San Salvatore and Santa Giulia church have beautiful frescos.

Incredible Joel Meyerowitz show. Thank you. As a side note I loved the audio tour and the use of Spotify is perfect.
Mark マ — Google review
We love museums (especially my 9 year old daughter), but this place was a complete maze and somehow felt a bit boring (except the two excavated buildings in the basement). Also weird that in the museum we could only buy the more expensive 'combination tickets' that were for 5 museums in the city (which we end up not using).
Jeffrey H — Google review
A biiig museum, you’ll need at least two hours for the visit. Excellent rapresentation of artefacts and additional videographic explanations. I will come back and stay a whole day there!
Nataša G — Google review
It is indeed a great museum, however, the path to fallow all sections is not clear. You may pass an area twice and miss some other areas. You need to dedicate ~3h to be sure that everything is seen.

Nestled at the end of a alleyway the illuminated restaurant is unassuming. Typical Brescia food in a lovely atmosphere. The antipasto menu consists of many cured meat options. The service was good but the menu lacked options or variations for a late summer dinner.

Amazing food. Try the fusilloni al ragu bianco di anatra or the Casoncelli for first course and the faraona or costata for second. Amazing tiramisu at the end as well as the cantucci con vinsanto. Great wine list and grappa. Highly recommended!!

One of my worst meals in Italy. Forgot our antipasto, main dish had barely any meat, and vegetable side seemed simply boiled and flavorless. Expensive cover charge for bad service and bad food. Prices not justified by what was offered. Will not return, nor recommend.
Blanche D — Google review
Too many tables for too few waiters, so waiting time was around 1h to get served. Food is nice but over priced. Probably you could find much better restaurants in Brescia, and the place is nice, but if you won't enjoy it in view you could do that without paying so much.
Nikola — Google review
Really great and kind staff, with good share of insights to selection of wines and food! Highly recommended!
Barnabás G — Google review
I used to love this restaurant and visited frequently when in Italy. However, my last experience was disappointing. I ordered an appetizer, a main course, water, and a glass of wine. Sitting outside in 30 degrees Celsius (90°F) weather, they served the appetizer but then forgot about me. After 40 minutes, my water and wine became warm as I sat there sweating and waiting. When I finally called the waiter, he rushed to the kitchen and they hastily cooked my pasta, which was served undercooked, probably hoping I wouldn’t notice or would just accept it. I left the pasta and wine and walked out. They charged me for the side dish and water without even apologizing for the ruined meal. If you are used to serious restaurants where waiters consistently check if everything is alright and if you need anything else, this might not be the place for you. It seems to depend on their mood. I won’t be recommending this place to any foreign guests. Italy has much better to offer in terms of both food and hospitality. First impressions are important.

A top restaurant in Brescia. Very dedicated staff. Wonderful cook!
Danny C — Google review
I'm sorry, but the experience we had in this restaurant was not good at all. Let's start with the pros: the interior of the restaurant is well organized the music is good and the maitre is ready to help and really kind. The wine is really good. Now for the cons: parking can be quite difficult and the place is not easy to find. Secondly, the plates imho were not very good: for instance, the risotto Al tartufo we had was a bit off: the tartufo was really good, but the risotto was average: the 2 parts of the dish were a bit too separated one from the other and this lead to a not so satisfying plate. But the main con is the price: we payed really too much for the dinner we had; 70 euro per person and we left the restaurant still hungry: to me if a restaurant let you go out hungry it failed. You want to have a meal in a high-end restaurant? Go to other ones, there are better alternatives for the same price! We went out from the restaurant feeling being stolen.

(Translated by Google) There are many good reviews, but perhaps we were unlucky. Only one of the 6 oysters was delicious, the rest weren't fresh, just terrible (we didn't eat them). Of everything we ordered, only 30% were delicious. You can eat more delicious food elsewhere, and not for such a high price. Due to the restaurant's response, I decided to add to the review. You asked us yourself, "Is everything okay?" and didn't understand the polite suggestions when they replied, "Well, almost okay." This is the first and second—the oysters weren't eaten, only one was fresh and delicious. My husband also ate one oyster and didn't eat any more after that. The pasta and fish (Umbrina) were quite delicious. The rest is strange. Be able to accept criticism and not bark at customers who leave honest reviews.

(Translated by Google) The experience was definitely below expectations, especially considering the reviews. The raw fish platter was paltry, banal, and not at all worth the price: nothing different from what you'd find at an all-you-can-eat restaurant. The starters were decent, but lacked any real flair. The bread—which in other contexts at least provides nourishment—was left there, abandoned on the table the entire time, untouched or changed. The air conditioning being off practically forced us outside, where we were plagued by mosquitoes until a customer—not the staff—requested bug spray. In general, it's clear that they're very self-righteous here, but this belief doesn't translate into anything concrete. Among fish restaurants, it's among the most expensive, but the quality and substance are nowhere near as high as the price. Something isn't working as it should, and the gap between appearance and reality is evident. Response to Corte del Mago: I'm sorry to read such a defensive and dismissive response, because my review wasn't meant to offend, but simply to report a real experience, objectively. I don't frequent all-you-can-eat restaurants, but I've been there and—like it or not—I found raw fish very similar to what I found at your restaurant, unfortunately, at a price that's significantly higher. The point is precisely this: for the same price (or even lower), there are restaurants in Brescia that offer fish menus with superior quality, service, and hospitality. To cite just a few examples: Eden, Labirinto, Officina del Mare, I Mori... A visit to one of these establishments could be useful, if only to compare yourself and assess whether the experience offered truly aligns with your chosen positioning. In my opinion, a calm and constructive discussion is worth more than any personal attack. Regards. ANSWER: Forgive me, but I'm torn between answering you or, indeed, letting you continue with this unmotivated tirade. Do I have the right to believe that the dinner wasn't even remotely worth the price? Bear with me, you have truly excellent reviews, with the exception of mine and a few others. I may be an outsider: I haven't fully grasped the quality of the food and service, but I'm firmly convinced that you—at least for my dinner—are far from being overly pretentious. I welcome any success you achieve for you and your business, but I'll give my opinion: the opinion of someone who, as a customer, has experienced a lot and has been disappointed.

Osteria Al Bianchi is a long-standing establishment in Brescia, run by the Masserdotti family since 1976. The rustic decor adds to its charm as it serves up homestyle local delicacies such as casoncelli stuffed pasta and melt-in-the-mouth costata alla griglia. This humble eatery offers good ingredients cooked simply, with options like malfatti al burro versato and delicious homemade salami.
Great food and atmosphere. This is one of the oldest and most authentic restaurants in Brescia. Everything I tried was delicious. I really loved the beef in olive oil and their Casoncelli and other pasta dishes. One dish that really stood out was actually the Lumache (snails) appetizer on a bed of turnip puree sprinkled with shavings of egg yolk - try it and thank me later. Great wine selection, low prices and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Brescia was a stopover for us on our way from Genoa to Munich. While still on the road, we used ChatGPT to find out what was worth seeing and doing during a short stopover here, and we received a recommendation to visit the Osteria al Bianchi. Luckily, we were able to get a table outside and met a very friendly and attentive team who gave us good advice. The pasta dishes were delicious, the tartare was very good, and the sbrisolona was a wonderful finish. Our meal was accompanied by the restaurant's own Lugana wine, which we can recommend. An excellent recommendation that we can only endorse!

They will ignore you if you speak English. We were sat in an empty dining room. They gave us menus and then proceeded to fill the entire room with other diners, take all of their orders, give them their food, and then finally stop ignoring attempts to get their attention to take our order. Don't go here if you aren't a local.

Great food and fast service. The black rice is highly recommended for truffle lovers. The place is nice and you can sit in or out.

We decided to go to Brescia, the Server Avenger Paolo wanted to show your God where he was raised and saw someone having fun in a corner with everyone watching. We went to Osteria, the best place to eat, which it's completely true, The Avenger as you know doesn't have meat for quite some time, so he asked everything in the menu to kick things off, we could see his eyes shining, the same eyes that signed the divorced papers, but this time very happy. He commented that it's even fresher inside than outside and added "I guess I'm not the only one that can control the temperature" Even happier when he saw 4 people serving us, he said "people are really happy by having me here, I really make the difference in people's lives, enjoy the gift of Mendes" The last horse he had was his wife, and this time he tasted horse meat and loved it, he even imitated the horse sound while people in the room clapped and cheered for him - best meat ever he stated Desert time and of course again, give me all of them, he even got confused when people asked if he was sure, but also your Avenger controls his own metabolism, so why not! After we left he was as happy as a baby born and people made the hall of fame just for him, and even one kid gave him a Baggio shirt, he risked his name and asked The Impulsive to sign to t-shirt! Bless Mendes, bless the town, and that kid is going to be sane forever!! Abbiamo Pedro!
