The staff spoke good English and was polite and friendly. They had canisters of water to wash your hands because there are no taps. Workers replaced the canisters quickly. Peaches were juicy and fresh.
I had a really fun time picking peaches :) They were juicy and delicious. I ate 8 peaches in a day. Thank you for everything!
We picked apples and ate some of the other fruit they had on hand! Staff was SO friendly and spoke some English. The apples were DELICIOUS! Signs make the parking and entrance super easy to find.
Farm owner Kazu San is very knowledgeable and experienced in Japanese farming. He is so friendly to customers, fluent in English to tell you the best season to pick up fruits in Nakagomi orchard. To pick and eat fruits in front the splendid Mount Fuji is a wonderful experience... Surely you will enjoy and come back.... Quite a lot of onsen (hot springs) in the nearby towns... A great place for family and couples to taste the real Japanese fruits and culture.
The fruit was delicious. The picking was easy and the owner was very kind. If you like good fruit and want to have a nice view of Fuji. you have to go here
Over the past seven weeks from May to June 2024, I had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer on a farm nestled in the picturesque Yamanashi prefecture of Japan. Kazu-san and Cham-san welcomed me with open arms. Their kindness and accommodation made the experience of living and working there enjoyable and fulfilling. I learnt a lot from Kazu-san as he shared about Japanese culture, fruit growing and his life. When there was time, Kazu-san would bring the volunteers to the onsen or show us around the area. I also enjoyed Cham-san's home-cooked lunches, working with her and when they would bring Yuri-chan to say hi to us! It was also great fun playing with their 5 cats who were extremely sweet and friendly. One of the highlights of my experience was working with fellow volunteers who came from many different countries. Together, we tackled various tasks, exchanging stories and laughter, shared meals and went on various road trips/outings on our off days. I also had the opportunity to work with their Japanese staff who exhibited willingness to guide us through tasks, despite the language barrier. I appreciate their kindness and patience throughout the time when I worked with them. I am immensely grateful to Kazu-san, Cham-san, the Japanese staff, and my fellow volunteers for making this journey incredible.
I love Nakagomi Orchard. At the end of July, my family and friends went there to pick the peaches. This is my first time to visit the peach orchard. There are so many peach trees, we can climb up the ladder to pick the top/good one which faces the sun that Cham told us. She also let us taste the golden peaches too. All the peaches were very delicious and juicy. Thank you Cham!
The best fruit picking orchard in Japan!! I always come here and have the best time. It is very worth it for a day trip from tokyo. Just take the highway bus from shinjuku and it is so easy. The fruit was soo tasty 🍒

Any outdoor lover should have Kitadake on top of their list. It's a really steep hike that was tough on the knees on the way down. On my trip I met 4 of the park rangers and a few other locals who were very kind to me as I tried to speak with them with my basic Japanese and they did their best to speak English. The sunrise was phenomenal, the people were lovely. I'll be back next season to climb the other mountains in the Minami Alps.
Kitadake is a beautiful mountain, and the hike was very similar to some of the mountains we have here in NH. Challenging with some great foliage and waterfalls on the first part of the hike. A must hike for Mountain buffs in my opinion.
One of the most unforgettable hikes I’ve ever done. From the moment I started the ascent, the trail demanded everything—endurance, focus, and trust in every step. But when I reached the summit just before sunrise, everything stilled. The light spilling over the ridgelines, the clouds like oceans beneath my feet, and the silhouette of Mt. Fuji in the distance—it’s something that photos can barely capture, though I tried. I stood there, breathing in the thin, golden air, feeling both incredibly small and incredibly alive. The trail is steep and rocky in places, but safe and well-marked. The wildflowers, the morning chill, the camaraderie with fellow hikers—everything came together perfectly. The mountain challenged me physically, but it also held me gently. After a difficult year, this was more than a hike—it was healing. If you’re looking for a place that tests your body and touches your soul, climb Kitadake. But go early. Watch the sunrise. You’ll carry that light with you for a long time. 🧡 The sun always rises.
I was really lucky with the weather. Amazing views, although I have to say that the northern alps are nicer. The sunrise itself is worth a visit.
A tough but rewarding hike, quite a bit steeper a rural than your average hike but worth it. It was insanely windy and rainy summit it Kitadake so I couldn’t take photos from the summit, but the next day way sunny and the views were breathtaking. The route we took was 10 hours down, also quite steep at times, rural, slippery, some sketchy bridges, but overall it was worth it for the views at the top. - jayclewis12
On a 2 week PTO heading to Korea but post China Golden Week made direct flights like 3x so I routed via Tokyo Didn’t want the basic city core itinerary so I skipped Fuji since it’s off season after October and hiked Gadatake instead Zero crowds unreal ridge views legs fried soul reset Highlight of the trip 10/10 coming back 🙌🏽⛰️✈️
Challenging yet enjoyable climbing experience. Magnificent views once you reach the ridge line. Took the first bus from Ashiyasu parking at 5:15, day hiked and back in time for the last bus out at 16:40.
The most intense and long hike so far. It took me 7hrs to reach the summit and 3hrs to decend w/o rest the weather is drastically changing.. Tiring yet a wonderful experience to remember. I'll be be back for Mt. Aino! The drink is a bit expensive but reasonable though 500yen per bottle. I took bus from the parking area it cost 1600yen. The most recommended Mt. NOT for beginners I'm telling you..😂❤️🇯🇵🇵🇭 July 3 2022

If you’re interested in “Kai-ken”, one of the dog breads in Japan, you’ll love their Kai-ken merchandise. Other than that, you can get some info about the mountains to hike, where to stay on the trails, how to find farmers who let tourists take their fruits at their actual farms and eat right there…etc. So, this is just to gather information about this city. I highly recommend anyone who comes here to visit the “JA Komano” across the street. They have fun events as well as souvenirs and local veggies and fruits to purchase.
Not spectacular but nice peaches.
(Translated by Google) The direct sales shop and the restroom/tourist information area are separated by a road, making it very inconvenient. They're good at attracting customers by appearing on TV, but they don't have the management to properly handle the customers they attract. The products they sell are great, but how do they manage when they're over capacity? I wonder if the food truck selling peaches changes every day? It said that they don't use water for the peach smoothie, but it tasted like it was made with lots of water. They set up a tent to shade the customers, but no one from the roadside station was there to guide them, so they didn't understand how hot it was. The peach soda I bought from the food truck wasn't very tasty, but I shared the ice in it with my companion to cool down. It's a direct sales shop for agricultural products, not a roadside station. The management needs to be reconsidered, but the products they sell are absolutely amazing. The parking lot is flat, so even if you intentionally lower your car height, it's okay, just pray that it's empty. To get there, take Yamanashi Kotsu Route 42 from Kofu Station to Ogasawara Shimonakacho, get off at Zaikezuka, and walk for 10 minutes. On the way back, take the Minami-Alps City community bus to Ryuo Station, but the bus doesn't arrive on time. It's common for the community bus to be 10 minutes late. If you miss it, you'll have to wait 2-3 hours. Be careful if you're not driving. There are days when it's a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. This farm shop specializes in fruit 🍎, with a wide variety to choose from, and even the popular varieties are available in a wide range of sizes and prices. There are also many reasonably priced items, so be sure to take your time to consider what you're looking for. There are often lines before the store opens, so if you want something good, be sure to try! It cost 350 yen. There were many benches in front of the store, so I ate it there. You buy a ticket from the ticket machine outside and order at the pickup area next to it. Press the intercom and a staff member will come and ask you if you want a cone or a cup. If you order a cup, a plastic spoon is included, but if you order a cone, one is not. The seasonal white peach flavor is like sorbet, and when combined with the vanilla, it tasted like peach ice cream and was delicious. If you want to enjoy the flavor of fruit, I recommend the seasonal soft serve. The portion was large for the price, so I was satisfied. You can get your stamps here, but to buy Gachapins and other merchandise you have to go to the farm shop across the street to the north. (Translated by Google) It was very easy to access by car and the roads were well maintained and easy to drive. Beware of oncoming vehicles. There is also a rest house next to the first parking lot where you can eat light meals, so I think Lake Minami Inaga is very suitable for elderly people to stroll around. Even people with weak legs can reach the lake by walking for five minutes along a forest road at an elderly person's pace if they have a cane. When going down to the lake side, there are 6, 7, or 8 steps (or so?) without handrails, but if you walk normally, you should be fine if you use a cane to help you get down. For elderly people using walking aid carts, the second parking lot may be better as it is closer to the lake. You can arrive at Parking Lot No. 1 without difficulty by walking down the public road at an elderly person's pace. The lake is also compact and can be toured around, with views of the emerald blue water, the red leaves of the trees, the popular swans, and carp swimming gracefully. You can breathe in the fresh air and feel refreshed. We arrived at the venue at 11:30 AM, ate our lunch while looking out at the lake, and took a leisurely stroll while enjoying the warm sunshine. We had tea at the rest house and headed home around 2pm. On a whim, I stopped by a day trip hot spring and felt warm. For good memories of autumn. During the closure period, you will have to climb from the Kitaone or Nakaone hiking trails. According to Yamanashi Prefecture, as of fiscal year 2024, there have been reports of bear sightings on the Kitaone hiking trail (near the observation deck) and Maruyama hiking trail. Please be careful. My personal recommendation is the primeval forest on the ridge from Kushigatakeyama to Ayamedaira. There are many giant trees, and it feels like gods reside there. I was so happy that you took a photo for me✨🙆 I didn't really have high expectations for a public art museum in a small city, but the interior was beautiful and the exhibits were very easy to see and filled with great exhibits! ! However, I'm glad that the entrance fee is cheap. I was able to watch the show in a pleasant and comfortable manner with the courteous treatment of the staff. Photography is not allowed in the exhibition room, but there are photo spots throughout the museum, which is nice 😆 If you check the website, it looks like they are holding various workshops.
